I Hate Jill Zarin Top Chef All Stars

I Hate Jill Zarin Top Chef All Stars Jan 6, 2010

Why do I care so much? I really love this show and when all of these great chef’s get booted off and the lazy, slow and less talented Jamie gets to stick around its frustrating for viewers.

I loved the Quick Fire Challenge, Chef Tom Colicchio prepared a dish as quickly as he cold and the contestants will have that same amount of time to make their best dish. After a mere eight and a half minutes, Chef Tom had prepared a nice fish dish. Chef Tom said that this was the first and last time he’d ever do this, I’m not sure if he meant cooking at all or cooking with a clock on him, but I think he should do it more often. I liked this challenge.

The chefs all commented on how wonderfully organized and methodical Chef Tom was with each move carefully orchestrated as he expertly prepared his masterpiece. The chefs who tasted the dish agreed that it was delicious and then that same time 8:37 exactly was put on the clock and the contest was on. The only real instruction given to the chef’s was to avoid preparing an uncooked dish for obvious reasons.

I’m not a fan of Marcel but it was a genius move to go and swipe the remaining fish from Chef Tom’s table rather than join the gang scrambling into the kitchen pushing each other to secure ingredients. Even Tre who is not a fan of Marcel’s said he had to respect him for that. I don’t know about “respect” Tre but I’ll give Marcel points for thinking of it first.

When the eight and a half minutes were up, Angelo was called out for doing exactly what he was told not to do, prepare a dish that required no cooking. Angelo along with Dale’s soggy noodle and Jamie’s one clam were all on the bottom.

As promised, Top Chef All Stars stakes are higher than ever, Padma announced that the winner of this challenge would not only win immunity, something they all covet, but they’d also win a brand new car! Marcel’s fish dish utilizing Tom’s leftover ingredients and Richard who made a foie gras dish landed in the top three but winner Mike Isabella’s fish won him a Toyota Prius and immunity.

The Elimination Challenge involved all thirteen chefs preparing a lunch tasting menu in a Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown. As the chefs went back to their home away from home and discussed what they would prepare, I always want to scream at the TV as some of the chefs volunteer to do dining room duty, expediting or even offer to prepare more than one dish.

I really don’t understand why Top Chef requires them to do this part, it really isn’t fair that a few of them have to take their attention away from just preparing their dish and handle other parts of the service. This has been the downfall of so many chefs that I would have thought by now, Top Chef Producers would learn how unfair this practice can be for the chefs. It is frustrating for viewers because I would have liked to see how the challenge would play out on a level playing field.

As the camera focused on Casey volunteering to handle the front of the house, I knew something was going to go wrong but when she purchased a huge bag of chicken feet it was clear that she was doomed. What on earth was this woman thinking? I’m all for going big or going home, but chicken feet are difficult to cook to begin with, then for Casey to abandon her station and allow someone else to take over the cooking was not the smartest thing she’s ever done. Clearly Antonia wasn’t going to focus on Casey’s dish when she had her own to worry about. Antonia also put her name on another dish with Jamie leaving her no time to even get any of Casey’s dishes up to the dining room.

I cannot believe that 13 chefs can’t get food out of the kitchen. As Casey was serving what little food was coming out of the kitchen, she realized that none of her chicken feet dishes were coming out, that should have been her first clue that no one was going to help her get her dish out. At that point, she just should have tossed the chicken feet out and not served anything and by right, she would have been safe just like Jamie had been for serving absolutely nothing.

This challenge was a complete fiasco, Chef Tom even had to come down into the kitchen to tell the chefs to get moving and get more food up to the diners. As the trays with very little food began to circulate the dining room, the diners were even grabbing plates off the tray just so that they would get something to eat. One diner noted that they were giving the small amount of food to the children and the adults were going without. They made it sound like they hadn’t eaten in days and had to ration the food. It was almost comical until you remember that these are supposed to be 13 of the finest chefs in the country and they can’t seem to feed a dining room full of guests.

Probably the most annoying scene was Dale taking time out to wipe some dirt off of his shoe and explaining that he was getting 12-13 dishes out at a time. As everyone else was running around like chicken missing their feet because they were sitting on Casey’s station being ignored, Dale was taking his sweet time but making his dishes perfect.
Another problem with this challenge was that speed wasn’t being judged, the chefs were instructed that they were to feed all of these people but no points were taken off if you only sent up enough food to feed the judges as the diners weren’t part of the judging process.

The top four chefs called in to judges table were Tiffany, Angelo, Fabio and Dale. These four chefs were not in the dining room, were not expediting food and all made just one dish. When will these chefs learn? It was frustrating watching Dale get the win because he clearly did not hustle in the kitchen, he didn’t care that diners were not getting served and walking out.

The bottom five chefs who were called into judges table, Casey and Carla, who were handling the dining room, Antonia and Jamie, who both prepared two dishes and Tre who prepared a dessert. This is classic Top Chef injustice. Why are viewers the only ones who see this coming?

I was hoping that Tre would have performed better on Top Chef All Stars, he seems to be in the bottom more than I would have expected but I do thank the judges for keeping Tre around as he is nice to look at! His dessert dish was a risk and could have been a success but it required refrigeration rather than a hot kitchen and didn’t set up properly.

While we don’t see the entire judges table, I really wish Casey would have explained that she was not allowed to prepare her dish properly because she was working the dining room. Antonia really could have said more as well, she knew she wasn’t going home for the bad green bean dish she had prepared with Jamie because the judges agreed that they did like her shrimp toast dish. Why didn’t Antonia take any responsibility for dropping the ball on Casey’s dish? Antonia would have been better off declining to take on the preparation of Casey’s dish as she failed there and she failed to take any responsibility for the dish she prepared with Jamie.

Jamie sent out two bad dishes and after sending out nothing in the previous two elimination challenges, Jamie remains a contestant. Casey took a risk, volunteered to handle the dining room, had no one preparing her dish in the kitchen and was sent home. The good news is that there is no way that Jamie is going to win this whole thing, but as each chef goes home before Jamie, it becomes frustrating to viewers.

Tonight on Bravo is a new episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills followed by Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live with guest Bethenny Frankel. I can’t wait to hear what she has to say about her stint on Skating With The Stars.

There was an “incident” on Twitter yesterday that I need to mention. Ramona Singer retweeted a link to a You-Tube video that has since been removed but it shows LuAnn de Lesseps daughter Victoria rolling what appears to be a marijuana cigarette and using vulgar language including the “N” word.

It got posted on You Tube but the Twitter member who sent it to Ramona, someone named Olivia Otterstedt also sent it to LuAnn, Jill and to Sonja. This Olivia person claims to be a 15 year old singer from Sweden and had apparently been communicating with Ramona on Facebook. She asked Ramona to retweet a song that she was sending and I really believe that Ramona was retweeting what she thought was that song.

I’m not excusing Ramona, it was a really stupid thing to do and she did delete the tweet as soon as she realized what she had done, then when she got quite a few tweets from angry Tweeters, she responded like this:

@ramonasinger it was an accident and i am appalled that it happened

I’m appalled that it happened as well, I wonder how long it would have been out there if Ramona hadn’t done what she did, there are a whole lot of questions, who created and posted that on You-Tube? Did Victoria know she was being filmed? LuAnn has got to be mortified! Ramona is taking a lot of heat for this incident and everyone tip-toes around the kids but I don’t think that Victoria de Lesseps, at 17 years old, should be let off the hook here either.

We knew that there was an issue last season with Victoria sneaking out of the house by climbing out her window, she even broke her arm doing it, and obviously LuAnn has her hands full with a rebellious child. LuAnn is ignoring the incident and I don’t expect any of those involved to mention it again, I’m sure they’re hoping it will just go away.

On January 3, LuAnn posted this:

@CountessLuann: I’m sharing with you Victoria’s first published piece in Womanity! I’m so proud of her. http://fb.me/PivGOGgI

After the Ramona incident:

@CountessLuann: Why thank you! We are having a blast here in Atlantic City!

@CountessLuann: Working on my new music video in a great location with fabulous people.

And a tweet from Kelly Bensimon who also happens to be in Atlantic City, possibly the ladies are filming there? From Morocco to Atlantic City, the New York Housewives do get around!

@Kikilet: @soulcycle I wore my Soulcycle thermal in AC and I won money at Blackjack table #goodlucktee

Six tweets from Kelly that include SoulCycle, I sure hope they’re paying her for all this advertising.

@BravoAndy An Open Letter to Andy Cohen @ http://look.ac/fMz9vi

Until Next Time….

Great recap, as usual! About RHOBH being on tonight at 9… it’s being aired again at 10.

  2. sammyjoesmom says:

Not to dwell too long on it but Victoria was I-chatting and mentions a couple of times in the video that she can’t believe they are recording this. Great blog!!! Casey got hosed Davey.

  3. TrueLifeDiva says:

I was one of the folks who took Ramona to task for the retweet.

    1. Victoria knew she was on camera, it was some sort of livestream thing with her and a friend making faces/acting goofy. They appear to be high as they burst into outrageous laughter over nothing throughout the long clip.
    2. While its true the original sender did forward Ramona a clip of herself singing, the tweet in question said,

    “@Missotterstedt:
@ramonasinger the countesses daughter rolling a cigarette swearing nigger!fast forward to 4.12!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MonE_Xjcss

She may not have watched the video but why retweet to all her fans a tweet with the “N” word in it? You have to hit at least three buttons to retweet something, was she hitting buttons with her eyes closed? I never retweet posts with profanity or slurs. I’m not buying her saying she had absolutely NO clue. The “N” word should have been a red flag. Retweeting that is the same as an endorsement. She’s not that dumb.

    • LynnNChicago says:

Thank you TLD for clearing that up, I admit I did not get to see the video because it was deleted shortly after Ramona stupidly posted it.

Maybe Ramona knew exactly what she was doing…. she’s never been fond of LuAnn, we know that.

      • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Why is that word still on this page? We know what the N word means. Why hasn’t it been taken down from here?

    • HD says:

Couldn’t have said it better myself!

I knew there would be some “apology, some something was in my eye when I tweeted that, you guys know I have crazy eyes and can’t see, I thought the tweet said she was in a video about Nigeria.”

      Major Eye Rollage

    • California35 says:

Ah, I only saw like 1/2 of it and thought it was just two girls having fun. I didn’t hear what they were saying, and I didn’t get a chance to go back to see the rest. Now I know more about it :-P

So Ramona had something to do with this? Ay Ramona.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

oK- so r u kidding me?

      What a bunch of bullsh*t!

So this stupid lil offspring of a celebutard knowingly is filmed rolling a joint and using racial epithets, and then just as much a celebutard Romana retweets it, but just to make sure no one misses the message retweets this to also include a racial epithet?

And the lil offspring says nothing, the celebutard mom (with Native American background- gee you think she never heard a slur directed at her?) says nothing, and the Award for Dumb and Dumber says “I am appalled”?

At who? the kid? At LuAnn? at herself? At the whole stupid HouseWives franchise that is disinegrating daily into an ugly morass of depraved stupidity?
At us? For supposedly intelligent viewers to even make these morons famous?

      Whatevs.

Going for a walk now to contemplate why people who shit on an entire race of people get money and success, and good, loving people struggle to get by- and manage not to insult anyone in the process.

      • sammyjoesmom says:

That was well said!! I am so sick of these women getting rewarded for their vile behavior. Don’t get me wrong; I LOVES me some HW’s but I am tired of the money train they ride getting longer and longer. And if Andy doesn’t ask some real damn questions and actually FOLLOW up questions of these women then he needs to fired and LYNN needs to do ALL interviews. Whew, I feel better

      • twoile says:

        Ditto!

    • LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

I agree with you TLD. I find it hard to believe R would retweet something without checking it out first. I never foward anything, and if I do, I look at it first. Ramano, IMO, used poor judgement here. I really have a problem with her saying she did not know what the video was. If she is appalled, it should be at her own behavior.

      • quincyil says:

I think Danielle got in trouble for retweeting without reading..

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

          quincy-
Danielle claims to have retweeted the Ashley suicide birthday message without reading it. It really cannot be proven either way if she knew what she was doing it or not.

Ramona retweeted ***obviously*** having seen the video, as she includes the racial epithet and also the time on the video clip that it could be heard.

Sorry, my friend, apples and oranges here

          • BessiB says:

I asked this question on the other board and no one answered. Was the word not already in the tweet when she received it? From an un-twitter-trained eye, it does not look like she wrote anything, but re-tweeted what she received.

            • HD says:

Why retweet something with an offensive word like that in it? I don’t know anything about Twitter but come on. Ramona is not stupid. If someone tweeted me something that is offensive I wouldn’t retweet it.

              • BessiB says:

I saw the screen shot two times, and did not ‘see’ The Word. I saw ‘countess daughter’ and the link hi-lited, and moved on without reading it until I saw other posts about The Word in the tweet. Then looked at it again – a third time. So I totally give her a pass on a re-tweet.

However, if she got a tweet with just a link, then SHE added all the commentary and The Word, then I would view it much differently.

                • HD says:

Perhaps its just me but I think that is why it is wise to read things before you retweet them. It saves you a lot of drama. But you know what they say, if you want to hide anything put it in a book because people don’t read. *kanye shrug*

                  • BessiB says:

No, it is not just you, it certainly would be a wise thing to do.

It’s what you get, though. Texting, twittering, facebooking, emailing, and blogging. I cannot imaging how some people do all this and get what they need to do all of this and keep it straight.

                  • BessiB says:

I mean… I cannot imagine how some people do all this and get what they need to do done – and keep it all straight.

I also think it is a good idea to proof read, but sometimes…..

That was fantastic Lynn~I will watch TC eventually. I didn’t know Bethenny will on WWHL~cannot wait to see her too.
BH will be worth watching for sure.
The whole top chef is confusing sometimes when you think someone has been sent home they come back to help with some other challenge. Most of the food looks great but I wish they could all compete till the end & the one with the most great food points wins.
    Then have 2nd place & 3rd & so on.
The restaurant wars should have servers & hostesses provided as well so like you said they could all just concentrate on cooking.
Ramona has a big mouth sometimes.
Lu Ann is probably not handling something like this for first time either.
We all go through our own thing as we grow up & I was no angel. Close though.lol

  6. Had Enough! says:

Top Chef *could* be so much better if they would do as you suggest and not have these people handling FOH. It is Top Chef, not Top Restaurateur. It does cause inherent inequities that have nothing to do with cooking. But in this case, it should have been Carla and Fabio, who were at a massive disadvantage to start out with, so it might have leveled the field a little bit. Interesting that they did well with the food.

As for the challenge itself, it was ridiculous. Of all of them, only Angelo really knows Asian food and has the speed. Dim sum is never plated like that. They throw everything into the steamer baskets, grab it with tongs and throw it on your plate.

Anyway, Top Chef has the most prestigious chefs in the world as guests and judges – Joel Robuchon, Grant Achatz, Hubert Keller, Tom Colicchio, Eric Ripert. Two weeks ago, they were working in the kitchens of Townhouse, WD50, Ma Peche, and Marea. So why are they stooping to these meaningless, silly challenges that really don’t show us what these contestants can do? They have tests of speed, knife skills, and other basic skills for instance the Quick Fire chopping challenges. Now I personally think that many of the contestants don’t have basic skills. You see people like Hung, Angelo, and Stefan who really know how to skill but most can’t fillet a fish, open a mollusc, or balance flavors.

I’ve been fortunate to eat at a handful of restaurants where the food was sublime. There was a place in Mexico that nearly brought us to tears. I doubt that any of the contestants on TC (any season) could produce that kind of meal, let alone do it night after night. Except Hung, who made it onto the U.S. team for the Bocuse D’or in 2008; his dish won the best fish presentation. He seems to be truly gifted.

    • JKW says:

Had Enough…I agree, but the whole point was the speed. Tom even told them that they would need to be faster in this challenge than the Quick Fire. So if you know you are the busiest restaurant …cook something you can do fast. There doesn’t seem to be much planning. Yes, it’s great to make something to impress the judges but not when the food isn’t getting out or you don’t have the time to prepare it. On the other hand I am sure they normally have everything prepped, make the same things every day, work with the woks and equipment and things do get out faster. As for Jaime, she is way over her expiration date…what a lazy little shit.

  7. nancy says:

Thanks Lynn for a great recap. Glad you are posting. Love the guest blog but you are one in a million and no one can compare to your insight. Keep on blogging, girl You are the best. See gang, trying to post more as I am here everyday.

Jamie is the one that loves to cook scollops right? I remember her from a previous season, she is nice and all but she kept cooking scollops. I have not invested too much time or attention to this one season, so I only go by I hear from here. It does sound fustrating…

  10. HD says:

Lynn, you summed up Jamie well.

What continues to get me week after week is that this is a competition. People may not have liked Jhuang (ms?) but I knew he was going to win because he made it clear he was not there to make friends. He was there to win Top Chef.

Casey should not have agreed to be on the floor. She was preparing a dish she had never prepared before and it was chicken feet! For goodness sake. It wasn’t like she was braising a rack of ribs that could be taken out of the oven after hours. Why would Antonia speak up? She wants to win 200, 000 dollars and fame and recognition.

Jamie seriously needs to GO HOME!

  11. FlowerPower (no longer StillAWallflower) says:

Gail Simmons blogged about the dim sum episode on EW. She said it was even worse than what they showed and that it was extremely uncomfortable to be sitting there with all the hungry people waiting for food (who did not understand why the judges got food when they didn’t).

*OT* to LavaLady (formerly American Idiot)–Kadooz on the new handle!!!!! Love it.

I haven’t had time to read back all the comments on the last blog, so I didn’t see if you explained the meaning of your new name. Couldn’t help thinking of lava lamps (I’m embracing my inner hippy). Maybe we can convince sammyjoesmom to change her name to ShagRug. The three of us could get together and party. :-)

    • LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

Unfortunately no, my new name has nothing to do with lava lamps, although I love the idea of letting loose our inner hippy.

WSL asked as well. Lava is short for my favorite place to be, Lavallette, NJ. A small, cozy NJ shore town. I love the beach, and we own a beach house there.

    • BessiB says:

      Great name.

    • quincyil says:

I just sent Andy an email using the link provided. I think that DC can be as interesting as any of the other RH shows. They decided to save NJ which consisted of three women in kitchens talking about another woman that Bravo fired. It’s all dollars and cents when it come to Bravo programming. It takes a little touch of genius to revamp a series. I really like the BH producers and they way they handle the women and the scenes. Film at two different times of the year and let that production team see what they can do in DC.

I also think the cast could use some new blood. Let’s see that group of educated Black women from Stacy’s living room have a chance at stardom. Those few minutes with Stacy’s friends really stood out for me.

Why not give it one more year? Why not start filming and see of something is there? The production costs on these shows are low that’s why Bravo loves them.

Andy is from St. Louis, Missouri. Missouri is the “Show Me” State. Andy, Show me what you are made of!

      • twoile says:

@Q re: Andy I think he has already shown us what he is made of.

        • quincyil says:

          LOL…

I think the cast mates of the Salahis got rooked. I hate seeing people punished for something they did not do. (even Lynn’s twitter friends who get blocked by Jill.) I think I hate injustice on the Planet Earth.

I would also fight to save my beloved “Stargate Universe,” but after trying to save “Farscape,” I am very jaded about Syfy. I didn’t have the email addres of someone at Syfy though. Lynn did give Andy’s email address. I think everyone should capture that address and save it because sometime you will need it.

It’s not just saving the cast of DC. It saying to Bravo, you can’t create a show out of lies and pretend this is a reality show. Andy would never have a conversation with us because he could not handle our logic. He’s used to the Danielle Staubs and Tamara Barneys, not real women with the ability to think.

    • quincyil says:

It’s hard to believe that Camille was so naive to think this would not come out. The cast members sharing the links? Well, the cast members in every series have done something like that from time to time. I think Jill Zarin probably had a few “private” comments about Bethenny’s PETA photos in Times Square.

Jill has a vault with some nude photos. If we ever see them, maybe Alex could comment on them at a reunion show.

      • BessiB says:

I don’t think the cast mates HAD to dig this up and share the links. I think this is from the TV Time 101 blog, RCH and other blogs from last month, and people have been forwarding these to all of them.

    • sammyjoesmom says:

Was she really a hooker as well?

      • BessiB says:

I don’t know. The Rumor, from a post from a guy (on the Daily Beast, I think) that claims to know her said that she spent some time in Brunei with Prince Jefry, which is code for she was one of the girls that go live in the harem for a stint in exchange for cash and jewelry.

      • BessiB says:

The claim is that she was involved with the Brunei / Prince Jefy situation. Those girls claim to be models that are hired to go live in a communal portion of the palace to ‘party’ every night with the men there in exchange for cash, clothes, jewelry, and whatever else their date for the night may buy them.

    • California35 says:

Wow – all kinds of things are coming out now. Many people have a past they are ashamed of (or proud of :-P), so she is not the only one. If she had not been the witch she has been, people would be more understanding and forgiving. It all sounds so embarrassing, but it is the past, people can change and move on ( I like to think so), but again she has not been humble and instead has been a witch all season long….so we don’t feel sorry for her.

      • HD says:

I know! Everything is coming out but she had to know that was going to happen. She is a complete fool (pretty much) if she thought she was going to talk about Faye posing for Playboy and no one would go get her crusty pornos. Whatever!

OOps gr8 minds run in the same direction paraphrase from “the Nuns” who taught me :0)

  17. Di says:

Here’s the latest on how Camille got out of her contract. She was fraudulently induced into signing her contract, based on a misrepresentation of how she’d be portrayed.

Yeah right! What this means from this lawyer’s perspective (me) is Camille’s lawyers would fight Bravo’s lawyers until Bravo had to pay more to fight than to let Camille out of the contract.

She is so full of it. People kill me with the editing thing! These are things she said out of her mouth. People can’t edit stupidity and crazy! She did all of these things! She is nuts, she came off as nuts and that’s that!

      • Di says:

        So true!

“Bad editing” has become to Housewife Villains what “the dog ate my homework” is to students. We see through your excuses Camille! You too Jill.

They really underestimate the public, and that’s why anonymous members of the public are working tirelessly to get out all the dirt on those ladies; to prove them wrong.

        • quincyil says:

Dedra Whitt said on twitter that Camille did not quit. I looked and TMZ says she had a lawyer and will walk away if the reunion show is edited badly.

          • kbinldo says:

Wonder if “edited badly” really means “wouldn’t let me spout lies about Kyle & have everyone declare me the winner.” ;)

    • Golden Girl says:

Thanks for the, link I hope she does leave.

    • error404 says:

I think it’s all publicity from a desperate housewife.

They’d be fools be nice to her at the reunion for fear of her leaving,as it will set a dangerous precedent and they will no longer be able to control their talent. It’s the tip of the ice berg with a slippery slope from here to “Either I get the $500 bottled water I asked for or I’m walking.” Bravo IMO has always been good at showing these women that they are all very easily replaceable.

      • BessiB says:

That is what I’m saying. Especially with the BH group. If Bravo caves in a way to Camille that piss the other women off, they will just drag their attorneys in to get of their contracts. They have the $$ to do it and have absolutely no incentive to come back and probably do not care if they are on TeeVee in the first place (unlike the other franchises).

    • kbinldo says:

This lawyer agrees. Sometimes it ‘s easier (& cheaper) to give the whiners what they want so you can shut them up & they will go away!

  18. WSL says:

    happy 1/2 day !
I have a gardening question have had beautiful roses on my Southern exposed terrace for years. I have never covered them or pruned them for winter but I have pruned them in the Spring. My housekeeper, while I was away recently, pruned my roses & cut them way back. She removed all the leaves & cut to green on all the branches. Now mind you she did this after a 4’snow storm that covered all the branches.
We expect another snow storm tomorrow.Should I expect them to die since they are cut to the green ?
I some how remember my grandmother “corterising” branches of her award winning roses, burning the tip of the branches. She also covered her plants w/heavy plastic b4 a snow storm.NC is very mild vs NYC. I think my Southern exposure mitigated a lot of the cold.
Replacing my roses from Home Depot is not a hudge deal but I would be sad as my current roses r like friends. One gave me a beautiful yellow flower right b4 Thanksgiving know my house keeper had the best intentions & will b very upset if she ruined/kills the flowers often get roses from my step children for Mothers Day. They always, for some reason give me sweetheart roses that usually don’t make it thru the winter always order identical ones from a gardening catalog so they don’t know their gift died.Any advice or comments ? My grandmother had a green thumb & her gardens were on the cover of several magazines. People in NYC who have roof/terrace gardens say the same of me. I know nothing of plants except I love them & take care of them daily.
My first money making venture was at age 6. I took my red wagon & sold flowers door to door.when my mother discovered what I was doing she was “mortified” because my grandmother was known for loving to have a knock at the door to find a Raleighite, asking for flowers from my grandmothers 1 acre garden. Of course that required a 30 min. Tour and great details of each flowers history etc.Mary D.loved folks to love her flowers.
Any way,I ignored my mother & moved my door to door sales one block over where my mother was less likely to know of my enterprise !
I spent 100% of my money on Christmas & birthday gifts for my family. I also had fun & got fed lots of homemade cookies & brownies. I thought about taking the goodies & putting them in a basket for resale & selling my mothers baked stuff but decided not to cuz I might hurt the feelings of the person who gave the treat to me. Last I really got to be friends with many Moms that enriched my life.Still today I keep in touch. I know its special & it all happened out of my money driven idea !
When I interview employees I always ask them what was their first money making venture & what did u do w/the $.u would b surprised how many tell me about a college job & look at me as if I am crazy when I want them to go back much further want creative entrepreneur. Most don’t remember what they did w/the $ That tells me many other character traits I won’t bore u with. There r lots of laws that dictate what ?s u can ask. I always ask : “What do u do on Sunday ?” I am very proud of figuring out that one & it tells u so much. I ask what position they are in the family & I ask what their parents & siblings do.Often I hear no one has ever asked your ?s in an interview.
I am sorry I went OT on my OT !

I do want to invite u to a birthday party for LynnofSouthernCal
    &
    Cal35

    • quincyil says:

Throw a blanket or towel over them. Remove it when it is above freezing.
You should be able to save them. Old sheet…towell.. old bed cover….

    • Kansas Girl says:

Oh, WSL, you’re a joy and I never know what you’ll post on next! Now, as to roses, here’s my story. When I bought my little house about 20 years ago, there were roses in the yard. Some are older roses and some clearly are newer. I freaked out. Everyone told me roses are really hard to grow. So I went to the library and checked out every book I could find on roses. You know what? None of them agreed. The advice was all over the place and beyond watering and feeding, I still had no idea. I read about cauterizing cuts, dabbing wax on cuts, pruning very little/down to the ground, burying them for winter in leaves or mulch, digging at the roots so the whole plant could be tipped over and buried(!). You name it, they suggested it. After 20 years, the roses are still going strong (well, except for the ones the neighbors dug up that turned out to be on the property line), and I have learned a lot. Roses are amazingly hardy and they’ll survive almost anything!

Now, if I remember you’re fairly high up, so you’ll likely have some wind and that will chill the pots. (I assume you’ve got them in large pots?) But on a south-facing terrace, if they’re back near the wall, the sun/heat will reflect off that wall and keep them warm. I think that as long as the roots don’t freeze, your roses will come back in the spring. As Quincy says, covering them with a sheet (not plastic) is good, but you may have some fun anchoring it against the wind. Another idea to help the roots stay warm is to put black plastic around the pots, but again anchoring could be a challenge. The fact that they now don’t have leaves won’t affect them too much, as the leaves would normally be pretty dead from the cold by now, so I think they’ll be fine. Those cut tips may brown back about an inch and the plants will be much bushier in the spring. They may even bloom more, as you’ll have no old woody growth! When spring comes fertilize them generously to help them set on leaves.

Now, how on earth do you get those little roses to grow? Any I’ve ever had don’t survive long and this frustrates me to no end!

I can’t tell you how astounded I am that you’re growing roses in the big city. You make me curiouser and curiouser about life in a huge city! LOL!

You must report how the roses survive this!

    • sammyjoesmom says:

First off, I wanna say what a joy that was to read, in so many ways. That is so nice of you to be concerned of the housekeepers feelings. It is a beautiful gesture to replant the same flowers in order to spare your childrens feelings. With the love and concern you have (and a blanket over them) I am sure the roses will be just fine. You could burn the tips as well.

    • LynnnSoCal says:

Thank you so much for the birthday salutations, WSL. Lovely to be remembered. Happy Birthday Cal35!
I think roses, especially established ones are a lot hardier than given credit. I always cut mine back for winter, water and feed heavily in blooming season. IDK if this has any validity for NYC though. I don’t even get frost this close to the ocean.

    • California35 says:

Thank you for mentioning my birthday and for a lovely story. About flowers, about your childhood money making adventure and about your interview questions. My mom and many people I know cut their rose plants ver short some months of the year, not sure when. I’m sure your housekeeper has the same knowledge as those people and my mom. The rose plants are so short and empty for a while, but only to come back to life more beautiful every time. I have never lived in the cold temperatures the you live in though, to know if the plants will have the same results. I hope your roses will be fine with the advise the others gave you.

  19. MrWestVirginia says:

Has anyone seen anything about a Bravo show being cancelled after 7 seasons?? If so, which one is it. AOL had the headline, but when I ckicked on the story, all it talked about was Anderson Cooper asking Willie Aames about a bunch of dead birds!!

    • quincyil says:

Kathy Griffin is quitting. Has her show been on that long?

    • kotagirl29 says:

Real Housewives of OC. Maybe that is why it is taking so long for the new season to come out. They have been on 6 or 7 years so maybe they just can’t reach new contract agreements. Them ladies need money but maybe Bravo won’t cough it up because newer franchises pull bigger ratings.

      • Had Enough! says:

As I understand, OC has been filming for several weeks.

        • quincyil says:

OC is done and will be shown in Jan. Remember their final party involved druken Tamra throwing her drink on Jeana Keough?

I think it is Kathy’s Show that is ending.

        • kotagirl29 says:

I know that have filmed and are ready for the next season. I am just wondering if this will be the last season? There aren’t too many other shows that have been on Bravo for that long. And since for some reason Bravo is starting the NY season before even announcing when OC will start one can’t help but wonder what the hold up is?

          • LynnNChicago says:

Gretchen is the hold up. She’s still going through the court battle with her “ex-boyfriend” and Bravo is still filming it

            • TrueLifeDiva says:

Some of the gossip sites are saying that Tamara and Vicki mention Jay by name in several “scenes” this season. Well, Captain Lawsuit caught wind of this and threatened to sue Bravo if his name is uttered on air. So allegedly the delay is because Bravo is furiously editing his name off the show.

              • Rabble Rouser says:

Sue them for what? It’s a very public law suit- and I didn’t think the name Jay was a trademark.
Maybe one of our legal eagles can say if that case ‘has any legs’.

It seems weird that he would even tried to sue, given that his whole agenda was to expose Gretchen and get her to admit publicly they were together.
Wouldn’t the show she is on, be the perfect vehicle for that.

    • sammyjoesmom says:

Quincy is right. It is Kath Griffin.

  20. LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

Happy Birthday Lynnsocal! Best wishes for a great day and year.

  21. LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

These housewives are everywhere. I was in a doctor’s office today looking at a magazine called NJ Monthly. I see a picture of Dina and Tommy at a charity event (Eva’s something??). I just went to NJ Monthly.com to see if I could find the picture again. I didn’t find it, but I found an article about Bethenny and an appearance in Red Bank NJ on Jan 20th. It’s a little too far for me to go. Wish she was somewhere closer.

  22. California35 says:

Happy Birthday LynnofSouthernCal. We share a birthday :-)

  23. Golden Girl says:

Thanks again Lynn for the great blog. On another note, I don’t think it’s right that Ramona re-tweeted the tweet she was sent but I think that more heat should be put on Luann, and Victoria.

  24. buffywood says:

Happy Day to everyone! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods and you treating yourselves well. I don’t think women do ofter enough.

LavaLady and FlowerPower, I LOVE your new names. Plus, LavaLady it helps me remember that you are in New Jersey.

For those of you heading down a healthy path, stay on it! You have support.

Lastly… Damn Tom looks sexy cooking. Is it just me?

  25. Night Light says:

Having not seen the tweet or video and not caring to either this is my opinion on Ramona’s retweet fiasco: the feeling I get from the negative reaction is like if your friend tells you that your boyfriend is cheating on you and you get mad at your friend. Instead of directing your anger and frusteration at your boyfriend. I never understood that reaction. Ramona retweeted for better or worst a link she didn’t fabricate it. If we have learned anything about Ramona is she is not a liar. LuMan on the other hand prefers to keep things murky.

    • quincyil says:

I agree with you. I can just see Jill Zarin sharing with Luann and using this against a very stupid Ramona. Can you imagine the phone call from Jill and texts?

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

So sorry to both of you but I have to respectfully disagree.

ramona retweeted the video saying in her message- check out the little spoiled brat saying (the racial epithet) at 4:40 on the video. (ok- I edited it a little)

I like Ramona but no way am I giving her a pass on this. To repeat what the lil celebutard’s daughter said and then to direct her “fans” to view it just condones it.

the only excuse I’ll buy at this point is that her tweeter account was hijacked.

      • quincyil says:

I didn’t know what she tweeted. I just knew she retweeted. I didn’t know she heard that word and pointed it out. Innocent here…..

    • MickeyMouth says:

I thought at first it was a misunderstanding because the tweet was already gone when it was brought to my attention. But, like everything on the internet, things aren’t really gone. Another site posted the deleted tweet and it was doubtful that someone could accidentally retweet it when I saw that there was a full description of what the YouTube video included in the tweet. TLD’s was right on the money!

In the video Victoria joked about it being recorded and even commented about taking it to school and showing it to friends during lunch. She knew. But being a stupid kid (I’ve got two and used to be one) she probably thought it was something between friends or she didn’t care if others saw it.

I kind of let Ramona off the hook in my tweet back to her. I only said that I thought it was a “Very hurtful accident. I hope everyone has learned something.” I probably should have been more forceful with my words. Ramona should feel bad for retweeting that tweet.

I once made the mistake of retweeting an ugly tweet. I was very knew to twitter and I just didn’t realize how many people would see it. I learned very quickly that retweeting a tweet is like co-signing it and I try to be very careful in what I retweet now. Ramona is not new to twitter. It’s now difficult for me to believe that she didn’t have ulterior intentions in tweeting it.

      • BessiB says:

She re-tweeted, but did not – herself – write out the description of the video, right or wrong?

          • BessiB says:

            THANK you.

Some people seemed to be saying that Ramona wrote the tweet.

As I answered HD above, I glanced at the screen shot of the tweet a couple of times without seeing the offensive word in the tweet. So I can understand how Ramona could have just forwarded the message without really focusing in on the entire content of what she was sending out there.

            • HD says:

Let’s not act like the message was as long as the Constitution. How long can tweet be? 140 characters, right? Ramona is a self made business woman, she is smart, she can read and in her now entertainment profession this is par for the course. Take the time to READ before you tweet or retweet anything. As my dad always told me it only takes a fistful of common sense. With her being on TV now she doesn’t have the luxury to just tweet and retweet away or it will come back to bite her in the butt.

Perhaps you didn’t see the word after reading less than 140 characters three times but I saw it instantly.

              • LynnnSoCal says:

How could you miss it? I glanced at it and saw the offensive word immediaty. Why anyone would retweet that is beyond me. Ramona is just as guilty. That is a powerful word and she should know better. By retweeting it, she is an active participant. She’s not that clueless or ignorant.

              • BessiB says:

That is my point. It was not the Constitution, twitter is not something I would expect someone with feel important enough to do more than glance through – especially if they are jamming through a bunch of them. So these people can easily get themselves into trouble.

You saw it because you took the time. I didn’t because I do not take the time to read it.

  26. Amber...Real Wife says:

Lynn, Lynn, Lynn. I thought i’d follow you to the edge of the HW universe, but I knew i’d never jump! LOL :)

I’m quite content with the supposed decision BRAVO has made re: RHODC. I’m kind of glad it’s over. That show was one helluva pain in the ass! It circled around two grifting freaks, alcohol/medicated drunk wives and a obnoxious cockney brit who insulted our great country and its inhabitants every few minutes on screen! These women were BORING! The closet, the basement agency, the full inbox…COME ON!!

The only interesting people were the MEN! Rich, Ebong and Jason. All dedicated to the women. All with a voice and a story, however it’s supposed to be about the women. Stacie’s quest to find her family was interesting, but was mishandled along with her change in position of gay marriage. Either BRAVO dropped the ball and showed the other women to be boring or they really are.

Like I don’t want to see the ham game (NJ), I also don’t want to see the biometric closet lock game mishandled by a drunken wife , a lustful modeling agent, or an ugly skinny brit talking badly about American housewives. I don’t want to see support gays pushing for camera time at all parties, fashion shows and political functions! I love my gays but in this franchise, those fellas were everywhere! Pushing for invites, floating from wife to wife it was too much! They hounded Mr.DeMille for their close up indeed!

I’m sure many will disagree, as they have alot of fans on the board, but for my money, 2 cents LOL, I say let sleeping dogs lie and let’s see what Miami will bring! ;)

    • quincyil says:

I think Bravo’s producers decided to weave a tail about DC housewives after they realized what they had in the Salahis. They became fixated on the two liars and the other women appeared to be less than what they were.

The men were very interesting. Paul Warton was interesting. Stacy’s job was fascinating. Think of the mansions that could have been shown.

Move the show to the suburbs and show the Women of Chevy Chase that Cat O hated. Let them go into the city for events. Lots of things could be done to make the show more interesting. It is my belief that Michaele could have backed out of the White House gate crashing, but she was so far into the shooting that she was embarassed to back out The producers were smart enough to cover their collective rears with the questions that were asked in the salon on that fateful day. It’s like an avalanch that was born with a snowball.

    • Di says:

I totally agree with you Amber, and I couldn’t have said it any better!

    • Katie says:

      Amber – I agree.

I actually wish they would start shutting each HW franchise down, but make a TV show out of it. We get to see them being told the news and they are filmed scrambling to pay the bills or find a new venue to sell their crap and each week the viewers (us) get to vote off a HW.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

oh gawd, Amber, I was askered to say it!
      I disagree with Lynn!
The entire world is tilting on it’s axis! Doomsday draws near!
And it’s not even 2012 yet!

  27. 2Stupid says:

Somebody needs to tweet Andy a question about the incident and see if Bethenny says anything about it. She supposedly still speaks with Ramona and Alex. I wish we could get up to the minute answers about things happening NOW instead of several months ago when these shows were filiming. I want scoop NOW. Oooh and Camille is everywhere today. I can’t believe the other HW’s sent emails with pictures about her. I posted yesterday I didn’t think it was true, but everyone has picked up the story. I really could only see Kyle doing that, because she is the only one with the real grudge.

    • quincyil says:

I can’t see Lisa, Adriene or Taylor doing that. I can see Faye Reznick starting it with the Richards and from there the email expanding. Lisa may have looked, but resending with comments, “No.” Also, these photos, I believe, are the same that I saw. I live in farmland USA…. so the photos are everywhere. I don’t expect these women not to be interested in something that I and many others here looked at.

    • butterisafruit says:

If I was one of them I’d have no problem smashing her . Over and over she’s said how she can’t stand this band of housewives, how they are mean to her blah blah. Actually they haven’t said a blessed thing about her. She has been very clear she has felt she can not be their friend. If Faye IS doing it, WTG Fay.

  28. Had Enough! says:

John Edwards has supposedly asked Rielle Hunter to marry him. Oh, so now he decides to do the right thing? Please, someone phone the Countess and ask her what is the protocol for puking in public?

    • 2Stupid says:

Maybe it’s because he KNOWS without a doubt Elizabeth isn’t leaving him a dime. He really is the lowest of the low.

    • quincyil says:

I bet they have been together this whole time.

    • AZ Girl says:

I was so glad to hear that Elizabeth’s Will left him out. The final FU to John and all I can say is AMEN. The oldest daughter (can’t recall her name) is the executor and she is a discrimination attorney working in DC.

I notice a picture of John and the kids leaving the church after the funeral and the oldest daughter was on the other side of the foursome holding the hand of her younger sister. I bet that the oldest daughter is having a tough time forgiving her dad.

      • error404 says:

OK, stupid question: The will left her kids a bunch of brick-a-brack and an old car probably left up on blocks, not one mention of $$$ or even a house or 2. Didn’t she have like $40mil sitting in the bank?

        • Had Enough! says:

Probably put into trust long ago. And a good thing, or he could challenge the will and almost definitely win. In almost every state, there are laws preventing the disinheritance of a spouse (to whom you are still legally married). The laws provide that the disinherited spouse will get a certain %. The % varies from state to state, but basically it says that the surviving spouse automatically gets that % if the will left them out entirely. In some states, they can even elect to get that % if the will gives them less than that %, which prevents the spouse from deliberately leaving like $10 so that the spouse can’t claim to have been disinherited.

So if she put it all in trust years ago, it doesn’t go through the estate and he can’t claim the elective share.

          • buffywood says:

A big reason why there is no desire on my part to get married again. A good estate attorney is such a blessing. There are still some big tax advantages of a trust as well.

            • jen says:

not to be rude, but since they were still married anything that was theirs and he had legal access too, she doesn’t have to leave to him-Edwards made some of the cash too. He is still a VERY rich man

    • lillybee says:

Rielle is definitely one crazy lady.

      • quincyil says:

        one crazy stepmother.

        • AZ Girl says:

Oldest daughter is engaged to be married. It is going to be interesting to see what happens at the wedding. If John and Rielle have any decency they will have her stay away.

If this is true and I were one of his kids, I never speak to him again.

I just read the new comments that are coming in on T-Bitches old Bravo blog and I am seriously now sick to my stomach. Apparently people just “love love love her”. The fact that there are people that stupid walking this earth really scares me. Either that or her and her friends (does she have any?)have ramped up her PR campaign. See for yourself. Buffywood,
I am already a complete failure at trying to eat more healthy. My biggest issue is time to cook and shop. I made a pact to myself that this weekend I am going to plan out meals for the next week and shop accordingly. Food that is quick and easy is always bad for you. It also seems people that I wanted to see over the holidays, but couldn’t squeeze in all want to do lunch/dinner/drinks this week. I know enough of my excuses. I am a firm believer that if you make even the smallest changes in the beginning it does make a difference. I turn 40 in Oct and would love to have lost 20 lbs by then, more if I could but will settle for 20 (which is very doable!).

Keep pressing us about how we are doing. I’m the type of person that needs ribbing!

      • buffywood says:

Simple, don’t look back and certainly don’t consider yourself a failure over this. Just look forward to what you will do. I swear, why do we (myself included) beat ourselves up the way we do? Nothing good can come from us feeling bad about ourselves.

For example, I have been pretty sick since Christmas and have not been able to work out yet. I’ve tried but found myself getting dizzy and a little sick to my stomach. I can’t beat myself up about it, I can just accept it and move forward. My fever finally went away yesterday and I am giving myself a day or two to fully recover, then I will hit it hard.

I have a feeling you will great 40 feeling and looking fabulous!

      • California35 says:

That is my problem and my plan. Birthday dinners and lunches this week. . . also on regular days I get home at 7 to cooksomething every night its tough, I am starving by that time and it is late to eat. I plan to go grocery shopping this weekend and I hope I can plan dinners for the whole week. If we do the planing and shopping on the weekends, we can do it 2Stupid.

One of my friends has the habit of cooking lots of food on the weekeneds, that she can reheat during the week. She uses that food for lunch and dinner. She was telling me about that last night, and it gave me the idea. Maybe I will cook some of those meals on the weekend. Hey! whatever works :-P

        • buffywood says:

I typically try to do all of my planning and my prep work in one day and determine the meal plan for the whole week. I am actually working on a business plan regarding this issue that in the weeks to come I hope to share with all of you to get your feedback.

          • California35 says:

Hey Buffy! I just noticed that you did start that blog…should we go there to write about this stuff?

            • buffywood says:

Lynn said she was good with us discussing this all here. I can use the other “blog” to report the weekly results for those who chose to share. That way the info will always be there. Once that becomes more “active” on Monday people can post there as well if they would like.

Now, I use that time to boil eggs, chop up cucumber, carrots, canteloupe, celery etc. and I put stuff like pretzels and stuff into little baggies so that we have snacks ready and on hand for during the week when I am busier. It seems to help and save some money too.

  30. AZ Girl says:

For all of Lynn’s Losers I have a few “tips” that I live by and they work for me. Hope they help!

    1. Plan your workouts and dinners for the week on Sunday.

    2. Make a big salad (minus dressing) on Sunday. I pack it in small containers and take it to work and use it for dinner with grilled chicken. My husband loves it.

    3. I NEVER eat fast food. If I have to (which is really rare) I usually choose Subway, 6 inch turkey, no cheese or mayo and I only eat half.

    4. I only eat out at a “sit down” restaurant once a week. Usually Friday because that is “date” night with my husband. That is my “reward” for working hard all week.

    5. No beating myself up. If I “fall off the wagon” I usually get out my calendar for week and re-plan or add a workout to make up for it. That way my “mess up” is “fixed” and I feel better.

Depending on your schedule and the weather it is proven that individuals who work out early in the a.m. and have a work out partner are more successful in being consistent with their workouts over time.

I have two days where I have to get up a 4 a.m. to get it done so I can be in the office on time. I know I won’t work out in the afternoon after work. Period.

    EVERYONE has bad days.

All good tips AZ – :-)

    • TrueLifeDiva says:

Just wanted to add to what you said. I do theme days to make meal planning easier.

Meatless mondays: I like beans a lot so pinto, red, kidney, black, and chili get cooked in the crockpot every mondays. There are enough varieties out there to not get bored plus I also do cabbage or greens and add cornbread muffins on the side to make a satisfying meal.

      Turkey Taco Tuesdays: Self explanitory

Wing/Whatever Wednesdays: Baked wings with either bbq or buffalo sauce, vegies and brown rice. The whatever is for when I substitute leftovers from earlier in the week for wings.

Tilapia Thursdays: Baked tilapia fillet with chili, garlic, or wasabi oil drizzle.
Steamed veggies and brown rice on the side.

Fried Fridays: cheat day. Fried chicken or catfish. I still weigh portions and record in food diary.

Seafood Saturdays: In season seafood such as scallops, shrimp, lobster tail (nuggets), or something on special at the seafood counter.

Spaghetti Sundays: Spaghetti featuring shirataki noodles. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.iill.net/wp-content/uploads/images/shirataki-noodles.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.iill.net/shirataki-noodles&h=247&w=420&sz=20&tbnid=O0WIyGCldU2nZM:&tbnh=74&tbnw=125&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dshirataki%2Bnoodles&zoom=1&q=shirataki+noodles&usg=__fX_ijN5nzIko6brOJPbhc0QFYTk=&sa=X&ei=s24mTZT9CIT7lwfMp5GNAg&ved=0CD4Q9QEwAQ
They are only 40 calories per 8 oz package which serves two but at 40 calories, I just eat the whole thing! Even with sauce, meat, and veggies a large plate can come to only 200 calories (measure ingredients always). Very low cal ;-). I get mine at WholeFoods Market for only $1.29 a pak.

AZ and TLD, do you mind if I copy some of this information over to my page? I’d like to move some good tips over so they are all in one place.

TLD, I love the fit bottom girls e-mail I get daily. Even if I don’t really read it completely it is a daily reminder for me to eat right.

        • TrueLifeDiva says:

Feel free to use as you please ;-). Can’t quite remember what I’ve posted here lately… Did I mention HungryGirl.com? I get her newsletter too. And she makes great vegetarian suggestions even though she’s not one. If a meat eater likes it, it must be good!

I watched the special last night on ABC that B was on. A few nutrionists were rating the various diets and they rated the Caveman Diet pretty well. That is me to a tee… Grilled meat and fruits and veggies are the way to go. I will have to check out her site too.

    @Night Light
    @QuincyIl
Here’s the problem with the both of your statements and not knowing what happened. I didn’t just hear about it, I RECEIVED the offensive retweet from Ramona yesterday. I did not appreciate getting a tweet from her with the “N” word in it. I don’t use that word and I don’t hang with people who do. I tweeted back to her that she looked just as ignorant as Victoria for forwarding the link to everyone. Victoria is a dumb kid who is still learning about life. Ramona is 50+ and should know better. There dumb things I did at 20yrs old I would not do now at 40yrs old. I am not absolving Victoria at all. However, Victoria is not the one who sent me a tweet with the “N” word, Ramona did. Now Ramona is appaled? She should have been appaled enough to NOT retweet that vile message and called Luann personally instead. Ramona put herself on the same level of a child by doing that.
Your assesment of the situation is simplistic and condescending to me. Since you don’t know all the details please don’t make sweeping judgements as if I’m not a thinking person with a logical mind. It’s very insulting for you to talk about my reaction when it didn’t happen to you and you have no clue about what happened.

    • quincyil says:

I will go back, but I don’t remember saying anything about your reaction. Sorry if it offended you. Let me go back and read this. Is it on yesterday’s blog?

    • quincyil says:

True Live Diva, I don’t see where this is happening and I read both pages. I was negative about Ramona and never discussed what was in the video as I did not see it. I certainly had no intention of causing you distress. My commments were on Ramona. I don’t think I commented on the girl at all. Is this what bothers you? I was disturbed that she used that word, but since I accepted all of your statement as fact, I didn’t write anything about that. I think it’s wrong of the girl and horrible that it was on a tape and on the internet.

Please respond, as I care about your opinion of me. Honestly, in my mind your words were the truth so as in English law, silence is agreement.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

well quincy, just speaking for myself, it seems to me that you’re kinda just glossing over this whole issue, even to the point of comparing it to Danielle retweeting the Ashley suicide birthday wish.

I didn’t see you be outright condesending to TLD but by not acknowledging the hurt and frustration of having the word n**** tweeted to her by a quasi celebrity no less, you ARE minimizing her reactions.

This is an unpleasant subject. No liberal white person ever wants to see the unpleasantness, because it’s supposed to be better than this. But by ignoring, or trivializing, or minimizing, the unpleasant subject gets swept under the rug.

And isn’t that the most insidious type of racism that there is? you can’t really define it, you can’t really pin it down, but deep down you know it’s just lurking there, just on the peripheries of polite society.

except now Ramona brought it out front and center. And it’s STILL not acknowledged?

        • quincyil says:

Specifically, the last paragraph said that no other housewives had gotten in trouble for retweeting and I remembered Danielle had a lot of trouble from her retweet and it was discussed in the reunion. Simply pointing out that tweeting for housewives has been a problem before. It was the retweeting that I commented on, not the differences in the message.

          • BessiB says:

Part of Danielle;s excuse was that some people she retweets automatically and did not really look at the message.

It makes more sense than not in this case, that something like that would be retweeted without the retwitteror really looking at the message.

        • quincyil says:

I Agree. It is racism. As the aunt and grand aunt of African American nieces and nephews, I hate racism.
Did I address the issue up front, “No.” I said over and over again that what Ramona did was wrong on yesterday’s blog. I actually made a mistake and posted a paragraph about it on my Canadian post. I was very negative about Ramona. That’s all I can say.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

TLD I understand what you are saying. I am also surprised that Ramona is getting a pass on this.
I don’t think that he posters here “get” that Ramona re tweetted a video with a racial epithet in the subject line.

So let me break it down… there you are standing on line at the supermarket and you get a tweet from your favorite HW and when you look at the message it says “Look at Victoria saying “n**** at 4:40!”

Am I taking crazy pills? How is this even remotely a mistake on Ramona’s part?

She’s only appalled because she got called out on it.

It’s bullshit, and both Ramona and Luann are starting to piss me off.

      • quincyil says:

I finally found my comment to night life. My comment was on the reaction of Jill to Ramona getting in trouble. I thought Jill would be jumping up and down that Ramono screwed up like this. It had nothing to do with your posts. Both Nightlife and I agree that neither one of us would like to see the video and for my part, I don’t want to hear that word or see a girl on drugs.

Honestly, it had nothing to do with you. I totally understand your reaction and I followed HD on posts agreeing with her.
Go to yesterday’s page and read my responses to this. Everything I wrote about Ramona and what she did was negative.

I do think Jill is having a great day over Ramona being this stupid, but that has nothing to do with your feeling being hurt. I don’t like what happened to you one little bit.

      • quincyil says:

One more…go to yesteday’s page. I must have 5 posts criticizing Ramona there. I just didn’t repeat myself over on this page.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

ok- I just was looking at today. I didn’t understand what was going on until TLD laid it out- and NOW I’m getting mad.

          • quincyil says:

Well, I wrote to you above. I just thought Ramona turned the tweet around in a retweet. I didn’t know she watched the video and gave information about the time something happened.
After reading posters disgust with the tape, I didn’t look at it.

            • OneMoreInBoston says:

I pretty much ignored the whole thing until TLD posted exactly what was in the tweet today.

Then I sat up a little straighter in my chair and exclaimed out loud.

Something along the lines of “Are you F*cking kidding me?”

I am very surprised that you didn’t pick up on what TLD wrote.

              • quincyil says:

I was busy today. I didn’t know that she was offended until this evening, when I immediately responded. I don’t know much about how tweets work. I did know that you can get them sent to you, but I didn’t know they send videos to people until this morning. I don’t download videos. The security on the computer will not allow it without disabling feathers. I don’t want to do that.

          • quincyil says:

A lot of people commented negatively early this morning on yesterday’s blog. Few of them brought their words to this blog.

            • HD says:

@ TLD even if you NEVER got the Tweet Ramona was wrong. I don’t even have Twitter but Ramona looked like an idiot to me. And you know I always am suspect about people who can just casually toss stuff around like that. Sorry, just being honest. Any person in their right mind would not retweet that. Period.

This situation with Ramona is a classic example of why I do not have a Twitter account. Twitter is information being sent out to cyberspace to anyone and everyone without thought or moral edit. I find myself even with email and posting here to re-read and re-think what message I want to send. Twitter is an emotional reaction that too many times causes more problems than solutions. IMHO.

Ramona is an odd bird. For some reason, she never thinks about possible outcomes of her words and actions. When you hit 55, it is time to stop blaming your parents for your personal quirks and take some responsibility for what you do and say.

Hi all ya Fartknockers! LOL I’ve kept up with the blogs but not the comments. Life has slowed down so hopefully I’ll be able to catch up. Geez, Quincy, I come back just in time for you to leave. Brat. :D About Ramona, my opinion is she retweeted to get the info out about more racism in LuAnn’s family (which I’m not suprised about…remember the anti-semite remarks that got white-washed?) How is that different from forwarding information about Camille’s porn past? Both things (porn and racism) are offensive to me and NO they aren’t on the same level but my point is obvious, I hope. Ramona didn’t use the word, Victoria did and she’s letting people know what a LOW CLASS racist LuAnn raised. You don’t get that way by accident, you model the behavior of your parents. Of course LuAnn is saying nothing…what can she say? I don’t give Victoria a pass. She’s old enough to get married and pick the words she uses. And Quincy you forget…it’s Hotel California ~~~you can check out but you can never leave~~~

    • sammyjoesmom says:

      • Zipit Zarin says:

Thanx sammyjoesmom :D I’m just P. O.’d that Ramona is taking flack for what Victoria said. Focus people! lol It’s LuAnn’s un-CLASSy child who said it. If she was raised differently, she’s not showing it now is she?

        • HD says:

I want to be crystal clear I am giving Ramona flack for retweeting the message. I am clear that Victoria said it. And quite honestly since we are being honest a lot of Black kids use the word and a lot of White kids have this thing with wanting to “be Black” although as a Black person I didn’t know you could do things to be Black. I digress…I am SURE she tosses that word out often thinking she sounds cool when she looks racist. And I am sure when she says it the Countess keeps right on picking out a one shoulder dress.

I have had the Countess’s number since day one. When her husband left her for a Black woman she tried to make it fancy really talking up that she was a princess and blah blah blah. That made me very suspect. When she went to meet with those Black girls at the youth center and laughed at what they wanted to do for a living and told the young girl who was a little chubby that she still had to time to lose weight, when she told Bethanny to address her as Countess in front of the “help”. Oh I’ve been on to the Countess. I see right through her facade. I am not saying she is a racist but I will say people like her and I would NEVER run in the same circles.

          • Zipit Zarin says:

I AM saying she’s a racist. I think I despise her almost as Foghorn. Foghorn is overt in her vileness. LuAnn is chickenshit phoney about it. I recently saw the clip of Bethenny calling her a snake and I absolutely LOVED it because it was so right on. She IS always saying passive aggressive insults. I just wish Bethenny hadn’t apologized. It was right on.

            • HD says:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh when Bethanny called her a snake I was in love!!! It was DEAD ON! I cannot stand the Countess and her little digs. I don’t know why no one else calls her on that b.s. She couldn’t last two seconds in my neighborhood because I would have already went straight off on her! She does it alllllllll the time and it pisses me off. Luann’s entire life is a facade. I would hate to live like that. Class with the Countess my a$$.

              • Zipit Zarin says:

I love you! And you know, she did break down and cry at the reunion when called on her bullshit “Countess” crap. She pulled the getting a divorce card so everyone felt sorry for her. It worked. She’s so good at what she does and I hate her for it.

          • RubyNewbie says:

I missed the bruhaha and I’m kinda glad I did. As for Luann, she’s one of those people who “achieves” a certain station in life and forgets who they are. Very disappointing from someone who claims to be Native American. I wonder if she bothered to chastise her daughter? She probably only told her to look out for the cameras next time. Awful.

If you look at Ramona’s @mentions, she is getting scolded for outing a minor. So I guess a lot of people feel like you do. But let me ask you a question. I follow you on Twitter and even though you don’t post often, how would you like it if I forwarded a bunch of nasty vile tweets to you? Would you blame the persons who generated the nasty tweets and tell me, “Thanks for pointing that out!” or would you possibly curse me out for even damaging your retinas with that filth? I am not excusing Victoria’s actions. What I am saying is Ramona sent me offensive material that just happened to come from a cast members daughter. Everyone involved knew exactly what the fuck they were doing.

        • TrueLifeDiva says:

My last post got eaten up by cyberspace again. Okay, here goes.
If you look at Ramona’s @mentions, people are scolding her for throwing a minor under the bus. So I guess a lot of people feel like you do. However, let me ask you a question… I follow you on Twitter and even though you don’t post often, how would you like it if I forwarded a bunch of nasty vile tweets to you? Would your response be, “Thanks for bringing that horrible dreck to my attention. Those people are the scum of the earth.” Or would you curse me out for even subjecting you to such offensive material?
I was offended by the fact that Ramona forwarded to me an objectionable tweet that happened to have also originated from a cast members daughter.

          • Zipit Zarin says:

I’ll say it again. I think she was pointing out what a racist LuAnn has for a daughter.

            • Dawn says:

I don’t think that we know Ramona’s motivation in retweeting. Heck, I don’t even know how it’s done. I’m offended by derogatory terms and always personally tell people that use them that I am offended and uncomfortable and why. Someone upthread posed the question as to whether or not we would blast the person back who sent the tweet with profanities if we received them. I would not make the offense worse by responding that way.

Quincy has always been the one who gives everyone the benefit of doubt on this board. I admire that about her. I think in some respects it’s naive (but I always check that against my own tendency towards cynicism). Quincy seems to have a good heart and I don’t believe that she would intentionally offend anyone.

I hate to see people tear one another apart over people that they don’t even know in real life. It’s o.k. to disagree about perceptions but doesn’t seem worth it to carry a personal lasting grudge.

              • TrueLifeDiva says:

I’m sorry, I’m a little puzzled by your post.
“Someone upthread posed the question as to whether or not we would blast the person back who sent the tweet with profanities if we received them.” I asked that question to illustrate a point.

Who’s being torn apart? Every comment I’ve seen today has been polite. And I was speaking about my feelings regarding something that was said to me, not something I read about someone else on the internet. Lastly, who’s holding a grudge?

If I got a forwarded message that was offensive from someone random, I would block the message sender, not respond.

If I had gotten an offensive re-tweeted message from someone who I was familiar with and I thought it out of character, then I would think “this can’t be right”, and inquire, expecting that maybe they had not closely read what they were forwarding. If I found it to be intentional, then I would block them too.

If you are offended by Ramona than stop following Ramona. I don’t like that Quincy is somehow beat up over something Ramona did. So much so that she is not posting anymore.

(whispering) Quincy you said you’d be here for me. I need your advice & your friendship.

  42. sammyjoesmom says:

I have just looked at the twitter pages and the timeline concerning the whole Ramona thing. The girl who tweeted it to Ramona had been tweeting to Ramona non-stop to try to get Ramona to tweet the girls “one hit wonder”. The girl also tweeted it to Luann, Jill, Sonya and I believe Kelly (although I am blocked by Kelly and I am not 100% positive of that one.) Somehow it was tweeted from Ramona’s account. I do not for one second believe Ramona tweeted it to be mean or vulgar. I am not even sure if Ramona even tweeted it herself. Maybe Ramona’s kid tweeted it for her. Hell, her phone may have been layed on by the dog and sent out, just like when my cat lays on my remote control and changes the channel. I am just saying all this to say that I don’t believe Ramona is somehow now an evil racist. I am sure she is upset, embarrassed and horrified by what has transpired. She didn’t need to send it to Luann. It was already sent to Luann. Ramona made a mistake, just like I do every 5-10 minutes. ( I don’t use the “N” word but then again I am offended when someone says a whole bunch of words.) I put my foot in my mouth on a regular basis here. Hell, I am probably doing it right now. Quincy, please don’t stop posting. You make sense out of stuff I cannot understand without your input and you keep peace here better than anyone else could imagine doing.

    • Zipit Zarin says:

I think she sent it to LuAnn to be on the up and up about what she was doing. She’s not sneaky like Foghorn.

  43. HD says:

What does Taylor do for a living? She keeps mentioning a business.

    • sammyjoesmom says:

I only knew about the womans shelter volunteer work but she may be talking about mom work?

    • Zipit Zarin says:

It was mentioned so long ago that I’ve forgotten and she never talks about it so I highly doubt she does much of anything except sign checks. Something to do with computers? Consulting?

  44. HD says:

Okay….what the eff is wrong with Nick’s wife? Is she nuts? She just stood right there while they kissed on the lips. There is not enough friendship in the world.

Maybe she and Nick laugh about it later whilst he’s gargling with Lysol.

    • RubyNewbie says:

I dunno. Maybe she’s cool with him being Camille’s personal gigolo. Probably pays well. At least it better. Camille…she makes my skin crawl.

I’m trying to piece it all together as well. I think it’s a misunderstanding? I think it’s better to engage in dialogue, agree or disagree. No need for anyone to leave at this point, as far as I can tell…

  47. HD says:

I wonder why Camille never asked the crazy medium what was going on in her marriage if she was growing suspect. She said, “I didn’t see this coming”. Maybe the medium could have. :)

I has a question: Is that Alex Sonja is throwing out of her house in the RHONY promo, or Kelly?

    • NMhousewife says:

I personally think it is Alex. If so, it’s a shame as I was hoping they would be friends.

    • BessiB says:

I am going as far as to say it is definitely Alex. It is the same new hair cut.

Plus, Alex’s ‘new and speak-her-mind’ persona does not really fit her. I don’t think it is easy for her so she does not do it well – clunky, as she has said. So I think in trying to assert herself, she is going to piss them off.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

Gosh- I hope it isn’t Alex more so because I hope there isn’t fall out on the blog over it with the two camps of Team Alex and Team Sonja. I have noticed that it does look like they tweet each other.

I do too. The medium’s use reflected very poorly on such a great product. LOL!

    • California35 says:

I saw that “electric cigarette” in a movie (the tourist). In the movie, it was supposed to be a cigarette that help people quit, but that it still has some nicotine. Like to slowly make you quit. I wanted to post about it, but forgot. Any ways, the one on BHHW it is supposed to be a fake and no nicotine cigarette…that still now I can’t figure out how there can be fake smoke or (steam).

      • kotagirl29 says:

As far as I know the electronic cigarettes give off “smoke” in the form of vaporized water that still tastes like a cigarette. So basically you are puffing on smog. I don’t know. I smoke and I sure as heck don’t do it for the taste.

  51. RubyNewbie says:

Taylor seems to be fundamentally incompatible with Russell. A lot of marriages end like this–no big blow outs or cheating scandals–just stop enjoying each other’s company. I think her background with the domestic violence has caused her to settle for less. She convinced herself he was a catch because of his wealth. Another example of money not buying happiness.

    • HD says:

At first I thought maybe he was having an affair but after tonight I thought maybe not. I think they were never compatible. She said he didn’t dance at their wedding. Even if he didn’t like to dance he could have sucked it up. She probably thought he would change, that she could change him. Life doesn’t work that way. I would leave him and be happy. You only have one life.

      • Dawn says:

Russell seems socially awkward to me. He doesn’t seem to engage with well with others. I wonder how well his social skills serve him in business and if he’s required to use them often.

        • RubyNewbie says:

My hubby is much more of a social butterfly than I am. The man can work a room. I’m not great with the small talk although I’ve gotten better at it. However, when we have a social obligation, I suck it up, give myself a pep talk, and do the damn thing! I’d never leave him high and dry at a party or event. Can’t Russell ever take one for the team?

        • BessiB says:

What I don’t get, is that he has hung out with the guys to socialize several times en camera. He showed up then.

But in mixed company, it seems to be a chore, and in Vegas he even left to go to another city to play golf for the day.

      • Zipit Zarin says:

Ok this might sound racist but tough. “White men only dance to get laid.” I heard that and laughed my azz off. Cuz it’s true most of the time. LOL

      • Zipit Zarin says:

        Why did he marry HER?

      • BessiB says:

One thing is for sure, Taylor’s telling it all to the camera is not going to change him, just

    • klmh says:

Taylors childhood was dysfunction at best. She has no basis for what or how a marriage should be, imo.

      • HD says:

And in going with that KLMH, she has no idea of her own worth. She deserves to dance with her mate. She deserves to sit and drink champange with her girlfriends. Too often us a women do not know what we deserve because no one has ever taught us our value. So we settle. And Taylor settled for Russell and now she is growing, discovering herself and understanding that in life she wants a little piece of happiness as we all do.

        • klmh says:

Well said. She has been able to become friends with some housewives who have great marriages and she is seeing what she didn’t know she should have and experience.

      • klmh says:

al at the end of dysfunction.

    • California35 says:

I think he has $ and is nothing like what she had growing up. In other words she mig have liked that he is a calm man, that he has no aversive personality, etc. Th ebad thing is that it is waaaay too calm for her…because she wants to have fun. He does seem very uncomfortable and like he tries. I have noticed that he tries when he is with the guys, like when he was asking them for advise. They both might be noticing something is off, but neither knows how to fix it. Maybe they both have but since they are so different, they can’t any more. If there is love and they both try not only by talking to others, but to each other there can be a solution, BUT she cant change him. I know many men like him (or like we see in camera). They mean no harm, their mind is somewhere else.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

I don’t think her background caused her to ‘settle’ for less.
I think she married for money and it motivated what she was looking for in a mate rather than comparability. Now, I suspect that the money is not there and she is becoming increasingly aware that there isn’t that much else going on.

  52. RubyNewbie says:

Any thoughts on Cedric’s hard knock life? I certainly hope he’s telling the truth. I would also hope the Vanderpumps would do a little background check before allowing him into their inner circle. If he was a foster kid, there should be some records.

Anyway, if it is all true, then maybe he does deserve to lounge in luxury for a little while.

    • HD says:

      I believed him.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

I think I believe him too, maybe parts of it are embellished but from all accounts he was with the Vanderpumps/Tods since he was 15- he was running from something- even if it was parents who wouldn’t except him because of his sexuality.

    • CdnFillie58 says:

I didn’t believe him…he’s an actor and not a good one at that. He creeps me out and I still think there’s a connection with him and Lisa and Ken…JMHO

  53. error404 says:

tonight’s episode cut a little too close to home

    a. Mr 404 is Lisa to my Ken. I love that he’s generous and always taking in strays, but most of these “friends” really just take advantage of us. In the past 5 years we’ve probably had about only 5 fights , all of them about “friends” who won’t get out.

    b. A good friend is going thru a Taylor/Russell thing. She really shouldn’t compare herself to us, like Taylor does to Kyle, because we are us, and they are them. No, I’d never marry a Russell or our friend’s husband, but having said that, I think they both need to accept their husbands for who they are instead of always dwelling on everything that they are not. Kyle was wrong IMO. I never tell my friend stuff like that. I don’t think these women are wrong to want a husband that stays out with them, but hello! Have you met them? Don’t marry a guy who doesn’t share your interests, and then spend the next 15 years trying to change him or putting him down for not being who he isn’t.

    • Dawn says:

Error, I like your comments re: (b). Appreciate what you have. Celebrate your differences. Try not to compare. WORK at making it work. Look inside yourself to find out what YOU can improve. It’s amazing – when we stop trying to force change in others they often respond to changes we make in ourselves.

      • HD says:

Taylor needs to recognize she married Russell. She did not marry Kyle’s husband. As long as she continues to compare she will never be happy, this is true. On the flip side of that, I think seeing Kyle and her husband is making her truly, truly think about her marriage to Russell. I am not so sure she is comparing however thinking of what she truly wants.

She wants to be happy. She needs to face the fact that with him she never will be. He is not going to dance, he is not going to kiss you passionately in a crowded room, he is not going to stay at the Vegas trip instead of leave for business during the trip. He is going to be who he is. Once she realizes that, she has a decision to make and often times it is a hard decision. Been there, done that, got a T-shirt, sent out postcards.

    • buffywood says:

What ‘s that saying? “A man marries a woman thinking that she will never change and a woman marries a man thinking he will”.

    • Cusi77 says:

So true Error. I unfortunately live that with my parents. My mom wanted so much that my father were like her sisters’s(?) husbands… was painful for my sisters and I to see my mom, for years, trying to make my dad someone he wasn’t instead of loving him for who he was. At least we learned that you get what you see.

I wish you would not leave, but I understand. You will be missed.

    ….
Top Chef. I adore Casey but she compulsively volunteers for things. Last week Jamie wouldn’t send her hideous chickpeas 1st so Casey served. This week Casey jumps in to work the floor. Not the smartest way to work a competition.

Jamie not only served 2 awful dishes during elimination but also during the quickfire.

Are the producers using Jamie for drama? Marcel has matured this season and all of the other chefs are more subdued & practiced in front of the cameras.

I hope next week we see the other chefs beat up on Jamie.

    • Zipit Zarin says:

Good catch Adgirl! Foghorn didn’t send it to herself. And the double O’s. Gawd, she’s so stooopid and thinks she’s so clever.

  57. NMhousewife says:

I’m on my second viewing of RHWofBH. I agree with Kim that the man should call the lady if he is interested. To me, Martin seems to be an aging playboy who is used to older ladies chasing him. I see no chemistry between those 2. The other ladies should leave Kim alone and badger Martin why he isn’t making an effort if he is interested. just my humble opinion.

With each episode, I like Kim more and Taylor less, even with her marriage woes.

  58. Adgirl says:

Quincy, I just read a bunch of posts upthread. I am sorry that your voice will be absent. I hope you are just taking a vacation from posting here.

I can guess why you are opting out of posting. I personally will miss your insights dearly. (( quincy ))!!

  59. Sparkles says:

Weighing in on a few threads:

    – Tonight’s show was very sympathetic to Taylor, but I’m not feeling it. I don’t see Russell treating her poorly. They’re simply not very compatible. He’s an introvert; she’s an extrovert. I agree with others that this is what happens when you marry for money more than love, and now Taylor sees happier marriages and realizes what she is missing. But it’s her own fault for being shallow/materialistic. A few episodes ago, her words of inspiration to children from troubled homes was “you, too, can grow up to live in Beverly Hills” — as if that is the crowning accomplishment to which we should all aspire. Very telling. You’d think she’d say “you, too, can grow up to have a happy family life.”

    – Something about Cedric’s story felt odd to me.

    • MichellefromNY says:

Agreed. Cedric’s story was a bit off

    • Cusi77 says:

I agree about Cedric as well… “hard to beleive” said Kyle. I “feel” he is taking Lisa for a ride… I hope I am wrong.

      • Sparkles says:

He seemed vague when telling the story. Maybe with good reason…but something seemed off. I also thought that he said that he lived on the street for four years beginning at age seven, but then he said that he was taken in (by foster care or whatever) at age seven. Maybe I misunderstood?

        • Rabble Rouser says:

I thought he said he lived on the streets for a year with his mother at 7 but was also in fostercare care at that age- I can’t remember exactly but I agree that I also noticed there seemed to be a overlap in time. I just figured it might have been because he was so young when this happened that maybe he had no real sense of it.

    • Katie says:

Totally agree with you on both Taylor and Cedric. I thought I read somewhere that Cedric no longer lives with them or works with them – could have this confused but thought I read it. BTW Taylor’s blog is up and to me she is totally excusing the whole night and seems to be taking back the complaining she did that night. I agree with your take on their marriage. I’m starting to think Taylor wanting it all and at times whines about the situation she put herself in.

  60. MichellefromNY says:

What’s with kim and kyle whipping their hair in a pony like a lasso when they dance?

Also, I’m happy camille is finally acting somewhat normal now, but she is SOOOOO fake and she has got to stop kissing nick on the lips. Sorry, but that is extremely inappropriate behavior. I like what kyle and bethanny both said how they would not stand for that sort of behavior. Although she behaved better, camille still went on how the women are jealous of her because they won’t wear a bikini. And giving kyle that book in kyle’s house was also inappropriate. A bit below the belt. I’m starting to realize that camille is just very insecure as the ladies said originally.

Camille is also sooo awkward. I think she’s slightly socially awkward, especially among women. I think she’s more at home with flirting than having small talk amongst acquaintances. Whenever she’s calling the housewives to set up a “date”, I always cringe. She’s just so awkward! and it just exacerbates her fakeness.

    • Katie says:

Perhaps when you surround yourself with yes people who are on your payroll and keep telling you that everyone is jealous of you and you equate having money with having class – you end up being socially awkward and not fitting in like Camille.

I still feel very bad for her and what Kelsey did/how he did it – it doesn’t excuse anything totally different issues and I still feel bad for her regarding the whole marriage mess.

      • MichellefromNY says:

yes agreed. There is no excusing cheating. But camille is a train wreck. I can see why he did what he did but it still does not excuse him. He is a d-bag and an idiot for not getting a pre-nup but they’re both disgusting and the mess they’ve created for themselves was well deserved on both sides.

        • Rabble Rouser says:

          YOU ARE HERE!!!
Good to see you, I’ve been asking about you.
I’ve been wondering what your sons name is, since it wouldn’t be announced before his bris. How is he doing? How are you and DH holding up.

          • buffywood says:

I think Levi if I remember correctly.

          • MichellefromNY says:

I’ve been so busy. I barely have time for bravo and when I do, I’m too tired to post. Sigh…the life of a new mother. And yes my son’s name is levi buffywood. So nice to hear you guys missed me! I missed you guys too. I’ve been reading old stuff to keep up but I feel so out of the loop. Anyway, my baby is sooo huge! He’s already ten pounds and is turning into a person, it’s crazy. I’m still not sleeping yet but hopefully soon he’ll start sleeping for the night. Crossing fingers.

    • Adgirl says:

Camille is a little like Kelly B in her discomfort with women. She seeks attention from men to compete with women, because she doesn’t understand or like women.

I think Kelsey is a jerk for humiliating her. Alright, you are tired of your vacuous marriage. Why publicly decimate your spouse??

      • BessiB says:

The scene in the commercial for next week’s episode with Camille and Kelsey in the bedroom is extremely weird. She has a freakish smile on her face, and when he walks in, she almost seems really nervous and uncomfortable.

  61. MichellefromNY says:

Quincy, please don’t go!! your blog posts are not enough, I love reading your comments!!

  62. Wall St Lady says:

I too, noticed Taylor’s speech about abuse and was very surprised at the way she ended her speech. To equate living in Hollywood like her, with overcoming abuse showed her value system to be way off. Also to assume that others would aspire to Taylor’s life in Hollywood, was sadly, very egocentric !
I wanted to mention that Russell probably writes off all those expensive parties as a business expense figuring they r a prospecting for new business, event.
I am VERY suspicious of the ethics of anyone who bounces back from bankruptcy so quickly. It even took Trump years to come back. I think its odd the bankruptcy is never mentioned.

    • Sparkles says:

Interesting angle. And I agree with you about the bankruptcy. You’d think anyone who declares bankruptcy would have enough decency not to appear on a TV show five years later to show off their wealth (during a bad economy, no less), including a $60k birthday party for a child. That’s an abuse of getting a “fresh start.”

Also, while on the topic, Taylor’s tag line (“it might look like I have it all but I want MORE”) bugs me. If a HW is going to brag about money, I at least prefer Adrienne’s line (“money is what I have – not who I am).

But, to quote the Countess, money can’t buy you class…

      • klmh says:

Does “more” mean money, power, love, more in a marriage? I didn’t think it meant money, but maybe so…

    • klmh says:

      WSL:
I was very fortunate in my upbringing. I had loving parents and sisters. I am hard pressed to question another woman’s needs in terms of success, especially when we know that Taylor has had to deal with dysfunction, involving abuse within her family since early childhood.
She feels that she has achieved some success in her status and has found her marriage lacking, in part because she had no knowledge of what a good marriage should be about, and she, I assume has adequacy issues stemming from her past as well. She’s trying to work out the kinks I believe, and if you read her post on Bravo this evening, it sounds as though things are better in their relationship.

  63. It's Hot In Texas says:

Why did Taylor take that little cake home with her??? She got into the limo with it in her hands…

    • Dawn says:

Maybe it was for her daughter?

    • Sparkles says:

Someone left the cake out in the rain…That seemed like a pose to accentuate the tragic state of a woman leaving a party on her own. It reminded me of when Princess Diana sat by herself in front of the Taj Mahal. (Except Taylor is no Diana!)

    • nancy says:

Always thinking of hubby, To me, they have this game going.

  64. Katie says:

Did anyone else catch WWHL? I thought Bethenny was off tonight, there was a different tude or vibe and almost rude at certain times. They are usually very funny together and I was hoping there would be more questions and humor.

    • Adgirl says:

I thought she was OK. Tired looking but OK.

    • nancy says:

Is it me or does Taylor take the WOE IS ME approch? Get some balls, girl. Me thinks she likes this role. Yes, out on a limb but ggggeeeezzzzz I think this is her and hubbys thing. Stay out all night for many nights and see how fast he comes. Just saying. Quincy we may not always agree but respect your blogs. Good luck and come see us sometime. Don’t be a stranger. We all care for you.

  65. Tiffany from Dallas is my fav. Her restaurant is so off the chain! I should make a tribute video for her. Ha

  66. Adgirl says:

Taylor & Russell. I am married to a Russell, my husband is nerdy and I love it. this is my second marriage. My first marriage was to wonderful guy who couldn’t say to anyone – especially to lending money or to a get rich quick scheme. After a while I tired of lurching from disaster to disaster.

I am 10x happier now, but I was very thoughtful in selecting my 2nd. I love him deeply. I adore his dry sense of humor. Party animal? Nope. Thank God.

Stop whining and examine yourself Taylor.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

My husband is kind of Russel-ish too. He suffers from social anxiety, he doesn’t like crowds or even going out to dinner in a busy restaurant. I think if we had met while I was still in my early 20’s still a part girl who wasn’t ready to settle down, we wouldn’t have worked as a couple.

Now I am at a place in my life where I would prefer an intimate gathering of close friends than a club type of scene, especially with two young kids because I pay for it the next morning.

I am on the other hand, much more outgoing. He is the ying to my yang

      • California35 says:

My BF is friendly and can joke stuff, but he doesn’t do well or care for big parties and dancing. I’m okay with it, I was never a party person either. I do think I would like from time to time do something fun like that, but knowing he won’t enjoy himself, I don’t even try. Neither of us will enjoy it that way. We do find things we both enjoy and that is what we do. Also, I know that relationships move on from the party style to a more stay at home style, specially when there are children or get older. They are simply too different, i felt bad for her on this episode, but again, I think she could do something about it,…like not expect him to be like her for starters. Then like others suggested, she could start doing things he likes with him and start enjoying that, if that doesn’t work then at least she will realize that like she is not enjoying his activities he doesn’t enjoy hers, and she will accept it. She can then figure that it is ok to be different and that each can do their own thing, and some times do thing together. Also, hallooo! She has a daughter, she can find TONS of activities with her.

    • California35 says:

I think he has $ and he is nothing like what she had growing up. In other words she might have liked that he is a calm man, that he has no agresive personality, etc. The bad thing is that it is waaaay too calm for her…because she wants to have fun. He does seem very uncomfortable and like he does try. I have noticed that he tries when he is with the guys, like when he was asking them for advise. They both might be noticing something is off, they both sick out advice, but neither of them knows how to fix it. Maybe they both have but since they are so different, they can’t any more. If there is love and they both try not only by talking to others, but to each other there can be a solution, BUT she cant change him or nag him. I know many men like him (of what we see in camera). They mean no harm, their mind is somewhere else.

  67. Adgirl says:

Camille is a little like Kelly in her discomfort with women. She seeks attention from men to compete with women.

Kansas girl. Thank you. ! I never thought to bring the pots close to the wall. Good idea. For the future, r u saying that it doesn’t matter weather u prune in the Fall or the Spring. Or is one time better ?
May of 2010 I got some “roses” that looked & bloomed more like carnations. I hope they are perennials. Do u know this kind of rose ?
    Thank u again Kansas and
    also Sammyjoe’sMom &
    Quincy too,
    for your kind words and
    the advice for my roses.
    Big hug & kiss &
    a rose on your
    Pillow,

    • Kansas Girl says:

I wonder if you’ll find this response, now that we moved on to a new post? Now I’m imagining you and WSM out in the cold, driving snow (good imagination, huh?) dragging heavy pots around the terrace. LOL. I don’t know what the answer is about pruning. I’ve tried both and it seems to make no difference. Once when I pruned in the fall, we had a warm spell and the roses put out leaves and shoots, which then froze as it got back to normal winter. That seemed a waste. Since I have a break from work every March (spring break), I’ve gotten in the habit of doing my pruning then. But what you have inadvertently achieved is fall pruning. It will be an experiment! I was just thinking this morning that my roses grow in zone 5, but I don’t know what NY is. And you being higher up, you might be in a slightly different zone than whatever the ground is! Do you have trees on the terrace too? You may have your own ecosystem! I’m thinking that you miss having a yard and garden, and have managed to create that in the city. (Which is cool.)

I don’t know what kind of roses look like carnations. Do you remember the name? I have one that smells like green apples! I don’t remember if that’s Guy de Maupesant (sp?) or Blanche something. I should Google so I know!

How much snow did you get?

  69. skogsstig says:

    Quincy –
Sorry to see you feel you have to stop posting. Yours has been a voice of reason, always speaking in measured tones, respectful of the different points of view being expressed here, and always welcoming to new posters.
Glad to see you will continue to guest blog.
Thank you for all your positive contributions!

    • WAIT A MINUTE what does that mean? Quincy is not blogging anymore? not posting anymore?
My laptop caught a virus a few days ago (it was a site on Jill that the virus was caught, IMO) i have been unable to keep up w/ Lynnblog because of that.
I get on husbands desktop for a few minutes and I read that Quincy is leaving?
WTF….please someone direct me to where Quincy says this so i can read it
myself.. i am so sad. i know this cannot be true.
      Please don’t leave Quincy, please………………………………

      • BessiB says:

About 7:31 pm she said she is going to continue to guest blog, but leaving the board. I don’t know what that means.

        • error404 says:

          IIRC she said:
          1. I will still write blogs
          2. I will still read other’s comments
          3. I will not post my own comments

          • error404 says:

She also said earlier that in her blogs she writes impartially, sticking more to basic recap than editorializing. It is in her comments that she lets more of her personal opinions out.

  70. lillybee says:

Taylor knew Russell was a nerd when she married him. He didn’t dance. He didn’t party. Taylor shouldn’t expect him to change.

  71. lillybee says:

Here is a hint, Taylor, find out what Russell likes to do and do it with him.

    • Adgirl says:

      What you said. Praise be.

Taylor is needy emotionally and Russell is suppressed. Whaaa? She is unhappy and he doesn’t get it? I’m shocked.

    • BessiB says:

I think her whole thing is that Russell does not like to do much – but work. We do know he plays golf, so she could do that I guess.

But she also has implied that she works with him (their marriage is 80% business). She is with him, just disconnected.

      • lillybee says:

If she married him for the life style he can give her , suck it up and try to make him happy. He is never going to be what he isn’t.

  72. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Beverly in New Jersey, there is no shortcut. You will have to hunker down and read the whole thread in order to draw your own conclusions. Quincy said she thought long and hard but does not give a reason why. If you read it seems very apparent why. I sunscribe to each blog and receive EVERY post via e-mail yet I’m confused as well. I wish I could give you a condensed version of events but that would be a disservice to all involved. Todays events have been very revealing to me. Those who get it I thank wholeheartedly, those who don’t I feel sorry for.

    • kmuellfa says:

Forgive me if I don’t explain myself clearly, I’m only on my first cup of java. I’m confused by your post here.
TLD, you said it “seems apparent” why Q left, but you said you are confused as well. I just read the thread again and I can’t find what Q did that was so offensive. I’m not even talking about the horrible tweet and Ramona’s actions. I guess I’m frustrated because I feel as though attitudes and beliefs were so easily & readily ascribed to Q even though they are so obviously out of character for her. That is what I don’t “get”.
No disrespect, just trying to understand.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

I am not sure if I understand it all myself. I could read there was a discussion and different POV on the whole Ramona thing- but it didn’t seem argumentative to me. I think that because she is someone high profile with her guest blogging- she has been taking a few more ‘hits’ lately. When she wrote the blog about her trip to Chicago a now former member had a very strong and negative reaction to it- and said some things that IMO weren’t very nice.
I think she might just want to avoid drama or potential drama.

This is why I don’t get too deep into my political beliefs here or respond to the political or really polarizing stuff. I like this being the place where I don’t ‘get into it’ with other regular posters. :)

    • @TLD-i have read everything. over and over.
Your feelings were hurt at what transpired(rightfully so-i would not be happy if i received such an offensive tweet, as you did)
I think you handled everything very well, when you realized that Q did not
justify Ramona, you were content to let it be. (jan 6 @ 6;51)

but it wasn’t put to rest, as it should have been, and now it seems you are being blamed for Q taking her break. this is not your fault, i don’t blame you for being hurt and pissed.
You’re such a good person and you don’t deserve this……………………..

  73. Zipit Zarin says:

Here’s the gist of why Quincy left: Ramona exposed to others what she saw via a youtube of LuAnn’s daughter Victoria using the “N” word. Quincy didn’t have the correct response according to the PC rules of engagement. She was admonished for it. She felt people should know her enough by now to know her heart. They didn’t. She’s sick of dealing with PC. I get her. I’ve been sick of PC since it became the rule of law without having to BE in a court of law. It makes people shut up …that is the purpose of it. Notice it’s worked in her case. It won’t work with me. Be upset with why I say..I don’t really give a rip. The most pernicious per·ni·cious   /pərˈnɪʃəs/ Show Spelled

Well I don’t know about anyone else but short of cussing someone out I am going to say what I want to. That has always been my personality. I am not into group think and I am not into remaining silent. I will not always agree with everyone here. No one is a replica of me nor would I want them to be. Newsflash people think differently and can voice that. I certainly will.

      1. Bethanny looks tired and overworked and all her complaining is working my nerves. If she does all that whining on BGM2 I will not watch it. I got enough to complain about in my own life.
      2. Camille is nuts.
      3. Ramona is a jack-hole for retweeting a message with the N word in it.
      4. I am on to the Countess and her stupid remarks.
      5. And last but certainly not least, I hate Jill Zarin. Yes, I said the word hate. And yes that is what I meant. I used the hate word. I will not take it back.

      ZipIt,
Exactly, a very outspoken, aggressive and combative PC control that will keep coming at you and hammering you to acquiesce.

    • MichellefromNY says:

Agreed. It’s like you’re not allowed to think negatively of anyone who happens to be a minority even if as an individual they deserve to be thought of negatively. But if you’re white and male, you can call them every bad name in the book and even make generalizations based on their white race, aka red neck jokes. It’s frustrating and no way to live. Obviously overt racism is not ever appropriate. But valid criticism should never be silenced in the name of pc.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

I think you are great- I love your sassiness.

  74. Zipit Zarin says:

Dammit, I ruined a good rant by saying “why” instead of “what” in that sentence.

  75. California35 says:

Noticed I’m awake so late? I think I’m alone on the wall. I was so sleepy by 9 and felt asleep before or by 10. Then I woke up at 11:30 and just couldn’t sleep. I moved to the living room so I won’t wake up the BF, I am finally feeling sleepy now, but I was able to catch up with all the posting…or I think I did, might have missed some.

Quincy, I hope you don’t leave.

    Good night everyone.

  76. jeang says:

I do not ever recall seeing Quincy attack anyone on this blog and yet today, the claws were out for her. I dont come here to see us attack each other. This was not a good day here IMO and makes me wonder why I stay. Most of us here are adult women and men with children, grandchildren, families, friends and jobs and never expect to come here to enjoy our comparisons and opinions of the housewives and be forced to explain ourselves. What a disappointing and disturbing way for Quincy to feel she had to leave us.

  77. HD says:

This is complete OT but I am sure you all have heard by now of Ted Williams the homeless man with the Golden Voice who is now famous! When I see him I am still quite certain there is some good left in the world! What an amazing story!

    • boston02127 says:

HD–I’ve been following that story. I’m so happy for him. They had his mom on the news too.

      • BessiB says:

I saw something about him getting a bunch of offers, but is it out about what he is going to do?

    • Rabble Rouser says:

It such a great story- I hope the sudden thrust into spotlight doesn’t compromise his sobriety and have him lose it all again. I saw some of the reunion with his mother today- it was great.

  78. Zarout! says:

So, has the subject of Camille quitting the HW’s been covered already? I’m assuming so. I have 2 crazy little ones running around here so I don’t have time to go back and read, but I’m dying to hear opinions.
P.S. I have followed this blog since the 1st hub pages, I may not post often, but I’ve been here. It seems like every time I post though, no one responds :( I’m thinking it’s either a) I’m not in the club OR, the more likely reason, b) my posts are boring…LOL! Oh well, I still enjoy reading most of the stuff on here anyway :)

    • boston02127 says:

@Zarout–Good morning. I think Camille a.k.a. ChemPeal is leaving. There was a link to the story. I’ve been busy and just quickly buzzing thru the posts too. I’m glad you’re here & posting. I hope you have a good day.

    • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

You are not alone~believe me. A bit more child like here than I thought it would be. Sometimes if you are agreeing with everyone they talk to you. If not it can be very quiet.
Peace Love & Hugs to You Zarout~

      • HD says:

Wow @ Baba, I am a little surprised you said that “childlike” comment but perception is everything and maybe I see something different. Such is life.

Good morning, Zarout. I just post what I want. Sometimes people comment sometimes they don’t. I just feel good getting it out since Bravo blocks comments! Uhhhhhhhhh. Also a lot of times people already say what I wanted to say so no use in me saying the same thing. At any rate, good morning and I’m glad you posted! :) I am off to work. See ya’ll in a few.

      • dsc60 says:

’tis always quite quiet where i’m concerned. i swore i wouldn’t post again, but i did ’cause i just had to say “i get how you feel.” that’s it… back to reading only.

    • error404 says:

Re: non-response. This is very typical for the web. On other sites where there’s an “ignore” feature, I’d sometimes get paranoid that everyone had blocked me! LOL In truth, you’ll get more responses for an unpopular comment than a commonly held one.

Re: Camille. Like most of this “news” stuff, my head is spinning with the updates: she’s quitting; no she can’t quit; yes, her lawyer convinced Bravo to let her quit; no she won’t quit until she sees if they are nice to her at the reunion show; yes she quit… butter, parquet, butter, parquet! Sorry, I’ve lsot track on what the latest is.

I’ve been up since 3 a.m. I’m staying home today, both my ears are hurting so bad. If my computer mom Quincy was here she would be giving me some advice on what to do. I’m going back to bed. Blech…today.

    • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Hi Boston~google ear aches & see what comes up for home remedies. I do it all the time till I can get to a dr. Sounds like sinus infection.

      • vilzvet says:

Hope you don’t need anti b’s which would mean a trip to the doctor.

        • BessiB says:

You probably need antibiotic for the infection, but for the hurt:

This may sound really really weird and I only did it once many years ago, but quarter and boil an onion, wrap it in a cloth, lay on your side an hold it to your ear.

I thought it helped to sooth the ear ache.

    • Kat says:

Boston, take an analgesic for the pain. Take your temp first.
If Tylenol or Advil don’t help the pain call your doc.

      Feel Better!

    • error404 says:

call your doc. Eyes and ears are two things you don’t want to take risks with.

I once took to my bed with a cold. When I woke up, I stood up, and fell flat on the floor. Then I threw up. Turned out my sinus infection had traveled to my ear and it was throwing off my balance. It took two days of anti-bi and not moving before I was semi-normal again.

Update on the shocking news: Johnny Weir is only gay in a sexual way. He would marry a woman tomorrow, as marriage is about others things than sex.

    So, show of hands:
How many women here are dying to marry a flamboyantly gay uneducated past-his-prime retired athlete with poor spending habits who won’t sleep with you?
    Anyone?
    Anyone?

  83. Diana says:

Please ignore the “cozy vibes” thing at the end of my name, an artifact from posting on a different wordpress blog. I was just known on here as plain old Diana for my short time here.

  84. BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

    Thank you Diana~
That explains a lot. Very sweet of you to tell me.

  85. Kat says:

@Quincy, I read that you made your decision to leave over several days.
I’ve tried to catch up on the past blogs I’ve missed. I’m unable to put the pieces together. I’ve read some odd things here and there but the reasoning behind those posts remain known only to the poster. I was saddened to see the posts directed at you.
I’ve read the tweet posts from today too. Ramona is … an idiot.
There are many times I choose not to post on a subject or post my complete opinion, usually it’s because I don’t have the energy to make well thought out articulate comments. But silence should not be construed as anything more than what it is, silence. Silence is not an implied tacit agreement with any point of view.

I wish you the very best. I hope you reconsider and decide to stay. Take a break.
But get your butt back here quickly please! If you leave (as error404 said) it will be our loss.

  86. viki55 says:

Good Morning Everyone! I too have been around since the beginning, old hub pages days but don’t comment much any more. I am trying to catch up so sorry if this has already come up. Did anyone else think Bethenny look way to skinny on Watch What Happens last nite? She just didn’t look as heathly like she used to. I hate when women feel they much be super thin to succeed.

    • HD says:

I did. Her arms looked REALLY skinny. But I have been saying for a little while that Bethanny looks rail thin. I think she is overworked and is a new mom and probably more likely than not, is neglecting herself. I’m all for being skinny but damn, she needs to drink a few more of those margaritas. :)

  87. BessiB says:

She looked a little too thin, but she said herself, after Skating, that she needed to put on weight. So I took that as a ‘heads up’.

  88. WindyCityWondering says:

IMO, Camille can’t/won’t leave RHBH – at this point she painted herself into the villianess corner (which surprises her because she doesn’t see herself as others do) and the only logical thing she can say now is that she is quitting! Please, she knows how contracts work, if she didn’t negotiate as good a package as some of the other wives that is her fault. And she knows what editing is as well – she knows what she says and does so again that is her fault. It is unfortunate that her douchebag husband took another “wife” before divorcing her and that it is playing out both in the show and in real life – that isn’t her fault and what she is now experiencing is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

  89. AZ Girl says:

I am re-posting this from up-tread. I hope everyone reads it and reflects on what went down last night. The board now has lost a loyal poster over a tweet. A tweet that was vile and wrong but a tweet.

IMHO.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

Yes, AZGIRL, I have re read and reflected.

I had to get off the blog last night because I would have said some things that I probably would have regretted.

How is it that everyone is assuming that Quincy is leaving here because of the conversation about Ramona?

No, there were no claws out for Quincy. Every post to her was polite and respectful.

I think last night was the catalyst but I don’t believe it’s the whole reason. I have seen unpleasant comments that have been said about Quincy recently on twitter, and I have also seen other dustups that she has become involved in.

Personally, while I really like Quincy, I am disappointed she has chosen to exit like this. It appears to me that she’s using this situation as an excuse to get off the blog. IMHO it’s very passive aggressive.

Take ownership for what is really happening behind the scenes. You don’t like confrontation so you just pick up your toys and go? Seems very cowardly to me, and a way to throw anyone who’s disagreed with you under the bus.

So quincy, if you’re lurking, and I feel like you are, take a break if you’d like. Maybe when you come back you’ll be better equipped to withstand an occasional polite disagreement.

Personally, I thought it was because of the Ramona/tweet dustup because I am not on twitter and know nothing about the “behind the scenes” brou-ha-ha.
While the discussion was polite, I felt it was insinuated that Q was being insensitive and dismissive of the situation which I didn’t see at all. I saw how wires could be crossed and there could be misunderstandings, but to attribute those qualities to quincy so easily given her history here, I just don’t understand.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

because you were not the one who’s opinion that was being dismissed.

And it was precisely because of Quincy’s history here that I was surprised to see it.

And when I saw the misunderstanding I told her no problem. TLD saw there was a misunderstanding and said basically OK no problem.

So what’s the problem? There isn’t one.

Quincy used this dust up as a way to get off the board, and to throw those that called her out under the bus at the same time.

I have no respect for passive aggressive nonsense.

          • Diana says:

What I don’t understand is she seemed to almost live for this blog. Hence my “Quincy fatigue”, why would she want to quit it so abruptly? And, as you say, in such a passive aggressive way?

          • kmuellfa says:

OMIB, as to your first point, maybe you’re right…

I guess that’s what confusing to so many here, it seems as though the misunderstandings were cleared up, and then quincy up and left.

If there are other things going on behind the scenes, then it’s hard to say (as an outsider) whether or not she is being passive aggressive.

            • OneMoreInBoston says:

agreed. It is a judgment call on my part, and I may be wrong.

              You make a good point.

              • kmuellfa says:

Thanks, OMIB. I guess not knowing the whole story is the frustrating part of the whole deal.

              • Kat says:

I don’t see Q as passive aggressive. I think she cares about this blog and the posters here.

There were others things that were posted from days ago…
Heck they may not weigh in to her decision at all.

She said she had been thinking it over for several days.
I haven’t been here and only know what I’ve read, which isn’t knowing much.

The timing is unfortunate but there isn’t a good time to say goodbye.

                • Mookies1mom says:

I’ve been out with a migraine that will not go away so I’m not up to date on everything that has happened here (or in twitter land) in the last several days. But know this quincy-you will be missed.

      • klmh says:

I don’t think its quite fair to label someone as passive aggressive when you don’t know the circumstances.
Q mentioned she had been thinking about this for a while and I believe her. It might have been poor timing, but it was her decision. She doesn’t need to wait until there is an all clear on all points here.
I feel she felt an obligation to this board and its posters and took an active role in commenting on things she felt important enough to comment about, and I do think it became a full time job. She has so many other things in her life and I would imagine her diligence to posting was getting in the way of her life.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

you also make a good point.

I may not be as fair about this as I should be.

But when I have a disagreement with someone and then other posters say that “the claws were out” for quincy, even though everyone was polite and respectful, and in fact, I thought everyone had kissed and made up, I don’t know I think it’s odd. (sorry run on sentence)

          • klmh says:

She was a force of good here. I know, what a stupid thing to say, but she tried to help and protect posters. Admirable, and she will be missed. Guess some just need someone to blame for her departure.

          • mk says:

OMIB you aren’t being fair. You felt that everyone had kissed and made up. So, you were satisfied with the remarks and all was well in the world? Did you ever ask how she felt? No, you and True Life Diva swatted her with your comments and that’s all that matters. It’s our loss she is gone.

            • OneMoreInBoston says:

@mk- with all due respect to you, I didn’t “swat” anyone. My posts were polite and appropriate. I disagreed with Quincy. Period. If that is “swatting” someone than I really hope you never get into a disagreement with anyone ever, because evidently you equate it to a physical act of violence.

Furthermore how is it that Quincy’s feelings are more important than TLD’s?

Meanwhile by leaving the board in this manner, the blame is shifted to both myself and TLD, when I believe there were many other reasons that factored in her decision.

      • nancy says:

Could not agree with you more. OMIB. At times I felt Quincy became the queen of the board and if you did not agree with her she went on and on and on about how she felt she was right. Interrestin she said she was no longer going to post but she is right back at it. This is fine but man up Quincy. Tell us the whole truth why you ” left ” for a couple days. And now we have lost quite a few great posters.

    Jill’s latest tweet:

Jillzarin @bravoandy I want you to know I did call B 7 days after the reunion like I said I would. I waited for her to call me back. She never did.

    • HD says:

      Oh Jill needs to shutup!

    • error404 says:

Yes Jill. B said you called. She said you tow have never met or spoken since then.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Jill is still following Bethenny “from afar”….how sad is that?! Bethenny was very tactful at the reunion – there is no place for Jill in her life nor was she comfortable with Jill seeing the baby. Jill just can’t accept the consequences of what she did to Bethenny and the predictable outcome that her behavior is not acceptable, therefore she is not a part of Bethenny’s life any more.

Quincy, don’t go! Come back, please. I like reading your posts.

  92. WindyCityWondering says:

@ Quincy – thank you for all your guest blogs and your comments. I have always looked forward to what you had to say and you have always made me think before I snark. Know you made this community better. Know you are respected and will be missed. Maybe someday you will jump back in and I hope that you know that you will always be welcomed here.

RHoBH house tour video on Bravo site:

the houses truly reflect the personalities!

Lisa: By far the most tasteful. Her self-depricating humor let’s us know she’s in on the joke. She repeatedly refers to her house as “ridiculous” and the part about he engagement ring was hilarious.

Adrienne: Money may not be able to buy you class, but it apparently can’t buy you taste either. Once again she’s tarted up like a high earning hooker. The house? All I can say is: Dear Ms. Maloof, this is not the 19th century, you don’t live in Newport and your last name isn’t Vanderbilt. Stop. Just stop.

Taylor: Zzzzzzzzzzzzz Gee, the rich like to bbq on the patio. So unlike us common folk! White walls and no artwork anywhere. Is this a rental show house?

Camille: As bat shit crazy as she is. In a nutshell: she shows us an insanely organized seemingly unused desk that probably betrays OCD, and tells us it’s currently a mess because she’s so busy. I actually think she lives in a fantasy world of her own making.

Kyle: Like Lisa’s, very well done. Even if not my personal taste, I recognize it as tasteful. Tour ends on a funny note, showing why she’s so “likable”.

Kim: By far the most normal, which oddly just comes off as super weird. She’s been acting professionally for years, so why do I feel like I just watched something my aunt Debbie put up on facebook?

@Sammyjoesmom said, “If you are offended by Ramona than stop following Ramona. I don’t like that Quincy is somehow beat up over something Ramona did. So much so that she is not posting anymore.”

I did unfollow Ramona. MickeyMouth is the person who told me Ramona responded back to me. There was some back and forth between us. Ramona was NOT clueless, more like doing damage control. As for Quincy, aren’t you jumping to conclusions? She didn’t say why but you choose to pin the blame on this conversation…

    • Noelle says:

      Down my beauty TLD!!

You’re justified in being angry to those(me) who don’t twitter or read tweets. Why Ramona was reckless in re-tweeting is beyond me…(.she hardly re-tweets anyone.) Just an observation….
      I don’t twitter either. :)

      • Noelle says:

        The aftermath: Ramona appalled!!

Here lies my problem…Ramona almost never responds to tweets or only tweets when she’s schlepping her goods on HSN!

        Why this and now?

Jill rings a BIG bell! ;D

  95. MickeyMouth says:

The other night on twitter I noticed that TLD was upset with Ramona and I asked why. She and a few others who follow each other on twitter pointed me to Victoria’s video and stated that Ramona retweeted a link to her followers. I at first thought that Ramona must not have viewed the tape at all or in it’s entirety or she would have never retweeted something so controversial. Since Ramona had already removed the retweet from her twitter timeline someone sent me a link to a screenshot of the retweet. It stated what the contents of the tape were so that the recipient would not even have to watch the tape to be aware that Victoria would be using the “N” word and rolling a “cigarette”. I then tweeted to TLD and the others who were involved in this conversation, I also included Ramona, the following: ” @? @? @? @? The RT stated what was in the video! So doubt removed. Why @ramonasinger ???” (I removed the addresses included in the message and RT stands for retweet)

To my surprise Ramona responded. I waited to see if the others included in Ramona’s response tweet, (“it was an accident and i am appalled that it happened) would respond back. I messaged TLD and asked if she was going to respond. She stated she didn’t see the tweet because she had unfollowed Ramona. We both responded back to Ramona my response was as I stated above, ” Very hurtful accident. I hope everyone has learned something.”

I guess I don’t follow along as closely as those who state they don’t even lurk here anymore because I am totally lost on what all of this has to do with Quincy choosing to leave this board. It seems that I have some reading to do. Again as stated above, I hope Quincy reconsiders.

  96. Noelle says:

A lot of us here are not on Twitter..(it’s nice to hear gossip)but this borders on ridiculous.

    This is just my opinion!
