I Hate Jill Zarin I Love Alex & Simon June 6, 2010

I Hate Jill Zarin    I Love Alex & Simon    June 6, 2010

Alex looked so beautiful!  She really is a stunning woman!  She wore a cute shorts outfit in shocking pink, with these amazing Gucci shoes that she got in Los Angeles.   Yes, we have photos…lol

Simon had the coolest jacket on, the inside lining had photos of men in different fashions and he wore a pink shirt with his famous pink shoes!

There were a LOT of people there, all the seats that were set up were filled, people sat on the floor along the sides of the room and many standing in the back.  First was the Q&A and it could have gone on all night, great questions about their parenting style, how they got onto RHONY and about their personal life including what it’s like to film reality television.

The questions about the show were good and we got many of the answers that we’ve read in articles and TV interviews.

One important answer was about Bethenny and the birth of her baby.  Some HORRIBLE people on Twitter are saying that the birth was pre-planned and that Bethenny scheduled a C-section so that she wouldn’t gain too much weight.  ABSURD!  Alex confirmed that she talked to Bethenny while she was in labor, in fact, they were scheduled to do some filming of Bethenny’s Getting Married and had to re-schedule because she went into labor.

All of these insane people saying that Bethenny isn’t healthy and lost the weight too fast are also ridiculous!  Alex has seen Bethenny many times before and after the birth and told us that Bethenny ate whatever she wanted during and after the pregnancy and even saw her eating a Cheeseburger..lol   Bethenny’s is healthy and she is not starving herself!  She is also breast feeding which helps to take the weight off but Bethenny never gained all that much weight and continued with her yoga during  her pregnancy.

Alex is very slim as well, with all of the traveling that she does for work and for her book tour, of course, she can’t always eat right.  While in Chicago she had Portillo’s Hot Dogs and Giordano’s Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza!   Anyone visiting Chicago has to have those two Chicago staples!  Alex lived and went to school in Chicago so she is familiar with the area and even lived nearby the home that they rented while they were here in town.

Someone asked Alex if she keeps in touch with all of the other housewives.  Not a big surprise to us but she said there are a few that she is in touch with and in fact talks to on the phone at least once a day, and others that she sees only while taping.  I think we know who is who but just to be sure, Simon yelled, “BRAS”.   Later Alex did confirm to a smaller group of us that she does talk to Bethenny almost every day and they are still filming Bethenny’s show even now.  Alex and Simon will both be on Bethenny’s show, Alex has filmed 7 or 8 times for the show but they never know what is going to make it onto the screen.

After a lengthy Q & A that could have gone on much longer because there were still many with questions, the book store representative said it was time to actually start signing books.

There were, in my estimation, 150 or so people there.  Alex and Simon didn’t just sign everyone’s book.  They truly MET these people, talked with them, took photos with them.  The cutest thing, there was a little girl probably 4 or 5 years old who told Alex that she liked her ring.  Alex asked her if she wanted to try it on, but the little girl was a little shy and said, “No”.  So Alex said, “Well here hold out your hands” and the girl did and Alex put her hands over the little girl’s and showed her the ring more closely.  It was the sweetest exchange!  Even though there was a long line, Alex and Simon took the time to talk to each and every person, never rushed anyone and even had discussions about the show with them, answered more questions.  Everyone felt like they got one on one time with Alex and Simon, and they did!

I waited until the end since I knew that we were all going to Cagney’s afterward, I was in no hurry but sat up front and watched most of the people going through the line.  Men, Women, single, married, people with small children, elderly, it was really great to see such a diverse group of people there that love Alex and Simon!

When it was my turn, I didn’t have to tell them my name for the book signing. LOL   They knew who I was which was very cool and afterward  GibGirl1 took my photo with both of them and while we were taking the photo, Alex told me that Bethenny sent a message to say “HI’ to me when we met.  I thought that was so nice!  Alex said she had spoken to Bethenny on the phone the day before and wanted to send that message.  How sweet was that?  These are REALLY nice people folks!  There is no doubt in my mind that we are all on the right team!

Alex received a beautiful pair of earrings from one of the guests, Gibgrl1 gave both Alex and I both a beautiful boxed cheese and crackers arrangement from the cheese capital of the world, Wisconsin!  I brought the boys each a gift bag with a few small crafts to keep them amused, stickers, a Chicago White Sox flag along with a Chicago baseball cap and a signed practice puck from the Chicago Blackhawks.  My cousin signed a puck for each of the boys in between Stanley Cup Final’s games!

Cagney’s is just a block or so away from the book store, (that was by design as parking in Chicago is a drag!)  we walked over.   A few of us stood outside the book store as cars were loaded with gifts and things and Alex and Simon continued to answer questions and talk about the show and share their lives with us.  You hear this all the time about this amazing couple, but they really are very down to earth, sweet and open.

Alex confirmed what we already knew, Kelly was escorted off St John by producers, and everyone agreed that they would, on screen, stay with the story that Kelly chose to go home to be with her children.  I believe that it was Bethenny who first confirmed in the press that Kelly was, in fact, deemed no longer fit to film and was taken home.  Alex explained it really well, after the dinner that we saw, how could they all just sit down to breakfast the next morning and pretend nothing happened?  There really wasn’t anything more that could be filmed with all of these ladies together.

The bridal shower that we saw for Ramona and Bethenny was pre-planned and only Alex, Sonja and Kelly knew that the shower was to include both of them and not just Ramona.  Kelly did bring gifts for both Bethenny and Ramona.  Kelly left the gifts outside of Alex’s door before leaving St. John.  Really cute background story about the Swarovski crystal wrist bands that Alex got for the ladies, the woman who designed them called Alex after she saw the show and thanked her for the exposure and offered to send Alex a set as well, which Alex, of course, accepted.  They were really cool!  I bet Sonja went out and bought a set!

We got to Cagney’s and rearranged tables and chairs so that we could have another Q&A in a more intimate setting.  Some people were coming and going so it was hard to tell exactly how many people were there but at one point, I did a quick head count and there were 34 people but I would guess overall about 50 came to say hi and hear them speak.  Alex nursed just one glass of wine but admitted she likes her drinks but she can hold her liquor well!

We all sat together for about an hour talking and laughing, (fans who showed up had great questions and insights into the show) Simon went over to the bar to get himself another drink and a few people went over to talk with him there.  Simon is so easy to talk to and he is really hysterical.  At one point he even gave us a few bars of “Money Can’t Buy You Class” and honestly, he would have been a better one to record a song than Lulu (as he called her)  Simon told us that really Luann can be a great person, but as he said on Watch What Happens Live, there is Luann and then there is the “Countess” and he much prefers Luann!

Simon talked about next season and what he thought may happen as far as the cast is concerned.  Obviously he would be in favor of letting Kelly get the rest she needs and would be quite happy if he never saw Jill Zarin again (as would the rest of us)  He explained how it works, about a month after the final show airs, and he anticipates three more episodes, two reunion shows and one “lost footage”, the powers that be over at Bravo will do all of their research.  They look at many different sources to determine who is popular, who is bringing in ratings and who may not be bringing in ratings.  They look at fan mail, comments on Bravotv.com  they look at everything out there on the internet, including sites like this one.  Magazine articles, fan feedback, anything they can get their hands on to determine popularity of a housewife. They pull together as much information as they can and determine what would be best for next season.

Simon said that when they first were looking for cast (and Alex was the first one originally cast) they were having a hard time finding people who were willing to participate.  Sonja was even asked to be on the original cast and turned it down.  Now, Simon told us that they are lined up to do the show.  People are begging to be one of the housewives!  He absolutely thinks that Ramona will be returning, he believes that Sonja had plenty of support to come back and everyone else is up in the air.   I think he was being modest because I truly believe that Alex has so much public support and has climbed to one of the fan favorites so while Simon wasn’t overly confident, I think it is safe to say that Alex will be invited back.

Simon felt that Luann will most likely stick around and Jill is really a crapshoot!  Her popularity took a nosedive and he really put it best by explaining how during Season one, Alex and Simon were at the bottom of the popularity list so there was no way to go but up!  That worked well in their favor and he even expressed a little concern over whether they could maintain that popularity.  Personally I feel that now that people have gotten to know them, fans will stick by them!  Jill, being one of the fan favorites during seasons one and two, could possibly have maintained it, but how long can you hide the real you?  Jill was lucky she hid it as long as she did!  We are seeing the real Jill Zarin folks!  This isn’t news to me because we see what she does in “real life” on Amazon, in her blogs, on Facebook and on Twitter.  It isn’t pretty!

As far as Bethenny returning, Simon seemed to think it was a good possibility but anything can happen!

Simon talked a little about his mother back in Australia and I asked him what she thought of the show.  It is aired all over the world including Australia and Simon admitted that his mother wasn’t too happy with Simon’s involvement with Real Housewives until she read the book.  She was so proud of her son and knew that the book probably wouldn’t have been possible without the show, Simon actually got very emotional telling me that story.

I asked Alex about Kelly’s tweets the night of the finale and the Watch What Happens Live show.  I think everyone knows the story but a quick update:   Kelly insisted in an interview that she was forced to go to St. John.  On WWHL, it was a caller who asked Andy Cohen about Kelly being forced to go to St. John.  Andy stressed that she was not forced to go and shortly after Kelly tweeted that she WAS forced and basically called Andy a liar.  Since Alex and Simon were disembarking at O’Hare during this drama, and Kelly has deleted those tweets, Alex had not seen any of that but she did know about it.  I wanted to know about a particular tweet where Kelly said that Bravo didn’t pay her, Shed Media paid her , which was Kelly’s response to many tweets from fans telling her it was probably not a good idea to call her boss a liar on Twitter.

Alex explained that while it is true, Shed Media does pay the Housewives and production staff, Bravo pulls the strings, approves the budget and has complete control over what appears on the air.  Bravo, and not Shed Media, will decide who is on the show and who isn’t.  In essence, Andy could be considered their boss.  The way Alex put it was to think of him as an executive or a “higher up” at a subsidiary or parent  company.

I asked Alex about the cat urine smell and told her what I had learned about Crystal Meth smelling like cat urine and many of the blogs out there that talk about the connection between drugs and sweets and Kelly’s behavior.  Alex clearly didn’t know how these things all came together admitting she knows nothing about these types of drugs.  I explained what I read on the internet about how the use of Meth causing the type of behavior we saw, caused the user to crave sweets and smelled like cat urine.  Alex did not smell any cat urine but acknowledged that her stateroom was well away from Kelly’s but added that she has never seen any housewife using any type of illegal drugs.

Of course we asked Alex about Kelly’s behavior on St. John and to explain what the ladies were all saying about her behavior being ten times worse than what we saw.  She reiterated what Bethenny said, that if they continued to film and/or aired more of what went on, there may have been severe consequences for Kelly.  Alex said it is difficult to explain exactly what went on but added that we would have basically just seen a lot more of the same strange behavior.  Alex explained that Kelly has a very high and unusual standard about what she deems appropriate to talk about.  When someone says something that Kelly doesn’t like, she tends to talk over them or tells them to “zip it!”  She doesn’t want to hear it.  When Kelly hears what she feels is “gossip” she basically does the equivalent of plugging her hears and saying “lalalalalala” as loud as she can.   The comment Kelly made about having to police the women was more about trying to stop everyone from discussing Kelly’s behavior than gossiping about anyone else.

Alex explained the timeline for us, the get together at Jen’s house where both Ramona and Alex had arguments with Jill, took place just a few days before they left for St. John.  Bethenny had been out of town at her father’s funeral and this was the first time they had seen each other.  Ramona simply wanted to tell Bethenny what she missed, particularly since it involved Bethenny!  In Kelly’s mind this was inappropriate gossiping and wanted no part of it. Instead of removing herself or just sitting quietly and ignoring it, Kelly overreacted and went off the deep end calling them all demented and sick.  I think that what Kelly deems “appropriate” is maybe not what a typical person would think of as appropriate.  Alex confirmed, just as Andy did that Kelly was not forced to do anything, in fact Alex explained that they are never forced to go anywhere that they don’t want to go.

Alex also let us in on a few tidbits about Jill’s surprise appearance on St. John and cleared up a few things about the private plane.  First we know that Bravo paid for the trip.  Bravo did not pay for Jill’s journey to St. John.  Jill did try to discourage some of the cast from going on the trip, even trying to set up a second trip and lure the ladies to join her.  Bravo ultimately decided the itinerary and all of the ladies were invited.  As we know, no one was forced to go.

Alex said that Andy’s “real time line” was pretty close and said that Jill and Bobby spent approximately 30-minutes at the house.  Alex’s reaction was real and she said she even dropped her drink but because her drink was in a plastic cup rather than a glass one, it didn’t have the right impact for television.  (lol)  Alex said she wasn’t upset, she was angry and pointed out the irony of being in the middle of getting pedicures so no one could get up and walk out.

One of the crew/production staff members asked all of the ladies jokingly what they would do if Jill happened to show up, Alex and Bethenny both said that they would leave and spend the afternoon at a local restaurant that they had wanted to try anyway.  When the ladies asked if he was asking for a specific reason, his response was that Bravo was not bringing Jill to St. John.  That wasn’t a lie, Jill and Bobby brought themselves to St. John!  As we know there are no airports in St. John.  Jill and Bobby took a commercial flight to St. Thomas and a boat to St. John.  Alex said that the private jet we saw was most likely taking Jill and Bobby from St. Thomas to St. Bart.  While Alex got the blame for throwing Jill out, it was clear that none of the ladies were in need of any Jill drama.

Jill’s intention was to talk and try to make up with Bethenny.  How selfish is that?  Look at what Bethenny had been through!   She was in the beginnings of a high risk pregnancy, she had just buried her father, she had just been through Kelly-Hell and now Jill wants to dredge up all this petty nonsense?  Of course Bethenny was disgusted!

The phone call that we read about did happen, Ramona called Jill to try to explain what was going on with Kelly.  At first Bravo’s cameras were rolling but Jill wasn’t taking it seriously.  Jill was saying things like, Kelly is trying to bring drama for ratings, and Kelly is just acting for the cameras, things like that.  Bethenny wanted to try to drive it home for Jill just how bad it was, she asked them to stop filming so that she could talk to Jill and convince her that this was serious.  Jill wasn’t having any of it.  Since this was just hours before Jill planned to surprise the group, she wouldn’t put her plans aside for anything!  Jill didn’t even acknowledge that phone call when she showed up in St. John.

When Jill said that she saw Kelly at the airport, that was true.  Alex explained that the flight that Jill and Bobby had just disembarked from was scheduled to be cleaned and flown right back to New York so Kelly literally got on the same plane that Jill had just gotten off.

While Sonja appeared to be neutral until the final episode when she in essence toldl Jill that she thought it was out of line for Jill to show up unannounced, we will see Sonja commit to a “side” during the reunion.  Sonja joined the Housewives for the second half of the reunion taping, she wasn’t on the couch for the entire taping.  That makes sense since she joined the cast half way through the season.   When I expressed my frustration that Sonja was so neutral, Simon told me it would be more clear what side Sonja is on when I watch the reunion.  Alex and Simon both seem to really like Sonja, they speak of her fondly.  We spoke briefly of Sonja’s recent DUI and while neither Simon nor Alex condoned drinking and driving, they did reiterate that in the Hamptons, you don’t ever roll through a stop sign and get away with it.

The husbands do not appear during the reunion, like they did in Orange County.  Simon was there for the taping, the hotel that he manages is just around the corner from where the taping took place so he stopped by a few times but will not be on the show.  I don’t think the viewers, overall, had a positive reaction to the men appearing on RHOOC reunion.  Personally, I enjoyed it, but in any case, Bravo did not have the husband’s appear on the NY reunion.

It was nice to get confirmation or denial of all of these stories that are going around the internet, there were no earth-shattering bombshells that we learned but really fascinating stories about two wonderful people and their lives on this crazy reality show!

So many things were filmed but never made it to air.  A birthday party for Alex and Simon’s son was filmed and Kelly was there, an opening of one of Alex’s stores was filmed, it seems to me they could make a whole other season with what was left on the cutting room floor.  I’m sure we’ll see some of these things in the lost footage episode.  Possibly these were not drama filled events and since there was so much drama, Bravo chose to air those.

Alex explained that she has an on line calendar where she will input all of her scheduled activities and that Bravo producers have access to her calendar.  They will review and then ask her if they can film during certain times of her life.  She also told us that she can say no to filming any specific event if she feels it appropriate.

We talked about Teresa and the attack on Bethenny along with Teresa’s financial problems.  Simon made a great point that if it was all fabricated, they certainly had a whole lot of information.  In essence, if someone wanted to make up all of that, they wouldn’t include details that could so easily have been verified or found to be untrue.  At this point nothing has been deemed “false” that I am aware of.  When someone makes up lies about something, they will use a lot of generalities in order to be able to spin it differently if called out on a specific fact.  Teresa’s issues were spelled out with specific numbers, locations of homes, complete with dates and times.  Let’s just say that Simon didn’t seem particularly fond of Teresa.

I asked about Ramona, and both Alex and Simon seem to be fond of her, they did say that Ramona is the same on camera and off.  They adore Avery and Mario!  What you see is what you get with Ramona!  Simon and Mario have struck up a friendship and do keep in touch.

Alex also said she was fond of Bobby and that he was genuinely a nice man.  She said that while it was unlike him to approach her the way that he did at Sonja’s house, he does occasionally call Simon to try to get Jill and Alex back together.  It seems that Bobby doesn’t want his wife to be at odds with people and Bobby tries to be the peace maker.  Since Simon wasn’t at Sonja’s house that day, Bobby tried to smooth things over by going directly to Alex.

Alex said that when Bobby was standing with the ladies and Jill and Ramona were by the car on St. John, both Alex and Bethenny apologized to Bobby.  They tried to explain the hell they had just been through and why they reacted the way they did to Jill’s surprise visit, but only a small portion of Bethenny talking to Bobby actually aired.

I’m sure I will think of more details that I will include in future blogs but I will leave it here for now.

Alex and Simon are sincerely nice, real, down to earth people.  I cannot say enough nice things about them.  If you ever have the opportunity to meet them at a book signing, trust me, GO!  Many people I met last night drove up to 3-4 hours to be there and I assure you that they are not sorry they made the trip!

I will go into detail more about all of the great bloggers and members of our community that I met once I get their approval.  LOL  I know that so many are private and don’t want to reveal anything about themselves so I won’t do that now.  Better yet, those who were there, please feel free to tell us about your experience!

Until next time….

HI LYNN! I gave you a star before I even read it because I knew it would be fantastic!

OMG we are twins! I freaking love Giordanos more than any other Chicago pizza. Portillos, I am drooling at the thought, the best beef sandwiches (I like mine wet with sweet peppers, mozzarella and giardinera) and of course chicago dogs. We go to both places every time we are in town, mostly to see the Cubs!

I, too started drooling at the mention of Giordanos! My son attended University of Chicago and graduated December ’09. Sadly, it would be about a 4 hour drive for a pizza….very tempting….imagine sound of Homer Simpson slobbering here!!

I so wanted to come to Chicago for e Silex gathering but alas, could not justify the expense. Glad to hear it was a great experience and am happy to live vicariously through this blog.

I have been lurking on your site for about a months and have decided to join the big leagues, just hope I can keep up.

Thanks Lynn for giving me a source for my fix.

Can’t say I thought of it myself, stole it from Bethenny, as I heard her say it it one of the reunion clips, I will always give credit where credit is due!

Bethenny is the one who deserves credit for this screen name as I heard her say it in one of the reunion clips. I believe in giving credit where credit is due!

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, Lynn – and for setting up the event with Alex and Simon at the restaurant. It’s great to hear some confirmation about all of the stories floating around the internet, and it’s even more great to hear that Alex and Simon are genuinely lovely people on screen and off.

I think this might be my favorite blog entry so far, I just adore the BRAS(S!) team and I hope to see much, much more of them in the future on Bravo.

  5. Had Enough! says:

OK, let me explain something that I avoided yesterday. Another poster alluded to it later, when she posted the actual bankruptcy filing. PACER is the Public Access to Court Electronic Records and it is just that – for the federal courts, which includes the U.S. Bankruptcy courts. When I was posting all those details, that’s where it came from. Lawyers use it all the time, as do reporters and others. These are public records. So are state court records, but many states do not happen to have their records online, so you have to actually go to the relevant courthouse if you want to view court records.

So trust me, no one made it up.

I guess the one question I would have had is whether Bobby ever shows any little hint of concern about Jill’s behavior. Yes, spouses should stand up for one another in public, but he must see the harm she is doing to herself and would want to protect her from the consequences of her behavior. Try to distract her? Something? How on earth could he agree to this surprise visit to St. John?

There are several possible explanations. One is that he has given up on trying to reason with her or ever say no. I can readily imagine the consequences. She would scream and shriek about whose side is he on, and he is no longer her friend. Another is that he secretly enjoys watching her get her comeuppance. Or that he’s hoping that eventually she’ll face facts and get some counseling? I just can’t imagine that he thought it was a good idea to go to St. John, and if he wanted to protect her, he would have tried to stop her.

    • Just a Commoner says:

I don’t know Bobby or Jill personally, but I do know couples like them. I would guess that he gives in to her demands and obnoxious behavior because it’s easier than trying to talk sense into her. I don’t think he knows how to deal with her other than that. It’s probably what he learned from his own father.

He’s always in the background. He doesn’t have much of a bond with Ally (which Jill kvetched about in the first season). His attempts at defending Jill to Alex and others are not effective at all.

He’s really kind of a nebbish.

PS GREAT update, Lynn! Thanks for all the juicy details!

    • vdaze says:

      Had Enough,

I was the one who posted the Giudice bankruptcy documents yesterday. I can’t believe there are still people (fans of Teresa) questioning their validity. It is what it is – the documents are authentic, they can be accessed by anyone who registers with PACER (documents do cost 8c per page, I guess it’s how the courts fund the cost of putting the documents online). It’s an awful lot of trouble for “haters” to go to just to try and embarrass Teresa and Joe if the stuff isn’t true, but that entire theory is moot.

I’m embarrassed for Dina Manzo, she stated to Zap2It that Teresa’s bankruptcy is “bull” because she would have known about it if it were true. How many people do you know that run around screaming from the rooftops that they’re declaring bankruptcy? Usually it’s something that could be kept quiet, but welcome to life in the public eye.

      • TheGuidice'sAreBogues! says:

I have been in the law field for 14 years. I reviewed the bankruptcy documents on PACER listed above, and they are authentic Court documents. There is NO way that this information could be in the PACER court system if it wasn’t a real case. As correctly stated above, PACER is used in all Federal Courts (including Bankruptcy courts) and most State Courts.

        • vdaze says:

Thank you for your comments about the court documents. As I stated earlier, it’s a helluva lot of trouble to go to to forge these documents. The only thing that doesn’t add up in their petition is the INCOME AND EXPENSES!! *lol*

    • error 404 says:

he may also be the type that hates conflict, and as soon as Jill’s stupid enough to focus her rage on him, he’ll just quietly leave her.

  6. Olivia says:

Like hungry little birds we have been waiting patiently for this terrific update from Chicago! Love Alex and Simon and you have just reiterated the reasons why.

The only disturbing thing I took away from this post is that Bravo will make their decision for a future season by basing their appraisal of who returns on the ratings. As I understand it, this past season saw the ratings rise due in large part to Jill’s misbehavior. If they bring her back it may be solely on that factor alone which in my opinion she does not deserve. It will be as if she is being “rewarded” for acting like the witch that she is. The Amazongate factor alone should not be ignored.

Just hoping that Sonja is not aligning herself with Jill. That would be the absolute end for me.

    • Just a Commoner says:

I am not against Jill remaining on the show but I would really love to see a much better balance of good and bad behavior. This season the bad behavior had way too much air time. They should give Sonja more time next season and Jill less time. And Jill should be called out on her bad behavior every time.

      • Zoey says:

I agree. I’m not against Jill coming back, especially since the more she opens her mouth, the more she inserts her foot. Let’s watch! Kelly as well. Although I find it difficult to watch either of them in more than small doses.
I think with Bethenny there providing comic relief it was balanced. Without her, I don’t know….
Love A n S, and Sonja, so hope they’ll be back.

    • Had Enough! says:

Let me make this perfectly clear to Bravo: I watch this show DESPITE Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon. I joke about hating them, but the truth is that they make me angry and tense. I have decided that if only one of them can be tossed, it should be Jill’s Trained Sasquatch, but if they both return, I am no longer going to watch this program. I can watch Bethenny on her new show, which I am looking forward to. I will miss Alex, Simon, Sonja, Ramona, Mario, and Avery if they don’t show up on Bethenny’s show, but so be it. I will not watch this show if both Zarin and Bensimon are retained.

And while I may not be in one of Bravo’s four target demographics, trust me – I am definitely an advertiser’s target demographic.

      • jb8 says:

I have to agree with you on this one. The show is not watchable with both Zarin and KKB on, stirring the pot, showing mental craziness and telling lies. The best moments this season came when the four women were celebrating at the villa post Zarin and KKB. The atmosphere was calm, friendly and fun. I do believe that KKB has some serious emotional baggage that is best not witnessed on national TV. Zarin is shrill and turning into a stereotype which is not good, but overall she changed this season and is just not likeable.

        • Robin says:

I think the reason we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere during the BRAS “bridal shower” was because it was like a breath of fresh air. But,we need to smell the funk from the other’s so we can appreciate the best.

I was also concerned that Bravo bases its decision on “comments on its blog [which I presume includes TWOP”].

This, despite the fact that comments that DO appear on these blogs are severely,/strong> censored — and only in the direction of removing critical comments. Heck, the vile “Strega” even totally shut down a blog because of negative comments!

If Bravo reads the “original,” uncensored blogs — i.e., the comments that don’t make it to “publication,” I could feel a little bit better. But thinking that they rely on what makes it through to the sanitized Bravo blogs is discouraging.

      • Kokuanani says:

Rats!! See, Lynn, why we need a “press this button” system to effect HTML tags, instead of relying on the feeble typing of folks like me?

  7. Jennifer says:

Another great blog! It’s refreshing to hear everything we talked about here is accurate ….. Sad I couldn’t go but going when they in Philly

As for Teresa it’s true because they filed for bankruptcy …. Joe and T at least that’s how Access Hollywood said, if they filed it’s absolutly true us T hasn’t bothered to deny on Twitter and in fact seems to acknowledge it

  8. Squirrels says:

Great Blog Lynn. Now I can head out to the beach and relax.

  9. Thanks for the wonderful “summing it up” for us!! I’m envious that you got to meet them and spend time talking with them! That had to be a BLAST!

  10. Nancyusa says:

    Thanks Lynn

  11. BTW, I love the pics at the top of the page!! The only one missing is the face Kelly was making when Bethenny was telling her to go to sleep. Jill looks like Big Bird!

  12. Char12 says:

It sounds like you all had a wonderful time. How nice that gifts were given to them and being from Wisconsin I’m glad they were given some cheese lol. I wish I could have been there but it just wasn’t possible. I can’t wait to see the pictures so people HURRY UP and send them to Lynn lol.

Everything they said didn’t surprise me at all. Jill really wanted to be the driving force that kept the show going and instead it turned out to be Bethanny, Alex and Ramona. I think that’s hilarious. I’m so glad that Alex and Simon will be on B’s show occasionally. I just knew they would be real down home folks just like all of us.

  13. purplechick10 says:

This was a very nice piece on your day with Alex & Simon. I hope that Bravo does decide to bring them back as well.
We all know that there will have to be at least 1 villain for next season, the question is WHO would bring them less heartburn in the end.

  14. Rusty says:

You’re the best Lynn. THANKS for all the great and fun info.

  15. Small Town Mama says:

Sounds like it was a fun night! I love that Alex delivered Bethenny’s message to you.

  16. Margo Channing says:

Oh Lynn! Sooo much DISH! I love it! We have been anxiously waiting for this and you (of course) did not disappoint! Alex and Simon just sound precious. So down to earth. After reading your blog about how wonderful they are I don’t even know if I can stalk K and J on Twatter today! I’ll even give that NOT ‘Skinny’ Troll Teresa a pass, for a few hours anyway! Thanks so much for sharing all the gab! What fun! And we will all be awaiting the photos! XO JOHAN FACE!

  17. Squirrels says:

If Jill keeps up dissing Andy, ratings won’t matter. He’ll pull her plug.
    One can hope, anyway.

  18. otaypanky says:

So let me get this straight. jizm was on St John 30 minutes.
Both Alex and Bethenny spoke at length with Bobby telling him what went down.
So now, not only was Jill told the night before, all was reiterated to Bobby in person.
I’m sure, Bobby retold the tale to jizm.

    So, what does jizm do?

She completely ignores all the genuine tragedy of “her friend’s” breakdown. Comes back to NY and continues to make it all about her. Forget about the show. What about all her comments to the press?

  19. ridicurhony says:

thanks so much for all the insider info!

  20. adioslunatic says:

Love the details, Lynn. I would have given my eye teeth to be there!

  21. Quincy IL says:

I am happy that Lynn, Silex and the Chicago fans had a great time. Thank you so much for the inside scoop. I loved their book. They were so wonderful about sharing their trials and successes throughout their lives.

I know that Silex will be back next year. I hope Bethenny comes back too. They are all great people and make my Bravo watching more fun.

  22. Olivia says:

The only one desperate enough to want back on the show is Jill. She cannot exist without it. Even the threat that she may be leaving is out there so her “fans” will chime in and “beg”her to reconsider.

I doubt if the show even resonates that much with Kelly. Living in her own world of fantasy she is quite capable to adapting to another environment with ease. When you view the world from your own distorted lens you can plant the flag anywhere and call it home.

No one “needs” this show as much as Jill. It is a source of validation for her. I hate to see Bravo make her wish come true with yet another season. There is simply no way we can buy into her personality “makeover” nor do I wish to see another season of her beating another person into the ground for the sake of ratings.

Jill has nowhere to go but “Go”. Please.

  23. ridicurhony says:

I know that I’m sort of a newby here, but what was with that old Jill video of her saying she was cast first if Alex was the one cast first???? man, I really missed it if someone tried to redirect me on that one. lol, it all makes sense now.

  24. vilzvet says:

How funny that you renamed the blog title to include “I Love”! I didn’t notice it on the previous blog until someone pointed it out!
    How astute is GingerZarin:
Bravo researches what viewers want to see & will change what scenes they will show midseason if needed. Who was barely seen at the end? Yep

  25. boston02127 says:

    Thanks for sharing Lynn.

  26. Zoe Thinks says:

If Dina asked Chris (is that his name) who is studying to be a lawyer he would know that Pacer docs are not made up by haters. Perhaps she didn’t “want” to know. The Manzo family knows by now that the docs are true and you have to wonder whether TG hid this from them or they knew about it all along.

    • Olivia says:

With the economy in freefall, especially the housing market, they had to question amongst themselves how she could keep spending like the Taliban were getting off the boat in NJ! She was running around with wads of cash which should have been a tip off right there. Where was all that cash coming from and why no checks or credit cards?

Of course they knew something was just not right. But I am just curious as to who the “family” member is that is footing $10,000 a month toward this lifestyle. Wish I had a family member who could do that for me. The most I can attest to is that when my husband was on strike my mother bought groceries to the house each week until he went back to work.

They are living an outrageous, and possibly illegal existence, and we are supposed to applaud them? Come on!

      • Rabble Rouser says:

I’m am willing to bet that Joe and Theresa are going to get a visit from the IRS. Joe has his own stucco and brick company- and I am willing to be he is paid in cash a lot which makes it easier to hide as earnings.

The ‘Cash gifts’ (cough-cough) from family of 10k per month allow are large portion of it to be tax free- up to 13k per person. And if it’s set up as a living trust they can save even more on taxes.

Their house of cards is going to come down, I am willing to bet in a few years their home will be as dilapidated as the Gotti mansion.

    • iwannabeanarchy says:

I am a law student too, honestly – he wouldn’t necessarily have knowledge of Pacer/scribd, or bankruptcy filings. Classes on bankruptcy are not required courses. However, I have no doubt the docs. are legit. I have accessed other documents on Scribd before, so I am somewhat familiar with the site. Also, it seems pretty unlikely that someone would go through the effort of filling out the bankruptcy filing as a joke, as it is 62 pages of detailed financial information.

My opinion on the source of $10,000 a month in cash from family members – it seems obvious that this is from money earned under the table or even more likely, illegally. They have shown Teresa’s parents on the show and they seem to be of very humble means. She has even said repeatedly that they came here from Italy “with nothing.” I don’t know anything about Joe’s family, but I suspect that they are similarly situated, as they were close friends with Teresa’s parents when they were growing up.

      • Cleo's Mommy says:

I agree it smells fishy. It’s hard to fathom that he would only be making 40K as head of his construction company. I’ll bet his secretary makes more.

But drawing such a low salary would keep his taxes wayyyyy down. This along with the bankruptcy filing is such a red flag and I wouldn’t be surprised if the IRS took notice.

Why anyone who was most likely committing this type of tax fraud would go on TV flaunting their wealth is beyond me. These people are not very bright.

        • Kat says:

It appeared to me that they undervalued their possessions ie; wedding bands, furniture, appliances etc.

        • RAR says:

They could have kept their assets under an LLC to protect them from creditors. It’s a very smart move on Joe’s part, even if you don’t think highly of the Guidices. Don’t they get paid $100K per season to appear on the show? They also get paid appearance fees. None of that is listed as income. All that cash must go to an LLC. I don’t think their in any kind of financial straits, they will simply write down personal debt, and pop right back up by the start of next season.

  27. jane says:

oh lynn, u are a darling, i was so happy it went fine .love those two silly birds,Bravo you better bring them back or else (i am not watching ,that is the or else )!and will make sure nobody i know will either, you think Jill is good at being the gangster, i will show you one .NOT! just bring them back.

  28. iwannabeanarchy says:

I’m sure Alex and Simon will be back next season. After all, no one even liked Kelly last season, but they still brought her back. I’m sure Alex and Simon have tons of fan support – aside from the readers on this blog.

I predict that IF JiZ is not back next season, Luann will assume the role of the villain.

I doubt Kelly will be invited back next season after what went down at St. John. She had to be escorted off the island by a producer?!?! I know Bethenny said this already in one of her blogs, but to read it again – it’s just crazy. I think that incident combined with the fact that she is constantly bad-mouthing Bravo and trying to claim she was forced to attend the trip, is enough grounds for them to want to pull the plug on her.

Lynn, thanks the details on your party with Alex and Simon. I wished I could have been there!

  29. Capiche says:

Great post, Lynn! I don’t comment mych but I try to read as often as I can. Keep up the good work! Please, please do something on Teresa and her lies. Especially about the fertility clinic. I find that aspect so interesting especially since the first couple shows I watched (I haven’t watched RHONJ in a while) she constantly talked about her and Joe’s sex life. Interesting…

  30. Olivia says:

Interesting that Bobby is calling Simon looking to make amends with Jill and Alex. Why?

This man is acting on behalf of his idiotic wife and she is pushing him to help her smooth things over for another shot at next season. It must be important to both of them if he has involved himself since she has continued to blame Alex for the VI trip and refused to speak to her at Ramona’s renewal. She is just interested in being able to say, “Oh look, I made up with Alex”.

    She makes me sick.

    • otaypanky says:

That is a question I have Lynn.
When did these calls from bobby to simon take place?
      during filming?

    • boston02127 says:

Shame on Bobby. He’s just as bad as his hag wife. Jill has left nothing but a path of destruction and he’s the big whimp trying to clean it all up. Too bad one of his extended family members don’t make him aware that Jill is bringing him right down with her. The more I hear about Bobby the more I don’t like him.

      • Hooked On Housewives says:

Hi Lynn. Excellent blog. Thanks for sharing Alex and Simon with us.

I feel the same way. We all understand the husband wife thing. But come on. At some point Bawby has to have realized that if Jillousy is constantly in a battle with other people, she may be the problem. Bawby must not watch the DVD’s that are sent to the cast members because there would be no way he could say “I only see Jill being nothing but nice” if he had.

  31. EGBMommy says:

Lynn, Great blog and it was great meeting you yesterday at the book signing. I’m the mommy of the little girl who liked Alex’s ring. It’s actually an even sweeter story. My daughter has a rare bone disease and she has tumors that grow on her fingers (as her hands grow so do the tumors). We’ve been lucky to meet a few people we admire and my daughter has gotten pictures taken with their hands….when I asked Alex if my daughter could get her picture w/her hands, Alex asked my daughter if she wanted to wear her ring. Seriously, who would do that???? We’ve gotten palms together, but NEVER anyone who offered thier gorgeous jewlery, if only for a picture.
Alex and Simon are truly the nicest people to meet. Simon was genuinly interested in my daughters disease, asking many questions about it. They really do care about their fans. When you have kids, you have a bond with other parents, when you have a child with a rare disease you can feel alone, Alex and Simon made us feel special! Not only does their book make me feel like a “normal” (whatever that means) parent, in person they make you feel incredibly special! Thank you Alexs and Simon, we will NEVER forget you!

    • anniieee says:

What a wonderful memory you all made last night. And what a sweet, sweet story.

      • shantygal says:

What a sweet story EGB. I hope it made your daughter’s day & sounds like she has a great mom.

    • vilzvet says:

So sorry to hear that, is it painful for her to hold hands, draw, etc?

      • EGBMommy says:

No, not painful. She actually just figured out that her hands aren’t like anyone elses this year by going to kindergarten. She’s such a trooper. It’s such a rare disease, we dont’ know the outcome –need to do more research.

        • Morgaine Swann says:

Bless her heart! I’m so glad Alex and Simon took time with her. You’re both in my prayers.

    • moneycanbuyyouass says:

Your story gave me chills. God bless you, your daughter, and your family. Hopefully a cure will be found for her condition soon.

      • MELANIE says:

Everyones’ comments echo my own feelings. What a true moment showing Alex as a true lady and a caring mother.

    • MickeyMouth says:

So Sweet! I wish health and happiness for you and your daughter.

  32. anniieee says:

Anpther great blog Lynn, thanks again for feeding my obsession. Wish I could have been there…just a little to far from sunny Florida. Bravo had better keep Silex on, or I won’t watch. Bravo could do another reality show about Kelly and her rehab/hospital stay… otherwise they should not put her on the show. It is too detrimental for her children. If she doesn’t realize this, someone at Bravo should!

And last-Good morning everyone and here’s to another wonderful day!

  33. RileyKitty says:

I concur with everything Lynn says above. My sister took a picture of me with Simon & Alex in the bookstore while getting my book signed, I then returned the favor & snapped on of her with them. In all my excitement I forgot to hit the save button on my phone. (This happened before when we met Phil Keoghan from the Amazing Race so I have pics with me & Phil, sadly my sister has none). She was so irritated with me & fearing she would give me the silent treatment all the way home, I vowed to rectify my mistake. Simon & Alex very graciously posed for a second picture outside the bookstore, saving me from a 3 hour ride home in silence.

Lynn, we did hit some nasty downpours on the way home & when we stopped for gas the guy said there was a tornado warning out. Just picture us out on I-80 West going 40 miles an hour with our hazards on LOL. We both agreed it was well worth it because the night was fabulous.

    • anniieee says:

wow… glad you made it home safely! Gosh I wish I could have gone and met some of the bloggers on here. You all are so…NORMAL!! (that is in comparision to a lot of the Real Housewives..blows my mind-how they act) I think it is the sense of entitlement that so many have that really pisses me off the most. No humility..no empathy..just me me me me me…. I hate Jill Zarin and Kelly and Vicki and Tamra and NeNe ….

  34. Char12 says:

I really don’t see Bravo bringing Kelly back, she’d be too much of a liability to them imo. And I don’t think she has a big enough fan base for them to even want to keep her.

  35. error 404 says:

Interesting that there is no mention of Jen Gilbert in this blog.

Seeing as she claims that Bravo filmed her for 3 months and never used any of it, it’s a serious WTF moment. Actually, I would have loved to get Silex’s opinion on why there are at least 3 extra housewives anyway.

Kiki brought nothing to season 2, it mazes me they kept her for season 3, where all she brought was the crazy. Bravo’s in a tough spot I think, cause she’s clearly had a breakdown and keeping her for season 4 so all of us can laugh at a mentally ill woman is basically sick, no matter how high the ratings.

The only way I see Jill off the show: she quits in an attempt to have them beg her to come back. They refuse to beg. It’s a lose/lose situation due to stupid game playing. She’s obviously addicted to “starring” in the show, and she’s always been good for ratings… good Jill or evil Jill, they both attracted viewers.

    • vilzvet says:

She was useless! You noticed that did have a short post-filming interview with her this week, when she commented on her dig to the wedding planner. She seemed all puffed up and proud of her Jill-like moment.

      • anniieee says:

boy I missed that as well…where was that one?

      • Just a Commoner says:

I caught that and I watched her party segment again yesterday. How incredibly rude was she to Ramona’s party planner?!? Someone here said that Jen made the crack (“Would you let a person like that plan your party?!”) before realizing the woman was within earshot. But NO, Jen was looking at her when someone said identified her. She KNEW the woman could hear her.

Jen brings nothing to the show.

      • Hooked On Housewives says:

The only way Jennifer comes back should be with a big red “L” tattooed on her forehead.

    • Pattymouth says:

If they bring Jill back, I think they will see their ratings dive. So many are so disgusted by that POS. I just became a twitter fan of Ginger Zarin. You’ve got to go read Ginger’s tweets….LMAO!!!!

I don’t think they aired much of Jen because she was a #1 royal asshole. She seems like the type that even PO’d the camera crew. They probably intentionally didn’t air much just to set her straight on really who was calling the shots. Her comment at Ramona’s event was disgusting. She needs to disappear into the ether.

  36. desertgal66 says:

I’m thrilled that Lynn, Alex and Simon, and the other Chicago/WI fans had such a great visit. Alex and Simon sound like such great people…and I have to say, one of the reasons I kept tuning in this year was to see more of those two. They’re great, they’re real, and I like ’em.

I have to say something about Bobby Zarin. I have a friend who is similar to JZ, although not as mean. She’s very high strung, very melodramatic, and she puts herself in positions that she cannot be talked down from. Her husband is a sweet natured guy with a huge heart, and he’s exactly the opposite of her – very mellow and laid back. He does try to talk her off the ledge at times, but when he knows that he could talk himself blue in the face and it won’t budge her…he stands back and lets her take the dive, so she can learn for herself, because that’s the only way the lesson will sink in.

It’s very possible that Bobby is the same. He probably sensed that going to St. John’s was a baaaaad idea, but he also knew that he couldn’t dissuade Jill from it. So…he let her jump. And, really, that’s not a bad way to be. It IS a bad thing to repeatedly protect your spouse from the consequences of her actions, because that helps no one. It’s not necessarily bad to let her learn the hard way that actions have consequences. (Course, Jill doesn’t learn, but that isn’t Bobby’s fault.)

Like Had Enough! I find Jill’s presence on the show to be a hateful and melodramatic distraction from the parts of the show that are truly interesting. I don’t want to watch a grown woman play those kinds of bitter, twisted games-I’ve got family members I can watch do that in real life. And I certainly don’t want to watch any more of Kelly’s behavior. She’s mean, she’s arrogant, but, more than that, she’s mentally unbalanced. It isn’t fun to watch. It’s disturbing. So, like many others, I won’t be tuning in next year if Jill and Kelly remain on the show. I like Alex and Simon, Ramona and Mario, and Sonja-but to see them, we have to sit through all the other crap. Personally, I’d rather watch all of them on Bethenny’s new show. More FUN.

As for Jill’s recent Tweets about harassment, who is she kidding? The postal service doesn’t get involved in Internet harassment, and the postal service isn’t going to waste a whole lot of time following up on some innocuous greeting cards. If someone did send her a threatening message, then I do agree that IS wrong, but that can hardly be laid at Lynn’s door, which seems to be what Jill is impying. Jill is very childish and very silly, and her Tweets and Facebook messages really aren’t worth paying any further attention to. She’s an ignorant, malicious mess.

Anyway, again, glad everyone in Chicago had such a great time, and thanks for sharing all on your blog, Lynn! It’s great!

    • anniieee says:

oh gosh I missed those tweets… when did that happen?

      • desertgal66 says:

Last night. Jill posted this message on Facebook, and I’m guessing she probably Tweeted the same message:

Jill Zarin So..we are being harassed and threatened by a family from chicago and Alabama. We have contacted authorities. I will block anyone who is linked to them per postal service law enforcement until they finish investigation. This is a serious crime and all evidence has been handed over. If you are involved in anyway..I suggest you stop. Enough is enough. It is NOT funny or a joke.

It’s just stupid. Course, she’s blocked all the ‘haters’, so she did get a bunch of sycophantic “poor Jillsie” replies-which is likely what she was aiming for in the first place. She probably went over to Teresa’s Facebook and saw all the kiss ass messages of support over Teresa’s bankruptcy news and decided she wanted some of that sympathy for herself.

        • desertgal66 says:

Oh, and why are Jill lovers always so illiterate? They are always throwing in dozens of exclamation points, or SCREAMING, and they continually do such things like confusing “their” for “they’re”.

It’s rlly, rlly ANNOYING!!!! Did they all skip English in high school?

          • ridicurhony says:

lol, guilty of posting ‘their’ instead of they’re last night, but I agree, it annoys the hell outta me too.

        • anniieee says:

God she is such a puffed up piece of trash…before she starts ranting..she should look at what the laws really are. Nothing like a raving, shriveled up,nasty mouth, ol dyed redheaded shrew, who makes herself look stupid everytime she opens her piehole. Did I mention I hate Jill (aka Susan Saunders) Zarin!

        • Squirrels says:

Hate to mention this, but if the Feds were investigating anything, they were dumb nobs for not telling Jill to keep her yap shut. Nothing says love like a compromised investigation.

  37. Kat says:

Thank you Lynn! Thank you, Thank you. 🙂

  38. error 404 says:

@olivia: in the reunion show clips, Sonja is sitting on the BRAS couch.

Lulu is a bit of a snake, and I really don’t buy that she is firmly on Team Jill. Unlike Kiki, she is neither under Jill’s mothering spell, nor has an all consuming hatred of Bethenny. Even her interjection that Alex may have misinterpreted the article wrong, was more of a middle of the road compromise save-the-peace effort than a defense of Kiki.

Perhaps snake is a tad harsh: Lulu’s an independent. Unlike Kiki, she’s no one’s lap dog. Once she got over her anger at B for the snake attack, she pulled back on the B vitriol and then suddenly Kiki was enlisted.

    • HD says:

Luann will go along with whoever is going to get her into the hottest party, knows the hottest men, etc. etc. She is on Team Luann and that is all she cares about. You saw how quickly she started making fun of Kelly once she came back from the trip and politely said, “I know a friend that had Bethanny cater a party for her…” So she goes with whatever is going to make her look good. At the start of the season she thought it would be Jill now that has fucked up…

      • Elizabeth says:

I think that Luann was firmly Team Jill until she realized that she is on a sinking ship and ran like the rodents do. It appears that she was much nicer to Team Bethenny the last show or two.

  39. boston02127 says:

    bankruptcy & foreclosure scam:

Many people who file for bankruptcy are aware this will take place and max out their credit cards knowing what they purchase will be theirs scott free in the end.

When a home goes into foreclose it usually goes to auction. A family member will bid on the home and buy it at auction price. Auction price is usually a lot lower cost.

The family member then sells the home back to the original person for the lesser cost.

So if Teresa and Joe’s home goes to auction Caroline and her husband or Teresa’s parents can buy the house and sell it back to Teresa and Joe.

Teresa and Joe never even have to move out. They end up in their home with half the mortgage payment and all their new purchases.

Maybe we should be keeping an eye out for anything the other family members have purchased.

    • Had Enough! says:

Usually, in foreclosure, unless someone bids what is owed on the mortgage (plus unpaid interest and late fees), the bank ends up owning it. In short sales, banks have been accepting less than is owed in order to avoid foreclosure. However, once it goes to foreclosure, they generally don’t accept bid for less than is owed.

In this case, if their debts are discharged as planned for in this filing, none of that happens, because they say they want to reaffirm the debt. That’s ultimately up to the bank that holds the mortgage to accept or not, and that in turn is based on whether or not they think the mortgage can and will be paid. Which in turn depends in part on the payment record of the debtor.

If the bank accepts, then they just keep paying the mortgage and keep living there. If they again default, they are precluded from filing for bankruptcy again for another 7 years, and so yes, then the bank forecloses, it goes to auction, etc. Unless the bank agrees to renegotiate the principal and or payment terms.

I don’t see a tax lien so either they have been paying the mortgage (including the escrow for taxes, of course) or they have been paying the taxes directly to the county. If there was a tax lien, the county could also foreclose.

      • Squirrels says:

Tax liens are the epitome of I get paid back first – spot # 1 . The only thing that can compete is an IRS lien. I would never bid/buy a tax lien if there was an IRS lien on a property. HELL NO !!!!

    • Robin says:

Just because they filed bankruptcy doesn’t mean they are being forclosed on.

      Apples and oranges.

That said, they are a couple of low life loser’s that are getting out of paying debts so that maybe they can still keep their tacky house. Spending money that you know you aren’t going to pay back is stealing.

I have more regard for a “prostitution whore”.

  40. Olivia says:

The thing with Jill is that she “revels” in going toe to toe with someone. In several segments she does this with people like Bethenny, Mario and Ramona who are all quite capable of handling themselves when push comes to shove. She is assured by Lu Ann and Kelly because their noses are so far up her butt they couldn’t see daylight if they tried.

But Alex ticked her off because she had come to dismiss her as someone of no account. When Alex attempted to call Jill out you could see by Jill’s reaction that she did not take Alex seriously and turned her over to Lu Ann to carry the toady bucket. At Ramona’s facial event she talked over Alex, basically ignoring her until Alex ended up screaming the “message” into her face. Alex had to do the same at Jennifer Gilbert’s party since she knew from past experiences was the only way to get Jill’s attention was to “come at her”. Something that is not in Alex’s normal demeanor.

This had to send Jill spinning because she had so easily discounted Alex from the beginning. This put Alex at the top of her hate list, even going above Bethenny for once. Jill had never considered Alex as a threat.

Jill needs to see herself with a nemesis onboard to justify her victimization. Of all members of the cast, Alex is the one who is most consistent in how she handles herself. The shock was in Jill discovering how wrong she had been about her.

    • Just a Commoner says:

Excellent points. That would also explain why Jill was so incredibly smug and nasty in the clip from the reunion show where she gets all in Alex’s face and demands, “Tell me when I was mean to you. TELL me. TELL ME,” very defiantly, chin jutting out, eyes narrowed, lips curling in a smirk.

I want to know what “the book” says about this kind of behavior.

  41. shantygal says:

Lynn & attendees of the book signing, you have brought a needed sense of peace to me and I’m sure some of the other readers. I expected that A & S were gracious but am so glad to hear that my expectations were exceeded. I feel like, what is it? Renewed, that’s it. I’m RENEWED.

I’ll have to take advantage of this calm in my life, because I’m sure a new level of hate & disgust will return once the reunion is aired on Thurs. I don’t want any stress in my stomach!

  42. A former Jill fan says:

Lynn, thanks for that long but very fascinating blog! 🙂 Alex and Simon have such good reputations and that is actually reinforced by all 3 seasons of RHONY, in my opinion.

You’ve done a great job of relaying all the info Alex and Simon recounted and it will definitely piss Jill off when she reads your blog. 😛

  43. Zipit Zarin! says:

Bawbee said “I wouldn’t be in the middle.” Hello! He put himself in the middle by barging in and addressing the women on behalf of Jizz. He’s exactly like Jizz…talking over Bethany’s explaination of why she didn’t contact him during his illness (whatever it was) and telling him she adored him. He has always made me sick because he enables Jizz and tries to portray himself as this nice guy. PEEEEUKE!

  44. error 404 says:

@desertgal66: I much prefer watching the crazy on screen. My sisters have this Kiki vs. Bethenny feud thing going on at the moment, and as horrifying as the “I’m up here, you’re down here” battle was to watch, it was at least contained to a small box I could switch off. Watching basically the same thing live in my Mother’s living room over Christmas, not much fun at all, I can tell ya.

    • shantygal says:

Sounds like a normal holiday to me. You are not alone.

    • desertgal66 says:

      Good point. 🙂

Okay, if I had to choose, I’d prefer to confine the crazy to a small screen that I can turn off. But, really, I enjoy scenes like the dinner with Alex, Bethenny, Sonja, and Ramona on St. John’s more than any of the drama, crazy filled ones. A spat here and there is one thing, but it really went too far this year.

And I think what really capped it for me was the distress and anger in Alex’s face when Jill walked in on St. John’s. I like watching Alex, but I don’t want to watch her be subjected to being made to feel that awful. And I don’t want to watch Bethenny pushed to tears by a mean, vicious woman who isn’t worth her spit. I don’t want to see the horror in their faces when they realized that Kelly was actually crazy. These are strong, beautiful women. Watching Jill and Kelly stomp all over their feelings isn’t fun.

      • Cleo's Mommy says:

While you may enjoyed that BRAS dinner scene. If that’s all the show was made of, we’d all get bored quite quickly.

Story requires conflict. Someone on one of the Lynn’s blogs mentioned the Carrie/Miranda/Samantha/Charlotte scenes in Sex & the City. Those scenes were great, but even when there was no conflict between the women in those scenes, the conversation focused on the conflicts in the character’s lives.

I don’t think the conflict necessarily needs to be between the housewives, but it’s usually edited that way. In part because these women are unwilling to expose the real conflicts in their real lives.

Luanne wasn’t going to show the real hardships she was experiencing post divorce. She mentioned them in conversation, but she always wants to come across onscreen as together. So she’s not going to have herself filmed falling apart.

Ramona presents herself to be a good business woman, so do you think she’d want to show the struggles she went through launching her line a la Jonathan (barf me) Antin?

Are any of these women going to expose any marital problems on camera?

Jill doesn’t seem to have anything going on in her life that would generate real drama or conflict other than creating enemies in her head. She shops, gives Bobby blowjobs in exchange for jewelry and attends charity events.

It might be interesting to see Alex building her new business – but I’m not sure that could compete entertainment-wise with Jill going ballistic on Ramona because she didn’t know that someone she had thrown out of her life’s father was dying (even though she was told he was dying) and hiding in a pantry.

I think Bethenny would be fine showing whatever conflict is happening in her life – and that’s probably one of the reasons that she was offered her own show. She wouldn’t make pretend her husband was her soulmate on camera as her marriage was falling apart. She was quite open about her conflicts with Jason 1.0. She wouldn’t pretend to be rich while she was going bankrupt. She’d show her struggles no matter what they were or how they made her look.

But anyway, my point is there needs to be conflict in order for this series to continue. And since most of the cast either doesn’t have tv-worthy conflict or is unwilling to show the tv-worthy conflict, then there needs to be at least some conflict between the women, and my guess is that probably means more Jill Zarin – unless she has pissed off the Bravo execs to the point where they want her gone.

Bravo seems to (smartly) keep those that we love hate along with those we love. Never underestimate the need for a good antagonist.

Hopefully Bravo will realize that Kelly could very well be a legal liability for them and they’ll use common sense there and let her go.

        • desertgal66 says:

I’m well aware the stories require conflict to keep all the viewers interested. I was simply pointing out what I didn’t care for on this season. As I said, I thought the melodrama went too far. And exploiting a mentally ill woman for ratings just isn’t kosher, so I definitely think, even if Bravo keeps Jill, that Kelly should be released. For her own wellbeing, most of all.

          • desertgal66 says:

Sorry, didn’t mean to bold that sentence above.

          • Cleo's Mommy says:

I wrote something similar on another one of Lynn’s blogs, but feel it bears repeating.

I think if they continue to have Kelly on the show, it’s exploitation because they now know she is either severely mentally ill or has a serious drug problem (or possibly both.)

However I don’t think Bravo knew how disturbed she was until she had her breakdown on the island. And I think that airing the footage was the right thing to do.

If they didn’t show it, they would have been enabling her.

She is the mother of two young children, there are many people in her personal and professional life who may have been unaware of how disturbed she is, and need to know the truth. I think anybody and everybody who has any contact with her children needs to know, I think any parent who may leave their children in her care need to know. I think her family and friends and people who are in a position to protect her children need to know. Her employers and potential employers need to know. Would you want her representing your product or business?

Kelly may be in denial, but those closest to her cannot afford to be, nor can they continue to cover for her in an effort to protect her because it puts others at risk.

      • ridicurhony says:

i agree with you desertgal, I am just not that into all the negativity a la personality disorders, it was a bad choice by Bravo to air that on all these shows and they’re losing viewership on the NJ show because of it. If they keep it up on NY, I’ll quit watching, whether JZ is gone or not.

        • Cleo's Mommy says:

Well again, NJ is an example of five women who have not one bit of tv worthy conflict or anything interesting going on in any of their lives.

I will amend that to say that the bankruptcy would have been good drama, but again – The Giudice didn’t even tell their daughter’s godmother, so they certainly don’t want it on TV. I get the feeling that Dina’s marriage might have some interesting aspects based on her appearance on that wedding show, but her hubby won’t even appear on camera. Not that I blame him, he’s obviously smart enough to know what a douche he is and didn’t want anymore tv exposure.

Danielle, like Kelly is sick and she is not just damaging herself, which I really don’t have a problem with since whatever personality disorder she suffers from is a malignant variety. But her appearance on this show is damaging her kids and so if this show is to continue, I hope it’s without her.

The problem is without the Danielle drama – as manufactured as it is, what’s left? These women are so lacking in entertainment value, that not once but twice we watched young adults throwing ham at each other.

        • sue says:

I think everyone would agree (pretty bold of me, I know!) that it would be fun and entertaining to watch people like Alex, Bethenny and Sonja attending events etc.

I enjoy the scenes of the city, Bethenny’s humor (priceless), Sonja’s self restraint (neutrality-so far?). Oops, please know I also value Ramona and Alex very much.

Watching Jill be a BITCH was not entertaining.
Part two of the island getaway, watching Kelly unravel was uncomfortable EVEN after sort of knowing something was coming. That’s why it got such a reaction on Gawker etc the next day.

If she’s not crazy, I just don’t like her. If she’s crazy, its wrong.

      • boston02127 says:

        @desertgal66~~I agree.

      • Morgaine Swann says:

Very well said. I agree – I don’t want to watch people I like suffer.

  45. cusi77 says:

    Thank you Lynn!

I was reading your blog with a big smile… Thank you very much for sharing.

Like Sarah J. Parker said in WWH “Nobody could have written” what we saw in RHONY season 3… Jill made her bed… She lost too much! Sorry, bad behavior brings bad consequences…

  46. emt2 says:

I went to the book signing/Cagney’s and had a great time! My fiance even came with me and ha a nice time (let’s just say that he does not have the same appreciation of the T.V. show as we all do but he did enjoy Alex and Simon.)

Alex was gorgeous and Simon was very charming. Alex was looking fierce in a hot pink jacket, short shorts suit with some major heels! She was working it!!! And her skin glowed. She’s really beautiful.

I even met the lovely Lynn and Rileykitty and her sister! Lynn was so sweet and really lovely. She was also rocking a gorgeous necklace that her son (?) made!

It was a nice turnout and Alex and Simon graciously answered all of our questions. She was very articulate and made very astute observations, ie. she will never knock another housewife’s project because if a housewife’s project succeeds, it opens the doors for other housewife’s to do the same. That’s why Teresa is shooting herself in the foot when she so bitterly complains about Bethenny disparaging her co-stars while promoting her new show (my words, not Alex’s).

Oh, Alex also said that she really loves Dina and Caroline and is very friendly with them.

Pretty much everything that we have said in this forum has been spot-on in regards to Kelly, Jill, Ramona and Bethenny. We are the smartest public ever!

I was late to the book signing so I missed when they read and the first part of the Q & A but I did go to Cagney’s and they both answered every question we had. I felt bad because I was asking a lot of questions and I hope I wasn’t being too annoying! 🙂

In retrospect, I wish that I had heard more about what Alex and Simon were like in their 20s/30s and how they have navigated their lives with their ambition, changing career plans, etc.

I am about to go to the park and read their book. No rain today!

Thanks again Lynn for the blog and organizing things. It was so nice to meet you and some of the other ladies!

  47. RileyKitty says:

I did ask Alex if Kelly took Bethenny’s gift bag with her when she left the island.

Alex said she didn’t know if she did or not but Alex & Simon both agreed that her reaction to the gift bag itself was very strange LOL.

    • error 404 says:

did they know about her reaction on the island, or did they first see it when Bravo sent them the footage?

    • RileyKitty says:

I’m pretty sure they saw the footage. Also they both made it pretty clear they have no control over what is editted into the show or left out.

    • Squirrels says:

Hey Thanks RileyKitty ! That was one question I had myself. The Killer Kelly canvas knife bag remains a mystery…..

  48. Gina says:

1st question. “If you were in your 1st trimester in a high risk pregnancy situation would you DARE eat Potato Latkes prepared by Jill Zarin?” I’m sure Bethany
hurled them into the nearest trash can as soon as she left the restaurant.
2nd question “Why would Jill Zarin, a woman so obsessed with her looks, style, and position, allow her darling Ginger, to forge for her next meal by frantically cleaning out her nose!” Is Purina Dog Chow not “special” enough for that 4-legged demon?
No wonder Ginger can’t control her bowels!

  49. Sofi says:

How very bizarre that Teresa managed to keep this bankruptcy so quiet for so long. I just want to say that the claim of family assistance to the tune of $10,000/month is very suspicious. As if there is someone in their lives that has that kind of dough to throw down the rathole? Smells of fraud to me, as in they have been told they can keep the house if they can show the ability to pay the mortgage? I hope the government looks into it because it would be a crime to let them get away with screwing all those creditors while they keep living large with all the cash they hid from the taxman. And in this case, there is certainly plenty of evidence (on Bravo) that they are living way above the means they admit to in this filing.
But it is hilarious that their need to resort to IVF has been disclosed while they were pretending that T is fertile Myrtle and Joe needs a snipping. And they scammed the doctor too! Priceless!

    • error 404 says:

I heard a rumor like 4 or 6 months ago that the NJ housewives were all being indicted for construction freud. Nothing came of it, but then this popped up… with Joe claiming a very small income etc… I suspect this might be just the tip of the ice berg concerning Joe’s business. We all know people like them don’t keep a distinct separation between business and personal.

    • RileyKitty says:

Coffee came shooting out my nose & mouth when I read they owed a fertility doctor. I don’t understand spending a bunch of money, you CLEARLY don’t have for IVF to have a 4th child???

      • vilzvet says:

I opinionated previously that aren’t those clinics also for trying for a certain sex? Meaning you can go there to try to “spin the sperm” in order to get a boy? That’s what I think they did. Refund please!!!

      • desertgal66 says:

They DIDN’T spend a bunch of money for the IVF. They didn’t pay for it before, and now they don’t have to.

        • RileyKitty says:

Too true desertgal66. I was just hoping that at the time they went for the services they intended to pay for them. I guess I temporarily forgot we were talking about Teresa & Juicy. Being 11 Mil in debt they probably never intended to pay for anything.

          • vilzvet says:

Hey I wonder if she paid for her new ta-ta’s? That is probably also one of the debts!

      • Hooked On Housewives says:

Think octomom. LOL Hairy harpy was probably hoping for triplet boys or at the very least twin boys.

    • Robin says:

Joe wanted a boy.so Teresa went online and found out that for $12,000 they can buy a kit that turns all the boy sperm blue. She bought it.

  50. HousewifeInCurlers says:

Great blog, I am liking Silex more just reading this.

I agree that I don’t think Luann is firmly on Team Jill. She was very upset when B called her a snake and was firmly Team Jill, but once that blew over and B apologized and she found out she was pregnant and all, seemed like Luann softened to B a bit. The only other person on Team Jill is Kelly b/c really, what other team would she be on? I have a strong feeling Kelly will not be asked back next season.

    • sue says:

Who wouldn’t want to hang out more with Sonja than Jill? For so so many reasons.
What I find a little funny about Sonja is a major reason she is so well liked; how down to earth she is.

She has way, way farther to go to get down to earth. What I mean is: its pretty amazing if you stop to think about who she was married to. I have no idea what fortune is still left for any Morgans or Vanderbilts etc by 2010 BUT I’m pretty sure there is a whole culture . NOT Jill’s “fabulous circle of friends”.

Sonja seems like a true class act.

      • Just a Commoner says:

I also like that Sonja isn’t afraid of Luann’s big booming voice trying to drown her out.

        • Morgaine Swann says:

Wasn’t that awesome when Sonja told LuAnn she was tired of her talking over her? I applauded. Brava, Sonja!

  51. myname2use4now says:

When I saw Joe counting out all that money in cash, all I could think was, “If I was a junior IRS agent looking to make a name for herself, I’d immediately start investigating them.” No one who has that amount of cash sitting around pays their fair share of taxes on it. At least not in my opinion.

But seriously…$11 million??? Why didn’t anyone stop them at 2 or 4 or 5 or 8 million? Holy cow.

    • vilzvet says:

The problem is the multiple mortgages…now they owe more on the other houses than what they are actually worth! They obviously used that money to finance the new one. It will be impossible to get out of that situation without the bankruptcy filing.

      • moneycanbuyyouass says:

And in true contractor style, I like how Theresa is listed as the individual purchaser on the one mortgage document I looked at.

    • Hooked On Housewives says:

I apologize for not remembering who but someone posted a link to information about the bankruptcy. I am sure I read that one property had 4 (count ’em 4) mortgages on it. How the f*ck did that happen. IMO, half the mortgages these people have were gotten by either subterfuge or through connections who looked the other way when the paperwork was being filled out. I have to say that some bank manager somewhere (probably NJ, LOL) is shaking in his or her shoes. How do you give someone a third and fourth mortgage and they can’t show the income?

  52. emt2 says:

Jill is saying that she is being harassed by a family in Chicago and Alabama and has contacted the authorities.

Why is it that I do not believe her? I think she is being dramatic and trying to gain sympathy because she is unpopular right now.

I honestly do not think that anyone is threatening to kill her or harm her. I think people are probably just saying nasty things to her. People shouldn’t take the show that seriously to continuously stalk Jill every second of every day but Jill needs to be more diplomatic in what SHE is saying. Stop being a bitch and saying nasty things about her cast mates and people will leave her alone. I’m sure that people are attacking her more because now Jill has picked Alex to be her new target. Jill needs to just stop talking about people and she will be left alone. Believe me.

I do feel bad if she really feels frightened but I just don’t trust anything that Jill does or says anymore and have a hard time feeling empathy for her because she is so calculating and vindictive.

  53. Anitabee says:

We should put our thinking caps together.

It looks like we have a month to get Jill Zarin off RHONY. What can we do that would have huge impact over at Bravo???

I know all the Housewives get bad press but Jill Zarin behavior since the end of filming has been off the charts.

As long as we are at it how about making sure that Alex is seen getting our support.

    Any ideas???
Does anyone know the name of the departement head that makes these decisions? I think we may need to go above Andy’s head at this point.

My $.02 cents here is that Bravo would be downright vicious if they bring back Kelly Bensimon. Leave that woman alone before she does something we all will regret.

    • RileyKitty says:

Sadly here is the catch, we hate Jill Zarin with the passion of a thousand burning suns. In all our hatred we are creating buzz about her. Lynn gets 10,000 hits on this blog alone. Bravo doesn’t care if the press or buzz is negative. In actuality we are giving Bravo everything it needs to keep Jill Zarin on the show. Will I stop writing about her? Nope. Jill is a vile person but the person who really needs to be off the show is Kelly for her health & mine. If I hear her say HHHHIIIIIIEEEE or spout off anymore of her insanity I will gouge my eardrum with an ice pick 🙂

    • HousewifeInCurlers says:

Honestly I don’t think Jill will return, even if she is asked. Probably that’s what happened when she walked off the set? Andy made it seem like it’s going to be something never, ever seen before, and so far in the clips online it’s all pretty tame- so I wonder if she quits the show and they aren’t allowed to say?
Now that she has that gig at LXNY, she probably doesn’t care as much. Why else would she call Andy Anti-semitic (which is what people who went to her last book signing are posting all over the place)

      • emt2 says:

People said that Jill called Andy anti-semitic? I haven’t heard that. Andy is Jewish himself and WWHL is very Jewish friendly–Mazel Tov, etc.

This is why Jill is annoying, if it is true that she called him anti-semitic, because she likes to blame others and calls them horrible things for disagreeing with her.

I agree with Rileykitty that we give Jill lots of buzz but the real person who should leave is Kelly. That bitch is dangerous and a liability.

      • Kokuanani says:

It amazes me that Jill can’t see how much her being on the show DESTROYS any image of her as a sane person.

It’s a testament to her delusions: she must think her behavior is “a-okay,” and that, upon seeing it, folks will approve of it. In actuality, the more folks see of her, the more they hate her.

If Jill had the brains of Ginger, she’d get OFF the show and attempt to rebuild her reputation with that “fabulous circle of friends.” Right now, each week of the show [and every damn re-run] brings her just an “increasing circle of ENEMIES.”

  54. sue says:

Ok, so here is something I still don’t get…..beyond what we saw (which was plenty) we know for a fact Kelly had to leave the island. We have seen discussions on the show, we have her tweets and you tube etc.

I do not understand how it is that she is just going about her business now. Maybe she was seen by a doctor and we don’t know it? Meds were adjusted….. will we know anymore from the reunion?
They put it out there on tv so I am curious what happened back in NYC?

    • boston02127 says:

It would be interesting to go back to the date that Kelly was taken off the island and compare that date to her tweet dates. Did she tweet the next day?
Was she away for any certain amount of time? (30 days)?

  55. ridicurhony says:

“Simon said that when they first were looking for cast (and Alex was the first one originally cast) they were having a hard time finding people who were willing to participate.”

i’m asking again, did you all discuss this before and if so, can u point me to that blog? when I first started reading this blog, I saw a video of Jill in the Hamptons going on about she was the first one who had been cast when the show was called Manhattan Moms. Was that video posted here? I can’t find it. I thought it made sense then since she was always acting like it was all about her all the time and that this might have been why she was on such an ego trip.

If Alex was really the one who was cast first, then it explains some things for me.

    • upperwestsidedude says:

It is on YouTube. I watched it several weeks ago and it was with the Q&A Cafe in Washington DC. He explains the genesis of the New York Housewives. It comes in 6 parts and defintiely a good watch.

      • RileyKitty says:

Alex & Simon confirmed they were cast first at yesterday’s book signing. I heard it with my own 2 ears. I believe them over anything Jill says.

      • ridicurhony says:

thanks for this video, I watched them all, but not exactly what I was looking for. I don’t doubt that Alex was the first cast.

  56. silexfan says:

    HI Lynn,

Great blog!!! I was disappointed that I couldn’t be there. Cagney’s is in my old stomping grounds as I used to live in that area. I wish Icould do the same for Simon and Alex here in Scottsdale, Arizona. Hey Silex – if you get down to Arizona – I will host a party for you as well!!!! Love, love your blogs – so right on topic!!!! You are the best and thank you for keeping the facts straight and calling it like it is!!

  58. JillousyHater says:

Regarding Jill’s FB post, it sounds like this could be serious. Sounds like it could be pertaining to Lynn’s idea of mailing Jill a card a day to Jill. Sounds like she may have actually done it since the postal service is involved? I thought that sounded like a bad idea at the time, but I thought she was just joking about it, but wasn’t sure. I hope nobody else here did that.

    • desertgal66 says:

Whoa. Lynn never said that she intended to mail “a card a day”, did she? I thought she just suggested that those who wanted to participate could mail one card each, and that was all.

    • Shadowsnomore says:

The thing is there is nothing illegal in mailing out sympathy cards. I thought it was funny and a good illustration of how Jill has killed her fan-base. The only way it would become illegal is if someone was stupid enough to make threats of physical violence towards Jill or her family. Threatening to not watch the show or telling Jill how horrible and vile she is is not illegal.

      • A former Jill fan says:

Agreed. Lynn and anyone else who were talking about sending a sympathy card to jill to illustrate the point that it was jill herself that caused the loss of fans and loss of her own integrity, reputation, etc., did nothing wrong. Fans have always sent all kinds of correspondence to their idols stating all kinds of opinions. nobody encouraged threats or harassment because we wouldn’t want to stoop to jill’s level.

It was each person’s choice whether or not to participate. There may have been a few to get a little zealous, but general consensus was to send a card, or even a card a day for a little while. Again, as long as the card didn’t have a threat, a card a day would not have crossed any line.

The only reason I didn’t send a card to jill was because I felt that it would do no good whatsoever as I’d already let jill know via her facebook page and bravo blog how I felt about her and her bad behavior. jill’s conscience is pretty much seared beyond redemption and had been for some time. I felt sending cards to Andy Cohen and bravo execs would have an effect though.

Lynn did nothing wrong in suggesting the sending of sympathy cards (whether just 1 card, or 1 card per day) for the purposes stated, and she, nor anyone else did anything wrong by sending these cards as long as nobody sent threats or wasn’t directly harassing.

        I stand behind Lynn 100%.

I wish people would refrain from mentioning Lynn’s name in the same sentence as Jillousy is petrified, scared out of her mind, being sttacked or being harmed in any way. Way to start freaking rumors.

  59. Quincy IL says:

    Any tax lawyers out there????

You can gift a relative/friend? a certain amount. It used to be $10,000 per year. After that amount the person giving the gift would have to pay the tax on that gift…???? I don’t know how this works when men, like Big Poppa are giving all of that money to the bimbo. So… the Giudice relative or Teresa should be paying some taxes on that gift, right? The rest of us out there earning have to pay taxes on every dime. Surely, Teresa has to follow the IRS laws.

    • Had Enough! says:

Don’t need to be a tax attorney on this one. Relatives can give one another an unlimited amount of money each year but they have to report anything over $10,000 per person. No tax is due unless and until it exceeds the federal estate tax limit, which is … shoot – can’t remember what it is now. The huge hikes in the exemption enacted by the Bush administration were set to expire this year (went up to 3.5 million in 2009) and I can’t remember if the exclusion limit was renewed, lowered, etc. Hang on…

OK so for 2010, there is no estate tax. Hurry up and die if you want to be sure your estate doesn’ t have to pay any estate tax.

In 2011, the exclusion (from taxes) will be $1mill unless Congress changes it.

So to answer your question, the amount they claim to have been given is below the estate tax exclusion, so no – it has to be reported but no tax is due.

      • Just a Commoner says:

I think it might be $11,000 now but I’m not positive.

Has anyone checked the Giudices’ 50-lb bag of bird seed for bundles of cash? That’s where I’d look first.

    • Kokuanani says:

Not a tax lawyer, but a lawyer [no longer practicing].

      a) Starting in 2009, the amount that could be given to a person [family or not] without triggering gift tax regulations was $13,000. That’s $13,000 per person, per year.
      b) If you DO give someone more than $13,000 in a year, you have to file a gift tax return. The amount of the gift over $13,000 then starts being toted up against the exclusion you’re allowed for your estate tax.
      c) For most of us mortals, we’ll never have to pay any estate tax. The amount excluded [i.e., your estate has to be greater than this for it to be taxed] has been sliding around for a number of years, but it’s in the millions.
      d) Nonetheless, if you give, say $113,000 to someone during a year, the first $13,000 is okay, but that excess $100,000 will be noted from your gift tax return and “toted” up, and deducted from your estate tax exclusion on your death. Lesson: don’t be giving away that extra $100,000 year after year!!!

The point I tried to make in a prior post is that if some of the “money from family” was coming from the [wink, wink] “Family,” I’m sure that “Family” is not excited about having the IRS start sniffing around.

      • Shadowsnomore says:

And, if I’m not mistaken, if you make any cash purchases, deposits into bank accounts, or wire transfers in the excess of $10,000.00 cash you have to fill out forms for the IRS. At least it was that way a few years ago when I worked at a bnk.

        • Had Enough! says:

You don’t, but the bank or merchant does. That’s how they nailed Spitzer. He was transferring large amounts of money and it got reported.

Kokuanani – what you forgot is that the 13k is per donee and per donor. In other words, Grandma Juicy could give T and each of the T-ettes 13k and so could Grandpa Juicy, without triggering the reporting requirement. So that right there is 120k without reporting.

For 2010, there is no estate tax exclusion. In 2011, it will be $1 million, unless Congress changes that.

    • Morgaine Swann says:

Ugh – Kim and Big Poppa are the reason I don’t watch the Atlanta show. She’s a straight up prostitute and I don’t like that they don’t say that.

Looks like Strega is going into full dictator mode on TwoP. Only two comments today. She’s probably banned half or more of the commenters by now. Rather than shutting the board down, she is just killing all the villagers.

Cleo’s Mommy – I have to disagree about the conflict. A little, maybe. But there are lots of interesting things other than conflict. For instance, Bethenny apparently had some financial issues a couple of years ago and it would be interesting to see how someone deals with that (in a responsible, mature way, not in the Giudice way of stripping cash out of a business, not paying bills, and spending like drunken sailors on shore leave). Look at Alex and Simon – they wrote a book on the joys and hassles of raising kids and people are loving it. Alex talked a little bit about what it felt like to lose a job and how she dealt with it. That’s way more interesting than this BS fighting.
I LOVED Ramona’s renewal ceremony, and I LOVED Turtle Time. I was laughing out loud and wishing I could have been there. It would be great if they told us more about their marriages and issues with their kids. Jill had real drama in her life – very serious stuff with her stepson and Ally being ill. She alluded to it briefly. How she dealt with it in real life would have been far more interesting than this BS fighting.

Sorry. I can’t think of anything the Trained Sasquatch does that would be interesting. She’s just a phony all the time. OH MY GOD! I just finally figured out the contradiction. She’s always claiming she’s authentic and real. Yes, that’s correct. We are seeing the real and authentic Kelly, which is a vapid, brainless phony. In other words, she really is as horrid as she seems. Makes sense. No one would falsely portray themselves to be so horrid.

    • Ellabean says:

Had Enough – Great observation about the stupid paradox that is Kelly Killoren Pretentious Bensimon. Regarding the authentic and real and I have tons of integrity comments:

She feels the need to continually to describe herself – to “prove” her indentity – – – because – – – she doesn’t know who she is – and at 42 she is still growing up and trying to weave some sort of identity – – ‘artist, author, charitable, New York bon vivant, etc’ – she is trying to be something she is not. “But you don’t you people see me…..I am real….I really am….really.”

I use the pronoun “she”. Is Strega a she” ? And what’s up with that stupid screen name.

By the way – Lynn is very cool that she allows us to discuss other blogs – related media – etc…..Her low key tolerant approach keeps her blog lively and interesting and people coming back for more. 🙂

        • Had Enough! says:

Strega is a she. Several of us have figured out who she is and where she lives, but obviously, that information has no value. No one should be threatening anyone or contacting anyone directly. If you have problems with the way Strega does her “job” – we’ve heard that they are basically volunteers who get a small stipend – then write to Bravo, which owns TwoP. But I’m guessing Bravo doesn’t give a shit, beyond not wanting to get sued for something someone posts on TwoP. They have to be aware of what is going on and if they cared, they would have put a stop to it by now.

          • Kokuanani says:

I do think, as I commented above, that if Bravo’s going to look at the various blogs to help them decide whom to bring back, they ought to realize that what ends up on the TWOP blogs — because they’re so severely censored by Strega — is NOT a true representation of what fans feel.

        • Morgaine Swann says:

I don’t consider this a negative, but just FYI, Strega means “Witch” in Italian.

Exactly. The shows can be just as interesting without all the infighting.

Remember the first season of Orange County? There wasn’t a lot of infighting. The focus was more on the wives as individuals, and how they dealt with certain things – family, illness, financial problems, relationships, etc. And the viewers flocked back for the second season, so, obviously, Bravo doesn’t need the ridiculous infighting to make a Housewives show work.

      • CuckooforCocoaPuffs says:

I’ve never posted here before, but I have to say one of my very favorite moments this season was Bethenny and Alex on the boat when they just started giggling over Kelly’s behaviour earlier in the day….. no conflict, just girlfriends enjoying a moment. I could watch a lot more of that.

    • Cleo's Mommy says:

      Hi Had Enough!

I think there may be a bit of a misunderstanding about what I mean by conflict. I’m a writer by trade and conflict is the main ingredient of drama. And reality shows rely on drama just as much as fictional ones.

Conflict does not necessarily have to be about people fighting. Conflict is about struggle, obstacles, problems that need to be solved.

Bethenny dealing with financial problems or boyfriend problems or business problems, is conflict even if she’s not fighting against someone. Sometimes conflict is mostly internal. What Bethenny went through with her father was internal and external conflict. The leaking of her pregnancy created conflict even if it hadn’t climaxed in Alex’s message to Jill. Just Bethenny dealing with the leak, telling Jason about it, dealing with his reaction was all conflict. And that’s why I say that she’s a good subject for a reality series even if she’s not fighting with people because she’s an open book about the good, the bad and the ugly in her life.

My point was that these women either are unwilling to expose or do not have substantive conflicts in their lives. If all you do is shop and blow your hubby for gifts – where is the conflict? If all you are willing to do is say that coping with diorced is hard, rather than showing how hard it is – where’s the conflict. No conflict = no drama = no story = no show.

I’m not suggesting that there can’t or shouldn’t be conflict free scenes that are just fun to watch, but the show needs a motor and and an energy that comes from conflict.

      • Quincy IL says:

        This was an interesting post.

      • Had Enough! says:

Cleo’s Mommy – thanks for the explanation. Yes, I agree entirely that conflict drives a story and we also agree on a more nuanced definition of conflict. I guess the problem is that what is being given to us as conflict is actually a toxic stew of dysfunctional personalities, which is a very unpleasant form of conflict. Like the crap about Jill pitching a hissy fit and a concocted meltdown about not having been told about Bethenny’s father dying. Which, as it turns out, she already knew. She was just angry because other people didn’t stop what they were doing to be sure she knew that the father of a former friend had died. That’s just not conflict. That’s sewage.

Maybe it is Bravo that doesn’t get the meaning of “conflict.” They seem to think it is little more than viciousness and hysteria and all sorts of soap opera shit.

I made this statement a few blogs back, but it is like Project Runway. On Blogging Project Runway, nearly everyone said that they wanted more attention to the creative process and the clothes and less to the interpersonal BS between the contestants. Not to say that they should have eliminated the natural friction between contestants entirely, but it became the main event.

        • Cleo's Mommy says:

Well competition shows have inherent conflict, being that they are competition shows. Everyone is in jeopardy every week. Someone is going home. Every week is filled with tension.

American Idol focuses on the conflict on the stage (with some added conflict between the judges). I think this is a wise move, since the viewers vote every week so it’s best if they stay focused on the performances rather than offstage behavior. Although clearly the voting is not based on performances alone, there are millions of 12 year old girls voting for the guy they have the biggest crush on each week. But I digress…

On the other side of the spectrum there’s Survivor and Big Brother. The nature of these games require interpersonal conflicts. It’s as much about scheming and head games and social engineering as physical strength and ability.

Then there’s all the competition reality shows between those two. I think the fact that there is someone ousted each week creates a kind of pressure cooker which can, but doesn’t always lead to conflict between the contestants. Clearly the producers of most of these shows are seeking to sow the seeds of these potential conflicts, since they usually have the contestants living together.

Also let’s face it, many of the contestants on these shows have huge egos so there’s bound to be jealousy, rivalry, insecurity, etc.

How much or how little of the conflict to show, is a judgment call and a question of taste. But I don’t necessarily think the best choice is to not show any of the conflict, because the stress that these people are under does effect them and the interpersonal dynamics can play a role in how things turn out – especially when they are forced to work in teams or pairs.

Shows like “the bachelor’ show as much as possible, because the premise is a bunch of women competing for the attention of one guy (who usually winds up being a total jackoff although that’s not revealed until the season is over.) Without catfights and hottubs and hysterical crying by women who have just lost the love of their life who they have known for 72 hours, there really is no purpose for this show.

I think that Top Chef strikes the right balance between interpersonal conflict and focus on the competition. It doesn’t feel like they over focus on the conflicts, but they don’t ignore them either.

I also think that with these shows they need a little bit of this other stuff to fill the hour. Because although I agree it would be nice to see a bit more of the creative process, there’s not all that much to see of the creative process – it’s mostly occurs in your head. How many times do you want to watch Rami drape the same piece of material on the dress form as he goes through his creative process? But I agree it would be nice to spend a bit more time in the workroom.

PR has an additional challenge because they don’t want the viewer to really see the garments until the runway show. They want you to have that POW moment when you see how it all came together.

    • sue says:

I agree, something other than the stupid fighting.
It would be nice if Sonja could share more about events like the art show. I think someone pointed out what is probably true that many of the people she interacts with wouldn’t want to be filmed but I would enjoy more vicarious living through Sonja’s life.

I wish I could ask her a question I think I know the answer to. I don’t think in a million years she would have had that despicable scene Jill did buying a $16,000 purse. Jill is such an effing wannabe.

Lynn, Really wonderful blog about Simon and Alex.

I just must say though – I remain doggedly voyeuristic and curious about just what Kelly did the remainder of that evening on the island – that was MUCH WORSE than what we as viewers saw. I am DYING to know……I will await years, if need be, until one of the cast writes a tell all book and reveals it….

She couldn’t have gotten physical or even threaten to get physical with any of the cast – or she would have been gone for the rest of the season.

Even Bethenney who tells it like it is – has said in various blogs and interviews that the cast was “scared” and she thinks it would have shocked viewers to see the rest of the footage and it was ten times worse than what the producers showed. And I don’t think she gets scared easily – we know she is a street smart tough cookie.

Just what in the heck else did Kelly do the rest of that evening……??????????????

    • Anitabee says:

I think she rocked back and forth will chanting Jill Zarin is my only friend … jelly beans….satchels of gold…oh no! Al Sharpton!..gum berries…knives…Bethenny.

  62. coco__butterfly says:

First let me tell you I’m a huge fan of your blog and a fan of RHONYC. No doubt that Jill lost me this season and I never could stand that crazy Kelly. Having said that, I’m enjoying my time off from work and have been twittering away, getting in the spirit of my fav show. What’s really weird is that Jill is going all Kelly on me. I’ve received 3 msg directly from her (or her assistant, I suppose):

    The msgs go as follows:
    who r u?
    Why r u attacking me?
Why are you stalking my me and my family?

Jill is scaring me. She’s a public figure and I’m not. It seems that the @gingerzarin twitter site is making her furious. She blocked everyone that follows this little faux dog.

I hope the people at Bravo read this post, so they will know that the woman is mean and nuts.

Thanks for listening and keep up the fun work.

    • desertgal66 says:

FOFL! Following someone on Twitter is not “stalking”, Jill. Otherwise, we’d ALL be under investigation, even you.

For criminy’s sake, everyone KNOWS that @gingerzarin is a faux dog. THAT’S what Jill is having a fit about?

Get a life, JiZ. Buy a grip.

      She is psychotically manipulative.
Of course, that will not stop me from sending her another Get Well Soon Card…why? because I don’t for one moment believe she has been harrassed.
See what she’s doing to you Coco, right now on twitter?
What do you think her facebook claim is?
Think. If it were true, she certainly would not advertise it until the investigation is completed.

  63. Crazytrain says:

Is it possible, especially with the tougher bankrupcy laws, that Teresa and Joe will be granted their claim?
Do they have to show proof of who gave them the $10,000 a month?

    • Had Enough! says:

Well, if the filing and the things they stated are false, that is actually perjury and they could be prosecuted.

I would be very surprised if the court and the creditors don’t demand proof of the source of that income. Especially the bank that holds the mortgage on the mausoleum. They can’t reaffirm a debt without showing that they can actually make the payments, so the bank is going to want proof. If the court and the creditors don’t demand to see the gift tax returns from the relatives who gave that money, or T&J’s tax returns declaring it as income, or something – a hearing under oath – well, they aren’t doing their jobs. Now until September 14, there were only five people in that family. Each of them could get 10k/yr (oops sorry – in 2009, it was $13,000 per family member). So 5 x 13,000 x 2 (assume that 2 different family members gave them money wink wink because we all know that this money did not come from family members) = $130,000. Little Audriana adds another $13,000/yr/donor to the mix.

Jill really believes in her own myth. She refers to herself as a “celebrity”. She can be best described as some delusional woman from Long Island who has bad taste and raccoon eyes.

Thank goodness there are normal people like Alex and Simon on the show. I have been a fan of them since Season 1…

    • error 404 says:

unfortunately, thanks to Andy Warhol, she is a celebrity and this is her 15 minutes.

I’m sure she is still smarting over Bethenny’s comment that Ramona is the show’s true star and there’d be no show without her. Ouch! J&R have such a long standing “sibling rivalry” that Ramona coming out on top this season probably has Jill giving poor Ginger a few undeserved kicks as she rants around the apt like a Disney villainess.

I’m sure Ginger is playing the part of poor Max as Jill schemes like the Grinch on how she can spoil Christmas in season 4.

      • upperwestsidedude says:

LOL! That picture is funny… We just need to photoshop her face to replace the Grinch’s.

  66. Capiche says:

Just reading the posts on Jill’s harrassment claims…If I’m not mistaken all Lynn had suggested was that people send sympathy cards saying I’m sorry you lost me as a fan or something to that effect. There’s no way in the U.S. of A does that constitute harrassment, even if you send one card a day, especially if the cards were sent to a business, not her home. And as a – sigh – “public figure” her claims are even more ludicrous. Can you imagine how much hate mail, and I mean really threatening mail, that Obama and family must get. See the USPS involved? Anyone getting arrested? Jill must really think we are idiots! You can probably even say “I’m going to kill you!” in a letter and if it isn’t done repeatedly or you have shown actual intent to go thru with your claims, the authorities won’t even bother to give it a second glance. Especially when you have a facebook fan page and twitter account. You have to accept the good with the bad. Jill, you’re a nobody in the grander scheme of things. Get a hobby and teach your dog to sh*t outside!

  67. JillousyHater says:

desertgal – I thought it was a card a day, but now I’m not so sure – I’ hope she doesn’t get in trouble – I honestly didn’t think it was anything anything illegal but my b/f is telling me that would most assuredly be considered harassment.

    • Had Enough! says:

Jillousy – is your boyfriend an attorney? Sending someone a card or letter – even multiple cards or letters – is not harassment under federal law. If it were, I could claim harassment from the credit card companies, who send me dozens and dozens of offers for credit cards every week. (Idiots). I don’t claim to know the criminal codes of all 50 states, but I’d be surprised if it constitutes harassment or stalking under any state law, and I’d be surprised if any prosecutor would bother with it. Can you imagine what the jury would say? They would be furious that someone wasted their precious time complaining about the fact that strangers sent them a lot of mail. Especially a famewhore like Jill Zarin. And the minute she opened her mouth and started whining, they’d probably ask the prosecutor to charge her with assault! She’d probably complain about how long they kept her waiting and didn’t even offer her an hors d’oeuvre.

Seriously, I don’t mean to diss your boyfriend but what exactly is he basing that statement on?

      • error 404 says:

well, the credit cards don’t send death threats.

I think it’s harassment if for example Tweet Maxine sent a sympathy card to Jill every day that said things in it like “I’m gonna break into your apt, cook Ginger and force Alley to eat her” etc…

The cards themselves aren’t harassment, or else every poor widow in the US would have a restraining order against her own family! lol

But I think we all know that this is just typical Jill “mean girl” stunt talk… When I was a kid my neighbor whom we all hated used to ride his bike up and down the sidewalk in front of our house and taunt us, claiming that it was city property and he could be there all he wanted. We was 9. This is about where Jill is at with this “warning”.

      • DarkSonnet says:

LOL – you really have Jill’s number!

      • upperwestsidedude says:

Should we then consider junk mail a crime?

        • Kokuanani says:

Many years ago there was a postal regulation whereby you could declare a piece of mail that came to your house “obscene” and block the sender from sending stuff again. There really was the force of law behind this, and many people filled out the form to declare various solicitations obscene, and then forwarded subsequent pieces of mail to the USPS, asking them to prosecute under the law.

Sadly junk mailers and others got that regulation changed, but it sure was fun while it lasted. [You didn’t have to demonstrate that the mailing was “obscene.” Just your finding it so — i.e., a request to donate to some faux charity or Jill’s picture — was enough.]

This is what is meant by the “good old days.”

    • otaypanky says:

  68. DarkSonnet says:

Thank you Lynn for the enlightening blog of the activities of last night! It was a great way to start the day and very refreshing to have our feelings validated concerning Alex and Simon.

Just a thought about Jill’s most recent accusations that are directed to “families in Chicago and Alabama”. Should we really be surprised by this? Jill’s background has proven that, in order for her to survive in life, she must have a target/enemy to ensure her own validation. She HAS to be in control of her universe, it is the oxygen that sustains her life.

Her perceived control and Queen Bee status (well, she still has Queen B status but not the desired one) has certainly taken a major hit this season both during and after filming. I have no compassion for her self induced state of affairs.

Then, we have last night. Jill’s absolute worst nightmare became a reality. Two of her targets/enemies were able to connect, interact and actually enjoy the company of each other. Cue red head (with extensions) head explosion.

What to do, what to do… Return to normal backup plan of deflect, destroy, and attempt to refocus “control by sympathy” back to her? Issue veiled threats to a group that absolutely has to be a major thorn in her side? (I didn’t use the more familiar PIA term because her head occupying so much space there would be the dominate source of discomfort) Do we know the last time JZ told the truth? Ever?

I chose not to watch NJ this year and I won’t watch NY next series if Kelly is recast. I found watching JZ this season to be exhausting, frustrating and at times demoralizing. I have no desire to ever see her in action again.

JMHO (I’m running as fast as I can, but I can’t get caught up this morning/afternoon! Geeze, guys please stop with the great posts for a minute! Thanks!)

That’s exactly how we know it’s true. There’s no denying it. It just takes me back to the scene when she was shopping with her girls (spending thosuands) and Gia said she’s too pretty work and Teresa tried to play it off and blame it on Danielle. None of you are too pretty or too good to work- so do it.

Plus, she acted like she was too busy all day to know about all the news surrounding her and I don’t have a cell phone, but I’m pretty sure that most people have all their emails, messages, and twitter, etc. sent to their phone. She was at a children’s dance recital- she wasn’t in the lincoln tunnel with no reception. Give me a break! Time to can the NJ wives- pronto.

You know, the only reason Jill was nice to Alex at all is because she feels like she’s above and better then Alex. When Alex had the chutzpa to tell Jill off she just marked her off as unimportant and completely disregarded her. So now that she’s seen that Alex and Simon have garnered quite a fan base it’s taking her to another level of green. She needs to feel superior to everyone so I think it was another huge blow to her ego when Sonja joined the show who is a genuine socialite and not a socialite wannabe.

    • otaypanky says:

…and don’t think for one moment the Sonja would tolerate jizm low-life tirades at one of her get togethers.

  72. boston02127 says:

Jill spoke of redeeming herself by the end of the season. In saying that, she acknowledges her horrible behavior. Using the words “redeeming herself” was a weak way of saying I was wrong but I won’t admit to anything. She came in saying “weapons down” when she was the only one during the whole season with weapons (her mouth & her actions).

She not only hurt others with her mouth she tried very hard to hurt people in their pockets. (A & S and Bethenny’s books). She messed with what has become their careers. Their bread and butter, food on the table. Their income.

She was miserable to watch. Her behavior at LuMan’s book event. Rolling her eyes at everything, sticking her fingers down her throat, talking over everyone. Ripping apart anything and everything at Ramona’s re-newal event. Making fun of people. Teaching people lessons. These are only a few things that made people not like her. Holding a grudge too long was never the main problem. She treated Bethenny awful. People can hold a grudge if their not ready to talk, that’s human nature. Treating Bethenny so horrible was inexcusable.

She’s out of friends. She’s stuck with Kelly. She has nobody else. Nobody else wants to be around her. She came on this show with nothing to bring. She does nothing. I highly doubt she ever “ran with a fabulous group of people”. She was nothing but a bored and bitter woman when she started on the show and the new attention went to her head. Her so called friendship with Kelly ( the woman that can’t be friends with other woman) is a bomb waiting to explode.

Bravo gave these woman a platform and the smart ones graciously ran with it by working hard. Jill tired but made too many stops along the way to chew people up and spit them out. She allowed three simple words to ruin her life. “Get a hobby” How sad is it that she does not have one nice quality, not one. All of her problems and all her misery was cause by her hateful self.

Now she is crying that people are mean and she’s blaming the world for her problems.
She walks thur life with blinders on. She can be forgiven for holding a grudge. It’s everthing else about her that has made people hate her.

I can only hope for Ally that she does great in college. Makes true friends. Makes a good career for herself & meets a great guy and never looks back.

    • BamaBelle says:

      I feel the same way…

I found this site out of frustration at the Bravo website, not being able to post. I never typed one vulgar or threatening word… still, they wouldn’t let me post anything to Jill’s blog.

I wasn’t a fan of Jill’s in the previous seasons. I found her to be extremely obnoxious, I didn’t have any idea how obnoxious she really was. In last years Reunion Show, she ran the whole thing, demanding everybody answer the questions, telling Ramona she couldn’t go “up against meeh”… “can somebody get Kelly a tissue”… just freaking acting like I AM THE BOSS!

Jill Zarin is a FRAUD… trying to make the viewers believe she and her family are such “cuddly bed people”, and acting like her family (mother and sister) are the most important thing to her when the truth is… she didn’t speak to Lisa for years!

Something really puzzles me… Jill, LuMan (LOL, I love that name) and Kelly told anyone who would listen that they were scared of Bethenny. This just drives me CRAZY! Wasn’t it Kelly who assaulted an ex-boyfriend last year, after getting advise from the GREAT Jill Zarin? Wasn’t it Kelly who said she would claw anybodies eyes out who came between her and her children while she was talking to them on the phone and all Ramona did was ask her to go into another room? Wasn’t it Jill who said she wanted to Bitch-slap Ramona? Isn’t it Jill who screams at people to LEAVE, even if it isn’t her house or party?

Jill and Kelly are the ones who are violent… NOT Bethenny! I got so sick of hearing “Bethenny scares me”… how stinking ridicuious!

  73. moneycanbuyyouass says:

Last comment, as I really must get something accomplished today. My dream of dreams is this: Bethenny’s show is a huge success. Bravo decides to “shutterdown” RHONY. The BRAS transition over to Bethenny’s show which probably gets renamed after it’s first record setting first season. Jillousy, LuMan and Kalaminty fall off the face of the Earth, along with their books, songs, joorey and T-shirts!

And Ginger is saved by Caeser Milan and lives happily ever after in Southern California!

  74. Kats says:

Lynn thank you so much for the blogs, all the updates and info you share with all of us. I’m sorry I couldn’t be at the Chicago event even though it’s near my hood, but I hope Alex and Simon enjoyed the city (even if it was bad weather, it’s a beautiful day today!).

I think we can count on Jill being asked back because she brought the ratings (as miserable as she was this season) I guess I can tolerate Jill coming back to watch her continue to either try to redeem herself or dig herself a deeper hole (if it’s more face dives on the ice, I can handle 5 minutes of that each week). But I do predict we will see a total Jill melt down this summer when Bethenny’s new show airs and my gut tells me B’s show will be very successful and with Alex, Ramona and others coming on B’s show – Jill won’t be able to handle it (I hope the cameras are around to watch her head explode, because it will).

The one I DO NOT want back (no if’s, ands or buts about it) is Kelly. IF Kelly comes back, I likely won’t (Are you listening BRAVO?)

When I watched the last episode, I thought it was awful that Bethenny and Jill didn’t make up and I even started sway and feel better about Jill and Luann. BUT it was a long season and I forgot just how horrible, actually vile Jill and Luann were this season. I went back and watched the whole season over and no more swaying for me, I am firming planted against these two, they are not fun to watch and I do think they are not nice people. I don’t blame Bethenny for not making up with them, and I hope she just cuts them out for good. While Ramona is no angel at times, I don’t know how Ramona can watch the totality of how they treated her this season and still be friends with them.

    • Kokuanani says:

with Alex, Ramona and others coming on B’s show

I hope Bethenny is taping in a “secret location,” because I wouldn’t put it past Jill to show up to “surprise” her. [Anything for camera time.]

  75. Lila says:

Great entry, Lynn! So nice to get some explanations of what real went down during this past season and news about things we didn’t get to see. I think Jill and Kelly should have there own show- “Jill and Kelly- Free to Be You and Me ( how to alienate an entire nation is just one season).

Sounds like you had a great time meeting Alex and Simon. They sound delightful!

  76. JillousyHater says:

He said he’s basing it on what is WRITTEN in the cards and if it contains harassing language or not. I guess it would be a matter of opinion if the cards would be considered “harassment.” I’m sure Lynn has enough good sense and would NOT harass Jill but I really don’t have any idea of how the law is and how these type of things get interpreted, I’m just throwing it out there. When I saw Jill’s FB post, obviously the first thing I thought of was Lynn and I got a little nervous for her…I do hope no line was crossed. I’m quite sure there were no threatening language in there, but if there too many cards, is that in itself considered harassment? I have no idea?!??

Look. I know that her address/phone number are public record but what is the motivation behind posting it? We do not like her and will continue to dislike her without that information.

Can you imagine if someone were to post Bethenny’s address, Alex and Simon’s or Kelly’s? Jaqueline just complained over twitter that fans were coming to her home and she was nervous and has a lot of security.

I don’t want anyone to cross any lines while showing their disdain for someone on a reality tv show.

Jill looks for anything to build a case against a percieved enemy and comes out guns blazing. Jill is very dangerous. We all know that. She exaggerates and doesn’t know when to stop.

Please don’t continue to feed into this by sending her postal mail to her home or calling her private home number.

That’s not productive because the larger point will be missed by the power-that-be s. People who don’t like her shouldn’t be seen as crazy stalkers. We should be seen as people who have voiced our dislike of a character on a reality-tv show and wish that she doesn’t return because of HER actions.

Same with Teresa. She thinks that the people who disagree with her are Bethenny’s rabid fans and that’s not true. People don’t like her hypocrisy. It has nothing to do with being a Bethenny fan because guess what, Danielle’s fan hate Teresa as well. Many, many have voiced opposition to Teresa, people who don’t even like Bethenny.

We have to play a very specific game when it comes to the Jills and the Teresa’s because they think that B’s fans are crazy stalkers who hate them because they hate Bethenny. And that’s not true. We hate Jill and T because of their behavior in general (towards other castmates, their fans, the public, etc.).

For me, this is a place to voice my opinion about Jill and T, but that’s far as I’m willing to go!

I do love reading Lynn’s Blogs and appreciate the accurate information. I also love the humor of some posters and the funny video’s and other stuff.

To be honest, for me, I am not wasting the price of a stamp on Jill. She angers me, but she is not part of my life. Jill is not a person that I would want to be associated with. I have to give people like Ramona and Alex kudos to even dealing with her. Why would someone want to be friends with anybody where what you say and do is judged? *shrug*

        • Nancyusa says:

          well said

    • katiecoo says:

There is VERY specific language for harassment and threats. VERY. And if it doesn’t meet that criteria there is no crime. I know because I was harassed by a former tenant’s husband and tried to file a police report (just to get something on record) and was strictly informed about what could constitute a “threat”. And calling someone up, swearing, telling them “you better watch your back” and comments like that are NOT legally considered a threat (ask any woman who’s been stalked by an ex). The cop even told me if this crazy man had called me saying “I’m going to come over and kill you” it STILL would not meeting the criteria as there is specific language and he would have had to mention a weapon or some such crazy crap. I was definitely being/feeling threatened/intimidated but getting the police to agree with that is a very different story.

I seriously doubt anyone sent Jill Zarin any kind of mail telling her they were coming to her house to harm her, her dog or anything else. SHE however sent some kind of threatening message to A. Chandler via email in addition to publicly posting that her cat (which is actually a dog) should be taken away from her. (gotta admit I got quite a few laughs off the cat/dog thing). 😉

      • error 404 says:

LOL did she say the cat/dog was a boy when it’s really a girl?

I have no doubt that Jill got like 2 or 3 cards with no threats and is using it to make her seem a victim.

      • ridicurhony says:

agreed – it is HARD to prove.

My thoughts on Jill’s current temper tantrum. She could have posted that weeks ago (isn’t this when the card sending thing was suggested? ). But she needed a little bone to savor to chew on later once the show was over and we enter the Summer of Bethenny. It’s one thing her being out of the spotlight without her book, her show, her drama but quite another that an even BIGGER spotlight will be shining on Bethenny. She needed to create some kind of drama to carry her through the summer.

Wonder what’s next after this one? You know she’s been saving them up like so many lamb chops for Ginger and will pull them out one by one…..and probably lay the blame squarely on Alex somehow.

  78. Tootsie says:

A thousand thanks for this blog. I find it so incredibly interesting and it clears up so much that I either don’t hear or don’t understand. Your blog confirms my affection for Alex and Simon, Ramona and Mario and of course my love for Bethenny and Jason. Mucho gratias.

  79. Kats says:

Oh I forgot to comment on the Jill and Teresa latest crap –

Jill – Based on what we have seen I think there is a good chance Jill is making a Mountain out of “Mole Hill” (Thanks Ramona). Jill is looking for sympathy and can’t handle all of the negative press she created. The part I don’t get is if it’s one family or two, is it whole families after her, do they live in both Chicago and Alabama (the combo of Chicago and Alabama is totally odd and actually more intersting then Jill’s claim). On serious note (IF) any of it is true, it’s just sick and the people should be punished. But say again, I think this is just JZ’s way to get attention this summer.

Teresa – No surprise at all. And I believe this is why Teresa is going after Bethenny, she riding B’s coattails because she desperate and needs the money.

KARMA is at work – both of these “women” are just not nice people and the universe is just letting them know She’s onto them.

PR 102 – Now that you too are a household name, play sister theresa. You don’t need to answer the haterz, they’re making fools of themselves and doing the dirty work for you.

      • error 404 says:

I hope someone goes to the Providence “event” to report on just how many folks are actually there.

  81. error 404 says:

Jill can’t read the temperature of a room either.

She ended season 2 as one of the popular girls.

This gave her a false sense of power that she could take down Bethenny. It backfired big time. When that faltered, she though she could take down unpopular Alex. It too seems to be backfiring.

She loves to use “foot soldiers” in her wars. First it was Lulu trying to get milage out of “countless” and “snake”. But Lulu can read a room, and quickly abandoned such games when they proved ineffective. She then turned her attention to Kiki. Anyone who thinks Kiki won that battle seriously needs a psych evaluation themselves. It was a massacre!

She keeps trying to rally anyone who’s ever been slighted by Bethenny. Rachel Zoe and Gwenyth Paltrow are too smart to engage, so we get the bottom of the intelligence barrel: Teresa Giudice and Patty Stanger. We see how that’s going.

Cidney (left) was made out to be a wholesome Jewish girl with a Masters in Journalism — but they forgot to mention she models for Playboy and was something called Cybergirl of the Month. While Cidney accepted a marriage proposal from Vegas real estate mogul Paul Murad after just one date, turns out the couple have already split. Shocker!

On the show “Marcela” was said to be a travel agent, in actuality she looks a lot like “Victoria” (right) from the escort website Miamicompanions.com. But you don’t have to be a millionaire to date Victoria — she can be all yours for $300/hour!

  87. katiecoo says:

I want to reply to the part about these shows needing the drama element. I agree! But the kind of drama that I think *works* is like on the show Sex and the City–bonded women who are out there in the world fighting their battles but returning to the safe harbor of EACH OTHER. Like it appears in B’s new show, her foibles with planning her wedding, she even apparently has scenes in therapy (!) talking about family issues, she might even have family drama related to the wedding (isn’t there always?) but being able to have the girlfriends (like Alex) to process it all with–laugh and cry with–now THAT is some good fulfilling entertainment for me.
At the end of the day, being out there in that big ol’ world fighting the good fight and returning to the bosom of your inner circle of “fabulous friends” is way more fulfilling and engaging than watching mean spirited cat fight after catight. That was EXHAUSTING and demoralizing.

I want my life AFFIRMED, not the feeling that women (even friends) are catty, mean, horrible to each other…there’s enough of that crap in the world.

I hope I’m making sense. After reading the NYTimes article these are some of my thoughts and I am SO looking forward to B’s new show…it will be a breath of fresh air after the TOXICITY of this season of RHONY. And I’m glad to Alex in the photo in the Times….ohyeah..that’s what I’m talkin about!

I agree with you, Katiecoo. I don’t mind drama but why do they have to fight amongst each other? And this year the fight was just stupid! As women we ALL know how a friend is once she gets a man. She is not going to be hanging from your red pubic hair all day long. She has a boyfriend. She is going to try to nurture that relationship. Jill is an idiot.

She should have been the type of friend that thought of “good intentions” first instead it was all about her and the attention she was not getting. Stupid bitch! I really hope this woman does NOT come back on this show. She is horrible for the housewives brand! Even with the reruns on right now that I normally love to watch on a lazy Sunday I can’t even stand to watch this bitch!

It’s one thing to watch a conflict with a friend , a true friend, get played out and resolved. Quite another to watch one “shred” the other, backstab, mean-girl it to oblivion week after week while smiling the evil smile….it was just flat out depressing. EXCEPT the redemption parts where Ramona/Alex/Bethenny worked out prior differences and emerged TRUE friends. Or would that be TRU friends? That part worked and was very heartwarming to watch, even with the drama and conflict (the Brooklyn Bridge?) . But Zarin was pure toxic…POISON with zero redemption. That was just painful upon painful. NOT good TV or anything.

    • Cleo's Mommy says:

I don’t disagree with, KatieCoo but my point remains that on the HOwives franchise, few of these women, are out there fighting the good fight or letting the cameras come with them when they do. So the inter housewives conflicts as contrived as they are in most cases makes up the balance of the conflict on these shows.

And while these “conjured up” (TM Kelly), overly dramatic conflicts have induced yawns for the Joisey franchise this year, clearly the conflict on RHONY drew in viewers and bloggers.

I don’t doubt anyone’s sincerity here, but I can’t help wondering if there would be hundreds of people commenting every day on this blog if Jill Zarin had not shown herself to be a total asswipe and Kelly had not shown herself to be certifiable.

In reality we all bonded over hating Jill Zarin, not loving Silex and Bethenny, which is not to say there’s not bona fide, well deserved Silex love here – but would people have come together here as they have to express it? Especially if Jill hadn’t shown her true colors which allowed Alex to step up and show how totally fab she is? The BRAS became the BRAS in large part due to Jill’s toxicity. If J & B had remained friends, she may not have bonded with the other women the way she did and Alex very well could have been marginalized.

I agree this season was overly toxic and I don’t think there’s a way to recreate, or god forbid escalate the toxicity next season (thank god!) But I also think that the conflict made this season a must see.

Well Look What I Just Found – this is one of the comments on the Teresa article

    06/06/2010 1:55 PM

The Bankruptcy happened THREE YEARS AGO. Since that time, the Giudices have amassed lots of money, and debt-free. Read Teresa’s tweets “Just Fine” she says. BETHENNY IS THE ONE MAKING THESE CLAIMS AS RETALIATION.

Bethenny lied about Jason being father of her baby. Induced labor so she could fit into bathing suit in time for premiere. Hastened death of her own father to fit it into show schedule, spiked Kelly’s drink on the island, set up Jill Zarin…. we wouldn’t even be talking about Teresa right now if Bethenny hadn’t called the Post w/ false story.

Good Lord, that crazy lady needs to be sent to the same “rest home” as Kelly. Nuts.

      • Jennifer says:

Easy enough to prove max lying …. What are the dates on the court documents? And also they didn’t have huge new mansion 3 years ago so…. I bet it’s recent. Also Teresa barely tweeting today so I think it’s super true 😉 and recent

        • katiecoo says:

I read somewhere yesterday that they filed in October??? It’s very easy to prove public records, in my county you pull them right up, for free. I also don’t believe Teresa was at dance recitals all day yesterday and knew nothing of this scandal breaking as she claimed. You KNOW someone texted her or at the very least she has tweets to her phone…she is very active on Twitter! The tide defintely has turned against her…..

          • Kats says:

TweetLOSERMaxine posted quite a few vile, unthinkable things in the comments area of that Teresa article.

She or it’s (wahtever the piece of garbage is) is pretty sick, like off the charts (even sicker then Kelly). That’s saying a lot.

“tweet” as her friends call her, fell in love with a little white puppy in the window. She worked hard to save up to buy the pup, she even had a name picked out … Gummy Bear.

Finally the day came when Tweet had the dosh to buy Gummy, but was shocked to find upon arriving at the store that a raven-haired wide-jawed harpy had just purchased HER dog.

Tweet lost her job for taking time off to go to the pet store, saying she was sick and going to the doctor.

As she sat around the house, waiting for work, she one day saw her Gummy and the harpy on TV. The black haired witch had named Gummy “Cookie”! Did she know Tweet was allergic to cookies? Nah.

As the years went by, Tweet couldn’t help but “visit” Gummy every thursday night. As the knife-tounged harpy continued to get richer, earn more jobs, land a hubby and a baby, all the while neglecting Gummy more and more… well, let’s just say that one day Tweet just cracked.

  91. Sofi says:

I think Bethenny’s show is going to be a lot of fun and very successful. I can’t wait to see it. I liked her when she was tight with Jill and like her just as much now that things have changed.
I cannot believe Jill is siccing the feds on two people who sent her cards. Maybe the cards said “get a hobby”? When people like me who used to like her are getting more and more disgusted with her, she’s well on her way to flaming out like Star Jones, who got on my last nerve so much that I actually sent an email to ABC suggesting that they replace her. And that came to pass…
Love, love, love Sonya. Another season of RHONY could be great with Sonya and Ramona as the anchors. The countess is good for comic relief. I wouldn’t miss Jill and Kelly – they are both paranoid albeit in different ways. I would pay to see the unshown footage of what transpired on St. John that wasn’t shown on TV.

    • katiecoo says:

ME TOO…along with all the footage from the Reunion show that landed on the cutting rm floor. Put it together as a package and sell it on PPV. I’d host a party for that! lol

  92. upperwestsidedude says:

Jillousy is pulling a PR 101 and I refuse to give this story any more mileage so this is the last time I will comment on this. She is just creating more drama to draw attention to herself. She knows the prevailing winds of popularity are against her so she will do anything she can to draw public sympathy. I am certain that Lynn did nothing wrong in sending her a sympathy card. She never told anyone to send anything that would harass or threaten raccoon eyes. Furthermore, we cannot be certain that this is what Jillousy is even referring to. All this is much ado about nothing and I recommend we all discontinue discussing and speculating about what is going on because that is precisely what Jillousy wants us to do.

    • HD says:

Thank you! I am not sure why people are acting oblivious to this woman’s devices. This is exactly what she wants. F*ck her!

    • Kats says:

Totally agree and will add that for desperate people like Jill, Kelly and Teresa (even throw in Tweet Maxine – they are all on the same level). Ignoring them is the best thing to do.

    • Capiche says:

Agreed. And I now propose that we send letter to Bravo TV, Shed Media or TPTB and alert them that Jill is waging a campaign against us viewers and voice our displeasure of her being on the show. Let’s ignore Jill and her craziness and concentrate our efforts on the real people who could effect change.

    • DarkSonnet says:

Exactly! An excellent recommendation. By doing this, we remove what Jill desires most – attention and perceived control.

  93. desertgal66 says:

I have to add a point about “harassment”. Sending an innocuous card that does not contain a threatening message to a publicly listed address is NOT harassment. However, if Jill Zarin specifically asks an individual to stop sending such cards, and they continue to do so, that IS harassment on the part of the individual.

I would recommend that, if Jill Zarin Tweets or posts a Facebook message asking people to stop or not send her such cards, that, for Lynn’ sake, people should honor that request. Granted, there’s no chance of Lynn being held liable for anything, since she’s done nothing wrong – but keep in mind that nuisance suits are filed in the US every day, and I wouldn’t put it past Jill Zarin to file a nuisance suit just to cause Lynn some aggravation and inconvenience.

    • katiecoo says:

She’d have to get a lawyer to take it on. I think if she was to file such a suit it would be for one purpose: to get some attention for HERSELF during The Summer of Bethenny. TSOB which I will now call it, affectionately. lol

      • Small Town Mama says:

SOB <— It's what Jill will be doing all summer as she watches Bethenny's show succeed!

      • Had Enough! says:

If she is alleging a criminal act, it would be up to the U.S. attorney to decide whether or not to prosecute, though I can readily imagine JZ hocking (Yiddish, from an expression that means “stop banging on my tea kettle” – you’ve got to love Yiddish, no? but used to mean pestering or making a lot of useless noise) the U.S. attorney until he files charges just to shut her up.

So the U.S. attorney would have to decide that (a) there is enough evidence to make conviction likely and (b) it is important enough to waste resources on it. Both unlikely.

A private case would have to rest on either intentional tort (e.g., intentional infliction of emotional distress) or negligence, and I can’t imagine any attorney wasting his/her time on this one. Especially because JZ has got to be the most unsympathetic plaintiff on the face of the earth.

        • katiecoo says:

No kidding! She’d have to prove damages right? I’d love to see an attorney for the general public argue how she’d spent an entire year damaging her own bad reputation! She needs no assistance with that.

      • desertgal66 says:

No, she wouldn’t. Anyone can FILE a lawsuit, even on the most ridiculous of charges-you don’t need a lawyer to do that. You DO need a lawyer, unless you are a fool, to prove a case in a court of law.

  94. Had Enough! says:

Oh, for heavens sake – here we go:

    Sec. 876. Mailing threatening communications

    (a) Whoever knowingly deposits in any post office or authorized
depository for mail matter, to be sent or delivered by the Postal
Service or knowingly causes to be delivered by the Postal Service
according to the direction thereon, any communication, with or without a
name or designating mark subscribed thereto, addressed to any other
person, and containing any demand or request for ransom or reward for
the release of any kidnapped person, shall be fined under this title or
imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
    (b) Whoever, with intent to extort from any person any money or
other thing of value, so deposits, or causes to be delivered, as
aforesaid, any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person
or any threat to injure the person of the addressee or of another, shall
be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or
    (c) Whoever knowingly so deposits or causes to be delivered as
aforesaid, any communication with or without a name or designating mark
subscribed thereto, addressed to any other person and containing any
threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of the
addressee or of another, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned
not more than five years, or both. If such a communication is addressed
to a United States judge, a Federal law enforcement officer, or an
official who is covered by section 1114, the individual shall be fined
under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.
    (d) Whoever, with intent to extort from any person any money or
other thing of value, knowingly so deposits or causes to be delivered,
as aforesaid, any communication, with or without a name or designating mark
subscribed thereto, addressed to any other person and containing any
threat to injure the property or reputation of the addressee or of
another, or the reputation of a deceased person, or any threat to accuse
the addressee or any other person of a crime, shall be fined under this
title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both. If such a
communication is addressed to a United States judge, a Federal law
enforcement officer, or an official who is covered by section 1114, the
individual shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10
    years, or both.

SO …. you can send all the cards and letters you want so long as they don’t contain threats to injure, kidnap, etc.

Are we all clear on this now? I will re-post as necessary.

That being said – look, the world is full of whack-jobs and you never know what someone will do. You may not have criminal responsibility, but wouldn’t you feel awful knowing that someone actually did threaten her or harm her and that you inadvertently helped to make it possible? That being said – it is so easy to find this woman that there’s no reason to think that anything Lynn or Otay said or did had anything to do with it.

    • katiecoo says:

Maybe Ginger sent something to get her kidnapped out of there? Rutroh. lol Thanks for the info!

    • otaypanky says:

Again. jizm has my email address. She can come after me…with what? I have no idea.
      Now Puleeeese hear me!
If there were in fact a criminal investigation, it would not be posted on facebook. If investigators are working with her (and I so highly doubt that) they would bitch slap her for putting too much information out there.
Has she been bitch slapped by authorities?
      Is she in hiding?
No…now she’s on her way to slime boston and providence.
Hmmmm…NYC smell so much sweeter today.

    • desertgal66 says:

I wasn’t referring to the US Postal Service Code. There ARE other laws concerning harassment, regardless of whether it is via the postal service, the Internet, or singing telegrams.

If an individual requests that you cease contacting them, and you continue to do so, that can legally qualify as harassment. Granted, the individual would have to build a fairly solid case to prove harassment before a judge, BUT that doesn’t mean they can’t file a nuisance suit just out of spite and vindictiveness-and we know Jill Zarin is a spiteful and vindictive woman.

So, what is wrong with suggesting that we all attempt to spare Lynn aggravation and inconvenience?

      • Had Enough! says:

JZ referred specifically to the U.S. Postal Service and crimes involving use of the mail.

Yes, there are laws in all 50 states, and they vary but the thing is that unless you happen to live in the state where the alleged violation took place, you are beyond their reach. No one is getting extradited for this kind of thing. They can issue a summons but it can’t be served on you in another state. But again, it is up to the prosecutor and it is hard to imagine any prosecutor going after someone for having sent a nasty letter to a TV personality. Not without a threat, and a pretty serious threat at that.

You are mixing criminal and civil law. What you are calling a nuisance suit by a private individual has nothing to do with stalking or harassment laws. Those are criminal laws. If a private individual files suit, that is a civil case based on intentional tort or negligence.

Here’s a link to the NY statutes: http://public.leginfo.state.ny.us/menugetf.cgi?COMMONQUERY=LAWS

Scroll down to Penal and have a look for yourself. Try 120.45 through 120.60.

It could be that by posting that “warning” Jill is intending to issue a request that the communications cease, but the law requires that she do so clearly. A general statement to the world at large that doesn’t even contain a request to stop is not going to satisfy that requirement.

        • desertgal66 says:

          Fair enough. 🙂

        • courtney says:

diversity jurisdiction would allow jill to sue someone from another state in federal court. they just need to be residents of different states. jill is the kind of person who would go to the trouble of hiring an attny in alabama and sue in federal court there (or in chicago). granted she would have to prove $5000 in damages but if the business was inundated with letters and they had to hire people to sort them, deal with them etc or she had fear for her life and had to hire security then she could try to claim it. simply doing something to someone in another state doesn’t keep you free from being sued civilly

          • Had Enough! says:

Diversity jurisdiction only applies to FEDERAL courts and the rule is not only that the litigants have to be citizens of different states. The claim for damages must exceed $75,000, not $5,000.

            Again, from the U.S. Code:

            Sec. 1332. Diversity of citizenship; amount in controversy;

            (a) The district courts shall have original jurisdiction of all
civil actions where the matter in controversy exceeds the sum or value
of $75,000, exclusive of interest and costs, and is between–
            (1) citizens of different States;

ROTFL – Had Enough! strikes again!

      • desertgal66 says:

My only intent in encouraging people to not send cards was to, hopefully, spare Lynn some aggravation and inconvenience. Granted, I had my facts wrong, and I admit that, but that doesn’t change my good intentions.

Watching Had Enough! verbally slap down well meaning people is that funny?

        • Had Enough! says:

Desertgal66 – I am definitely NOT trying to slap you down. I am trying to prevent you – and others who are well-meaning – from scaring the bejeebus out of others, including Lynn. I actually agree with you that no one should be contacting any of these people personally – by phone, e-mail, U.S. Mail, FedEx, etc. But that’s a personal opinion about right and wrong, not the law.

This is too serious a matter to be giving advice based on what people “understand” the law to be. It is easy enough to look it up.

I just don’t want anyone to freak out over this.

I am really, really sorry I made you feel that way.

        • A former Jill fan says:

desertgal66, I think your intentions were quite good in hoping to spare Lynn any possible aggravation and inconvenience by raising the question whether or not we should even send cards.

The thing about that is, Lynn wouldn’t be responsible for what others do, even if it was her idea to send sympathy cards, if someone else decided to do so and included a threat or was openly harassing. We all know that Lynn was not inciting people to do that. If she had said “let’s send jill cards and harass her and threaten her,” then she might very well be in for some scrutiny.

Jill probably is stretching the truth here anyway saying someone threatened her when that didn’t even happen, knowing Jill. That’s what it sounds like to me.

In fact, knowing Jill, I expected her to play the victim card when she did get cards. That’s because she’s so transparent.

I think we all appreciate hearing different views on matters and that Had Enough was not really trying to slap you down for expressing your concerns, but was trying to help relieve anybody’s concerns about this matter.

    • A former Jill fan says:

Amen! Thanks for that Had Enough!

Jill posted on twitter that someone posted her addy and encouraged sending her threatening mail.

Zarin Fabrics’ addy is a matter of public record. Nobody here encouraged sending threatening letters to her. Let jill rant and rave; in the end it’s hurting only her. (see the realitytea article)

If someone did send her a threat, I hope the authorities do check them out, but in reality, I think jill is just stomping her foot AGAIN and throwing a temper tantrum.

Playing that old sympathy card! 😛

JILL: whah, whah, whah! whah, whah, whah!

Apparently Jill has not read Gavin DeBecker who specializes in stalking/predatory behavior (The Gift of Fear is a must read imo). He says DO NOT ENGAGE 100% in this kind of behavior as any kind of attention feeds it. But as Jill is only interested in attention, she will not only engage, she will advertise it for the world to engage in with her. This post-RHONY phase will be interesting to view her desperate attempts to get attention as TSOB soars. I know that sounds so mean, but it’s the impact she’s left on me. I’ll get over it though. 😀

SO GLAD I found this blog – it is refreshing!

While I don’t HATE Jill, I don’t watch her her scenes anymore. She IS what you see in Season 3, she tried to hide it the first two seasons – but if you KNOW anyone like her, then you KNEW then what she really is….

She doesn’t add anything to this show anymore – the lies (even she can’t keep straight anymore), the “I wanna change, I can’t change” crap, and the fact that she is not nice or charitable, sincerely happy for anyone but herself, the grudges and the fake apologies.

BRAVO can do much better in selecting a replacement for her.
Will she be missed? Only by herself.

    • error 404 says:

Jill was always an annoying yenta, right from the get go when Ramona shrewdly played her and failed to invite her for girl’s dinner, but invited gossip Lulu who was sure to waste no time in finking. I’m just surprised there was no scene of Lulu texting Jill form the bathroom at the house.

But she wasn’t malicious, just annoying.

In Season 3 we saw her try to take down an enemy… in this case, the show’s most popular housewife.

All the stuff about her complaining about no hors du overs, leaving when her enemies enter etc… is just the icing on the cake of mean spirited revenge she baked.

  102. otaypanky says:

    anything? nothing?

    • katiecoo says:

Apparently Jill’s “press” was all about her galavanting going to parties last summer while she was nursing Bobby back to health with matzo ball soup and latkes….if we are to believe Bethenny WHICH WE DO.

  104. otaypanky says:

While some Bravo housewives take their unpopularity with viewers in stride, case in point – Nene Leakes, it seems others will go to any lengths to try to get viewers to like them once again, case in point – Jill Zarin of the Real Housewives of New York City.

Jill, who’s popularity has taken a huge dive this season, all thanks to her mean girl behavior, simply refuses to be un-liked. And just how far is Jill willing to go to get you the viewer to like her again? Well according to the new UsWeekly cover story, Jill went as far as to hire 4, yes 4 media consultants to try to help her repair her tarnished image.

So what does it mean when one woman has 4 media consultants on her payroll? Well it means 99.98% of what she says and does is contrived and calculated, whether it be asking her former BFF to be her friend again just a week after calling her wedding a “circus,” or even leaking out a story to the press to falsely proclaim she and the said BFF are friends again.

And just this weekend, Jill, who according to the UsWeekly article uses her mean girl behavior to overcompensate for being unpopular in High School, posted the following message on her twitter and facebook-

“I will not tolerate haters on my my Facebook and Twitter accounts anymore. The show is now OVER. I will be blocking anyone following the serious haters as well. Dina gave me good advice. You know who I mean. Haters come with being a celebrity..we all have them but I will do my best to block them and their followers. Peace and Love…not hate. If I blk you by accident. post on jillzarin.com and I will get it.”

It seems Jill and her co-star Kelly Bensimon are very fond of the word “hater.” And its safe to guess that a “hater” in the eyes of Jill is anyone who is critical of her vile bad behavior this season. Oddly enough, Jill/Susan Saunders was caught earlier this year, harassing and threatening someone on Amazon.com who gave her book a bad review.

Jill, who got a lot of sympathetic comments on her facebook (but then again if she got negative ones, we would have no way of knowing considering she reportedly pays someone to delete negative comments) decided to turn it up a notch just hours later, posting the following –

“So..we are being harassed and threatened by a family from chicago and Alabama. We have contacted authorities. I will block anyone who is linked to them per postal service law enforcement until they finish investigation. This is a serious crime and all evidence has been handed over. If you are involved in anyway..I sugg…est you stop. Enough is enough. It is NOT funny or a joke.”

What’s interesting is celebs or people in the public eye are always told to NEVER publicly discuss or announce to the public that they are being threatened or harassed. One of the main reasons for this rule is to not encourage other nutjobs to do the same. And by the way, getting threats or being harassed is very common for celebrities, reality stars included. What is rare however is deciding to announce it to the world.

Jill, being the crafty one that she is, however is more concerned with manipulating getting the fans to feel sorry for her than following proper protocol. And considering the long list of Bravo Housewives who are not too popular with the viewers, it’s highly unlikely Jill is the first one to receive threats or be harassed. She is however the one to announce it to the world. But then again, perhaps it’s not Jill’s fault. Maybe one of the four media consultants she hired advised her to do so. Ahh that crafty Jill!

  105. Small Town Mama says:

It’s interesting to me that she posted this today, a Sunday. There’s no mail today, no one is around for her to hand over her fan mail until Monday. So all of this had to happen days ago. Why speak up about now?

My guess is she hasn’t handed them over to anyone and we’ll never see proof of these so called threats. She’s looking to get some press in tomorrow mornings gossip columns to help get her version of the reunion out there just like she did for this past season.

  106. Kats says:

There are a lot of people who are dealing with the same things but for B it happened all at the same time, it’s exhausting when I think of it all. But I for one can’t wait to see more about the business and how she keeps herself in such great shape (and learn more about Jason, I hope we get to see his family). The other day I was trying to figure out the “draw” I guess I have to her and I see parts of her that are like me and like my sisters and friends. I think that’s what makes her relatable for me and so enjoyable to watch. Kind of feel like I’m going through it all with her in a weird way and there is a protection or loyalty I have for her because of that. Does that make sense?

    • katiecoo says:

Yes! I feel the same way! Did you see the clip where she’s talking to Jason then about therapy and their family backrounds? She talks about hers being gambling and bars and his family being like a “poetry reading”. LMAO, she’s so great w/ the quips. TSOB! The Summer of Bethenny’s gonna rock!

      • morning says:

Only thing about that clip that scared me was Jason saying that if a couple needs therapy, the relationship is already over. No Jason, that’s what happens sometimes in the course of a lifelong marriage if you’re lucky and/or smart enough to see that you need it.

        • katiecoo says:

True. Sadly though, when I went in to therapy at the end of my marriage, with my then husband (who kept missing the appts), the (male) therapist said to me “all too often what we see is by the time couples enter therapy, the woman is already done–she’s begged and pleaded for so long and the man finally concedes when he realizes this is a real emergency but the woman has already left the building”. I found that very interesting! In my case it was true, although I thought I was trying to work it out, but I was done.

        • Kats says:

I agree with you both, but I think Jason was just being real based on his normal life experiences. Jason also brings up that B was engaged 3 times before. That’s the beauty of them and actaully B vs. previous castmates, they deal with the facts, you can’t just discount the key facts like they never happened. Then we would be calling BS on what they were showing us.

      • sue says:

She really is the queen of quips. In talking about Bryn coming a month early she said it was like getting a baby from China. (That is not a quote so I hope it reads ok).

I don’t personally know anyone who adopted from overseas but her analogy is perfect. It sounds complicated.

    • Sue says:

I cannot wait to see B’s show. I think I like her because she’s honest and she cops to her faults i.e. sarcastic. She seems real, that she’s had struggles like her family life, weight, etc. The little interactions I’ve seen with Bethenny and Jason are just sweet.

      • morning says:

The clip they’ve shown with her making fun of his basketball from high school or some such really made me laugh. But if she’s really smart she’ll let him keep the damn thing displayed.

    • error 404 says:

as rude and tacky as Ramona’s bklyn bridge attack was, it didn’t come out of nowhere. Bethenny has a laundry list of failed relationships behind her and even true love isn’t enough to save a marriage if it starts failing due to misbehavior. I hope she and Jason last, but…. they are having a baby and getting married, and living together all at once so quickly and all of it is being filmed for public consumption.. it’s like a recipe for disaster! I truly ope they survive such madness, but it won’t be their fault if they don’t, it’s a lot to put on one’s plate.

  107. Sue says:

Lynn, very jealous that you got meet Silex and had such a wonderful time meeting them. It’s very nice to know that what you see on tv is what you get in real life….that there is no fake-ness to Alex and Simon.

If BRAVO I would love to see Bethenny on the show again. Throw her some money and keep her on. How great would it be if Bethenny was paid more than Jill????? Alex, Ramona, and Sonja should stay on the show. We DON’T necessarily need drama all the time. If Bethenny’s show does well for the sweet time of her life then that proves that point. I would have loved to see more interaction between Silex and their kids or Ramona at work, etc. I would be perfectly content to not have Jill or Kelly on that show again. Kelly does not bring anything worthwhile to the show. There are plenty of women in NY that would be a better fit. LuAnn could stay. I think we’d see a different person if she was next to the “toxicity” named Jill.

  108. little rock says:

Lynn, loved your blog (all of them, but esp this one.) And so many great comments from the gang. My 2 cents on something that has bothered me and that i have mentioned in the past: bobby and his defense of jill. While i think it’s great that he cares so much about jill’s “friendships”, he just does not come off well in the execution. First of all, he doesen’t have the personality of mario or simon. That’s not his fault, it’s just that it might help sway the other women (and us savvy viewers) if he had some umph!
He is usually MIA and when he IS in a scene, he’s background. So when he speaks to alex and then bethenny and alex about their treatment of jill, it just doesn’t work for him.
I’m sure he is a very nice guy, and god love him for putting up with jill, but he really is the wrong cheerleader for her. If he were there for some of the nasty things she has done/said and THEN wanted to come to her defense, that would be one thing. But for him to try to solicit apologies from the others without the benefit of first hand exposure, it just makes him look clueless, at best.
I’m with Otay, have any of bobby’s calls about reconcilliation come AFTER the airing of the episodes? Has bobby seen that jill wouldn’t talk to alex at luann’s homeless/clothing party at sonja’s? Has he seen that jill got up from the table and walked away without speaking to bethenny at kelly’s bachelor party? Has he seen where jill laughingly and maliciously spouted an unflattering story to alex about her sons? Has bobby seen and heard jill say to bethenny “we are done” and to alex “just leave”?
I’m thinking that if he is making phone calls to the others, it should be to apologize to those two ladies for EVER asking them to reconcile with his wife. What he did WHILE the season was being filmed is one thing, but to ask ANYTHING of alex and bethenny AFTER watching the same episodes we’re seeing, makes bobby almost as bad as jill.
    OMG, that felt good.

    • error 404 says:

Bobby almost single handedly switched Jill from attack mode to contrition in her ill conceived feud with Bethenny. That alone was worth more than all 4 media consultants put together. When she embarrasses herself, she also hurts the business.

Now that Ally is headed off to college, and he’s no longer kicking a mom with a child to the curb, don’t be surprised to hear news of a “trial separation”.

      • Kat says:

Error I was thinking the same thing about divorce, maybe because it is what I would do. I’d be out of there so fast the door wouldn’t hit me in the ass.
Jill and her mouth need some alone time.

      • Had Enough! says:

Well, what she said Bobby said (when she was at lunch with LuAnn) is that she shouldn’t have cut Bethenny off but just backed away from the relationship, i.e., just disengage without all the vitriol. That’s good advice in terms of not having damaged her image, but I don’t know if that is what Bobby meant. I think he meant that she really should have thought about what it would mean to lose such a close friend and that she really should have tried to work it out.

That would be consistent with him making phone calls to Simon, and with his asking Alex to talk to her, and taking her to St. John to make up with Bethenny.

The wall I’d like to be a fly on is Bobby’s kids’ – I can only imagine what they said about her before RHoNYC, and now….whew! If you read this article, the younger son would be dead if not for her:

As if his own mother and father stood by and did nothing.

And oddly enough, in his 18 minute interview (is he cute or what?), he never mentions being on the heart transplant list.

Though I have to admit that Jill is the kind who would harass the living daylights out of any doc to get better care.

Anyhow, this would be conflict worth watching – how Bobby’s family copes with this bitch. Can you imagine how exhausting it must be?

  109. error 404 says:

I don’t blame Jill for hiring 4 media consultants… her reputation is headed straight off a cliff!

What’s shocking is that after all that coaching… storming out of the reunion show in tears and threatening to sic the authorities on critical fans is all they came up with? Who are these 4 media consultants: OJ Simpson, Tonya Harding, Amy Fisher and Jon Gosselin?

  110. Cleo's Mommy says:

Now you all know I’m no fan of Dina….AND YET look at the TIMING of this story….. All of this ‘bankruptcy’ business is dredged up IMMEDIATELY after Teresa says stuff about BETHENNY. Hmmmmm…the “HATER” Dina talks about IS BETHENNY !!!!
    TweetMaxine | June 6, 2010 2:15 PM

    My reply

    Twit Maxine says what?

Are you asking us to believe that Bethenny Frankel, a c-list reality tv star has the media clout to get a reporter for Rupert Murdoch’s NY Post to defame the Giudice’s by falsely claiming they are in bankruptcy?

Or are you suggesting that last October Bethenny Frankel falsely filed bankruptcy papers for the Giudice’s. Just waiting for the day that Teresa would diss her so that she could leak the false bankruptcy papers to the NY Post?

Have you any idea how stupid you sound? Or perhaps your just unhinged.

Now you know what it feels like to be harassed and threatened, just like you threatened and harassed A. Chandler, Amazon’s #1 reviewer for her negative review of your book. It’s not right to threaten or harass anyone. This is something you should have known already. It’s a hard lesson learned now, isn’t it?

    Punchoen N Coffee
Jill, just be aware you will taking alot more heat after the Reunion show…unless you have gotten on your knees and make nice with both Bett and Alex….Enjoy the summer!

    William Ray Williams
I’m from Alabama sorry. No longer a fan. Goodbye and God bless.

    Sylvia Woznichak
Unfortunately this is part of being in the spot light Jill. It doesn’t make it right, but you put you and your family on the show. You brought this to your home by allowing yourself to show who you are in the public eye. I am not condoning their actions, but you really need to take a very long look at yourself and decide if it is worth it.

    Debbie Rumpza
    Stop lying Jill!!

    Debbie Rumpza
Do you all not see what she is doing? Look at the sympathy you are now giving her for some bs she will never reveal because it is NOT true. Do not be sucked into her latest plea for fame and fans, that she could give 2 shits about.

    Anne Fellows Jacques
omg this is too funny….Jill you must have really pissed off some people this season.

Being harassed and threatened is bad, just ask A. Chandler on Amazon, & party planners from the Hamptons.

  115. A former Jill fan says:

The few people who are defending jill on her facebook and twitter should find out all the bad things Jill has done. Some, in ignorance, are saying “it’s just a tv show…”. But they have no idea what jill has done outside that tv show. To defend jill is to wink at her bad behavior and actions. If they don’t know what she’s done, they should find out instead of blindly following her.

Nobody should be held up on such a pedestal that you blindly follow that person regardless of what they have done. In Jill’s case, the evidence is there for anyone to find.

    sue wrote:
“What I find a little funny about Sonja is a major reason she is so well liked; how down to earth she is.

She has way, way farther to go to get down to earth. What I mean is: its pretty amazing if you stop to think about who she was married to. I have no idea what fortune is still left for any Morgans or Vanderbilts etc by 2010 BUT I’m pretty sure there is a whole culture . NOT Jill’s “fabulous circle of friends”.”

I totally agree, and I think Sonja’s husband proably liked that about her too. Nobody, rich or poor, wants to be around a great big phoney, and I think Sonja doesn’t try to change who she is for anybody else’s benefit. I mean she does exaggerate her past a bit- for instance, claiming she’s from Saratoga rather than the boring, nondescript Averill Park, NY, where she actually lived, and when they were all boarding the yacht “Olga,” I heard her telling the other girls that she “grew up around boats.” Um, not in Averill Park she didn’t. But again these are small, silly and harmless exaggerations so who cares? It’s none of my business of course, but I’d love to know how much Sonja got after her divorce. I would imagine there was a pre-nup in place because her husband is smart and Sonja wasn’t his first wife. I’m guessing she did well, and I’m sure the child support alone is plenty, Then again, she still has that 7 million dollar judgement against her which has yet to be paid, apparently. So money is probably always a concern for her.

I’m going off on a tangent here so feel free to scroll on by, but regarding the Morgan fortune today? I know some Morgan relatives, and I once wrote a little biograpy of J.P. Morgan’s wife, Fanny for a local group I worked with. In researching her I ended up reading a ton of books and articles about the man and his family. I interviewed a few of them too, including Dr. Ingalls, (J.P. Morgan’s favorite grandaughter) just before she passed away. The original John Pierpont Morgan was a legend, but he didn’t have nearly as much money as people always assumed he did. He was certainly wealthy, but throughout his life he’d quietly given away large amounts to charity, plus he was always more interested in attaining power than fortune. That’s what really drove him. Control. In 1913 he left an estate of roughly 65 million, plus an art collection worth between 25 and 50 million. Now it’d be worth billions. After the publication of his will, John D. Rockefeller famously remarked, “We were afraid of him all this time and he wasn’t even rich!” Personal wealth aside, though, the man created the first billion dollar corportion, U.S. Steel, and presided over, financed, controlled or owned over fifty other major corporations; everything from A.T. & T. to Con. Ed. to American Harvester to I.M.M. (who built the Titanic), and at one time he controlled more miles of railroad than anyone in U.S. history. I find him to be a totally fascinating character. He was full of contradictions; incredibly controlling but always well-meaning. And the guy single-handedly saved the U.S. Treasury from dissolution, which is pretty impressive if you ask me. He also personally prevented an epic national financial crisis from happening at a time when the banks in the U.S. were waging war against each other and Wall Street was in a serious panic. Morgan wanted the other bankers to stop the hemorage by working together and floating loans, etc, so he summoned the heads of all the major banks/investment firms to a large conference table in the east room of his private library on Madison Avenue. When he summoned you, you showed up. He told them they all needed to come to an agreement, and then he proceeded to lock them in the east room while he went into the west room and played solitaire until that agreement was reached…many hours later. I don’t think there’s ever been another private citizen in this country’s history who could get away wtih basically kidnapping a cadre of powerful bankers like that and forcing them to do what he wanted.

Anyway, back to the fortune: Pierpont’s son Jack (J.P. Junior) inherited the bulk of that original estate, and of course he took over J. P. Morgan & Company as well. J.P.Morgan’s kids were generally very conservative and married other rich people, except youngest daughter, Anne, who became a Power- Lesbian, fought for women’s rights, helped unionize NY garment workers and was awarded the Croix de Guerre for the refugee work she did in France during the war. The money from Sonja’s “Art Party” went to one of Anne Morgan’s French charities. Jack Morgan was VERY successful and added a lot of cash to what his father left him. In large part his profits came from government contracts during wartime. Jack’s son Harry (Henry Sturges Morgan) founded Morgan Stanley & Co. and was also very successful on his own. Harry’s youngest son, John, is Sonja’s ex, and on top of any inherited wealth he has, he also presided over a successful investment company of his own for years. So I’m sure he has serious, serious money still. But none of the Morgans have ever liked publicity or wanted to be seen as “socilaites.” Almost all of them (to this day) are smart, impressive and very accomplished people in their own right. They also tend to be extremely private people and still shun the spotlight just as Pierpont the first did.

OK, sorry for the dissertation, I’ll shut up now:)

    Thanks again, Lynn!

@BravoAndy RT @CysticGal: @GraceCharles She was like, “Well, Andy Cohen and I are not getting along, my mother is still upset, he thought it was okay to play this…”

    On Sunday 6th June 2010, @GloriasGlam said:

@BravoAndy RT @CysticGal: @GraceCharles Ys.Were any #realhousewives tweeters at Brookline Booksmith tonight? She said Andy was antiS for “Good/Bay for Jews?” on WWHL

    This is Andy’s response:

RT @GloriasGlam: @BravoAndy Andy, do you have a comment about Jill calling you anti-semitic at her event yesterday? THAT’S FUNNY!

    Something is wrong with Jill.

    • little rock says:

There IS something wrong with jill: SHE HAS LOST. Whatever she tried to gain this season, whatever she tried to reclaim or redeem – she didn’t. What we’re seeing now are the desperate attempts “to save the Titanic” when it’s already at the bottom of the ocean.
That’s why, bobby, for the sake of your reputation, the best thing you can do is just distance yourself from this disaster that you’re married to. You wont win by defending her. Is it your money that is paying for these PR people? Do you see how she is now attacking her boss, andy cohen? Playing the antisemite card? Attacking viewers for expressing their opinion?

    • lillybee says:

That quote was referring to Gloria’s wedding. It was because Gloria’s mother did not approve of Sol and told her she wouldn’t buy her a wedding dress. Gloria was stuck wearing a cousin’s wedding dress that was used in a summer wedding. It was chiffon.

  125. MommyFrazzled says:

Lynn, that was a fabulous writeup! Kudos to you! Gib told us some of it and said you had more detail. She too said they were so nice and down to earth in person as they seem on TV.

I hope they come back for another season. It took guts for Alex to standup for Bethenny. Jill had Luann and Kelly. They should not have been involved to begin with but 3 on 1 was not fair at all. And for Jill to now act like Alex is enemy #1 is nuts. Seems to be a pattern with those 3 ladies.

Again, very good. Do you hear that? It’s me clapping!!! Go Lynn!

  126. upperwestsidedude says:

I find it very interesting that the bridge-and-tunnel-Cro-Magnon housewife with no forehead has been strangely quiet since the news broke over her impending bankruptcy. If it is true, I hope to see her move into a home that she “skeeves” because that is a bit of karmic justice one could enjoy. The shopkeepers of Franklin Lakes are all breathing a collective sigh of relief at the prospect of not having to face her and her ill-behaved brood on one of their outings.

    • Hooked On Housewives says:

I think the shopkeepers may be breathing a collective sigh of relief because Hairy Harpy paid them in cash.

  127. DarkSonnet says:

I gained some considerable insight into the Reality TV world after reading the NY Times article. Extremely enlightening, I had no idea of the depth of their research activities.

Quick question: How can they do accurate research following the Bravo, etc., website comments when so many of the “negative” comments are deleted?

I’m sure that I am one of the last to read it, but here is the link for anybody who hasn’t.

      • anniieee says:

wondered about the first link..lol. That was a really insightful article, but still makes me wonder if they will keep GodJilla.

      • error 404 says:

it’s interesting that they compare Bethenny to Tabitha Coffee. Both are funny and snarky, but I think what wins us over is that are right. Its like they are saying what we think, but in a much wittier way.

I’m surprised that Jackie Walsh is coming back.. I thought she was toast. Her’s was the only show in the entire article I never even bothered to watch once!

I also think that a major reason why Chef Academy failed, was it’s format. Shows like Project Runway or Sheer Genius: yeah, it’s sad when someone loses, but some loses every week and so it comes off as fair. But in CA, they all stayed until the end, and everyone but 1 student was allowed to graduate. To follow someone for 12 or 16 weeks only to see them be the only one to fail on the very last day? Harsh!

    • Kokuanani says:

Quick question: How can they do accurate research following the Bravo, etc., website comments when so many of the “negative” comments are deleted?

I made that same remark above.

Don’t forget to include the totally closed-down TWOP board.

Maybe with BOTH our comments, Bravo will “get” it.

      • DarkSonnet says:

My apologies, I did not see the post.

        • Cleo's Mommy says:

My guess is that even though they don’t post them all they monitor and track them all and categorize them by whether they’re positive, neutral, negative, etc.

I think Bravo probably tries to find some balance between letting the fans have their say and having some compassion for the bravo-leberties (their cash cows.)

I know people complain about their comments not making it on the boards, I’ve had that happen to me, but when I look I usually see negative comments, even some that are quite vehement. Bravo probably has some some guidelines on how negative the comments can be and also they probably reach a point when the negative comments are so outnumbering the postive it’s like kicking someone when they’re down.

        • Kokuanani says:

Oh, DarkSonnet, I didn’t mean that as a criticism of you. More like a “great minds think alike.”

[If I knew how to insert a smiley face, I’d put one here.]

    • Need a Hobby says:

      1. Bravo’s own messageboards are not heavily moderated, unlike TWOP. So negative comments and discussions about Amazongate, etc. flourished at Bravo’s RHONY messageboards.

      2. While the comments on the cast’s Bravo blogs are screened, obviously Bravo staff see them all, whether they are publicly posted or not. And negative comments do get posted to the Bravo blogs that I’ve seen, despite some claims to the contrary.

  128. Need a Hobby says:

Just a comment about posting personal info (such as others’ home addresses and phone numbers) on Lynn’s blog. Lots of personal info is available on the internet and elsewhere. Doesn’t mean you have to post it on someone else’s blog just to make the point.

Is it illegal? No. But just because it’s not illegal doesn’t mean it’s prudent. I’d say Jill’s already not happy with Lynn, so why post it on Lynn’s blog and fan the flames? Not doing Lynn a favor by doing so, IMO. Does anyone doubt that J’s vindictive? Anyone who’s had to pay attorney fees to defend against even specious lawsuits that anyone can file or investigations resulting from a complaint, regardless of the eventual disposition, can testify that it’s no fun. Perhaps that’s an extreme possibility, but why test it on Lynn’s blog?

There’s a reason many, if not most, responsible internet messageboards have rules against posting of such personal info, even if it is publicly available. Just my 2 cents.

    • Kokuanani says:

      Thank you, Need.

I totally concur. Let’s be considerate of Lynn, and not just project our own frustrations or the intensity of our hatred of Jill.

    • katiecoo says:

Oh boy you have a good point. I was dragged in to court 3 times last year by a crazed former tenant who went after me, caused me to have to defend myself, called the police on me even though EACH AND EVERY TIME she was denied anything and it was ruled in my favor. She still pushed it to the last limit as she’s also a flaming Narcissist who no one says NO to (in my case, no, you can’t rent here without paying your rent…duh). As my Dad said “anyone can sue anyone for anything as long as someone will hear it”. I’d rather not poke that rattlesnake.

I posted this upthread in the nosebleed seats so I’m reposting.

I apologize for not remembering who but someone posted a link to information about the bankruptcy. I am sure I read that one property had 4 (count ‘em 4) mortgages on it.

    • error 404 says:

it’s a shell game. Now you see my assets, now you don’t. I’d be willing to bet my own Bravo paycheck that the Gs have way more than $79k/year in income. That’s just bs to get them out of paying their debt.

    • upperwestsidedude says:

My sentiments exactly… “Juicy Joe” is not on the up-and-up and all this in cash only business raised red flags in my mind. By the way, what happend to their Maserati that was seen in Season 1?

Harsh!

  134. Olivia says:

Jill now has a PR firm, an assistant, an agent, a make up artist, a lawyer, a hair stylist, a personal shopper, a manicurist, a housekeeper, a dog walker, and a press agent. For someone that most of the US does not know or care about, this is a lot of people to be on the payroll of a person who has zero talent on display.

Something tells me that when Ramona mentioned how surprise she was to hear that Jill was hosting an event at Saks because they were furious at her for returning clothing that had been worn. Bet she made a deal with Saks at that time to “host” this stupid event that would bring more shoppers to the store from being seen on tv thus canceling out Sak’s fury at her behavior.

Very few people in my circle watch this show and her name draws a blank when mentioned. It is kind of surprising to look at other blogs beside this one where the “hate Jill” comments just keep rolling in when we have been told the show only draws less than 2 million viewers.

This woman is desperate, no other word to describe 4 PR people dedicated to make her look acceptable.

    • error 404 says:

her lack of talent is exactly why she needs a team of experts to help: she has nothing propelling her forward but public opinion.

It’s not like she can just make another great movie, or paint another masterpiece, or broker another profitable real estate deal, and all is for-given/gotten. Her entire earning potential/fame is based on people liking her. If they don’t, she’s done.

      • katiecoo says:

        Good points!

      • Cleo's Mommy says:

Speaking about her lack of talent, I remember reading after the first season that she met James Lipton at an event and asked him if she could attend an episode of “inside the actor’s studio” by attend I do not mean sit in the audience and listen to Nicholas Cage or Merryl Streep discuss their careers.

Jill wanted to be the one being interviewed. Apparently Lipton had to point out to her that she wasn’t an accomplished actor, or director or screenwriter. She really believed that her stint on RHONY qualified her to be on the show.

        De. Luuuuuuuuuuuu sional.

    • Hooked On Housewives says:

Girl. You forgot about her partridge in a pear tree. Don’t leave out any of head harpy’s staff. They won’t be happy.

  135. Shadowsnomore says:

Lynn, great blog! I finally got through reading it and all the comments. I’m so glad you confirmed something I’ve always believed. Alex and Simon are terrific people. In the first season of RHONY many felt they came off as pretentious. This is how I’ve seen them-
Sometimes you come across people who appear to have nothing in common with you. Their values, lifestyle, and appearances seem so far off to yours. They are different. But, when you scratch the surface and really, really get to know them…your find you have more in common than you ever imagined. And, they become some of the greatest friends you could ever be blessed with having.

Thanks again Lynn for sharing your experience and filling us in on everything!

Alex and Simon are that quirky couple. They are fiercely protective of their family. They love each other in spite of each other. They make no apologies for who they are. They own it. They are loyal to their friends and appear to give people a chance to prove their friendship. I think this is why Alex didn’t confront Jill until recently. I believe she tried to give Jill the benefit of doubt. But, once Jill crossed that line, watch out! Like Bethenny, Alex wasn’t going to take it anymore. I say good for her.

I like them. They are who they are. I’m not surprised that they were down to earth and took individual time with each fan. Unlike Kelly, They are real. They, unlike Jill, recognize how fortunate they are to have this experience. It has probably opened doors for them that never would have opened otherwise. They seem to truly appreciate their fans and also understand that there will be those out there who won’t get them or like them. They are okay with that. They are respectful to everyone- those who like them and those who don’t.

I’m slightly,no honestly- extremely, jealous of all of you how got the chance to meet them. I’m happy for you, sad for me. Unfortunately, none of their book signings have been remotely in my area. Otherwise, I would have been there with book in hand and plenty of questions to boot.

    • katiecoo says:

Me too! Ahem! Phoenix Arizona is waiting for you Alex and Simon…we are *kind of* a big city?!?

    • MAMAZ says:

shadowsnomore – I wasn’t crazy about Alex and Simon during the first season. Mostly based on with Jill and Bethenny said about them. But during the first reunion I liked the way Alex handled herself. I thought there is more to this woman than I gave her credit for. She continued to impress me in the second season and even more so in this, the third. I hope Bravo lets us see Alex and Simon on their terms and not just through the eyes of the other HW’s.

      • MAMAZ says:

Sorry, that should read What Jill and Bethenny said about them. And I should have also included Ramona.

      • error 404 says:

I continue to live on a separate planet regarding this issue.

ex: season 1, despite hardly knowing them and thinking they are pretentious, (which frankly, we all did at the time) B continues to show up to their parties: Alex’s b-day and then Francois’s b-day. She’s the only HW who give them the time of day, and frankly, IMO going to a kiddie party out in brooklyn is what you do for your best friend, not someone you hate.

At the kiddie party in the outer borough, B comments that the house is a mess, which it was, and then proceeds to play with the kids. I have good friends who won’t play with friends children! She then has a heart 2 heart ‘girlfriend’ talk with Alex.

Seriously? With enemies like Bethenny, who needs friends!

        • upperwestsidedude says:

I completely agree with you! I made the same comment a few weeks ago and all I heard was a collective booing and hissing from other readers. I was not a fan of Bethenny by the end of Season 2 and I actually enjoyed watching the two mean girls square off in opposite corners at the beginning of Season 3. My opinion of her changed this season because she changed her ways regarding Alex. I could never understand all the snark from in the previous 2 seasons but I really think Jill was was the corrupting influence in her behavior.

Jill has never liked Alex and has always felt threatened by her intelligence and solid marriage. Alex is quite talented and a Jill has no real skill-set to set herself apart from the other housewives.

        • MAMAZ says:

That’s certainly true. But remember I am talking about the first season so I really didn’t “get” Bethenny then either. I now know that she is in a lot of ways the opposite of JZ. B may make snarky comments about someone but then treat them with the courtesy. JZ will say great things about someone then trash their event. Like talking during the Countesses book thing. I don’t want to blame editing I’m just saying now that we know Silex let us see them on their own not solely through the eyes of the other H’wives. They came off much better geting gready for Halloween with the boys or when they met with their friends who had moved to New England.

          • upperwestsidedude says:

The snark I understood but she went a little further with Alex and Simon. Like when Bethenny and Jill talked Simon into joining the tennis match to PO Ramona. Then the following week after the episode aired, Bethenny called Simon “revolting” in her blog. WTF? He helped them with their scheme and she turned around and said that about him. I think Bethenny has changed this season and she isn’t under the evil influence of racoon eyes. She has eveloved and I hope it holds. I like seeing her and Alex together.

        • Had Enough! says:

I am on your planet too. I “read” Bethenny as the classic New Yorker. Sharp, fast, tough on the outside. But as anyone can tell you, New Yorkers seem brusque but they are actually the most helpful people in the world. Ask a New Yorker on the street where something is and they will walk you there, even if it means turning around and going in the opposite direction. What happened in Times Square a few weeks ago – people actually speaking up – wouldn’t happen anywhere else in this country. I could name a certain city – heck, its DC – where people would be polite to your face but won’t do jack to help anyone else. Those self-important jerks are just like Jill Zarin. It is all about them. If you told a Metro attendant that there was an unattended box on the platform or the train, they would just stand there and look at you. They wouldn’t even bother to say “so what do you think I should do about it?”

And so Bethenny may have a sharp tongue, but she’s got a heart. A big one. Just watch her with Cookie or Jason, and you can see that. I remember the scene with Alex and Bethenny when Bethenny was handing out cupcakes and they just seemed like two women getting to know one another and hanging out. No agenda, no bullshit. Just that knitting of lives that women do.

  136. Bobbi says:

Lynn, this was a fantastic blog and a wonderful read! I’m certain Alex and Simon appreciated all you did to facilitate the get-together.

It is comforting to have all the feelings I’ve had about them validated. Always nice to know that people you “like” on TV are truly what they appear to be.

  137. MAMAZ says:

Sounds like last night was fun. Wish I could have been there. Alex and Simon sound warm and genuine. The story EBGMommy told was touching. Alex is a lovely, caring woman. Are you listening Bravo? MORE ALEX!
Best wishes to you and your family EBGMommy. And to Jetta and all the others who have shared their stories on this blog. We are not a group of haters. We are a community of people who care about the lives of good, honest, hardworking people. And who still have a few good jokes in them at the end of or even the middle of the day.
One comment on the alleged harrassment. The sympathy card thing wasn’t Lynn’s idea. It was a suggestion to her from a reader. Enough said. I’m not going to feed JZ’s ego by pretending I give a crap about her problems real or imagined.
So when does the reunion air and what is everybody doing for their reunion viewing?

  138. Had Enough! says:

Desertgal66 – please scroll back up or search for our posts – oh heck, I’ll just say it here again and save you the hassle – listen – I did not mean to be slapping you down. Not at all. I can see where you thought it sounded that way. It was just the cumulative frustration of everyone – not just you – talking about what they understood the law to be. And that in turn was getting others in a tizzy about whether Lynn or others might be in hot water. Not that we (a) know if Shrill’s claims are true – she could have gotten the whole idea from us and made the whole thing up or (b) if true, it could have been anyone, and based on what I’ve seen of people here, it is highly unlikely that anyone here wrote anything nasty, much less threatening. But even if true, it was just really important that people actually have the right information so no one would worry and would realize that these were hollow threats BY Jill. She is just trying to rattle cages and play the victim card.

So please please accept my apology. It seems as though it was directed at you, but it was really everyone, and it just happened that I was digging out the info at the time you were posting. I’ve actually been meaning to post this stuff ever since the sympathy card idea came up, but never got around to it.

I really agree with you 100% that no one should ever contact these people directly in any way. I was even thinking of sending a baby gift to Bethenny via Bravo and realized that it would seem incredibly creepy so I decided against it.

    • desertgal66 says:

      Hey, we’re cool. 🙂

And you were right…I should have researched first.

I don’t believe anyone here wrote anything threatening or nasty to Jill, and I also agree that she’s talking out her ass, as usual. I’m just suggesting that it’s probably better to leave off sending any further cards to Zarin’s business address. You know, not to get anyone into a tizzy, but just to play it safe.

Plus, the less excuses Jill has to play the victim, the better.

I don’t think there is anything creepy about sending a baby gift to Bethenny via Bravo. It’s not as if you are attempting to contact her personally, and I’m sure Bravo vets the items she receives through them, to make sure she doesn’t receive anything disturbing. I think it’s a sweet idea, myself. I imagine she received a number of gifts and celebratory messages that way.

      • A former Jill fan says:

Hey, I don’t either. In fact, I was thinking about making a baby quilt to send Bethenny for little Bren. I just have to find the time to do it. 🙂

Lynn Best Blog EVER! Where are the pictures?

Rileykitty – Thanks for email and pictures! Love ya

About Jill saying she has contacted authorities, very serious, blah, blah blah
I’m thinking maybe a certain reviewer that was threatened by Jill and had to spend money on a security system did contact authorities and maybe those authorities are now contacting Jill. I don’t know, just sayin’

But isn’t it just like Jill to try and turn things around? If she is being investigated about threats she made then her first response would to claim victim. We’ve seen it before. Again I don’t know, just sayin’

    • ridicurhony says:

lol, I like your theory. When I posted that stuff about the fbi and twitter on the previous blog, my intention was to point out the language there. When someone says ‘harassed and threatened’, ya know? and I am reading ‘harassed and threatened’ on the twitter safety page, uh it looks to me like they ‘lifted’ that language from there or the USPS and used it to try to scare someone. Jill’s post was a convoluted and all over the place.

I still don’t think it’s too far out there if someone did actually threaten her though, because JZ has really been goin at people on twitter and facebook. If you taunt the right crazy in person, they might just punch you in the face.

It will be interesting if one of those employees cracks and spills the goop on her.

I am soon to be blocked from Jill’s twitter and facebook. Nothing nasty, mind you, just posting links (reality tv’s article) and reminding her of her harassment and threats against A. Chandler, Amazon’s #1 reviewer.

    Boo hoo, Jill, boo hoo!

  142. jb8 says:

The show is not watchable with both Zarin and KKB on, stirring the pot, showing mental craziness and telling lies. The best moments this season came when the four women were celebrating at the villa post Zarin and KKB. The atmosphere was calm, friendly and fun. Conflict has its place, but so does scenes of peaceful existence. I do believe that KKB has some serious emotional baggage that is best not witnessed on national TV. Zarin is shrill and turning into a stereotype which is not good, but overall she changed this season and is just not likeable anymore. I agree with the poster who said Bethenny’s show will be a success and Silex, Ramona, Sonja will just move over to that show. Let LuMann, Jill and Kelly return to their lives and we can declare the RHONY a no go after season 3. Jill killed it, murdered it.

  143. Tracey says:

Jill opened up comments on her website and is now answering questions by asking if people are stalking her by following her dog’s twitter, I think that just might have sent her over.

What a bitch! She will try to play any type of sympathy card she can find!

  145. Shadowsnomore says:

Jill has hired 4 PR people to rebuild her reputation! What a laugh. Jill, I know you and your people troll the blogs so here is some advice and it won’t cost you a damn thing…..

    1. Drop your defenses and read the blogs without getting mad. Learn from what we have to say. Get a clue on why your fan-base has been annihilated.

    2. Watch the season over again from a fan’s POV. Try to allow yourself to see what we saw. Your antics where not charming and you really came off as a mean, despicable, self absorbed woman.

    3. Get a dictionary and learn what the words Genuine, Humble, Honest, Loyal, and Contrite mean. Then look deep into yourself and honestly see if any of those things exist. If they do, then practice them more. If they don’t, you’re screwed.

    4. Quit bashing everyone who doesn’t like you. Stay off Facebook, Twitter, and giving interviews to anyone and everyone. Quit blaming everyone for your bad behavior. Own what you’ve done. You’ve earned the lumps so now take them. Own up to Amazongate, trashing people in the press and on blogs, and all the lies you’ve spread.

    5. Learn to be SORRY and mean it. We don’t want a fake Tiger Woods apology. Be sorry for real, not sorry for being exposed. If you can’t then forget being a Bravo darling. Embrace being thought of as a BITCH forever. We fans are not stupid or as gullible as you thought. We see through the bullshit.

    6. Listen to the advice Ramona and Bethenny both gave you. Quit being self absorbed and change. You can if you really want to. Don’t try to change to get fans back. Change because you see yourself as you really are. See yourself as Bethenny, Alex, Ramona and the fans have saw you. It’s not what you thought we’d see. It was truly ugly and hateful. You became so full of yourself and fake that no one trusts you anymore.

    7. Quit blaming Alex, Ramona, Bethenny, fans or anyone else for your behavior, poor book reviews or anything else you don’t like. Not everyone is going to love you or your book. Get use to it. You can’t control people, feelings or the world. Quit trying.

    8. Swallow your pride. Even if Bethenny doesn’t want you to grovel, some of us do. Accept it.

I doubt Jill will take any of this advice. She is too full of herself and used to buying her way out of problems. A girl can try though!

    • Marie Laveau says:

This is excellent advice. Unfortunately, Jill — based upon her past behavior — is probably unlikely to take it.

One of the many (many, many, many — I could go on, but I don’t have all day) problems with Jill is she thinks she knows it all. So, she doesn’t really listen to advice. My Father used to always tell me, “Be smart enough to know that you don’t know everything,” and that saying and attitude has helped me to constantly evolve and grow into a, hopefully, better person. One of the problems with Jill is that she is really very DUMB when it comes to people and to how she comes across to and behaves with them, but she mistakenly believes that she is very smart (In short, she is not smart enough to know that she does not know everything, which leads to her failure to be smart enough to listen to and follow wise counsel). That’s why she keeps getting caught with all of the crap she tries to pull (I mean, Amazon-gate, Baby-gate, her failed plan to destroy Bethenny….all so easy to see through and very poorly executed. I mean, she gets busted almost immediately OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It’s laughable and, sadly, really pathetic. Like Bethenny said in a recent interview, Jill can’t even get out of her own way. So true). Jill OVERestimates HER intelligence and seriously UNDERestimates the intelligence of the viewer — hence, her disastrous season.

Bethenny has always respected the intelligence of the viewer. That’s why Bethenny is “UP HERE,” and Jill is “DOWN THERE.”

Again, excellent advice for Jill-zilla. Too bad the DUMBASS probably won’t take it!

  146. lillybee says:

Lol, I was thinking of sending Ginger a good luck card on her escape plans. That twitter is pure genius.

  147. Mel says:

Don’t need a crystal ball to see how this is going to play out. Jill Zarin decides not to renew RHWNY due to hostile sympathy card sending. (truth will be that she is not actually offered a contract…or that Bobby tells her to just stop!)
Funny, she thanked all the fans for all the great stuff they were sending her, only maybe a week ago?? Something doesn’t smell right.

    • Had Enough! says:

Mel – from your mouth to God’s ear!

Maybe we should send her a monogrammed tote back with a signed copy of Little Kids, Big City and Bethenny’s DVD? And some of Ramona’s jewelry? Can you imagine what she’d say then? That we threatened to murder her!

Here’s a thought – what if they lose Jill but keep her Trained Sasquatch? That would be pretty funny – the idiot tranny would be completely unable to speak. Her jaw would flap but no words would come out. She’d have to get Jill to write her lines on her hand so she could do like Palin does – look down at her palm to see what she’s supposed to say.

  148. Had Enough! says:

I am amusing myself reading the comments on Zarin’s FB. Like the woman who thinks the petition is wrong but then gives the url for the petition. Which, by the way, has 1450 signatures now. A few people picked up on the fact that it is a total BS bid for sympathy and attention. I am actually quite sure she got the whole idea from this blog. A couple of people pointed out that if these threats really existed, and if she is taking them seriously, then why is she posting exactly where she is going every minute of the day. In the middle of all this, someone asks for info on the bedding line.

The vast majority just believed her. They probably believe that’s all her real hair, too.

Can’t wait for the press to pick it up, and then ask to talk to the USPS authority she supposedly talked to, and to see the letters she supposedly turned over…

  149. sue says:

I’m sure this has been discussed before but this beef with Jill hit home. When Alex (Ramona?)told Jill that B’s dad was ill, one of the first things out of her mouth was “she’s not close with her dad”.
Both of Jill’s parents are still living so she doesn’t have first hand experience with that loss but I thought this was an A-1 example of what a BITCH she is.
I will NEVER EVER in my life forget when the same happened to me. Ironically it was a loud mouth, queen bee co-worker named Jill. I went to work the morning after my dad died. I was kind of zoning out, she asked what’s wrong. I knew she knew so I said “well you know my dad died” . My loud mouth Jill said “well yeah, but you didn’t live with him, did you?”

If there are any young people reading this, there is a chance you may not have lost anyone close to you yet. As you go into adulthood please tread lightly around anyone who has lost someone. Don’t worry too much about what you say, just say you’re sorry….try not to ignore it and no matter what don’t say anything BITCHY like Jill.

    • desertgal66 says:

Sue, I absolutely agree with you.

I wasn’t close to my dad. He abandoned the family when I was two years old, and I didn’t see him again for many, many years. When I was in my 20’s, I heard from him again, and learned that he was ill with Alzheimer’s. It was very bad. I took him into my home and cared for him until his death four years later. I never really got to know him as a person-whoever he had been had long been taken over by the Alzheimer’s, and I always regretted that. I also never got to ask him why he left, or why he abandoned his child. After he died, a very unfeeling relative pointed out that I shouldn’t feel bad, because “it wasn’t as if we ever had a real father/daughter relationship”. Well, that was true, we never did.

And, like Bethenny, I wasn’t really traumatized by his passing as much as I felt like I could finally close the door on that chapter of my life and move on. But, and I think Bethenny was trying to convey this, you are always left with a little regret over what could have been instead of what was. There is always a sense of loss that comes with losing a parent, even if you weren’t close.

      • sue says:

I am truly sorry for your loss .Isn’t it odd to live with the loss of a parent? I’m sorry you weren’t able to get resolution but how wonderful that you cared for him. Thank you for commenting.
My parent’s divorced when I was 4 and we did the weekend visit thing with dad all my life. It wasn’t a surprise when my stepmom called because he was on oxygen 24 hrs/day and had had heart attacks. We were in a good place. He had bonded with his grandson.
To be honest I kind of threw my grief for him into a pot already filled by my mom’s death 10 mths before and my grandma…….fun times…not.
BUT noone should ever, ever judge the amount of grief you are entitled to, right?
It was just a fleeting moment, an insensitive comment piled on with all the others but seriously:
she took a split second to evaluate in her head “B wasn’t close to her dad, therefor I decide his death doesn’t matter”.

      • MAMAZ says:

desertgal- I am lucky in that I have had a great relationship with both of my parents. It actually made my father’s passing easier for me. I have so many wonderful memories of him. What a cold and hurtful comment your relative made. You may not have had the traditional father/daughter relationship but what you had was REAL. You took him into your home and gave him care and comfort. That was an amazing thing to do. I cannot get over the callous things people will say to the grieving. Just like Kelly trying to minimize what B went through. You can relate to that. You both had to mourn not only the physical death but revisit the lifelong loss of a parent who was still living. I’m so sorry for the very real pain you must have felt.

    • Had Enough! says:

Ally – try reading it. It isn’t a hate page about YOUR DOG. It is a hate page about YOUR MOTHER. By your dog! It is called satire. Surely you will learn about that at the fancy college you are going to attend next year, if your mother doesn’t monopolize all your time.

Yes, the tree has short branches, indeed.

Gee, Ally, remember when you said you wished the dog would die?

The “Ally” tweet has Jill’s grubby little fingerprints all over it. The dog was never Ally’s dog, nor a family dog. It strictly is Jill’s.

So I guess the “my dog” description raised my eyebrows a tad…

  151. Had Enough! says:

Wait – didn’t Jill say that Ally hates the dog? And the dog is always snarling at Ally and trying to bite her. We’ve seen that ourselves.

    • desertgal66 says:

Yeah, what is up with that? Ally clearly couldn’t stand that dog, in those few early episodes. I got the sense she would have been willing to drop kick the little rodent out the window when Mommy wasn’ t looking.

Lynn, I’m so glad you had a wonderful time meeting Alex and Simon! I wish I could’ve been there!
Your gift to the boys was so sweet Lynn! They will love it, and I’m sure Alex and Simon appreciated it! It’s wonderful to hear that they are so down-to-earth and genuine, I’ve really become a big fan of theirs.
How sweet of Bethenny saying hello!!!! I bet that made part of your night, knowing that you touched her in some way, she made sure to send you a little message. I’m sure reading blogs like this helped her SO much while feuding with Jill.
I’m positive Alex and Simon have NOthing to worry about as far as being asked to return next season… WE LOVE YOU guys! And if Bravo’s eye’s are open, they will see it! ; )
I LOL when I realized that ALEX IS the ORIGINAL, REAL Housewife of NY! I didn’t know that she was the 1st that was asked to appear on the series… if you’ve ever been to Jill’s website, you may think otherwise if you notice the phrase on her homepage. Ugh. Jill disgusts me.
It did NOT suprise me at all that Jill tried to plan another trip to deter the ladies from going on the St. John trip. If Jill isn’t the center of attention, she doesn’t want a part of it. That’s why when her little “trip” idea of her own didn’t work, she planned her elaborate entrance to see them.
Seeing Alex’s reaction to Jill’s FOG horn of a mouth, “Suprise!” made me want to reach through the television, take her by the hand, and get her out of there. I really felt for her, I could tell she was so shaken up by it.
I mean, how could Jill even think of doing something like that when she KNEW what was going on with Kelly?! Does Jill think Kelly was “acting”? Jill ran into Kelly at the airport, and STILL went out to “suprise” the ladies AFTER that? On top of that, you don’t even mention the phone calls that were made to you about Kelly? Jill, I think YOU are the moron…. since you use that term so much, I think it’s appropriate here.

I’m so glad you were able to clear some of my questions up, Lynn! I’m sure you gave Alex and Simon tons of thank you’s from us…. & I hope they know they’ve touched people this season, I’m so proud of Alex for standing up for herself, she’s becoming a stronger woman!
Lastly, I just wanted to say I NO longer follow Teresa on twitter. She totally let me down, hell, she let ALL of her fans that are also fans of Bethenny down. Bethenny happens to be my favorite, so she trumps anyone else. I couldn’t believe Teresa’s rant on twitter about B, it wasn’t right. She should be ashamed of herself right now, how ignorant! Once again, Teresa just doesn’t know how to be nice and keep her mouth shut!

Fellow Jill / Kelly haters – anyone here experienced with internet law?
    a) How can Jill and Kelly claim she is being harassed and threatened when all we do is post on a PUBLIC internet forum?
    b) Surely law enforcement would only get involved if Jill / Kelly was personally threatened or she was harassed at home, work or at her private email address/blog?
    c) How does posting insults on a public forum break the law? I mean sure google will cache all these comments for posterity and anyway who does a google search for Jill Zarin or Kelly Bensimon will find comments like:
“Jill Zarin is a vile bitch from hell”
“Jill Zarin is a herpes sore on the ass of the RHONYC”
“Did Jill Zarin have an affair with Bobby while he was married”?
    “Is Kelly a drug addict”
“Kelly could be a meth head”
“Does Kelly have syphilis and has it made her go crazy”?
“Send a post card to Jill Zarin at xyz”
but posting her address online is a matter of public record. Nobody FORCES Jill to come to this website, she has a choice NOT to.
So how can anyone here be breaking the law? Surely this comes under our freedom of speech? And if I want to say that Jill is a herpes pustule on the ass of RHONYC I can do so? It is after all an opinion. And it’s my opinion that Jill Zarin sucks monkey ass!!!!

    Does anybody know:

Is there a general office that handles all charities? Sort of like a Better Business Bureau for charities. Somewhere to find out who runs a specific charity and how much time and money they donate to the charity?

In one weekend we’ve pretty much given Jill a nervous break down and openend a rotten can of worms for Teresa.
    I say….Next!
Apparently Kelly is find and dandy. Never a sorry word for her nasty freak out on the high seas, which tells me she can hold her own. She stated that she’s happy about what happen because it has allowed her to put her name out there and become more charitable. What charities does she volunteer for? Has she added any new charities since November of 2009? Is she just a blow hard?

    • Had Enough! says:

Yes. The IRS regulates 501(c)(3) organizations (charitable organizations). In fact, that is what a 501(c)(3) is – an organization that has been recognized by the IRS as a charitable, scientific, or educational organization. Donations to the organization are thus deductible to the donor (to the extent that something of value was not received in exchange for the donation, e.g., like when you buy stuff from PBS, that’s not a donation unless you pay more than fair market value). And the organization pays no tax on the money it raises so long as that money is related to the organization’s exempt purpose.

States also regulate charitable solicitations – mostly if the organization solicits from the general public. In most states, soliciting from members is not regulated.

However, the records wouldn’t reflect the names of volunteers or individual donors (there are exceptions). The records – which are public – would give the names of the directors and officers, but Kelly has never claimed to be on the board of anything. She just shows up, flashes a smile and her chucky, does a cartwheel or two, screeches hieeee, and splits. She hangs around just long enough to make sure her face is in front of every camera.

      • otaypanky says:

HD \I’ve got to ask..what do you do for a living?

      • boston02127 says:

@Had Enough~~Do you have any ideas on how to find out what charities she is affiliated/connected to?

All she does is talk about how charitiable she is and I never hear of anything she actually does besides what you just posted about her showing face.

        • Had Enough! says:

That’s pretty much it. Unless she’s on the board of an organization, the only thing you can do is google her name and see what comes up, and then if you really have nothing to do, check with those organizations to see if they’ve even heard of her. The two I’ve seen her name associated with are Goodwill and Global Green. She gives some of the profits from her jewelry sales to Goodwill. Haven’t got a clue what she does for Global Green. She painted a park bench green. She went to some event about washing clothes. The thing in Vegas was a benefit for Global Green. Something called Simon G. jewelry held a summer soiree and the proceeds went to Global Green. Have no idea what her role, if any other than guest, might have been. Maybe she went as a “reporter” for Gotham “magazine” or Hamptons “magazine.”

What is needed is more diversity in HWNYC. When I worked at 30 Roc Plaza 400 years ago, I would see so many different nationalities every day. JilZ is a sterotype Jewish hag. How about a happy, well developed Jewish/Hebrew lady with a family. She would celebrate the Sabbath and holy days with her family. They cook the special food, argue about how it should be done, etc. Normal family gripes. Talking head segment would explain the meaning of the dinner, prayers and food. Learning experience for rest of America not familiar with Jewish culture.

THEN: how about somebody who currently lives in NYC, but was born and raised in another country. Could have amusing story lines, i.e. of 1st subway ride, ending up in Brooklyn, calling Alex for HELP. Just think of the possibilities of a woman transferred from Japan, France, Germany or Italy, for example, to work in NYC. The story line possibilities would be endless.

I grew up in Bergen county, NJ and saw many JilZ and Teresa types; however, that is not the norm. Bravo is promoting a sterotype personality. We don’t need any more trash TV. I’ll comment on Teresa at some other time. I did make some comments when Lynn was on the HUB page, but have been a reader of late.

The posters here should open a detective agency…….you are super researchers and come up with the facts.

Me too! I keep saying the same thing, it is just stupid!
I live in the area and I just met a very interesting family of Vietnamese people for one example-we have sooo much diversity here that RHNY, and NJ just do not look like the real picture.
A family member just attended “The” social event of the month here and it wasn’t a wedding, it was a Quinceiara, I probably spelled that wrong? (Spanish 15th Birthday celebration), and you could tell that this family had some class & style with the way they pulled it off.
Bravo may as well be doing the Real Housewives of PA. or Vermont. (no offense to PA or Vermont).
That may be how it is in some areas of the country, but it just isn’t like that in NJ & NY except in very small areas.-But even those people work & shop etc. Its just very integrated & richly diverse.
You said it better than I did DOLCE–but lets keep saying it and maybe they’ll get it?

    Hello All-
I am getting caught up on the Silex book event in Chicago, great post Lynn. I read the Reality Tea post about JZ and her drama. JZ is just pissed because she thought those cards were from her fans. Remember the day of the Reunion taping she tweeted that “Bobby had brought home cards & gifts from the store and she was thanking her fans”. Knowing JZ she probably did not open them at that time, took them on her trip to Boston, open them and realized what it really was and again “made that mountain out of a mole hill”. Also in the Reality Tea article there is a headline about NeNe & Kim not being asked back to RHOA, the article is dated 12/12/09, but check out the very last paragraph it states: “The same thing happened right before the RHWONYC started filming, Jill Zarin allegedly wanted more money, and Bravo wasted no time casting for new housewives threatening to replace Jill.” See below:

    Hi Lynn,

Could you please expand upon the following narrative in your blog?
“Of course we asked Alex about Kelly’s behavior on St. John and to explain what the ladies were all saying about her behavior being ten times worse than what we saw. She reiterated what Bethenny said, that if they continued to film and/or aired more of what went on, there may have been severe consequences for Kelly.”

Specifically, would you please address “…if they continued to film and/or aired more of what went on, there may have been severe consequences for Kelly.”

What potentially “severe consequences” for Kelly where they referring to?

I must say, my initial reaction to KKB’s behavior was that it was caused by drug use. My next impression was that it was bonafide mental illness. However, after viewing several videos in which she is lucid, coherent and engaging I am back to thinking there is a drug issue.

Did the producers ask her to leave b/c she was a danger to herself and/or others? B/c they were concerned about her safety? B/c she was disruptive? On what grounds was she asked to leave?

I’m getting the feeling that there’s a “gentle-ladies” agreement to not specifically identify the source of the behaviorial problems.

Thank you & thank you for your blog. I’m a avid reader & sometime contributor & really do enjoy it.

I don’t understand why Bobby puts up with Jill… why does he let her take credit for Zarin Fabrics? Isn’t it HIS family’s business? His father started it, Bobby continued it and it was HE who made it what it is today… NOT JILL! Does anybody know what his children think of Jill? Doesn’t he have a son?… Anymore children, if anyone knows?

About NASTY Teresa… I can understand why they have to file for bankruptcy… the way she spends money is VULGAR! I can barely stand to watch RHONJ, but I did see a little last night, and some this season. I hate those scenes where Teresa is shopping with those brats (her fault-not theirs)… they have no budget and she lets them run all over the place destroying displays. It’s sickening the way she plops down all that cash, it’s such a “look at how much money I have” thing… nope, I’m not surprised to find they’re having money issues! I don’t believe for one minute that “someone” is giving them all that money to live. VERY FISHY!
