I Hate Jill Zarin Has Ramona Renewed? June 23, 2010

I Hate Jill Zarin     Season End Recap-Ramona Singer    June 23, 2010

The season is over and we will only see the dozens and dozens of repeats of the show and the reunion.  The final episode that Bravo put together of “lost footage” will be airing this week but I’m not expecting to learn anything new.  Typically they string together the scenes that were previously cut from the show because they weren’t interesting enough to put on television during the regular season.

So let’s do a final review on Ramona before we say goodbye since the season focused quite a bit on Ramona’s “Renewal”.  Ramona opened the season explaining that her father passed away and it led to her renewing herself.  A new haircut, a new outlook, renewing her wedding vows and renewing her efforts to get us to buy everything she is selling.  She is selling a lot of stuff!

The opening of the season was the first of many, many parties that we see the housewives attending, this one was hosted by Ramona.  This was definitely a ramonacoaster of a party for the newly transformed housewife.

Luann decided that she would try to solidify her place on the show by causing problems at every party, every fashion show, every scene and Ramona’s yacht party was no exception.  Apparently 6-weeks prior to the scene we’re watching on the yacht, Ramona’s husband Mario, used the term “countless”.

Luann decided that now, during a beautiful day on a beautiful yacht, would be a good time to bring up her broken heart about Mario’s comment to his wife, Ramona.  This makes no sense to anyone since it happened weeks ago and Ramona didn’t say it, Mario said it.  Luann was out of line and knowing Jill the way that we do, she is the voice of reason, we thought for sure Jill would try to put the fire out and appease Luann.  But this isn’t the Jill Zarin we know and love, this is also a renewed housewife.

Jill fuels the fire with comments that make no sense, when we expected Jill to say something like, “let’s talk about it later” or “Ramona, talk to Mario about it, and have him call Luann later”, instead Jill takes up Luann’s ridiculous viewpoint as if it had been discussed prior to the camera’s rolling perhaps?  Jill actually said the exact sentence that she expected Ramona to say and she wasn’t going to be satisfied and let it go until Ramona said exactly those words.  What the hell Jill Zarin?  Would you apologize for something that Bobby did?  I highly doubt it!  Besides if you listen closely, Ramona actually did apologize but LuLu just wouldn’t let it go.

Ramona really let the mean girls get to her and we saw rare tears but they seemed to be more angry than hurt.  Ramona calling Luann and Jill the “mean girls” was certainly a hint of things to come…

This set the tone for Ramona’s relationship with both Jill and Luann.  While Ramona seemed to remain neutral during the majority of the season, it was interesting to note that in reality the St. John trip had already happened, Ramona, surprisingly, kept her neutrality in blogs and interviews throughout the season.  The tension with Jill was there, but she kept it hidden until the reunion.

Ramona tried to influence Alex to stay at her Labor Day party rather than going to Luann’s house, yet when Ramona sat and talked to Bethenny, she didn’t want to say anything about Jill, she wanted to stay neutral.  I think she did try her best to stay friendly with everyone for as long as she could.  Was that part of her renewal or was that Ramona trying to see which team was going to come out on top before making a decision?

So has Ramona changed?  We saw quite a bit of the “old” Ramona starting in this first episode calling Luann “classless” and with both Kelly and Jill at the Kodak Event, she nailed Kelly at the Saks dinner about her breast surgery, tore apart Bethenny on the Brooklyn Bridge, but overall, I would say it was pretty tame in comparison to the “old” Ramona.  We didn’t see Ramona apologize to anyone except Bethenny and that was almost immediately after her insults.  Something clicked and Ramona realized that she was being extremely hurtful to Bethenny which seemed to turn her around and she not only realized what she had done, but explained to Bethenny what she had done and Ramona said she was sorry!

Ramona “renewed” her relationship with Alex and Simon and I think she genuinely likes Alex and enjoys spending time with her.  They do have a lot in common being working moms with their own businesses, loving husbands and shooting a reality show.

Ramona has absolutely done something very right with her marriage and her daughter.  She is clearly in love with her husband and whether the vow renewal ceremony was her idea or Bravo’s idea, the vows that these two people said to each other were real and loving.  Sure, the whole ceremony was a little like watching Days Of Our Lives but it was still sweet!

Avery is a great kid, it was evident in Season One when Ramona seemed to be pushing a little bit  to get Avery into acting or modeling and the child made the adult decision to focus on her school work and not allow anything to get in the way.  Each time we’ve seen Avery she has been polite and respectful.  Sure, she rolled her eyes at her mom every now and then but what teenager hasn’t?   It seems as though Mario is the primary care-giver as in the past, Ramona has explained that Mario is the one who prepares Avery, gets her breakfast and takes her to school every day.  It is nice to see two great parents!

Ramona was actually cute that she was so nervous before walking the runway at Brooklyn Fashion week, she got so excited when Bethenny told her that she was engaged, was loving and caring on the phone with Bethenny discussing B’s father, she seemed to be gracious and patient with Kelly (for as long as she could) on the Virgin Islands trip.  These are some of the things that I couldn’t see Ramona doing in the past two seasons.

I think Ramona has changed, and I think she has absolutely secured her place on The Real Housewives of New York next season.

      Hi Boston,

Did Gwen’s blog get shut down? That would make it how many times now?? Yay Lynn :>

  6. WindyCityWondering says:

Thank you Lynn for making Ramona the topic today! The post that said Ramona is the center of this circle is on to something. She makes us laugh with her as she tells it like she sees it – her renewal has given her some clarity but it hasn’t reigned in her bubbly love for life outlook. She clearly shows us that her family is important to her and not props (like Jill’s constant “where’s Bawby?”) for the show. She has an excitement for life. She didn’t shy away from the unpleasantness of Bethenny’s father’s death and the need for closure. She really did bond with Alex, Sonja and Bethenny on the trip and that bond will be evident next season! She is about trust, she is about support and she will always be about telling like she sees it.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Forgot to add that she deserves a spokeperson gig for Pinot Grigio!

      • vgirl511 says:

HA! I actually think that is a great idea! Some wine company should hire her. A picture of Ramona with a glass in her hand saying “XYZ Pinot Grigio, it’s not just my wine, it’s my blood type!”

        • dumberries says:

Lol! That would be a great slogan. I could totally see Ramona signing up for it too (and thanking Kelly for inspiring another new business venture)

        • WindyCityWondering says:

Or Pinot Grigio……it’s the other white wine!

  7. Melinda says:

Well reviewed……..I believe Ramona has changed…….she has grown, become more self-aware and the core Ramona is still there but she has a better outlook and a better handle on herself!!!

I didn’t like Ramona the first season, last season she was sort of growing on me, but she and Alex won me over this season!!!!!

I LOVE RAMONA and the Ramonacoaster gets me all Ramotional!! 😉

  9. dumberries says:

Not a big fan of the Altanta HWs, but I’ve watched a few episodes from each season. This might be old news, but I hadn’t seen it before. Ne Ne is barely recognizable since the nose job. She looked better before, IMO.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

The descriptive “hot mess” was created for the Atlanta show – it has always been a trainwreck inside a tornado smashing into a hurricane. Apparently this is where Bravo got the idea for RHONJ – another hot mess north of the Mason-Dixson line!

      • dumberries says:

So true! The NJ housewives are hot messes too and harder for me to watch. Not sure if a HW show with family members is workable. They have to try and play nice with each other to keep the family peace, so we get the same old “Danielle is crazy” (true) storyline week after week, whereas the Atlanta HWs are free to turn on each other constantly. Yep, “Hot Mess” is the best description for the Altanta and NJ wives. Makes me appreciate the NY ladies even more (except Zarin who would fit right in on the Altanta or Jersey shows).

        • WindyCityWondering says:

Yes, less family members and their dynamics! Housewives need to be free to fight without with each other free of family rules and/or backlash.

    • Melanie says:

She (NeNe) looks so masculine, she scares me.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

They all scare me, except Kandi – who could likely kick their collective asses.

        • dumberries says:

I agree! Kandi seemed really cool and kind, but there’s something about her that makes me think she’s the one you’d least want to go toe-to-toe with. Someone posted a couple days back that she is hosting a “sex talk” radio internet show. Surprised me, wonder if it’s true?

  10. boston02127 says:

I’ve liked Ramona from the start. I think many people mistake some of the things that come out of her mouth as mean/uncalled for when I feel she’s just fed up with everyone’s crap. Imagine dealing with Jill and Kelly in real life? I’d be snippy too if I had to deal with the two of them.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

I’ve always liked her too! You never knew what she was going to do or say but I always looked forward to her scenes and comments.

    • dumberries says:

You’re right, she just seem to get fed up and then she blows.
I saw a couple of old episodes recently. Made me see that Ramona and Mario have been on to Zarin for longer than most of us. When Zarin couldn’t get a pro to compete in that damn tennis match, she kept bitching and stalling. Loved when Mario called her on it and told her that the 15 minutes of fame was going to her head and to take her toys and go home. Basically, calling her a fame-heady bad sport. So true. And, of course, Ramona’s “she only likes the underdog” comment that was so upsetting at the time, now everyone knows – 100% accurate. Go Ramona!

  11. boston02127 says:

    Jill’s tweet:
@RHONYSchwartz thank you so much. It has been hard on me and am doing a lot of self reflection now. I have definitely changed and for better
Do people really believe her? I guess her overwhelming calculating anger and hate
    towards poor Alex is ok.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

      zzzzzzzzzzzz…..Jill said something?………….zzzzzzzzzzzzz…Jill has really changed again?…..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    • dumberries says:

When people keep telling everyone how much they’ve changed, they usually haven’t (as we see by Zarin’s continued pit bull behavior). Zarin saying she’s changed is the same as Kelly saying she can only be around those that are genuine and kind while defending her vile, disgusting, demented friend Zarin. Just because they say it….

      • WindyCityWondering says:

Jill changes are dependent on unrealistic conditional demands from others! Bethenny didn’t meet those conditions and Alex won’t meet those conditions. LuAnn is rethinking those conditions and Kelly doesn’t know how to spell conditions!

  12. boston02127 says:

When is Bobby going to say enough?

    • dumberries says:

If he hasn’t screamed it from the rooftop (you know, upstairs, lol), then he ain’t ever gonna say it. Betchya he just stays away from home most of the time and doles out cash to keep her kvetching to a minimum. He can never take off his shades; doesn’t want anyone to see that sad regretful look in his eyes. I don’t know if I feel sorry for him or mad at him for enable the beast. Maybe both!

      • WindyCityWondering says:

He is quietly looking for wife number 3……

        • dumberries says:

I would love to see the prenup. There probably is one since he was married before and he’s worth so much. I imagine JZ had a team of legal advisors during the prenup negotiation, clawing for every dime.
I could see Bobby quietly evaluating whether it would cost him more to keep her or kick her to the curb.

          • WindyCityWondering says:

wondering if Jill’s prenup has a time limit?

            • dumberries says:

Ooh, good question. I really would love to see that prenup. Also wonder about his will (sorry, a little morbid). I just think Zarin is always looking at the $$$ in every thing she does, even friendship and marriage.
Why haven’t we ever seen or heard about her adult “step-children”? Ever. Not even at family holiday parties. Bet she is the epitome of the dreaded stop mother.

              • boston02127 says:

@dumberries–I’d love to hear what wife one has to say about Jill. Also, I wonder if wills and prenups are public?

        • boston02127 says:

          @WindyCityWondering–fingers crossed!

          • iwannabeanarchy says:

Wills and prenups are not public info. Wills only become public information once the testator has passed away.

Boston, I have often wondered what wife one thinks of the horror that is JiZ. I’m sure she watches the show and just laughs at her and how absurd she behaves. I always wonder why the exes of all these HW “stars” seldom come forward and comment about their behavior to the press. I’m sure it’s embarassing, but I’m dying to know! I’m also really curious about her ex-husband and what he thinks of her and the show. I would love to know why they split (other than obvious, that she’s impossible). All I know is that Bobby divorced in 1999, and that him and JiZ have been married 9-10 years. Hmm…he didn’t wait very long to re-marry. Interesting…

  13. Quincy IL says:

I could easily be friend with Ramona. She’s generous (boat trips and gifts of face cream LOL) and she tries to be a great hostess. I think I would enjoy going to a dance club with her even though I am a Grandmother.

At work, Ramona is under stress and she doesn’t handle stress well. At home without Jill there to start trouble Ramona is very nice.

I watched the rerun of the 2008 shows recently. They Countess, Jill, and Kelly acted very uppity towards Ramona. What’s wrong with wearing and hat to the horse show. It’s hot and sunny, everyone should have a hat on.

I think Ramona picks up on the negative vibes from the other cast members and she reacts to those vibrations. She’s had long term friends and those are the people who care about Ramona. She needs and wants people who are kind to her. Alex and Bethenny will be great friends to our girl, Ramona. I’m glad that they have found each other in Season 3.

    • boston02127 says:

      @Quincy- I agree.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Ramona also has a bond with Sonja that predates the show, so that is another positive relationship. She never really got into the countass, she’s had enough of Kelly’s craziness and she will call Jill out on her games. I like the renewed Ramona alot.

      • dumberries says:

Seems like Ramona “tolerates” Zarin. She’s probably known Zarin for 15 years and calls her a friend, but really just tries to be friendly towards her. Ramona’s too busy working and having fun to cut Zarin off and then have to worry about dodging all the bullets that would be coming her way. Ramona’s smart and she has Zarin’s number. She does seem to really like Alex, you can see it and I agree that Ramona has absolutely no poker face (good!)

        • WindyCityWondering says:

IMO sometimes they use the word friend when they really mean aquaintance – say hello on the party circuit but don’t really share each other’s lives like friends do.

  14. shamrockblonde says:

Thanks Lynn for a great read – with all that went on with B & J it’s nice to take a step back and consider Ramona – the first season, I thought she was quite daffy, but I must say she seems to have matured and found a way to let go of a hurtful past, something she alluded to even in season 1, and has become stronger for it. I have always liked her realness (a little too bald for me every now and again) but now she seems to have found balance. Mostly I am glad that she seems to have real friendships with Alex and Bethenney as they are the two sharpest and most compassionate ladies of the bunch. I can understand her being reluctant to let go of a friendship with Jill. Look how long it took it her to let go of the hurt from her childhood – but I think she understands Jill on a level that makes her feel sorry for her, and frankly her heart is too big to shut her out entirely. As long as she does not let the poison that is Jill and Lu engulf her, I suspect that she will continue to grow into a beautiful and gracious woman. Love her daughter too – unaffected and real – a rare thing in any arena for a teen these days – I am hoping that she and Sonja will bond as well – her playfulness and grace under pressure is something that will blend well with Ramona personality –

    thanks again Lynn!!

  15. WindyCityWondering says:

Cindy Lauper should be considered for a spot on RHONY…..

    • Char212 says:

I like Cindy but I don’t know if I could listen to her and Kelly! She has a hard time getting her thoughts from her mind to her mouth too lol.

      • anitabee says:

Cindy just got her own reality show. It will revolve around her husband, 12 year old son, and of course, Cindi.

        • WindyCityWondering says:

cool – she tells it like it is in a very self depreciating manner – she could really poke fun at Jill and Kelly and LuAnn with no apologies! I will watch her show.

          • moriasheehan says:

it’s spelled Cyndi and did she really get a show? i love her, have been #1 fan since i first saw video in ’83 i think. mtv was so new and cyndi’s “girls just wanna have fun” came bopping out at 2 a.m. and i was hooked. what a free spirit. i would love to see her and ramona together. LLLL

  16. Samples was busy early this morning. I didn’t respond to her rantings because that is what she craves the most. She isn’t doing this because of some misguided loyalty to Jill. Samples craves the attention. Several times when she’s been thwarted, she has predictably thrown a tantrum. What you saw posted under the guise “Alana Chandler” and the one post under “Lynn” was that tantrum.

I thought “what an idiot” while she was madly raving. But then again, a fool is born every minute. She just provided Alana with more ammo for her lawsuit.

Jill knows what’s going on. I saw Jill tweet in response to one of Lynn’s forum users regarding Jill’s peeps causing havoc. Jill deliberately took the time to answer this person’s tweet saying “my peeps? Sorry.don’t have any, just fans. In hamptons on summer break. Show ever. Everyone should calm down and have fun summer.” about 10 hours ago via web in reply to CdnFillie

    Jill knows.

    • Viki55 says:

I didn’t see anything posted. It looks like it has been deleted and I am sure for good reason. But really, samples actually came to this blog?

      • Lynn already took care of it. I emailed Alana to let her know, but knowing the kind of rantings Samples posts when she’s throwing a tantrum, Alana said she wasn’t even going to bother to look and had more important things to do today. Don’t blame her. Samples is quite predictable. LOL!

    • felony stupid says:

Said it before and I’ll say it again – Jill will end up holding the bag on all this, regardless of her direct involvement with each incident or not. She is painted with the crap each and everyone of these silly morons throw out there.

Saw the stuff last night/early this morning and figured that any response was a waste of time and would only egg this idiot on.

Alana is taking care of business and Lynn continues to be awesome. 🙂

      • CuckooforCocoaPuffs says:

I missed all the “fun”, but went to check Jill’s twitter account to see if this person had tweeted to her – Jill’s twitter was down for a couple of hours earlier this morning… perhaps to it was out to the cleaners. 🙂

      • WindyCityWondering says:

agreed! if this traces back to a family member, it could have only been done for JILL.

  17. Kokuanani says:

I received my weekly e-mail from US Magazine, and there’s an item, “Jill Zarin Plays Golf with Kyle McLaughlin.”

Clearly her many PR minions are at work. Doesn’t Kyle McLaughlin know that it’s not good press to be associated with this bitch?

I’m not even going to link to the stupid thing. I assume Jill will be tweeting about it all too soon. [I don’t follow twitter.]

    • boston02127 says:

@Kokuanani-She tweeted it yesterday. She wouldn’ t let that go by without telling the world.

  18. Char212 says:

I like Ramona too. What I like best is that Ramona couldn’t tell a lie if her life depended on it. Drunk or sober she’s going to say it like she sees it whether she’s your good friend or not. She’s known and been friends with Jill for several years but she has no problem telling Jill what she thinks and I admire that about her. And unlike Jill, she’ll apologize if she feels what she said was hurtful or wrong like she did too B when she said B would probably ruin her relationship with Jason. She thought about it and realized how hurtful that was and apologized to B. Ramona is honest and that’s the best part of her.

  19. StringTheory says:

i would like to comment here after the lost footage special. would that be agreed to?

  20. Sofi says:

When the View hosts brought up Omarosa to compare her to Bethenny and unleashed all that crap for no discernible reason, it seemed as if they were out to get Bethenny. It even turned into an appearance on Joy Behar’s show for Omarosa, who is pretty much a nobody. Do the ladies of the View like Jill that much? Does Jill wield that much power? Don’t they think that Jill has gone a little too far in trying to destroy Bethenny’s livelihood (in the past) and Alex and Simon’s (currently), thereby making it unseemly to be perpetrating her battles?
I used to really like Joy Behar until this.

    • Pantry Viewer says:

I found Sherri’s whole body language to Bethenny disturbing. Seriously, I felt Sherri was oozing with hate/jealousy. Hate to throw that term around, “jealousy”, but it’s what it seemed to me. Her facial expressions, body lanuage, not to mention the gum smacking like a cow was pretty eye-opening to how she felt about Bethenny.

I do not watch that show. I find them all self-important, vapid, boring and irritating as all get-out with all that yacking over each other. So I don’t know if Sherri always behaves that way with every guest…

      • iwannabeanarchy says:

You should have seen how Elisabeth was behaving when Kathy Griffin was on last week. All I have to say is WOW. She was literally pouting the entire segment. She even tried to give her a little jab, and Kathy wasn’t having it. It was awesome. I normally don’t watch the View, because I hate Elisabeth and Sherri, I watched the clip because Kathy Griffin had mentioned it on some other talk show.

    • m293131 says:

Didn’t Bethenny do a pilot for CBS with the same format as the View

      • LosingtheRunofMyself says:

Yes she did, along with Lisa Rinna. Good catch!

Plus, Joy Behar and Jill are the same person.

  21. Olivia says:

I consider myself a “fan” of Sinatra, Steisand, the Dixie Chicks, the Boston Red Sox, Reese’s Pieces, John Grisham, and Bette Midler. These are true performers who have the talent to have the word “star”accompany their names.

Attaching the word “fan” to reality show cast members is a big stretch for me. Plucking people with no talent from obscurity and having them “perform” in front of a camera in staged events does not equal a measure of ability that would invite fandom to those willing to offer themselves up for publicity.

The same applies when I hear Kim Kardashian refer to her “career”. What is that exactly? A willingness to strip down to the bare necessities and pose for pictures which are destined to be seen by males to salivate over? (And I am being kind here in describing the use.)

When I see people as evil as Jill Zarin and Danielle Staub refer to their “fans” it makes me wonder what type of person could ever in a million years offer meaningful support to either one of these two and consider themselves “fans”. Of what?

  22. shanty says:

Lynn, a little while ago, another forum/blog was created because you weren’t sure if you were going to keep blogging at WordPress. I can’t remember the name of it and have lost the link. I do remember registering at the new place and thought we would be moving there after the reunion. Are you going to stay with WordPress?

Also – looking forward to your Top Chef blog for episode 2.

  23. StringTheory says:

yes. please may i speak here?

  24. anitabee says:

Is it just me or does LBG1 at deathby1000papercuts suffer from multiple personalities:
Today’s blog sounds like she is on Alex’s side while just a few days ago she was trying to out Alex as an actress on RHONY?

I really think there are a few different writers that share that by-line.

    • dumberries says:

It is kind of a turn-about. I’m glad this writer reminded of us how long Zarin has been trying to cast out Alex and Simon. Can you imagine what a wretched 4th of July party Zarin would host? I’m sure those that are intentionally uninvited this year will lose a lot of sleep. An ice skating performance is out, so maybe Zarin will do a little backyard hoolahoop performance this year. The swag bag will include Secrets of a Jewish Mother, a big feather earing, and LuAnn’s CD.

  25. StringTheory says:

i think jill is a bad person. she is not so nice to people she looks down on. she did not do anything to make money. she is not so nice.

  26. Olivia says:

In the interest of “fairness” could Bravo please film Juicy Joe having his vasectomy? If we are to be treated to having to witness Danielle’s breast surgery as she bares her breasts not only for the doctor but for the Bravo staff filming this non event, it seems only fair to give the men on the show equal time to be filmed sprucing up their nether regions as well.

The Hustler video also features glimpses of her “piercings” in places only a Gyn should be qualified to examine. This woman is truly disgusting.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Juicy will really need to get snipped now – once they lose the mcmansion those poor girls will have to (gasp!) share rooms!

  27. StringTheory says:

i do not have your language as well as you do. all of you speak better than i do.

  28. StringTheory says:

i do not like this person. she is not nice. i have degrees in economics and mathetics and do not understand this person. she is not nice.

  29. StringTheory says:

i attended the U of Antwerpe. i can type in lower case faster. i am used to cutting corners. i am specializing in economics and mathematics and hope to achieve a doctorate in these majors. friends send to me online special of these shows. they are very dark shows. i do not understand so much fighting for no reason.

  30. WindyCityWondering says:

Another thing about Ramona that I really like is her family. Mario supports her and they are a team. He speaks his mind and adds a dimension to the other ladies and their motives. Avery is the best “kid” on any of the shows – she speaks her own mind with respect and we are watching her grow into a beautiful young lady.

  31. Bravo fan says:

    Hello Everyone,
I just checked out the “other” blog. There is only 6 comments and 1 person wrote twice. lol Also the petition to keep Jill on RHONY only has 55 signatures in 6 days. The get rid of Jill has 1688.

Random thoughts about Ramona: In season one, she rubbed me the wrong way and here’s why: The outbursts and over-the-top dramatics she displayed at the dinner party when Simon accompanied Alex. She practically screeched when Simon shook her hand, went on and on about it being a ‘girls night’ and then rudely ditched the whole scene in pursuit of being with just females at a club to get her groove thang on.
Why does this bother me? Well, I have found with my married / involved friends in the past, when they are at a bad place in their relationship; they seek and need to be around other women that will partake in the HateOnYourMan game. I’ve seen friends do it; I think I may have done it a few times throughout my 23 year relationship with my husband. It happens. So – my thoughts about her season one is that she was NOT happy in her relationship with Mario and this is how it was coming out.
By this last season, I can see that she figured out that what she has with him is golden and needs to be cherished. I didn’t feel any man hating vibes from her this season and therefore, I came to like her a bit more. Maybe something “happened” in their lives and doing the renewal was their way of putting it behind them and moving on. This season I saw love between them and that was nice. I hope its real and I hope it lasts for them for many many years to come.

    • dumberries says:

Ramona said that she felt Alex was co-dependent in the past and that she herself likes strictly “girls night” because her mom was never allowed to do anything without her abusive dad. Brooklyn also turned her off because that’s where the family would hide-out with grandma when daddy dearest was on a rampage. She claims that her dad’s passing allowed her get rid of some of her phobias and see things differently. Doesn’t excuse the behavior you outlined (which as awful) and I don’t know if it’s all true, but it could explain why she’s seeing people more clearly and has become more likable.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Looking back at first season episodes, all of them appeared somewhat unsure of what they were supposed to be doing/saying. Ramona’s reaction to Simon was puzzling and I chalked it up to not knowing how to react and likely thinking this wasn’t what she was told the scene was “girls night out” – which we know doesn’t include boyfriends or husbands. By season two, IMO, they fell into a formula and felt more at ease with each other and the show in general. Everyone, except JILL, figured out it was a show about all of them and that they shared scenes and snippets of their lives! Season three was about Jill’s attempt to wrestle the spotlight back on herself and we all know how that turned out for her!

SO, I get Ramona, and I still hate Jill!

    • Katiecoo says:

You know she kept referring to her father’s death as a turning point for her. She decided to let the past go then. I can see a woman who was raised by a raging abusive father having “male” issues yet Simon is so “one of the girls” and it seemed by the end of the season she was figuring that out (remember when she danced with him?).

I also think she hates surprises and maybe even figured out she was the last to know this little “man coming to GNO party” so was pissed over that too. I would be as well! I cherish my “girl time” and I don’t take kindly to an interloper either…maybe she just needed some place to safely let off steam that night.

    • Zee says:

All good points – thank you. I guess I too am coming to understand her more and hence like her more. I also love that she owns up to lovin her Pinot, and Sonja with her “I was well, feeling my spirits” comment was great. I admit, I have a fondness for Capt. Morgan and his buddy Jimmy Beam once in awhile and oh boy can I say some sillyass things. I certainly hope Ramona is on next season – would miss her. Still hate Jill.

  36. Olivia says:

What I remember was a pretty lousy scene where Ramona, tanked up on her Pinot Grigio, revealed that Lu Ann did not want to invite Alex and Simon to the Labor Day party. She did this to embarrass La Contessa but instead made it pretty painful for Alex to hear this. Lu Ann kept denying it (what else could she do?) and Ramona kept pushing it.

I felt so bad for Alex as it spelled out for her what the cast must have thought of her at that time what with Jill and Lu Ann basically freezing her out and Ramona taking such pleasure in “telling it like it is”. It was purely a hateful gesture on Ramona’s part because she wanted to get even with Lu Ann but succeeded in making Alex feel unwanted. The truth can hurt and Ramona had no business in bringing it up in front of Alex. To continually excuse her behavior by chalking it up to the “truth” is letting her off easy. For someone who gets her own “mellow harshed” so easily you would wish she would be less inclined to sling it back on someone else who should not have had to stand there and watch the battle of wits taking place between her and Lu Ann.

I will have to see how much her “renewal” carries over into another season before I offer up too many “kadoozes” in her favor. Alex may say she has forgiven her but the test will come with another season if they are all invited back.

When Ramona feels cornered or dismissed she has the propensity to behave a lot like Jill.

    • Jill says Jewish husbands are "the best". Then why did she divorce her first one? says:

Ramona doesn’t carry a grudge. Jill does. When cornered, Jill will try to lie her way out of it, if she can. And to me, it looks like when she is lying, she has no qualms about it nor appears to think it a very big deal. It’s probably second nature, although she isn’t a “good ” liar. The closest I’ve seen Ramona lie is when Kelly asked her, at the fashion show, why she wasn’t invited to her Labor Day party.

I do agree that what Ramona did to Alex in order to get back at LuMan was hurtful to Alex. You know, I don’t think any of the HW’s give Alex the respect she deserves, and that goes for Bethenny too. At the reunion, Alex would defend Bethenny and it appeared to me Bethenny was embarressed by it, and possibly because it was Alex defending her. I don’t know. I thought she defended Jill more than she did Alex (her comment to Andy about already having nailed Jill to the cross). Whatever the case, when there were times she could have come to Alex’s defense or simply reinforced what Alex was saying, she didn’t really do that – – in my eyes. And becuase she didn’t, that took the respect I feel for Bethenny down a notch.

Been lurking for six weeks or so. I like reading your comments, Olivia. And thank you, Lynn, for providing this place. I, of course, like reading what you have to say – – and I do read what you have to say. I mean how could one not?!

      With that, back to lurkdom.

Jill apparently has found her summer hobby.

      • boston02127 says:

I can’t believe Jill has absolutly nothing better to. She should spend a day with me cleaning houses, taking smelly hot trains and buses, lugging grocerys home. She’d run back to her home in the Hamptons and kiss her foyer floor. If she spent some time doing something for someone else, she wouldn’t have so much time on her hands to think about herself. Her life is really lonely and awful. It goes to show money doesn’t buy you happiness.
She’s a worthless piece of shit.

I can’t wait to read all the posts… I’m watching the re-runs of Season~2 on now. Jill Zarin has always been a WITCH!

    • bamabelle57 says:

I still have that same stupid quilt!

      • boston02127 says:

@bamabelle57-At the very top of this page on the left it says

Choose a picture from there. Sometimes it takes a few hours for the new picture to show up.

        • Kokuanani says:

Boston, I don’t see “my account” at the top bar, just “home” and “about.”

  39. MadameBoudin says:

Regarding the Kodak event. I have to stick up for Ramona. If you watch it again you will see that she is just asking Jill questions and Jill is being somewhat civil. It’s not until Kelly walks over and mocks Ramona about being hurt that Jill didn’t stick around for Brooklyn Fashion Weekend, that the fireworks start. Kelly is the fuse that started that entire exchange. Once the Amazons (Kelly and LuAnn) are in the picture to back Jill up she starts her “You should leave,” BS. Jill is a coward when she’s alone.

    • dumberries says:

I got the same impression. I didn’t think Ramona should have been negative about Kodak at the event itself, but she did ask her question to Zarin in private. It wasn’t that big a deal until the dynamic duo showed up to stir the pot.

  40. bamabelle57 says:

Just ignore me… I’m trying to change my quilt stamp… I don’t know if it worked!

I’m watching re-runs from season~2… Um, Jill DID talk about Alex’ boys last year. She took Kelly with her to buy that 16,000 purse. Kelly brought her kids, one of them put a purse bag over her head and Kelly said something to her. Jill said, “You need to give The VanKampens some advice on raising their kids. The Jill explained what a great mother Kelly was and how horrible Alex’ boys are!

Jill is such a WITCH… she try to sit there in season~3 reunion and act like she’s NEVER said a thing about Alex’ boys… LIAR, LIAR… Pants On Fire!

About Kelly running in the traffic… is that legal? Here in Alabama the police would stop and tell you to GET OUT OF THE STREET! Is Kelly that desperate for attention?

Something else funny… I also watched the episode where Kelly said, and I quote…
“Everybody wants to date Max and Max wants to date me”! She also said… “When me and Max get together it’s a “flirt fest”… I thought she said a “fart fest”… LOL!

I bet Sonja laughed her head off when she heard Kelly talking about Max, especially since she was dating him the same time as Kelly… HA!

This year Kelly tried to back track and say Max wasn’t that nice. Well excuse me, Miss Kelly! You sure thought he was just sooooo nice before you found out about Sonja!

    • Katiecoo says:

I am watching a rerun too of the Moroccan fashion show. Wow, what a departure from this season’s fashion show. All the girls are sitting there complimenting Bethenny and cheering her on in her Moroccan garb, Luann, Jill, all of them. Jill even gives her a standing ovation.

Then this year…Jill all cutting every single person she knows down as they come down the runway. It’s just so sad and NOT a show I want to continue watching. The previous one was fun, the Brooklyn one was “rooned” with that shenanigans.

    • Katiecoo says:

And YES regarding Max. Did anyone else catch that little tidbit when Max stops by (invited by Kelly) the little Happy Hour with Luann, Kelly and Lu’s niece…and he has to cut out because he has a “late dinner”. Then at the reunion Sonja talks about having her “second late dinner” with her “date”. Was that on a Thursday? Max dumped Kelly to go have dinner with Sonja…sweet!

      • fairydusted says:

        Totally sweet indeed!

        • bamabelle57 says:

I thought about that, too. Also… wasn’t Kelly gross when Max said “I have glitter all over my face”… apparently it was coming from Kelly. Kelly repeated what Max said in that high-pitched tone of hers. Why does she do that?… It’s so stupid!

Hey Boston, I’m a little confused. I logged in and ended up in the Top Chef blog so I jumped back over to this one. If we just want to talk HWs, assuming we should stay her until Lynn posts another HW-specific blog, right? Guess I’m slow on the uptake today!

  61. NYCer says:

Ok, just catching up on twitter, and I notice that a new account (@RHONYSchwartz) has been created 18 hours ago to tweet nice things to Jill. And at the exact same time, Jill is on twitter and responds to that new account. What a coincidence!

Is this the week that bravo is making the decisions about who is coming back? Is that why Jill’s assistant @DarrenNYC is jumping into the fray? Is that why “someone” (I presume from Jill’s camp) was giving @NaughtyNiceRob bad info on Jill’s position being secure (“has another year on her contract”) and Alex and LuAnn being terminated?

I hate Jill Zarin. That phrase still works for me. She has zero self-awareness. (Can anyone tell I just re-watched the reunion?)

    • dancekrazy says:

Oh, this one got me: “Am I for the abuse of animals, no. Do I wear fur, yes.”

Anyone out there got this Kelly-ism in hand?

  65. dancekrazy says:

Just read a girl named Irene’s 3 blogs to you, Lynn. I have a reply to her: First of all, Irene, Lynn’s use of the “I hate Jill Zarin” website is just hyperbole. I don’t think that any of us, in the true sense of the word, HATE Jill Zarin—–most of us just cannot stomach her.
Even you, as a prior fan, have to agree that this past season showed the worst, and probably the truest, side of Jill. Everything she did was attention-seeking, drama inducing, and hateful, at times. Jill herself made “her bed” and is now sleeping in it. Everything she did on camera was to get “face-time”, she can cry on cue, and attempted to invoke pity in the viewers this season. Good heavens, she even subjected her poor pup, Ginger, to a camera crew when the baby was sick. Even Jill, on camera, said that she had to find a vet that made house calls due to Ginger’s nerves. So what does she do……she not only has her assistant, her friend with her dog over to her condo with the vet and her assistant, but she has the camera filming it. In all sincerity, did that indicate to you that Jill gave a darn about that poor dog?
Note her comment to Bobby at Bethenny’s engagement announcement: “If I don’t go over and say something, I will look like a piece of s__t!” That’s Jill in a nutshell, and out of her own mouth. All she seems to care about is how she looks to the viewers, the press, etc.
Yes, I do defend Lynn Hudson. Would it make you feel better if she entitled her website, “I strongly dislike Jill Zarin?” It even sounds ridiculous. And Lynn, although I don’t always agree with every word, most of the time writes what we all are feeling, but haven’t a forum to get it off our chests.
I disagree with you that Alex is boring…..I think that she is fabulous since she finally “shed her skin” and got everything off HER chest.
And, yes, you are correct…..everyone has a right to his/her opinion. I’m sure even Lynn posted and appreciated your comments to her website.
