  1. Semishark says:

Lynn, I never knew about that “ad” thing. So glad you shared! I’m never clicking on one of those again. Can you say “prostitution whores”? (Sorry, Kandi, but really?)

  2. WindyCityWondering says:

Thanks Lynn, love catching up with all the girls! Everyone needs to get out and enjoy this beautiful fall weekend – do something charitable and laugh with those you love!

    • American Idiot says:

Thanks Lynn – you put so much time and thought into this blog. You’re the best. Spening a weekend with all the family all around. My daughter’s home from college. Going shopping – get the credit card ready!

    • SavingGrace says:

      WCW —

It is beautiful in Chicago today in the 80s oh yeah!

Today I am catching up with friends and tomorrow a bunch of us are going to the Scarecrow Festival in St. Charles, Illinois.

      I can not wait.

  3. Scorpiosue1102 says:

I have to say that reading anything by Bethenny kinda makes me smile. So glad she’s in a happy place.

I don’t think Tamara got that the whole production thing with the Salami’s was kind of deconstructed because Bravo did not want anything to be missing from the final product.

Also, I have to say that I do like Cat. She can be rude at times and I do like her bluntness. She told the Salami’s what she thought of them. Good for her.

  4. Olivia says:

Have you ever seen as many irrelevant women spending their time “twittering” their every move, selling whatever they can, and clogging up cyberspace with the most inane offerings uttered by people over the age of 16?

If technology has been invented simply for this purpose than I would have to admit that we are truly in the era of “dumbing down”.

It amazes me that this coven of airheads actually believe their own worth and feel the need to exercise their thumbs with outpourings of total inanity.

    • error404 says:

      LOL Exactly!

I only got halfway down Lynn’s list before I gave up. If I wanted to hear drivel, I’d sit in a coffee shop for hours and eavesdrop.

It’s all “How to be famous for 15 minutes 101” and it’s starting to get real old real fast.

      BTW, when’s my turn?

      • SavingGrace says:

Ha! This reminds of my visit to Starbucks the other day. My boyfriend and I got our drinks and sat down on some comfy corner chairs to catch up.

I could not believe this guy in front of me was watching porn, full screen on his computer! Seriously? You can’t go home and watch that in private? I was shocked.

Since there were children with their moms in the store, I seriously wanted to go over there and accidently on purpose spill my pumpkin spice latte on him.

I nudged my boyfriend and glanced over to that twit. My boyfriend smiled and walked over to him and said that Starbucks was not the place for that.

That punk was not embarassed., he did not leave, and was not embarrassed! He just logged into something else. On our way out I spoke to the manager and pointed the perv to her.

I wish that guy would have been on twitter instead of some porn site — YUCK!

      • MickeyMouth says:

I only got half way thought the list too, sorry Lynn! lol

    • SavingGrace says:

I guess cuz I am in my 40s that the purpose of Twitter and Facebook seemed so superficial. Who cares if Ms. Thing is at Juliet tonite or Mr. Manzoette just farted — seriously, who tweets stuff like that?

This is why everyone wants to be a reality TV star. It is Vanity to the 10th degree. Yet…

I confess that I am (FINALLY) on twitter. I logged into it simply to tweet Kelly Bensimon what an awful person she appears to be to Bethenny when Bethenny was preggers.

Kelly actually tweeted me back but I soon realized she refuses to answer the questions anyone asks her. She also refuses to admit she the one that starts B.S. and she was the one bully Bethenny. Honestly, who does that to an an advanced-age pregant woman?

But twitter is a whole new world. There are twitter wars, instant updates on whatever you chose to follow and a lot of funny stuff.

I didn’t tweet anything when I first logged on. I cautiously tweeted Lynn a question and was so surprised when she tweeted me back. I also follow a few of the posters here if I can find their twitter names.

So I guess Facebook & Twitter does serve its purposes.

You can say that I tweeted a girl and I like it.

      • vilzvet says:

Unfortunately both Ramona and Bethenny are the guiltiest of always tweeting “How about you?” or “What are you guys up to?” as if they really care. It’s just a way to keep in the public eye, I find it hard to believe strangers tweet back to them, but that’s JMO.

        • Scorpiosue1102 says:

I have to defend Bethenny a bit here. If you go to her profile she does respond to things that her followers have posted to her. Of course some of it is a boost to her like when people say that have lost 50 lbs. by following her recipes/Skinny girl books and she gives a shout out them by praising their loss. Yes, it helps her yet I think she truly is happy that someone lost the weight.

      • Scorpiosue1102 says:

Kelly will not sway from what she thinks at all. I’ve gone round and round with her about Perez Hilton. She thinks Hilton is not a bully (she has even stated this) yet I have read how awful and essentially bullies Kristen Stewart that I decided to never read his site again. I have told Kelly to look up Kristen Stewart on his site yet she still will not be swayed. There is being right and there is just being dumb and unrelenting.

      • LynnNChicago says:

haha why would you be surprised? I try to answer all tweets, I’m averaging about 9 hours response time but I try! :)xo

        • quincyil says:

You need a personal assistant to pick out your purses and help you get your dress poofed.

        • SavingGrace says:

          Yes, you do.

I was surprised only because you are busy, self-employed, mom, wife, host a great blog AND you gotta get hundreds of tweets.

Thanks for introducing me to twitter. I had to get on after reading your reports on the RH tweets.

Damn, those girls really put the “twit” in twitter….

      • nathania says:

yep, that was all very harrowing. and not only that but saying ‘she just lost her father and she’s here on a cruise, who does that?’ over and over. To be honest it’s amazing to me that no one has jack-slapped this chic into the next dimension yet. To even BRING UP someone else’s grief after losing a parent, without their permission, but then to make a judgement about the appropriateness of it, in public, and not only that but on camera, is just beyond sick.

I am wondering, since she is this way now, if she was one of those unbearably stuck up model types when she was in her ‘heyday’ and married to Mr. B. I remember, this would have been back in the day of supermodels and Linda Evangelista saying “I don’t get out of bed for less than $10,0000”, I can’t remember if that rate was per hour or day, but that’s when KKB (KooKie B*tch in my book) would have been starting out too, so I wonder if she is delusional enough to think of herself as (or want to be remembered as) part of that set that was like Linda, the crazy cell phone throwing Naomi Campbell, Helena Christiansen, the one that married Axl Rose…(Stephanie Seymour)…I have to strain to remember their names but that was like ‘when models ruled the world’ or whatever, and I wonder since surely her hubby photographed them all and she was around that all the time if this is how she envisions herself as being part of that whole era, it would explain why she gave that weird interview to those reporters saying “I’m just like you. We would hang out” or whatever it was.

      • nathania says:

I guess I am an even bigger over 40 nerd because I thought “come to Juliet” was a Shakespeare reference when I saw it on here the other day.

    • nathania says:

I haven’t seen this since high school. Twitter is like where prom queens go to die. 🙂

    • quincyil says:

I really don’t care about fame. I see the Bravo stars in limos and flying first class. I don’t care about that either. I am happy. I went for a walk in the pasture with two young cats and we were all happy. Dina and the others don’t seem to be enjoying life much. I think I’ll just do what I am doing and enjoy the sunset.

      • TT in OC says:

Qunicy, I love your mentality. You are so right that fame (or even money sometimes) is not that big of a deal. Being happy is so much more important, and IMO, so is health. Wish I could be there with you to enjoy that sunset!

      • zoekayla says:

Quincy, I love the art you posted under the family pics…you are quite talented. I would love to see a painting of that pasture in all kinds of light (I’m a light fanatic).

        • quincyil says:

That one is now in a CT home on the top of a hill in Avon. I will paint another. I like painting what I see. I see beauty every where.

  5. LynnNChicago says:

Forgot to add this link, RealOldHousewife has posted her Atlanta recap, outstanding as always!

  6. Waxdiva says:

While searching for an article I read about a classmate of NeNe, I came across this about NeNe and being an exotic dancer…interesting and the comments are great:

  7. SavingGrace says:

Reality Jen brought up a really good point on twitter yesterday. Since RHONY are currently filming, isn’t it Faboosh that Jill Zarin was exiled to Australia? What storyline could she possibly serve being overseas by herself.

I hope this makes that yucky sucky Foghorn part-time next season…

  8. Melinda says:

Is it wrong for me to not like Ben Weiner? seriously……he is a kid…..my kids don’t watch these shows and they are 16 and 9……..and he is Issac Mizrahi’s cousin? well, that explains why he gets preferential treatment……..ugh…….

Kelly is just a straight up idiot……LOVE when Bethenny tweets……..Jill still makes me sick……

    • LynnNChicago says:

Agreed, should Ben Weiner be out playing baseball or football. Or he should be playing games with his friends. The shows pop with a parental warning saying TV14, this kid is 13, by Bravo’s own standards he shouldn’t be watching.

Where are his parents and their standards?

      • WindyCityWondering says:

        at the bank

      • Rabble Rouser says:

From what I have seen of the kid, he didn’t strike me as the football or baseball type….but certainly there is NOTHING entertaining about having a 13 year old boy on the show because he is a housewife’s fan. IMO- it feeds into the same sort of weird fascination with that baby in Indonesia who smokes 2 packs a day.

    • Savannah111 says:

No, I don’t think it’s wrong of you, I actually think it’s normal. I don’t get what these parents are thinking letting their children be a part of things they shouldn’t be a part of. First of all to have a 13 year old child that pays so much attention to these shows is crazy but to also let him take part and be a guest on Andy’s show is disturbing.

  9. Ellabean says:

Has anybody ever thought that the name, “Slade Smiley” sounds like a porn star name?

  10. AZ Girl says:

Reading all your posts about the fall weather makes me miss the change of seasons in the mid-west. It is cooling down here and the windows are open for most of the day. Still in the 90’s in the afternoons. Heading down to Tempe Town Lake for the Tour de Fat today. Should be fun. Have a great day everyone!!!!

  11. TrueLifeDiva says:

Vicki is still vacationing without her husband. What was that vow renewal all about, hmmm? And don’t gimme no BS about schedules clashing. The whole family came except Donn? Same ol’ Victory 😦
I too laugh my ass off every time I see the Geico piggy commercial. Every single time.
JuggsForJesus, please get that nose job. You and GateCrasherBarbie have the worst noses on reality TV. Your profiles are horrid. I think to myself, “Ichabod Crane (sp?) has a daintier nose. You don’t have to change the shape but at least make it smaller and less hawk like. More feminine to fit your face. Just my two cents 😉

    • Ellabean says:

I caught that too, TrueDiva. Donn was not mentioned again on another of Vicki’s magnificent “family” excursions? Something is not right there.

LOL , at Juggs for Jesus. As soon as I read above that she tweeted that she was shopping (my word) for a rhinoplasty, I thought, how is she paying for this? Aren’t Juggs and Taliban Jim in arrears on their mortgage as well ? Then I figured that she is probably getting it done gratis for a feature on an OC episode.

      • AZ Girl says:

I like Donn and Vicky treats him like dirt. But then again maybe Donn rather not be with little Miss “Whoo Hoo”.

        • TT in OC says:

On the other hand, if Donn is not man enough to stand up for himself, then who is to blame? My hubby always says if you do not try to take care of the problem, then you are part of the problem. Don’t get me wrong, I also think Donn seems like a great guy. But ….

          • Rabble Rouser says:

            I really like Donn too.

But I hope that maybe the reason Donn is not accompanying her on many of her vacations is that from what I remember- he is not self employed. He probably has much more limited vacation time than Vickie would.

    • dsc60 says:

I’ve gotta give that to Caroline… I too giggle when i see that little piggy on the Geico commercial. Most of Geico ads are simplistic, yet creative. I have to admit that I love the gecko too… especially the one where he’s on the table and his cell phone and wallet appear, confusing the heck out of the exec who he’s been hangin’ with lately.

  12. Need a Hobby says:

    “JuggsForJesus” Bwahahahaa!

  13. BambiBaby22 says:

When I read Kelly saying she is giving up paper products for a month, I skipped over all the comments to write:

Yuck, won’t she have to wash her underwear after everytime she uses the bathroom? How will that extra water be good for the environment?

Maybe she will use a “bid-det”, ala Tre.

    • quincyil says:

She can shower immediately…No wait…waste of water… Never mind.

    • My thoughts exactly. Guess she got a bunch of free corn cobs or something.

      • lillybee says:

Actually there are web sites that sell what is known as family cloths. They are squares of flannel that one’s uses and then washes.

        • error404 says:

because fecal matter is exactly what you want clinging to the sides of your washer drum before when you throw your facecloths int here for a wash!

older folks like myself may remember that all of this “waste” was created for health reasons. Dixi cups for example may be public enemy #1 now, but the number of colds we kids passed between ourselves dropped drastically once mom installed a dispenser.

  14. TLM says:

A random rant: Why do the Housewives get the usage of “me” and “I” backwards so consistently??? It is driving me insane. This cuts across all the franchises. I can’t remember when I heard someone use them correctly.

For anyone watching the Kardashians, I am pondering the logic of Kourtney being so embarassed about needing to buy lubricant that she won’t go into a drugstore to buy it and arguing with her nitwit boyfriend/baby daddy Scott Disick about how to get it (ever hear of Drugstore.com, people??), yet she has all these conversations on a nationally aired program that will run about a million times. One cashier in a random drugstore vs. the entire viewing public of the E! Channel knowing… hmm, I can see why you went with the E! Channel, Kourt. Well, logic was never the Kardashians’ strong point. Of course, the other logical conclusion is that the entire “dilemma” was made up to make a more interesting show, and that E! and the Kardashians must think the public is even dumber than they are not to realize this.

Finally, I can’t stand the whiny way Kim and Kourtney both speak. Where the hell did they pick that up? Neither Khloe nor the parents or other two daughters speak that way. Kourtney’s whining is so irritating that even when I can’t stand Scott, which is most of the time, I still can’t figure out how he puts up with her or what he finds sexy about the constant whining.

    • Amber...Real Wife says:

Scott while probably annoyed at the whiner in her, is definitely in love with the benefits she brings to the table. She totally supports him, paying his bills, housing and food. He fux up and she forgives him. I don’t think of her as a victim, she’s more like a volunteer. When I saw the way she attacked and them manipulated her family in order to “be” with Scott, I knew the bitch will do anything to remain with him. She even wants to have another child from her unemployed, violent boyfriend. She’ll get what she deserves. She’s a martyr.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

All I can say if the whole thing was real the time he tried to stuff money down the waiters throat then they were in Vegas- he should be in jail. That was one of the most abusive and dehumanizing things I have ever seen and anyone who could stay with a person who does something that that is either beyond pathetic or just as disgusting.

      • babykakes says:

the Kardashians are all a taco or 2 short of a combination plate.
        and that Bruce…what a p***y!

    • quincyil says:

I think they flunked English grammar.

  15. Ellabean says:

Forgive me, but just a bit confused…

quincyil – are you also Quincyill ?

  16. Adgirl says:

Phaedra & Apollo (am I watching a soap opera set in ancient Greece?).

So, SHE wants to name HER baby something plain like Billy, Tom or Mary?

What? Why not Zeus, Prometheus or Athena?

    • TLM says:

That is hilarious… I don’t know why it didn’t dawn on me about Apollo. I was thinking more of the opponent in the original Rocky

Yes, I think the baby should be Zeus.

  17. Wall St Lady says:

    How does Jugs for Jesus
    Get a mamogram ?
It must hurt like hell to

smooshie the chi chi’s like pancake’s.

  18. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Wall st. Lady, I hope you wrote down my birthday since you are compiling a list and all ;-). Since I’m your favorite blogger I expect you to fly out to San Diego and serenade me in person 😀

  19. TrueLifeDiva says:

PS. JugsforJesus is in her early 30’s. They don’t do mammograms until 40 unless there is a family history. I got my first one this year at 40 🙂

Have u herd of the Considine
Family ? There r a bunch of brothers. Probably too old for u to know ,50-60. They all went to Harvard & did well, 11 children. They wanted a Kennedy like dynasty.

  23. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Wall st. Lady, never heard of them. Should I google them? Inquiring minds want to know…

  24. Wall St Lady says:

    Its on the list.
I hope it wasn’t that the last time I added I forgot to hit save.

  28. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Wall st. Lady, googled Considine family. Found a Dr. in Coronado, which is part of San Diego county. Coronado is a small island consisting of active/retired military and some rich folks. Also home of The Hotel Del Coronado, famous landmark and movie locale.
Are you staying with the Considines when you visit me in june? 😉

  29. Noelle says:

    Hello my Sweet WSL,
This was my first outing in a long time and I’m so beyond thrilled!!
Saw the pic of you and WSM…What a handsome couple!
    You’re smokin’ hot and he’s a real looker! 😀

    @Noelle, hey babe 😉
Today was nice in my neck of the woods as well. If the weather is nice tomorrow I will walk 6 miles to the farmers market and get some fresh air with my produce.

    • boston02127 says:

I’m ready to put on a down jacket & mittens. It’s ch-ch-chilly here.

    • Noelle says:

Where is “your neck of the woods?” I wish you lived in my neck of the woods because I feel so good that I’d take that walk with you and I LOVE going to the farmers market.

  32. Wall St Lady says:

I found Terry who is in realestate. I dated his bro Steve. We had a fun summer in NYC. It wasn’t love. I introduced him to his 1st wife. I have always been a yenta. I have 4 successful marriages to my credit. The best one was a fellow from Atlanta who ran for Gov. 2xs & the Senate. He lost each time. I got him to fly into NYC. It took 4 calls to get him here cuz he is a workaholic. On their 3rd date he proposed. They r still madly in love.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

  35. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Boston02127, it was in the low 80’s here in S.Cali :-). It was cold and rainy all week but the sun poked thru for the weekend.

@Noelle, I live in San Diego, Ca.where I leave the top down on my Cabrio 10 months out of 12.

    • Noelle says:

      I’m so jealous! Show-off!! 😉
My brother lived in San Diego for ten years, I’ve visited three times and loved it.
      Beautiful city!

  41. boston02127 says:

I saw this in a magazine and tried it. Cut an orange in half. Clean out the insides with a spoon. On the top part of the orange cut out a small hole. Put a tea candle inside and put the orange back together. It smells sooooo good.

    • Noelle says:

      You’re a sweet-pea boston! xo

    • Kansas Girl says:

Oh, that sounds wonderful. The smell of hot orange peel always takes me back to my mother’s Christmas orange rolls. This is something I’m definitely going to try!

  42. Adgirl says:

OT. I’m going to shop around for some kind of facial rejuventaion (skin tightening). I’ve visited about 100 websites and now I’m bewidlered by the various types. It seems that each doctor just uses one type of laser. So do I need to decide which type I think I want then locate an office or clinic that uses it?

    So confusing.

    • boston02127 says:

Adgirl–OneMoreinBoston is in that business. She’d probably know.

    • lillybee says:

Why not ask Ramona? She is really into non surgical procedures and I bet she knows the best one.

    • quincyil says:

I had a laser for those brown spots, but they started me on Retinol a couple of weeks ago and I think I see a change. The over the counters help with moisturizing, but I don’t think they really rejuvinated. I think you can slow it down by being careful, but it will age.

    • TLM says:

You could call Dr. Sharon Giese’s office in NYC and ask if they have a colleague in your area they recommend. (That was Ramona’s doctor). http://www.drsharongiese.com/

I agree, it’s irritating that each office just uses one laser for facial rejuvenation. Generally these offices rent the machines, because they are prohibitively expensive to buy. You would think this would allow them to have more than one, but I’ve found the same thing, that most don’t. In certain cases, offices only use the lasers on certain days, because they don’t even have the machine in the office all the time. This also gives offices the flexibility to swap the machines for a new one once a new laser comes out that they want, but it also means there is less flexibility in scheduling your appointment.

I would think the best thing to do would be to narrow down which laser is right for you (CO2, Erbium, Fraxel, IPL (not really a laser, but is used in facial rejuvenation)), and then find the office that has it and find qualified people you are comfortable with. That’s kind of tough since whatever office you talk to will probably try to sell you on their laser.

In the case of the office I went to, they said they are charged for the machine by the number of pulses they use. That sounds kind of crazy to me rather than a monthly rental fee, but that’s what they told me.

You probably already saw this site, but I thought this article was pretty good. http://www.yourplasticsurgeryguide.com/laser-skin-procedures/laser-skin-resurfacing.htm

  43. Adgirl says:

Stacie Turner Interview in Washington Post
Here are excerpts of her interview.
FYI Her adoptive parents passed away many years ago.
    On contacting her birth father:
“I’m planning to go to Nigeria within the next two to three months to meet my entire family which includes 10 siblings. My biological mother does not know I found him. As you can imagine it is such a wonderful thing and I can’t wait to be united with them. ”
“When I first spoke to my birth father he was overjoyed, crying and so thankful that I found him and was completely open and desiring to have a relationship and welcome me to the family. My real parents — the ones that raised me — are both deceased. My mother died when I was 13 and my father died 10 years ago. I would not have pursued the search if they were alive.”
“As of now I don’t plan to have a relationship with my half brother because my birth mother wants to keep me and our story a secret. I am going to respect her wishes. ”

    I like her alot.

    • emily says:

I agree, after that interview I liked her more. She came off really well! I started the season off liking her the most, then after gay marriage issues and all that with the half brother on facebook, not so much.
Good to know that she can change her views and still stay strong in her faith.

Interesting, that when asked if she would do a Season 2 if Salahi’s were still part of cast, she says YES, because they’ve distanced themselves and probably wouldn’t have to film with them. Smart lady! Lynda (and Mary I believe) say NO way to 2nd season if Salahi’s stay.

  44. Michele says:

WSL- I am mainly a lurker, but my birthday is coming up– Oct. 21!

  45. Adgirl says:

OT (again) I had a surreal experience today.
It’s Fleet Week in San Francisco and the highlight of course are the Blue Angels. This afternoon I was in the Opera House watching a performance of “Madame Butterfly” and several times the entire audience could hear the jets screaming right outside.

    • Noelle says:

      That would make me angry.

      • Adgirl says:

Actually we all thought it was a little funny. Every year the Angels take over the Bay Area for a few days. You can see or hear them nearly everywhere while they practice, so I think overall we’re happy to have them.
I don’t know if the singers and musicians were aware because they were obviously concentrating.

  46. Wall St Lady says:

Has anybody seen dumb berrys ?

  47. TrueLifeDiva says:

I’ve lived her for 29yrs. I forget how great my city is until I get visitors from out of town. I had a cousin visit from Michigan. I took her to La Jolla Coves and she looked at beach in awe. “This is the first time I’ve seen the pacific ocean.” I rarely go to the beach because parking is bad and it often stinks at some beaches. But my cousins look of amazement reminded me some people only dream about what is 15 min from my front door.
The cost of living is horrendous though ;-). We pay for this great weather.

    • Noelle says:

I understand your cousins awe, I’ve only visited your city, but from what I’ve been shown it’s beautiful.
My brother has since relocated to Vail, CO.
      I’ve visited….off season. 😉

  48. Noelle says:

    Where is everyone?

  49. Michele says:

I am watching the South Pacific remake with Glenn Close. Kind of odd– she seems too old to be Nellie.

    • Adgirl says:

That’s an oldie. For some reason I don’t know if it’s aged that well. Who is Lt Cable in your version?
I was thinking about that movie today – there are aspects of the Bali Hai young sexpot landing an American in Madame Butterfly.

  50. Wall St Lady says:

    Hi Noelle
I was going back to look at the birthdays mentioned to get my list more complete.

So what do u think of the Salimis ?

  51. TrueLifeDiva says:

I’m still here. Watching “Cheaters” :-). Maybe @Wall st. Lady will hook me up with my future husband. She’s the real “Millionaire Matchmaker”.

  52. Wall St Lady says:

Michele Will u b around on ur
    B day ?

  53. TrueLifeDiva says:

Why did your brother move? We have skiing in the mountains too. In SD you can surf in the am and ski in the afternoon of the same day ;-). And we have great outlet shopping.

    • Noelle says:

My brother moved for $$, he’s a nutritionist and there was a job offer in Co he couldn’t refuse. The offer actually doubled his income of that in San Diego and paid his rent for four years to boot. There’s strings, of course, but only for a couple months of the year.
He’s very happy and I’m happy for him!

  54. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Noelle, Shush your big mouth! My future millionaire husband doesn’t need to know about my cyber triangle. As far as he needs to know, you are my “sorority sisters” 😉
    Sheesh, what a blabbermouth!

  55. Wall St Lady says:

My matches r not heifer calls. Patty only knows the customer slightly. She doesn’t get to know anything about the bait.

All my matches were w/2 people I knew well. Or I knew them for a few months but knew their family.

U have to have a match in goals,
    Spiritual conviction & sexual attraction.

The reason Patty fails is that she only goes for the attraction part. We all know men think w/their “little head” initially but that wears thin w/out the other 2.
Patty is a Madame not a matchmaker.

    • quincyil says:

Patti is low class. She may have money, but she speaks English poorly and she has no sense of the appropriate.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

I don’t think she has money, I think she is all show and and no go.
Her website is “budget” at best- and it makes it looks like there are stock piles of ladies to choose from but really most of them have 4-5 pictures up….and really ‘normal’ folks typically don’t carry around head shots so really who are these ladies they represent?

Also I noticed the blond chick who was the CEO of match making is no longer on the site, she must have quit or got canned…and now Destin and his baby momma are the only two employed listed for matchmaking services.

        • emily says:

Can’t stand the show, or Patti. Strangely, that is one of the Bravo shows my boyfriend will gladly watch. I don’t get it.
Anyone else have a man in their life that likes Patti Stanker’s show?

ps- Glad that blonde chick CEO is gone (if she is). I didn’t like her either. She could win points by playing “good cop” to Patti’s nasty behavior but instead she tries to be patti.

  56. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Wall st. Lady, okay… I’ll give you a year to get to know me. Then I expect you to hook a sistah up 😉

  57. TrueLifeDiva says:

Does anybody else here visit Icanhascheezburger.com? I subscribe to the daily RSS feed and those cute kittehs always make smile 😀

  58. Wall St Lady says:

I found the love of my life at 39 at a charity coctail party.

    Have u been married b4 ?

Why do u think u haven’t found the right person ?

  59. lillybee says:

I will repost what i posted upthread. If Kelly is really going paperless re bathroom, there are many on line sites that sell what they call “family cloths” for that purpose.
They are squares of flannel that are washable. I think the idea is gross but greenies and fundies are into them.

WSL you came close with my birthday. It is Jan 16, a date that I am stuck sharing with Dr. Laura.

    • nathania says:

then you get into water usage…and I would think you would want bleach in that case. this is one of the things that confuses me alot, waste paper or waste water?

Kelly could probably get a bidet.

i can’t believe i’m discussing her bathroom habits. Anyone here who used cloth diapers with their kids in pre-disposable days, would you do it again?

      • quincyil says:

I tried to, but it was too hard.

      • Diana says:

I used cloth diapers when I was a nanny back in the 80’s. I only used disposables when were were going out for the day. The kids hated the cloth diapers and it motivated them to toilet train much faster.

  60. TrueLifeDiva says:

    @Wall st. Lady
Never been married, engaged twice. Never walked down the aisle because my gut would tell me not to settle for a cheater. My mom never remarried and still cries 35 yrs later over not having a husband, 4 kids, and a white picket fence. My dad is on wife #6 so I am leery of the extra charming type or military. In SD we have several military bases. I have seen all kinds of foolishness with military guys. I’ve never wanted to be a trophy wife or breeder and that’s what men see in me. I’ve refused to settle for a man who thinks divorce is an option and women are desperate to be be married. When and if I do marry, I want to literally skip down the aisle to my life partner 🙂

    • quincyil says:

      You deserve that too.

There are cheaters in every walk of life, but there are good men too. I’d join group activities and make friends with married women. They know who the good catches are. I met my husband on a blind date. I know so many women who found their husbands this way.

  61. TrueLifeDiva says:

For some reason you seem determined to throw salt in my game tonight. Stop it, I’m working an angle here 😉

  62. Noelle says:

    That’s rude.
    I didn’t.

  63. TrueLifeDiva says:

The smiley face means “jokey jokes” okay? When I’m serious I’ll use a pink quilt avatar and caps lock. 🙂

  64. Wall St Lady says:

    Lillybee , I googled it.

  65. TrueLifeDiva says:

You share your name with a chain of Philipino fast food restaurants. Mmmmm, pancit! 😀

  66. TrueLifeDiva says:

Oops! My bad, it’s Jollibee not lillybee. 🙂

  67. TrueLifeDiva says:

@Noelle, I’m craving pancit and chicken adobo now. Have you ever had these dishes? Shoot, I wish it were daytime so I could go to an Asian market and buy the ingredients.

  68. Wall St Lady says:

    My mother married 4x.
WSM doesn’t see divorce as an option. But he was married to his HS sweetheart the day b4 his 20th B Day.
He divorced at 26 & was a bachelor for 20years.
He was much better at relationships & when bumps occurred. He was & still is much better than me in resolving differences. I have a loud temper at home. We r still wildly passionate after 18 years. That’s the glue & we r blessed to have it. I think it is because we admire each other so & he definitely thinks he got the “golden ring”(blush blush)
I know U will have the love of ur life but its Ok to have a man think u r a trophy in my opinion as long as u have similar goals & spiritual beliefs. I prayed for WSM all my life.
As a small child I would hear arguing from my their room as I had my head on my pillow. I would ask God to bless the little boy that would b my husband and I prayed that his parents weren’t fussing. It was a long wait !
I will pray for u tonite pretty, sweet, smart lady !
    U will never B a HoWife !

  69. Wall St Lady says:

I wish Quincy was around to tell us her views on a successful marriage ;she has one too.
But I don’t think they ride the tractor or shovel manure together. Her husband is out saving lives.

    • quincyil says:

LOL… He stands next to the refrigerator and asks me if we have any food. I bring him coffee in the morning in bed and tea in the even when he listens to opera with the sunset.

We have fought. I have a temper. He is stubborn. We both believe in education, honesty and working hard.

If you look for a husband in a bar, you will find a guy who goes to bars. If you look in a Church, you will find a Church goer. So think about what you want to do for the rest of your life and look in the places you want to go to.

  70. TrueLifeDiva says:

And lumpia too? You might bump OMiB out of her #1 spot if you got those kind of skills!

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

All right now! I ‘ve sat quietly by while you had your little flirty fun- I think it’s time to pull back and remember who’s woman you are.
      Thank you!

Wine tours of a defunk winery. I wonder how much you charge to see a house in need of paint and vines that haven’t produced in several years. I just don’t believe that the Salahis have a source of income. They are compping their lives and when their Bravo stint ends, I hope people wise up and stop giving them fantastic dinners and hotel rooms.

Paul Warton is right. Who is going to hire Michaela. Tareq doesn’t look like a grape picker to me. The aren’t going to be lobbyists in Virginia or DC.

I think they should call Lynn Curtin and see how the cuffs are selling.

  80. LynnNChicago says:

NeNe and Andy Cohen taped after WWHL was over, this is the “extra” footage. Andy actually talks about 2/3 of the time, barely letting his guest speak. Nice job Cohen.

What I did learn watching this clip, however, is that I think maybe NeNe may be more likable this season, she could turn out to be a favorite rather than the villian. Watch What happens… lol

    • quincyil says:

Nene is leaving Gregg. She will be foot loose and fancy free. She’s fun according to Kim Z.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

Wow- you all weren’t kidding when you said she was falling out of the dress she was wearing.

I know that some of you think she has a banging body (and while I can appreciate curvy woman like Bettie Page) I think Nene is a bit more flab than fab. I think there has to be some sort of disconnect with a woman of her stature and age wearing cloths that are clearly meant for a petite (but busty) 20 year old.

If NeNe comes out a favorite, I think it’s more a statement about how low the other woman have fallen. I do not like her- although I find her entertaining.

  81. quincyil says:

This article says that Tareq was given a blow when a judge in his Oasis bankruptsy failed to dismiss the case as Tareq requested. Do we believe that Tariq was truthful in his filing of bankruptcy. I think he and Teresa need to talk.

The polo club seems to be drained of funds also. I wonder how many Sparkles are listed.

In my opinion, some people can’t help lying and stealing. It’s their nature.

    • quincyil says:

bankuptcy..I give up… I’m going to shovel manure and stop correctly my own errors… This morning I was not thinking…. cobwebs in the frontal lobe..

BTW… saw a fascinating discussion about OCD and the frontal lobe. I will review some more material and write about Jeff Lewis and repeating Tues morning for Lynn if she wants it.

  82. quincyil says:

80% of 7,000 dollars for the sari went to charity. The Salahis got $560.00 Perhaps, that is what they paid for it.

    • quincyil says:

      read that wrong… 20% of 7,000 is 1400…
      charity 5600 dollars…

      • quincyil says:

Have you noticed that everything is a half truth with the Salahis? They gave their own name at the entrance to the White House so they were invited even though they weren’t on the list, chose not to sit down at tables where they had no name places, and did not have an invitation that they looked for in the trunk of the limo. No explanation of what happened to the invitation btw.

The dress was donated to charity..but they got 1400 bucks for it. No mention of the money they got.

It would be so frustrating to deal with those people.

Cat is also blaming them for her divorce in a couple of articles. If you embarass a shy husband on national tv because he didn’t refill your always empty wine glass or sharpen your bloody knives, what do you expect from him?

        • quincyil says:

I have never had a guest demand that their wine glass be filled in my life. Cat does that loudly all of the time. Is she a drunk? I bet there are issues there.

          • nathania says:

that struck me as sooooooooo odd, too. Were I Stacie I would have pointed at the wine and said ‘help yourself’. She’s a strange bird, Cat.

        • Kansas Girl says:

I’ve been noticing that the Salahis speak in partial sentences. You don’t notice in listening, but it is more obvious in transcripts. And what I see is that they say the truth and then immediately say something that is supposed to negate it. Example: we crashed the White House, you can’t believe everything. Look at transcripts or written quotes. It’s interesting. Is this a “tell” that indicates they are lying? I don’t know enough about those theories to say.

        • nathania says:

That whole scene was beyond bizarre. I think Cat is the dominant type with men. Some men like it. Charles is like, ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’. He’s an established, respected photographer and she treated him like crap right on television. I honestly don’t think the Salahis or the the White House debacle had anything to do with their marriage ending. I think their marriage ended because they were not a good fit. Cat is the absolute center of her own universe, and she can’t tolerate someone strong enough to not be thrown off course by her gravitational pull. She needs to find her own Tareq, lol.

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

Cat has a thing about her wine glass being filled period. She was rude and demanding about it to the busboy at Lolly’s resturant, she was rude and demanding about it at Stacie’s aunts house, she is rude and demanding to her husband about it.

Stacie Turner Talks About Finding Her Nigerian Father
Part of the storyline for Stacie Turner of the Real Housewives of DC was about finding her birth father. She’d previously found her birth mother, who refused to divulge the identity of her father. Through the Nigerian Embassy, she was able to locate her father.
I’m planning to go to Nigeria within the next two to three months to meet my entire family which includes 10 siblings. My biological mother does not know I found him. As you can imagine it is such a wonderful thing and I can’t wait to be united with them. When I first spoke to my birth father he was overjoyed, crying and so thankful that I found him and was completely open and desiring to have a relationship and welcome me to the family. My real parents — the ones that raised me — are both deceased. My mother died when I was 13 and my father died 10 years ago. I would not have pursued the search if they were alive.

Stacie tried to contact her half-brother, her mother’s son, through Facebook, but he did not answer.
As of now I don’t plan to have a relationship with my half brother because my birth mother wants to keep me and our story a secret. I am going to respect her wishes.

Wow, 10 siblings! Thanks for bringing that over…good luck to Stacie, according to the timeline she is going over there soon.

      • quincyil says:

That’s cool. I wonder if she is the oldest. If not, Dad fooled around on step mom.

        • Kansas Girl says:

I had a student from Niger (I work with international students) who said it is common in Africa for a man to have a wife in the bush or the local small town and another wife or two in the city. He said the wives pretend not to know for the kids’ sake, but the kids also know. Finances are stretched thin and everyone but the father suffers. He told me many times he planned to be a better man than his father and only marry one woman.

          • quincyil says:

President Obama has a number of siblings from his dad.

          • LynnNChicago says:

I’m a bit disappointed in Stacie’s statement that she is now going to honor her mother’s wishes. She didn’t feel that way when she was sending Facebook messages to her half-brother.

Now that she has found her father, she will leave her half-brother alone? I understand her wanting to find this man, but she already went against her mother’s wishes, didn’t she?

            • Olivia says:

I think she was more interested in establishing a connection with her African roots than having a relationship with her white mother, IMHO. This was evident when she was eager to contact a half brother who knew nothing of their mother’s past which certainly may have led to her mother’s alienation had it come out the way she had hoped via Facebook.

It seemed that the connection to her birth father was more important than sustaining a tenuous relationship with her mother from the beginning.

              • quincyil says:

My family members discuss Africa even though I don’t think anyone has a connection any more. It is important to them.

              • nathania says:

I think the beginning was when Stacie realized she was a source of shame for her mother. Up to that point she probably had high hopes. She apparently got a very positive response from her father. Not necessarily in response to this specific post but I can’t understand why some people seem mystified that African roots might be important and valued to someone with African ancestry, whether a descendant of slaves or not. We are talking about hundreds of years of bloody, disgraceful history here. It’s about knowing that generation after generation of one’s family suffered horribly, and had very little choice in their lives. Knowing their lives consisted of the worst kind of treatment and exploitation, and wanting to reach beyond that to a time when those ancestors were people who had choices, who had a measure of freedom about their lives. Doing so because if given a choice, it is what their dead ancestors would have done themselves. Wanting to be acquainted with the place that they called ‘home’, before they lost all free will and control over their lives.

That is odd. If Jill is reading this site, this girl will follow Jill today. We should watch for the change. LOL.

      • LynnNChicago says:

Jill has been known in the past to recruit her fans to do her dirty work. (for one, harassing me on Twitter)

This girl created a video (I haven’t seen it) all about Jill, who would do that without prompting from somewhere? Apparently this girl is just 17 years old, and hmm met Jill in Australia, if this is a true person it is sad that a young girl has nothing better to do. She should be enjoying friends high school and activities, not worshiping some woman from US television.

This is the 3nd young impressionable girl who has gone WAY overboard going to bat for Jill Zarin. It is either Jill’s PR team (or Jill herself) or she’s pretty good at convincing her overzealous fans to do these over the top things for her.

Why would this girl suddenly do this? Why would she join Twitter and start attacking me? She didn’t know I existed before Jill Zarin stepped on Australian soil.

        • quincyil says:

That is definately a child’s production. It’s all photos from the show that I’ve seen on the net. Kids think shallowly. Jill exhibits high school behavior of team worship and team leaders so this girl connects with Jill.

The girls is 17 and she probably is immature in her thinking. She’s no problem really. She’s tech savy and young.

        • WindyCityWondering says:

IMO – Jill has never stopped harassing those who do not think she is wonderful even though she has gotten some major slapdowns. It wouldn’t surprise me if this girl is somehow connected to her nephew. Jill can say she never holds a grudge but keeping one going is a different matter!

        • icantstandthetoxicity says:

  88. OneMoreInBoston says:

    This is to @adgirl-

hi- Saw your post regarding Skin Rejuvenation up thread. I oversee 4 different Medspa clinics, and I have a flelging MedSpa consulting business. My clients all have different lasers as well.

Typically when someone comes in to me for a consultation, instead of discussing the pros and cons of each laser, I think it makes more sense to instead determine what you’re trying to accomplish.

While it is true that many offices only have 1 laser, one laser can have multiple HEADS. Those different heads operate on different platforms which deliver the pulses.
My flagship clinic has 4 different lasers but only because of the patient volume. When I started it I had only 1 that had 7 different heads that does everything from laser hair removal to acne clearing. It has fraxel capabilities as well as IPL.

The other consideration for what type of laser is not what color your skin is, but what your ethnic heritage is.

My advice to you is to visit 3 different places, get quotes from all 3 and ask as many questions as you can.
    Questions to Ask
Here is a list of questions you may ask prior to receiving treatment:

    * “Do you own your own lasers?”
    * “What’s your specialty?”
    * “Are you a board-certified physician?”
    * “Is there a board-certified physician anywhere on the premises?”
    * “Where did you get your training for Skin rejuvenation?”
    * “How many different lasers do you own?”
    * “Is your laser good for people with my skin type?”
    * “Do you have any references?”
    * “How much does it cost?”
    # Who will manage any complications is they should happen to arise?
    # Does the technician do a full and in depth consultation with you to ensure that you understand the pros and cons of treatment, the risks and benefits?
    # Do they take photographs to help monitor improvement?

Personally I prefer an IPL photo rejuvenation as it is a noninvasive, safe method to improve the look and feel of the skin without undergoing the pain and downtime associated with deep laser resurfacing (CO2 or Erbium Laser Resurfacing).

Deep laser resurfacing removes the entire epidermis leaving the skin vulnerable to infection and requires 3-4 weeks of patient downtime and an even longer time to complete healing.

What state are you in? The licensure is different from state to state and will have some affect on pricing.

    • Adgirl says:

@ OneMoreInBoston – Thank you so much! I am in the San Francisco Bay Area (which is geo huge).
The options I seem to have in my region are straight out Cosmetic docs, Dermatologists or clinics (American Laser has several clinics nearby). It’s tough to get a handle on who has good results.
I am fair skinned with brown hair, however my mother is a redhead so I would think underneath it all I am redheaded too so probably my skin might be on the sensitive side.
I am mostly concerned with lines around my eyes and tightening around the mouth. I do have some minor color issues which don’t concern me as much as the lines (rosacea when I moved to So Cal but nothing recently).
I am returning to media sales and I compete against former Yahoo and Google employees for positions.
I want to look fresh as possible. I want to keep the total cost around $3500. Docs here are very, very expensive.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

ALC clinics are in a lot of trouble financially in CA. You could probably get it less there, but they have a patented protocol that the laser settings are actually less than the manufacturere’s protocol to avoid liability.

they would be OK for the IPL for rocasea, but they are such a controversial company I would steer clear.

I used to live in San Rafael, so I am familar with the area-You will probably be going in once every 4 weeks so it may be worth while to go into the city where there will be more competition so better prices.

$3500 seems quite high, particularly in this economy- you can get for 1/2 that.

Again, what your skin LOOKS like is not as relevent as your ETHNIC heritage.

The laser is designed to be attracted to pigment. Your ethnic heritage determines the amount of Melanocytes in your skin. Your skin tone/color is dictated by those Melanocytes.

I have had patients that had 1 grandparent of African American descent but are as light as I am. (Irish/Norwegian/German-very fair skin) If they were to be treated on the same settings as I am than they would have a burn.

I have seen very adverse reactions from dermatologists. IMHO they are over confident and usually have had little to no laser training.

Go for 3-4 consults with plasti surgeons-maybe also ALC to get a perspective on pricing- but they are super high pressure sales just FYI.

Also the area in the orbital rim (above the bone area) and under the eye is expressly forbidden by the FDA to use laser on- it’s just too close to the eye area. A good plastic surgeon can recommend other treatments that will get your desired results that may not be laser.

        • vilzvet says:

Saw everything you describe and more at that skin care expo I went to a couple of weeks ago in NYC. Mega companies from all over the world showing their stuff. It was really for trade peeps but it was good for my daughter to go as a fledgling skin care student.

        • Adgirl says:

@ Onemore – thank you again! Wow- great info.
I think it sounds best to see 3 consults w real plastic surgeons and bite the bullet with one of them instead of fooling around with dermatologists and laser clinics.
You have been extremely helpful. It’s not the kind of procedure I want to make a big mistake in.
          FYI- I am in Berkeley.

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

The laser clinics are not necessarily bad-I oversee 4! ;-), but ALC is an odd company.
Might make sense to check them out to give you a bargaining chip in negotiations over price.

All it really means, to be perfectly honest, is that they have ongoing medical education. Not completely necessary but for me, with no medical background, it’s a nice selling point for my medspas. Sort of like having CFP after your name. Not necessary to trade, but nice to have because makes clients more comfortable to invest with you.

Jonathan Cheban Denies Ashley Holmes Rumor:
Of course he did. Since his show’s finale is tomorrow, he must go to the Kelly Bensimon school of publicity. Looks like poor Ashley got used in the worst way.
Jonathan Cheban, the man everybody loves to hate on E!’s reality show ‘The Spin Crowd,’ knows that any press is good press. He made headlines earlier this week after he was photographed with 19-year-old Ashley Holmes of ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey.’ However, Cheban is shooting down rumors that the pair are dating.
The day after they hooked up Ashley tweeted that she loved him. Then she deleted it about six hours later. Days later she tweeted him again to meet her and he tweeted back that he was tired. Now this above article comes out. Friday night she tweeted to him again and he didn’t answer her. That’s what you get for being a dirty douchebag Trashley~

    • Zipit Zarin says:

      Q. The shows are produced by a variety of companies. How do you keep the Bravo brand intact?

      A. What’s common is that our production team at Bravo — Shari Levine, Christian Barcellos and I — is involved in all of the “Housewives” series. The show has a format that we developed with Evolution Media that is stylistically very clear. But the way the shows are structured, there’s an editorial and a storytelling sense that you can’t necessarily put in a storybook. We’re trying to let the audience in on the fun of the story, so
Just as with your real friends, your opinions of the women change as the season goes along. But I think you find at the end of the season everyone comes out on top.

      Q. You don’t stage scenarios?

      A. We really don’t. We encourage them to get together, but we really don’t ever know what’s going to happen once production starts. We just ask them what they have in production — if they have a party for someone, or are doing this or doing that — and of course we follow any major stories in their lives. But the tension among the women is really the work of our casting people. We don’t have to inspire them to speak up and act out. This isn’t “The Real Housewives of Wallflower County.”

There is a lot of info in these two paragraphs. Thanx boston!
“sometimes there’s an editorial wink.” No! Really? 😉

    • nathania says:

OMG, that has to be the most ironic first line I have ever read in my life. His comment about the Salahis comes off as dishonest, ‘we didn’t plan that, necessarily.’ Necessarily? Hmmm…

I totally get why these shows are getting so screwed up now. He references Jackie Collins in regards to the Beverly Hills franchise and says he wants women to ‘aspire’ to be like that. Like what? A de facto prostitute without an ounce of authenticity about her clinging desperately to her youth because she knows her husband’s affection for her is only skin deep, and that desperation, her one human emotion, is motivated soley by economic concerns? What on earth? It slays me that Andy Cohen continually references his castes (in the hierarchial sense) of bimbos as “strong”. He doesn’t know a damn thing about what makes a woman strong, what female strength is. What he thinks is strong is weakness, is desperation, is emptiness and selling out. No wonder he keeps missing the mark. Strength is resignation, it’s quiet consistency and devotion to your children, to your family, to doing the right thing. It’s walking away from lunatics like Teresa Giudice because you have a child to feed and can’t afford to spend a night in jail. I remember my boss telling me once about our employer, the owner of our business, abusing her verbally for like the thousandth time, and she was about to walk out and she looked up at her daughter’s picture, and it was the only thing that kept her in her job that day (she’s a single mom making about $32 k a year). That kind of thing is certainly only relevant to the person experiencing it. He’s so out of touch with what his shows are actually about, which is just a bunch of loudmouths and blowhards no one else can stand being thrust together to duke it out for other people’s entertainment. It has nothing to do with any admirable moral qualities, and I wish he would get that through his thick head.

    • Kat says:

Forbes definition of “powerful” would be helpful. “The Worlds 100 most Powerful Women”. Four categories were offered; politics, media, business and lifestyle.

I think the “lifestyle” category should be eliminated. The “power” of that category escapes me completely.
Maybe add science or academia or some other category that at leasts nods at the intellectual contributions women make and the power of those ideas.

  94. quincyil says:

This afternoon, I am going to research Jeff Lewis’s disease OCD and brain dyfunction because I think he’s really going to be in trouble in the finale Tues. Three projects have to be finished and Jeff’s under stress.

By luck, I noted a link that mentioned lying. The Salahis seem to lie and believe their lies. On WWHL, they were seemingly incredulous that Cohen and the rest of us didn’t jump on their band wagon agreeing that the finale vindicated them. Cohen said that the email they gave him as proof didn’t seem to prove the they were innocent of gate crashing. We all lie. We teach children not to lie, but if we didn’t few of us would have a job or a marriage.

Lying for the Salahis is pathological, in my opinion. I think they lie to each other as they did the the salon when Michaela couldn’t find the invitation in the limo. She knows it doesn’t exist. He knows it doesn’t exist. He said that having it is unimportant. She agrees and they move forward. That not logical. The other members of the cast, the production team, the hairdressers and makeup people, Cohen, and the audience all know that something is wrong with their behavior and words, but I don’t think they are aware of it. They are cunning in that they know to give their own names and not violate a federal law, but they consistently gate crash events in DC, while not admitting that they are gatecrashing. Their lawyers letters consistently threaten castmates and interviewer with warnings not to use the term “gate crashers” when we as an audience can clearly see that the Congressmen and women have called them “gate crashers.” The officials have stated that they never got an invitation and never were on the list. They were never seated at the table for dinner. They really don’t think they did anything wrong. This has to be a dyfunction of their brains.

    • Adgirl says:

I knew a couple exactly like the Salahi’s.
It’s as if they compartmentalize truth and fiction.
They KNOW they haven’t paid bills (or don’t have the invitation) but when confronted they emotionally jump over to their mental safety zone where they “believe” their lies. The result is they appear confident and truthful (up to a point).
It seems to be a weird pyscho state brought on by their desire to believe they are “good” when their behavior is “anti-social”.

Once you become aware of their true behavior it’s easier to identify when they are lying such as Tareq in the limo, and Michaele’s jumping around excitedly.

      • quincyil says:

The fascinating thing is these are couples feeding off each other. I absolutely do not believe that the Salahi family has forgiven all. I think Corrine Salahi wants to bury her husband in peace. I think it’s just another lie from the Salahis who were not invited to the White House State Dinner for India.

    • AZ Girl says:

One thing that is really confusing to me about the last episode is the day planner. You would think being ODC that Jeff would have that day planner on all the computers, backed up etc. so if the planner was lost he would be safe. Instead it is the opposite.

      • quincyil says:

I think he’s concerned about the security of the computer since Chris was video taped going through Jeff’s personal files before Chris was fired. I think the bible needs to be in the safe in the office and Jeff should have the information he needs with him on the road. Certainly, a notebook left behind in a restaurant is trouble.

    • nathania says:

It’s all part of their confidence game. They had ulterior motives for doing what they did, they need money. They need to demonstrate they have connections so that people will believe their schtick and give them money, invest in whatever they are selling. Teresa and Joe Giudice are the same way. Getting those photos with Biden was about the same thing as Teresa paying for that furniture in cash on camera. Flash the connections and/or the cash and line up the next group of suckers to take to the cleaners. The Salahis went too far this time, because they don’t know when to stop, because this is how their lives are. They are using each other just as much as they are using anyone else. Michaele was drawn to Tareq for his supposed money and assets, and he was drawn to her for her disarming personality. They saw each other as a means to get what they wanted in life, and they probably bonded over the fact that they want the same things. I actually feel more sympathy for him than her. Her opening line is “people have a hard time saying no to me, and that’s been my blessing”. And her opening scene in the series is when Tareq had someone bring her gifts, and she was supposed to choose one bag or pair of shoes or jacket, and she wanted all of them. Clearly HE can’t say no to her. I think on some level he feels like a schlub who is unworthy of this statuesque blond whom he thinks will leave him if he does not provide her with the lifestyle she thinks she is entitled to. It’s interesting to me that women tend to see through her…but men don’t. Mr. Salahi senior apparently liked her, while the mother can’t stand her. In the episode this week, three of the female cast mates were sitting there disgusted with her and Paul was defending her, so even a gay man doesn’t ‘get it’. It’s telling that the winery was fine up until the last decade or so and that Tareq and Michaele have been together for 12 years. And it would be just about fitting for her to play the victim and finally leave him when she drains him of his last dime, and then pitch some story about it all being his influence that she was taken under by, when in reality it’s the other way around.

      • Zipit Zarin says:

Brilliant. I’d feel sorry for Tareq but he deserves everything he’s going to get because he’s just as vile. Match made in hell.

It takes time to “borrow” all those recipes from friends, family, and the internet. I wonder if little Cascadia or whoever types them up for her. And don’t forget pushing “send.” I bet T does that.

And then ya gotta have the ghostwriter (“co-author”) put it all together with a narrative, you know like actually “write” the book. And then there’s the editor with notes and edits. It’s tough work this kinda book writin’ thing. So many people to watch putting it together. I’m sure T gets right on that in between scrubbing the floors of the manse, cleaning the toilets, looking after the kids, checking the overseas accounts, doing laundry and the yard work, shopping, giving to the poor, healing the sick, making personal appearances, making bail for Joe. It’s simply heroic.

Abou celebrity cookbooks – why do I have the idea that there is a secret catalog of “recipes” for sale and the celeb/author purchases a few they like?

        • Need a Hobby says:

Rare at this point that someone comes up with something entirely new, although it happens. Mostly twists and variations on existing recipes, if even that. And with the internet…..there’s literally a world of cuisine at one’s (or one’s ghostwriter’s) fingertips.

  96. Wall St Lady says:

    I love to cook.
I looked at Ape Ho W’s
Cook book at B&N for a few minutes. Nothing new u can’t get off the internet. These days when I want to cook something I google it & read all the recipes & often choose Rachel Ray cuz hers r easy to “dump” which is my style. Lately I have been making Mediterranean/Greek sauces & vegetable & fish. dishes. Who needs a cookbook any more. They just take up room.

I bought the “New Food of Life” by Najmiah Batmanglij a couple of weeks ago. She discusses holiday preparations for Iranians, the history and has a number of recipes from various regions. Not being Iranian, but cooking Persian food, I thought it was helpful.

It’s the ceremonies and putting specific foods together that I wanted. I have googled, but this actually shows me what it is supposed to look like on the table.

      • nathania says:

I would love to see a picture of that table when you get the meal together, I don’t know anything about Persian food and I am trying to learn more about using herbs and spices.

        • quincyil says:

I can do that. In fact, many friends put those pictures on their facebook at holiday times. My husband is a camera fanatic. On vacation, my inlaws and my husband had me posing all over Northern California. I truly believe that he Japanese tours are the number one photographers on the planet, but Iranians are running a close second place.

    • Adgirl says:

I’m not much of a cook. My fixall is onion soup mix or kitchen bouquet.

    • lillybee says:

My daughter learned to cook from RR cookbooks. The recipes are simple and tasty.

I was watching the previews of the reunion for HWODC. Michaele is nuts. She claims that Cat made her cry and then starts to supposedly “cry” and turns if off like a light switch. Cat turns to Andy and says “see?” she fakes everything. This is exactly what happened when she was interviewed about the MS.
Then Michaele proceeds to tell Cat that if she would be more loving to her husband maybe he will come back to her. WTF! Who says things like that? How hateful and cruel to say something like that. We don’t know all the specifics of Cat’s and Charles’ marriage. I am sure Cat appearing on the show was part of the problem. But there is much we are not privy to.
If I were Michaele I would not be “crowing” about sleeping with that slimy, bloated, sweaty grifter Tareq.

My lady Dr.was a plastic surgeon MD & decided to do non invasive 10yr ago. I never herd mention of Bd Certification.
Any way I have seen the results of RF,WH,V&S,& other black stars who r getting ready for something special.Like ms Ape they ask for her to work for free for PR she will get ; she say H to the NO !
She re surfaces, plumps & contours. She doesn’t use Botox ; doesent like it. She has 8 machines between the 5th Ave & Harlem office. One is thermage which is like a face lift.
In 10 years I have done about 5 procedures. Thermage ,2 lazor for brown spots on hands legs & face, one dermabrasion & 2 peels.
Most ladies do those once a year
For upkeep. Non hurt but I am like a squirmy child & I hate
to lay down. I haven’t taken a nap since my mother made me.
I do my own nails so I am not a
    prisoner for an hour.
I really saw a huge difference in the stars she did but on me , not so much. BTW Dr. R has amazing perfect skin & she is Quincy’s age.She is her own best PR.
(Please Don’t guess the stars here) oh yes she does one gal connected to RHW. Her 5th Ave office in on my floor so she let’s me know when a celebrity is coming in cuz she like me to glam up the place. Snark snark

    • realminkey says:

      WSL et al,
I saw an ad in the paper for “non-surgical” face lifts. What does this mean? Any idea? The before and after photos were pretty impressive, I’ve gotta say.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

funny- I can’t stand Botox either. I have a rep that constantly offers freebies and I always pass on it.

I sell more by showing I have no wrinkles but can also move my forehead when I talk!

I always say- “how can my staff know I’m pissed at them if I get Botox? This whole place will end up going to hell in my Louis Vuitton handbasket!” LOL

Well I hope everyone is enjoying this Sunday afternoon.
Here is a tweet from Kelly, she slays me. Just too damn funny for her own good.

kikilet RT @J_ashly: Does anyone else agree with me that @kikilet should take Heidi Klum’s spot as a victoria secret … http://tmi.me/26rqJ
    about 22 hours ago

    • Zipit Zarin says:

Wow, she really does think that she’s All That. Amazing.

    • Need a Hobby says:

Oh, yeah…Victoria Secret wants nothing more than to have someone with a botched boob job wearing its product. Not to mention the rest of the scariness that is Kiki.

They’d rather have Cloris Leachman in an ad campaign than Kelly Killoren Bensimon.

Actually that wouldn’t be such a bad idea: “Victoria’s Secret…it’s not just for kids.” And then some glam shots of older established mature women. (No KKB of course.)

      • Katie says:

Ha. I’d rather see her as well.

It is actually quite odd that Kelly is tall and skinny but looks terrible in clothes most of the time.

Nevermind the bad implants and odd midsection.

    • quincyil says:

Kelly Bensimon wants to replace Heidi Klum….. hmmmmm..

Can I replace Heidi too? I walked/sprinted that 7.4 miles, shoveled stalls and rode the stationary bike with sprint/slow/sprint/slow…. today. I used the Retin A and tiger masqued my hair. I think we should have a vote between this grandmother and Kelly…

  105. Adgirl says:

Has anyone here seen a real live RH? Especially interested in the NY ladies. How did they look and where did you see them?

    • vilzvet says:

Saw Alex and Simon at a book signing this summer, I believe I uploaded the picture here…and last year also saw LuAnn at her book signing. She’s drop dead. And of course Kelly at her horse show in August. No comment to add, we all know what she looks like, LOL.

      • Adgirl says:

        How exciting!
On year I attended Show West, the trade show for the movie theater folk. Tons of stars there. It’s funny but when you see someone famous in real life you think “oh they look the same.” only most of the men were much shorter than you’d expect.

    • Kansas Girl says:

I’ve not seen any of them around here, but I do keep my eyes open in case.

      Oh, stop laughing!

    • American Idiot says:

I saw Dina this past summer at the Jersey Shore. She was with Lexi and Lexi’s friend and Tommy. They were on the Seaside Heights boardwalk (the same town featured in Jersey Shore). They were buying tickets to go on the rides. Dina and Tommy were very dressed up; Dina had alot of makeup on.

    • realminkey says:

I’ve never seen any of them, unfortunately. But if I could only meet and greet one, I’d wish for Jesus Barbie. She’s so fantasically fake, I’d like to be able to take all in in person. A Q&A op would be fun too!

I’d also like to meet Ramona. As I’ve said, I know she’s b.s. crazy, but I still like her.

      • vilzvet says:

Yes, me too, I would like to meet Ramona! Now if you could imagine that we all had the chance to meet Jill…what on earth would we say or do? She knows her feet have been in the fire all year, so I wonder how her book signings go (not that there are many of them anymore). I don’t know how I would react if I ever stumbled across her (unless I was wearing cleats, then I would be happy).

One Month Bo is the professional. I only share my experience.
    Leigh Valentine of QVC now
Cost Co has a surgery free face lift. It must do something cuz she sells so much of it. I never tried it. Then again I use the original pink OLAY lotion. I have used it since I was 20 & I am pretty wrinkle free. (I have ALWAYS worn a hat)

    • MAMAZ says:

WSL – Consumer Reports tested dozens of face lotion. They ranked the pink Olay #1. Came in before the stuff I was using from Clinique. I switched and love the pink stuff. My mom has always used it and was thrilled to be able to say “I told you so!”

      • Buffywood says:

I’ve been using the Pink stuff for 20 years now. My college roommate my freshman year got me started. It’s good to know being cheap has paid off.

        • TEB says:

Buffywood- didn’t you do the beach scene in college, though? Lots of sun at ODU ( i remember seeing bathing suits at Friday morning classes)

    • realminkey says:

The “non-surgical” lift I saw advertised is apparently some sort of procedure.

    • flippy says:

WSL, my mother-in-law swears the pink Olay is the only thing that works. And she was a Clinique saleswoman for years. Her mother-in-law always used it and had the most beautiful skin. I think you have got one up on us and it is probably too late for me. Glad you got the memo even if we didn’t!

Obviously Tareq’s mother is not helping the Salahi’s so I’ve been wondering if the Tareq’s recently deceased father spoilt him. When the father became ill Tareq took over the winery.

    Conservative Rightie too.
I have my beliefs but my love for individuals overrides any condemnation for beliefs different than mine.

Protestants have an empty cross to focus on redemption & resurrection.
The cross is the most used symbol in the Christian faith since the death of Jesus.
Modana began the renovation of the meaning of the cross in our culture and today it also a fashion statement.

My 1st cross given to me when I was christened has my name & birthday date so it lives in a box !

Two words: Sister Wives. If I can’t have the Duggars, they’ll do.

    • JKW says:

Did you see Utah is investigating them for Felony Bigamy ? Apparently they already have a lawyer and are ready to fight. They think they may make an example out of them to show UT doesn’t support polygamy. Another article said the producers checked with the authorities before taping. WHY get on TV when you are doing something illegal ? Like RHNJ.

The stars of TLC’s new show Sister Wives are under police investigation in Utah for a possible charge of felony bigamy.

Police in Lehi, Utah, said Monday they began looking into salesman Kody Brown and his four wives before the show premiered Sunday.

“At the conclusion of the investigation, the evidence will be forwarded to the Utah County Attorney’s Office for review and possible prosecution,” says Lt. Darren Paul.

RELATED: Polygamist Stars of Sister Wives Hope to Raise ‘Moral and Ethical’ Children

Police acknowledged that publicity over the show’s announcement prompted the case. Bigamy is a third-degree felony in Utah but is rarely investigated.

Brown and his wives Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn have 13 children and three stepchildren. They say they will lead a lifestyle that they want, even if it means breaking away from tradition

“If we raise productive, contributing members of society who are moral and ethical, that’s our final goal, whatever their path is,” says Janelle, 40, who has six children with Kody.

I was so busy looking at Michaela’s wrinkles that I missed the 2005 Rock the Vote comment. It seems President Obama knew the Salahis since he was a Senator and they were some of his earliest supporters because he was quietly telling Muslims of his support for their causes. I knew about that here in IL because of my Muslim friends, but apparently Tareq had a fundraiser at Oasis for our Senator. I suspect that the reason the Salahis felt they should be invited was their ties with the money raising supporters of the President who wanted help in the future. This information is from the Canadian press. We often have to look to the honesty of neighbors because our own press has their own agenda.

Whew…. Celebrity new worth had Nene at 3.5 million and Phaedra Parks at 12 million, that’s going to be a problem for Nene. I think Nene spends a lot for only having 3.5 million net worth. Perhaps, everything is free though.

Sheree Whitfield is a positive 50,000 dollars which is more than Teresa Guidice, but less than it takes to keep up appearances in that big rented home. The hand to mouth thing would worry me to death.

I wonder if the divorce between Nene and Gregg means Nene will go down to 1.75 million and still have to pay Gregg alimony. She states that she has her own money. I guess that means Gregg pays the bills and Nene has her own money for fun.

  125. streetwise says:

Lynn, Teresa Giudice does not write anything herself so keep that in mind when you analyze her twitter or anything written. I am sure you can figure out who writes everything for her. They do a bad job of trying to sound like her.
