I Hate Jill Zarin The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I Hate Jill Zarin                   Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

Bravo has done it again, how do they find these woman that are so willing to put their lives on television and look like complete and utter fools?  Three birthday’s and three completely different  celebrations.

Taylor’s daughter is turning four years old, Happy Birthday little Kennedy!  What do ultra-rich parents in Beverly Hills get their children for their 4th birthday?  A pony?  A new really cool swing-set?  The complete Barbie collection?  How about one of those cool elaborate clubhouses or a tree house?  Oh no, ladies and gentlemen, Taylor plans an Alice In Wonderland themed party complete with teapots pouring tea into a cup made completely of flowers and  security guards.

Exactly what every little 4-year old girl wants, high tea!

This woman is a party planner’s dream, spare no expense and what better time to get a little girl her first diamond jewelry because 4  year olds tend to take really good care of jewelry.  I’m sure Kennedy’s 25 little friends really enjoyed the expensive necklaces handed out as party favors.  They wouldn’t rather have had the Malibu Barbie, those necklaces were amazing.

It was obvious that Taylor didn’t focus on her child or what would make Kennedy happy, it was all about impressing the adults.  She doesn’t know her kid well enough to know how overwhelmed she would be by all of this unwelcome attention and over-the-top festivities.  Taylor didn’t care that the child preferred to spend time being pushed on a swing by the nanny than join in with her mother in having photographs taken.  Clearly Kennedy isn’t comfortable or secure with her mother as she couldn’t get away from her fast enough.

Luckily Taylor isn’t shy and even jumped up on her child’s party table to have her photograph taken, never mind that her child is in
hiding preferring to be away from her.  At $60,000 this party was a fiasco because the ultimate goal for a 4-year olds birthday party is that the child had the time of her life!  Luckily her daddy, Russell swooped in and saved the day by presenting Kennedy with the forbidden puppy.  I guarantee 10-years from now the one and only thing Kennedy will remember from her $60,000 birthday party is that puppy, without it most likely she would have remembered it as traumatic.

I have to agree with Adrienne, who was limited in her appearance tonight, an elaborate birthday party like that isn’t required every year, maybe just for the milestone birthdays.

Adrienne’s only appearance tonight was a nice family scene with a backyard Bar-B-Q just like we’ve all had, only with a nanny and a private chef preparing the burgers on the grill.  Don’t we all do it that way?  The kids are a bit unruly but we wouldn’t be seeing them on Bravo if they were well-behaved, that’s not how Bravo rolls.

Bravo must really like Lisa, she is shown only in the very best light.  I have to agree with Bravo, I think this is a genuinely nice woman who loves her family and is not pretentious at all.  Watching her prepare dinner for her family, the only thing that would give us a clue that they are wealthy was seeing her slicing filet mignon rather than the regular old pot roast the rest of us would be serving.  Lisa’s
18 year old adopted son Max was missing from the family dinner but when his name came up, Lisa’s freeloading trainer mentioned that Max probably called to ask for money.   A bit ironic coming from the dirt bag who doesn’t work yet lives with Lisa’s family for free in exchange for a few workout sessions.

Lisa’s face when her son surprised her by showing up at her Birthday party was touching, you could see that she was sincerely happy to see him.  Max was her focus as he came home from school to visit, his plans to pursue music and attend school in Los Angeles concerned her as he had a shady past in school getting into drugs and cutting classes.   As they tour the elaborate 24-hour music academy you could see the concern as she finally asks the tour guide if drugs are a problem at this school.  He explains their zero tolerance policy and Lisa seems to feel much better about allowing Max to attend this school.

Kim found her new dream home and the first order of business is to get the oven working, something three grown women don’t seem to be able to do.  Moving day was made more stressful as Kim’s sister Kyle was planning her 2-year old daughter’s birthday party on the same day.  Kyle is always outshining her sister!

Birthday party number three, not to be outdone, Kyle planned an elaborate, yet child appropriate party for her 2-year old daughter.  This party included rides for the kids, a petting zoo and food that kids would enjoy.  Rather than a Champaign toast, as Taylor provided, Kyle ensured that the kids had a good time.  At $20,000 it was still over the top and wildly extravagant for a 2-year old but when put side by side with crazy Taylor’s bash, Kyle seemed downright reasonable.

The biggest difference is hands-on mother Kyle had her 2-year old in her arms throughout the party, she focused on her child and ensuring that the kids enjoyed themselves.  Very different parenting styles are evident and I don’t think it’s difficult to see which child will grow up to love and respect her mother.   Family
photos were taken rather than vanity photos of a mother gone wild.  I can certainly see why Kyle declined Taylor’s invitation to combine the parties.

Lisa, the proper English mother, attended both parties and clearly felt more comfortable at Kyle’s house than at the Houdini Estate where Taylor threw her dog and pony show.

Finally, Camille, put upon, overworked, stressed out Camille.  With four nannies and house managers on every one of her estates, she is complaining about all of the work involved in planning a trip to Hawaii without her husband by her side.  Those phone calls and barking out orders to employee’s has to be really stressful.  She’s a “working” mother (I really should have put the quotes around mother, but that would have seemed cruel)  Her job is to maintain several homes and supervise the staff who care for her homes and her children.

Camille informs us that she’s got 30% more on her plate than any of other working mothers out there.  I can see that, who would relax in the hot tub and lounge by the ocean or utilize their 7-bedroom home in Hawaii.  The rest of us don’t have those problems to deal with.  She brought along only two of the four nannies on her trip to Hawaii, I honestly don’t know how she made it through that trip with only two nannies.  Do you suppose she has to actually spend some time with the kids when the nannies have a day off?  Are there labor laws for live in nannies?   Two nannies at 8 hours a day with 2 days off per week leaves some time for Camille to need to watch her own children, that must be really difficult for her.

Camille never misses an opportunity to tell us who her famous husband is, Kelsey Grammer doesn’t appear in any of these episodes but he’s with us in spirit.  As Camille continuously tells us that she needs to break away and come out from behind her husband, she also never ceases to remind us of all that she has, most of which she wouldn’t have had without Kelsey Grammer.  Apparently the world only has the talented work of Kelsey Grammer on screen because of his wife who kept him clean and sober for 13-years.   I can’t imagine how we would have survived the entertainment drought without this powerhouse Hollywood actor.

In all honesty I don’t have anything against Kelsey Grammer, his show was amusing but it certainly wasn’t must-see-TV.

Next week looks like a blast, Camille is treating all of the ladies to a trip to New York to see Kelsey’s Broadway show.  The feud between Kyle and Camille comes to a head as Kyle calls her hostess a liar.  Camille claims that Kyle made a rude comment about no one being interested in seeing Camille without Kelsey around and Kyle claims she never said that.  Of course, Bravo completely missed filming this exchange so we’ll never know the truth.  Watching the fall out should be fun though…

Until Next Time…

Poor Camille. It is very difficult to keep up all the houses, but it’s really hard to remember to notify the house manager before visiting your own house. Who was the guy in the hot tub?

    Love Lisa and Kyle.

    • quincyil says:

The Hawaii home was fantastic. Both of the homes that Camille has shown us have been spectacular. Thank goodness that they didn’t heat Kelsey’s hot tub. We wouldn’t want to waste money.

  2. HD says:

Great blog, Lynn! You summed it up perfectly.

I did want to add, to me, what happened with Camille and Kelsy seems like a self-fufilling prophecy. All she ever talks about is how she wants to not be associated with just being his wife, blah blah blah. I mean every episode. Well honey, you got it.

What trips me out is the woman he is now with seems very regular. Not that California, botox, implant, Barbie type of woman that Camille appears to be. Maybe Kelsy is tried of all that mess.

If my mate had parties like these women did last night, I would be tired of all that mess. It is like taking your money and throwing it right out the window.

    • boston02127 says:

@HD –If my mate had parties like those women did, I’d say sit back, I’ll handle it. Then I’d do it for 1/4 of the price and stash the rest for a rainy day.

      • quincyil says:

Boston, I would take your hand and lead you to the Salvation Army for those tea cups, walmart for the flowers in the sale bins, and we would make the food and tea. I bet we could make it look just like she had it with long tables from a rental store too.

I don’t think it would be 15,000. I bet we could do it for 1,000 and you might have some pennies left over from that too.

The people that threw the party really make a lot of money for what they do.

        • Kokuanani says:

The thing that really offended me at both parties is how cruel they were to animals.

I’ve been working in dog rescue for nearly 20 years. One thing we ALWAYS tell folks is that you DON’T give an animal for Christmas or a birthday party. Animals — particularly young animals — can’t deal with all that excitement and stress just as they’re thrown into a new situation. In addition to the “I got the kid a puppy just to show my wife who’s boss” attitude, this was horrible.

Even worse, however, was the “petting zoo” at the People Zoo of a Party. Did you see the poor ducklings and baby rabbits being chased around by sugared-up 4 year olds? This is cruel, and I wish someone had known to call the Humane Society.

          • JKW says:

Kokuanani…Thank you. I wrote basically the same thing in the last blog. I also work with animal rescues. The one huge no no is to give a dog (or any animal ) as a pet. You know Russell will not be taking care of this dog. It was a big show for him to give the daughter a cute little puppy. He already knew Taylor didn’t want a dog since they discussed it. This is exactly how so many dogs end up in shelters or being given up. No one will train them or take care of them. They are cute as puppies but they do get large and of course they have no training. It may have looked nice of Russell but it was a bad move.

            • Kokuanani says:

And then the “gift” puppy — now a DOG — ends up in a shelter, and is most likely euthanized.

Probably less likely to happen to THIS puppy, because it’s small and more easily tolerated when it grows from puppy to dog. But “real,” normal-sized dogs have a less happy fate.

          • JKW says:

I totally agree and wrote much the same on the last blog . That was irresponsible to get a puppy when it had been discussed and Taylor didn’t want a pet. Never give a dog as a gift. Do you think Russell will be taking care of this dog ? HA

          • quincyil says:

I thought this was cruel also.

          • Tuzentswurth says:

I thought too, when reading this that it might be unlikely that the dog will stay in this family for 10 years. Very sad indeed. I don’t think the values for embracing a pet as a treasured family member are there.

      • karenne says:

Me too!!! oh to dare to dream!

    • Katie says:

HD I think Taylor will have the same self fulfilling prophecy.

    • sophie says:

Well, thank goodness Camille got the man sober and thinking reasonably. Too bad that this new sobriety brought on clarity of thinking and he’s realized that a fake, pole dancing plastic injected gold digger isn’t really what he wanted after all.

Methinks the only reason Camille got hold of the guy was because he wasn’t in his right mind at the time. Be careful what you wish for….because you just might get it.

  3. China says:

The guy in the hot tub creeped me out! I’m not sure I can stand to watch these women continue to whine about their fambulous lives!

  4. China says:

    or fabulous! 😉 geez

  5. Andizi says:

Poor poor Camille. I really wish I had all of her “stuff” so I could talk about how bad I have it. Waaaahhh…..

Not only does she have 4 nannies for two kids, but did I hear correctly in one episode that she used a Surrogate for both kids?? Why did she even bother to have kids? Oh wait, doesn’t that secure more money in a divorce? I forgot, kids are worth more, right?

    Ugh, shoot me now… HA

  6. HD says:

I wanted to bring this comment I made over here about Iman… The comments that were made about the way she speaks meaning her ACCENT were bothersome.

“I mean she has an accent. She is from another country. Hello. Everyone is not going to sound like a hotdog eating, flag waving American. Iman was and STILL is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She blazed the trail for people like Tyra and others. Let’s not get too carried away with ourselves here. She has an ACCENT. People typically do that come from different parts of the world! HELLO!”

Thanks. Some things are just a bit overboard. No one wakes up and says you know what, I am going to have an accent for the rest of my life and sound different than Americans. Because heaven knows if you don’t sound “American” something is wrong with you. EYE ROLLAGE!

Now back to the Real Housewives of B.H.

    • JazzNightOut says:

Same comment here as on the other blog: AMEN.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

I always loved Iman. Even when I was a little girl and my mother would get fashion magazines, like Vogue, in the 70’s I loved her.

She is an amazingly beautiful woman, and suffered a lot of backlash from our own AFAM community as she became this premier black model but wasn’t American.

When she married David Bowie, I thought they were an amazing super couple and eagerly read all of her interviews.

Now I see the promos on Bravo and I’m like WTH? No, it’s not her accent-SHE’S A RUDE, NASTY, BITCH!!!

Just like I was disappointed when I learned there was no Santa- I’m disappointed this style icon, who has risen over considerable challenges, and I looked to with respect, turns out to be a complete asshole.

      • HD says:

I would not go so far as to call her a bitch (I try not to call women bitches in this sadly, mysonginistic world) but if you watch any of these shows there is a formula for them. One of the judges has to be the “villian”. It is set up that way. That is her role so to speak and I am sure she is playing her part. No one would watch if she said, “those clothes are not up to par.” But people like the drama, they need ratings, so she is going to play into that role. Every reality show has the person you love to hate. It’s what makes the show “work” for the network. Simon basically made American Idol what it is because of his classic “rude” behavior. It worked. Justified? No. Understandable? Yes.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

          ur right, it is mysongynist.

I guess I call women that are mean to other people:bitches, and men that are mean to other people: pricks.

How about we compromise on: NOT WHAT I EXPECTED?

I always thought she was so classy and ladylike and she handled herself so well. Bravo is making her look like an idiot- or she IS an idiot.

          • JKW says:

I don’t think anyone is taking anything away from Iman. She is beautiful and has an accent. However, she is on a TV show as the host and a judge and it is very difficult to understand her. Basically they will either need to use subtitles or people will miss half of what she is saying. It was difficult in the commercial. I think that was the whole point…nothing about her or her accomplishments. Heidi can be a bitch on PR too but she usually says what I am thinking. She is very direct and pulls no punches. I can also understand her.

            • Adgirl says:

Iman: It’s a fawshon emerwencee we need an ewacuasion!

            • quincyil says:

We will see. I am going to carefully review the show and lots of board members are going to contribute. It may just be Bravo promos that make Iman look mean. We all know that Bravo loves to do that.

      • TLM says:

@ OneMore — agree with you 100%, Sad to see her acting this way. She has really tarnished what was a respected career.

    • Snarkella says:

I’ve only seen the previews, but in those, I understood everything she said and thought she came across as direct, confident and intelligent. I never knew too much about her, although I knew who she was, but the previews made me decide to watch the show–because of her! Maybe it’s just me. I liked Simon Cowell, also. LOL

Hi Lynn, Loved the blog! Your recap of the parties was spot on.

    • RubyNewbie says:

Agreed. Iman is fab! Gorgeous, smart and outspoken. And you gotta love a woman who has a 32 year old and a 10 year old, a business, a rock star hubby with a helluva past and a tv show. I would love to sit next to her at a dinner party. Accent and all!

A little aside: I went to college with lots of Somalian students and damn if they weren’t all gorgeous. Just effortlessly good looking. Lucky ducks!

  7. SpunkyMonkey says:

I don’t know who was worse last night…Camille or Taylor. I thought kid parties were supposed to be for…wait for it…the kids! Why are we toasting the parents? That would seem more appropriate for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. Way to celebrate your kid’s birthday, by reminding them they wouldn’t be here without you. Why not just scream “It’s all about me!”, Taylor?

Camille…I feel so urged to send her a video of my life so she can see the true difficulties of being a “working mother” trying to balance it all. I will put mother in quotes because she doesn’t seem to mother those children at all. You have 30% more on your plate…really? How so? I work full-time, have a two-year old, and also am finishing up my college degree. My husband works retail so we worked out our schedules so our daughter only goes to daycare 3 days a week. Two weekdays with dad, three at daycare, and then the weekend with me. After I get home working all day I am taking care of my daughter. Once she goes to sleep it’s homework and housework. I am essentially a single mom on the weekends because my husband works 12 or 14 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday. So my weekends are spent doing housework, laundry, running errands, grocery shopping (no I don’t have a maid or house manager), studying, homework, and taking care of my daughter (no 4 nannies either!). I do this all by myself. I try to cram it all into Saturday so Sunday is free for my daughter and I to have fun together. I don’t mean to sound like I’m complaining about my life, because I’m not. I love my family, and I do this all for them. Just trying to show the contrast between working mom Camille, and the real working moms. So listening to Camille bitch about her difficult life made me want to hurl my Diet Coke at the screen. Lady, you have no friggin idea! Oh, it’s so difficult planning a trip to your Hawaiian mansion by yourself? Boo hoo! I mean, it’s their house, right? She didn’t even need to deal with finding a hotel or any of that nonsense. And, correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t her house manager handle all the arrangements? I don’t understand what she did besides having to get up early to get on the plane. And she was taking two nannies with her (honestly can she ever spend time taking care of her kids?) so I’m going to assume they handled packing the kids clothes and all the other stuff kids bring with them. And then there was the talk at the hot tub about their generosity towards their friend who was having a hard time. “We let them stay in our house, gave them one of our cars, yada, yada, yada”. Gee, I’m sure your friend appreciated having her financial difficulties broadcast to the entire country. People who are truly generous don’t keep track of what they’ve done for whom, or feel the need to brag about it.

Out of all the housewives Camille seems to be topping my “most hated” list. I wanted to like her, I really did.

    • boston02127 says:

@SpunkyMonkey –Your kids will probably turn out 100 times happier than Taylor’s or Camille’s kids. Money doesn’t buy happiness.

    • Katie says:

I’d be worried about Taylor sceaming anything with those lips. She could put an eye out

    • Raquel Papel says:

well said, I dislike Camille. I found myself laughig AT HER and feeling sorry for her kids. She spends more time w. the house manager, than her children. Camille you are gross….in the words of Kelli B

  8. karenne says:

Loved this RHBH’s!!!! Really got into the REAL character of each woman, as individuals, I believe.
Lisa is a great woman, so far and she just seems so loving and genuine but still with a great sense of humor about others silly expenditures, but yet she seems to have the money of kings!!! she has that ease of not having to show how rich she is, and I do believe she and her husband, are still in love, in that way of OMG, I’ve been with this man forever and we’ve built so many buisness together and our lives are so inter twined but she Loves him and its becoming more obvious each week IMO. Such a heart for her family, and kids!
Taylor was such a pretty little girl, and also an only child, with parents who doted on her. Sometimes, only children dont always have that nurturing gene, right away…its about ME ME ME. But it’ll grow on her…she loves her kid and trying to build memories to best of her ability. Oh the Puppy….her husband is so passive aggressive by getting that dog when they had “agreed” to NOT get a dog! I felt sorry for her, realizing how her husband respects her not at all…because now it shows up with their child, he is not my favorite at all. Neither is Taylor but she has a good heart, but isnt “into her Power of being who she is yet”…..she’s young. and pulled around by the nose, no matter what money she spends, he pulls out the Ace in the Deck….ahhhhh
Kyle, and Kim…..work your crap out!!!! Moving day on party day? Or how about party day, with expectations of “an extra hand” when Kim is obviosly moving herself with help from her kids, or friends? in their cars, campers etc. NOT MOVERS!!!
Kyle has many imperfections when it comes to treating her sister like an endentured servent, or some such type of lower person. She thinks she gives, and Kim doesnt always want it. Kyle is keeping her under foot, intentionally but Yes…I still like Kyle.
but she is ALPHA FEMALE all the way. what on earth did kim do, long ago? it seems like something happened, and kyle took over as big sister? I can see why she was Paris Hiltons PitBull on the Red Carpet and in events, after that sex tape of Paris’ went on the internet.
she was always with her, making sure she wasnt taken advantage of, or used by press, and had her back! I like that about her, but it says alot about how her family perceives her too. She is the strong one. The Mouth. But she is a great Mom, and friend it seems, or can be if she chooses to be.
Kim, I hope she gets some rest from being kooky and nervous, in her new home, it seems like a nice sanctuary, far away from BH.
    ????
Camille….geez, having her friends there claiming how she gave up her fabulous life….for Kelsey….to keep him sober!! haha,. she is not poor little Camille..she is fighting for her due, her humiliation is nothing compared to her desire for revenge. The big guy in the hot tub was her best friends hubby. friend was D.D. the one that got a free home and car, from Grammers when he lost his job….or the loaning of the home, until they got on their feet perhaps?
either way, it was a nice gesture, but it kreeped me out how he looked at her as she got in the hottub, sitting there with her cleavage and gold jewelry just all over the place….in front of his wife and her best friend, who didnt seem all that comfy in the hot tub, dont blame her.

Adrienne and dr….oofta…those three kids! They are very disobedient and wild things.
I’m surprised she hasnt taught them some manners, but I like her and I would imagine eventually she will get around to it. it could have been the photogs, making the kids nervous too..and they hadnt eaten etc etc.
Too bad the dad walks off instead of dealing with his children, doesnt he know that the father has such an important role in his kids lives? He ignores boys that are unruly, next thing you know, those boys are impossible and will be dis respecting authority, includeing the Mom that has more patience.
(BtW…I have many grandsons…each of them way more polite than those kids. its possible to train them young, and its amazing, polite kids, are kids that get invited places, and are liked. Why that isnt taught to kids to day, is beyond me.)
But..Adrienne…I gotta say, I like her alot but does she have time to spend with her kids on a daily basis, being so busy in the Maloof business?
Come on Adrienne…I’m pullling for you~!
Make your husband be the dad he is supposed to be to the BOYS!!!! They are old enough to be a little better behaved…but like someone mentioned…Bravo loves meltdowns…in kids.
    character showed….love it.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Manners cost nothing but the time and effort you put into teaching them! What I am wondering is why some of these women have children if they don’t want to invest in their lives….they grow up so quickly!

    • Scorpiosue1102 says:

I’m giving a bit of a pass with Adrienne’s kids because a. Bravo LOVES showing bad behavior, b. they were playing outside and I know my son gets rowdy when he’s outside and c. the first we see of these kids are them acting up.

    • MichellefromNY says:

Honestly, she has three boys. Boys can be wild, especially when playing outside. They didn’t seem terribly misbehaved. In fact, they seemed very NORMAL. And seeing Adrienne and her husband actually playing with their kids was also refreshingly normal. Yes, obviously you need to teach a kid manners, but I grew up in a family of three girls and one boy where we all fought constantly. Despite the fights, we all turned out great and continue to be close. Our parents were strict but very caring and we knew we were loved unconditionally. Watching Adrienne with her kids reminded me of my own upbringing–the family time and bar-b-ques.

Also remember how Alex’s two boys are also rambunctious like Adrienne’s and we all know that she’s a normal, good mother so I wouldn’t judge Adrienne badly just yet.

      • Raquel Papel says:

I find the boys very normal too. running around in that cool back yard doing what little boys do

    • housewifeaddict says:

I thought Adrienne was great with her kids. Three boys that age are going to be fighting all the time. They’ll grow out of it. You know Bravo picked the whiniest moments to show.

  9. MadameBoudin says:

I think Camille is trying to convince herself that she isn’t worthless without Kelsey. She is so awkward and self conscious, I think she feels a deep insecurity. I also believe she knows the marriage is coming to an end, and this is why she is always talking about breaking fee of Kelsey and becoming her own woman.

I have to say, I know Kyle is the popular housewife but the way she treats Kim really bothers me. A birthday party is more important that moving house? Wow!

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Kyle probably put a lot of time and effort into helping Kim with the house search and move – not being there for the baby’s birthday was calculated and rude – the push pull of this dysfunctional relationship. We are only shown the tip of the iceberg that wants us to pit these two against each other.

      • Scorpiosue1102 says:

Agreed. I have a sibling like Kim and there is sooo much more to them.

      • pffffft says:

I agree, Kim is all about Kim. She is a needy little snot and if she were my sister I’d kick her to the curb! It’s not like she didn’t know whent the kids bday was, so she plans on moving that same day??? What a bitch.

      • housewifeaddict says:

But she was there – she was just a little late. And it sounded like Kyle asked her to be there when she was in the middle of moving. Do you really think she should have dropped everything and come running, just because Kyle needed a little help! And then to be attacked by Kyle the moment she showed up – in front of the cameras and Lisa no less – grrrr.

    • missmi says:

I cannot stand Camille!!! This woman knows that she is completely worthless and now is going to try and justify herself. Every episode is her explaining what makes her important and then talking about how busy she is, but really shes busy making herself look busy. All that she has or can give is due to her husbands hard work and money. The one thing she is good at is: contradicting herself on each segment. One more thing. I now count how many times she says kelseys name. She says his name AT LEAST once in each segment showcasing herself. UGH!! She is disgusting.

  10. Mary Jane says:

Nice recap. You’re so right about the way Taylor interacts with her daughter. She doesn’t know her child at all. Poor Kennedy was so miserable at her own party, it was really sad. Her and Camille are horrible parents. Why even bother having children if they’re going to be raised by other people?

  11. realminkey says:

Love love love Lisa and also Ken… Housewife cast members who are actually NICE people! Yes, they’re apparently rich as Croesus, but I think I’d actually feel comfortable hanging with them.

And on the flip side: Camille and Taylor….

Someone should alert Camille, that she hasn’t been Botoxing high enough up, and when she attempts to raise her eyebrows, two winkles form at the very tippety top of her forehead-right along her hair line. Shock! Considering her vanity however, she most likely spotted this when she first viewed the show, and has surely taken care of it by now.
In my mind, this woman has no redeeming qualities.

I was actually rooting for Russell last night. Loved the way he took the passive-aggressive approach, and got their daughter the puppy. LOL. I especially liked him for it, as it happened right after Taylor had thanked all the guests at “HER” party for “HER” daughter, while the man who paid for it, and who happens to be the father of HER daughter was standing right there at her side. Who’s taking bets on how long ’til Russell dumps her?

    • boston02127 says:

I was rooting for Russell too. Also, Someone said he ugly. I think he’s kind of handsome. Esp when he smiles.

      • boston02127 says:

        correction “he’s” not he

      • realminkey says:

I think he’s kinda good looking too, and I’d like to see him without the glasses.

I also think Ken’s attractive in a craggy, aged rock star kinda way.

      • kbinldo says:

Yeah, I don’t get the “Russel is ugly” thing. He’s kind of cute, in a nerdy way. (I have a thing for nerds) Anyway, the fact that he stepped up to the plate & gave his daughter an age-appropriate gift (puppy! what little girl doesn’t want a puppy? or a pony?) gets him major points on my score card. 🙂 Poor Kennedy, stuck with this over-the-top party centered around Mommy. And seriously, who writes a THEME SONG for a 4 year old? The heck? Diamond jewelry—for a FOUR YEAR OLD? NO NO NO NO NO! What’s wrong with some cute costume jewelry that no one’s going to flip out over if it gets lost or broken? sheesh!!!!!

        • ches says:

Did you notice one of the lines in Kennedy’s theme song was about Kennedy being as beautiful as her mom when she grew up? That line had to have come from Taylor.

          • MSU Chicago says:

I did and thought the same thing! I also liked that Kyle stated that Portia probably wouldn’t remember the party, but thhat it was a family event. That is the difference between her and Taylor.

    • JKW says:

Who is taking bets on how long it will be before the puppy is dumped ? Be passive/aggressive with something besides a living thing like a dog. That was just bullshit no matter how badly Taylor behaved.

      • error404 says:

Amen. I boggles my brain when people actually root for assholes like these two, using their kid as just another excuse to stick a knife into each other’s backs.

      • Snarkella says:

I’ll have to rewatch that bit at some point. Maybe I missed something, because I didn’t think Russell was being passive-aggressive. He doesn’t need to be. It’s his money, he’s the boss. Taylor even said so. I thought he seemed ticked off that Taylor was behaving like such a fool and he personally thought his little girl would get more enjoyment from a dog (even thought it might be wrong to give a dog as a gift) than all of Taylor’s nonsense. When Kennedy saw the puppy, she did look genuinely happy for the first time that day. Let’s all hope the maid likes puppies.

  12. realminkey says:

BTW, another good recap, Lynn. I don’t thank you enough, but do appreciate all the loving care you put into all this!

  13. boston02127 says:

    Great blog Lynn, thanks.

  14. Katie says:

Well good morning all. I haven’t caught up with bev hills, but I must say Atlanta has been great and I didn’t like it in the past.

I went on twitter because everyone was saying it is so fun, but holy smokes. It is really nasty. Lynn you must have a really thick skin. I don’t think I could take it. Yikes

Lisa said that Nene was her favorite HW. They would make a great wwhl show

    • quincyil says:

I don’t have the fortitude to be on twitter. If someone wants to attack me, no problem. I just ignore them if I feel they are incorrect. If they have a point, I will reflect and adjust. To bash someone for nothing is not my thing.

      • Katie says:

I’m with you. From the way everyone was describing it I thought it would be light and fun. Lynn usually includes tweets in the blog so I checked it out.
I was shocked at how many nasty comments directed towards Lynn.

I don’t think I would have the patience. It baffles me that Kelly continues to tweet

        • quincyil says:

In Kelly’s case, she doesn’t read the responses.

In Lynn’s case, she has a reason to be there and goals.
Soldiers don’t like to go to the battle front, but it’s their job. Same goes for Lynn when she is sent into the twitter world. rotfl

          • Zoey says:

I don’t know Q, I think Kelly reads the responses. Often she’ll comment back to the person, or make a general comment regarding tweets on her feed.
But, her responses either don’t make sense, don’t address the comment, or just don’t make sense! Then she always sums it up with a condescending platitude having nothing to do with the original post.

Teresa Giudice Blames Tabloids for Her Problems

Teresa Giudice of the Real Housewives of New Jersey didn’t take Kelly Bensimon’s course in Famewhoredom 101, “all publicity is good”. She repeatedly makes questionable statements, she’s not able to hide her marital and financial problems from the public eye, and she makes enemies everywhere.

Wasn’t she the one who first mentioned she’d be the cover story at Life and Style via Twitter last week? Didn’t she, in fact, sell them the story? So pardon my confusion. As for the story at Radar, nothing happened at the Posche Fashion show, held at the Brownstone since the North Jersey Country Club banned them after the Danielle Staub fight, started by Teresa, last year.

I received an email about the Fashion Show from Kim Granatell’s publicist, but, according to a source at the actual event, Kim was not filmed. There was “tension” and eye rolling in the room, with Melissa Gorga and the other cousin were on opposite sides of the room during the event, but nothing happened.

It appears Bravo is casting Teresa as the villain for Season 3. And she is cooperating, whether she knows it or not.

If we’ve learned anything over two seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, it’s that you don’t pick a fight with Teresa Giudice. The Jersey Housewife is firing back at tabloid reports that have claimed everything from marriage troubles to physical altercations.

“Alright for the record, Life&Style=garbage, RadarOnline=flies who eat poop off of garbage,” Teresa tweeted at her prime assailants. “You will all see the truth when Season 3 airs. xx” she added.
Teresa took to Twitter after Life & Style rolled out a cover story claiming tension and infidelity within her marriage. Meanwhile, Radar Online landed in the crosshairs after reporting that a jealous Teresa tussled with her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, during a Posche boutique fashion show at the Brownstone, claiming “you could have cut their tension with a knife.”

    • LurkerAlso says:

So is Kim G an actual housewife or not?
She has a publicist who sends out such press releases, but the other REAL wives don’t?

  16. KellitaM says:

Dear Bravo, Please don’t show us a Housewife’s butt crack ever again. Thank you.

Moving forward, I’m in complete agreement that the $60,000 4yo’s birthday party was insane! It made me feel physically ill. I have been to impoverished countries and seen children living in cardboard boxes and eating from garbage dumps. I kept thinking about how many wells in Africa could have been built with that money. It was ridiculous, over-the-top greedy vanity.

Okay, stepping off my soap box now.

Taylor & Russell’s marriage is dysfunctional on so many levels. Who buys a child a puppy after the other spouse said no?? They seem to compete with each other, and I see no love or chemistry between them.

I am in complete agreement with everyone about poor, over-worked Camille. I homeschooled 2 kids for 7 years and added a baby into that mix without any kind of outside help (and loved every minute of it), so I don’t want to hear her whine about how busy she is. Ugh!

I do want to add RHBH has become a second favorite of mine, with NY still #1.

    • Kokuanani says:

Thank you for your soapbox “rant.”

We don’t even have to go to Africa to see the many ways that $60,000 could go to better use.

** pay the rent for a family who’ve been evicted because of foreclosure
** pay some bills for a family where one or both breadwinners have lost their job
** pay the medical costs of a family with no health insurance
** buy books for, and pay the upkeep of, a library which has been slashed by budget cuts
** buy provisions for your local food bank

So, so many needs out there, and they aren’t supported by the kind of glitzy “charity balls” these folks count as philanthropy.

    • karenne says:

KellitaM……Your Rant is totally appropriate!!! The fifty thousand dollar party….Yes, that would pay for how many rents/food/shelter/clothing/surgery on cleft lips/etc etc in developing or third world countries, and right here in America as well!!!!

Rant on, because that “kids birthday party” was so irresponsible. Its not like it was FAKE tv…where they grabbed some stuff from a prop room….it was a real party!!! all that money means nothing to her, but doesnt she know what the heck is going on? (although, I do wonder how much of a discount they get, by using the the various companies, showing their logo’s, their store name, the Barbie necklace etc etc, surely fifty grand….was “wholesale” I hope!!!)
It would be interesting to see WHO gives alot to Charity…and what charity..and how much!!
I bet some of the RHBH do give…

I have NO problem with them being Rich!!
But with much wealth comes much opportunity to help the less fortunate!!!

I think Adrienne is the richest and will stay that way, with the casino. Even in our poorest economy, the casino’s get more business than ever! Good for her!!
She seems nice, and doesnt try to pretend she is Fabulous..But she is!
she did mention how she was brought up with a good work ethic in an earlier episode!

Did we all see the Link to Kims Old Childhood acting gigs? She was on a lot of shows, but really old ones!! She must be hitting fifty plus…but she looks good!

Psycho [Tareq] Salahi” as I call him. He said he’s a millionaire. I go, “You’re married.” He goes, “There’s more of me to go around.” Are you kidding? You’re that broke, you’re looking at polygamy?

This came from the article. Oh, my goodness. Tariq tweeted Patti wanting to be on her show? What about the great love with Michaele? I bet they are breaking up and he is looking for another woman. Honestly, why would a loving husband want to go on Patti’s show? Something smells in Denmark and the hillsides in Virginia.

      • HD says:

Girl, that little tidbit of gossip I needed! What is wrong with him?!

        • quincyil says:

That is completely out of line, HD. What married man would do that given he is willing to take MS for his wife.
There is trouble in the Salahi home. Maybe, they can’t get freebees from hotels and restaurants right now. He called himself a millionaire? You have to have a million dollars for that designation and he is in debt millions. He had to be drunk and tweeting.

        • Waxdiva says:

That Tariq Salahi account on Twitter is a fake account. Last week, Michaele tweeted the fake Tariq and demanded that he turn himself in to the Sherrif’s Dept. for Identity Theft. LOL!I THINK the real Tariq Salahi opened a Twitter account last week but the fake one was opened about two months ago. I am surprised that Patti didn’t realize that the Twitter account was a fake. Simon Van Kempen picked up on it right away when the fake Tariq tweeted him.

She was certainly fishing for compliments and I thought it was so tacky to mention how her friend’s husband got laid off and she let them stay in one of their homes. Why put all her business out in the street? It is like she is nice to you as long as you are kissing her butt.

Call Girl….from the first time I set eyes on her…her smiles and looks are so FAKE….but call girls….they use em. and men, love it. dont even ask me how I know…and no, I wasnt one.
I’d love to find out if its true that Kelsey Grammars manager said “there is a girl you should meet in NYC, I think you’d like her”.
and he flew to NYC!!! WHY??????
Call Girl that does something “extra” maybe? a little something special that Kelsey is crazy for? or…what if she was a helper for his sobriety as she claims?
OR She is JUST SLUTTY….some guys like a slut on their arm….ewwwww

some guys need a beard????? Anyone?????
But if his beard, just got the divorce, she’d only be his former wife/beard if thats the case. Could she be going for Any Publicity is good publicity?
hoping for a career as a professional of some sort….ahem…

I liked his tv shows….still do. I watch his reruns sometimes…but when he was an addict, he was odd, from what I remember and he did have some odd habits, or so the entertainment news reported….darn, I cant remember what they were exactly….maybe girls showing their butt cracks? when she reviews, she always is so contrived…especially when she smiles TWICE, at the end, with a head shake inbetween them. I’m fortunate, little smile, shakey shakey, then a smile that says “dontch think I’m sexy and I know I deserve it and arent you just a little bit jeolous? ” with the shoulders coming up just a bit..ugghhhhh
so transparent. she is getting easier to dislike, and I thought it might not be that way, as we “went thru the breakup with her”…..not so.
she is getting REVENGE, just by saying things about him….”I kept him sober for twelve years”
She is trying to make him look bad….all she is doing is giving credence to why he left her! in my opinion….as to how it looks.

Favorites in BH are still Adrienne and Lisa. The others still need an enema!

ADRIENNE has those unruly boys, however, i’m sure they’ll be fixed by private/military school and their uncles.

LISA is a loving mother who will stand by her son and catch him if he falls. Fearing he’ll fall prey to drugs, it’s with great trepidation that she’s letting him follow his dream, on crime infested Hollywood Blvd.

TAYLOR continues to spend like a drunken sailor on leave. Like, does she have any mad money put aside? 60k on a kiddie party, for a shy girl, whose happiest reaction was a puppy! Although excessive, it is BH and I guess it is the status quo.

CAMILLE can’t help it. So overworked, caring for others, even she can’t believe that in her TH’s as she rolls her eyes embarassed at her very words! LOL

KYLE continues to be her horrible self. Treating her sister like an employee, demanding help and then chiding her publicly trying to shame her and making her feel guilty for not showing up early. With a grown daughter, tweens, a MIL, husband and vendors on hand, her sister not helping was a bone of contention. Whore-rible.

KIM so put upon, should have refused to help as moving should have been her top priority. Some have mentioned why she chose to move on the date of the party, but like the partygoers were free, so were the friends with vehicles. Kyle should have been happy they showed period.

Ok, I put my two cents’ worth up there on Taylor’s birthday party–I’m on Team Puppy, btw.

As for Camille, oh jeez, lady, get off the cross, someone needs the wood! Poor put-upon little me—wah wah wah, 4 nannies, house managers, planning trips alone to Hawaii. PLEASE! You’re almost as bad as that horrid Kate Goselin! The only thing keeping you from crossing that line is that you haven’t pitched a show where you get to pretend you’re a *real* single working mom who has to keep it all together BY HERSELF because you “want to see what it’s really like.”

    • pffffft says:

I’m team puppy too! What 4 year old even cares about diamonds? Clearly, that is more appropriate for an 8 year old (snark). And I’m sorry Taylor, but there is something seriously wrong with someone that doesn’t like dogs.

  24. shamrockblonde says:

they all end up adding up to 9 – and it IS my favorite – even if it’s not technically a movie!! – very funny!!! – as for the movies, I would have picked Casablanca – of all the gin joints…….

  25. Scorpiosue1102 says:

Taylor is living in her own world. That party was all about her and not her daughter. She did not care one iota if her daughter was enjoying herself or not. How self absorbed and narcissistic does she have to be??? I think that the puppy was wrong of Russell to get only because they discussed it as a couple yet Kennedy truly loved that puppy.

Camille just gets under my skin so bad. For me, and I’m surprised Lynn didn’t mention this, the most annoying thing she said is that she has a Jesus complex. Really? See Jesus probably would have sold one of his many homes and given the money to the poor. Jesus most probably wouldn’t take credit for all the wonderful things he’s done like keeping someone sober or keeping him alive….in general. I’m also guessing that Jesus would have raised his own children instead of having someone else raise his kids. Jesus complex my butt.

  26. ches says:

Camille makes me sick. She needs to schlup her 2 kids to Disney, and be forced to; plan the trip herself, find someone to take her to the airport (not a limo), fly coach, rent a car at the airport to take her and kiddies to the hotel, drag her 2 kids around Disney and be made to wait 1+ hour in line at each ride. And have to do it all on some sort of a budget….without nannies or assistants or house managers or drivers. Like 95 % of the normal world does.
Plus, I can’t believe she said “I kept Kelsey sober for 12 years”. I’m not an addict, but have a few close friends who are recovering from both drugs or booze. And there is no way *she* kept him sober from anything. If he stayed sober it was totally due to himself and he should take full credit. I think her statement is really insulting to anyone with a friend or family member with an addiction. If she’s that great that she can get, and keep, people sober, she needs to open a rehab. Maybe she can shake her “magic boobs” and all cravings for drugs or alcohol will be gone forever. She should contact Dr. Drew.
And I read she was also an “escort” in NYC.

I’m sick.
camille was on the cover of people last week. did you all talk about it? Found this recipe for you:

      ENGLISH ROAST POTATOES
Choose one potato per serving. Peel the potatoes. Cut them into 3 inch cubes and boil for 15 minutes. In a heavy skillet, heat 1/4 inch oil. Add hot potatoes to fat and coat on all sides. Place in a 400 degree oven and bake uncovered for about 1 hour or until potatoes are golden brown on all sides. Keep them turned and well basted with oil as they cook.

bless you!!! when you say OIL…do you mean FAT? like cook the meat first kind of fat, and use that?

anyway, what kind of oil do you use? and how often does one need to turn them over in the oven???

I salivated when I saw those potatoes!!!!!! OMG, I love those foods, and English food isnt usually noted for being “tasty’ but the potatoes are!!! (often served with Brussell sprouts, no?)
Will be cooking them asap….thanks, you are a doll!!!

        • vilzvet says:

I made potatoes like that this week, we all love them. That extra step of frying them first makes them a bit naughty; you can certainly skip that part and simply cut the potatoes in little chunks (the smaller they are the quicker they’ll cook) and put them on a cookie sheet or pan with EVOO, salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder, whatever else floats your boat, stir to coat evenly, then bake high heat at least 425 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour.

Hi all, just got a home a little while ago from the hospital.

DD of course wanted to go home but they gave her something to mildly sedate her before really putting her under and starting the IV- so she was thankfully calm for that.

It took a little while longer to get her to really wake up (nothing concerning -her vitals were good and she was somewhat and briefly responsive to stimulation) so they had to give her a drug to snap her out of it. It worked great and she woke up as her usual self and even demanded we stop for donuts on the way home.

I doubt we will know the results until we see the neuro on Wed.

Thanks again for all the kind words and support.

  29. sofi says:

A male friend just told me that Tommy asked him to put on a tuxedo and help out at the Fashion Show at the Brownstone! He was there all night and told me that although there was tension, nothing happened. Melissa is by far the most beautiful housewife.
Yes, Joe Giudice has another woman.
Tommy bought a house across the street from the Brownstone for extra parking that the Brownstone needed, tore down the house that was there and built a new one for himself and Dina to live in. Dina wouldn’t live there because it is in Paterson. That was the reason for the separation, but he went back to the house in Franklin Lakes and they are back together. Chris Manzo lives in the Paterson house now. The reason Tommy doesn’t want to do the show is because he doesn’t make money from it.
Oh, and Teresa spent 8 or 9 thousand dollars on clothes at the fashion show. He wondered how she could do that if she was in bankruptcy. I explained that she was entitled to a fresh start (note tongue in cheek).
Now it all begins to make sense.

I’ve concluded that Kelsey dumped Camille because he craved a substantive conversation outside of the bedroom.
    She’s really idiotic and boring.

  33. Wall St Lady says:

    Watching season 1 of NJ.
The thing that makes me the sickest is viewing the inside of
    M&M Ape Mc Mansion.
The inlaid wooden floors with custom designs, the onyx sink in Mrs Apes bathroom, the granite and marble everything and the hand made iron railings are outrageously EXPENSIVE. Seeing the furniture man on camera who was eventually stiffed of 100 of thousands of $$ was outrageous. I believe M&M Ape knew the bankruptcy laws have the quirk that they don’t take your home & so they loaded the home w/millions of dollars of expensive items that they “stole” knowing it couldn’t be taken back like their cars & boats if it was “in” the mansion. Pretty good scam unless u get pinched for fraud.
I truly believe I will be doing the Happy Dance before the year is over !

    • WindyCityWondering says:

From your keyboard to God’s ear WSL! They are very smart crooks who are very good at acting dumb.

    • klmh says:

I hope to be joining you in that happy dance as well, and we can also raise our glasses and toast the US Trustee that filed the lawsuit against the Giudices to block their bankruptcy discharge.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

Some of their things were very expensive albeit gaudy. But some of them were just sort of run of the mill, cheapo stuff.
The rugs? They were ok- they were wool but all were knock off machine made Persians. I know because when I was looking for rugs online I saw some Teresa had.
If I was blowing 100’s of thousands of dollars on my house- I would have the friggin Taj Mahal.

    • pffffft says:

Jill’s legging line? Who does she think she is….Lindsey Lohan?

    • Kansas Girl says:

The college students seem to be wearing leggings this year. With very short skirts. (Brrr) But to my eyes, it’s not a good look for women over 21. Or for women who are no longer built like a stick insect.

Now and then I’ve wondered if Kelly’s fashion ideas are stuck back in her college years. She would fit on a campus (sort of, except for the obvious age difference). Looks like she’s been up all night “studying”. LOL!

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

        oh gawd.
        I’m 47, and I’m loving my leggings!
BUT you are absolutely right, it has to look age appropriate.
        For me:
        Always with flats/boots
Always wear a top/sweater/jacket that covers the rear view.

I still wear minis too but always with leggings or thick black tights (Kris Kardashian does too- but that’s where the comparison stops!) and flats or flat boots.

        I hope I don’t end up as a Glamour “Don’t”

        • Kansas Girl says:

I don’t think you’ll be a “don’t”, so long as you keep checking the mirror!

I love leggings — so comfortable. But some years back I caught sight of myself in the mirror and had a shocking realization. I’m not the tall, thin lovely I imagine myself to be. Frankly, I’m taking on my mother’s tree-stump shape. It was not a good look for this shape!

    • Sha2000 says:

Tried it Lol, sorry Shrek is enjoyable (especially the last one) but far from a fav.
We need to add Shawshank, The big Lebowski, Laurence of Arabia, some Woody Allen’s & a few more : )

      • klmh says:

Obama in 2012 should have been your choice. The number always adds up to 9. 🙂

        • Sha2000 says:

You know it! & that’s just what I thought too…but that’s not a movie, is it???

How about you klmh; hope you are having a good friday so far. I’m so happy the weekend is here & I’m cleaning the junk out of my desk draws so I’m feeling relaxed AND productive !

          • klmh says:

You sound so much more lively that I feel! Im now into my brownie/carmel cookies. Tomorrow should be a good day. Glad this has been a good day for you…

            • Sha2000 says:

Thanks! Cleaned up half my desk, need to study for my Horticulture class & clean 2 guinea pig cages, plus working up the energy to call my 80 something year old aunt. She’s great but the convo always lasts an hour, so any energy I had will be gone soon. Now if I only had four nannies like Camille I’d have them double up on the cages & clean the rest of the desk! ; )

  37. quincyil says:

I must be getting old. I am not jealous of one of those women and I wouldn’t have their lives if a miracle happened and I was turned into one of them like all of those Hollywood movies portray. I don’t want to be afraid all of the time. I don’t want to compete with the mansion next door. I don’t want to have the most lavish party for a 2 or 4 year old.

I especially don’t want to be Camille Grammer.

    • boston02127 says:

@quincyil—You’re not old Ms Q. I’d take your life before BH wives any day.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Quincy you are on to something! All the surgery, all the necessary trappings and rituals of the insecurely rich, all the fear about the present and not the building of a happy life begs the question, “Is it really worth it?”. The older I get the more I am happy with my life, my family and all the memories and moments that make it what it is today.

      • Sha2000 says:

Agree Quincy! Camille is so obviously over impressed with her material life, she constantly points to it as if we couldn’t figure out that she was wealthy from watching; she must be very insecure emotionally.

        • quincyil says:

She’s absolutely miserable and if she finds another man to pay for her clothes and homes, she still lost the big one. She will always want to be Mrs. Kelsey Grammer, wife of the greatest actor in the world.

Joyce Behar had an older female commedian on her show a while back who actually lived in a Florida house once owned by Dezi Arnez as his love nest. Lucille Ball loved him for her whole life, but she could not put up with the adultery on a massive scale. I would suspect that Kelsey Grammer had numerous affairs and Camille just ignored them. This last girl got pregnant and Kelsey got all protective and wants to marry her. No almost 30 year old flight attendant gets pregnant by accident. There are ways to prevent that. She wanted Kelsey and getting knocked up seals the deal sometimes.

          • Sha2000 says:

Yup! And if it didn’t seal the deal, child support could be hefty. All these men are a bad as the gold diggers they chase; in real life whats the chance a pretty girl would touch them with a 10 ft pole? And the women are called whore’s but it works both ways. I doubt the old guy that married Anna Nicole Smith thought that if he was a old man without a huge bank account she’d be into it.

            • quincyil says:

Tons of pretty girls, like Taylor was once, go for the money. There are doctors here that are not physically attractive at all, but they have affairs with very attractive nurses and drug reps. My husband says the women are upgrading. They want money and they are going after it.

Didn’t Bethenny have a theory about nerdy, rich men? She thought they didn’t get dates in high school so they went bonkers when they were rich and older. I think she’s on to something.

          • Diana says:

New girlfriend had a miscarriage. He’s still with her. That says something.

    • AZ Girl says:

Amen to that!!! I cannot imagine being Camille. She is really the most “empty” person I have every seen. Serving meals to the homeless on a daily basis for a year may cure her.

      • Sha2000 says:

& when she was talking about “giving back” aka letting her friends stay in one of her 7 houses, like that was such a sacrifice! Did you see the face of the woman in the hot tub? She looked totally over Camille. And being a NY girl, I can still hear Camille’s NY accent, not as refined as she thinks.

      • quincyil says:

Camille tried to say that her trip to Hawaii was actually to help out at a fundraiser, but I’m sure she didn’t do any work for the organization. She bought a nice dress and showed up.

I’ve been in the trenches of charities and served on boards where we watched every penny while trying to do good. Camille has no idea what being charitable means.

  38. Wall St Lady says:

I am generally not very sporty. I am one of these people who takes a long time to sweat. Any way I grew up on water ski s and roller skates. I don’t like snow skiing cuz Ii hate that much cold at lone time. Any way when I first went ice skating in Rockefeller Center. I was told my skill at roller skating and water skiing would be all I needed & I should be able to ice sKate immediately.
I certainly got up & could skate but my very thin ankles were absolutely not strong enough to make it more than 5minutes.
I hope Miss B has strong ankles but they look pretty frail to me.

  39. Sha2000 says:

Hi all! Late to this thread but I have to add that Camille is painful to watch! She so full of herself it’s unbelievable, in fact horrid to watch! Yes she has (or had it) all, but when she speaks of these material things she is so phony it’s sickening! That’s why I like the casino ladies tag line; “I have money but it dosen’t define me”, I respect that. Phadera & Camille are the two worst HW’s by far in my opinion.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Both act like they didn’t come from humble beginnings and modest means. Both are transparently desperate to appear to be something they are not. They earn my contempt because they have to tear others down in order to build themselves up.

      • Sha2000 says:

Yes they are awful! & to top it off, Camille reminds me of Danielle cleaned-up; making her doubly yucky in my book!

Hope you are having a good Friday Windy…it’s windy & cold here in Tampa, how about your neck of the woods?

        • quincyil says:

If Danielle’s hubby had stayed rich and married, she’s be Camille.

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

I actually think Danielle is a little more down to earth. She had her children- didn’t pay to have someone have them, no nannies even while married, no house managers, etc.

But then again Camille is so OTT it’s damning with faint praise!LOL

          • Sha2000 says:

She’s what Danielle dreams to be!

You guys get a cold snap yet Quincy? It’s going down to 43 here tonight & I’m thinking I may have to run & quick cover the plants for later!

            • Sha2000 says:

              Hi One More!

              She used a segregate?

              • OneMoreInBoston says:

Camille used a surrogate-yes- for both her children.

After seeing Danielle’s sex tape, I could see her C-section scar (I was…um…trying not to look elsewhere) so she has the battle scars that she at least carried her children to full term.

            • quincyil says:

We’ve been cold at night for a few days. Our geo thermal is running.

I was riding on the lawn mower and the leaves were blowing into whirl winds. The younger horses were watching and they would turn in a whirl, jump up and down and run away. They would return to the fence and then it would start all over again. The older mares just stood there watching the youth play.

      • fashion42 says:

It’s funny how they try SO hard to act like they come from “class” “wealth” and “privilege”. Not only does it come across as a completely fake to the viewer, it’s also just…sad. I mean Phaedra, and Camille are filming their scenes and in their minds they really think the viewers are going to be so impressed and in “awe” of them. Sad. Just be who you are, if you really are ridiculously rich or classy it’ll show through genuinely- like Lisa, or Adrienne.

  40. Wall St Lady says:

Still watching season 1 of NJ.
This is a study in fore telling crazy dangerous people in the future.

Remember how Ape woman confronted & chased Danielle at the CC & did it on purpose to pick a fight ? Well it is clear to me that Ape $h#* invited Danielle to her dinner party at the restaurante specifically to attack her. Teresa is interviewed & says she invited Danielle cuz “I am a nice person”.

I believe in fact T had planned an ambush.
At dinner when Danielle confronts the gals for passing the book around which she said was mostly lies. Eventually she was insulted & called names. Then the famous table flip and prostituon whore scream from T.
Jo RESTRAINS T. At one point it appears he is grabbing her throat. The unforgivable thing was that this all happened in front of Danielle’s 2 sweet daughters. Gillian. was particularly terrified for her mother and Christina’s face looked so sad.
Teresa is a pig and I hope she goes to jail for fraud and her children get to live in a trailer w/her parents.

At the end of the show Teresa is interviewed & she says “I consider myself a very classie lady. But I think Danielle now knows not to mess w/me “.

    Humm
I think we missed the forecast that T is a certifiable nut job with criminal tendencies.

    • quincyil says:

LOL… You must be getting ready for our end of the year final examinations. I will be posting the questions and we will grade on a curve.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

      Yes- but hit rewind.
I have always been bothered by Danielle getting into her car to go to the restaurant. Look at her purse. It is a little teeny, tiny, clutch.

Now hit forward to the scene when Danielle pulls out the book and places it on the table. It’s honkin HUGE. Where did it come from? Was it placed there? by who/whom? (where is @error440, which one is it? I always get confused on my whos and whoms)

If Teresa set Danielle up, Danielle was in on at least a part of it.

      • fashion42 says:

Danielle said that the producers told her to do it- either at the reunion or in an interview or something. That’s just about one of the only things I heard her say that I believed to be true.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

WSL when you have the time, go back and watch just Dina during Teresa’s last supper – you will see nuts!

      • quincyil says:

Running back and forth was really interesting, wasn’t it? I would love to know what one of those body language people would say about the trying to escape and moving around the table meant.

  41. nepenthe says:

Since Taylor didn’t know that hubby was giving the kid a puppy doesn’t that sound like he’s not living under the same roof? Bet they’re already separated and we’ll find out officially next season. And of course they’ll end up being the Bev Hills version of Salahis….maybe not so much in terms of outrageous lies but lies relevant to hubby’s business, etc.

    • quincyil says:

I read on this board that Taylor’s husband was bankrupt a few years ago, but he’s flush now as far as we know. She’s been buying jewelry from the jewelers for five years. If they bankrupted in 2005, she must be enjoying that fresh start.

      • Adgirl says:

Was it his his company that went BK? That’s a little different than personal BK.

      • ches says:

I also read someone filed a palimony suit against him around the same time. I couldn’t find any more info on it though.

        • quincyil says:

when they were on the couch in Vegas, Russell said it was great to get away from the children. If there is only one girl, why would he use children? He must have kids from a previous marriage.

  42. Wall St Lady says:

The bankruptcy laws really need to be changed. Having ones home off limits to courts or litigants is criminal. There should be a reasonable limit for a house.
My US Attorney General friend said bankruptcies are a huge part of his cases & there is always a back log.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

yes, but just because someone goes bankrupt doesn’t mean there should be homeless children.

Every system has loopholes. Teresa and Joe found them and played the system. Not too well played because they went on national TV. Pretty stupid if you ask me. Now there’s nowhere to hide.

      Greed always trips you up.

      • Adgirl says:

Maybe there should be a cap on the protected homes value?

      • klmh says:

If these people’s lives weren’t put on tv, they would have gotten away with their bankruptcy.

How many tens of thousands of people per year try to do the same thing and get away with it? Did you know there were over 1 million people that declared bankruptcy in 2008? I can’t even find the numbers for 2009.

Also, I do not believe your 401k or retirement fund can be touched in a bankruptcy, but that might involve law suits only…

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Read a recent higher income case where the court made the petitioners move to the smaller (requiring less income) house, which they owned longer than their “mansion”. This happened so they could payback what they owed, without losing a home – and these people started out asking for Chapter 7 and got kicked into Chapter 13. So where would the Guidices find an income that would support the mansion??

    • klmh says:

Any expensive articles, homes, jewelry, cars, real estate, etc. bought within a year or two of bankruptcy declaration should be sold to pay the creditors, in my opinion.
But I agree, the bankruptcy laws need to be changed to protect the creditors, not the bankrupt thieves like the Giudice’s.

    • kbinldo says:

I have to disagree with you on that one. I think those in bankruptcy should be able to keep their homes as long as they are paying the mortgage (that’s how the homestead exemption works). It’s bad public policy to throw people out of their homes because of debt owed to other creditors. Sure there are those who take advantage of society’s generosity, but the vast majority of people who benefit from homestead exemptions are normal people in a crisis, many due to medical bills.

  43. Wall St Lady says:

    Ad girl
That is what I said : a reasonable limit on a home. So if like the Joo-
Dices you sell the mansion to pay creditors & can say keep rent $$$ for a couple of years. I certainly wouldn’t want more homeless children.

    • quincyil says:

A small apartment with shared bedrooms over the pizzaria isn’t homeless. I grew up in a bedroom with three sisters. When I went to college and returned for a weekend, every thing that I thought was mine was cannibalized. I had to sleep on the couch. I survived. So will Gia.

      • klmh says:

I think they released the pizza place from bankruptcy and it is to be sold. Were the apartments above them? I think they might be included in the future sale of this property.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

      that’s not a bad idea.

    • justanothermary says:

Isn’t that were the $154,000 exemption comes in? I thought I read somewhere that Tree and Trunk would get to keep the first $154,000 for expenses. I imagine that would be things that need to be replaced to live comfortably, but not extravagantly. I know it’s a lot different in Jersey, but in Minnesota I could buy a modest home and furnish it for $154,000.

      • LynnNChicago says:

Thats perfect Justanothermary, lets relocate the Giudice family to Minnesota! Then we wouldn’t have to see them on TV anymore! LOL

p.s. Hope you’re doing well :)xo

  44. ches says:

I’ve got to comment on Camille again. I laughed at the end of the hot tub scene when her bresticles were floating like two oil-containment booms and she said something like, “I’m so lucky that I have so much and others have nothing”. Bravo then pans over to her friend who is very small busted. Had to be on purpose.
One other thing that really seemed weird was her announcing she wanted a hamburger…”a big beef hamburger”. For some reason that line just seemed so odd. Or I could be nit-picking.

    • quincyil says:

The friend seemed miserable and very thin in that hot tub. Apparently, Camille isn’t generous enough to send her friend to the plastic surgeon for upkeep.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

Is “bresticles” the Latin term? jk!

      • ches says:

        Yes Boston, it is latin.
Bresticle, derived from the latin word Ickle, which means abnormally large, round and pliable.
Not to be confused with the word breadstickle which means long, thin and crunchy.
It’s great being fluent in a second language.

  45. Dani says:

Ok, I have to say this because I have thought it from the very beginning of HWOBH and after Kennedy’s birthday party I am convinced of it. I think the reason that Russell is not into Taylor is because he is gay. He seems so uncomfortable around the other ladies and their husbands. I also noticed the guy he was with at the birthday party. Am I the only one that thinks this?

    • quincyil says:

I have no idea, but my guess is heterosexual. There are stereotypes for gay men, but I don’t see them in Russell. He’s a work a holic. We really only get glimces of him through the eyes of his wife and she doesn’t seem to like him very much.

      • Dani says:

I agree they certainly don’t seem to have any type of relationship. I just think he seems uncomfortable, maybe, it is because of the cameras. Something is not right about their marriage.

  46. Wall St Lady says:

BTW Camille will get at least $30 mil & probably much more for her 12 years of marriage don’t forget child support. She doesn’t need to b a gold diggers will b a cougar. I bet she will date/marry a youngster to dance in front of.
Camille & Taylor r sadly victims of the lifestyle they have choose in BH. Most digger wanna Bs or Rs don’t eat & have DD knockers. Next these gals have face lifts starting at 35. Then they plump plump. They all(men & women) become desensitized to reality & prefer the freak look. My God they have created a new human strain.
    God Help them.

    Me & Quincy ,

We like home grown boobs & lips !

    • quincyil says:

Yes, in the Midwest and South, we grow our own.

The other thing is the full moon faces of the women. Have you noticed that their faces look swollen like some kind of inflammation is happening. If the skin is stretched in your fifties, what kind of elasticity will you have in your 60s?

The more I look at these women, the more I enjoy my own smile. I don’t care if I get laugh lines because I love to laugh. I am going to start a new trend: Health and Happiness. I think it could catch on.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

I think they’re swollen because of booze

        • quincyil says:

Kandi and Jill are the only women who don’t drink to my knowledge. Lots of calories in alcohol.

Did you notice Lisa asking Kyle if she ate the week before Vegas? That kind of starve/feast activity doesn’t work when you get older. I wonder if they all do that.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

I love to look at women who have aged gracefully, with sparkling eyes and a quick smile – health and happiness comes from within and no amount of surgery can replicate it!

      • RubyNewbie says:

Maybe the swollen look is from all the fillers, like restalyne and juvederm, they’re probably injecting regularly.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

No- that shouldn’t happen with fillers. you swell only where you are injected ie: lips, cheeks.

this is a puffiness, that seems to happen to women who love wine.

    • quincyil says:

WSL, I don’t think 30 million will last long in Camille’s universe. Those houses have to be terribly expensive to keep up. I would be the taxes are high too.

At one time, I calculated that it would cost Bobby Zarin one million five hundred thousand to keep Jill Zarin in her lifestyle per year after taxes. His income would have to be 3 million a year in NYC.

Camille’s lifestyle is many times greater than Jill’s.

I don’t know how the photographer husband of Kelly Bensimon supports her as he does. She spends money like a druken sailor and doesn’t make a whole lot to offset her spending.

I think Sonja Morgan went to Bravo because she had that expensive house, a lawsuit, and expensive vacations to pay for from her settlement.

There are going to be a lot of housewives living like Eddie Beale in Grey Gardens if they don’t find rich husbands to keep them afloat.

      • fashion42 says:

I’ve always seriously wondered about that. Their spending is so outlandish (maybe it’s just for the cameras who knows) but if they really spend that like off camera I’ve always wanted to know how much they spend in a year, and how much money they’d (their husbands) have to bring in to keep up their lifestyles.

I grew up in a nice suburb and a lot of the time families would move into multi million dollar mansions but couldn’t afford furniture, or leased their shmancy sports cars. It seemed the illusion of wealth was more important to them than actually spending within their means and maybe building wealth by saving.

I definitely think Jills wealth is an illusion for the show, the BH ladies, I believe they have the money- but when will it run out?

        • quincyil says:

According to celebrity net worth, Bobby has 35 million dollars. His son is running the business, but I am sure that Bobby takes a cut. Jill has a prenup according to someone who posted here a long time ago. At the time, I speculated that the prenup is the reason, Jill wants all of the jewelry and gifts from Bobby. That would be outside the prenup if there was a divorce.

If he has 35 million, I bet the prenup was for 5 million. It’s just a guess, but he would want to protect himself if he went through the trouble of getting a prenup. Jill would be like many of us who saved after a lifetime of work…just an ordinary person.

Can I just say Taylor’s lips are distracting. My hubby walked in the room while Taylor was talking and exclaimed, “Damn, she’s got vagina lips!” Can’t believe she paid for that. Really Taylor? Taylor is a businesswoman, right? Why does she seem so clueless? How about giving her 4 year old a fun day of games and rides with an intimate group of her lil’ buddies? Kids just love to play ’til they drop and the parents kinda appreciate it too! I’m sure she loves her daughter very much. Save the rest of the money. Invest it for your little girl. Add it to her trust or college funds. Donate it to charity. But for God’s sake, don’t blow it on bullsh!t!!

Camille seems very vacuous and I’m giving Kelsey the side eye for hooking up with her and making her a mother. She also seems insecure and a tad paranoid. She’s shaping up to be the mess of the show.

Lisa and Kyle seem to be the most normal with a focus in life and some priorities.

I didn’t realize Adrienne had little kids since she’s pushing 50. Well, you go girl. Just stop with the hair (what is going on up there?), the excessive make-up and the plastic surgery. Pleeeaaaassseee.

    Well, that’s all I got. 🙂

Interesting article on Camille’s divorce. It says that Camille will receive over $40 million and Kelsey is worth over $85 million. Laughable items too like when talking about how money isn’t everything she says, “You can’t hug your car.” No, but you should start with your kids.

Oh, surprise surprise she doesn’t like how she’s portrayed *insert eyeroll*.

Also, in the article it says that Kim is not hurting for money. She is getting $23k per month from her ex-husband for LIFE as long as she does not remarry. She was also getting $20k a month for child support up until 2009.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

explains why she had her 4th daughter with a boyfriend and not a husband…interesting clause.

    • quincyil says:

      For 23 K per month, I won’t marry.

      • quincyil says:

Wait… that’s only 256,000 in alimony and you have to pay tax on alimony so that’s 128,000 plus 240,000 for kids for a total of 368,000…. that’s not a lot of money in her area… I wonder what the rent on that house is. Didn’t Kyle say Kim took a hit after the divorce? She probably has some residuals from acting too. Whew…thank goodness….it costs a lot to keep up with the the BH friends.

        • realminkey says:

Yeah, but 23K a month can buy a whole lot of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.

        • Kokuanani says:

The tax rate is NOT 50%, even on the high income folks. It’s more like 32%, but through loopholes, tax loss schemes, etc. the rich pay a far lower percentage of their income in taxes than, say, a waitress or secretary.

And then there are all the deductions that further reduce their taxable income. If they’re getting alimony, there’s not a deduction for the most regressive [hits the poor harder than the rich] tax of all: FICA [social security].

You can be sure Jill has got such a mountain of tax deductions — e.g. all those clothes to attend “business” and charitable functions, all those restaurant visits — that reduce the amount of taxes she ends up paying.

          • quincyil says:

What I don’t understand is the whole “beauty standard” that all these women strive for. Whatever happened to individuality? I was raised to believe that we are beautiful and it is our differences that make us who we are. I thank God for booze and chubby chasers or I’d probably be a 50-year-old virgin. Where are the boozers and chubby chasers in BH? My husband adores me and has for 25 years. I like being adored by such a terrific guy. We’ll never be rich or live up to the media’s standards of beauty, but we are truly, deeply happy. Isn’t that what really matters?

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

you are hilarious! “I thank God for booze and chubby chasers or I’d probably be a 50-year-old virgin.” LOL

Look I’m in “the beauty business” and these women’s beauty standards are skewed. Every day women come into us saying “please don’t make me look like…” and fill in the blank for whoever has had bad work done. NO ONE wants to look like this! (Although Taylor’s lips don’t bother me, probably because I’ve seen so much worse.)

It’s sort of like an anorexic who looks in the mirror and thinks that they are fat, these women look in the mirror and see ugliness, no matter what they really look like.

I’ll say to you what my staff hates when I say it at work: All of this work is just on our Earth suits. Focus on your connections to each other and tapping into the universe’s love for everyone and most of it won’t be necessary. Still doesn’t stop them for asking for freebies though! LOL

    • fashion42 says:

I’ve noticed that too, but I also want to give them the benefit of the doubt because maybe the kids don’t want to film, the dads although they signed the papers request that the kids be on film as little as possible, or maybe the moms just don’t think it’s a good to have their kids highlighted on this type of show. I mean…we all saw what happened with Ashley. I think the BH kids who aren’t featured are going to be happy about that when they get older, it will save them A LOT of embarrassment.

      • vilzvet says:

I have a feeling Kelsey vetoed the kids’ being on TV because he knew he was going to be leaving Camille while in NY and was trying to spare them some teasing. This “source” is quite favorable to Camille. Did she get to write the content?

Their marriage lasted 13 years when Camille decided to get divorced on July 1st, 2010. She is currently fighting for custody of her two children and spousal support in court.

      • TrillianAlice says:

I remember when Kelsey and Camille first got together and even after the first few years. Kelsey did say she was his savior and he would not be around if it wasn’t for Camille.

The only reason I remember all this is because my Mom was crazy about his show and she was sick and I was taking care of her and I had to buy every magazine with him in the publication.

      • error404 says:

I hate how they manipulate things in the press.

“She is currently fighting for custody of her two children” = he is trying to take the kids away from her

        or

“She is currently fighting for custody of her two children” = she is trying to take the kids away from him?

God forbid they simply share joint custody. No, why squander the chance to use your kids as pawns in an effort to demonize your ex!

        • kbinldo says:

When people say they are “fighting for custody,” they’re fighting over which parent the kids live with. In the vast majority of cases, the other parent has visitation rights, as well as a role in making decisions concerning the children. Of course, the parent who has the kids living with them gets child support, so if she’s “fighting for custody,” it’s really over $.

          • justanothermary says:

I don’t know how it works elsewhere, but in MN the non-custodial parent is usually granted legal custody so that, even though they don’t have full-time custody, they have legal rights to things like school and medical records. It also requires child-support payments. My hubs and I had legal and custodial custody of his boys so we received no payments from ragwoman (I mean his lovely ex-wife), but we also did not have to consult her on issues with doctors, schools, etc.

Did you ever through a decadent party? I have had many dinners in my home and birthday parties for children, but I always did all of the cooking and purchased decorations at a discount store. This Fourth of July, we had a huge party and with wine and beer, it cost less than $300.000 for thirty people who went back for seconds and thirds. There are specials on Wed. at our grocery stores. All you have to do is read the flyers that come in the mail. Those fireworks that were set off illegally were not on my dime, BTW.

I never had a birthday party at MacDonalds because I thought they were expensive.
We are not poor, just frugal.

    • quincyil says:

      Did you ever throw…. I didn’t notice that until I posted…

    • Kansas Girl says:

No, and frankly it would make me a nervous hostess! My most decadent event was inviting 2 couples and the BF to a restaurant for our Christmas get-together. I was living on the BF’s farm and he had become anti-social. Forbid anyone but his kids to visit. The kitchen had mice. My own house was not possible because all my cooking supplies were at the farm with the mice. And my brother and SIL are vegetarian and fussy. So we went to a nice middle eastern restaurant, ate our fill and had wonderful conversation (the BF ate and left early), and I picked up the tab. I thought $80 was reasonable, considering it was no stress. So, decadent or not?

Oh, and there was the huge party when I first moved to the farm. Celebrating 3 birthdays. There were 80+ people there. Pot luck, as that’s the expectation here. 2 grills doing hamburgers and chicken, which I provided. I bought a salmon, provided tableware, drinks. That came in well under $200. And I bought a volleyball net so they could go play in the pasture. Everyone left stuffed and carrying leftovers. A wonderful and inexpensive party. Parties really don’t have to be exotic to be fun.

    • error404 says:

the one thing I’ve learned about people is they certainly do have opinions! LOL

the only thing “decadent” I came to throwing was our wedding. I’m sure it was downright stingy compared to some other weddings, but then again, you’d be surprised how many people throw pot lucks in a church basement. So, compared to all of the online advice I read about using fake flowers, don’t give favors, don’t have an open bar, etc… it was downright decadent. We served lobster.

Yeah I know, I’m just a tool of the brainwashing consumerist machine, blah, blah, blah, but my special day really was my special day, so you can all go suck it. LOL

In this area is has become a yearly deal that we all look forward to. I’m a cook so I love what I do and my husband is a hunter so 90% of the meat is wild game. We say it’s to clean out our freezers before the upcoming hunting season, but it’s really just a blast. We sit on lawn chairs and throw horseshoes. The age range is from 2 to 200 and we all look forward it. That to me is decadent.

I posted on Lynn’s other blog and the name is different. I don’t know if I signed up for a different name or I am really that other person and I just didnt’ know it. It’s like a secret life that was so secret no one told me.

Last year, we were hearing rumors about the rift in the NYC cast. This year, other than Ramona beating the crap out of a producer, we have heard zip. We heard that Ramona could walk to the filming site and my guess that was the spa that everyone loves to go to. How many mani pedis can we watch before it’s too much?

When NYC Housewives began, I was so impressed by the wealth of those women. After talking with friends here, there are people living in our small town with many times the wealth of Jill Zarin, but they never mention it. All of our kids sit in classrooms next to each other. We have no segregation based on wealth, race, or location of our homes. I think this makes our children care about everyone and be open to all. We made the Forbes list for best places to live. I think we deserved that designation.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Wealth can be defined so many ways. Money makes people funny and the trick is to use it wisely. Some folks need to show their wealth in order to feel good about themselves. We watch the NJ wives lavish materialism on their children with no regard to the message being sent! Without a good education and high paying career these children will never come close to achieving anything on their own.
Money/wealth is necessary, but the real and true things in life are about the people in your life and how you grow those relationships.

This week on the show I was out of town for Spring Break in Hawaii. My family was with me and a few friends who came to visit us in our favorite place to vacation. Hawaii is such a wonderful, healing place for me. I feel so at ease with the natives and love the tranquility of the islands. It is a place to find inner peace and be one with nature. I love paddle boarding. It gives me that feeling of peace as well as an opportunity to enjoy nature’s true beauty. There are so many other wonderful things to enjoy in Hawaii, but this trip was not all about pleasure….

I know I’m late on the ‘real money’ discussion, but I really need to vent. I’m sure a lot of you know this already, but people who have real money would never allow themselves to be ‘outed’ via a reality show. I married into real money…it’s as old as the boat that carried my husband’s family to the US, The Mayflower. What I did not know was all the intricacies involved when one has real money. You never: flash it or let others know you have it. You always: work hard and save. As an ‘outsider,’ I have zero access to any of the gazillion trusts that have been set up. If my husband dies before me, I will receive his income from all the trusts, and even if that happens, I still will not have direct access to any accounts except ones specifically set for him. When I met my husband, I had no idea that as a child he was chauffered around, had a full-time cook and housekeeper and vacationed the entire summer. If you met him, you would never even think it, which is the way ‘real money’ like to keep things. I love watching the HW’s franchises because I’m just a little jealous of their freedom to spend without answering to anyone or anything; my husband thinks the shows are a total waste. There is so much more I could say, but I’ll stop here.

My husband grew up with servants too. He had drivers and traveled the planet. Not too long ago, my husband and his family members went to a wedding in Dubai that heads of state attended. The mother of the bride didn’t invite me, but I would have loved to see that decadent affair.

I think it was pay back because we had a small wedding in New Hampshire for our daughter and the Dubai mother of the bride felt she should have been invited. Oh, well… my daughter had med school friends that she wanted and it was her wedding after all. I have the video…oh my….lots of gold…

I come from more than one Mayflower family myself, but unfortunately although well-educated for generations (women included) and in some cases politically powerful, there were no kajillionaires in the mix. They were just comfortable enough to have a cook and maid or two, but then again that wasn’t terribly unusual even when my parents were kids.

My husband and I are what would be considered affluent by most, which also means we’re taxed to death (especially living in NY State.) We have a large house, cleaning lady and a landscape service, and can afford to take two or three very nice vacations a year. My nieces whom we are raising are much more priviledged than most of their friends in school, but we make an effort not to go overboard by spoiling them with too many material things. (Truth is, a lot of their friends of lesser means are much more spoiled.)

So yeah, we live a good life, and certainly need nothing more. I’m not jealous of any of the Bravo Hos for what they have, except for maybe one thing…. I really like the idea of having one of those “house managers”. Now THAT’s something I just might enjoy!

      • quincyil says:

As I was washing my mother’s floor this morning, she said she would like to hire someone for a few hours a week. LOL… I clean every Sat for nothing after I wash and set her hair and the hair of three of her friends. I think she was just dreaming of having one of them thar “House managers.” rotfl

  74. emt2 says:

So, I just watched another reality tv show that runs on BET named Tiny and Toy. Phaedra appears on the show, as a friend of the two women and she serves as a producer or consultant in the credits.

Her personality is COMPLETELY different. I knew that she wasn’t been real on the Housewives show. She is very down to earth and doesn’t put on airs on the Tiny and Toy show.

I was shocked when I saw her in several scenes because she was being normal and laughing and wearing normal clothing. She was speaking differently and came across as very educated, caring and fun. Complete opposite of this character on the Housewives show.

Yeah, Bravo reality shows are all staged, imo. I don’t put too much stock into the realness of these characters anymore because they are characters or they are pawns in Bravo’s selective editing and storyline plots and agendas.

FYI, Phaedra has been really great friends with Kandi for over 15 years but you never see them together and Bravo made it seem like Phaedra only knew Nene and Dwight.

These shows are about as real as the Young and the Restless. lol

Watching it too! Phaedra has a booty and a half (ill fitting, two small suit with that butt ruffle jacket) – and her business woman is working for her too. Maybe being on RHOA has gone to her head?

Camille. Every time she pops up on screen I want to turn right around and run out of the house like Rudy Huxtable’s fat little friend Peter. That’s all I want to do. She is just the worst, all lazy-faced and braggy about all of her fancy shit. She was going to Hawaii for a little vacation and she was soooo stressed out. She had to: pack her suitcase AND talk to her “house manager” about how the house should be managed. I didn’t say “or”, guys, I said AND. Both of those things. Do you know how hard it is to talk to your house manager? I mean do you have any idea the level of focus and concentration and guts that takes? “Please… like… turn off lights… and make sure… the house… doesn’t run away…. So….. Have you seen my nannies?” That is some taxing shit right there. Girl, you deserve a damn vacation! Go on to Hawaii with ya badself, workin’ girl! Bring those nannies, too. You earned it, baby

Nothing changes: the old r “jealous”/ snootie to the more old.

My Italian lower east side husband marvels at my love of old stuff. He grew up wanting New.
We recently had a flood in our Fla. home.Thank goodness for good insurance. My 25 year old kitchen was completely destroyed & its supposed to make me happy I get a new one & good for resale. I prefer my old kitchen. All my wood floors were ruined & ripped up. Marble which costs as much as wood is better for Fla. Our flood would have caused much less damage if we had marble. So I am being forced to decorate w/marble which I have never done.
Net net I want my 25year old home back.
God I hope no one thinks I redecorated to upgrade !

  78. housewifeaddict says:

I want to address some of the nastiness that’s been going on here and at other blogs, because it seems to me that we’ve got some of the housewives monitoring us and we’re driving them nuts. WSL’s post on where Jill really lives seems to have struck a chord – and brought out a fresh batch of venom. That’s too bad, because I think more folks here are probably like me, people who really like these shows, and like to share our thoughts after the show. These tidbits of info that we learn from each other round out our opinions of the housewives, like a show behind the show. A family of folks that are not ashamed to tell others that they love these cheesy shows. Hello housewives – we’re your fan base. The ones that help keep up your ratings.

I get that if you are Dina, Jill, or Camille, and you stumbled across us dissecting your lives, it would be crummy – we don’t hold back. We tell you how we really feel. Guess what, it’s part of exposing your lives on TV. As Kandi says, “rise above it”.

Are we jealous? I can only speak for myself in saying – heck no. I have no desire for fame, and have a job and some savings and a roof over my head, so I consider that a fortune.

Am I a hater? No – but I do love to hate you, if that’s the definition of a hater. For one hour a week your show gets me to have some sort of reaction to you, good or bad. Some of you I’ve really liked (Jill), then not so much as I’ve learned more about you. Others (Alex) went the other way around.

Why do I feel a need to comment on the shows if I don’t consider myself a hater or jealous? I don’t really know, but I enjoy the glimpses into your lives. I enjoy the often unbelievable things that come out of your mouths, or that you do.

I think for me, the ones of you that I really enjoy laughing at (sorry not with), are the ones who take themselves sooooo seriously, and expect me to be impressed with their fancy homes and lifestyle. The ones I really like are the girls you are mean to (sorry but can’t we all get along). Please don’t confuse that with the ones that play the victim (I’m talking about you Kelly, and you Danielle – who are you trying to kid). But Jill, you drove me to like Alex by the way you treated her. There I said it out loud. If you came across as genuinely liking her (like season 1), then my feeling for her are based on what she does. By season 3 you just kept picking and picking and picking, and I just kept liking her more and more.

So my advice to you is – if you’re not a genuinely nice person you may want to stay away from these shows. If you have no friends, and everyone seems ‘jealous’ of you, run away when someone suggests you try out for a reality show. You can’t make up a new version of yourself and sell it to the TV unless you are a gifted actress, and only working with people who know nothing about the real you (because they will comment in the voice overs – right Phaedra!).

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Well said! What you truly are will come across on the tv eventually.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

Really…is this true? That the HouseWives are all pissy with us/Lynn/WSL?

Jill has to expect that she is known in NYC. Zarin Fabrics has been around for what 80 years? Furthermore, her apartment was featured in Traditional Home magazine after she had it redone. What am I missing here?

How on God’s green earth can she NOT expect people to know where she lives?

She aspires to be a socialite. Other true socialites hire decorators, go to charity events, etc. Of course people are going to talk about her, and comment about her address!

Fer crissakes, everything is 7 degrees of separation anyway- if I met the woman years ago and commented about here, of course other people will say it too.

Are these women really that naive?

People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

Nov. 6th, and the link is one of the “tiny urls” which I have no idea how to do….unless there is a box for it.

if you are interested, its there! It gave me a different way of looking at her, but now I wonder…what the heck happened to her? I feel for her, she is in pain and her sister doesnt help any! I like Kyle, because she is spunky, but she has something against Kim that is beyond “sisters’ and rivalry, and her mom saying “take care of Kim”.

FINALLY!!! Some news about the Joo-Dice’s bankruptcy case!!!

“The Justice Dept. lawyer found several counts of fraud and has asked the Court to just kick out the Giudice’s bankruptcy petition all together. But Joe and Teresa will have their chance to address the allegations in open Court on Dec 12th in the Newark Bankruptcy Court.”

    Read details: http://stoopidhousewives.wordpress.com/

    • klmh says:

      Tx for the additional info.

    • Need a Hobby says:

Except despite ibuysss’ tabloid hyperventilation and misrepresentation, there’s nothing really new there.

The Trustees are not asking the court to dismiss the bankruptcy case.

The source site (ibuysss.com) continues to misrepresent the proceedings since they apparently don’t take the time to get it right. Or maybe the details are boring to them. Or maybe they’re just sloppy. For some unaccountable reason ibuysss, for example, keeps using masculine pronouns in reference to Roberta DeAngelis, the DOJ attorney who is a “she” rather than a “he.”

In September the Dept of Justice Trustee’s Office filed its complaint. This is in addition to the court appointed Trustee’s complaint filed at the end of June. We discussed the DOJ complaint at the time it was filed since as far as I know Lynn was the first to post it on the internet for discussion. (I think Had Enough! supplied the doc.) The DOJ complaint in .pdf format is still available here at this blog under “Giudice Filing Document” above. Bankruptcy courts are federal courts and the DOJ’s Trustee’s Office has oversight over the trustees and related issues. Hence the DOJ’s involvement. http://www.justice.gov/ust/eo/ust_org/about_ustp.htm

Both complaints assert that the G’s should be denied discharge of their debt (bankruptcy protection) due to the issues of perjury, nondisclosure of assets, etc…..they are not asking the court to dismiss the bankruptcy petition itself or “throw it out of court” as ibuysss says. Whether or not T gets her “fresh start,” aka bankruptcy protection through the discharge of debt, is the issue.

Whether or not the G’s face any criminal charges as a result of the content of their bankruptcy petition is another matter. Bankruptcy court is not a criminal court. The DOJ’s Trustee’s Office can refer that aspect to the DOJ’s criminal division for investigation and prosecution. What’s jurisdictional to the bankruptcy court is whether or not to grant the bankruptcy petition and if it grants the bankruptcy petition, whether or not it will give the Gs bankruptcy protection (discharge of debt) or leave them liable for their debts.

If the court denies the discharge, which is what the DOJ & the Trustee are in fact requesting, the G’s will be bankrupt but liable for their debts and the Trustee will administer the gathering and liquidation of their assets. At this point, given the various nondisclosures of assets and other troubling items, I don’t think the court would want to toss the bankruptcy case since bankruptcy gives the court and the trustees control over the G’s assets. Especially since there potentially are other legal proceedings that may arise from the bankruptcy.

What do we know about new NJ housewife Kathy Wakile?

    1) Here is her house
    http://thereallyoldhousewivesofmanateecounty.blogspot.com/2010/11/posche-fashion-show.html
    2) She’s Teresa’s cousin, and good friends with Melissa
    3) She has barely any followers on Twitter, but she tweets a lot! Aside from the almost constant tweeting of proverbs and quotes, it seem that she is trying to be friends with other housewives, but perhaps doesn’t really know them. For instance:

    A) She sent a birthday tweet to @bethany. But it was to the wrong Bethenny LOL

“@Bethany – Happy Birthday ! May all the joys and blessings be with u today and always ! Ur 1st bday with Bryne ?
8:37 AM Nov 4th via Twitter for iPhone”

Then corrected herself and sent it to the correct Bethenny

@Bethenny Happy Birthday ! Wishing all of 2day’s joys & blessings are with always ! Ur first birthday w/ Bryne? The best gift of all!
4:44 PM Nov 4th via Twitter for iPhone

    B) She responds to NeNe’s general twitters as if they were friends:

God don’t like UGLY! That’s y some of us move up & others get left behind! Happy Sunday tweetie pies
7:03 AM Oct 31st via Echofon
    Retweeted by 100+ people
    NeNeLeakes
    Kathy’s response, “@NeNeLeakes amen !! God sees what’s in ur heart !
9:37 AM Oct 31st via Twitter for iPhone in reply to NeNeLeakes”

    C) She tweeted happy birthday to Ramona for some reason, even though it wasn’t Ramona’s birthday.

    Kathy’s tweet
    @ramonasinger Happy Birthday !
Thu Nov 04 2010 08:02:48 (Pacific Daylight Time) via Twitter for iPhone in reply to ramonasinger
This was Ramona’s tweet that she responded to (LOL):
Happy birthday @Bethenny you have joined the 40 plus group and it does keep getting better To continued happiness and success !all my love R

for the record, Ramona then clarified when her birthday really is:
My birthday is Nov 18th I am a scorpio too!!
1:45 PM Nov 4th via Twitter for BlackBerry®
    (Ramona general tweet)

Oh well – I get the impression she’s trying very very hard to be part of the crowd. Good luck to her, and I hope she’s more interesting than her tweets.

    http://blogs.dailyrecord.com/photojournalist/2010/08/20/real-new-jersey-husband-in-court/

    I especially liked this part:
“Giudice was later convicted of DWI and had his license suspended for a year. He received a 30 day suspended jail sentence, 30 days community service and $864 fine. Joe’s attorneys in the DWI trial tried the controversial “glove box” defense claiming Joe wrecked his truck then had a couple of drinks after the crash. The authorities at Morristown Memorial determined Giudice’s blood alcohol level was .11. The judge in the case found Giudice’s witness who claimed Joe drank after the accident completely lacking in credibility and was “flat out lying.”

After showing up to court more than an hour late, telling his lawyer and the Judge that he thought the hearing started at 2:30 instead of 1:30, Giudice was mostly quiet except when the Judge asked him more than once how to pronounce his name.”

Today I went up to view Jill’s apt. which is just 5 blocks away from me.
I re viewed season 1 & immediately recognized where her apartment was because I go to a restaurant featured in the background which is across the st. From her apartment. I photographed. Jill’s home to document that her building is under the 59th st bridge . So when Jill is being filmed on Prk Ave in front of someone else’s apartment having a Bently ($1000/week) pick her up you know it is a lie ;Jill lives under the 59th St.bridge. One thing in Jill’s favor she doesn’t’ lie & say she lives in Sutton Place she does say “the upper East side” which is a lie. Sutton is an address on par w/ Park or 5th Ave. Those addresses DO NOT have commercial property/stores or restaurants on them. 1st Avenue on the other hand has nothing but commercial properties on the ground.
My pictures show jill lives under a bridge. The bridge is NOISy 24/7. The bridge is old & dirty. Notice there r no Bentleys parked in front ! Her apartment is next to a shoe repair shop ! Directly across the street is a restaurant that I like. Next to that on the corner is a TJ Max & a Grocery store.
Jill is technically is between Sutton Place or York Ave and 1st (ugly Ave). On her street 59 ;Sutton Place turns into York which is a DMZ zone from start to finish.

I ended my mission by going to
    T J Max & didn’t buy anything.

Hope u enjoy my tour. My pictures r posted on the LynnFam picture site.

Anyone notice that the BH ladies that are more inclined to brag about money are the same ladies that “married” into it – Taylor and Camille?

    • TEB says:

Yup. You are correct! Very astute!

      • Adgirl says:

I wonder they act that way because they feel a little underserving about having so much for so little effort on their part.

        • housewifeaddict says:

Maybe since they didn’t grow up rich, it’s something they think about all the time. Both Camille and Taylor seemed to pick their husbands so that they would marry rich. Like the Countess. Taylor is so candid about it. I wonder how her marriage will last with the airing of the show.

        • error404 says:

little effort? Believe me, the reason why I’m not rich is because I wouldn’t be able to put up with either Russell or Kelsey for more than 5 minutes! They talk about it because they have to constantly remind themselves what they possibly get out of such degrading unions. Could you imagine if Joe had pulled a surprise puppy out at the last minute during Gia’s party? He’d be singing alto for the rest of the season!

But seriously, I think the show was alimony groundwork for both women. I think each went into the show planning for divorce, and neither seems to miss a chance to let slip to the camera just how hard they work at having to suffer obediently such difficult and almost abusive husbands. Both seem to be making a case IMHO.

  87. Pinda says:

Good Lord, I felt I was over doing it when I rented out a Roller Rink for my daughters 5th birthday…guess not.

  88. Adgirl says:

I think Taylor is a plastic surgery basket case. I can’t believe her husband Russell wants to be married to an ematiated rubberface so what is motivating her to disfigure herself?
I get it that Taylor is married to a unromantic nerd. He is not demonstrative in the typical fashion.
My own husband is exactly the same but I’m not starving myself! Probably because I understood what kind of man I married and how life would play out on a daily basis. I know my husband adores me. I like his nerdiness! If I wanted a different marriage I would have married a different man.

    • housewifeaddict says:

I’m married to a nerd too, but I’m not worried he’ll leave me for a 20 year old.

Something is wrong in that marriage. What sort of a man wants to know – or wants the world to know – that his marriage is mostly business to his trophy wife, and she hopes she didn’t make a mistake marrying for money and not for love. He doesn’t seem to care for her, and she doesn’t seem to care for him. So why are they torturing each other. Urgh.

    • boston02127 says:

I wonder at what point a woman feels so unhappy about herself that she would

      • Adgirl says:

It would be the grossest fashion show ever to have Taylor, Jeff Lewis, Lisa Rinna (pre lip reduction) … who else… oh, Hunter Tylo is on a soap I use to watch. If we could get her from 5 yrs ago she was a grostesque freak too. She had to dial it back.

In a way, these HW shows are like nature shows. We see the animals in their natural habitat. Unfortunately, we don’t get a level headed narrator explaining things.

I refuse to judge Taylor for either her extravagant parties or her distorted face. Until I go undercover and live a year of my life as a plastic trophy wife in the most insanely decadent zip code on the planet, I’ll never understand what it is like to live in a world where $1,000 diamond studded Barbie necklaces are considered “normal”.

    • TLM says:

What I also don’t get with these women is the total lack of taste. It seems like if you want to sell ridiculously overpriced clothes, LA and BH are the places to open a store. Those clothes the stylist was showing Taylor were not only insanely priced, they were ugly as sin!! And cheap-looking!! Did these women ever think of visiting Marshalls or TJ Maxx??

It would actually physically bother me to spend that much on clothing. I admire Bethenny for plugging places like Old Navy, H&M and other that are very low-priced. I think Julie said B’s bedspread was from Kohl’s or a similar store. She proves you don’t have to spend a lot to look great. Her Karen Millen dress at the reunion I think was under $300. Yes, she is able to spend more on shoes, but she buys on Ebay and always looks for discounts. Who among the other women ever talk about finding bargains? They all sound like they try to spend the most they can for everything, and they just come off looking stupid.

anywho, Caro will stop at nothing to get her two know nothing, do nothing boys on the road to life. It’s like a lost episode of “Failure to Launch”. She’s desperately hoping that this will help Bravo decide to mold a whole show around two idiots throwing food at the wall for fun, starting stripper car-washes (the world can never have too many of those, right?) and going on fake dates they have no intention of repeating. I took a hit over on that link for talking about exercise routines, but that was directly a result of reviewing “Thintervension,” a Bravo show. I can’t imagine bothering to read comments and then going to another site to critize someone. Why would someone do that?

Is this going on all of the time?

I think it just started- ROH seems to be following a certain blogger on twitter who hasn’t come straight out and named this blog but now her (?) minions are posting about us over there.

RT had a few things about us- someone over there is stealing all my good lines and passing them off as their own-Hey! They seem to know all of our names and refer to us, but nothing bad-

I guess I’m the poster that talks about her job all the time? Well, shit people ASK me questions! whatevs…

This is Lynn’s blog. If there are guests here that are driving off other posters as these anonymous posters are claiming, I’m sure she would get emails and it would be brought to her attention and she would put a stop to it.

Interesting that they complain that we are off topic and don’t discuss the RH but then they talk about us.

It’s no secret Lynn is a good friend of mine, so why pick my blog to involve in this vendetta?

I’ve never knocked another blogger here and don’t want to start now. But don’t push me too far. I’ve done some investigating and found a certain blogger isn’t all she claims to be.

I have no problem staying on topic. I believe the topic is Bravo shows. Most of our posts are related in some way to this topic.

I’ve lived with women like those doing this in real life. They are generally unhappy for other reasons and it’s displaced anger that directs their words. Women are the worst critics of other women. I’m sure everyone here knows that. They criticize us for our use of our personal time while wasting their personal time monitoring us and then writing about us. Kyle’s daughter was right. We never get away from high school.

With Camille’s chronic IBS and all of the stress she is under having to manage the managers of all her houses (I don’t even want to think about what would have happened had she not warned them to heat her hot tub, but not Kelsey’s hot tub!), I’m sure the whole meeting was peppered with many trips to the bathroom. There are British studies done on cadavers that show Botox migration to the brainstem. I don’t think this is a cause of IBS, but over time, we may find out that is causes problems.

Theories seem to be all over the place. Some say diet, some say it’s psychological, some say it’s bacterial, some seem to think it’s linked to eating disorders, etc…

            • quincyil says:

Unknown… there is something wrong with the way her smooth muscles in the intestines contract. Her smooth muscles contract harder and push the food along too quickly which prevents absorption of nutrients. There are levels of distress and I don’t know much about Camille’s situation. She appears to be healthy on camera, but who knows how much she suffers. The fact that she discusses it means she has significant problems because many with this condition don’t tell anyone. It can affect vacations, travel, attending events….

There are a lot of people suffering with this. Mayo Clinic has studies going on if that helps anyone with their research of this topic.

All drugs have side effects. Should we use a drug for cosmetic purposes which has side effects like Botox? I don’t.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

      No way- no how.

Botox has been in use since 1989. A big reason Botox and its cousins, such as Myobloc, were OK’d was that preclinical testing showed that after being injected, they did not travel along the body’s highways—nerve cells—to the brain and spinal cord.

Botox is a very potent toxin but is very weak in other ways. Botox is typically destroyed by the body within 15-20 minutes from its injection into the body. During these few minutes it can travel a short distance- which is why you have to always stay sitting or standing up right for about 6 hrs. after you get it.

Just last month, 10/10- the FDA approved Botox to treat Migraine headaches.

      • Zipit Zarin says:

Ok but I’m still not letting someone inject food poison into my face.

      • Zipit Zarin says:

What happens if you lay down afterwards?

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

It can cause droopy eye. But the distance it can travel is in the millimeters.
besides if you pay for it-believe me you are compliant. You want it to work.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

Ok- at the risk of being accused of being OT- I would like to address the Botox safety debate.

Botox has been in use since 1989. It was approved for cosmetic treatment in 2002. There have been over 13M treatments done worldwide with no deaths attributed to it’s use in COSMETIC procedures.

*5/2008- one percent of 1,000 botulinum toxin injections—primarily in the face and neck—led to serious side effects, according to a German study published in The Laryngoscope.

*The other side of Botox use, as a medicine to alleviate muscle spasms and tension in larger muscles such as those in the arms and legs, requires higher doses of drug.

Recently, the FDA, announced that a handful of child patients who received high doses of the toxin in their limbs suffered alarming side effects far from the site of injection, including difficulty breathing and loss of neck control.

The most serious cases involved children who received large doses of toxin at multiple sites in their leg muscles for spasticity associated with cerebral palsy, a disorder that limits muscle control. Following the injections in their legs, they suffered distant side effects, like throat swelling, that made breathing difficult. A handful of children were hospitalized, and one child even died.

It was estimated by my medical director that the high dosage that these children were receiving regularly would have cost $10,000 for EACH dosage.

My medspas typically charge about $250-300 for forehead. That gives you an idea of the MASSIVE dosages they were giving these children. However the EUC has cautioned not to use Botox on children under the age of 12 in Europe. The FDA has not followed suit here.

        * There was a study done in Italy that showed Botox migrating when injected in lab rats whiskers to their brains.

        http://www.jneurosci.org/cgi/content/abstract/28/14/3689

In the rats, the drug travelled along the highway of nerve cells to the brain. Three days after the researchers injected the toxin into the rats’ whisker muscles, they were surprised to find evidence of the toxin’s activity in the brains of dissected rats.

So do these findings in rats warn of another way in which high levels of botulinum toxin might be dangerous in humans?

Allergan, the California-based manufacturer of Botox, does not believe so. “The authors used a laboratory preparation of botulinum toxin and did not use [registered] Botox,”

“Data suggest that different preparations of [the] toxin react differently in both the laboratory and in clinical practice,”

But nobody knows if the toxin has the same effect in humans. The dose injected into rats was up to 10 times greater than what humans would typically receive.

And it is clear that, in the experiments with rats, the dose given dictates the potency of the drug—increasing the dose means heightened Botox activity in the nerve cells of the brain. So, for travel between neurons, like diffusion in muscles, the drug might spread farther at higher doses.

Greater understanding about the spread of botulinum toxin could bring greater benefits of the drug. In some cases, the diffusion in muscles could improve treatments, like for epilepsy.

IMHO I won’t have Botox. But not because of safety reasons- but because there are so many better, more effective treatments out there. I just don’t like the look of it.

But my treatments would cost me $3000 per month if I was not in the industry. If I had no access to them, then Botox would be the alternative at $300 max that lasts for 6 months.

      • quincyil says:

        Never say never…

        http://www.rxlist.com/botox-drug.htm

All drugs are dangerous. People can die from tylenol and aspirin. Women die from birth control pills. Nothing is completely safe. The FDA oks meds and then takes them off the market. Pharmaceutical lobbies are pushing Botox. The still have to list the possible side effects by law.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

@quincy- all you have posted in what all patients legally have to sign off on before they are injected.
It lists all of the potential side effects.
I have drawers filled with these forms for EVERY procedure that we do, even the acid peels that you do yourself at home.

With all due respect I completely disagree with your statement that “All drugs are dangerous”.

All drugs carry some potential for adverse reactions. Some foods do to. Like peanuts.

As a consumer you weigh the risks vs. benefits.

          • klmh says:

We have some of the huge Physcians Desk References for drugs in our garage so I just looked at one. Not one drug listed on the pages I looked at had no side effects. My daughter give anesthesia drugs ever day. Ususally, it’s ok. Then, you come across the one patient…boom….

Some of the herbal teas are dangerous. Talcum powder turned out to be a problem.

As an Immunologist and Microbiologist, you have to look for trouble because it’s out there. That’s the perspective that I come from. Weigh your needs vs the danger. That’s all I am saying.

            • Kat says:

Many drugs are dangerous in certain circumstances. Few pass through the blood brain barrier – although it is curious about botulism found in cadaver brain stems.
Digitalis from the foxglove plant has a narrow therapeutic window and is toxic when too much is taken.
Tylenol can be and is in large doses toxic to the liver.
              The list is long.

    • klmh says:

Information about Botox and migraines from a reliable, source, Web M.D.:

Oct. 18, 2010 — Botox — famous for smoothing out wrinkles on the face — has been approved by the FDA to treat chronic migraine headaches in adults.

The FDA says Botox injections have been shown to be effective in the prevention of migraines, which are debilitating headaches that cause intense pulsing or throbbing pain and affect about 12% of Americans.

“Chronic migraine is one of the most disabling forms of headache,” Russell Katz, MD, of the FDA, says in a news release. “Patients with chronic migraine experience a headache more than 14 days of the month. This condition can greatly affect family, work, and social life, so it is important to have a variety of effective treatment options available.”

Migraine headaches are sometimes called “sick headaches” because they often are accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light and sound.

      • I have had severe migraines several times per month since I can remember. (about age 4) I am looking forward to my next neurologist visit to see if I am a candidate for this treatment. Anything for relief and fewer days in a dark room!

Tucker is lucky to have you. We have Sam and she is lost without her buddy Teddy, she is lying in bed next to me. We’ve been walking Sam to help her anxienty and to reassure her that we are still here and we love her still. Our two cats seem okay.
MaryJane I agree with you that the pain of loss is worth feeling when you compare that to every other day of our pets loyal loving lives. Ted was patient and had a sense of humor.

Teddy laid on the floor by my bed, we both hurt, we both knew it and we both made the best of our situation. I felt in a way that Ted’s time should be mine too. That is hard to explain but I’ve those thoughts since I i realized our lives had so much in commom. Pain, medication, and low mobility. Every day much the same.

I think I will be in the same situation soon, my 11-year-old Lab mix has been starting to limp around and I was advised to smash up Glucosamine in her food and after 2 days I feel she is walking much better. Hope I am doing the right thing, it was quite hard last week to see her come up the stairs and she kinda fell down and her back legs splayed out and she was stuck. But when she is outside she still can run after things so I hope she has a few years left.

Hi, I might be the last one to see this…but in case I’m not, I think its from People…?

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Kyle, the more outgoing and outspoken of the two sisters, says the show only worsened the tension between she and Kim.

“We’re very different and we clash sometimes,” Kyle told PEOPLE. “Being in front of the cameras brings out things that you don’t really expect.”

And when it comes to the status of their relationship now, Kyle adds that “it’s awkward,” noting that the drama on the show is all real. “There are no lines; there’s no script. It is what it is.”

Kim also shares a similar sentiment on her time on the show. “Things are said and done that you just can’t take back,” Kim said. And while reflecting back on her experience in filming the show, Kim reveals she and Kyle experienced fun times together but also the “worst conflict ever.” Kim adds, “I’ve learned a lot from this season.”

Kyle had the following to say in her latest Bravo blog –

“There were also some of you who felt that I am too hard on my sister or felt that I shouldn’t have discussed my issues with Kim with her daughter Brooke. I can see your point. Sometimes it feels as if my nieces are more like my little sisters. Also, after losing our parents, I am sometimes at a loss regarding who to turn to when my sisters and I have arguments. My being too strong with Kim is much more complex than I can explain in a blog. However, she knows I love her. Even if we fight, she knows I am ALWAYS looking out for her. Also, when I said that I promised my Mom I would take care of her, I should have explained that my sisters and I EACH said that we would look after EACH OTHER. That is what family is all about.”

    • quincyil says:

      Hi, K.

I was wondering why Kim and Kyle would do this also. I think they see the grand life of Paris Hilton, their niece, and want to get some of the attention. Paris was recently found with a purse containing drugs. She said it was not her purse, but some online sources showed her holding a similar purse on other occasions. It would kill me if my niece was into drugs, drunk driving, and sex videos, but Kim and Kyle think nothing of it. Kyle did say she was against the use of marijuana as she felt it was a gateway drug. Being a mother makes you more concerned about the influences from outside sources on your children, but their girls have Paris, their cousin as an influence. Kyle said she feels sisterly towards Paris. That’s wonderful. Does she ever wonder why Paris is so out of control that she feels laws don’t apply to her actions?

When he died somehow they kept the news from me for months but I still mourned non stop & wouldn’t eat for a month.
My best friend loved Little Jo.We used to fight over who was cutest. We wrote to them (along w/many others) & had autographed pictures.
When my BFF learned of my grief she said she ,w/great love for me said she wouldn’t mind
    sharing Jo.
So I became obsessed w/jo. (Fickle little witch/belle)

Hi WSL, did you see his Daughter on celebrity Ghost Stories? She claims their house was haunted & ghost of Errol Flynn came to her in a dream & said “Happy New Year” & her dad died that next new years eve; weird. She also talks about her dad towards the end of his life & it’s really quite sad. Here it is:

I don’t know if you will want to hear about how sad it was for him towards the end but here it is. Whether the story is true or not we will never know but it was interesting to watch.

If you watch or not, let me know what you think.

My sis had a crush on Richard Long from “Big Valley” LOL
I always thought the middle brother Nick was sexy. Funny, but we married total opposites. Her ex is a steaming hot mess, nothing at all like RL’s character (was he HEath, or was that the blonde youngest?) . My hubby is very solid, not at all the bad-boy outsider like Nick.

Jill tweeted Chris Cuomo of Primetime Live and Good Morning America at one in the morning last night.

@ChrisCuomo I need to talk to you about your bullying story. Can u follow me so I can dm u? I am having charity Monday to raise money. Need advice.

    • JazzNightOut says:

Do you think Chris Cuomo will know who she is?

      • boston02127 says:

JazzNightOut–I’m not sure if he knows her. I think it’s odd she would give him such short notice to contact her.

        • JazzNightOut says:

Thought the same, Boston. What manipulation has she got in mind now, trying to hook up with him re: people bullying her? Or trying to get him interested in her charity through saying she tried to contact him but he wasn’t interested (or a thousand other ways she will try to play this to her benefit)? Hope he just ignores her or better yet says on air that he doesn’t know who she is :-).

          • boston02127 says:

I hope he ignores her too.

Imagine having a charity on Monday and asking for help regarding it on Saturday night at one a.m.? You’d think she’d be prepared.

            • JazzNightOut says:

She probably just found out about his story on bullying at that time and immediately thought of using it to her advantage. Trying to make him feel important that she would ask for his help, lol. Jill, Jill, you are so transparently a user!!!

        • quincyil says:

Is this Cuomo the Attorney General? Perhaps, Jill wants laws against bullying. She surely would enjoy infringing the right of us to our First Amendment. She can write blogs criticizing Simon from OC, tell the Post that Simon from NY drinks too much, and make up stories to harm her best friend, Bethenny, and that is ok.
We state that we can’t stand Jill’s behavior and think she is an awful person, so we need to be silenced. I get it. Jill is the mean girl/bully from high school. What in the world gave her the idea that she could rule over NYC society and all of cyberspace. Susan Saunders probably encouraged Jill to do this.

He is currently, and I can’t type this without throwing up in my mouth a little, but he is currently shacking up with TV homewrecker Sandra Lee.

Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Phaedra: Why I married an ex-con

The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Phaedra Parks is firing back after her co-stars slammed her for marrying an ex-convict.

“It’s easy to criticize when you don’t know someone,” Phaedra tells Life & Style. “He’s my soul mate.” The successful lawyer married Apollo Nida on Nov. 1, 2009, six months after he was released from jail — he served almost five years for racketeering. “I know his character,” says Phaedra about the man she’s known since 1995.
“I knew he truly loved me for who I was and not for anything else. I respect him for the person I know he is — and not for who the judge thought he was.” The pair welcomed their first child, a son, over the summer. His birth will air on Housewives on Nov. 21.

I looked at BH this morning. I love the flowers. I love the pink roses at Lisa’s house and on her tables. I love the tea pot flowers hanging in the air. I don’t remember the NY housewifes or any other shows having flowers like the BH ladies do.

When I was little, I thought that having flowers in winter was a sign of being rich. I think those flowers in the homes of those women all of the time shows that as a child, I was very observant.

Kyle made a statement on camera when discussing the house hunt for Kim that Kim suffered financially in her divorce. I thought that her husband must have asked for alimony from her because she was a movie star. This morning, I read here that she was married into a billionaire family with the name Davis. Well, that is coming down in the world. To go from billions to a couple of hundred thousand a year with four kids must seem like a significant drop, like falling off a cliff. They also said that she rents and can’t afford a house. I’m sure she could afford to buy a modest house, but wants a fancier place and maybe doesn’t have the downpayment for that because she spends the money that comes in on daily living in order to keep up with her sisters.

It’s amazing the tiny pieces of information that we get here and how it affects our perspective on the women in the Housewives series. I bet neither Kim, nor Kyle, expected all of this information about their lives to come out.

    • quincyil says:

I just googled “Davis Billionaire” and found that there is a family that owned 20th Century and a Texas oil company. Huh…. that rang a bell with me. Last season Patti Stanger had a Davis millionaire creep whose grandfather ran a motion picture studio and family had oil money from Texas.

      http://crushable.com/entertainment/patti-stangers-next-millionaire-is-troubled-rich-kid-jason-davis/

This not so young man lived in a penthouse and threw money away on drugs. He was so horrible that I pitied him. It’s another failed case for Patti btw.

Is there any chance that the billionaire Davis family involved with Kim Richards and Paris Hilton from a post above is the same family that Patti Stanger mentioned?

Also, when I googled the name, the matriarch has fallen on hard times. The oil company declared bankruptcy and many of the family member claim that their inheritance is missing.

If Kim is getting her money from the same Davis family, she might have problems in the future. It seems the oil well ran dry.

I am not familiar with billionaires in California, but it seems like this may be the same Davis family.

I don’t care much for Kyle. I think Kim had been deeply wounded and hasn’t been able to work that out. The way Kyle treats Kim just disgusts me. I don’t see a loving sisterly relationship between the two of them. For Kyle to call Kim at the last minute to come and help her with the party and then to be mad that Kim couldn’t drop everything and come immediately, shows that Kyle is demanding and has no respect for Kim. If she wanted help she should have asked in advance. Also for Kyle to interfere with Kim’s daughters, that’s uncalled for. Kyle should talk to Kim in private and not give her opinion to Kim’s daughters when their mother has already said she doesn’t want her daughter going to Arizona. Kyle is deliberately interfering with Kim’s parental relationship with her daughters. I would cut a person out of my life for doing that to me. It isn’t the point of Kim being right or wrong the point is that Kim is the mother of those girls not Kyle and Kyle needs to respect that and the message she should convey to the girls is respect your Mother. I think that if Kim had some love and understanding from her family maybe she would be ok. But Kyle insists on lording it over Kim and that makes it worse.
Camille what a piece of work. What else can I say. She loves to brag–I just love helping people, look at how I’ve helped you. I’ve helped everyone in fact. I’m really quite fabulous you know. BTW I have so much more than you do. I’ve been blessed you know–I married rich and that is an accomplishment.
I don’t understand why the third sister doesn’t step in and help her sister Kim out if Kim has fallen on hard times.
