I Hate Jill Zarin Top Chef All Stars Dec 2, 2010

I Hate Jill Zarin                   Top Chef All Stars

I really enjoy Bravo’s Top Chef and this season is even better than any other because they’ve removed the one part of watching the show that can get a bit tiresome, meeting a new cast of characters.  This season we already know all the players, we know their personalities, we know who they get along with and who they don’t and we know their weakness when it comes to cooking.

It’s going to be fascinating watching how they’ve changed and
improved their cooking.  None of them have that first time on
camera nervousness or the shock of seeing Chef Tom and Padma for the first
time.

It’s just time to get down to the cooking and the drama.

There are a few that already stand out as the frontrunners but
really this entire group of chef’s are talented and have already proven
themselves in past seasons.  A few that I thought went home too
early on their original appearance on Top Chef, Tre, Richard and Elia for
example showed great promise but made fatal errors that sent them
packing.

The Quick Fire Challenge brought the seasons contestants back
together as the groups they split into were seven teams consisting of the chefs
of each of the prior seasons.  They were instructed to prepare a
dish that would represent the city where they originally competed.

Representing Season One and San Francisco, Stephen and Tiffany created a seafood gazpacho
that did not impress the judges and they fell into the bottom three of the Quick
Fire Challenge.  These two are not very popular with the other
contestants, Stephen is not only arrogant but he can’t back it up with his
cooking.  His specialty being wine parings doesn’t exactly make the
others envy his talent.  Tiffany has her days, but she can be a bit
arrogant as well and she still feels that she should have beaten Harold to win
Season One so she has a lot to prove in this
competition.

Season Two’s chefs
Marcel and Elia filmed in Los Angeles and prepared shrimp tacos that fell into
the middle of the pack for the judges.  Marcel had enemies in the
Top Chef Kitchens before he even arrived, Elia got along with everyone in Season
two  and even shaved her head before the final episode filmed to
show support for Marcel, Cliff and Ilan.  The boys decided that
they were going to shave Marcel’s head a as a joke and when you’re a bit drunk
it probably seemed like a good idea.  Unfortunately Cliff was sent
home for his actions and the honest truth is that I was hoping we’d see him
during the All-Star season.  He was a talented chef who made a
stupid mistake.  We know that Bravo isn’t all that against physical
violence, they didn’t fire any of the housewives for getting physical so why not
give Cliff a second chance?  As a side note, this all-star season
would have been perfect if Sam from Season Two had joined the chef’s because his
elimination was heartbreaking, I think many thought Sam would be Season Two’s
Top Chef.

Casey, Dale and Tre represent Season Three and Miami
Florida.  Their fresh tropical fruit and pork dish won them a place
in the top three during the Quick Fire Challenge.  I think Tre’s
departure during Season Three was probably one of the most shocking, in that he
seemed like he would be one to go all the way to the finale.  He’s
got that little bit of cockiness coupled with talent and so I think he will do
well in the All Star Season.  Casey is probably one of the nicest
chefs ever to compete on Top Chef and we learned that she runs a kitchen in Fort
Worth Texas now.  Dale looks like he’s been sampling a bit too much
of his own cooking as he’s a more puffed up than the last time we saw him, I
think many people were shocked that Dale went as far as he did in Season Three,
he was close to elimination a few times but this Chicagoan snuck right through
to the end but lost in the end to Hung who was clearly more
talented.

The team from Season Four, filmed in Chicago is Spike, Antonia,
Richard and Dale.  This group prepared a high tech Chicago hot dog
complete with a mustard gel and a sausage made from scratch in 45
minutes.  Taking the top spot in the Quick Fire, these four were
left with immunity from elimination in the final challenge of the
episode.   I was glad that Lisa was not brought back to the All
Stars to represent Season Four, her attitude was extremely poor and was most
likely the reason she failed to make the cut.

Season Five was filmed in New York and the three representing the
big apple, Fabio, Carla and Jamie chose to make three different dishes all using
apples.  This was a good idea but as even their fellow contestants
pointed out, the three dishes have to go together in their flavors and this team
failed to do that.

Season Six of Top Chef had to have the most talented and
professional group of chef’s that we’ve seen to date, with the Voltaggio
Brothers and Kevin Gillespie representing the final three, the mutual admiration
society was born and set the standard for Top Chef behavior and raised the bar
for the audience.  I’m not surprised that the losing brother, Bryan
or Kevin didn’t join this All Star Season, although I would bet they were both
invited to join as they were both very popular.  I doubt Top Chef’s
casting people will ever bring together a better cast than they pulled together
for Season Six.  The Season Six contestants who did join this
all-star group, Jennifer and Michael also shone in a season of very highly
talented chef’s.  Representing Las Vegas this pair made a pasta
dish that landed them in the top three of the Quick Fire
Challenge.

Finally Season Seven brings back Angelo and Tiffany, a powerhouse
team who both impressed during their shot at the Top Chef crown.
The filming of the All Star season began immediately after this season’s
reunion giving Angelo and Tiffany very little time to rest and regroup after
filming.  This could be a benefit as they were accustomed to the
fast paced schedule or it could be a detriment as they’re probably
exhausted.  This couple prepared crab cakes that landed them in the
bottom three, so maybe that gives us a bit of a clue.

I loved the elimination challenge, the contestants were given
ingredients from their final dish that earned them a trip home during their time
on Top Chef the first time.  They were instructed to prepare the
same dish that got them eliminated but do it right this time, make it
great.  This caused a bit of stress for the chef’s as they were
faced with the ingredients once again that was probably in their nightmares for
weeks after their eliminations.

Fabio noted that “you’ve gotta be stupid to get eliminated for the
same dish twice!”  But he may have spoken a bit too soon as he
landed in the bottom three of the Elimination Challenge.  Judge
Anthony Bourdain was especially brutal in his assessment of Fabio’s dish calling
it disgusting, ugly and compared it to his recent colonoscopy.
Bourdain, in his blog, did a bit of apologizing yet clarified that he was
right in his assessment of Fabio’s dish so it was a bit of a backward apology,
but for Chef Tony, it was probably the closest thing you’ll see to an apology,
here’s what he said:

Did it taste that bad? Did it — and by extension
— Fabio, deserve the kind of scorn I heaped on him?

I don’t know. Clearly, I hurt his feelings. And
seeing that, I feel bad. Really. To the extent that you can like anyone you know
only from TV, I like Fabio. And I liked how he stood up for himself and gave
some back at Judges’ Table. If I were an employer looking to hire a chef from
the among the All Stars, I’d think very seriously about Fabio. He’s smart,
likable, steady, level-headed in a crisis, and hence not easily flustered — and
I’m guessing he’s a much better chef than evidenced on this first day, where he
was challenged to “fix” a dish he’s surely had plenty of time to think about.
But…look at that thing. Really! Look again.

The chefs were split into two groups, the first group cooked while
the second group was able to dine with the judges then they switched, the twist
was the big screen TV placed in the kitchen that allowed the chef’s to watch as
the diners commented on their dishes.  It seemed a bit unfair that
the second group knew that their peers were watching while the first group had
no idea but in the end, hopefully they spoke their mind regardless of who was
listening.

The stakes were about as high as they could be, short of the finale
because no one wants to be the first to be sent home, particularly in an
all-star competition.   The three who faced that
humiliating possibility was Fabio, Stephen and Elia.  Fabio’s dish
did look a bit ugly and based on the judge’s comments, tasted ugly as
well.  Elia’s fish dish was not cooked properly, wrapped in banana
leaves the fish inside just didn’t cook and was served rare.
Stephen should really stick to annoying the wait staff because his three
appetizers were not appetizing at all.

In front of the judges all three fought for their lives and Fabio
very reasonably explained that he’s open to constructive criticism but Anthony
Bourdain’s comments were just uncalled for.  Stephen stood behind
his dish and Elia had one of the most surprising comments as the three were
excused so that the judges could deliberate.  Elia said, “Do not
eliminate me, I have much more to do here”.  Unfortunately her plea
fell on deaf ears and the judges sent her packing.  A bit
disappointing for viewers as she’s a fan favorite and we certainly would not
have missed Stephen’s pompous ass next week but alas the judges know what
they’re doing, right?

They must know what they’re doing as they crowned Angelo the winner
for the evening, joined by Spike and Jamie in the top three, Angelo wins the
$10,000 prize for coming out on top.  The evening’s controversy was
Richard’s mistake as he was clearly still plating his dish when the timer
announced that time was up and so while his dish was one of the best of the
night, he was not eligible for the win due to his timing error.
The judges did not reveal whether or not the win would have been
Richard’s anyway, but Dale made his feelings known, apparently he thinks the
rules should not apply to his buddy Richard.

A few of the blogs are up and if you read nothing else, you have to
read Anthony Bourdain’s complete blog, this guy is hysterical!  You
can view it here:

http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef/season-8/blogs/anthony-bourdain/the-sorrows-of-gin?page=0,0

I’m looking forward to this show every Wednesday night, great
contestants that we’re already familiar with and a fantastic group of judges, I
can even overlook Padma because no show is absolutely perfect, but Top Chef All
Stars comes very close!

Thank you to Quincy IL for this great guest blog on the Atlanta Housewives appearance on Ghost Hunters:
Real Housewives of Atlanta Meet Ghost Hunters

The first mystery of the evening is who called who to have Nene Leakes, Sherrie Whitfield, and Kim Zolciak look for Ghosts in Atlanta’s Rhodes Mansion located on Peach Tree St.  The two prime investigators, Jason and Grant, claim the Housewives of Atlanta called them asking to be on the show.  Nene  and Kim thought Sherree had called them to go out to lunch.  Sheree didn’t seem to know anything about asking to be on the show either.  The investigators are nervous about having the housewives on and the housewives seem nervous about being on the show.

The Rhodes Mansion was a stone structure similar to castles in Europe, built in 1890 by Amos Rhodes, a furniture store owner, and his wife.  They lived in the house for 20 years and died in the home. Their children donated the house to the Georgia Historical Society and member of the Historical Society have requested this investigation from the Ghost Hunters of the Syfy Channel.  Tracie Clark a director of the Mansion tells the team that people visiting and working in the home have heard footsteps and seen the apparition of a little girl dressed in a white dress and a woman dressed in a white dress.  People have also reported that they were touched as they walked down the stairway.

The team sets up cameras in hallways and rooms to monitor paranormal activity. They use thermal recorders to measure heat/cold, electromagnetic sensors and sound recorders. The team has information from a former tenant of the basement apartment which was not renovated when the house was renovated.  He states that during a severe thunderstorm, his lights flickered and his walls shook.

There are reports of a door that closed on its own and locked.  The team look at the door and it closed itself and locked right in front of them. If the door slammed hard enough the switch in the lock reacted and slide shut.

The male investigators meet Sheree, Kim and Nene outside.  Everyone seems uncomfortable.  They go into the house to investigate and the crack team of Ghost Hunters starts to call out to the ghosts to visit. The Atlanta girls follow suit.  The lights are turned off in the mansion.  Kim now is wearing white. She had black on when she arrived.   Kim is holding a camera and seems to be into the process. Everyone hears a sound.  They look at each other.  Nene says the sound is motorcycles outside. The investigators said that he heard motorcycles and more. Behind them there is a mysterious cough. (Do ghosts cough?)

Again, the investigators and girls ask the ghosts to come forward.

Two female investigators are in the basement near the heating system. They hear sounds from a pile of wood. They kick the pile of wood.  They sit on chairs in the dark and talk to the ghosts.  In time, they feel like something is touching their face and arms. This is Atlanta in a basement in warm weather (thus Kim’s jump suit with low front.)  No chance that spiders or insects are involved.  It has to be evidence of ghost like children touching them.  More sounds in the ducts of the heating system are noticed.  (Ghosts are probably running inside the ducts of the heating system on their four tiny feet.)

Everyone is still asking the ghosts to come forward.  The men go upstairs to the billiards room and they hear music( I didn’t hear it, but I am not a trained ghost hunter.)  There are old mirrors that when light hits them from the windows as cars pass by give a glow reminiscent of ghost trails. After 12 hours, the housewives leave.  We are told that they were 100% profession in their ghost hunting procedures. Nene loved the experience and the Ghost Hunting team hope to hunt ghosts with the Housewives of Atlanta again.  It may happen as the Syfy Channel and Bravo are both owned by NBC Universal and crossovers seem to happen every day. The men report shadows on the staircase.  The lights go back on and the men load up the trucks. The investigation is completed for the night.

Analysis:  the team heard things that they could not explain therefore there is paranormal activity happening.

Reveal: the investigative team tells Tracy Clark, the Rhode Mansion Director, that she was correct and there are odd things happening.  They confirm that her suspicions are correct.  They would like to come back to Atlanta and investigate the mansion again.

The End.

    Good morning everyone!

  2. HD says:

I am really looking forward to this show. Great chefs, great personalities and I am sure the food will be amazing. I am glad Carla is back. I so thought she could have won but I think she let someone else talk her into cooking in a different way then she usually does. I am glad she said this time she is cooking her food! AMEN! You should have done that in the first place!

I missed the Ghost Hunters. All this cross over is getting a little crazy. Did you see on that Fashion Show Laurie is on there getting a dress made? Laurie? Really? She is not even a housewife anymore. (That was Laurie, right? Maybe I was seeing things.)

    • quincyil says:

I notice Lynn Curtin was there talking about the bodice of her dress. Surely, they were in fittings so adjustments can be made. Most of the people on “The Fashion Show” are really good even if they have minor problems here and there.

We have cross overs on boards. LOL.. I don’t go far from home because I don’t like challenges, but I do take links from Lynn and other trusted board members. Grandma doesn’t need drama she gets enough of that in the real world.

Because my daughter and you are pregnant, I feel so close to you.

  3. MichellefromNY says:

    Hey all!!

Loved Top chef all stars and Bourdain was awesome! Loved his comments!!!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that while it may be early, I’ve been having major contractions since this morning. Kinda freaking out cuz they are really painful but am trying to relax as my doctor says it’s still early yet and we’re just going to wait it out a little bit to see if things speed up.

It’s very possible that I could give birth as early as tomorrow but again, it remains to be seen. I really hope it’s not a false alarm cuz these contractions are painful and I want an epidural stat! So wish me luck all!!!

  4. CdnFillie58 says:

LOL…loved your recap of Ghost Hunters…that’s exactly how I felt about it 😛

    • JazzNightOut says:

Following u back, Canada. Where are u in Canada? I lived in Edmonton for three years. Miss it a lot.

      • CdnFillie58 says:

Windsor, Ontario border city to Detroit. My husband got a job in Ohio but I have no intentions of moving state side anytime soon

        • JazzNightOut says:

I’m in Milwaukee, WI – border state to Michigan 😀 across Lake Michigan of course. I have a friend who used to live in Windsor; she is now in Thunder Bay. I am thinking very seriously about returning to Canada.

          • JazzNightOut says:

Actually a part of Wisconsin does truly border Michigan; northeast of Green Bay is that portion of Michigan which runs north of Wisconsin; seems weird to me, but on the map there it is.

        • ArizonaMagpie says:

I’m from Windsor Ontario too!! What a surprise. Where are you located? I was a few streets east of Pilette. A couple of blocks south of the river. Small world.

Great Top Chef recap! I’ve been looking forward to this season. I think it’s gonna be a good one. There’s alot of people I’m glad to see back , and I’m really glad Bourdain is a full time judge.

  7. TLM says:

Is anyone else thinking that the RHOA are *themselves* paranormal activity?!!?? The ghosthunting episode just sounds so cornball and *beyond* contrived. I haven’t seen the show and didn’t read the blog, but I will likely be skipping this episode when I run into it. I’d rather see the women doing what they do best: spending money they don’t have, gossiping behind each others’ backs, and taking turns being angry at Dwight. LOL. It’s not the Nancy Drew Show! What’s next? “This week, the Housewives try to solve Jimmy Hoffa’s murder”? It’s ridiculous. Bravo, stop trying to get cute and stick to the tried and true formula that has managed to suck viewers in, almost against their own will. 😉

  8. realminkey says:

Can’t wait for BH tonight. I’ve missed them.

    • JazzNightOut says:

Me too, minkey. This is my second favorite RH franchise. Favorite is NY, but I will have to see how it is without Bethenny. Love Sonja, Alex, Ramona and Simon. I am an unabashed Bethenny fan; altho she does not glide skate well. But one can’t have everything. Lisa is my favorite on BH, while the Kyle-Kim dyanmic hits home if you have sisters. And I do.

      • Adgirl says:

Me tooo! I guess watching authentically wealthy people is more interesting than watching jumped up suburban women running around shopping and dining in strip malls.

        • realminkey says:

Agree with both of you, Jazz and Adgirl.

I just love Lisa. Love her style, love her personality, love her husband and love her cleverly presented zingers that never come across as being mean because they’re always right on the mark, and are wrapped in a pink ribbon and delivered with a smile.

  9. Adgirl says:

Top Chefs All Stars was awesome. I didn’t want anyone to go home! I have to say Elia going home was a surprise, but she really made a mess of her dish. And she was a little bitchy when she said “Don’t send me home. I have more to show you. I MEAN IT.”

I also don’t agree with us at home saying “so and so is a better chef” or Hung (season 3) is better than Harold (season 1) because the TV audience does not taste their food. Just because the contestant acts like they are best doesn’t mean squat. My husband and I would disagree about Marcel, Sam or Ilian being a “better” chef. By the same reasoning I can’t say someone went home too early or stayed longer than they should have.
The same goes for Jennifer from season 5, the one who works for Eric Ripert. All the other chefs were nervous about her and were noticeably relieved about her skills after tasting her dish. Why are they so nervous? She didn’t even make it to finals! I suppose its because she works for Ripert?
FYI Ripert had to recues himself from All Stars judging because Jennifer is competing, that’s why Bourdain is on.

Hey, Seasons Two, Three and Four were the best!!!!

I just can’t warm up to Angelo or Tiffany. Sorry, I know a lot of people like her, but I find her passive aggressive and mean. DC area was dull as all get out. Too suburban or something. The contestants were boring too. Angelo is just weird.

I didn’t care for the Las Vegas season at all. I think it had to do with the environment being claustrophobic. plastic or boring, rather than the contestants. I loved Kevin and was sad to learn he and his wife divorced after the show.

I adore Casey! It is so good to see her again. Didn’t she use to have her own restaurant in Dallas? Her on screen tag says executive chef now. My husband liked the tall guy from that same season (Mr. One Ball). I didn’t even remember Tre being on the same season with her! And Dale, who could forget him talking about finding his chefness again after being dumped?

Having the chefs face the dish that got them thrown off the show was pure genius! So many smart chefs and so many dumb mistakes. Didn’t they all have nightmares about how they could have prepared this one dish better??? How is it Elia & Fabio made a mess of theirs – AGAIN? I thought it was unfair to have Stephen prepare and plate three dishes. They should have given him just one.

Again Fabio is wonderfully entertaining but just a middling chef in this crowd. I wish Stephano was on again chasing Jamie around. Stephano was another great personality. I’d love to see him and Marcel go at it.

I love Anthony Bourdain! Do I have to get used to calling him Tony now?? I just bought a used copy of Kitchen Confidential for my husband. Bourdain was and is a punk and that makes him great. His message is fine food is for anyone who wants to enjoy it regardless of you background or manners.

So many chefs looked skinny. Jamie, Tiffany (season 1) and Richard all lost a lot of weight. Richard’s face looked drawn. The girls looked great but I thought they looked great before too.

All I can say is I am so glad TC is on, back in NY!!! I am excited to watch ever single contestant. I don’t want anyone to go home!!
    Hootie Hooo!

  10. Buffywood says:

I loved Top Chef last night. I saw when they showed Casey it said “Brownstone Head Chef”. I had to google it to see if it was The Brownstone from RHWNJ and relieved that it wasn’t. I couldn’t stand another self promoting cross-over.

  11. Amber...Real Wife says:

Thanks for the recaps ladies, as I missed both shows. Will definitely be catching the all-stars to see the great dishes, chef drama and new egos, now that all of them are famous.

Disappointed that Ghost Hunters sounded boring. With those three OTT nuts, Nene, Sheree and Kim, I thought there would be alot of screaming, yelling, gasping and running. The HW’s involvement sounded like a possible episode of Abbott and Costello Meet The Ghosts, or The Three Stooges in A-Ghost Hunting We Will Go!

How apropos that the ladies were chosen for ghost hunting as they have used and benefited from ghost writers, ghost designers, ghost sketch artists, ghost seamstresses, ghost vocal arrangements, ghost interior decorators and ghost illnesses! LOL

    • quincyil says:

I thought the Ghost Hunters with Real Housewives was lame. Honestly, you go around a mansion for hours in the dark, asking the ghosts to talk to you? I couldn’t believe those women in the basement wondering why there are sounds in a century old mansion. I watched the end of the previous episode while waiting for the Atlanta girls, and the guy held up a electromagnetic field recording device near a moving ceiling fan. Ummmmm electrons moving in electricity…that makes magnetic fields guys. Looking at shadows on a black and white tv screen, you have got to be kidding. I thought the whole thing was ridiculous. Nene was nice, but she was pointing out the sounds of motorcycles when the ghost hunters dismissed her. When they did their analysis, I was making permanent wrinkles in my furrowed head.

Honestly, no one knew why the cast mates of the two shows were together. The ghost hunters didn’t appreciate the intrusion into their show and the girls didn’t know why they were on the Ghost Hunters Show.

Someone must have wanted ratings for Ghost Hunters.

Those men are not scientists. Trust me. I am one.

    • error404 says:

LOL about the small leap from ghost writers to ghost hunting.

overall the show was dull. There are a ton of these shows on tv, and all make a big deal out of nothing, but this one is of really poor quality in comparison to a lot of the others. ‘Most Haunted’ and ‘Paranormal Files’ are much better.

there were just a few LOL moments like:

      Sheree: “I heard something!”
Kim: “Sheree, you didn’t hear s@#$!”

      or

      Host: “Please show your presence.”
Nene: “Yeah, show yourselves. I wanna see what fashions you all wore back then.”
Kim: “Yeah, my daughters wear that frilly stuff too. I wanna see that.”

  12. Lynn, i must complement you on the all-stars re-cap. I think it was one of the best you’ve ever written.
I missed Ghost-hunters, must go back and read re-cap now! I just had to comment on all-stars re-cap before I got caught up in other stuff.

  17. sweet pea says:

    Thanks for the wonderful recap!

This is off topic but I’m watching the reruns of RHONY season 1. Ramona’s friend Cindy is the same Cindy that was recently on Millionaire Matchmaker. She is the romance novel cover girl. Just thought is was interesting.

    • quincyil says:

Wow…. when was she on with Ramona? Was she the friend that Simon said Ramona kissed on the lips? Cindy said she was a Playboy model and Simon called Romana a hypocrite for kissing her.

    • dsc60 says:

i thought that was her! thanks for the confirmation. one of very few millionaires whom i really liked. she seems really down to earth and sweet. i do hope her match continues to thrive, even if it was skank who initially hooked them up.

      • quincyil says:

I wonder if she is friends with Patti if she is friends with Ramona and has been on tv? She may be friends with Jill.

Manhattan has so many people but the same people seem to show up on the NBC Universal shows.

        • sweet pea says:

I only saw Cindy when she was in a club with Ramona and another friend for a girls night out. Jill was with Bethany and Luann at another club, introducing them to Alex. No interaction between Cindy and Jill, at least not then! I think some people get bitten by a reality tv “bug”. Cindy does seem very sweet tho.

  18. lillybee says:

I think that Elia earned her elimination. I was happy to see her and Marcel work well together.

TLM – Read on the last blog your Sony problems were taken care of. Good for you for sticking with it and getting the satisfaction you deserve as a consumer.

    • TLM says:

It’s not over yet, LOL. I got my computer home and discovered I cannot install Windows Media Center, which is one of maybe 2 or 3 things I use on the computer over 90% of the time. I don’t ask for much in life; I just like to watch Live TV while I am on my computer doing other things, and I was always able to do that on my VAIO. Well, after SEVEN HOURS on the phone today with Comcast, Microsoft, and Sony, we came to the conclusion it is Comcast’s fault, who I went to originally but they brushed me off saying they don’t set up PCs, only TVs. I cannot even put into words how much I hate Comcast. I will spare you the details and say that Comcast is scheduled to come out Monday. Bad things will happen if they cannot get this set up!! You all might see me on the news. 😉

      • Blue Sky says:

TLM, it is time. It is time to get the Apple Mac, you need to have sanity in your life. Before using a Mac, I too was stuck in the Microsoft PC world. Always thought those apple lovers were lunatics…now I’m one of the lunatics addicted to the Mac laptop.

        • TLM says:

I always liked Apple. We had the Apple II and the Apple II GS when I was in high school, although unfortunately none of the cool software, so they were pretty much word processors. Then out of college, I worked on a Mac and loved it. In grad school I used a Powerbook (I think it had 14 MB of memory. Ha!!!). But everyone basically kept telling me I couldn’t expect to use that after school was over, since all companies use PCs and you couldn’t swap anything back and forth. Those were dark days for Apple, in the mid-90s. Still, I loved my Powerbook and hated to get rid of it. (Do you remember eWorld? I used to go on there on my Powerbook. I miss it!). I gave in and my next 2 or 3 computers were PCs. Then the iPod came along, and Apple was back on top. I remember saying back then, “Why would anyone want an iPod? Who cares about this podcast thing?” LOL. I have an iPod Touch and an iPhone now. Ordered a refurb iMac a couple years ago, but it was DOA and I was spooked. I hope to get an Apple machine one day, but it’s just not in the budget right now.

LOL Congratulations to Lynn and Kbinaldo on their new gig at the AC.

I think JenSales is now on Clearance! Be careful when you boast as people will start to investigate. From RCH, Lynn and now Kbinaldo, we see all you need to be a professional, published writer for the AC is a good writing style and an interesting topic. Sales did pretend her assignment desk was overwhelming and I actually thought she was accredited with degrees from Columbia, but most likely she and fakedoc Tiyee are both alumni of the same schools! LOL

Hobby bloggers picked up the challenge and have shown Sales that they too are now published professional writers for the AC @ Yahoo! To think how many wonderful “hobby bloggers” out there, who felt Sales disdain and are now working for the AC. Lynn you are so much luckier than most bloggers, as you have hundreds of personal, private, executive, administrative assistants who proofread your blog everyday! 🙂

I absolutely LOVE Top Chef so I am in heaven with Top Chef All-Stars. I thought it was a really well paced episode. Anthony Bourdain knows his food so I see him as a good addition especially with this group.

    • Zipit Zarin says:

  33. cusi77 says:

The rest of the ladies knew how to dress… Kyle took her for her face treatment and I think she really looked fresher,,, the dress, the strawberries, the blind date first husband comment…. big no, no… Kim if you want to find love, find help first.

  34. MichellefromNY says:

Thank you so much for the well wishes!! Unfortunately, it turns out I was in false labor and it’s still early yet. Sooooooooo frustrating. So I’m home now, enjoying my housewives snark and trying to relax.

On to housewives!! I have to say, I was sooo happy camille was barely featured on this episode. The little we did see of her made me remember how “per-ni’shious” she is. Of course, she mentioned kelsey like ten times and was going to find a dress for kelseys event–aka the tonys. Of course she had to go with her house manager so she could spend the day being fawned over and mention how awful kyle is again and again. Kyle didnt even mention camille in this episode until lisa brought it up. Maybe cuz camille IS making a big deal out of nothing.

I HATE CAMILLE. Possibly even more than teresa. Definitely more than jill zarin.

    • TLM says:

I don’t think Camille has many friends, and she either turns the ones she has into service people (Didi doing her hair) or takes her paid staff with her and pretends they are her friends. The rest seem to be people who she’s letting stay at her house for free, or are trying to get extra air time. 😉 I was happy her appearance was limited in this episode, but when we saw her – shock of shocks – it was all about Kelsey again, and we got to hear his list of nominations and awards again. I don’t think she can go more than 10 seconds without mentioning him.

  35. MichellefromNY says:

I have to say mohamed’s house was AMAZING. Best house featured on the housewives show ever. A little too gaudy but it was like a palace

  36. cusi77 says:

Nice to hear from you Michelle! I had a candle light for the best for you today!

Yes, impressive mansion! Me too I thought that the best of this episode that Camille did not appear as much as last episodes… I pity her… I think she is insecure and a not totally there in her head. Teresa is malicious (and pernicious.lol)

  37. cusi77 says:

Many years ago my ex invited a friend from his childhood to meet in a blind date with my cousin. I did not knew the friend and when we arrived my husband (kidding) introduced my cousin as his wife and me as the cousin….. OMG! The friend hold my hand and said “let’s go to dance” (we were in front of restaurants, discos, etc.) and we started laughing letting him know who I was. He looked at my cousin and said “let’s go have dinner”… The reaction of Martin when he saw Taylor and thought it was Kim remind me that embarrassment…

  38. TLM says:

The Nassifs and the Armstrongs have such bad marriages, it is more disturbing than entertaining for me to watch anymore.

Adrienne can say “it’s just a joke” all she wants, but all I truly see is that she can barely stand the sight of her husband. The constant disdain she has for her husband is very much real. There is no affection there. Everything about him irritates her. I don’t think it’s a joke, nor normal for all couples married 8 years to do that. Paul tries to play it cool, but I do think he’s very nervous. He wanted to be there during her photo shoot, and she clearly had not wanted him to come.

I was surprised at Paul’s getting her a dog for their anniversary, but it seemed like Adrienne used the dog as an excuse not to hug or kiss Paul, and focus instad on her new pet, glossing over any intimacy with her husband. The rest of the evening was devoted to playing with the dog. Her comments about dogs not talking back and being loyal showed what was on her mind.

I was REALLY pissed that this dog was brought from Germany, with all the wonderful shelter dogs here that need homes. You can find almost any breed through a rescue group. I find it really revolting that they put an animal through hours of air travel, which is a stress on them, not to mention expensive. They could have adopted several dogs here from shelters for that money, or donated that money to a shelter.

    Now to the Armstrongs.

When Taylor said her marriage was 80% business in the first episode, it didn’t come as a shock that her marriage was going to suck on the show. I would say that it “deteriorated,” but I don’t think it even started out well. If I can quote Bruce Jenner (scary, I know). That is that when you’re dating someone, it’s as good as it’s ever going to get. That’s the time people are on their best behavior, right? These two started out bad from the start. I was really shocked that Taylor thought things would actually get better on their own, or that she didn’t know that you need a good foundation BEFORE getting married. Or that she didn’t think it was ok for her to want a partner to be there for her unconditionally. When she spoke to Kyle, she sounded like a 16-year old. Where to begin??? This woman needs a good therapist.

Her husband, aka the one with the personality of a hedge, barely changed his expression upon learning his daughter was allergic and his wife was crying because she would now have to tell her the puppy had to be taken away, all because this ass just did what he wanted to do in blatant disregard of his wife’s wishes. He didn’t care that his kid would need shots or pills. He didn’t care that his wife was crying. He didn’t care that he betrayed his original promise to her not to get a dog. He just said he didn’t want to get rid of the dog.

I remember watching the Vegas episode where Taylor and Russell were dancing (well, in Russell’s case, moving, anyway). And Taylor said something very telling in the voiceover: “This is a big deal, because my husband didn’t even dance at my wedding.” Huh? Wouldn’t most people say, “My husband didn’t dance at OUR wedding”? You were both there. after all. My sense is that that impromptu statement reflected how Taylor has felt for the duration of this relationship: that she may be married, but she is very much alone.

    • TLM says:

Sorry for the typos and almost run-on sentences above. I wish this program allowed us to go back in and edit! I can barely keep my eyes open.. heading to bed now.

      • Adgirl says:

I too wished there was an edit option! While writing, I often go back and change tenses or other things and because I’m in a hurry I push “post” and then my posting looks ridiculous. 🙂

I am married to a Russell.
You have to accept and rejoice in the type of person you marry. If he’s a nerd you will have lengthy factually based discussions, not teary “emo” moments with rose petals. Taylor, you pursued a nerd. And you landed him. Now you are sad that he doesn’t give a crap about silly things. He doesn’t act like a romantic kind of man. No Sh!t.
Taylor, in your convo with Russell about the dog you basically said “the dog has to go” and Russell checked out. Obviously, he thinks you are using the rashes to get rid of his gift to Kennedy. He wanted to connect with his daughter. They both like dogs. You have help around the house (paid for by Russell) so deal with the rashes, deal with the self contained husband. Stop injecting things into your face or whining about your marriage.

You and Russell are grownups. I’ll bet he loves you deeply but doesn’t understand why you starve yourself. He wants a happy wife but can’t figure out WTF to do to make you happy.

You cut him out of herd Oklahoma girl now keep him.
        Enjoy his pencil protector dweebness!!

        • California35 says:

I didn’t see it from that angle before. “Taylor, you pursued a nerd. And you landed him. Now you are sad…” like when someone wants to catch this hot popular person who goes out a lot, only to later complain about it because you rather stay home and not be around with so many people. Hallo you knew this about him, and you made the moves why are you expexting something different? (I’m saying it to Taylor). I know that maybe he should make an effort but maybe he has or has no idea, who knows. The point is that she is the one who pursued him and now she wishes he was different.

        • JKW says:

Funny thing is the Dr didn’t ask about the dog breed. Just from seeing it on the show it looks like one of the hypo allergenic breeds. They are the one with hair that grows. Perhaps Kennedy is allergic to something in the grass and it gets on her when she holds the dog. If she is allergic to dogs she is probably allergic to other things.

          • I agree w/ you JKW- i thought the same thing when she was in w/ the Dr.
I,too, am highly allergic to dogs and thought
Kennedys’ symptoms were suspect. But I really
don’t believe Taylor would make it up.

            on another note,
@TLM where do you get the energy and how
long does it take you to type all that!! you must be exhausted! I love reading your posts.

        • quincyil says:

I think Taylor wanted to marry big money. I think that the person failing in that marriage is the one complaining.

          • Zipit Zarin says:

I wondered why she can’t just get a “dog nanny” and not have to deal with it. And I agree with Adgirl about, well, everything. It looks like Taylor pretty much gets every material thing she wants ..$60,000 for a 4 year old’s birthday party that was really for herself. Loved when the producers played the part where the band was playing the song for the kid and she was cringing wanting to get out of there and the lyrics were “you are as pretty as your mom”…cut to Taylor preening. Gag me! The only thing the kid (can’t remember her name, sorry) enjoyed was the dog and now mom is determined to take it away from her come hell or high water. I say use something else to win a power struggle with your husband besides the dog your daughter loves. How selfish can you get Taylor? Ugh, makes my stomach hurt.

        • Blue Sky says:

It’s a simple test to see if the daughter (Kennedy? that’s her name? ) is really allergic to the dog. I say keep the dog and dump Taylor! Her lips are so distracting I can’t look at the TV when she talks. And give the girl a better name, please. Or nickname. Wasn’t Taylor a dead president as well? Oh yes, Zachary Taylor. 1848…

        • Kansas Girl says:

I agree. It looks to me like Russell loves his wife and can’t figure out what’s going wrong. He’s asked questions of the other married men and said he’s going to follow their advice. It seems to me he’s trying. He also seems emotionally limited, at least in what he’s able to show. I agree, she wanted this, she married this, so stop complaining or just admit you changed your mind. Poor Kennedy, the pawn.

        • Scorpiosue1102 says:

Totally agree with you. This is how Russell is. He isn’t mean, he’s just very calm and staid.

Taylor and Kyle’s conversation was very telling too. How is Russell supposed to know what to do when Taylor does not tell him what she needs/feels? He can’t guess at it. I think it’s wonderful to see the loving relationship that Kyle has with Mauricio, Taylor needs to work with what she has rather than want what Kyle has. All relationships are different. Adapt I say.

Lastly, real quick, I love Lisa. The things that come out of her mouth crack me up.

    • error404 says:

OMG TLM you are too funny!

Adrienne and Paul are truly absurd! In the midst of one of the worst economic crisis the country has ever seen, they choose to go on Tv for no other reason than to flaunt their ridiculously shallow wealth. Everything about their chavy life is disgusting and grotesque, and the spare-no-expense dog that just so happens to look exactly like the one they already have fit right in.

How did you handpick this one thing? But once you start, where does it end? The private on-call chef who prepares delicacies that Adrienne refuses to eat while other struggle to buy food? The house bigger than a European royal palace for a short couple with two small kids while others go homeless? The framed designer wedding dress the value of which could probably feed an entire 3rd world nation for a year? The dog? Seriously? Why didn’t they get a rescue dog? LOL

      • TLM says:

I was most concerned about the dog, because it’s an issue close to my heart. Interesting that both bad-marriage stories involved a new dog as a gift!! Rescues strongly warn against giving pets as surprise gifts. Many of these poor animals will ultimately be given up to a shelter, where they will be euthanized. Please, PLEASE, this holiday season, do not give pets as surprise gifts. On the other hand, if you know you are ready for a pet and the long-term commitment it demands, please visit your local shelters and Petfinder.com instead of a pet shop. You can find almost any breed through Petfinder and the rescue groups who post there!

    Hi everyone,

Lynn thanks for the blog. I didn’t watch it yet, but enjoyed your blog. I watched the NY Top Chefs only, so you can can say my favorites are Fabio, Carla and Jamie. The reason I watched the season is because of Fabio. He has a restaurant near by, so when I found out he would be in I watched. Not only that, but also I watched the premier in his restaurant. It was exciting to be there, everyone was happy to see it and he was there. Any ways, I continue watching and loved the show. I even liked the judges because they were not cruel (like in the other contestant shows). I have this season on DVR to make sure I watch and I am glad you will be posting about it.

Quincy I forgot to thank you for the MM blog, and now for the ghost/HWA. You wre very good, and I enjoy reading from you.

Andy’s psuedo southern accent is getting on my nerves. Do people from St. Louis, MO talk like that?

      • quincyil says:

Actually, yes. Many Missourians have a tinge of a Southern Accent and Andy sounds just like them. Missouri was not a part of the South in the Civil War, but it had farms with slaves and the people there fought with the Southern Armies.

        • Kansas Girl says:

Many of the early Missouri settlers were from Kentucky (think Daniel Boone’s contemporaries) and Tennessee, so yes Missouri leans south in many aspects. To me, Andy sounds mid-western, just like so many people I know.

Quincy, if you ask most people here in Kansas, Missouri was part of the south! Quantrill and all. There is a theory here that the Civil War actually started in Kansas!

          • quincyil says:

Quincy IL and Hannibal, Mo. went to war with each other during the conflict. They would cross the river and attack. The children of Missouri slaves live here too. I know the Clay family. Well, I am friends with the Black side of the Clay family. I just had a coversation with someone who was White and grew up across the river. It seems the people have not grown as quickly as the rest of the nation. Just telling the truth.

            • MoDee says:

Missouri was definitely a divided state, plus we had people taking things into their own hands with the Jayhawkers and the Bushwackers (not that I was there. )

I have to disagree with you about Missouri not growing as quickly as the rest of the nation. We have all the same oppurtunities as everyone else, we just sometimes choose not to utilize them. That’s what gives us our Midwestern charm…LOL

      • JazzNightOut says:

Thank you both, Quincy and Kansas, for information I did not know. So I am going to rephrase my comment to read: Andy’s voice is starting to get on my nerves.

    • Zipit Zarin says:

Adrienne’s face looked different. Anyone else think she had more surgery? And everyone on that show guards their answers to questions so it’s pretty much pointless to even ask them. Except Bethenny. She was honest and funny to boot.

      • TLM says:

I think Adrienne’s face keeps looking more and more surreal, kind of like Joan Rivers. I keep wanting to know what she looked like before any of it started. I get the sense she might have been very attractive. Her face looks like a drag queen on Predisone.

  41. lillybee says:

The Obama’s solved the problem of having allegic children. They got a Portugese water dog. A poodle would work. The only time I have seen Kennedy happy was when she was with that dog. I hope they get her another.

    • quincyil says:

I haven’t watched it yet. Did Taylor diagnose the allergy herself?

      • Zipit Zarin says:

She said she took her to a doctor but how much you want to bet she paid him to say that. lol I’m mean.

        • Kansas Girl says:

I wondered that too. Like she suggested allergy and the doctor went with that. The doc said he was 100% sure, and that seems much with only visual evidence.

I thought it seemed the doc gave her very little advice beyond lose the dog. He needed to talk about long-term effects and other options. They need to know whether doing nothing will desensitize her or if her allergy will develop into more, the long-term effects of medicine, etc. I’m sure he’s a real doc and I hope more was said, but it seemed more like a visit to Dr. Drake Ramory (the doc Joey played on Friends) than an actual medical professional.

          • TLM says:

LOL @ Dr. Drake! I’ll never forget the Courtney Cox quote, “Rachel, it’s a world where Joey is a neurosurgeon./” 😉

  42. boston02127 says:

Good morning. I wrote this post last night but I fell asleep before I posted it.

Hi Everybody, I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all the love, prayers and support that all of you have given me. It’s been a tough couple of days and today when I got home I had some quiet time to sit & read the blogs. Thank you all so much. I am getting so much support from my family. My aunt and uncle came with me today to make arrangements. Because today is Thursday the wake will be on Sunday and the funeral will be on Monday. I couldn’t arrange anything earlier because the announcement has to go in the newspaper tomorrow and we can’t have a funeral on a Sunday at our church.

After that was taken care of my aunt came with me to pick out flowers. I got light pink hydrangeas with different types of small flowers in the bouquets. I also got a small heart shape wreath in light pink tiny roses. On the ribbon it’s going to read ‘my very best friend’. Since I was small I’ve always put that on notes and cards to my mother. My grandparents arranged the mercy meal at a restaurant. All the tables are going to have the light pink hydrangeas on them too. I think it will look pretty.

Also, the funeral director gave me a large thick white board to put home pictures on. When I get that done and bring it back to him, he puts it in a pretty frame and then on an easel. I’m going to pick out pictures tonight. I also have to pick out songs for the Mass. I have a couple now. Be Not Afraid is one and Angel by Sarah Mclachlan. I need three more. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

It’s been a busy day, my aunt even took me to Marshall’s for a good outfit & a long coat. By four today we were both so tired and realized we hadn’t eaten all day. There’s been so much to do (I never realized) but I have a lot of support that I’m so thankful for. I wanted everyone here to know I’m thankful for you guys too. The support & love and all the kind words have been beyond kind. Thank you so much for this blog Lynn.

      Hi Boston,
I’m so sorry for your loss. I am a few years older than you and I lost my father very suddenly a couple years ago. Although I have lost many other relatives there is something very profound about losing a parent.

Someone once said to me that when a person passes away the relationship never ends, and it’s true. You will dream about her, and laugh at fond memories and even find yourself still getting annoyed at times.

Try to sleep and eat something if you can. Allow yourself to go on autopilot.  Take care and ask those around you for what you need, don’t try to carry it on your own.

      Sending you my best.

Dear Boston, So glad to hear that you have people surrounding you and taking care of you. I lost both of my parents in a very short span of time. The grief does ease but be very gentle with yourself over the next few months. Your emotions will be up and down, back and forth and that’s okay. You will probably want to rest a lot. Outside support is so helpful and I’m sure that all of the friends that you’ve made on this blog will be helpful in providing you with TLC. Take care! My thoughts are with you……..

Sending warm hugs to you today, Boston.

Your song choices for Mass are beautiful. Do you know the song Sing to the Mountains? (I’m not sure that’s the name–we always sang it at Mass and in school). The words are: Sing to the mountains, sing to the seas, raise your voices, lift your hearts, this is the day the Lord has made, let all the earth rejoice.

It’s a really pretty song, but an older one.

    • Blue Sky says:

Dear Boston, a beautiful song would be “Ave Maria.” Glad to hear you are coping well, don’t forget to take care of yourself & lean on your kind relatives.

    • JazzNightOut says:

Dearest Boston: I send you love and prayers; I have no words of wisdom that are sufficient when one loses a mother. When I lost mine, I felt unprotected like something that had been around me for all my life was gone, and I was without that buffer. I remember a hymn that we sang for both my Mom and Dad, and I don’t know the name of it. Some of the words are: “And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun and hold you in the palm of His hand.”

      Sending you love.

      Hi Boston,
I am so sorry for your loss. My husband and I helped our sister-in-law plan my brother-in-law’s funeral last March, and I never realized how much there is to plan for a funeral, there is so much to do! I pray for you to have strength to get through it all.

Just wanted to give some suggestions for music, as I’ve been a pianist/organist at Mass for years and years. Be Not Afraid (as previously mentioned) is a good choice….I Am the Bread of Life, The Strife is O’er, Prayer of St. Francis, A Banquet is Prepared are good options too (not sure if your parish would have these songs in the hymnals as I am in Canada, but surely the same hymns are sung in the States too?)

Blessings to you and to your family! Take care.

@Boston, I know you don’t know me like some of the other ladies, but am so sorry for your loss. Sadness and grief are for those left behind, and you have to handle it the way only you know how to do, not how somebody else says you should handle it. God be with you.

My personal favorite song is from MercyMe – “I Can Only Imagine”, its beautiful and stands the test of time.

One general comment about the recaps and comments for this season of Top Chef. We’ve got two different Dales, a Tiffany and a Tiffani. We may need to start using a last name or initial of some of them lest we start confusing chefs!

Hi Lynn, If I haven’t told you before “Thank you!” for the awesome blogs.

I am so happy about Top Chef All Stars that I could do the Snoopy-Happy-Dance!
I love every single contestant on the show (some more than others) and I can’t wait to see who wins! I don’t want anyone to be sent home. Ever.

    Boston:
Good to hear there are loved ones around you helping with some decisions. It sounds like your mother had a wonderful relationship with all in her family and Im sure she would appreciate the love and support they are giving her loving special dear one, you. I have been thinking and praying for you and yours.
Ave Marie is a favorite of mine. Also Josh Grobin has a song, “To where you are”. Did she have a favorite singer or song?
There are so many good posts above, but I especially loved the one from Katie. Wonderful suggestions and words to consider…

A number of us follow real estate transactions and love looking at those homes. Mohammed Hadid created the 55,000,000 million dollar mansion in 18 months. He is “the” mansion builder in LA. This was a one of a kind French mansion with gardens to match. There is a gym and a 20 car garage. Someone rich from Indonesia purchased the house right after they filmed and Mauricio brokered the deal. I think that Mauricio must be a very big shot in LA realestate. Camille seems to have had no impact on his career.

If someone could drag this link to the new blog later, I would appreciate it. I have to finish some things at work, then go to work at a huge fundraiser. Thank you.

      Thanks for the link quincy!

I love how Kyle and Mauricio have a down to earth relationship. They seem so normal like Alex and Simon.

Camille is quickly going to find out how little power she has without her name being tied to Kelsey’s. I have a feeling she’s going to be swallowing her pride and apologizing to a lot of people once the divorce is over.

  48. AZ Girl says:

Last night episode of BH was great. The fact that Camille was shown at a minimum was a relief. She is getting difficult to watch.
I really felt bad for Kim’s choice in what she wore to the dinner. Russell did not wear a tie which I thought was a little casual.
I think Taylor is over-reacting to Kennedy’s allergies. There are shots and other remedies to cure the allergic reaction to the dog. Russell’s reaction to Taylor about Kennedy’s allergies is really more like “why can’t this women deal with anything?”
I am with Russell on this.

Watching Kyle and Taylor discuss Taylor’s marriage is a commercial for what NOT to do when it comes to plastic surgery. Taylor looks like a sad clown.

Good Observations AZ, I have a few too.

Why was Giggy Vanderpump at the dinner? As cute as he is they need to let him be a dog.

RE: Kim’s dress I think we may have seen the same one on Teresa or Tamara at one time…bad choice for that dinner.

RE: Kim’s brows. If she had them reshaped she wouldn’t look so sad all the time,

Adrienne I like her. Her tag ling is great & it suits her well. I agree that a house full of dogs would be great; full of unconditional love & if you have a staff to keep up with the shedding, why not?

And yes, it was good to have less of Camille shown.

BTW, Kyles house is on the market. Here’s the Vtour:

Great blog about Top Chef, Quincy IL. Thanks for doing such a great detailed blog. I loved it.

I felt Fabio didn’t mind the criticism – constructive or otherwise. As he said, it was wrong to laugh at him or deride him.

Real Housewife Teresa Giudice’s Possessions To Be Auctioned, Worth Only $51,160

Bankrupt Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice’s possessions are set to be auctioned off later this month despite her legal protests, but the reality star shouldn’t expect to cover her massive $11 million debt with the proceeds.

RadarOnline.com, citing bankruptcy papers filed in court, reports that Giudice and husband Guiseppe’s possessions were itemized and found to be worth just $51,160. That included the couple’s wedding rings – valued at $120 each.

After declaring bankruptcy earlier this year, Giudice famously went on a $60,000 home furnishings shopping spree, though given the valuations of her possessions, the spending was misguided.

    • Need a Hobby says:

I saw that HuffPo article today. There’s absolutely nothing newsworthy about it as far as I can tell: it’s actually old, outdated info.

Radar online, which this article cites but does not link to, does not have any new story on the bankruptcy. Which is probably why the HuffPo story doesn’t include a link: there’s nothing relevant to the HuffPo article on radaronline that isn’t a month old or more. The valuation of the Gs possessions was months ago, the auction was indeed called off by the trustee in October, and it looks like a private auction is in the offing.

The more recent activity was the G’s attorney explaining why the G’s should receive bankruptcy debt discharge: because the G’s have kids and it would hurt them if the G’s had to pay what they owed. It’s like someone killing their parents and then asking the court for mercy on the grounds that they’re an orphan. It’s insulting to those who live within their means and don’t expect a free ride.
