I Hate Jill Zarin Tuesday Update

I Hate Jill Zarin Tuesday Updates December 28, 2010

Another week of Bravo reruns to look forward to, I guess even Andy Cohen needs a vacation. He will air a New Year’s Eve special featuring Kim Zolciak singing. Did Bravo really think that would draw viewers? If I never hear that woman sing again it would be too soon so I will most likely skip seeing Lisa’s dog and Tamra Barney on New Year’s Eve. The commercials for the show are just creepy too.

Bravo has finally announced that The Real Housewives of New York will return in February, the tiny previews have aired showing very little but do confirm that the ladies went to Morocco, not really news as Sonja confirmed that as well when I interviewed her. There is a scene in which Sonja is scolding someone that appears to be Alex but we know how Bravo likes to fool us so it could also be Sonja telling Alex what she said to someone else. It certainly does make me want more of the New York Housewives now!

I want to apologize for missing last week’s Top Chef All Stars blog, I still haven’t seen the entire episode but I did catch bits of it and I’ve of course read Anthony Bourdain’s blog, that is a never miss blog.

http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef/season-8/blogs/anthony-bourdain
What I do know is that Tre won immunity during the Quick Fire and the chefs were broken into two teams to cook for guests at the US Open Tennis Tournament for the elimination challenge.

The Quick Fire challenge forced the chef’s to prepare a dish without using any of their tools, no knives, no spoons, nothing at all. Fabio described it as forcing a surgeon to perform an operation using only his fingers. That may be a bit overdramatic since no lives were at stake and Fabio’s clever use of the steel shelves to grate his cheese may have seemed brilliant to Fabio but Chef Bordain wasn’t nearly as impressed, apparently the germs and bacteria that linger there could have made someone sick.

It is extremely frustrating to viewers, as I’m sure it is to the contestants that Jamie continues to linger as a participant who isn’t doing any cooking. Best I could tell, Spike had a strategy to put Jamie’s dish up against the other team’s first dish but Jamie refused to play along because she wasn’t happy with her dish and so produced nothing to be judged.

This competition has now lost Jen, Spike, Elia, Stephen and Dale while Jamie has slid by without even presenting dishes to the judges for two of the four elimination challenges. Something has got to be done to change the rules of this competition. Clearly for an All Star season Jamie should have been eliminated for walking out of the kitchen when she cut her finger. Similar to someone becoming ill or having a family emergency, if they leave the competition for any reason they need to go home. Had the judges eliminated Jamie during that challenge, we would still have the talented but somewhat crazy Jen in the competition and the US Open Challenge may have turned out differently.

I never thought that Spike would win the whole thing but this man has changed since his first appearance on Top Chef, his exit interview is worth a look:

http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef/season-8/videos/spike-got-served

Spike has matured, he’s gracious and even gave Jamie the benefit of the doubt. A lesser man would have been bitter and lashed out at Jamie. He also noted that the money he won on the show will be donated to charity.

I loved to see Carla winning this challenge. The other contestants seem to look at her as a mediocre chef and this should change all of that. Carla has now earned their respect and they realize she’s a force to be reckoned with. Hooty Hoo!

The remaining chef’s, Antonia, Marcel, Casey, Tiffany D, Tiffany F, Richard, Mike, Jamie, Fabio, Dale T, Carla and Angelo.

The Russian Spy of the competition, Angelo really does seem to be trying to help. Sometimes I think he tries too hard to be helpful and with his heart in the right place, he just goes overboard and wants to feel like he’s added to other’s dishes. What is happening, in fact, is that he’s infusing his own tastes into other’s dishes and if they fail it looks like he’s trying to sabotage his competitors. I don’t think that anyone truly believes that but Angelo isn’t doing himself any favors by attempting to help the others. He did win the first two challenges and could certainly be in the final two.

Marcel certainly has a shot at winning this whole thing, I think he came dangerously close to beating Ilan during his first attempt at winning Top Chef, it seems as though the judges chose the more mature of the two finalists. He hasn’t really shone yet but he hasn’t screwed up yet either, Marcel seems to be pacing himself.

Antonia could be the dark horse here, she is no doubt a talented chef and did seem to be eliminated a bit early during her first appearance on the show. She certainly has a shot at going all the way to the finale.
I think that Mike Isabella could be the next to go, he seems to have been sliding through in the middle of the pack and honestly, and I’m not sure why he was chosen for the All Star season. His cocky attitude seems to have lightened up a bit because it certainly had no place up against his first competitors. Mike was initially up against the brilliant chef’s Michael, Bryan and Kevin last time and he really just looked foolish trying to match up to them. It could be that he’s a better chef than he seemed just due to the company he was in during season six.

I have never been a fan of Tiffany F, she was rude and crude during season one and while she seems to have lightened up a bit, I don’t think she gives the other chefs the credit that they deserve. Tiffany has proven to be a talented chef but hasn’t proven to be a leader in the kitchen, not a chef who is respected and admired by her peers.

Tiffany D of Season Seven surprised me when she said she thought that Angelo might possibly have been trying to sabotage dishes, I thought after last season’s reunion that had all been put to rest. She did admit that she didn’t believe Angelo did anything wrong in the end. Tiffany D is talented and could surprise her competitors by taking a few of these prizes along the way. I just love her attitude and her smile is infectious, I hope that she gives them all a run for their money.

Tre was definitely eliminated too soon during Season Three, I could have seen him in the finale with Hung, I really did believe that Tre was a better chef than Dale or Casey who outlasted him, we’ll have to see how he does in this challenge. Chef Tom seemed to imply that Tre may have been eliminated this week had he not had immunity. I really want to see Tre stick around a while longer, besides being a good chef, he looks good too!

I like Fabio and I think he’s a great guy but I don’t think he’s going to be named Top Chef, he has little respect from his peers and I believe most have already counted him out. Another good looking contestant but probably not the best chef in the competition.

Dale T seems to have matured as well since his last appearance on Top Chef Season Four. Coasting along in the middle of the pack, Dale could be sent home sooner than later as well but we’ll have to wait and see.
I don’t think Jamie should even be there, for her own dignity, she should just drop out as Chef Ripert said in his video blog, and she is losing respect as a chef with each passing episode. Maybe Jamie should even look into another career, I wonder if she can type?

http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef/season-8/videos/she-should-just-go-home

It is difficult to predict a winner, even to predict a final two among these talented chefs, but if I had to choose, I would say Angelo will go far and Richard will be in the final two. What do you all think?

I hope you’ll take a moment to check out my latest “Portrait of a Housewife” series, here the latest one

yup, if Kim is singing I will NOT be watching…..seriously…..that is one train wreck I can look away from!

I would rather be cleaning up dog poop than watching/listening to Kim sing….

  2. Michele Shuster says:

    EWWW-Kim Z and Trashy Tamra-guess I’ll skip that one. Great blog–again!

  3. Bobbi says:

I’m planning to record Andy’s NYE show because I know there will be moments that will be fun. There are some people that are supposed to show that I enjoy. It almost means I can fast forward through things like Kim’s song. LOL!

Love Top Chef and cannot believe Jamie is still there. I don’t think they’ll ever change the rules to say that someone has to leave the show if they get injured and have to leave for a short while to have treatment. Accidents are too possible, you know?

Cannot wait for the new show where they’re cooking against Tom! It should be great!

    From last blog —
Good morning everyone, I made a short stop to say hi! I better not make more stops here so I can get the work done quickly. Next week is closing week…ouch next week will be a busy one so this week I need to close regarding payroll, PTO and bonus, and do the company cc reconsiliation. Okay, I am not the person who will close, really, but I am doing big part of the work so my boss can close…and we are short one person for these two week. This week, the office is not as crowded, so I hope do accomplish all I have in mind.

This morning I heard the news about Camille and Kelsy, the divorse is final and she got $50M. I heard it in the local news, I assume it is accurate. Good! they are done…now they can move on.

I will visit here later….have a lovely day everyone.

Thank you all for your well wishes 🙂

    • quincyillinois says:

50 million… Say she spends as much as Jill Zarin…around 2 million a year… Camille will be ok for about..30 years. She’s 47…she’ be 77…. She can go on Social Security then like the rest of us.

    • Had Enough! says:

Not yet. He has asked for bifurcation (divorce first, financial settlement later). Under California law, if his request is granted, he can be divorced six months after the petition was filed. So that would be January 1.

The financial settlement would come later.

He wants it bifurcated so he can marry #4 asap…which is really rather stupid on his part in terms of strategy. He is signaling to her that she now has leverage – if the court refuses to bifurcate, then she can prevent him from re-marrying until he gives her what she wants. Dumb move. And what is this rush to marry #4 anyway?

Today at 1:01 pm east coast time: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-20026690-10391698.html

      • Rabble Rouser says:

I bet Kelsey wants to get the divorce ASAP is that if Kayte is here on a visitor visa- she can only legally be in the US for 180 days. If they get married in that time, it’s possible for her to stay in the US while they process her Adjustment of Status to a marriage based visa.

But if she overstays in the US for more than a year- without a visa then she will be subject to a possible (provided she/he doesn’t file a waiver and get it approved) 3 year ban.

If she leaves the U.S. and goes back to the UK and they file for a k1 visa, it can take about a year to approve.

If Camille is the vindictive type and she is, she will try to drag out the divorce until Kayte has to leave the US per customs and immigration law-which will cause them (Kesley and Kayte) a separation.

  5. jeang says:

The only part of the Andy preview I saw was enough to warn me off watching this hot mess. He was creepily dancing around Kim Z. ewww…….enough….enough!!!

  6. Smompy says:

I know this is weird, but I’m actually looking forweard to watching Kim sing again. I find her endlessly entertaining. Don’t get me wrong. The woman is a total P.O.S., I realize that. She has no talent, nor intelligence, nor social graces, nor anything else that’s desirable, admirable or good. Maybe that’s why I enjoy watching her though. She’s so completely bereft of any decency and so consistently dreadful in every aspect of human behavior that I find her entertaining to watch. Kinda like a really cartoonishly bad soap opera villain. Plus her cluelessness makes me laugh. I’m a little bit ashamed of this, but it’s true!

I haven’t watched the last episode of Top Chef yet either, but I’m going to try to catch it at work this evening before the new epiosde airs. The BravoTV site doesn’t work very well with my outdated home computer. Anywho, I still don’t like Spike at all, so I was glad to know he got the boot. And this was even more true with Ella. Blech…cannot stand that Beyotch! I used to like Marcel (probably a reaction of sympathy at first) and then I started to hate him on his next appearance, but now I’m starting to like him again, oddly. My biggest surprise, though, is how much I’m liking Tifany this time around. She’s still basically the same contestant, but she is more mature and self-aware now, so I have much less trouble rooting for her. I’d like to like Jaine, I really would, only she makes that impossible. Why she acts the way she does, I don’t know. Why sign up in the first place? Anyway, they might as well send her ass home already. We all know she won’t win this thing. Now if my beloved Beaker actually won this competition, I could literally forgive all of Bravo’s bad choices over the last couple years and start watching the network with fresh eyes & a clean slate. I SERIOUSLY doubt this will happen, but one can hope, right?

    GO BEAKER – HOOTY HOO!
    🙂

$50 million? Why was EXTRA saying $120 million just a couple nights ago?? So much for the journalistic integrity of Mario Lopez, LOL.

If Camille can discipline herself to stay within $1 million a year (I assume that doesn’t include her child support), then she will be in good shape. But as phenomenally spoiled as she is, I have my doubts that she will be able to stick to any kind of budget. I predict that she’ll find a much older, wealthy man to marry next. She may think Nick is hot, but she must know that he doesn’t have the income stream she is looking for.

    • quincyillinois says:

When they figure the divorce settlement, the judge considers his previous commitment to other wives and mothers of other children. That is probably why Camille got only 50 million bucks. She lived quite well during those hard years of marriage so her reward seems just about right to me. I’m sure she would have loved to been in court for decades and kept him from his love, but the money should help her recover in time.

I really tried to discover how much the Countess and Kelly B got in their divorces, but it is not out there. Kelly’s Hamptom’s house was on the market and off the market and one of the times it was on, it was listed as belonging to Giles. I have a feeling Kelly is living on borrowed time and money.

I discovered through a friend’s divorce that the mortgage payment on a 3.6 million dollar mortgage in Vail, Colorado, is $44,000 a month. That is without upkeep and without that membership fee in the club for another 10,000 a month… I know..but you hobknob with movie stars…. so it’s costly.
You have to have an income around 2 million a year for basic needs there.

I know several women in Camille type of situations right now and I think she is wise to take the money, but not the 17 homes. Let Kelsey take the losses of selling those houses with this market.

      • buffywood says:

From what I can see the $50,000,000 number is simply the estimate of 1/2 of the net worth, with most of it in the form of Real Estate. “This means Camille will likely walk away with at least $50 million, a lot of which is tied up in properties across the country, from Hawaii to The Hamptons.”.

Like you said, she will need a shit load of cash flow (ok you put it nicer) to keep up the maintenance and taxes current before she can un-load any of these. And wow, in today’s market that could take a long time. Maybe using Kyle’s husband now is not looking too bad.

        • Blue Sky says:

Just had a thought…this is how Mauricio could have his revenge on Camille. Let’s say Camille gets a house or 2 in the Bev Hills/Malibu/LA area in her divorce settlement and she puts them on the market. Now Mauricio has lots of high end buyers…does he show Camille’s homes? If he does show them, does he point out flaws so that his buyer decides against purchasing? Only Mauricio will know for sure. Of course Mauricio is a very good realtor, & so if one of his buyers really wants to buy a house that Camille has listed (with her own listing agent of course lol) then Mauricio will sell it to them. Remember there is a realtor (listing agent) that represents the seller, and then the realtor that represents the buyer. The same realtor can represent both buyer & seller, if they get the opportunity & permission of the parties involved.

          • TLM says:

I don’t think he would waste his time trying to NOT make a sale. Any realtor I know will try to make a sale wherever they can.

            • Blue Sky says:

              As I wrote above:
“Of course Mauricio is a very good realtor, & so if one of his buyers really wants to buy a house that Camille has listed (with her own listing agent of course lol) then Mauricio will sell it to them.”

              You missed the point.

Of course he will make a sale. He’s a good realtor. The issue is that he can control what houses he shows to his buyers….and I’m sure his buyers value his opinion.

As a former realtor, I know how much power I had as a buyer’s agent. And I did make sales…lots of them. However, if another person was difficult to deal with, then I was not so keen on showing their listings. Of course, if my buyer wanted the house, then I sold it to them. But why piss people off & lose potential sales? Camille has pissed off lots of people. Good realtors, and smart people do not do that in a sales environment.

    • Had Enough! says:

They said there is a pot of $120 million at stake, i.e., that is how much is in the pot. Not what she would get.

      • TLM says:

I missed the actual segment on Extra, but on the teaser, Extra in typical sensationalist fashion had “$120 Million Divorce” on screen while Lopez said, “Camille Grammer talks about her $120 million divorce and her 1st Christmas without Kelsey.” They are deliberately vague to get you to tune in, I’m sure. Interesting debate as to whether she gets the homes or the proceeds from the homes.

The money necessary just to keep the lights on & maintain a mansion is crazy. That’s why I couldn’t understand why the Grammers owned so many homes. And they additionally had a staff for each of them. Kelsey has had a great career, but I didn’t think it was good enough that he could afford to keep all that going. It didn’t sound like any of their homes were bought as investment or rental properties, but who knows. Buffywood is right — alienating Mauricio probably isn’t a good idea since selling properties of that value requires good connections — it’s not quite the same as your usual MLS listings — and he deals with international buyers all the time. But as we’ve seen, these rifts are magically healed when everyone has a financial interest. If Camille has something to sell, Mauricio wants to sell it, regardless of what has gone before. Money always talks, and the reality is Camille and Mauricio both have an interest in getting the best price for her properties.

I think Camille fancies herself a real Hollywood film/tv producer, but I’d like to know who is going to hire her in that role. (I am assuming she is no longer an employee of Gramnet.) I just would cringe every time she would refer to “my staff,” kind of like DeShawn of Atlanta would do. I can see having an assistant. I can understand cleaning people for a large house. But how many people do women in this position honestly need to have on a payroll? Obviously most people thought that 4 nannies for 2 kids was ridiculous, but I suppose that will be covered under child support since Kelsey agreed to it all these years.

        • Rabble Rouser says:

I don’t think Kelsey’s career was/is strong enough to keep that all afloat either. Nick Cage makes MILLIONS of dollars a picture and is above Kelsey ‘in the pecking order’ and even he could sustain the lifestyle of owning multiple homes and outrageous spending.

Like I keep saying- I think most if not all of these housewife are cash poor and are in danger of losing it.

    • Jennifer Neehan says:

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like Camille, but I remember reading she was the financial mind in their marriage. Wasn’t Kelsey on the verge of bankruptcy when he married her and she did the real estate buying and selling and got the production company and all going? Might be interesting 10 years down the road to see who has big money and who doesn’t.

  9. Adgirl says:

How many millions will Camille get? Who knows. Who really cares (othere than Kelsey). She will get a bundle, we know that. They will be hashing it out for years. What they will argue about is how muach of the Fraser & Medium Drunk rerun $ and how many houses will she get, It’s boring. She is boring.
Wake me up after the Grammeer divorce is final and Kim Z has given birth. Yuck to both.

  10. lillybee says:

The reason Tre was up for elimination was because of his overcooked salmon. Angelo cooked that salmon. I was surprised that any chef would overcook salmon and wondered why Angelo made such a basic mistake.

  11. Need a Hobby says:

The Grammar’s divorce and financial settlement aren’t final yet. Even TMZ’s report, that other media outlets are parroting, says that they are still negotiating a financial agreement.

The estimated 50 mil comes from an estimated 100 mil made during the marriage.

    • California35 says:

I wondered why so fast….but it was on the news so I figured I would share the news (althought others had already done that, but I hadn’t read it yet).

  12. icantstandthetoxicity says:

I will skip Bravo’s New Years Eve Show. I am not interested in hearing Kim Z. sing AGAIN. I am going to watch Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper on CNN.

    • California35 says:

I am with you, I don’t think I will watch. If say Bethenny was in it, I WOULD watch…but that is a duuuh! 😛
I will watch Kathy Griffin 🙂

    • Blue Sky says:

Same here, looking forward to the crazy between Kathy Griffin & Anderson Cooper!!

  13. Adgirl says:

Top Chef All Stars is such a mixed bag.
Personally I hated the dinosaur museum kids episode. I was distracted looking for Peter among the dino-bones or wondering if Cynthia was going to jump out in a wedding gown. Oops. Wrong dino-reality venue. Nevermind.
I don’t think cooking for a group of children should be grounds for eliminating professional chefs. TC uses this gimmick too often.

Jamie is a slacker and it is bugging all of us because chefs that do care are going home while Jamie sulks behind cold soup and finger boo-boos. How come I never noticed during her regular TC season what a whiner she is? I was all about enjoying Stephano chasing her around while she rolled her eyes. That was hysterical. In personality they’d make a great couple – both jerks. Just don’t live in the next apartment because I bet they’d have screaming screaming fights all night.

I really like this year because I already know these chefs. I like them all. It’s a waste of their talent to have kiddie and breakfast meals for challenges.
So happy Carla won. She’s a scream.

  14. HD says:

What gets me about Top Chef is why in the world do they KEEP listening to Angelo?! He is your damn competitor! Would I like a competitor cook my damn dish?! Nooooooooooo!! They irk me with that! Angelo is not the Food God. Season, cook and plate your own stuff! Uhhhhhhhhhhh!

    • Adgirl says:

      What she said.

All of the competitors have been too polite to each other. Fool! Keep your damn hands off my food!

  15. quincyillinois says:

So let’s imagine a twitter site that radiated from this board. I imagine there would be riots in twitterdom as celebrities raced to their computers to block all of us. There would be black outs in NYC and NJ as so many Jill and Teresa fans flooded the internet with nasty tweets in our direction. In nine months, there would be a population explosion and that would be blamed on us too. (NJ and NY black outs always result in increased numbers of births. I don’t know why, but check it out if you don’t believe me.)

Jill Zarin’s Australian crusade of teens would form marching bands in cyberspace and they would set up night barrages of tweets as they never sleep when we are sleeping.
The Twitter people would not have the down time necessary to twink their computers so total system failure would take place after the first 72 hour period of our appearance on the site.

What might we tweet to the universe at large? We could share about Jill’s outfit for a reunion and if she should wear her hair up or down. We could discuss Kelly’s gifts of giving until it hurts (hurts mostly our cerebral cortexes.) Of course we would have to find consensus to come up with these statements. That’s going to be a challenge as we rarely have consensus. We can’t agree about the housewives, the weather, how to remove lint from our dryers, or certain Real City Housewives who may or may not be from Canada, eh? We can’t agree with our Supreme Leader, Lynn, not that we don’t want to agree, but there are a lot of independent thoughts around here. We will just have constant votes and take 2/3 like the US Senate when it deals with international agreements. WSL will not be allowed to buy votes with extra birthday parties in order to garner votes either. That would be wrong.

Someone here will have to actually read what the twitter world tweets to us. That’s going to be difficult to decide upon as so many of us really don’t care what they have to say. Can we design an out going tweet system and block everyone from tweeting back? It could be along the models of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

So… in the darkness of cyberspace, we build a light house to send flashes of wisdom in to the Kingdom of Tweets, but we ignore their response. Hmmm… why does this sound so familiar?

    • California35 says:

lol – you are funny 😛

      • quincyillinois says:

Why do people on both coasts get my humor when people along the Mississippi think I am very odd indeed?

        • California35 says:

Who are these Mississippians that you are talking about? Did I just make up a word there? lol

          • quincyillinois says:

That is a common word for people living in Mississipi. I live upstream a bit. Fortunately, I live above the connection of the Illinois River to the Mississippi so I don’t drink Chicago’s sewage overflow. We just get the overflow from the hundreds of small towns above us.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

          u r a hoot!

Do we tweet as one in this scenario? or are we all different tweeters? I seriously think this is a good idea.

Why not leverage this group of women to affect change?

there are some…err…detractors…that try to use their wily rodent powers for evil, why shouldn’t we use ours for good?

          • Had Enough! says:

          • quincyillinois says:

Shall we form an a capella choir or an all girls’ band? Well, if you give the pass word to everyone, I think there will be many voices. If one person holds the password, he/she or it will be the voice for the group. This calls for a board vote with a 2/3 majority. I think the all tweet would be more of a draw on the tweet planet resources which is perfectly ok with me.

          • quincyillinois says:

I like the idea of common sense on the internet. It’s a rare commodity. Can you imagine the impact of a (Greek) chorus tweet on the insanity that we know is out there?

It reminds me of sci fi movies, where all of the minds of a civilization of aliens are in the slimy mess of goo in a cave on a planet that just happens to be in the path of our explorers out for a day of sun and fun. You all might not want to actually be in my mind. It’s kinda scary.

            • quincyillinois says:

We should do it. The worse thing that could happen is we would get banned from the celebrity sites that you all are band from. I love the idea of group think. Twitter land is filled with individual thoughts. This could be civilization to the Wild West of Tweetdom. Tweetdom is called the Badlands of Cyberspace, right?

I think “balderdash” as a response should be employed with gusto. We should use big words so they have to go to a dictionary to translate our responses. It will change the face of education in America… and in Canada for any Americans who like to pretend to be Canadians like me.

            • Blue Sky says:

yeah that just about sums up twitter for me Q…slimy mass of ooze deep in the bowels of an alien planet lol!

The one thing I respect our pet moron for is having adopted a dog – though I don’t know if the other two were adopted or purchased. This country is awash in unwanted pets. There are so many shelters, rescue organizations, etc. – all filled to the max, all in dire need of money, supplies, and volunteers. And yet the animals are still being overproduced, purchased by people who aren’t capable of taking care of them for one reason or another, being abandoned…the reality is, according to the ASPCA, that:

Approximately 5 million to 7 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized (60 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats). Shelter intakes are about evenly divided between those animals relinquished by owners and those picked up by animal control. These are national estimates; the percentage of euthanasia may vary from state to state.

When shelters and rescue organizations let you adopt, they screen you and your home. Personally, I wouldn’t let Kelly Bensimon adopt a fuzzy slipper, much less a live animal, after seeing how irresponsible she is with her daughters. Driving in a convertible jeep with no seat belts and on the cell phone, driving on the LIE in a blizzard, etc. I also noticed in her photos that when she walks him on the beach, she doesn’t carry plastic bags to pick up the poop. But that just means she is a self-centered bitch. It doesn’t harm the dog. Overall, I have to admit that she seems to be doing a good job with the dog she adopted. She has him in training and she obviously loves him and takes good care of him. She is probably keeping half of lower Manhattan employed to train and walk the dog for her, but the dog is well cared-for.

So kadooz to her on this one.

      Both my dogs are rescues.

      • quincyillinois says:

My mom is 79 and her little dog is very old. I have already talked to animal control about finding her a new small dog. I think it helps here with exercise and she loves holding a small dog on her lap.

        • justanothermary says:

My dogs are rescues! My Tucker was going to be put down just because he’s ugly. He’s one of the biggest joys in my life and he’s worth a belly laugh a day. You can’t put a price on that. Besides, I think his crooked underbite is hysterical and he’s able to eat properly so there are no health issues, I wouldn’t trade either dog for some fancy pure breed from a kennel.

    • Mookies1mom says:

Every animal I’ve ever had has been a rescue. It breaks my heart to go to the shelter and not be able to take them all! But my two kitties now are the best a furry momma could hope for. I’ve adopted about 8 cats since I moved into my first apartment at 18. It breaks my heart when one passes, just ask my hubby, and I swear I’ll never adopt again. But when the time is right, I always feel like the one left behind needs a pal because they miss their buddy and I adopt again. Helps their spirits and ours.

      • sammyjoesmom says:

That sounds exactly like my kittie baby cycle. I now love having two babies. Related or not they always become just like brothers. I have only ever had males (nuetered).

    • buffywood says:

My big baby Jake (see Lynn’s photos) is a SPCA rescue. I knew the minute I saw him he was meant to come home with me. When it took 4 grown men to hold him still to give him his bordatella (sp?), and all he did was whimper like a baby I knew my instincts were right.

I figured a dog that type and size would either get adopted for the wrong reasons or wouldn’t get adopted at all. Man I love that dog. It’s funny, when the whole issue about Taylor’s child and the allergies came up I had to laugh a little. My boyfriend does have a slight allergy to the dog but he has never really asked to get rid of Jake… I think deep down in his heart he would be afraid of the answer if he ever asked “It’s me or the dog”.

Capricorn — Woo hoo! Sounds good 🙂
Here is your Daily Horoscope for Tuesday, December 28

You need to kick things off today, so make a point of showing others that you know how to lead. Someone close — maybe a colleague — lets you know that your direction is important to them.

Woo hoo! Sounds good 🙂 It is hard to lead here, when I work with “alphas” lol. To work between two departments can be weird. Both managers (Accounting and HR) decided to have me work on a project that affects both. They both were in agreement, the funny part is how they both have diferent ways of doing things. HR wants me to spend all this time doing it one way (not bad, just takes for ever), I realized that, and when the Accounting Manager kept coming in with other things for me to do once I finish that project, I didn’t know how to tell him. I tried, but he had to go and didn’t hear me. So finally just before he went to lunch, came to my desk while the HR manager was here and noticed what we were doing. I am sooo glad he noticed because he realized it will take a long time and gave her sugestions on what I should do to speed up the process. I soooo agree with him, and I had told her that…but it came from him so she agreed. sigh The original plan between he and I was that I would come today to do the credit card reconsiliation first….I haven’t even started that…I knew it wouldn’t be a short day or week (winter break weekend). As someone here mentioned before, I do get paid hourly with over time…so I am not sad about it. The problem is when one side doesn’t know what the other side expects of me. Then I have to tell each one, and deal with back and forward….Okay, everyone got to go….

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

who has more power in your organization? Sounds like your accounting guy has your back- maybe form an alliance with him, in a very professional way without ever ever badmouthing Ms. HR (NEVER get on HR’s bad side!)

      – try not to get any direction given verbally- ask that they both send an email to you for requests and tell them it’s so you can stay more organized.
What you are really doing is documenting what you are told, and cc both of them on any emails you send back to them

ie: ” Karen, thank you for taking the time to explain the reconciliation reports to me. Jim had asked that they all be done on the 1st and 15th, are we all in agreement on that? Please advise.”

I learned to CYA a long time ago, and if you saw the size of my A you would understand how difficult it is! LOL ( I do amuse myself)

      • California35 says:

Thanks OneMoreinBoston, they are at it again…ugh

        • California35 says:

The thing is that the HR person doesn’t have sence of time 😛 I don’t want to get into her at the moment, she is a good person and works hard, but after all I wrote you guys earlier that she agreed to what the Accounting manager said. She still tried to do the other way, she would tell me as I was working on one item, to do her way, then the next one. I was like hay here we go again…when I did and the result was the same one I already had, I tolg her that I will just continue on the way the other manager said. She was disapointed and told me all the reasons it would be better to do it her way. I listened and sympathise with her…but then I said in a nice way that I will proceed (not saying which way). Then she said she would go talk to the other manager. that is when I said that “they are at it again”. She came back telling me a THIRD way to do it….I could have been done by now. After I did what she told me and it still gave us the same result, she just kept doing what she was doing. I came back here to distract myself a bit before I do something. Sorry I am writing as things happen. This is why I get fustrated here, THANK GOD I don’t have to deal with the rest of the usual work becasue of the winter break week many are out today….other wise I would be going crazy!!!! or should I say crazzziiiieeerrr!!!

Signing out – I got to figure this thing out…

          bye

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

hmm…so she has the power then.

Who do you report directly to? Or do you get “lent” out?

Why is the HR dept involved with reconciliation, which is an accounting function? Unless your company is a temp agency or deals with freelancers or 1099’s?

            odd.

sounds like you might be caught in a power struggle between 2 departments

            • California35 says:

Picture this October 2006, sorry I had a golden girl moment. I was hired to assist both departments plus help “around the office” There was no HR person at all – so the controller was my boss…but washed his hands regarding HR. There were not that many people then, bu I seemed to assist everyone. The company is of computer engineers, and I did all the interview and travel planing then the hiring that doubled the size of the conqpny, all while doing some accounting.(entering and paying invoicing, POs, comp cc reconciliation). Everything was done in a hurry but done correctly and withno supervision. Then we got a new CEO with an assistant, then added a CFO and finally this HR person was hired and it took her TWO months to talk to me, in the mean time the CFO who became the Controller and my boss told me that my boss will continue to be the Controller and to only help the new HR person IF she asked me, but to feel free to give her my feedback. She didn’t take my feedback ever and made it clear that she would be the HR person. Long story on and on, I figured her it and stayed away finally getting along better. The problem was that I felt left out, but I adjusted. Also noticed that the poor lady was going crazy with so much work, but never taking my help. This company needed some more controll and help, but she was not giving charge. A few months ago, the VP of HR was hired and I again got hopefull (like when the first HR person was hired), but she is now leaving. Both of them came with their own ideas to improve things here, I’m sure, but the one I was talking about today, just says things about so much work, but does it in her own way and is atill here, the VP is giving up.
On a separate note, she complained that they had no help in HR – so I got in the line because I was supposed to help them. I do but only with a few things. My boss called me in to tell me in not a nice way, so I was devestated for a while. I told him that I did try to help, but I wasn’t giving the opportunity. It sounds to me like they tried to get permisin to hire more help, but didn’t get it. Only to add more resentment tours me. Neither of them told me anything, they had the controller tell me. From then on, things got too dificult – but after a long talk with the controller I began giving him weekly reports and began offering to help the HR again. Still not taken, but then later they would come to give me things to do. The other thing they didn’t like about me was that I would come to work at 9 ( that wasn’t a problem before ) because I would leave after 6 all the time. They didn’t know that I guess. The controller never cared and even when I would bring it up before, he would tell me that he knew me, and knew u was here late, etc so no problem. So…when this VP person had complains, my boss could have just tell her our arrangements (maybe he did), but he was very short with me… And had Bern ever sence.

I feel like I gave out TMI but also felt like the more info the more you would understand. I am writing now after finally finishing that project. If I’m suppposed to work only 8 hours I should leave very soon, but that won’t hapen.

            • California35 says:

It was PTO reconsilition and bonus. Also she had been doing payroll until someone told her give it way so I could do it.

              • OneMoreInBoston says:

hmm, this is a lot to digest.

But reading between the lines, it seems like there is turnover at the top positions because there are power struggles.

I’m surprised you got into trouble for not helping out HR when HR would never take your help. I wonder if maybe HR blamed you to the controller for her falling behind? She sounds like she cannot delegate because she is afraid of losing power to you.

my gawd, girl, you were doing ALOT, and you are working with a tough bunch of people, computer engineers are not known for their warm and friendly dispositions.

No wonder this lady is threatened by you! You’re like Super Woman.

Just out of curiosity- what time do they want you there if 9:00 doesn’t work for them?

                • California35 says:

He told me to be in between 8 and 8:30. I still leave after 6. I used to work from 8:00 to 7:30…until one day I gave up and started coming in later, but still leaving late. Finally after a long time of long hours. I began 9 to 6, with a few days of 7. Now it feels like I have to prove when I stay late, but leaving at 6 there is a fell of guilt because they stay later. They (the ladies) come to work at 8 or 7:30 and stay late. Again, I had offered but gave up. Some times they would give me the puppy eye look because they are staying behind. I don’t know it is something that I have tried to work out. After my boss told me to come earlier and ask them if they need help, I am coming to work between 8 and 8:30, lunch breaks are unheard off, because I eat at my desk all the time. I feel that if I began taking my full hour lunch that would bring issues also.
Thanks for saying that 🙂 a few people used to say that about me… a fewer bunch still do. I know everyone in the company by name, and I I talk to everyone. When you guys talked about engineers, I kept wanting to jump in regarding some things. I got used to them, they are all very nice although many don’t seem like it. They demand and very few say please and thank you, the way I was okay with it was thinking that the faster I took care of them the faster they would be gone from my desk 😛 I dealt more with them while doing the hiring. By the way the company tripled in size. So I only did the hiring (or helping with it)for about 50 employees and a aquicision. Later there were fewer hires plus two more aqucitions, that I had nothing to do with.
I did feel like that first HR person wanted to prove she could do it, the sad part is that she could have still have done it. We both could have done great together becuase she is a hard worker. We could have complemented each other, but oh well. I always thought that she and the controller are opposites, and I am in the middle…and take direction very well. She prefered to do everything on her own, the few times she included me on something it was becasue she was told to do so, our managers couldn’t babysit for ever.

                  • OneMoreInBoston says:

                    Wow.
And I thought I was a hard worker.

You are a huge asset to this dysfunctional company, and I would hire someone like you in a heart beat.

You are not failing them. They are failing you.

                    • California35 says:

Thank you for saying that!!!! A while back some HR person who helped with recruiting told me that I had potential, although that sounded like I needed to improve, I understood and agreed. He also told me what you just said…that I am a big asset and that he hoped I would get a boss who would understand and take care of me in a way and help me be better, but that would be rare because managers usually want to hire someone who is “there” already. He did say I was great…oh well, he wasn’t hiring me so I moved on, but I kept it in mind.

What an amazing story. I’m so happy that you had such a great outcome from contacting your birth-daughter. I’m so happy for you both. I am an adoptee and I didn’t have the best outcome but not the worst either. Your writing really was wonderful and really explained a lot of the emotions that we go through.

I’m also glad that you were able to get the legal wording changed. I believe that birth-mothers are putting their child’s needs before their own. It is the most selfless acts of love a parent can make.

Congratulations on having your story published and more importantly having such a wonderful relationship with your birth-daughter!

Very OT but I have to share this giggle with someone….an aerosol can in a piece of luggage at the Miami airport exploded, and well, police, code red, etc. Actually, the bag was out on the tarmac. I gather that some cretin decided she just couldn’t live without her hairspray and couldn’t be bothered to buy a pump-spray bottle, and of course the rules don’t apply to her, so of course she could bring her aerosol can onto the plane, regardless of TSA rules.

Hmmm, wonder which HoWife it was!

    • quincyillinois says:

How did it get through screening?

      • Had Enough! says:

Screening of checked luggage is a joke. In fact, screening of carry on is a joke. Last time I went through, I forgot to put my cosmetics in my one quart plastic bag. Three separate flights, not one screener asked to open my carry-on or asked me to take out the cosmetics bag, which is clear plastic on one side and fabric on the other. I always take it carry-on on the way out if I have to give a talk or otherwise be presentable, but on the way home, I throw it in my checked luggage.

        • Rabble Rouser says:

One time, I accidentally a had spent shelling I my carry on that went undetected, went I got home and almost crapped myself. I was at a gun range while on holiday here (this is when I still lived in Canada and would come to visit my now DH)- I brought my nap sack with me and it must have slipped in.

Also- and I just remembered it as I typed the first tale. I bought my husband some riding leathers (for motorcycle safety wear) for Christmas- and because they were so expensive the guy gave me this wrapped gift. He told me that it was a ceramic figurine. When I went to see hubby, I put it in my carry on based on what he said. When I gave it to DH, it was actually a HD pocket knife.

  20. quincyillinois says:

Now, I am nervous… Simon and Alex are driving almost 700 miles because the second half of their flight was cancelled and there was no rebooking until Sat. My husband said we have a half hour between flights tomorrow. I really don’t want to drive across the country from Washington DC tomorrow.

They were Texas and their first flight took off. The second half got the proverbial ax from an airline. Since Dallas FW is mostly American Airlines… they could have gone to another AA hub…

Not sure where that is … What city is almost 700 miles from NYC..? I know it’s not Chicago…not DC and not Atlanta.

            • vilzvet says:

Not just others on the road – but also to those 2 kids she supposedly loves – not that this is a surprise – remember her stupid PlumTV video where she was driving the jeep with the two kids in the back, no seat belts, and she is on the cell phone? So where did she have to go that she had to drive from the Hamptons to the city – at least three hours in good weather? Let me guess – another bar.

  23. AZ Girl says:

O.K. so the figure on the Camille’s divorce is estimated at 50 Million. I expect if Kelsey is smart (which I am having my doubts) and Camille is a moron (which is being confirmed on a daily basis) Kelsey’s attorney is going to try and throw in as much real estate into that figure as possible.
Most of Kelsey’s real estate value has dropped 30 percent (even more in higher priced homes). Kelsey would be ahead if he did get rid of some of that real estate baggage even if they are paid in full. Especially the west coast houses.
N.Y.C has not depreciated as much and I don’t know about the Hawaii estate except that the upkeep is probably really expensive.
My prediction is that Camille will get the house in BH show, the Hawaii estate, and a lump sum cash and of course spousal maintenance and child support.

Depending on if the mortgages are paid off on the homes I would strongly suggest that she sell them ASAP and get whatever cash she can out of them. Real estate taxes alone will eat through whatever cash settlement she has present and future.

We will see how smart her attorney’s are.

    • quincyillinois says:

I bet both sets of lawyers are very smart. Gosh, I don’t like fighting over money. I have friends in court for years now. They are miserable. I think a quick divorce is preferable if you have to have one.

      • AZ Girl says:

You got it. Get rid of the crazies and settle.

      • Blue Sky says:

Lol, the divorce attorneys are so smart, that they will egg of the fight as long as possible. They will make a very nice sum of money doing this divorce indeed.

        • AZ Girl says:

Trust me every divorce attorney I know have lost their need for the money. They just want to get to “shady acres” and be happy. This stuff gets old and fast. I personally don’t know where divorce attorney’s get their patience. But then again there are the “others” who just feed off this shit and love it and do exactly what you have mentioned above.

          • Blue Sky says:

I have a friend that has spent tens of thousands of dollars on his divorce attorney. He was trying to get more time to see his kids. Well, he has not gotten any more time to see his kids, and the worst is that he is still married to the witch.

Another couple that were divorcing told me “don’t waste your children’s future inheritance fighting your spouse in a divorce.” Both husband & wife told me that…after they were cleaned out by their respective attorneys.

It takes a certain type of person to feed off of the fear, anger, & insanity of 2 people divorcing. I would respect any attorney that reasons with their client, asking them to keep a clear head & just get it done. Have you ever heard any attorney say “we don’t need to go to court…let’s quickly settle and be done with this disagreement.”

Of course when there is so much at stake as with the Grammers, the attorneys clearly are needed. Kelsey’s older children are getting the short end of the stick. Does Kelsey ever think about the consequences of his actions? Why does he even need to marry any woman? He must be so insecure, & these bitches sure do take him for a ride.

          • Blue Sky says:

Sorry to be so negative, AZ.

That “patience” you mentioned…it’s sitting in their bank account, lol.

            • AZ Girl says:

It is cool Blue Sky. I know there are a lot of bad attorney’s out there but there are a lot of good ones who do have their clients best interest at heart.
Divorce sucks. No one wins. It is sad when I see good people get bad representation.
There is a new movement in the legal field in divorce matters where many attorneys are promoting mediation. It is cheaper and a great answer for those couples who need to iron out the details of their divorce and just want it finalized. I saves them thousands of dollars. Couples can get recommendations from their local Bar Association for mediators.

We can stand the heat because we have spent years in kitchens.

      • quincyillinois says:

Do you think the reality stars follow people that they banish to the Island of Elba?

      • Had Enough! says:

Actually, I am Bethenny. I have been hiding under this pseudonym to fool all of you. All that talk about cheesecake was just to throw you off track. And you should see my physical disguise. If you didn’t know better, you would swear I’m 15 years older and well, at least 15 lbs heavier than I look on TV.

    • California35 says:

I have wondered (and almost sure) that they do come to see what’s going on. Many of them probably agree and laugh about the things being said here. Kathy Griffin comes to mind also 😛

      • quincyillinois says:

Kathy Griffin would be an interesting board member. I doubt that she’s here, but it would be fun.

          • quincyillinois says:

Do you think Ginger Zarin is someone famous? That would be incredible. Lynn said that it could be one of us.

            • quincyillinois says:

I am available to guest dog on Ginger Zarin. I am a syndicated guest blogger who aspires to be a dog tweeter. Please contact Lynn for a letter of recommendation.

Quick question re: HWOBH last week and the 20’s party. That big blond who arrived with Camille looks really familiar. I think her last name was Thompson or Thomas when it flash up on the screen. Anyone know and can help me out? Driving me nuts!

  27. Had Enough! says:

OK, so let me get this straight. Linda Thompson hooked up with Elvis, but later with Bruce Jenner, and then with David Foster. Foster is now with Mohammed Hadid’s ex-wife. Meanwhile, Bruce Jenner went on to marry Kris Kardashian, who was once married to Robert Kardashian, who was one of OJ’s lawyers, thus giving Faye Resnick her shot at fame.

There must be a Kevin Bacon in here somewhere.

    • vilzvet says:

Looks like you have it right except for Kevin Bacon, who has only been married once, LOL.

      • vilzvet says:

By the way Kevin Bacon is pretty funny in that new commercial, it even shows “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” in the background.

        • Adgirl says:

Don’t forget Mohammed Hadid was in business with Russell Armstrong. The fraud case named both of them.

So there is an unholy alliance and intermarriages between C level reality stars and financial fraudsters.

          • quincyillinois says:

Bravo hit is rich with celebrities then.

I don’t think either of the Richard women are gorgeous. Lisa is beautiful.

I think all of the NY women are normal..but on occasion Bethenny and Alex look good in photos. Jill looked good in one on her facebook also. She said it wasn’t touched, but I can’t believe that.

        • Rabble Rouser says:

I love that commercial- and the suit from Footloose in the back ground.

  28. Adgirl says:

I can’t believe Alex & Simon are driving 700 miles. They have the kids with them right?
Personally, I would stay in a hotel with an indoor pool and sit tight for a few days.
Just have an impromptu family vaca. Movies, junk food and if no pool then fill up the bathtub.

  29. quincyillinois says:

Linda Thompson is 60… She has had a grand life, but apparently has slacker sons so I don’t want to be Linda Thompson. When she was young, she looked like Shelly Fabres from the Donna Reed Show with Cher’s body and clothing line.

  30. AZ Girl says:

OMG! I drop a quick question and fix dinner and Wham!. You guys are the best.
I remember the connection with Elvis and Bruce Jenner now. When all the connections are put together it is really freaky who is with whom. Six degrees of separation and they all share the same plastic surgeon. Has anyone seen what Bruce Jenner looks like now? Yikes!

Hi there everyone. It’s Debbie. I had to change my screen name as I wanted to have a picture gravatar but couldn’t figure out how to do so without a new name. I wanted to make a sinsere comment. I have been coming to this blog everyday for as long as I can remember it being here. I don’t comment too often but as often as I think I have something to add or when I want to tell someone that their post was exactly what I was thinking, I am just not as well versed as you all. I have to say that after all this time, I feel like a complete outsider. I guess what I am wondering is; Am I really still an outsider or do I just really bother you guys. I am not trying to sound whiney, I am just kind of sensitive and feel, well, left out. I wanted to share a really beautiful story about something a doctor did for me out of the geniune kidness of her heart but felt like like most of my comments it wouldn’t really matter to anyone. It was very humbling. I am on disability and she not only gave me brand new glasses of my choice of frame but also gave me the lens, exam and other tests free of charge (I don’t have vision coverage). She made me think about people being good to each other, not for the pat on the back, but because it’s the way we should all be. Anyway, I may have tried very hard to fit in and maybe I just don’t, but I wanted you all to know that I adore the way you all interact with each other, have each others backs and celebrate each other in good and bad times. Peace and love to you all.

      Hi there and welcome

What a nice story and thank you for sharing it with us. I think that is a great way to introduce and endear yourself to the group at same time. I think you fit in here better than you think- you probably only feel like an outsider because you are more familiar with us than we are of you. That does mean you can’t bring anything to the group dynamic- we are a mixed bunch and blessing.

Jump in, as klmh put it “the water’s fine.” Loved your story about the glasses too. It’s good to know that there are lots of people out there that care enough to make a difference.

Like any relationship, it takes time to get to know one another. Welcome to the blog & keep posting! Go back & read your posts a day or two later. It’s fun to see what people say are saying.

sammyjoesmom, I know exactly how you feel. In my case I know it is just me, shy and totally feel like by the time I come along the comment has been expressed so much better than I could. But I love it here and come more that once a day. It’s like, if you are having a bad day, this blog is always here for you – you can count on it.

I do skip alot of the blog because we don’t have many of the shows in Canada yet and if you have never ‘met’ the characters it is hard to realate to them. (like BH for ex.)

On the other hand, after skimming thru RHNJ on this blog for so long, it was fun to watch the show when it finally came here. Not that I liked it, but it is fun to watch what all of you have watched and discussed.

Some one else said this on the boad and it is so true. Bravo should pay residuals to this board for all the new viewers it has brought in to their other shows.

@sammyjoesmom —Thanks for posting. What a nice story & a nice doctor.
When my mom was sick I learned a lot from doctors. When I say that I mean about their bed side mannor. If I didn’t like a doctor or they rushed my mothers appointment, I’d speak up. Many doctors really don’t seem to care but there are a few left out there that still have a heart. You were lucky to find such a kind doctor.
Don’t feel odd posting, I’m the biggest goof ball on here and I still post. Lynn & everyone is very nice. I hope you come back.

    • American Idiot says:

Hi Debbie: I see you have gotten alot of replies already, but I just wanted to say that although I don’t post too often, I always read and check in every day. I don’t watch some of the show discussed, and on those days rarely comment, but it’s still enjoyable and you can still feel like part of the action.

As for the doctor you mentioned, well we all need to hear something like that this time of year. It restores our faith in humans, and doctors as well. Someday soon I bet you will pay it foward and do something nice for someone else as well. It might even be an encourgaging post to someone here.

The problem with the internet is people read what you write and they decide for themselves. All you can be is honest. So people over time figure you out. You can change your name and have multiple identities supporting you statements, but the reader always makes their own judgments.

I don’t have any issue with Noelle. Go back and read the “event.” It had nothing to do with me.

  46. quincyillinois says:

I had an interesting conversation with young men involved in corporate internet security about the internet and twitter. They do have the ability to find and contact the providers of internet access for everyone on the net. They have always had this and have used that ability to track criminals for the FBI. It seems companies like Twitter will have more access to information in the future. Banks already have the power to check these things. Apparently, that is part of the current administration’s attempt to control the internet. We will still be allowed to use our imaginary names, but the people behind the scenes will know exactly who we are. I hate to see the total freedom that we have had disappear, but government is always going to step in when it gets the opportunity.

  47. Noelle says:

    Poor quincey! okay then…..

  48. Augusta says:

Lynn, I’m surprised you think Ilan was the more mature one between Marcel and him. “Mature” people don’t go around taunting people for being virgins or trying to shave their heads against their will. I know season 2 was a really long time ago (and believe me, I was quite annoyed with Marcel’s affectations so I wasn’t even a fan of his) but that season was absolutely abominable, especially compared to its later seasons (like Vegas). Because so much time has passed, it is quite possible that Ilan’s changed for the better. But at the time that he and Marcel competed in the finale? I guess Ilan’s food was simply better that day; but let’s not forget that Mario Batali called him out for ripping off Casa Mono’s menu (Ilan had been working there).

I’m just surprised that you, who have rightfully and very entertainingly criticized the more heinous of the housewives, would not react the same way towards season 2 Ilan. If you rewatch those episodes, I think you’ll see that Marcel was bullied by a large number of his castmates. And I’m not pulling a Jill Zarin or Kelly Bensimon here by crying wolf about bullying.

Otherwise, I really enjoy reading your thoughts on Top Chef, my favorite Bravo program.

As they say, “life is a smorgasboard, each one can sample the food of their choice, skipping dishes they don’t find appetizing.” Wish I could skip those desserts, except for CHEESECAKE!

  49. Karina Katzowski says:

Lynn..I found this site and find it curious and interesting. What will you do if Alex and Jill and Simon make up? You seem to hate Jill because of them. If Simon asks you to end all the hate..will you? Just curious. K

    • Had Enough! says:

Katrina – since you are new here, you must not have had the time to read back to the beginning and can’t be blamed for not knowing/understanding what prompted Lynn to start this site. Like many of us, Lynn tried to post comments on the Bravolebrity blogs and never succeeded. So in frustration, she wrote a single article that she posted on a friend’s blog, and BAM, it took off like wildfire since there were so many of us who were frustrated with the Bravo blogs and with TwoP.

This was all long before Jill went after Alex and Simon. Well, there had been some little incidents, like Jill telling the NY Post that Simon was drunk, or her ridiculing them for staying at that hovel in the Hamptons, but none of the big stuff had happened yet. There was more than enough to strongly dislike JZ for without even having to mention Alex and Simon.

(Now where did I put that list…?)

We have already had hints that Alex and Jill have called a truce, but saying that they “made up” is a bit off-the-mark. They weren’t friends to begin with. They were strangers who met because of this television show, and there was never much of an indication that they might ever become personal friends. They interacted only on the show.

We have all seen how long truces last on Housewife shows. The Jill-Ramona truces never last until the next commercial break. This one might or might not last. Like they say, a leopard can’t change its spots, so my guess is that Mrs. Zarin will, sooner or later, say or do something really nasty.

I am so sure of this that I will bet you a CHEESECAKE.

If JZ wants people to stop making negative comments about her behavior, she should either (a) stop behaving that way or (b) get off TV and other public venues so we won’t know about her appalling behavior. Ditto to her pet Sasquatch, the soon-to-be-ex-Mrs. KG, Mr/Mrs. Skeevy Giudice, and a few others.

    • AZ Girl says:

Welcome Karina: Lynn posted a holiday message three days ago. You can find the link up at the top right of this page. It is helpful in explaining the history of this site and Lynn’s perspective.

      Hope you join us.

      • Anonymous says:

Now, why would Katrina know Simon, or have reason to think that Simon might do such a thing? It sounds like she is acting as an intermediary. Like – if you say you would do this if Simon asks you to, then I will go to him and ask him to ask you…

Also, as I pointed out yesterday, changing the name of the blog is pretty much irrelevant. What Lynn says about Jill and what we, the Greek Chorus, say about Jill is all to do with Jill’s behavior. Jill and Jill alone has the power to change what we say.

And let’s be realistc – it isn’t just Lynn saying these things. It is all of us, and pretty much everyone who says anything about Jill. Including people who post on Jill’s Facebook before her paid staffer deletes the posts. And lots of other bloggers and the commenters of lots of other bloggers. And lots of newspaper columnists.

So Simon could ask Lynn, but he has no control over us. Lynn has no control (ok, a little control) over us. The only thing Lynn could really do to stop the negative comments is to take the blog down entirely. Lynn need not ever say one more word about Jill Zarin – good or bad – and people will continue to say negative things about Jill Zarin so long as Jill Zarin, well, again (a) continues to behave so atrociously and/or (b) does so publicly, so we can see it.

        • Blue Sky says:

lol, good analysis H.E. You really should work undercover for the ho’wives, they NEED you!

        • AZ Girl says:

I never thought of this. You have made an excellent point. I was curious about the Simon comment. Maybe I need to have 2 cups of coffee before responding to a comment 🙂

        • quincyil says:

OK, that’s the huge difference between Jill and Lynn. Jill requires that friends walk in lock step and Lynn lets us decide for ourselves.

    • Blue Sky says:

Karina, you never know what’s going to happen. It would be great if you keep us informed on any changes in the Simon&Alex vs. Jill debacle.

    • LynnNChicago says:

Had Enough and AZ Girl really did answer your question just as well, if not better than I could but I’m very curious as to why you would think that Simon would ask me to do anything?
I don’t hate Jill because of Alex and Simon, that would make no sense. I hate Jill because of what Jill has done and said not to mention her vicious attacks on many people, not just Alex and Simon. Do you watch the show?

      • Need a Hobby says:

Lynn: I recall that during one of Jillzilla’s public periods of paranoia, during her Alex bashing campaign when Jillz was almost as “out there” as Kiki Roo Kookoo, Jillz herself floated the idea that there was a vast conspiracy against her, as well as suggesting who the players and prime movers were behind that conspiracy.

According to that conspiracy theory, your blog was but part of one of Silex’s devious plans to…well, I don’t know what, really. Take over the world or at least Manhattan? Propagate alien hybrids? Force everyone to speak French?

Jillzer was so busy going so whacko on Amazon and the net with her multiple socks & ID’si and her very public hate campaign against anyone she viewed as a detractor or opponent (like Alex), she got caught up in her own hysteria and assumed everyone else was doing what she was doing. Remember when she was posting as a “fan” on her own facebook and slipped from speaking about herself in third person to 1st person? Nuts.

(If I had her bucks I wouldn’t give a day old fart’s about what any one of you folks thought. I’d be making sure Bawby was happy and then lounging in the South of France or someplace else nice, maybe with pastel fruity drinks with little umbrellas and cute houseboys making sure I was taken care of…..oops. Sorry, I’ve digressed.)

Anyway, I’m surmising that “Karina’s” question was posed within the context I mentioned above.

You’re not gonna try and make us all speak French, are you Lynn? And make us eat all that awful fancy food and those fabulous desserts? No? Bummer. I was already planning on greeting our new overlords, especially Eric Ripert. 😉

Just a thought. Like all my gems (hah!). We always hack on the HoWives for their excessive cosmetic surgery. But sometimes, too little or none is just as bad. I give you exhibit A – our pet moron – who, apart from having her wonky boobs fixed, seems not to realize that her looks are fading. She has pronounced marionette lines (deep folds in the lines that run from the bottom edges of the nostrils to the outside corners of the lips) and she is getting a bit jowly. At 42. Usually you don’t see it, because she is smiling (ok, grinning like a loony tune). Find a photo where she isn’t smiling and you can see it. All that sun is beginning to take its toll.

She really ought to consider some filler.

Considering the horrible outcomes of her lipo and boob jobs, I can’t blame her for shying away, though.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

One point I would like to make about Priscilla Presley: She had injections done in a hotel suite (mistake #1) She was injected by a charlatan with no medical license (mistake #2) and he injected her with low grade silicone that is used in industrial equipment.(mistake #3)

” Daniel Serrano is currently serving an 18 month sentence for performing procedures using imported substances that were not FDA approved. He entered a guilty plea in Los Angeles Federal Court for conspiracy, smuggling and use of unapproved drugs…Serrano, from Argentina, claimed that what he was injecting was better than Botox. What it turned out to be was low grade silicone. Several women, including Larry King’s wife Shawn King, and Lionel Richie’s wife Diane held injection parties in their homes. Serrano smuggled the non FDA approved drugs into the U.S.”

Bottom line, injectibles, and plastic surgery DOES work to reduce the appearance of aging. But it has to be FDA approved, performed by a licensed practitioner and done in a sterile enviroment that is subject to each states’ Board of Medicine’s oversight.
