I Hate Jill Zarin Guest Blog – Quincy IL Tabatha’s Salon Takeover

Thank you Quincy for a GREAT blog!

Tabatha’s Salon Takeover Week Four

Tabatha visits Provincetown, Mass, known as P Town. It’s a lovely vacation village on the ocean. The name of the salon is the West End Salon and Spa and the owner, Douggie, has shtick that drives customers away from the business. The salon makes most of its income in the 16 week summer period. This is a vacation Mecca for gay people and artists so Douggie (57 years old) has created a gay salon. One of the “perks” for customers is a dancing pole in the center of the salon. Customers can save dollars because they dance. This is not popular with the staff or customers. The salon owner, Douggie, asked Tabatha to help him as he is 6 months behind in rent for the salon, 7 months behind in a second mortgage for his home, $32,000 in credit card debt, and works 100 hours a week which affects his health and relationship adversely.

Tabatha is very interested in Douggie’s love life. Douggie has had a 30 year relationship with Jimmie, a disabled man. They would marry if they had the time. Douggie wants to work smarter, not harder.

Spy Cam

The camera finds Douggie hawking Dougie dollars on the street trying to brink in business. They advertise reflexology and massages. The motto is, “We will rub you the right way.” Tabatha is not pleased. Nikki a painted lady in the sense that she is painted and a lady also advertises on the street for the salon. Tabatha thinks this is tacky.

A female customer comes up to Robbi, a young stylist, so Robbi offers a spray tan on the street. He brings her into the store to charge her 40 dollars and she complains and leaves. Robbie announces that she is from New Jersey. Tabatha is from New Jersey and she is not pleased.

Tabatha takes the keys from Douggie. She says that “this is bullshit, absolute bullshit.” The appointments are cancelled for one week. Tabatha tells Dougie that this is an incredibly small salon. She finds stained towels, a horrible closet, dirty brush, and double dipping in the wax for hair removal (you don’t want to know where the hair comes from.)

The staff tells Tabatha that there is an element of crisis as Douggie sabout making enough money in the summer because it is very slow in the off season. The staff wants to step up.

Tabatha brings in a lesbian bridal party and the staff attempts to create the hair styles for two brides and a number of brides’ maids. The brides have photos of what they would like, but some of the staff has difficulties in creating those styles. Tabatha admonishes Douggie for the lack of up to date styling. She says that they are stuck in the 1980s.

A UPS shipment of Douggie Dollars for advertising arrives. Tabatha puts on a hat with fake hair and goes out to hawk the dollars and advertise the salon, but people are frightened off. In fact, men are frightened off. Again, Tabatha tells Douggie “to cut the bull shit.”

Tabatha arrives early to find the young Robbie spray tanning himself in the basement of the salon. Tabatha thinks Robbie is too orange. She is shocked that he is hiding in the basement and glad that he was not wearing his normal sock during the tanning.

Tabatha holds a team lunch in a restaurant with actors as waiters. The silverware is dirty, the actors/waiters are rude and don’t serve the team well. One stylist realizes that this is a test. Tabatha wanted them to see how rude they have been to customers. After lunch, they all go to the beach for a surprise wedding between Douggie and Jimmy, who is in a wheelchair. They seem happy and the staff cries.

Later, in the salon, Tabatha is arguing with Robbie again. Robbie is Tabatha’s problem child.

The walls are now blue and there are long, golden silk curtains in the front windows. The theme is seaside salon. The mirrors were refinished and the salon is spotless. There are new pads to stand on, new salon equipment for the stylists, new computer software from Millennium, and a new feeling of hope for the employees. The stripper pole is gone.

The staff immediately gets to work. Sasha, a male stylist, has been consistently excellent and Tabatha is very impressed with his ability. John takes over the management of the salon while Douggie is away. Robbie is trying to change, but still having problems.

Final Review

Tabatha feels the clients are happy and the staff is really trying. Douggie seems to have listened to Tabatha also. He is going to trust the staff and let John help him manage the salon.

Six Week Check Up

Tabatha comes back to find that the staff is unhappy. Their best stylist, Sasha, left because of differences with the management of Douggie. Douggie is back to his same shtick, which Tabatha does not like. Robbie is trying and that pleases Tabatha. The salon is not doing as well as Tabatha expected.
Thank you Quincy for a great recap, as always of Tabatha’s Salon Takeover!

Great News! It seems the judge in the Giudice case has held Juicy Joe responsible, take a look:

Most of my fellow bloggers have taken a holiday break, but don’t forget to check out our friends over at TVTime101:

and our very own Mickey Mouth:

This is a fan photo site that has a lot of photos of Alex McCord of The Real Housewives of New York, I hadn’t seen many of these before and it looks like some of the photos may have been taken during filming, They may be old photos, I could be wrong but her cast mates are in some of the photos:

The same site has over 100 photos of Kelly Bensimon, if you can take that much Kelly, I still have to wonder who follows her everywhere she goes taking these photos of her that she tweets everyday or at the beach taking dozens of photos of her in the same bikini:

Here’s a short blurb about Bethenny with a photo:

For all of you who can’t get enough Jill Zarin, she’ll be on “Its Me Or The Dog” on Animal Planet this Saturday:

I also ran across an article Jill wrote about how to discipline your child, if you’d rather not check it out, I understand, here is one portion:

Jill Zarin: “The punishment needs to fit the crime. So if they’ve made a mess of their room, DON’T threaten to leave them behind when you take a family vacation. That’s HUGE and it will hurt all of you, to enforce it.”

Is this from experience? Who the hell would threaten to leave a child behind when going on a family vacation? If this article is representative of what is in her book, I can see why she got so many negative reviews. You can read the whole article here:

I’m really missing Real Old Housewife and Real City Housewive’s blogs, they’re taking a much deserved break but I hope they’ll be back soon!

Just before Christmas I posted about a very popular blogger, The Blogess, who started an offer to help people around the holidays by sending gift cards at her own expense to those in need, it snowballed into a really amazing event right before my eyes as the gift cards that she offered ran out so quickly, some of her readers offered to donate more gift cards to help even more people…Huffington Post picked up the story, its worth a read:

My latest in the “Profile of a Housewife” series is posted on my Yahoo Associate Content site – Jill Zarin is profiled and you can read it here:

Portrait of a Housewife – Jill Zarin the Real Housewives of New York @ http://look.ac/gUD6kv

Thank you to Boston02127 for her suggestion, she is asking that all who would care to, light a candle for our very own JustAnotherMary and say a prayer for her, you can do so here:

Until Next Time…

Thanks Quincy and Lynn for another great blog. What the blogess did was amazing and it was very rewarding to be a small part of it. I sent an Amazon gift card to a women with three kids and I found myself thinking of them on Christmas morning.

JustanotherMary, I am thinking of you! When I posted here for guidance on how to support my sister-in-law regarding her diagnosis you were the first to step up and help me. Would you mind if I had your e-mail address? Could you give Lynn permission to give it to me?

    • Sha2000 says:

      Well wishes to you Mary!

      • buffywood says:

How are you feeling Sha2000? Did you keep your dinner down?

        • Sha2000 says:

Lol, yes thanks for asking, much better today!

          • Rabble Rouser says:

I’m sorry to hear you are sick.
I feel horrible myself, DH is going to call MIL to see if she can take me to urgent care because I feel to ill to drive. DH doesn’t want to take me because then we would have to bring the kids and he doesn’t them around more sick people.

            • American Idiot says:

Sorry to hear you are sick, Rabble. Hope it is not serious.

              • Rabble Rouser says:

                Thank You,
I think it started out as a streptococcal infection (I know DD had one during Thanksgiving) and I had symptoms off and on since then. A couple of says ago I thought I was developing laryngitis- I couldn’t speak.
I feel worse now and have been coughing up green phlegm (TMI?) – I ache all over and have a headache and chest congestion.
I want to make sure it’s noting more serious and maybe I can something to help relieve the symptoms.

I feel worse for my hubby and kids that I can’t take care of them or get too close. 😦

                • American Idiot says:

I think you are doing the right thing going to the doctor. Coughing up green may mean an infection.

                • CdnFillie58 says:

it is an infection and it’s bronchial…you need antibiotics ASAP. I had the same symptoms you described took me a month to recover cause I waited too long thinking I could nurse it myself

    • justanothermary says:

Hi Mary, I have been thinking about you for a few days now. I am really bad with words and at least 8 times, I started to say something to you but ended up deleting or just sitting here with my hands frozen on the keyboards. I am praying for you and I hope you are having a good day. I just wanted you to know that I think about you a lot and there is sooo much love here for you. I wish I was better at writing my words. Peace and love, Debbie

  2. error 404 says:

    great recap!

the show is starting to take on a “Clean House” aspect for me, where these owners don’t so much need a business consultant as they need a therapist. Where’s Niecy?

Once again this week we see that the main problem is the owner’s emotional problems, and once again we see upon Tab’s return that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Not just with a 3 day intervention.

The wedding seemed really weird and out of place, but there must have been more backstory as no one involved seemed surprised or jolted by the sudden ceremony, like at all. I think she was trying to hammer home the point that Dougie was a workaholic and both home and work was suffering from it, but of course we see Dougie “back on the bottle” 6 weeks later, like any good ______aholic. And he looked like shit in the return too, like Stacey Slater after her bi-polar-denying bender. All bleached and orange… so much for the owner setting the standard. Who’d want to be styled by someone who looked like that?!?

I haven’t been to P town in almost 20 years, so perhaps it’s changed a lot, but the truth is, it really was tacky back then, so Dougie’s awfulness probably wasn’t at all unusual when he opened. P town used to be all about being accosted by some tragic drag queen while you were just trying to order a latte. Perhaps like most “gay culture” it’s all gone bland and looks like one big Abercrombie add now. While I see that Dougie’s model isn’t good business, and I’d personally never go to his salon, part of me wants to cheer him. In this one episode, Tab’s makeover really did seem like a mom&pop being swallowed up by a superstore.

    • quincyil says:

I actually liked Douggie too, but I want Sasha to be my stylist. There must be a reason that those experienced stylists stay in the salon. If they weren’t making money, they would all leave.

I love Tabatha after watching her for a few seasons. Even when she swears, there is a purpose in the swearing. I think she dresses like a character from Mad Maxx and I love that too. I’d love to have her advice about grandmothers who would like to look modern, but age appropriate. She could make a bundle off of a book that would help all of us.

I thought the seaside color scheme fit their location too. I bet the show has interior designers on staff and the present concepts to Tabatha.

  3. quincyil says:

I looked at the tvtime link from Lynn’s blog. There is a photo of Dinah on the couch with the dog that is the wrong angle for Dina. I always hated my photos, but now I think it’s all about how the photos are taken and altered by the professional photographers. I see the stars of Bravo in HD, then look as at stills like the one Jill Z had on her twitter for ages and wonder how they do that. On tv, Jill’s lower face seems to be falling. On tv, Kim richard’s neck folds on itself. Then the official photos come and everyone looks gorgeous.. except Dina… that is a bad photo of Dinah. Sorry, I’m sure she would agree.

    • BessiB says:

I thought maybe the blogger dicked with the photo – blew up her face and nose.

    • sammyjoesmom says:

I have always hated every picture I was ever in. My mom would say, that is how you look. Deal with it. My ex husband reverses all my pictures now so that they are mirror images. Now I love my pictures. I hope that all made sense.

  4. TrueLifeDiva says:

    Good morning 🙂

  5. Bankruptcy docs, showing that Tree admitted that she did sign docs:

    • buffywood says:

You realize posting this is like giving a drug addict crack? Thanks for the link!!! When to come to her I just have no control I want her busted in everyway possible. It would make my life complete to one day see her in an orange prison uniform standing on the side of the Garden State Parkway picking up garbage.

      • Waxdiva says:

The judge ordered them to pay it, BUT will Mastropole ever get his money????

        • buffywood says:

Who knows? Are they still “partners” in those appartment buildings? Getting 100% equity would be one way for him to consider the debt paid.

          • Waxdiva says:

Webster Place and Glenwood are in foreclosure. I’ve been going over Judge Stern’s opinion and all I can say is wow. No wonder no one has heard from Tree for a week. Just re this motion filed by Mastropole, the judge is citing fraud as the basis for denying the motion. Joe is in huge trouble. Also, both she and Juicy signed a PERSONAL note to pay Mastropole!

        • quincyil says:

That is hitting the nail on the head. How do you get money from people like that even if there is a court order. They are sly. She has money for everything that she wants. I’m sure we will see her and the daughters in designer clothes in their mansion all next season. The rest of us are careful with out money and pay our bills. She won’t pay that $250,000. Joe, the partner, can pay lawyers and go back to court a thousand times and Teresa still won’t pay.

      • Waxdiva says:

Oh… we can only dream! But the Judge saw right through Juicy’s crap, so I’m sure when it come Tree’s turn, he’ll do the same. Go Judge Stern!!!

        • vilzvet says:

Love that judge! His wording against Joe was precious, he didn’t hold back.

        • BessiB says:

There is probably more in store. I do not think an attorney would carelessly say, “Her day of reckoning is still to come.”

    • sammyjoesmom says:

Is it normal that I am drooling over thsi?

      • buffywood says:

Absolutely. Does anyone else wonder what Christmas morning was like in their house? How much over-priced ugly useless crap they bought for their daughters? It is images that like to continue to remind me why we should all be pissed at their behavior. I wonder what the children of the stair railing contractor they screwed over got? Please let there be justice.

    • Waxdiva says:

If you want to skip right to the ‘Tree signature’ info, scroll down to ‘Testa Testimony.’

      • vilzvet says:

It’s Christmas all over again, reading that story. Cannot believe Joe took his former employee’s notary stamp and applied it to docs. What a douche.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

IMO, Teresa knows all and is just playing dumb! Somewhere someone is going to see through this and justice will be done. Teresa and Joe’s relationship will be over once the money runs out and/or someone goes to prison.

      • Waxdiva says:

Oh, she’s gonna get her turn! IMO, that’s another reason she’s been quiet since Dec. 29. This bankruptcy decision is extremely bad for them. Here’s a little of Judge Stern’s opinion:

Giudice’s multiple acts of forgery and deceit readily establish both conversion and wrongful conduct intentionally inflicted to injure Mastropole’s property, all done without any just cause or excuse.
Giudice’s deception over at least a six-month period in 2007 parlayed an unauthorized twice forged discharge of mortgage into two “clear title” refinance transactions in which he was the sole beneficiary.
Mastropole’s property, i.e., his mortgage of record on Webster Place, was negated and the real estate which was to be his collateral was thoroughly drained of its equity by

Judge Stern is basing his decision on:

The complaint for exception to discharge is based upon 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(2)(A) (fraud), § 523(a)(2)(B) (fraud with regard to a written financial statement), § 523(a)(4) (embezzlement or fiduciary breach), and § 523(a)(6) (willful and malicious injury to property).

Juicy and Tree, I’m sure, have been in a huddle with their attorneys, ’cause you don’t ever want to hear those words connected to your name by a judge. Like I said, Juicy’s in huge trouble and IMO, Tree’s next up.

        • buffywood says:

As for huddled with their attorneys, I wonder how long that will last. First they will run out of money to pay him and I see a big conflict of interesting coming… She is claiming she didn’t sign the bankruptcy filing but I believe her attorney know she did… how long until he is called as a witness and mistake me if I am wrong but privlidge wouldn’t cover this as there is criminal action involved.

          • Rabble Rouser says:

Was her/their attorney present when the documents were signed? I don’t think the attorney – client privileged laws allow perjury to be introduced.
Is their bankruptcy lawyer the same one who is representing them in this case?

            • buffywood says:

Honestly it is just pure speculation on my part. Any half decent would go through the legal documents one final time to make sure they understand completely before signing. I know in every legal document I’ve signed that is what happened.

While there is no notary on the bankruptcy the attorney (Kriedel) signed an oath on the form declaring that he informed the petitioner that (he or she) blah blah blah… their rights under bankruptcy.

          • sammyjoesmom says:

            THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. TEB says:

I am thrilled that the Giudice’s are going to lose some money! PLEASE let the bankruptcy get thrown out!

I just love what that Miles fellow had to say! He is so funny and to think that there are people out there who have no sense of humor and took offense at what he wrote about Stacie visiting Nigeria. And I agree with SHA2000 on what she says is for some an economic truth, IE: buying toilet paper over food, since most people in underdeveloped countries just wipe their bums with their fingers and then wipe their fingers on anything that’s handy. ( They could be cooking your food, so if it tastes shitty, that’s why ). But the real question is how could anyone take offense at the truth? I suppose that there are a lot of bleeding heart leftist liberal elitists that would be offended, but then why would they be watching real housewives since there is always something offensive in every episode. Now, let’s get back to that food vs. toilet paper issue. I think I have a solution. Just eat toilet paper. It’s very easy to prepare…………..just brown one side. Ha ha ha ha. Get it? Ha ha ha ha ha.
Gotta’ go now girls so I can catch some of my favorite reruns of project runway.
    Princey Poo
P.S. For goodness sakes, I hope nobody was offended

    • Adgirl says:

      What she said.

    • Waxdiva says:

Yeah… what she said. Has anyone ever been in a third world country where they had to decide between bread and tp?

      • Had Enough! says:

I’ve traveled to many developing countries and yes, in some, toilet paper is hard to come by, at least the ridiculously plush expensive toilet paper we use – using virgin paper. But they use other paper, not their hands. In countries where forests are not abundant – even highly developed countries – they are more careful with their resources and don’t use virgin paper for toilet paper. Or use chlorine to bleach the paper and then dump the toxic chemicals in their waters. We are poisoning ourselves and wasting our precious resources. Use unbleached paper products made of post-consumer recycled fiber.

Anyone who says that people in developing countries use their hands is just ignorant or (in the case of that comment) trying to be funny.

What I do wonder about is how Stacey knows this guy is really her father and not some scam artist. Her mother refused to cooperate. Some total stranger in the embassy hooked her up with this guy. Who knows who he really is?

        • Sha2000 says:

Had Enough well said. And yes agree about the TP, even in Europe it’s not as nearly as plush as here…we are spoiled in that way.

      • quincyil says:

I’ve read all of the responses on both blogs. There is truth in what every single board member wrote including the above post.

I think we can remember Spirit from Flipping Out and recognize that you don’t have to go to the Third World. The origianal post was tongue in cheek….. The above post is less funny.

I have not gone to India’s city toilets, but as a microbiologist, I have read about them. I have seen photos of the bathrooms in Terhan Airport and I don’t want to visit them.

Still, the travelers are correct and those who had opinions about starvation and poverty are correct. I get the humor and the concern.

I am assuming the first screen name listed is supposed to be mine.
Yes, I am a liberal. And I respect your right to have a different political point of view, and I do not consider one political persuasion superior to others. It does not appear that we find the same things humorous, which is understandable, since each one of us is unique. One of the beauties of this country is the tremendous diversity in cultural, political and religious experiences, expressions, values and beliefs, and it enriches my life… I do not feel that *different* = *deficient.*
I would like to lay this “issue” to rest here.

Double ditto Buffy! We posted that at the same time!!

  12. WindyCityWondering says:

Thanks Quincy – love how you recap Tabitha’s show. The first time I watched the show I found her to be very abrasive and demeaning to the takeover participants. Now I appreciate her because she is not being mean – she really wants to help! Most of all I like Tabitha because she is not a whinny, self entitled fame whore!

    • buffywood says:

I too look at her totally differently then before. Between Lynn’s wonderful interview and Quincy’s recap I see her in a different light. She is like that really tough teacher or sports coach in school that I didn’t like at the time but looking back they made such a positive change in my life.

      • quincyil says:

Also….Jackie Warner… I had read on the board that she had a problem and wasn’t on Bravo for a while. I bought her book and blogged “Thintervension” for our board and I saw a very nice person who was determined to help others get healthy. She sometimes did it with a baseball bat, but the cast had a defined period to lose weight and gain muscle so she needed to be firm.

Last night, I started Jackie’s book again. I think she is very intelligent and uses science to help her customers successfully lose weight. We women have monthly issues or at least we did way back when. It truly affects how we feel. Balance… we all have to strive for balance in our lives. Stress affects us too.

I hope everyone is drinking their wate and eating. That is the key… 3 meals and 2 snack spaced out over your day. Keep moving, but have your vigourous exercise period. Cardio and weights…

    • quincyil says:

It really is honesty in reality television. We have become jaded by subterfuge.
Tabatha really doesn’t dislike anyone and if she does in the beginning she still helps them. I think there has only been one salon that she totally gave up on and that was warranted.

Tabatha is a person that I could be friends with. I like her sense of humor and work ethic. I like her all black outfits too. I had a few years in black during my I want to be a nun and black is slimming phase. If I went out with her I would wear black.

Tonight, we have two interesting shows from Bravo. Patti has a beautiful millionairess who she is going to tear apart because she does not fit Patti’s idea of beautiful. Later, there will be gay weddings in the fashion show. Featured judges are Rachel Zoe and Johnny Weir. I can’t wait to drop into the board and give my opinions as we share on the board. I think there will be fodder for discussion with those two shows.

    • error 404 says:

I think Tabitha and Jackie come from a good place. I don’t think Patti does, and I’m really dubious about Jeff.

I think they all ham up the meanness for the show, but…

I think Tabitha also knows what she’s doing the most. Jackie seems on track, but the injuries were concerning to me. I think Jeff’s “craziness” actually hurts his business rather than helps it. And I don’t think Patti could match Romeo with Juliette if her life depended on it, although she probably did fix the Juliette/Paris marriage. That seems more her style.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

I would not use Jeff Lewis’ services because of the way he treats his clients (and his staff).

        • Adgirl says:

I think they are all kind of “in” on the joke, the joke being Jeff is an OCD with over lays of diva & snark.
To tell you the truth, I’ve lived around tons of construction people of all levels and they are brutal, to everyone.
Jeff is anal and gets to the point, but he is a bunny rabbit compared to many real life guys. So he doesn’t bother me. I admire the fact is Jeff is gay, out and working in a field that is historically hostile to it.
Some of Jeff’s clients are emotionally needy and want to be on tv. I’m thinking about the middle aged porn lady and the retired actress with the kitchen remodel last season. They were looking for a companion/slave, not a remodeling job.

        • quincyil says:

I could work with Jeff Lewis. I ignore a lot and constantly look for what is important. I think he would actually appreciate that. However, Bravo would not film me because that would be very boring.

          • Rabble Rouser says:

DH and I always say if we win the lotto (MEGA millions is 320 million tonight) that we will hire Jeff. DH thinks he is a hoot.

      • buffywood says:

Error, great summary on all parties.

      • quincyil says:

I was concerned about the injuries too. I mentioned working into your exercise routine when sharing with our Lynn Family Losers. Not only did Jackie push the cast members hard, during the workouts some of the cast members were pushing themselves a tad too hard also. I think it had to do with the six weeks of filming. Jackie wanted to show huge changes in 3 months and the did have huge changes, but it’s dangerous. The oldest client was Jeanna Keough who was in her early 50’s. Most of them were in their 30’s.

        • California35 says:

I get concern about starting rough too fast, there is more change of quitting that way. Also, for how long can one person keep that up? The same goes for the diet. On the other hand, I understand that if we start strong and continue like that until we accomplish our goals (weight and firm body), we will reach them faster and then we can be on a more normal and less difficult routine to keep it off. I don’t know 😛

          • buffywood says:

I agree with you both. If you try to come too fast out of the gate you are setting yourself up for failure. It gives the impression that the changes are too hard, and you give yourself a mental out (I can’t keep this up).

They needed results in 6 weeks so they pushed hard. Our basic 20 lbs in 20 weeks can be done with small gradual changes that everyone can maintain. Simply adding a small amount of exercise and making one additional nutritional change each week will get you to the finish line, but even better it should get you past the finish line with continued new habits/lifestyle.

            • I often wondered how the people in”the biggest loser” and “thintervention” could sustain the level of activity that they did?
think about it, whenever you (I) go to the gym and really push yourself, aren’t you really sore the next day? In the case of the biggest loser these people are 100 lbs.
overweight, they work out for 8 hours and then they get up the next day and do it all over again? what misery. I work out with a trainer 2-3 x a week, I am 20-30 lbs. overweight and still, every now and then I’ll do a training session and feel like I’m crippled the next day and the best I can do is a walk in the park.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, how the heck do they do those workouts and sustain no serious injury?
Am I thAT BIG of a wuss?

              • quincyil says:

Some people feel pain more than others after work outs, but the cast of thintervension went to spa massages so I think they were feeling the burn and after effects of hard exercise.

  13. Adgirl says:

Happy day! I just went to the dentist and found out I need a root canal on Monday. Any tips for getting through it are appreciated.

Something about Tabatha and root canals … She is inflicting pain to clean out the diseased area (salon) so it can heal and be healthy.

Just like Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares the salons are in trouble for pretty obvious reasons. Most of the owners suffer from a personality dysfunction (too passive, disorganized, compulsive, out of fashion or dictatorial) and it is expressed in their business.
It’s no surprise that these owners resist any change. Most of them are pretty sick in the head in the first place.
While these businesses usually won’t be saved, I’ve learned a lot about running a small business from these shows. Basically, keep a clean shop, stay on top of trends & don’t be afraid of your staff.

I didn’t use to like Tabatha from her Shear Genius days. I found her cold (grinchy eyebrows maybe?). Now I think she genuinely cares, but is frustrated by the apathy of the owners.
Just like Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares — why do these owners apply to be on the show if they don’t want to change? Are they looking for validation that their losing methods are right??

    • Sha2000 says:

      Sorry AD!

    • WindyCityWondering says:

After all is said and done, once the root canal is completed you will wonder how you ever put up with the pain in the first place. Get your mouth as healthy as possible – floss and use mouthwash so healing will be quicker. Good luck!

    • kbinldo says:

So sorry to hear about the root canal. Make sure you get loads of the fun drugs, though. 🙂 Good luck!

      • Adgirl says:

LOL. I’m getting something called Vicodin Extra Strength. I don’t take prescrip pills often but I like to have them as a back up. My poor old crowns and fillings are getting fragile and falliing apart one by one. I’m insane about flossing but sometimes its not enough.
I have a cute dentist… he’s a gay Pakistani that watches reality shows like the Bachelor. He reminds me of Angelo on Top Chef.

      • Pantry Viewer says:

Girl, make sure you have a dentist who will give you a bit of a sedative and, by all means, go for the laughing gas as well. I had one that didn’t go too well and dreaded having the next one years later and put it off. I was a little embarrassed to ask, but, wow, was my dentist accomodating in that regard! It all worked out fine – I was out of my mind and didn’t feel a thing 🙂

        • Adgirl says:

Great idea!!! I also tell the dentist not to tell me what he’s doing. I hate it when they say “Now I’m going to tug on the blankety blank”. Eww. I don’t want to visualize.

          • Pantry Viewer says:

I know! LOL! I was a loose noodle by the time I got to the chair. The laughing gas, in combo with the valium or whatever, sent me into space. I honestly don’t remember a bit of it. I remember looking at a shrub in the window outside and seeing it with big blooms that weren’t really there. Then I was asleep 🙂 Awesome!

        • sammyjoesmom says:

That’s me. My dentist has it in my file. I highly recommend it Adgirl. Takes away the nervousness and everything. I am sorry you have to have it done but it will be soo much better afterward. On a lighter note, my mom had a root canal done and 2 days later, it hurt worse, not better. She went back to the dentist and found out he had done the wrong tooth. We joke about it now.

    • klmh says:

Don’t think it will hurt, so thats the good news. The bad news is, bring your credit card.
Are you going to an oral surgeon, or just a dentist?

    • Dawn says:

I saw an episode of Tabatha’s show yesterday (from 2008) at a salon in Oyster Bay, NY. It was clear to me from the get go that the owner wasn’t interested in changing ANYTHING but was very interested in the salon redo.

  14. boston02127 says:

    Great recap. Thx Quincy.

  15. American Idiot says:

I have an OFF TOPIC question for anyone out there with a son 18+ yrs. old. I always thought it was required to register them for the US Gov Selective Service at age 18. My son will be 18 shortly. When I questioned his friends’ moms, almost all said they did not register, and had no intention of doing so. Two even received letters in the mail from the Gov stating they must register or face fines, and they still are not registering.

I am planning to register my son, but has anyone every heard of what actually happens if you don’t. Does the sherriff show up at your door, like when you don’t go to jury duty? Or something else?

    • Had Enough! says:

The maximum penalty for failure to register is $250,000 and up to five years in jail, in addition to ineligibility for federal jobs and some benefits, such as student financial aid. A number of states will not give/renew driver’s licenses to males over the age of 18 who have not registered for the draft.

I am surprised to read “I am planning to register my son.” At the age of 18, a person is old enough to vote, drive, marry, sign a contract, fight for his/her country – basically, the law recognizes a person of that age to be an adult for all purposes except (in most states) drink. An adult is responsible for his own conduct and the consequences thereof.

      • Adgirl says:

I think we got my son his form at the post office.
He’s older than 18 but still requires a form of parenting/management.
Last year, when we lived in different areas of the state he didn’t handle a used car purchase correctly and ultimately lost his driving privileges for a year because the insurance was messed up. Worse punishment than a DUI!

        • Had Enough! says:

          Register online: http://www.sss.gov/default.htm

I don’t like the draft and war anymore than anyone else, but if you don’t like the law, work to change it. Don’t just ignore it. And meanwhile, comply. Or deal with the consequences. You want a federal job? Oops, sorry – you should have obeyed the law. You want a student loan? Oops, sorry, you should have obeyed the law.

I think your son’s experience was a really valuable learning experience for him. Parents need to let their children do things on their own, and if they stumble, they will learn from the experience and grow into more competent and responsible adults. So it may have been a painful year, but he’ll have decades benefitting from the experience.

          • American Idiot says:

Thanks for the link, H E. I’m going to pass it along. One of the moms, I know for sure, is going to apply for federal student loans, so she may want to reconsider.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

What I find odd about in America, someone who reaches 18 can do all the things you listed but can’t legally order an alcoholic drink until their 21st birthday.

      • American Idiot says:

Thanks for the info on the fines and penalties, Had Enough. Even though he is technically an adult in a few weeks, registering for the selective service is not something he would do independently. I think we will just do it online together; then he can read what it is all about along with me. He is a good student with part time job and few college acceptances, but not entirely mature enough to live as an adult, if you know what I mean. I still keep an eye on him in alot of instances.

        • Had Enough! says:

I hear you. Maybe if you say to him, “Hmm. I wonder what happens if you don’t register…?” And then ask him to look it up. Once he sees the potential problems (to be honest, I doubt they will come looking for him, but what about not getting student loans or federal jobs…?) then I’ll bet he takes care of it quickly.

        • BessiB says:

If he plans on continuing school and applying for FASFA he will, because he could not complete the application with out registering. That is how the kids I know do it – with their FASFA application.

    • quincyil says:

Both of my sons registered. Maybe, it’s the area, but everyone’s sons registered. It wasn’t a big deal around here.

My husband was a immigrant with a green card and each Jan., I picked up a card for him to fill out. Later, one of the other residents got into immigration issues and the government punished him for not registering every Jan.

      • LynnNChicago says:

I remember we just got a card in the mail, my son signed it and dropped it back in the mailbox, it was even postage paid.

        • neroes says:

That’s what happened with my son too. A card in the mail. We sent it back and three months later he signed up and has been in the Army for 10 years.

          • quincyil says:

It’s been a while, but I remember the cards in the mail. The government has their ss numbers and tax forms. We always had our children file taxes as they had jobs.

  16. Rabble Rouser says:

    Hello everyone.

I loved the recap and enjoyed Tabitha’s Salon Take Over.
Is it just me or did she seem to be a little less abrupt in her criticisms in this episode? I think they might be trying to show her softer side to gain more fans, kind of of like seeing her in pink pajamas.

I like Tabitha. I think she loves what she does and respects her craft and wants others to do the same. Although, I was a bit surprised seeing her salon, it seems rather ordinary and ‘strip mall-ish’, I expected a HIGH END Manhattan type of environment.

    • Pantry Viewer says:

Where did you see her salon? I should Google that…interesting. I would envision somewhere a little more swanky as well.

  17. boston02127 says:

    Ha Ha Teresa & Joe. Happy Butt Dance! (_l_) (_/_) (_l_) (_\_) (_l_) (_/_) (_l_)

  18. Adgirl says:

There is an army of squirrels and birds in my backyard. I put out a pile of bird seed because they looked hungry. They were all lined up on the fence waiting for me to haul my cat inside.

  19. Pantry Viewer says:

Enjoying the link and commentary on Joe’s feet being held to the fire. And hopefully, Teresa’s will be as well.

Standing in line in the grocery last night, I flipped through a mag and saw Teresa gambling (in Vegas? – can’t remember) somewhere swank in full fancy dress/hair/jewelry on December 16th. Unfreaking believable. Can you imagine the disgust Mastropole must feel every time he sees their fake selves out spending his money, all as yet unpunished? It galls me so much.

    • buffywood says:

That was in Florida at the Seminole Casino (spelling?). I think her and Caroline went down for a book signing or something.

    • BessiB says:

But that is HER money. You know, from the book contract and the on-line store she did not disclose to the Trustee.

  20. Adgirl says:

I have an army of squirrels & birds in my yard feasting on a pile of seeds I put out. They lined up on the fence to wait for me to haul in my cat.

  21. Rabble Rouser says:

I LOVED tvtimes blog- and it was great to see another article where Allison puts her foot in her mouth. In this one see really expands on how she was told about Kyle and the effects it was having on poor Camille (SNICKER) before the dinner party.
I am so confused, I thought she wasn’t told anything and was deeply offended by Faye insistence that didn’t ring true.

She was also in shock and disbelief when she heard about Kelsey and Camille splitting up, now I am sure you don’t need to be a psychic to see there was something wrong with that marriage.

Her career is OVER. She’s DONE. Know That.

  22. Adgirl says:

Well, well, well. Here come da Judge for the Giudices. How can we find out if there will be a criminal action? Is this against Federal law because of the loan fraud?

    • Had Enough! says:

Usually, fraud is a state offense, not a federal offense (there are exceptions). It would be up to the prosecutors in the relevant NJ county to decide if they want to prosecute. Mastropole is going to have a hard time collecting on this debt unless he can find Joe’s hidden assets. He can’t garnish Teresa’s income from Bravo or attach any of her separate assets because there is no judgment against her. The funeral home they live in is in both names, so he can’t go after that, not that there is any equity in it. So best he can do is stand in the pizza place and grab cash from the register (kidding!).

      • Waxdiva says:

HadEnough: I have to disagree with you. The Joo-dices are in Federal Bankruptcy Court. What will happen next is the case will be referred to the US Attorneys Office for criminal charges… IF it is determined that there are criminal offenses. However, this judge isn’t playing around and has slapped Juicy around good in his opinion of the case, so IMO, criminal charges will be what Juicy and hopefully Tree can look forward to when Judge Stern is done with them.

        • Had Enough! says:

But that’s the fraud within the bankruptcy filing itself, i.e., not disclosing assets, submitting tax returns that had never actually been filed, etc. I don’t know that the U.S. Attorney can prosecute the underlying fraud in the Mastropole matter unless there is a violation of a federal statute. The reason this state violation was tried (actually, re-tried; Mastropole already had a judgment in state court) in bankruptcy court is because the bankruptcy law provides that all underlying disputes are to be tried in the bankruptcy court, regardless of original jurisdiction.

The U.S. Attorney is already involved; they filed to ask the Court to deny the discharge. I think it is likely that they will pursue criminal charges for the fraud associated with the bankruptcy filings, but again, don’t know that they have a legal basis to prosecute for the fraud that was unrelated to the bankruptcy proceedings.

          • BessiB says:

The way I see it (not an attorney), the argument for the denial of bankruptcy is fraud. That is yet to be determined. However, this debt was severed from the claims in bankruptcy – by the bankruptcy court – because this court found there to be fraud. Now, the AG has a ruling that Joe IS a fraud, and the trustee will provide additional evidence to that effect to the court. Then, if the final decision is a denial of bankruptcy due to perjury and fraud as a finding of fact, then finally, the criminal case could proceed.

        • Need a Hobby says:

Yeah, they are currently in Fed bankruptcy court but that court isn’t the court of jurisdiction for previous violations which are the jurisdiction of the state. The presumed fraud, perjury, etc in the Mastropole debt matter occurred previously, did not involve the bankruptcy court, and would be state offenses as HE indicated.

Federal jurisdiction would be over what’s been transpiring in the federal bankruptcy proceedings: perjury before the court, attempting to perpetrating a fraud upon the court, etc..

          • quincyil says:

I wonder if the Giudices’ lawyers feel confident that they will be paid in full with all of these courts and charges.

            • Rabble Rouser says:

I’m sure he has a nice retainer in advance of all the ‘under the mattress’ money.

              • quincyil says:

When they were paying everything in cash, I was surprised. After 9/11, there are restrictions on cash transactions. I know that because of a sign in my car dealership. Someone brought in a suitcase with cash and the authories were called.

              • sammyjoesmom says:

Remember when they went to Italy and they took ALL their suitcases off the boat with them. That’s where the money is/was.

              • BessiB says:

I believe that the bills go to the Receiver, not the client, in the bankruptcies and ,otherwise in the debt restructuring s, they would not work on Monday until the wire transfer from Friday clears.

          • Rabble Rouser says:

Are all of you attorneys? I remember that their are attorneys that post here but I can’t remember who they are.
I have a question, I know that in criminal court there is double jeopardy but this is a civil matter correct? The case against Teresa was thrown out but can it be appealed so assets in her name can be pursued?

            • Had Enough! says:

Jeopardy does not attach in a civil case. Double jeopardy means you can’t be tried for the same crime twice. No one has been tried for a crime. Often, when there is a criminal case pending, the civil case is postponed because obviously, anything said in the civil case (depositions, trial testimony) can be used later in the criminal proceedings. Since the person being sued is likely to refuse to testify on the basis that the answer may tend to incriminate him, there is no point in proceeding until after the criminal trial is over.

      • Adgirl says:

There are people who “grab cash from the register”. Til Tappers they are called.
They have a lot of restrictions on how often they can be at the business and they usually don’t work at night or the weekend so not much $ is collected. Never $250K.

        • Had Enough! says:

You know what really bugs me the most about all of this? Every time I read about them, and think of the pizza place, I want a slice! Although I looked at their menu and photos of their pizza and it actually doesn’t look very good. Lots of heavy cheese, red sauce, thick dough – a bazillion standard Italian dishes. I think Beverley and Blue Sky ought to take one for the team…

  23. boston02127 says:

This is going to sound weird. Since my mom passed away I’ve been looking everywhere for “a sign” from her. At X-Mass I had this little angel that she loved hanging up and would stare at it hoping it would (somehow) move. I’ve been hoping & praying and asking her for some sign. I think I got my first sign today. I was at a red light & the person in front of me had a bumper sticker that read “Give Blood”. I looked closer at it and it said Give Blood and under that in small letters it read “tease a
doberman”. (I know, sick) but it made me laugh and think of my mother because she had such a dry sense of humor she would have laughed too. I laughed even harder thinking of her & her laughing. But I felt something weird when I was laughing, I had such a light and good feeling. Something just went thru my mind that said she wants me to laugh. LOL so I started to cry & laugh at the same time. I know it sounds weird but I’ve never had such a light lifting feeling like I did today.

    • quincyil says:

You are doing well, Boston. There will be highs and lows, but I’m glad you enjoyed those thoughts.

Doesn’t sound weird at all to me Boston. I understand what you felt. I’m sure she’s with you whenever you need her.

    • LynnNChicago says:

I love this story Boston! xo

      • boston02127 says:

I know it’s a weird story & hard to understand but I had the best (lightest) feeling that I’ve felt in a long time.

        • American Idiot says:

I don’t think its weird at all, boston. We all look for signs like that every day, and it is thrilling when we get one. After my girlfriends’ father died, she was feeling upset that she wasn’t there when he passed, and was worried he might have been looking for her. She had a dream a few days later, where she heard his voice say “I’m OK. She was so relieved after that.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

          it’s all good- honey.

My mom took a while to send me a sign and so did other loved ones that have passed. I think they get sort of shocked and have to acclimate to not being here.

I talked to a medium once ( a REAL one, not an allison type) who said that the departed move in a different energy zone than us- that it’s like walking through Molasses for them.

The finality is the most difficult for us to bear. That this is it. No more.

And just when you don’t think you can stand it another second, you will see a sign.

p.s. If this was a sign from your mom, she has an awesome sense of humor.

        • Cusi77 says:

Bostoncito_ She is definitely making contact with you. I do not want to sound “weird” by telling you this, we Catholics believe in “The communion of Saints” in our Creed, which means that our family who preceded us to meet The Lord are watching over us… So your Mom is now your Angel watching over you and what you experienced was that she wants you to laugh and to live your life in happiness, she will never leave you. I do not want to tell you *Know that* …. but….. I know that when I feel my mom is my intercessor in front of God everyday of my life. So is yours!

        • twoile says:

@((((Boston))))), I believe! Trust your own experience. How wonderful for you to share the laughter again….it won’t be the last time. Take care Jeanne

    • Adgirl says:

That is so funny and uplifting.
Imagine her reaction knowing the first time you finally “knew” she was with you, was when you saw a sarcastic bumper sticker
She’s probably telling all of her friends “up there”. LOL.

    • AZ Girl says:

      That is so great Boston.

I had a sign after I lost both my parents in a period of 3 weeks. I lost Mom first to cancer and Dad was killed in a car accident 3 weeks later.
When I was visiting my Mom in the hospital when she was terminal my dad and I took shifts being with her. During my off time I was busy cleaning their condo.

One day I cleaned out the refrigerator and went to relieve my dad on his shift at the hospital. When he came back to relieve me he told me that “If I keep cleaning the house the squirrels will stop coming by for food because they won’t recognized the place”. My Mom just could not stop laughing!

Well Dad died and after the funeral I was cleaning out their condo with my brother. It was 20 below zero and I was in the kitchen once again cleaning out the refrigerator. My brother called out and told me to come into the living room. At the patio door were two squirrels just looking in. They sat there for a few minutes and then scampered away.

That was my sign and I will never forget.

    • sammyjoesmom says:

God Bless you Boston. It doesn’t sound weird to me at all. It sounds beautiful and hopeful. That brought a tear to my eye.

    • kbinldo says:

things like that do happen, just not when you’re looking for them. hence the bumper sticker & not the angel. 😉 here’s a weird one of how my dad made his presence known on a trip to Australia: I have always had a horrible time blowing my nose, so I tend to make a lot of unlady-like noise while doing so. My dad claimed that I was calling the moose & would yell “MOOSE MOOSE” whenever I blew my nose. Fast forward to my trip to Oz in 1999 (over New Years) & a trip to Ayers Rock where we spend NYE camped out under the stars. The tour company had names for the sleeping bags so you could get the same one every night. My bag was called “Gidgie.” A gidgie is a lizard-like reptile that can’t process salt, so it builds up on its nose. When the salt reaches a certain point, it sneezes. When I found out what a gidgie was, all I could do was laugh & say “I love you too, Dad.”

  24. klmh says:

Im going to get slammed for this, but its more a question than a gut feeling. Anyway, remember the first year of NJ when Teresa was buying all kinds of crap? She even tried on a million dollar necklace, and Dina had a comment about that. Could someone know their lives were in this much of a financial crisis to do the spending she did?
Remember Jo’s remark about him being pissed that she spent so much money, but when he saw the children, it was understandable?
I have been so strong in my belief that both J&T were crooks and should go to jail, but Im just wondering as dumb as she is, could she not know what she was signing, or at least not understand the ramifications of signing these documents? Of all the housewives, T. is the dumbest, imo. Actually the group of NJHW seem a tad dull. In this case ignorance isn’t bliss and not knowing the law is no excuse, and she should pay for her ignorance, but Im not sure throwing her in jail is the answer. Jo is another story….

    • quincyil says:

I don’t think Teresa is intelligent either. However, I think she’s playing possum when it comes to the signatures on documents and I suspect she has advice from someone who knows how to work the system.

Totally agree. I also believe that there is no “innocence” connected to Teresa. She may not have known everything but she knew a lot more than she is indicating.

    • Adgirl says:

Intelligence is not required – brazen greed, cunning, narcissism and balls are all that’s required.

From my own experience, in real life you don’t expect people to continually lie to your face, steal your stuff or purposely not pay you for things.

It just doesn’t relate to your universe. They don’t have to be smart to fool you.

      • quincyil says:

I have dealt with liars. It’s exhausting.

        • Adgirl says:

Seriously. The woman I am thinking about just wore out her creditors by playing dumb all of the time. We were the only people who stood up to her. She lied to her attorney. That’s how her lawsuit against us ended. Her attorney fired her for lying.
Her exhusband, the same thing. His attorney also fired him for lying.

      • Sha2000 says:

“Intelligence is not required – brazen greed, cunning, narcissism and balls are all that’s required.”

Tariq Salahi is competeing with the Curtins. Somehow, Michaele seems smart to me, but she really wanted to rise about her station. (as Mary Amon would say)

    • error 404 says:

Women like this have a very well constructed wall of forced ignorance. Technically, Camilla Soprano was just the wife of a guy who ran a garbage collection business, and she knew nothing about her husband’s company. It’s a very well studied life of “see no evil, hear no evil”. They know everything and yet nothing, all at the same time. Unlike the cast of Soprano’s, I don’t think the cast of RHoNJ are “playing mafia for TV”. They’re real life crooks IMHO, all of them.

      • quincyil says:

        All of the cast?

I know that restaurants can make a lot of money. My aunt married a guy with a business like the Brownstone and became very rich. I think that was husband number 4 of 6. My aunt believed in raising her station in life.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

@quincy- I’m sure you don’t remember, but over the summer I did a composite horoscope for Theresa.

remember how there was so much bickering over “the mafia” and some posters got really upset about any allegations saying it was anti-italian, and some posters had some interactions with mafia? It was when all that info about Tiny Manzo’s murder came out? And it was reported that his murderer(s) had cut off his dingaling and stuffed it in his mouth and that’s how he was found?

well, I thought it was a little too controversial at the time, so I never posted it-but things have calmed down enough here to let you know that her chart very clearly has an aspect of “profiting from the activities of secret organizations”

I was really surprised to see it- because most of her chart indicates that she is very conservative, not a risk taker but has a huge appetite to be noticed and to be adored. in other words- fame.

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

            oops- famewhore

          • quincyil says:

I actually looked at Al Capone’s list of murder victims recently, because there was a Billy Davern from the north side of Chicago listed. I had a relative with that was shot and who died after a period of time in 1928. One of my family members was researching and they thought this information was about our relative. The death is considered a part of the mass killings associated with Valentine Day Massacre that was in a garage on Lincoln Ave. Again, my family lived close to that. Everyone is gone from that era and this was before my mom’s time. It seems I might have a criminal relative that took a hit and I never knew it. The Manzos and I might have something in common.

            • OneMoreInBoston says:

ahhh the Italians vs. the Irish. Funny how it really hasn’t changed all that much.

            • Adgirl says:

    • WindyCityWondering says:

I think back to Teresa talking to the police after the country club brawl – all stupid and innocent….she didn’t have her ID/driver license with her, she didn’t see or hear or do anything, etc. She is very streetwise and likely well versed in the “finances” that Joe is into as well. No pass for her guilty ass!

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

I agree with error 404- She didn’t know in the same way she doesn’t know about Joe’s affairs.
she looks the other way, and ignores anything that may burst her bubble.

She is pretty good at-oh quincy help me- I think I mean compartmentalizing.S he sees something and files it away under the “do not think about this unpleasant thing” part of her brain.

      • quincyil says:

Teresa is acting like the wives in the Sopranos. I started watching that show, but left when I realized that Tony had no intension of dealing with his issues.

    • BessiB says:

All of the above, klmh. I surmise that she knew they were in trouble (they had already been in court over money) and she was spending like a fool. She probably spent more, the more stressed she became. I did not see the 1st season, but even in the second, Joe was bitching about the money. She just ignored him (or pretended to laugh it off). It is partly denial (she is stupid, so denial is an easy state from there), and partly a sense of “I better send it before it is taken”. Do you really think that a guy, that could go off in front of the camera’s in Italy about the minibar bill, would not totally loose it in private over the cash she tossed away? It is not credible, that in his temper, he did not cuss at her and blow a gasket about how under water he was. She is every bit as culpable as he is.

Further, I think that if there was just a piece of supporting evidence to the testimony of the lawyer that said he called Teresa on the phone and went over the document with her to assure himself it was her signature – such as his corroborating phone records or anther associate to corroborate the story – then Teresa would not have been dismissed from the fraud case.

      • klmh says:

I think Jo thinks he is untouchable. He is a true thug and gangster, imo. I believe he feels he still might dodge another bullet.
In my opinion, had he and his wife not been on this series, his bankruptcy would have gone into effect. All would have been swept under the rug.
I don’t know how much she knows, or knew, and I agree she didn’t want to see what was going on. I don’t know if she could read a contract or any other legal document and understand what it says, but I doubt it. I also can imagine Jo saying ‘just sign it’ and she did, or he didn’t bother to talk with her and signed it himself.
I am not condoning her actions by any means, and I hope she looses what she has, but I want her to loose it because of the way they cheated so many people. I am just saying, yes she is a thug, braggart, rude and crude, but she is stupid. I mean low IQ stupid and I question her involvement with all of the illegal actions involving contracts etc.

  25. quincyil says:

Remember a few weeks ago when a judge gave Teresa an all clear on some of these judments after she and Joe testified that he signed her name and she knows nothing?
Well, if all of this evidence exists, you ‘d think a lawyer would ask the judge to look at the documents. What judge renders a judgment without study?

According to the really, really authentic KooKooPuff, this is HILARIOUS.

Yeah, I am laughing so hard I wet myself. WTF is this chick smoking and where can I get some? And since when does she lend her name to cheap plastic cups?

OMG- we must have those! At least for the bachorlette party in Las Vegas. The theme will be Kellyland and we will all go in costume.

Sadly, that means we will all have very uncomfortable camel toes. (ouchie!)

      • DarkSonnet says:

Probably an accurate analysis on the artistic value of said cups. I think she ran out of ideas for her great “jewelry line” and threw her talents into these cups. They are sitting on her counter top in her apartment.

Probably the only 3 in existence.

      • error 404 says:

*sigh* the only reason why this isn’t funny, is that most of us actually consider Kiki to be mentally ill and in denial. Somehow “Kellyland” cups would be silly if it were Ripa, Osbourne, or ever Rolands, but Bensimone really is in a world of her own design. It’s called a psychotic break.

    • BessiB says:

Q: they probably expected the attorney’s testimony that he went over the document with her on the phone after Joe brought it with her name signed to be compelling enough to show she knew, so as to have given the authority of her signature. (In a criminal case, there could be subpoenas for phone record or other corroborating evidence., but the standard is higher.) But bottom line, I do not know if it makes a difference that the allegations were dismissed against her for this hearing in the case. The other guy was granted his claim.

Classic Bourdain! I will try to find the young bad-boy Bourdain photo that made women who are now “of a certain age” pant and sigh…he’s thin, wearing torn jeans and a sleeveless t-shirt, looking totally “who gives a shit”…

Thanks for the great blog! I really liked this episode until she went back for the 6 week check-up. Disappointed but glad that Sasha got out of Dodge. What a sad episode; it is like some of these people get T and crew to clean up salon and then resume being idiots.

About J&T I wish that they would both end up in orange but instead they get a tv show. I truly despise these people. I just remember T pulling wads of cash out to pay for stuff. Hello! Tax free moola? We all end up paying for these sleezy people and so many try to beat the system! We all end up paying for this and so much more.
Started diet and using a site called sparkpeople.com. It is free and you can track everything. I am snarling so going out to walk the hills. Grrrrrrrr. I hate the beginning of a diet. Adgirl…yep, in SF bay area and admire that you and hubby take to the gorgeous hills of Berkeley when stress/depression hits. I usually end up with sourdough and olive oil…sigh. How I miss my sourdough bread, Acme is calling my name.

I have lost 2 pounds glug glug, that’s me drinking water. 8 glasses, sigh. Snap out of it! Off for the hills.

    • Adgirl says:

      I adore sourdough.
It’s so hard to find the good stuff anymore with the bakeries consolidating.

Of course, even if I found good stuff I can’t eat it. Because I can literally eat 3 loaves by myself.

    • error 404 says:

IIRC, Tabitha accused one of the last salon owners right to their face of just doing the show so they could get a free renovation. I want to say it was the awful couple with no salon experience, but MBAs, but it may have been the 5 people who all co-owned the salon but all refused to do any work. Maybe it was both! lol

      • StillAWallflower says:

On the episode with the 5 owners she did say something to that effect and made them start the work themselves instead of doing it all for them.

      • Adgirl says:

That is lunatic marketing … Look at us on TV! We are idiots who will ruin your hair. But we have new decor! Our 6 week check up reveals we’ve learned nothing and will still ruin your hair. But the paint is looking good. Plus we have new magazines.

        • error 404 says:

In the case of the MBAs from hell, they probably want to use the show to sell the business… good location, new decor, etc… In the case of the 5 lazy folk, they were fighting over spending money on decor and they were probably myopic enough to think that was their only problem.

      • kbinldo says:

It may have started out that way, but in the end, they got rid of the stylist who refused to pay rent & when Tabatha came back, the salon was running very well.

After my mother passed, as we (my nieces and I) were standing in her dressing room looking for some of her jewelry to wear for the funeral. Years before we gave her a jewelry box with songs on it, one being Edelweiss. This was her favorite song. A few years prior to her passing, the box broke. Just broke. Couldn’t wind it at all. So here we are, in her dressing room and guess what happens? The music box starts playing. It starts playing on its own. No one touched it. It starts playing Edelweiss from the beginning. Starts on that song, not the others. I ran and got my sisters so they could hear it as well. We were numb. And so happy. After the service, we tried to play it again. It was broken and is still to this day.

I actually had a yogurt for a snack today, but it didn’t fill me up at all. Oh well…I keep saying that this week is a freebee for me so I need to not care about it yet. I did see pictures of the Holiday party though, and I been feeling down about it 😦

Talk to you guys later after I eat, I will be in better spirits then 😛

      • Adgirl says:

Sometimes I keep sliced grill chicken in my fridge for a snack. It fills me up without going the carb route,

      • buffywood says:

Please don’t feel down about the holiday picture. I have no idea what you look like on the outside, but from your posts I can tell you are a beautiful person on the inside. Relax and just know you are working towards feeling beautiful both in and out! Shortly that picture will be a picture of your past.

      • BessiB says:

I keep a jar of raw almonds on my desk to at least have some when I realize I have not eaten.

  40. sammyjoesmom says:

Sometimes I am just in awe of what you all have to say and I want to respond and yet the words don’t come from my mind to my fingertips and I just sit, literally, with my hands hovering and fidgeting over the keyboard. The day I was diagnosed with colon cancer my mom was right there with me. After we made all the decisions, like where to go; Mayo or Cleveland Clinic (I chose Cleveland Clinic because I had never been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we got into my mom’s car to leave the doctors office. Before my mom started the car, I heard my Aunt Barb, who passed away in 1995,loud and clear say, “You’re gonna be just fine, I’m not gonna see you for a long time.” I immediately smelled her and said “MOM, don’t think I am crazy but what do you smell?” She said, “Oh my gosh, I smell your Aunt Barb.” We both cried with saddness and laughter. We still do when we tell people about it.

  42. quincyil says:

Oh, my…. I have been practicing guest blogging with out a degree…

I was told there was an opening for a guest blogger recently and I didn’t know that it was common to have guest bloggers. In fact, I thought Lynn made it up when she was having different people do blogs.

It turns out that you should study before becoming a guest blogger. You should know your audience and not drag them off into directions that the official blog owner wasn’t going. There’s a whole industry of guest bloggers out there.

Apparently my pretend guest blogging resume requires updating and I may have to go back to guest blogging school. The snarking credits from the (one more in) Boston University require updating too. Those courses are very expensive and time consuming. Jill Zarin had taken back my certificates from her classes at Zarin Fabrics because I used my medium powers actually read her mind. I no longer have the certificate that shows completion of the course in the fabrics of bedding and the credits towards my certifate in bed making are gone too. All I have is my job as an unpublished guest blogger for a famous reality published reality show blogger. I’m sure that after the completion of many courses, I will double my salary. Lynn’s ok with this. She always give people second and third chances. I’m lucky Lynn is my boss.

    • LynnNChicago says:

LMAO I suppose I didn’t originate the “guest blog” in fact, I was a guest blogger on Terry Aley’s site but there sure are copycats out there.

Quincy don’t even think about going anywhere else to guest blog, you’re stuck with us!!

I’m absolutely ok with doubling your salary, twice of nothing is still nothing, right? LMAO At least we get paid the same amount! 🙂

  44. momof7 says:

Does anyone remember when Teresa shared her history with Juicy J. On the season 1 reunion? She said she knew JJ from a babe & that her parents didn’t like him because he was a bad boy or something to that effect.

Clearly they were not without cause in their dislike of him then. No question he retained his “bad boy” tendencies.

So the question is did he condition Teresa to be a thug in a cocktail dress, or has she always had that “inner” thug.

And truly a thug is she.

I don’t know why some ppl get on Caroline for exhibiting protective behavior towards her family in regards to a psychopath, even calling her mobster when Tre-tre and J.J. Clearly exhibit mobster-like behaviors. I like Caroline (an unpopular opinion, I know) & can relate to her protective instincts towards her family.

Teresa’s behavior on & off camera is geared towards the protection of herself & her lifestyle & that’s what makes her “mobster” she will steal & lie to live the life.

    • TEB says:

Welcome Momof7! I would imagine having 7 kids would make you pretty protective of your brood. I can appreciate your perspective on that- I’m kinda neutral on Caroline. I dont like or dislike.
I believe Teresa has always been a Thug and will always be a Thug. (Table flip, head rolling/finger pointing, Country Club chase). She’s gross and a THIEF to boot!! Trashy and disgusting!

    • klmh says:

I agree she is a thug, but its her stupidity that causes her reactions. She isn’t intellectually able to express herself verbally, so she handles it the only way she can, by yelling, screaming and physically bullying others.
Ha, am just watching “American Gangster” and Denzel Washington is telling someone, “The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room”. Describes Teresa to a tee.

      • TEB says:

KLMH- I have never heard that quote. I really like it!! “The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room”

        • TEB says:

It makes me think of my husband (who is always very calm). I am Irish Catholic (I am never calm). He used to say to me “just because you say it louder….doesn’t make you right”
I married him because he was the only one I’ve ever met that knew how to handle me.

          • klmh says:

What is it with us Irish Catholics? I think most of the board has some irish in their blood.

            • TEB says:

Maybe b/c we know how to debate with no consequences? Just like a large Irish Catholic family?

              • quincyil says:

I was wondering why this is so also. My thought is that there is something in our up Irish Catholic culture that makes Jill Zarin’s behavior seem very wrong to us. Her family members and friends in NYC accept her comments and slights seemingly without notice. Alex, who is Midwestern and more like us culturally does not like her comments and does not ignore her slights. I’m glad that someone else noticed this and wondered too. We should be aware of our own biases when we discuss Jill Zarin also. I deal with people from many cultures, but rarely do I think something is wrong. I just see different and accept the difference. Perhaps, the editing affects our perception of Jill so we see her faults and not her good traits and that is why we comment only on the negatives.
Bravo takes away the normal balance that we would see in the real world.

      • Adgirl says:

My friend describes her mother as “the loudest woman in the bar”.
We can all figure out what she meant by that.

Oh no. Are we wandering into Camille wins because she stays calm trap????

  45. lillybee says:

Tree isn’t intelligent but she will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

  46. momof7 says:

    Thank you 🙂

I’m embarrased to say I liked Teresa on the 1st season, I thought she was funny in the sense that she made air-headed comments.

Season 2 changed that! I think her inner thug was “under cover” for a bit. I remember Dina saying she’s never seen Teresa behave that way in all the years she’s known her. I think season 3 will be the ending of her relationship with the Manzos at least with Caroline, if her comments to Teresa @ season 2 reunion were any indication, I’d say their relationship is hanging by a thread, if at all.

    • TEB says:

My pleasure Momof7. (I can’t even imagine being a mom of 7!! Unless it was dogs…) I liked your perspective and I think you will find that most people on this board will respect a different opinion than their own – especially when delivered in the respectful way that you did. 🙂 Cheers! Welcome to many lost hours of your day that is the LynnFam!

      • sammyjoesmom says:

I agree. Rock on Momof7!! Welcome!! I’m not worthy (as I bow down). I have one child and get wiped out. I too, thought Teresa was “cute” in season one and now I can’t stand her. I am always shocked when I see her post something and find she still has people who worship her. I don’t get it.

    • StillAWallflower says:

I’m with you on Teresa (a charter member of thugs-r-us, or maybe thugs-ain’t-we, if ever there was one), but I still don’t know how I feel about Caroline. Something about her rubs me the wrong way. I don’t have a strong reaction to her, though.

(I’m one of 7, so my hat’s off to you. I know we put my mom through hell at times!)

      • Adgirl says:

Season 1 was probably easier for Teresa to be cute because she didn’t have to keep track of her lies.

  47. momof7 says:

    @ TEB

Lol @ the “many lost hours” comment! I’ve been a lurker since Lynn blogged on the hubpages. So I’ve gotten some hours logged 🙂

I feel like I know some of the regular posters & clearly see that this blog is not a “hate” as many assume it is.

I really enjoy the diverse comments & opinions in such a respectful setting. While I may not always agree with Lynn, I give her props for creating/managing a space the fosters such a community and double props for sharing her success with others.

And yes, I have 7 beauties! Having 7 children is so normal to me as I’m sure its shocking to others. I suppose we’re a well oiled machine in our own way. I am definitely not organized in the traditional sense of the word, but everything has its place and everyone knows their boundaries so it works. My youngest is almost 4 months so our oiled machine is being “reconfigured” so far so good.

I truly enjoying having a large family! And am so in love with my babies, they really are sweet 🙂 thanks again for welcoming me!

    • TEB says:

God Bless ya!! My Mother was one of 8- and I always found our family reunions to be hilarious!! Glad you came out of lurk-dom. It took me 6 months and I don’t post as often as I’d like. I’ve got a 2yr and 4yr old. They pull me away just when things get juicy!! Of course, by the time I return- we are onto the next great blog.

  48. StillAWallflower says:

Inspired by buffywood and soon-to-no-longer-be-American Idiot (:-)) I’m seriously thinking of changing my board name.

I’ve been thinking of FlowerPower (it’s a progression from my current name, and a connection to my mom and grandmother, plus I love flowers).

Does anyone know if this name is in use out there in cyberland where y’all are posting? I’d hate to be mistaken for someone I’m not, assume someone else’s identity, or step on any toes.

    • lillybee says:

I haven’t seen FlowerPower on any of the sites I visit. Go for it. That name reminds me of my hippy days.

      • StillAWallflower says:

My older sibs were hippies 🙂
And my daughter definitely has the hippy-vibe.
I also worked for years as a grower at a greenhouse/farm.

I had been thinking of maybe just using the name of a flower (I could be Hyacinth or Daisy from Keeping Up Appearances–I often think of that show when watching the Housewives).

I kinda like FlowerPower though. I’ll sleep on it 🙂

    • Cusi77 says:

FlowerPower is…. empowering! Just like your comments are! Go for Girl!

    • sammyjoesmom says:

Maybe we can all have a theme and change our names accordingly. Just a thought. I know I’d like something more original, Thoughts?

      • StillAWallflower says:

I’ve been contemplating a change for a while, so when I saw buffywood’s comment I took it as a sign to go for it.

It’s funny how powerful a name (even a made-up one for a blog) can be. I’ve been lurking since Lynn’s blog was on hubpages. It’s taken me a long time to let myself post.

Maybe you could brainstorm based on other things you like/do/watch/read.

        • quincyil says:

For a while give both names we we can gradually switch over. I like following the thoughts of all of our board members. The new name is cool.

I just read this on Dlisted:
**Blind Items (posted under a picture of Giggy dressed as a cowboy)
This controversial Real Housewives star is about to have some added drama in her life. The tabloids are working overtime to get a bunch of stories about our Housewife and her glory days as a hooker. Not anyone in New York or New Jersey. (CDAN)
This has nothing to do with the animatronic Ewok named Giggy, I just needed an excuse to post a picture of him. So this is someone from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Atlanta or Orange County. Out of those 3, the only trick who could command top dollar for their sweet parts is Lawrence from RHOA so I’m going to guess him (but it’s probably Camille).**
Totally Camille. I can remember hearing the mid-east hooker rumors when they were first married. I think it’s just a matter of time before one of the women who worked with her over there comes out and tells everything. Is hooking around the globe considered morally corrupt?

    • Adgirl says:

      errr. Giggy = Lisa.

Only I do not believe it could be Lisa because she has been married to Ken forever and he had money when they met.

    • Waxdiva says:

No question about it… it’s Camille. I did a piece on her… she was one of Prince Jefri’s (Saudi Arabia) favorites.

FYI: all of the ‘blind’ items from all sources end up on this site where they put clues in the accompanying photo and for this particular ‘blind (cough, cough)’ item, the photo is the RHOBH:

By the comments, it’s unanimous that it’s Camille Grammer.
