Million Dollar Listing Week 3 By Quincy IL

Madison has a meeting with Imir where they discuss the offer made last week.  Imir demands that a vintage white car and the furniture be sold with the house at a price lower than listed.  The agent, Bert, representing the seller speaks to the seller several times. The house has 3 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, a pool and an amazing kitchen.  It is located in the Hollywood Hills with a spectacular view.  Imir orders Madison to “do it now!” Madison warns him that negotiations sometimes fall apart and that the price is important.  Imir tells him $2, 100,000 for the house, the furniture and the car.  Madison begins to question Imir. Imir tells Madison, “You are not buying this house.

Josh Altman kisses his dogs goodbye. He is dressed in a suit and tie with black shiny shoes. He likes his style.  He meets Mauricio Umansky, the husband of Kyle Richards from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in Kyle’s kitchen for melon, strawberries and coffee. Both men take multiple phone calls and are not talking to each other about the house that Mauricio wants to share for 50% commission, 50% expenses, and 50% work time.  A final call comes on Josh A’s phone and it is his mom. They make a deal.

Josh Flagg meets his mom at Petrossian Restaurant to test his knowledge of caviar.  They try several types and his mother can taste the difference between farm grown and foreign. Josh F can not.  Josh blames his mom for his state of being “a son of a bitch.”  Josh receives a call from Elizabeth Harandi, a former neighbor.  She has a house that she wants to sell. Josh’s mom sees some caviar in his teeth and she tells him to “come here” while she uses her finger to take the caviar away.

Madison meets with Bert to discuss the sale of a house to Imir.  Burt says the price is $2,300,000 and the car is not for sale.  Madison pushes Imir to $2,100,000 for the house with furniture and no car.  The home owner moves to $2,200,000 and the deal falls apart. Madison looks shocked. Imir then blames Madison who says the buy might still sell in a couple of days, but Imir fires Madison saying, “Why do I need you if I have to pay the full price.”

Josh F discusses a home of a friend. The house is 2,348 sq ft and completely renovated. There are 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, “a sleek Italian kitchen” with hidden ventilation.  There are city and canyon views.  The master bath has a sunken tub with a huge glass shower. Former neighbors were Kenny Rodgers and Gypsy Rose Lee.  Susan Sommers lives in Gypsy’s house now.  Josh F accepts the $3,100,000 that the friend wants to list at, but makes sure that she understands that the price should be $2,995,000.

Madison is at the Malibu beach and we see sea gulls.  He has a new client Dr. Shaw.  This is George Forman’s old house which was gutted and rebuilt.  It is 5,218 ft sq, has an open kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and privacy.  The range for the price will be $5.500, 000 to $6,000,000.  The commission would be $170,850.

Josh A is getting dressed in a suit again for the open house for Mauricio Umansky’s client. He is nervous because this is a huge deal.  The house is 3,772 sq ft, located in the Hollywood Hills, 4 bedrooms, 7 baths, a guest house, an infinity pool. The own is there for the showing, which no one is enthusiastic about other than the owner.  It is a well known house and designer. Josh A has advertised and he is worried that the broker’s showing might be a failure.  In time, agents come in and they love the house.  They all have to wear booties to protect the floors.  Mauricio shows up half way through the open house and the owner says, “Your guy Josh is doing a great job. I really like him.”

Josh F meets with Grandma Edith who suggests that Josh F hire her assistant because he does not answer the phone when she calls him. He agrees that an assistant is a good idea, but he tells us he will acquire an unpaid intern. He interviews several candidates and “hires” twin blond girls who are smart and are willing to work in order to learn about real estate in Beverly Hills.

Madison has an open house at the Malibu beach front house. The weather is perfect. He

Is going to feed people so they remember the house and he has giant cookies. The price is $5,500,000.  It is 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Madison meets someone he knows who is going through a divorce and that means Madison might get another house listing. Later, Madison visits a friend for a small dinner party to meet someone that he might date. The two men look alike and dress alike, but Madison is still fretting over her ex partner.

Shelly, his friend, tells Madison, “to buck up buttercup.”

Josh A and Mikey arrive at the Sierra Mar property which is a listing of Mauricio Umansky. The listing price is $8, 995,000.  A woman is interesting in leasing the property for $50,000 per month.  Josh A and Mauricio meet with the owner and tell him that leasing is a good idea as the market should be better next years.  Mauricio touches the man’s shoulder to reassure him.  He accepts the lease for one year at $600,000.

Thank you Quincy for this great recap of the LA boys, Josh, Josh and Madison.

Here is a book review of Cat Ommanney’s book, Inbox Full by our very own Vincent C.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

Inbox Full by Cat Ommanney a Review- written by Vincent Cosentino

Inbox was full was a dynamic memoir filled with many adventures and wild escapades all based on one fascinating woman, Catherine Ashley!  The memoir was absolutely riveting, and it was quite difficult to cease reading.  Cat had everything that she had ever wished for; a house by the sea on an Island off the coast of Spain filled with sunshine, a devoted husband and father, and the solitude of living in peace. Yet, several moments of eye contact with a Swiss banker, in a restaurant abroad in the United Kingdom, had changed her life forever.

These moments lead a journey to her heart and forced her to ponder whether she remains complaisant to her husband, family and friends, or to completely change her life.

Months of ambivalence had taken a toll on the issue, and she decided to follow her heart, and she made the decision based what was best for her and her two loving daughters.  All that had ensued demonstrated the true nature of what Cat was made of as she battled hardships; living as a single mother in London whilst supporting her daughters financially and emotionally, and simultaneously trying to have some sort of social life with some of her gentleman callers.

A fascinating aspect of the memoir was that it enabled its readers to travel abroad with Cat!  A plethora of destinations were traveled to, which included Spain, France, Italia, Thailand, Dubai, Switzerland, The United States, Barbados, and of course, the Peruvian Amazonian Jungle where she had participated in a ritual to release the past.

Cat’s memoir is something that everyone can relate to because it mainly discusses her relationship problems, and that is something quite universal.  We all have hopes and dreams for ourselves. Sometimes they work out for us, and some of them shatter right before our own eyes.  We are all looking to find love and happiness, and Cat has demonstrated that it may come in the price of emotional turmoil; nevertheless, freedom is an important theme to ponder, and subsequently, rebirth as well.

Rebirth is depicted in the novel through a variety of experiences, and Cat has always managed to start fresh and anew after each tumultuous episode, and yet  I am certain that the light that shines in her, shines even brighter due to her trials, tribulations, and tests of faith. A beautifully written memoir- 5 Stars!

Thank you for sharing your review of Cat’s book with us, I’m sure she’ll love that you loved it!

  1. MickeyMouth says:

Thanks for the blog Lynn. Have they heard anything about a Season 2 for RHODC?

  2. VincenzoNewYork says:

Thank you Quincy for the recap! Thank you Lynn for posting my review on the blog!!

  3. Bobbi says:

Best part of Million Dollar Listing for me last night was Maks from Dancing With The Stars showing up. I hope he’ll be on this next season. He’s just back from the “The Bachelor” on the first season in the Ukraine! LOL!

  4. HD says:

I love my mini Ari Gold on Million Dollar Listing. I’m not quite sure why I like him but I really do. 🙂

The assistants-If that wasn’t for TV I don’t know what was. Pretty women will always sale anything.

Nice to hear thta Cat has a book that gets 5 stars. I can relate to all that you mentioned and in life all we want is a little piece of happiness. I hope she has found hers.

    • quincyil says:

I have to order her book now. Vince confinced me.

I really have to admit I was wrong about Cat. I thought she was what Bravo portrayed her to be and she is in reality a straight shooter. Her perspective as a British citizen is different from mine. British Humor is not my cup of tea. She is really a housewife with chores like us it seems. She did actually cook in the series.

So… I think I have to figure out where her book is for sale. If she is selling it herself, how do we find it?

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

awww. ty Q. She is a socialtie on the weekend, devoted mother during school evenings and nights, and interior designer during the day. She is a hard worker!!! After her divorce from her first husband, she had do it all by herself!!!

  5. Brigid A. says:

Great job, Quincy and Vinny! Thank you both for the recaps. I’m enjoying Million $ Listing, living vicariously seeing all those beautiful houses in Malibu and the Hollywood Hills. Not crazy about some of the interiors, so sterile, but hey, with an ocean view or hillside, I’d not be comlaining.

I like the two Josh’s but not Madison so much. He must know what he’s doing though since Malibu is his area.

Another poster clarified last night that Josh A’s first meeting with Mauricio is in Mauricio & Kyle’s kitchen. Wasn’t sure if it was M’s fancy office or his home. That clears up the mystery of Mauricio’s missing and re-appearing wedding band on his hand. It was hard to miss since the cameras focused on Mauricio pouring coffee, talking on the phone (no ring), and then he is wearing it in a later shot. Kyle probably keeps it prominently displayed next to the coffee pot!!! Besides, she knows his location at all times so who cares about a silly ring?

    • Kansas Girl says:

I made a mental note to always decline coffee when invited to their house. Did you see how thin it was? More like tea. Ugh. I like a dark brew.

What? You don’t think I’ll be invited? I’m pretty sure the phone will ring any time.

      • Brigid A. says:

KG, hadn’t noticed the weak coffee! But the two of us combined noticed a lot in that kitchen scene! LOL!

Oh, and while declining coffee in the Umansky kitchen, just be sure not to make googly eyes at Mauricio! Someone named Kyle may come flying through that kitchen door at any minute!

  6. sss says:

Great recap, but this show has become a real snooze. I predict this is the last year..

    • Brigid A. says:

      Isn’t this M$L’s first season? I’m confused.

      • LynnNChicago says:

No, MDL has been around for 3 years now. Josh Almond is new this season, we used to be inflicted with Chad Rodgers.

        • Brigid A. says:

Thanks for clarifying, Lynn. Not familiar with Chad Rogers but I was impressed with Josh Altman. Madison was so amused to see Josh “dressed up” in Malibu.

    • quincyil says:

I love the houses. There is another show on at the same time called, “Selling New York” on HGTV. I am able to record both.

I have to watch the show again and looke for someone that Bobbi noted called Max. I don’t know a lot of other reality stars so I had no idea he was famous.

I did see that it was Kyle’s kitchen, but where was stay at home mom, Kyle?

The phone game was fun. I bet their lives are linked to their phones/blackberries.

I also wondered if Imir intended to go back into the negotiation for that house without Madison and save the commission.

Didn’t you love the reassuring shoulder touch from Mauricio when he was trying to help the owner of the most expensive home lease for one year? I bet Maurico lights up the room when he enters. There are people with incredible talents like this.

      • Brigid A. says:

Agree, Quincy. I think Josh A. has the same people skills demonstrated by Mauricio, but in a different manner. M has probably been in the business a lot longer.

Maksim C. (I think he’s Ukrainian and I can’t spell his last name!) was featured on Dancing with the Stars. He’s very talented.

        • quincyil says:

The twin girls looked intelligent too. They wanted to go into the Beverly Hill market so good for them.

It seems that knowing people who have the money helps them get listings to sell and buyers to take to listed homes.

          • Brigid A. says:

I was skeptical when Josh A decided to hire the blonde twins! Didn’t it seem like a comical setup with the 2 of them interviewing together? I liked the later scenes of Josh’s on-the-job training. The twins were intelligent and not intimidated!

          • Amber...RealWife says:

One was smarter than the other! LOL The one on the far right was answering the questions in a more articulate manner.

It never ceases to amaze me how the rich stay rich. A free intern vs. having a seasoned salaried employee, or heck even entry level. Let’s face it these Real-a-tors, just use these interns to babysit the homes, clean and stage, get coffee, lunch and pick up dry cleaning. JoshF seemed to be breaking the rules by having the twins talk about the home. JoshA rightly, insisted his intern not speak on anything regarding the home.

            • quincyil says:

The twins had parents in the reality business and they might have licenses. I thought they wanted to learn the BH market and get their feet in the door. He’s training his future competition.

      • quincyil says:

Also, what is with the leasing for the house that was listed at $8,995,000. I see that $50,000 a month with a one year lease is $600,000; but why not sell. Mauricio just sold his house the other day. Maybe, they had another buyer in mind and didn’t share that with us.

If Josh Altman works with the Umansky Group, we might be seeing a lot of “stars” looking at homes or selling homes.

        • Brigid A. says:

Q, in this market, I can understand why the seller accepted a one-year lease until hopefully there is an upturn in the market. If he’s not on an urgent timetable to sell, he’s getting some hefty cash flow through the lease income.

I don’t think Mauricio’s house was anywhere near the almost $9.0 million asking price of last night’s seller’s house, but I could be wrong. Mauricio and Kyle were in Bel Air. Even in SoCal, it’s likely a challenge to find qualified, motivated buyers in those exclusive areas.

          • quincyil says:

Mauricio’s house was around 2 M at the end..

I really liked their house. If I win a lottery, I will buy in both NYC and LA so we at IHJZ with have places to meet. We can have Jeff Lewis help us with the renovations.

            • Brigid A. says:

Q, that is my dream life! A beautiful Manhattan apartment and a home here in SoCal. Maybe Mauricio and Josh could find us something oceanfront in Malibu! Or hillside for those who prefer that view. I’m all in!!!!

              • quincyil says:

We will shop together, but we won’t get dressed up or wear heels. We won’t rent an enterprise red Mustang either.

We…will rent a Cadillac and wear torn blue jeans with silk blouses and lots of bling!

                • Brigid A. says:

Sounds perfect! Q, you are so efficient that I think you are the ideal person to contact Mauricio or Josh.

Perhaps I’d better be a little, ahem..kinder…towards Kyle here, but I doubt Mauricio would decline a good deal! LOL!

      • Bobbi says:

        Quincy,

Maks was the guy Josh Altman brought to Madison’s listing in Malibu. He’s the one that’s been looking around for more than a year. Josh said the house didn’t hit everything he was looking for. Sure would like to know what else he wanted! But, they also said it was overpriced. Madison got so offended being told that even though he thinks it is too.

        • quincyil says:

Thank you … I have him in my mind right now. I just didn’t catch that he was a celebrity.

Have you noticed that Madison’s Malibu ocean front rental which is a $5,000 a month lease, really looked old? I know an architect from Malibu who has a firm in that area and he was renting a house just like that. The house sold for $8, 500,000 and the new owners tore it to the ground. They were interested in the lot, not the house. This architect also told me that canyon fires help his business. There are winds that blow from the ocean and sweep the fires over the mansions, then the owners get insurance and rebuilt with architects designing.

      • Crisanna says:

I also noticed Mauricio use the word “nice” again. That’s the same word he used when Kyle’s hair stylist was talking about going to the white party and everyone thought he was being too flirty. I think it’s just him and that’s a word he uses often.

  7. quincyil says:

Cat Ommanney’s book is limited and out of print…
Is there another place to look other than Amazon?

    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cat+ommmaney&x=14&y=21

  8. vilzvet says:

Watching Actors Studio with Charlie Sheen. I guess this is very recent? He seems so freakin’ normal here. Ah well…

    • quincyil says:

They have only had a new Colin Firth interview in this season. I have two tv dvrs on record for that show. If I find a schedule, I will share. Bravo tv has issues with schedules. They change programming at the drop of a hat.

    • T-REX says:

Actually that Charlie Sheen interview was from 2007, I watched it too.

  9. VincenzoNewYork says:

I just wanted to add that it was percieved that Cat’s first husband was truly devoted…we learn so much about him. I read a negative review on Amazon.com, she did not sleep around! There were lovers..but her memoir spans about 4 years! Also, it was tastefully written without any graphic content. We can use our own imaginations to decipher what occured behind the writing.

The last entries depict her relationships with Charles/ ‘Carl.’ Hence, we kind of know what had transpired with him…so that will be in Book 2!

    • quincyil says:

LOL… now I really want to know what is in it. Are you sure you are not a PR person ? I think you have a gift for making people want to know more? lol..

    • Brigid A. says:

Vinny, I’m curious about what drew you to Cat & found her interesting/appealing enough to buy her book? I was not a fan of RHDC overall and another season would not hold my interest.

Her marriage to Charles appears to have been strained by their decision to appear in the show, and then she wrote a “tell-all” book! Even if she changes names and uses discretion, we all know who he is.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

@Brigid: I just loved her…she seemed so interesting, and she really is. Actually, her current memoir started as a diary just writing her thoughts down. It was a gift from her friend, and then somewhere in the middle of the memoir, she wanted to try to eventually publish it. There is so much to her then what was shown on the show. She has a remarkable story, and she had so much strength to follow her heart and do what is best for her daughters. She met so many fascinating people throughout her journey. Volume 2 will be about the implosion of her marriage to Charles, which she noted she saw some of the warning signs of his nature prior to her second marriage.

@Q: I was told by my phsycic to try to pursue a career in PR. I think I would be good at it. I also like healing people and helping them change, so I am pursuing a path in mental health and wellness.

    • quincyil says:

9 by Design will be reviewed on this site so you can discuss the show with friends. I think that is going to be a fun show.

  11. HD says:

My goodnes! I read the RCH blog that Lynn pointed. Drama! Major drama. I am not sure who the Jennifer Sales woman is but she sure did post a lot of her personal business on her blog. Why would she do that?

One thing I have learned is never go online and post anything when you are mad or drunk. You just look like a fool the next day. I kinda of feel bad for her having such a private thing as her failing marriage fall apart for all the world to see.

Also…I see on RCH blog a blond woman with sunglasses on then I saw something else and it was an older lady with a bunch of little gnomes. Which one is her? If it is the older lady she is fiesty!!

    • Kat says:

The “marriage” was annuled years ago.
HD, this woman has more lies than underwear.
She attacked RCH and Lynn months ago and has continued to do so including posting outright lies.

    • Brigid A. says:

Isn’t there a joke floating around about breathalizer keyboards? LOL! Have not been following the Jen Sales drama, but there are definitely more than a few HW’s who let it all hang out during Twitter wars. Have zero interest in Twitter just from what’s been posted here.

      • HD says:

@ Brigid. It seems on twitter this happens a lot I guess because it is just so fast and people can retweet so quickly and whatnot. You say one thing and in less than a second thousands of people are able to read it. People need to think before they post.

This woman (Jennifer) has put all her business in the street and now she has deleted her blog and her Twitter apparently. Well its far too late. There are screen shots of what she said. It just looks so bad.

@Kat…I didn’t know her marriage was over already. She seems like one of those people that may need to step away from the virtual world for a minute and deal with her real life situation. Forgot Housewives blogging, she has enough going on in her own life to keep her busy for a lifetime.

    • LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

HD – The blonde with the sunglasses is Reese Witherspoon, I believe. Real City Housewife is just using that picture on her blog???????

The older woman with the gnomes is supposed to be Really Old Housewife of Manatee County, but I don’t think it is really her. Someone just posted the picure saying it was her???????

If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me.

      • colibrimoon says:

You are correct LavaLady. The photo on RCH’s blog is not her and the lady with the gnomes was posted on ImaJustSaying blog as a joke abt RealOldHousewife.

        I hope this is clear.

  12. Amber...RealWife says:

The old saying if you’ve got nothing nice to say… take a seat! Your blocking the mic! LOL

I’m glad that Vinny has enjoyed his copy of Cat’s book. Above, I laughingly told him he broke my heart, but I understand that we’ll never all agree, and everyone is entitled to their opinions. So when I read the above post, where he mentioned how her romances were tastefully written, I thought “Cat…DC CAT…tasteful?” and couldn’t wrap my head around it. Then learning the Charles “Carl”, (roll eyes) romance/trainwreck will be discussed in book 2…BOOK 2!!, I wanted to comment “SNORT…RIVETING, Must PreOrder!” But I didn’t. I brought it down here! LOL

My distaste for Cat is based on the character which she either played or portrayed herself to be. She was horrible, insensitive, rude, obnoxious, crude, mocking, a mean girl who was also a crybaby and racially insensitive. Not because of her dislike for Obama, whom I love, or Tyra who I don’t care for, but for her actions when dealing with others outside of her culture. Before anyone jumps down my throat, picture this…

What guest goes to a devout Italian Catholic household for dinner, starts talking badly about the Pope and the Catholic Church, says the Vatican is a tacky museum, insists BingCrosby was better than FrankSinatra and acts disgusted with the food and wine served?! A crazy nut right? UnclePauly would have taken them out back for an ItalianStyle beatdown or at least kicked them the hell out of the house, never to return!

Well that’s how I see Cat. A horrible dinner guest at the table of life, who likes to monopolize the conversation, always criticizing everything, dishing out insults yet this gravely voiced truck driver, acts like a wounded dove when given the same treatment and seeks out protection. I call BULLOCKS!

    • Brigid A. says:

Amber, I can understand your reaction to Cat. She seems to be one of those women who can appear abrasive and rude to some yet refreshingly honest and quirky to others. I really don’t have a strong opinion because the DC season held no interest for me. After the BH season with all the screaming, insults and lunging in limos, the DC ladies seem mild by comparison!

And I can’t speak for Italian Catholics, but being of Irish Catholic ancestry myself, I can assure you that many people think it’s funny and not at all offensive to bash all things Catholic, even guests in our own homes, in the workplace, at parties. It has become socially acceptable and I think a lot of people don’t think it’s even offensive.

      • Amber...RealWife says:

Yes I’m Catholic too, and I know bashing takes place and is acceptable, as many comedians make a living at it and I have laughed too! However, ya have to know your audience. That’s why I mentioned “devout”, meaning the little widows dressed in black daily, who take their religion seriously and the Pope is considered a step away from God! Or maybe I could’ve said A rabid Yankees fan in a RedSox house, or a lone loud mouth Packers fan in Steeler territory insulting the spread! LOL

        • Brigid A. says:

The sports’ fan insults are probably more relatable to a lot of people! I have some diehard football and basketball friends and the fur can fly among them even on Facebook!

Amber, we’ll wait for Kim Richards memoirs. Wouldn’t it be great if she gave Cat some competition???

          • Amber...RealWife says:

And that’s just it! It’s all subjective. I would consider Kim’s book to be a must have, even if it was full of run on sentences,(my favorite lol), bad grammar and poorly edited. As long as she gives the TEA on her acting gigs, TigerBeat days, teen years, love life, her mom, Kyle ,Kathy and RHOBH it would be worth the money.

            • Brigid A. says:

She has such a quirky sense of humor and seems to be the kind of friend I’d like to hang out with. Hope she is doing well and keeping her distance from Kyle and her mean-girl friend trio of Faye, Lisa and Taylor.

        • twoile says:

@A, ITA know with whom you are speaking!!!!!!!! humor/insults, jovial vs offended.

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

@Amber: lol, you’re entitled to your opinions. Maybe one day we will reach a middle-ground. lol. I respect what you have written and I do see your point of view. I feel that she was ‘supposed’ to be the villain on the show, but the Salahis took center stage, and then we saw her in a different light. These shows really can alter the truth of someone and distort a person’s personality. She was also in a vulnerable time in her life, and sometimes we act out of character when we are under duress. The past five years has been a difficult time in her life. I also think some of her comments were culturally British. They behave differently then their American counterparts.
When I meant tastefully written, I was trying to convey that she depicted her relationships without using any graphic details, therefore it wasn’t a memoir that exploited her sexual encounters to sell it to readers. I actually don’t think sex was a major part of the memoir, it was there, but it was more than sex. She fell in and out of love, and she was yearning to find true love.

Again,I think you are too funny, and you do have valid opinions and viewpoints, and you are absolutely entitled to what you believe.

      • California35 says:

I went back and forward with her, but for the most part I thought she was funny.

I LOVED it when she use her snark on the people we don’t like…so that might have helped my attitude tours her 🙂

I felt for her at some points also, like when she went to the family dinner with one of the cast mates…I can’t rmember her name (the realtor). There was a lot of talk about why she was uncomfortable there…I only saw it like she just didn’t know the people and she was uncomfortable…I didn’t think it was race or money or anything like that. I have been there, going to a place where I don’t know anyone, so I take a back sit if I have to stay.

The Tyra and Obama thing seemed to me like she just expressed her opinion – but she was taken too seriously… the crow still didn’t know her… I thought it was funny, but no one laughed. Maybe she could have stoped if/once she noticed they didn’t like what she had to say.

I am not like her at all, yet I like her. I will read her book.

        • Amber...RealWife says:

The one time I felt sympathy for her was when her marriage ended. I hate to see anyone suffer through a break up and she did look genuinely hurt. However, when she claimed her husband wanted her to stay at home, when she was CONSTANTLY filmed snarking, drinking wine and never missing an event, it appeared disingenuous. If he wanted her to stay home she never did.

          • Brigid A. says:

The few scenes that Charles participated in were painful to watch. Towards the end, wasn’t there a kitchen scene with Cat, Charles and the girls? Cat seemed to be sulking and Charles looked like he wanted to be invisible.

I feel for anyone enduring divorce but I can’t believe she didn’t see the relationship deteriorating even before filming. And she whined that he was never home when she KNEW that he was a professional man without much personal time.

            • California35 says:

Yeah that was sad 😦 I hope she is doing well now. She has her daughters and this book out now. Is she in the States or did she go back to Europe?

      • Amber...RealWife says:

Vinny I have fallen in love! That’s it, you’ve done it. I LOVE U!

I will allow, LOL, you to love your Cat without criticizing her in your posts! Only because of you! Write away, darling, knowing that while my anyeurism is boiling, I will NOT say a word on your post or torture you with my snarky jokes at HER expense. It’s still open season on any originating thought, that I have, so if you see Amber…RealWife and DC CAT, stroll on by as you may not like it. LOL

BTW you’ll get no breaks on JillZarin. Sorry Bub! 🙂

        • VincenzoNewYork says:

haha!!! Oh please do comment on my posts. You do make valid viewpoints. lol. Well, if your ‘favorite’ NYC housewife was kinder to her supporting fans, I would have been more inclined to reading her book, and I would have written some positive reviews for it. So, I may be joining you soon!! lol.

  13. California35 says:

Hi everyone! Happy FRIDAY to you all!!!

Quincy – THANKS for the recap on MM…I have not watched it yet, but I will tonight.
Every time I come to the blog, I get pulled out so no worries. Last night I said I didn’t want to sound like Vicky from OC, but I hope I also don’t sound like B…complaining that I have no time :-P. So instead, I have been away. I am just trying to focus on work, and get to the blog when I get a chance. As usual, I guess, but more so right now. I still wanted to tell you all that I miss coming here. I am behind on the reading, and so there is no point on commenting on something old. If I can comment on it while it is still fresh I will 🙂

VincenzoNewYork – thanks for your recap on Cat’s book. It sounds like a novel, but nonfiction. I am interested to read it, and I can’t believe you already finish reading it. Didn’t you just get it? You are a fast reader 🙂 I just learned how to buy/load books into my ipad, and am tempted to buy it there…I have not had time to read much, so I will see. Cat should thank you for the recap because it gave us more information on it, but not too much to ruin it, to get us interested 🙂

Lynn, again thank you for creating this place for us to gather here.

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

@California: Ty, yes she actually DMed thanking me. She is a sweetheart. I read like 60 pages on day 1, after finishing Winesburg, Ohio, then 90 and 90 on the second and third day lol.

      • California35 says:

She did?!! That was nice of her.
One- she reads this — Hi Cat!! 🙂
Two – she took the time to thank you.

        You are fast!!!

      • Brigid A. says:

OK, Vinny, now I’m dying to know: did Cat have a “flirty” relationship with Prince Harry? Reading between the discreet wording and name changes? LOL!

        • VincenzoNewYork says:

aww, I can’t share that information. It would ruin it for many people, and I think Cat would be upset if I shared too many details. lol. If you are not planning on reading it, I will share whatever you like privately. You can ask Lynn for my email adress, if she knows yours.

    • Brigid A. says:

Morning, California! I’m glad you took a coffee break with us! LOL! I hope chatting here with friends is a nice diversion from work and refreshes your energy. But I had to smile because I’m sure I heard Bethenny say she’s tired or her schedule is hard during that last clip of the preview for Bethenny Ever After. Bethenny, please!!!! I will lose interest very quickly if she doesn’t stop complaining.

      • vilzvet says:

I just read the US article because I got it in the mail today. Lots of old photos and it certainly looked like her mother’s attitude towards body image rubbed off on Bethenny.

      • California35 says:

This can get addictive thought 😛 and I came back lol Maybe it is because it is friday and want to be a rebel. By the time I can come here everyone is gone to sleep . . . 😦

I love the Josh’s. They’re quirky and excentric even at their young ages and they exude confidence.Madison is sweet and laid back. More of a California style which fits his Malibu clients. It was a hoot seeing Mauricio and Maksim on the show. I’m a sucker for crossovers. That Imir guy was obnoxious and unreasonable. What an Oaf! Madison never should have caved to bringing him on negotiation mtg. Outcome was innevitable. Great book review Vinnie. After this and RCH’s and Lynn’s interviews, I really want to read Cat’s book. I always liked her. Love Love Love British humor.

  15. Mimisfbay says:

Great blog…love the Josh’s and Madison too. It was a hoot to see Mauricio…you noticed his ring? Wow. I enjoy looking at the SoCal properties.

Thanks for the book review…was a fan of Cat and thought it amazing that she responded to Lynn’s interview questions while at a train station. What a woman!

Anyway, thanks Vince I also hope to pick up the book. Sounds like a great read and I will add it to my Shelfari so friends can read about it.

Watched E news and Kathy Hilton was on to talk about Paris Hilton’s birthday. They also interviewed Kim twice…no aunt Kyle. Hmmmmmm
    Ciao!

  16. Kelly finally got her Twitter name verified. LOL

kellybensimon: Im officially @kellybensimon. I got verified!!! I also am keeping @kkbensimon so noone has to worry about false tweets. Woohooooooooooo

  17. AZ Girl says:

Imir is a moron. There is no way the seller is going to hand over that car. It a collector item worth hundreds of thousands. Serious car dealers only sell at auction to other dealers. Seller won’t deal with Imir if he not represented by a broker. Too risky.
According to Perez Hilton, Camille will be working the red carpet at the Oscars. A job Jillzy would die for and instead Jill is begging Jimmy Fallon on Twitter for a job. I think Camille is going to do well. As Camille said last night “suck it, Kyle”

    • Margo says:

She’s going to make somebody or a couple of somebodies really jealous now. She’s the breakout star.

      • AZ Girl says:

She is and I can’t wait to see how everyone reacts. Kyle and her PR marathon is dust now.

      • California35 says:

One of the “somebodies” said she could get back to work since she prefered to be a mom….Maybe after seeing Camille getting some work, she will her herself some 4 nannies to try to work also. 😛

      • Crisanna says:

No, she’s going to make them “jelly”

    • California35 says:

Really!? So she is working – good for her!! I will be watching the Oscars, so I will try to look her up….

    • Brigid A. says:

After seeing a couple of clips from Camille’s debut on that sitcom last night, I thought she did pretty well!

Camille really needs a new makeup artist and her friend DeDe should find another line of work. She’s an attractive woman but her eye makeup always looks like she slapped it on quickly and ran out the door. The solid upper lid eyeliner without any lower eyelash mascara or eyeliner looks unfinished and gives her a tired, puffy eyed look.

      • vilzvet says:

Yes I always thought that as well. But I thought it was her male friend who did her makeup, and Deedee did the hair? In any case I agree her eyes always look underdone or something.

    • twoile says:

Lynn you’re boring me today. Can’t you commit a felony or grand larceny for some excitement? I want to see mug shots and some rap sheets up in here.

Quincy? can’t you hit Harvey over the head with your new wheelbarrow and get yourself arrested or something…

I need some dramz- some bald faced lying- some naked men- (well why not?) I want it all.

  19. AZ Girl says:

Cat does come across somewhat abrasive but from reading Vinny’s review above she has seen more of life and the outside world than maybe some of the other DC Housewives. She may find them somewhat “unworldly” compared to the lifestyle she has chosen.

I don’t think Cat is trying to be rude. I like her honesty. But, if someone fake like the Salahi’s do grace her presence you can bet she will call them out.

“… Research your state’s laws and statues for criminal expungement. Some crimes have a mandatory waiting period from the date of conviction before you can begin the expunging process. For example, most states have a 7 year waiting period for felonies, and a 2 year waiting period for misdemeanors. Also while you are researching, check to be sure your conviction qualifies. Most nonviolent crimes do, but different states have different laws. Researching can be done through a simple internet search, or going to your local courthouse and utilizing the law library.
…At the hearing, the judge will weigh your motion and case and enter a judgment granting or denying your request. If the request is granted you record will be cleared for basic background checks, and if it is denied, your criminal record will stand. Usually if the motion is denied, the judge will be specific in their ruling as to why you were denied. ”

IIRC, Harvey was a heavy drinker who often led Virgil astray, but mostly because we constantly wanted Virgil to go hang out in downtown in bars, and Virgil was an alcoholic who’s sister and niece wanted to stay sober. He was sorta Kyle to Virgil’s Kim.. “guess who drinks all damn day!”

Anywho, I’m afraid he’s probably passed out in Quincy’s prize “wheelbarrel” right now, but poor Q who can’t hold her booze is probably riding a horse thru town wearing nothing but her Lady Godiva suit. I expect her next recap blog to star toff like: “This will have to be quick, as I only have 3 minutes and there is a line of inmates wanted to check their emails…. anyway, as LaShanelle said in the rec room last night ‘That Josh guy is pretty hot for an ass bandit! I’d totally jump his bones and then jack his bling before he woke op. I bet that old granny’s got mad cash under her mattress.’ … then I missed the end of the show because 4 or the girls all hit this one girl Jen who stole from the church or something, with some soap bar inside a sock. (Ouch!) and TV privledges were suspended”

    • Kat says:

I think Harvey is really a 10 ft tall White Rabbit ala Jefferson Airplane.
It explains Harvey’s sudden appearance. Alice lives in Q’s basement too.

  32. Cusi77 says:

    Thanks Lynn!

    Good evening everyone!

    To Vincent:

Thank you for your review in Cat’s book. I am glad that you enjoyed it!

“Months of ambivalence had taken a toll on the issue, and she decided to follow her heart, and she made the decision based what was best for her and her two loving daughters.”

based on this paragraph (I haven’t read the book) I respectfully disagree that Cat did what was best for her daughters but herself… I did not had any idea Cat had EVERYTHING but decided to follow her heart despite that she took every piece of stability from her daughters. IMO That is selfish.

    • Amber...RealWife says:

Yes Cusi I totally agree with you! It is selfish to displace your children from a devoted father in order to “follow your heart”. As we know it obviously was for naught, as her relationship failed, and another, and another…

My mom has an expression that once you choose to have children, “You have to be a Mother, before you are a Woman!”. That is not to say, that you lose your sexuality, or passion, it is that you Think Of Your Children FIRST!! Men come and go, obviously, but your children is the one constant.

IMHO putting your needs before your children’s is criminal. Hey that wasn’t humble ATALL! LOL Many women leave their children behind, either because the new man only wants her, or because they are extremely selfish, and are choosing to be totally free to enjoy the new adventure. When and if the romance fails, these women come back, apologizing and demanding to be accepted into the fold. Good luck with that!

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

your opinions are always valid. However, the book reveals more to the story. I would prefer to allow people who are interested in the book to actually read it, and then draw their own conclusions from it.

        • Amber...RealWife says:

Vinny my response was more about the women who choose to be selfish vs. being a good mother. We post what we feel and also what we know from our life experiences. It’s not all about Cat and her book sales and I didn’t throw any spoilers out as her story has been told in countless articles. Although you are a fan of Cat’s as a WOMAN, we have a better inside track on the workings of a WOMAN! 😉

Narcissistic people concentrate on their desires, while ignoring the needs of everyone. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that when a self absorbed person ignores their responsibilities, KARMA has a way of putting them in CHECK! When the relationships fail, they return apologizing, making themselves the victim, requesting and even demanding forgiveness. It is on the victims of the egotisitcal parent, the children, who make the choice to forgive.

          • error404 says:

I’m just not ready to label exposing your kids to new and different experiences as “child abuse”.

They experienced new schools, a new culture, new friends, etc… and even though the marriage didn’t work out, it turned out to be a sort of study abroad program for the kids.

I didn’t watch the show, but I’m sure if she kidnapped them against the agreed upon custody, then made them live homeless while she turned trick for crack money, I’d have heard about it.

Just because I don’t like her doesn’t mean I’m ready to dis her every move.

            • Amber...RealWife says:

It’s not about dissing her every move. It actually was talking about Mothers who put their needs and desires before those of their children. I don’t know if her original love romp included her children. Don’t care! LOL What is interesting is that while her cultural road trip was enjoyed by the children, they were being ignored by their stepfather instead of being loved by their father, even if it were only on visitation days. Also didn’t she return to the states without the children? Whatever.

While Fathers walk away from their children and start new relationships, usually it is the Mothers that hold it together. I suppose that is why we were chosen or blessed to birth children. The maternal instinct is instilled in us to make us fierce warriors to defend our children. Even in the animal kingdom it is the Mother____ who protects her young! It is what we are supposed to do! Some heed the call, other do not!

In conclusion, LOL, my response may have started with DC Cat, a reality caricature, but it ended with my opinion and life experience on women who are selfish, that choose men over their children.

              • VincenzoNewYork says:

I just don’t think a woman should stay with someone who does not emotinally fulfill her..or is somewhat controlling towards her. If I were a woman, I would rather have them emulate a healthy relationship, even if it is not with their father, then to discover that I was unhappy while raising them with their father. I would not consider that selfish. I would consider it to be bravery, courage, and honoring truth.

                • Amber...RealWife says:

No one should stay in an abusive relationship, and if the home life is one in which everyone is unhappy, definitely one much be a role model for their children and move on. However, the old unfulfilled routine, can be a bit of a cop out! Say that to the adoring wife of the porter with a 3 inch penis! LOL

Who are we to say it was the truth or a lie to excuse the behaviour. Not pleased sexually, mentally, financially, socially… OK. It happens. Go! BUT, I must say your girl CAT must be the most courageous, bravest bitch you know, as she is constantly searching for her truth! What a role model for her daughters!

BTW RH is at work and I’ve got ALL DAY! LOL

                  • VincenzoNewYork says:

haha- I do see more of your point lol. I just hope that her daughters attract loving men into their lives as adults. They’ve seen quite enough.
I think we reached a compromise! Yay Amber!
3 inch Penis? Really? Well, they do say that size does not matter.

                    • Amber...RealWife says:

That was said by the guy with a 3 inch penis! LMAO. It matters! ALOT! LOL

BTW give up! LOL I’ve got too much ammo and your shield i.e. CAT is way too thin! LOL

            • VincenzoNewYork says:

  33. Debbie says:

Okay, I reached out to this crazy chick through Fb. I need to say up front, I HAVE NEVER followed her on twitter. I even went to try to and I am blocked anyway. I think she has muliple twitter accounts. She attacks Lynn or makes up lies about Lynn under fake names and when I confront them, I get attacked. This is important to remember as I am posting my entire note to her and her response. When she claims at the end of a somewhat descent reply that I am mean to her on FB, that cannot be true as I have NEVER tweeted to her but to her goons….” From me: Hey Jen, A long time ago I read your blog on a daily basis. I liked it so much that I would post links to it all the time. I have been recieving some disturbing PM’s, tweets from strangers etc. Would you like to talk with me on or off the record and set the record straight? I am offering this to help you. I have watched the downward spiral of a blog that at one time had the potential to become a great success story. I am not offering this for any other reason that the fact that I feel bad for you now. I am guilty of judging before I had all the facts. It has been my job/ gift in life to help others as I have been through some very serious health issues and since I have been cancer free, I have made it my mission to help others get what they want and deserve out of life. I don’t want to believe the stuff I have been sent but at the same time I have been attacked by strangers and refuse to engage in being mean back to them. I hope things are getting better for you and you can come out of this as a stronger woman. We women need to step up and help each other and build each other up and not knock each other down. Peace to you. I don’t want this to be made public until you are ready to set the record straight. ”
This is her response…February 18 at 11:53am Report
“I appreciate you reaching out to me. While things are very scary looking on Twitter, my blog is safe and I have the 110% of my editors. I’ve been working hard at a new PR firm and that’s why I haven’t been giving it the attention it deserves.

As for setting the record straight. I’ve done that several times, and been very open about my life since I began writing 6 years ago. Every ugly and beautiful thing I have put out there to share. I use my real name, and I am not ashamed of anything. I’m human. We’re human. I agree about lifting up rather than tearing down. I have posted the proof of me refusing ANY monetary support and that’s that.

The bottom line is that my life has changed 0% since this has happened. All of my writing gigs are intact, and will remain so, I have a wonderful day job, and my children are my life. Is this a difficult time in life for me right now? Yes. But I know what happened, those important to me know what happened, and this too shall pass.

You have been very cruel to me on Twitter. I have never once been abusive in expressing my views. I lashed out on Wednesday because I had had enough and to me, reaching out to my estranged husband here was beyond acceptable behavior. “

    • Debbie says:

Small correction. She sad I was cruel to her on twitter not FB

      • Kat says:

        No good deed goes unpunished.
You tried to talk to her and were rebuffed. Really that was very sweet of you. Who knows maybe she’ll change her mind. (Run!)

A caution: People who kind heartedly wish to help others are few and far between and much appreciated, and easy marks for grifters and emotionally manipulative people including sociopaths.
Seriously without eye contact, body language, or facial expression and voice inflection you are at the mercy of the written word, which can be very persuasive – truthful or not.

I have never follower her on twitter. I used Fb to contact her. If I followed her on twitter, I wouldn’t have had to go to FB to ask for an expanation. Her kids do not come first in my opinion. To me it looks like they come last. Lynn has seen this and I asked her if I should post it here

I think she has some problems and needs to step back from everything and worry about herself and her children. I would forget blogging right now altogether or for those she has offended I would do a personal and public apology and keep it moving. This is the internet and she is going through her own personal internet-watergate right now but this too shall pass. It is the continual blogging that is causing her issues. Just stop blogging. The internet will continue if you don’t add your two cents to the super highway for a few months. Some people can’t see beyond themselves.

I am not sure why she was asking for donations. Donations? For what? Isn’t it free to post on a blog? You can’t fleece your audience. Build up a clientle by providing quality and they will follow you anywhere and they will eventually support your writing. You don’t have to seek donations.

I feel bad for her. I feel bad because all her stuff is just out there but the most damaging things she actually did to herself. I bet she won’t do that again. Glass houses and stones do not mix well. I saw her talking about Lynn and her so called followers yet it comes off as pure jealousy. If you are such a great blogger, Lynn’s blog shouldn’t bother you. If the lake is big enough for two people go ahead and swim but don’t worry about me if I am doing the breast stroke.

I wish her the best. There comes a time in your life when you realize that you can never outrun yourself. Perhaps, this is her time.

I agree, nice take and way to explain it.
Unfortunately I don’t think this will end well. I hope it does.

She didn’t ask for donation, she refused them, but if you insist my Paypal button is there on the right. -to paraphrase her blog.

She wrote she was in an abusive situation and her S.Other had taken the car battery and her credit cards. She had 8 bucks to her name.

Yesterdays blog and @Intensity38 (on twitter) her timeline shows how this all unfolded.
        People wanted to help Jen.

Sage. We all learn this sooner or later. It’s easier to learn it as a child. I feel for adults still running.

Hey all….enjoyed the blog and all the comments. That house that Mauricio and Josh were going to split the commission on has been for sale for a very long time. It was one of the houses Kimora Lee looked at on her show a couple of years ago. Gotta be something wrong with it if it’s been on the market that long.
I too liked the Umansky’s old house better and yes Faye was the designer of the old house. She has them listed on her website with pics.
I’m pretty confident that RCH’s pic is indeed her. Sure there’s a slight resemblance to Reese but it’s definitely not her. Ask RCH, she’ll tell you.
As for Jenn, one reaps what one sows…….she had an agenda and it came back to bite her in the bumpit.

Hi Eric! Thanks for joining us! Welcome!

      • Golden Girl says:

Welcome Erica. I agree with the picture on RCH blog being a picture of her. I remember her saying that once on her blog when a couple of people asked her about it.

    • error404 says:

It’s probably horribly overpriced. An “investment” by a rich person who can afford to keep it until it sells for profit. The fact that it’s been shopped around on different show isn’t a good sign, but then it’s amazing how often these fame whores pop up over and over again on multiple shows.

  36. EricSale says:

    Thanks Lynn…….I appreciate that!

I’ve always enjoyed Million Dollar Listing. As far as I remember, Andy has never had any of them on WWHL, I wonder why. Maybe at this point, all of these people on reality shows are all starting to look alike to me, but I’m pretty sure the couple that Josh went to see (blonde woman, he said she used to be his neighbor) and her husband were also Camille’s “friends” at the dinner party she had where her mother was also there.
I do miss Chad and his ziploc bags though.

    • error404 says:

has WWHL been on as long as when last season’s $milListing?

IIRC it started during s4 of RHONY. Or maybe that was just when I first noticed it. But it really is just a HW promo show. Even when they have people like Tabitha and Jeff on, Andy asks them all sorts of annoying HW questions. It’s like “Oh, so you have your own show. Hmmm… so which housewife is your favorite?” ZZZzzzzzzz

    • EricSale says:

Good call on that one! Camille was on Twitter as the episode was being shown and said that her good friends were on the show.
