I Hate Jill Zarin Tabatha’s Salon Takeover / Watch What Happens Live

Thank you to Quincy for her final recap this season of Tabatha’s show. Quincy has recapped TST all season and has done a fantastic job, today is no exception.

Tabatha’s Salon Takeover Finale by Quincy IL

Tabatha visits four salons from Season One and Season Two to see if they have been following through with her recommendations. Tabatha hopes that she does not have to take them over again.

Tantrum in Covina, California

This salon was owned by Robert (14 years experience) and Jodie (12 year of experience) who is the mother of two small children. Jodie has been at home for extended periods of time since the birth of her children.

The salon was filthy and there was a cockroach infestation. During the surveillance time; Marjorie, Robert’s sister and their receptionist, showed a cockroach to several of the customers in the salon. Robert and Marjorie were gum chewers. Tabatha made them spit their gum out into her hand. Tabatha also caught Marjorie eating at the front desk which is not acceptable to Tabatha. Tabatha felt that Robert “walked around like a chicken without its head.” Robert called Tabatha a “bitch.”

Tabatha helped the stylists and showed Roberto how to organize his office with a new computer system and files.

Tabatha had a discussion with Jodie. Tabatha told Jodie that she could have it all. She could manage the salon and raise her children. Jodie did not this she could do it so she asked to be a stylist and wanted to walk away from ownership.

A year later, Tabatha returned to find the salon very busy and clean. The salon was throwing a cut-a-thon for charity to honor the wife of the mayor who had passed away. They were going to cut the hair of 300 people who had financial needs. There was a party atmosphere with balloons.

Jodie had gone home a year ago and her family wanted her to continue ownership of the salon. She was responsible for paying bills and the payroll. This was a balance that both owners felt comfortable with. Robert has “a sense of accomplishment.” Tabatha felt “he had done an amazing job.”

The mayor arrived and gave Tabatha the keys to the city of Covina. This was the first time anyone had received that honor. Tabatha was so proud of all of the stylists and owners.

Chicago Male in Boys Town, Chicago, Illinois

Tabatha’s issue with this salon was its business model. They only would serve men and the time allowed for a hair cut and style was 30 minutes. Scott, the owner, had never owned a hair salon before Chicago Male. Scott was an absentee owner and the staff was left unsupervised most of the week.

The salon was filthy and the stylists double dipped into their wax so one customer would get wax with the pubic hairs of another customer. The clients that Tabatha brought in were drag queens and the stylists had some difficulties in cutting and styling. The owner remained resistant to allowing women to become clients. There were no education classes and the stylists were in need of instruction.

Tabatha recommended that Rich become the Director of Education and that Drew, a stylist with limited abilities step down from his position and be retrained. The stylists had to be motivated. The salon needed to be marketed.

Tabatha was disappointed that Scott had maintained his business model. He had hired one female stylist, but only one female per day would come into the salon. Tabatha wanted the key again and to take over Chicago Male a second time. The name, Chicago Male, was the problem. The owner did not wish to change so Tabatha did not know if he would be successful.

Refuge Salon in Silver Lake, Colorado

Miriam, the owner, was Amish. She had never owned a business and she dressed like a non Amish person and had liquor in the salon. She was actually being paid in Vodka by a customer. She had two small children at home to support. When Tabatha first visited Refuge, the rent was unpaid and the stylists were owed, 3,000.

Tabatha tried to find new revenue and had made arrangements for the stylists to create modern hairstyles for a rock band. Miriam failed to make the clients happy so Tabatha had to complete the styling. Tabatha had the owner return to a salon with a large “going out of business” sign. That upset Miriam and the staff. They told Tabatha that they would try harder.

When Tabatha returned after a year, the salon had a for rent sign on the window. Tabatha started walking down the street to find the former owner and some of the stylists. Tabatha found Miriam at a larger facility. Miriam claimed to be successful and that she was buying six buildings. She claimed she had started a beauty school. Miriam said she had earned 250,000 dollars cutting hair, but Tabatha did not believe her. Miriam was also throwing “A White Trash” event with women wrestling in cream corn. Tabatha rolled her eyes at that concept. Tabatha said this was “a crock of shit.”

Tabatha found a smaller salon belonging to one of the former employees of Refuge who had had great difficulty with time management when Tabatha first met her. The stylists said that the landlord had closed Refuge down. They thought Miriam was a liar and no one wanted to work for her. They had taken Tabatha’s recommendations and were doing well on their own. Tabatha noticed the building that Miriam said she owned had “a for sale sign” on the wall.

Martino in South New Jersey

Tabatha went to South New Jersey to meet with Martino the owner of the salon. Martino spent money on expensive cars, a big house, and fancy clothes. The money came from a second mortgage on his home. Tabatha called Martino, “a Play boy.”

The salon was filthy. There was hair in brushes. There was filth and a stench. The stylists had a bad attitude. Martino said, “This woman is such a bitch that I can’t stand her.” Tabatha told Martino that, “I am going to whack you over your head.” Tabatha told Martino to get rid of one of his expensive cars and use the money to build his business. She helped him organize his office and to manage the salon and stylists. At the end, Martino kissed Tabatha.

After a year, Tabatha returned and found Martino a changed person. His stylists said that he was calm, but he still had his moments. The place looked great. Martino had a surprise for Tabatha. He got down on one knee and offered her a diamond ring and marriage. Tabatha took the diamond, but said not to the offer of marriage. She had a great time wearing that gorgeous diamond.

The business had a 98% client retention rate. They had added three additional stations with stylists. The income was up 56% and the total gross income was 2,000,000. Martino had not gone back to the credit cards that Tabatha made him cut up. Tabatha was truly proud of Marino and his staff.

Thanks again Quincy, Great Job!!!

They ended the show with a hysterical group of clips of people doing the one thing that Tabatha hates, hugging her. It was really great watching her attempt to dodge hugs.

I will miss Tabatha’s show, the season flew by quickly. This is a great show and last night Tabatha returned to some salon’s that she had taken over during past seasons. Fascinating. Tabatha talked about this episode during her interview with me that she did before the season started, you can listen to it here:

Andy Cohen welcomes Kandi Burress and Phaedra Parks

I have to say first off that Kandi looks amazing!  Her hair was sleek and mature and she was all put together.

On the other hand, Phaedra looked like she had just come from Studio 54, in 1987.  She wore a hot pink one shoulder number that did nothing for her, add to that the hair swooped over to cover one eye making her resemble a pirate in a cocktail dress.  An ugly cocktail dress that looked cheap worn by a woman who told us she was rich.

Sorry Phaedra, if you say, “I’m rich” you’re probably not and if you say, “I’m classy because I eat foie gras” but the fact is you don’t pronounce it properly, you’re probably not.  Oh, and your husband is no Martha Stuart.  Sorry, I had to throw that in.

Cohen opens by asking Phaedra about her plan to open a funeral parlor and she repeats what she said on the Reunion Show just in case anyone still doubted just how stupid she is, “the clients don’t complain”.  Apparently Phaedra believes that a dead person will be making the arrangements for their own funeral and writing the check to her funeral home.  She thinks that her entertainment clients complain when they’re being  busted for smoking weed?  Wait until she has to deal with a grieving family who are arguing over the estate.

Phaedra said that some of her friends had passed away giving her the idea to open a funeral business, I’m sure her deceased friends are happy they could help.  Good luck with that Phaedra.

Andy continues to be obsessed but his top three obsessions this week are:

1.  Atlanta’s “Tardy For The Party” controversy.  A seemingly simple question for Kim asked at the reunion, “Do you think you were more valuable to the process than Kandi?”  Kim never answered the question even after Andy asked it three times even wording it differently the third time.  Kim‘s response, “she can have all the money”  Is Kim hard of hearing?  Andy’ follow up question to Kandi asked if she had gotten any of the money, the doormat….er Kandi said she hadn’t, no surprise there.  Kandi went on to defend Kim saying that she did mention it on the phone once and Kim had been on vacation.  I’m no longer feeling bad for Kandi, she needs to stand up to Kim and get her damn money!

2.  Andy’s new tradition at the reunion filming is to choose his favorite pair of shoes out of all the housewives.  You can see this clip on BravoTV.com.  It is a bit irritating when they recycle footage that is on the web site and show it again, but there you have it, Phaedra wins. Yet Phaedra isn’t in her shoes, she was apparently in the bathroom getting sick due to some bad food that she’d eaten.  I’m sure it wasn’t from a can.

3.  Finally, Cohen plays a clip from the newest Housewives series.  Not interested.

Kandi was asked why she didn’t you stick up for Sweetie as NeNe called her a slave?  Kandi took both sides as she claimed on the show that Kim shouldn’t speak to Sweetie that way, while sitting with NeNe, she said “you can’t talk to black women that way” yet sitting with Cohen in the Clubhouse Kandi said that Sweetie is a grown woman.  Kandi said that she doesn’t feel offended because she understands their relationship, they have all gone on vacations together, and Kim and Sweetie talk trash to each other all the time.

I like Kandi but she’s a walking contradiction.  I would love to see her stand up to Kim.  I understand wanting to allow the attorney’s to deal with the new song, but when it comes to Tardy For The Party, that was all a verbal agreement and Kandi simply needs to demand her money from Kim and if she doesn’t then she doesn’t deserve it.

Kandi’s girls were on display leading Andy to ask her if she’s had work done on her breasts.  I’m over all this plastic surgery questioning, personally I don’t care if she had or hadn’t had breast implants I just wish Andy would  STOP asking that nonsense!

Both ladies were asked for their opinion about NeNe and why she seems so very angry these days, and why she was so far removed from the rest of the ladies, Phaedra quietly said that NeNe needs some bran.  Hysterical!

Kandi tried to make it seem like no big deal stating that Kim and Sheree were friends and NeNe and Cynthia were friends and there was tension there.  I goes well beyond that because both Kandi and Phaedra also had issues with NeNe and while Cynthia and NeNe were “cool” Cynthia didn’t have issues with the other ladies the way NeNe did.  Kandi tried to simplify things but I wasn’t buying it at all.   I thought we’d covered the pre-nuptial nonsense on the Reunion show but Cohen brought it up again so that we could hear Phaedra tell viewers that she’s rich and a smart business-woman.  Of course she has a pre-nup, not simply because Apollo is an ex-con but she’d have one with any man she married.  Tell us again how rich you are Phaedra, then watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills…ok?

I would love to meet the intern on WWHL who comes up with these cheezy games that they play.  Tonight was “Pin the Tail on the Donkey Booty“.  As Kandi and Phaedra give us their expert opinion on celebrity butts, then try to identify who belongs to each booty.  Genius!

Tonight’s poll asked simply, Who’s side are you on?  Kim or NeNe?  Not surprisingly, Kim won with 68% of the vote.

As the show aired, apparently NeNe tweeted that Phaedra is 40 years old but is acting 20.  It is clear that NeNe can’t control her anger and hatred of her cast mates.  I think she should probably have turned the channel and watched Bear Gryllis surviving in the wild on The Discovery Channel or maybe an episode of Cops instead of watching her cast mates talking to Andy Cohen.

Andy announced that you can get a FREE ringtone of the WWHL theme song performed by Jenny of Flipping Out by simply texting Andy411 to 27286.  Bravo is giving away something for free people, take advantage of it!

Kandi managed to get in a plug for her store Tags, as a viewer asked Phaedra about her nail color, apparently the salon who did Phaedra’s nails is right next door to Kandi’s clothing store.
Andy’s three wishes tonight:

1.  Drunk baby video that Cohen found funny.

2.  Andy asked that people stop saying #Fail on the social networks.  Apparently it annoys him and he added that it was rude.  I’m not going to comment on whether or not it is rude, but it is a way of expressing distaste or disappointment in something, apparently Andy gets a lot of #Fail Tweets.  Maybe it’s time to listen to viewers Cohen?

3.  Finally Andy hopes that deceased writer, Perry Moore who wrote a book called Hero about a gay Superhero will continue to inspires kids.

Thanks to Harvey for this interesting interview with Mr. Andy Cohen:

I’m working on my latest Portrait of a Housewife, this time, New Jersey Housewife, Jacqueline Laurita will be featured, that should be available later today, I’ll post the link as soon as it is published.
In the meantime if you’d like to read any of my other portraits, they are available here:

Some of these were written some time ago and admittedly my opinion of some of these housewives have changed as time has gone by.  Specifically, Camille Grammer has managed to change my mind about her.

Lisa Vanderpump actually commented on her Portrait, quite an honor!

Until Next Time….

  1. Oprah3201 says:

Lynn, have you (or your sources) ever thought to contact Eileen Zarin and find out what involvement Jill had in Eileen and Bobby Zarins divorce? It was big gossip in Great Neck, NY.

    • Sha2000 says:

My advice, I wouldn’t touch that with a ten foot pole Lynn.

Number one it’s not our business & if the former wife had something to say she would have done so on her own already. Respectfully Oprah3201, if you say “it was big gossip in Great Neck” that means you live on the north shore LI & heard something but would rather ask than sharing & that in it’s self is fishy. Sorry but I had to say it because I saw you asked prior & it went unanswered; which brings up my second point why are you asking again????
We are on the internet & the fact is you could be **anyone** asking & my gut tells me the question feels weird & wrong.

Truly I am not looking to argue with you or anyone here, I am just giving my honest opinion which is the question seems wrong on every level to me. I’ve always said it’s one thing to read & gossip about these shows as long we don’t do something that can be hurtful or malign the person we are discussing. Speculation is one thing but peeking into business that is not ours to begin with is quite another. Its about respect to a fellow human being…once again, just my opinion & how I behave, not looking to debate about it. Please keep in mind we are all entitled to stat our opinions & that’s my honest one.

    • kbinldo says:

What? No one from Great Neck can write their own blog about it?

  2. Debbie says:

    Andy’s interviewing skills=#FAIL

  3. quincyil says:

I bet Andy has a team of writers for WWHL. They have created a formula for Andy’s show just like the formulas for all Bravo shows. This game playing is a chance for them to make fun of people.

About Tabatha’s show and the Amish salon owner. She didn’t seem Amish to me at all. The Amish don’t dress like the normal population, they would never drink, they don’t listen to music, they would hold a mashed corn wrestling event, they don’t steal from their employees, they don’t lie and they really don’t associate with the normal population very much.

I think that all four salon owners must have known Tabatha was coming back. The mayor had a “key to the city” and that had to take time to prepare. How did Tabatha know where to look for the stylists and salon owner when Recluse Salon had closed. Tabatha just walked down the street and found them? LOL. Also, the huge diamond that Tabatha was given for the engagement in the final salon had to be a set up. If he didn’t know she was coming, why did he have that rock.

Despite all of this, I loved the finale because I think Tabatha is trying to help these people make a living and help the public by providing excellent salon services. I admire Tabatha and the way she presents herself with humor and intelligence.

I would volunteer a salon in my town for her show, but I never see any filth or roaches so I don’t think they would qualify.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

ITA that alot was set up in the Takeover finale – but it was a good way to show that the results are not always sunshine and roses. I wish that Christopher Hill Salon was recapped, maybe next season!
      Thanks for the recap Quincy!

      • HD says:

It all seemed set up to me as well. Tabatha just didn’t pop up when that salon was just so happening to be doing haircuts for charity.

      • Rhetorica says:

I agree! The wife @ Christopher Hill was a witch! She needs a rude awakening on how to treat people & run a small business.

    • Cusi77 says:

Thank you Quincy for an entire Season of TSM ‘s recaps! Very much appreciated! I enjoyed every one of your writings… you have talent, girl!

I use to wear highlights on my hair… I am now rethinking before going to a salon! Wow! The filthy things I watch with Tabatha! My highlights are almost 2 inches from the roots!

      • quincyil says:

I have never been in a dirty salon and I have visted many in my years. I have had stylists that told me that they were going to do what they wanted to my hair and I never went back. I had a few eyebrow waxings that I hated, but I have someone that does a great job and I just make appointments with her.

If your stylist’s own hair is healthy looking, that is an indication that she knows what she is doing. LOL.

      • Brigid A. says:

Cusi, my highlights are halfway grown out! My salon is clean and I love my stylist but getting foil highlights is just way too $$$. At least here in SoCal.

I love Tabatha! I would not have believed how filthy and disorganized some salons can be had I not seen her show.

        • quincyil says:

My mom is at a beauty school getting a perm today. She is frugal. You have to have time as each student is monitored by a teacher.

          • Brigid A. says:

Q, my sole adventure into beauty school services was a basic root color touchup, no highlights. I was there for hours with a beginning student, limited supervision, and disappointing results. I re-colored at home. I’d go back for a mani/pedi, but for anything involving bleach, color and my hair, I’ll stick with a pro.

    • Brigid A. says:

Thank you Quincy and Lynn for the great recaps! I missed the finale of Tabatha but will be sure to tune in when it airs again. I’m a huge fan of hers. Q, I agree that there must be preparation and “set up” for a lot of the encounters between Tabatha and the salon staff but that must apply to every “reality” show.

Did not see all of WWHL with Kandi and Phaedra. Neither of these women interests me, as likeable as Kandi seems to be. I’m hoping Atlanta gets re-cast or disappears.

    • kbinldo says:

Miriam said she was Amish, as in past tense. The Amish do allow their young people to go to the big city for a year & see if being Amish is what they want. If they choose to leave, they can, but are cut off from their families. It is apparent, though, that being raised Amish doesn’t stop you from being a lying drunk. Just like that “Mennonite” chick who was on the Make Me A Supermodel show’s first season (oh please, Bravo, bring that back, it’s sooo funny!)

      • quincyil says:

Our Amish don’t send their children to trade schools like beauty schools. The kids stop their education at 14. Their parents and fellow church members teach them their trades. Our Illinois Amish, the Iowa Amish, and Wisconsin Amish wear their long braids folded on the top on their heads with white caps. Even little girls cover their heads. They don’t die or style their hair.

I believe they are very honest people. They women are very shy and usually won’t talk to you. They just smile. I see at Walmart almost every time I go as we have large communities around here.

Now… the Mennonites have modernised. The women are still dressed as they were in the olden days, but they have cell phones and women are drivng vans of people to town.

The Apostolic Christian allow tv sets now. It’s for weather reports.

Maybe, the California Amish have different ways.

        • JKW says:

In some sects of the Amish, the kids at age 16 do rumspringa. They go out into the “English ” (their word ) world to see if they want to stay there or go back to stay Amish. Some wear normal clothing, hair cuts, listen to music, drink and go out to bars. Basically they live as regular kids. Some go back and some don’t. If they go back they are considered Amish and must abide by their rules.

          • quincyil says:

I know they don’t have a central Church like some religions.

            Very interesting.

          • Dawn says:

The Amish around where I live also have rumspringa. A lot of the guys and girls purchase cars. If they choose to leave the religion, they are not shunned. Churches are set up by order and they are geographically defined. For instance, there is one road that one side the Amish can own bikes, the other side of the road is in a different order and the Bishop has declared they cannot own bicycles. Some Amish are allowed to own and carry cell phones for emergency use.

  4. Miss Katherine says:

I’m minoring in French. Phaedra says foie gras correctly.
Nene posted a lot of tweets saying that Sheree was a hater, when that has never been what I’ve seen. There was a lot of off camera tension between Nene and Sheree. I think the divorce affected Nene’s behavior, but she went beyond Camille’s mere insecure and relatively harmless catty comments. She came off looking crazy with the screaming and lunging. I was definitely team Nene in past seasons, but now, I find myself doing the unthinkable–agreeing with Kim!

now how about top chef tomorrow? it seems like mike isabella steals richard’s dish idea? I will have to see the episode to decide. I mean, how much of food is truly original? A small percentage. If Mike is making tomato soup and grilled cheese, it seems hard for me to believe that he’s intentionally ripping off Richard. However, if it’s some of the more molecular stuff, then I can see it. To be honest, I don’t care for either. Richard is arrogant and belittles the other chefs. I am rooting for Carla, Dale, and Antonia.

    • Sha2000 says:

I admit the first time that episode aired it sounded as if she ordered foie bois, lol; upon hearing it replayed I did hear foie gras. No minor in French here, just know the pronunciation & meaning of both : )

      Good catch Miss K!

    • cdnfillie58 says:

Hi Miss K … I am fluent French and sorry to say Phaedra is not saying it correctly … It should sound like “Fwa Gra” . She says it like “Fo Gwa” at least that’s what I hear 😉

  5. ritgrad says:

So if Phaedra is 40 and Nene just turned 43, doesn’t it seem like they did attend high school at the same time? Nene gave the impression that she was out of high school when Phaedra went there during the reunion, or am I wrong? Just sayin’

    • Sha2000 says:

Listening to NPR in the car today they reported that a doctor there claimed that he (MG) has had his thugs go into hosp’s & kill protesters that are getting treated. Also that doctors have been killed & blood at the blood banks taken and dumped. They also made the disclaimer that they did not know if it was an accurate report or not; if it is it hits a new low for dictators. This is worrisome to say the least; how do we help people there? We can’t is the sad answer in my opinion. And who will replace this monster if he is toppled? Look at that animal they took back from Scotland and allowed to live free. This is not Egypt folks; Egypt knows that tourism is it’s main source of income so they must get back on course & be a functioning & welcoming nation, and clean up any bad elements. Libya? That’s a completely different question. I can wish the best for its regular folks who only want better.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

When Col.’s in the Libyan AirForce are defecting to Malta rather than fire on unarmed protesters in Tripoli Sq. it is not going to be long before he topples.
IMHO no way can a dictator maintain power without a strong military to back him.

        • quincyil says:

It shows that you can’t buy a population with oil money. Mr Hugo Chavez, take note.

        • Sha2000 says:

Right OMIB, I meant after how much blood is spilled & who will fill the vacuum? I do admit that I have not followed it as closely as I did Egypt; anyone stepping up to the plate who would be electable & opposite of the jerk they now have?

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

dunno- seems like absolute chaos now.
It caught my attention that the airforce is firing on unarmed protesters- Obama spoke out yesterday- seems particularly brutal- they’re saying 11 out of the 250 “confirmed” dead are officers that refused to fire so they were killed too.

All it did was teach them to defect if they can.

Those guys had to have a plan in place- they separated from the rest of the pilots when they were ordered to fire and then deliberately flew low to avoid detection.

            Desperate people do desperate things.

            • OneMoreInBoston says:

WOW! the NAVAL WARSHIPS are defecting!

I’m bummed! My DVR didn’t record TSM and its not on the Bravo website. How long does it usually take before they have the full episode available?

    • quincyil says:

OK, I’ll share… from the NY Times/A Hate newspaper

“I mean, honey, you’re probably not going to find an emotionally volatile, discount-upholstery-fabrics heiress like Jill Zarin in Atlanta.”

Not for all of the tea in China would I want to be Jill Zarin.

    • AZ Girl says:

Great article. Good find Q. As for Oprah’s post above it smells like a set up to make us look like “haters” and as we all know the posters here are not.

      • Adgirl says:

Yeah, that was a not very subtle was is?
While we love to comment and speculate on the on/off screen behavior of reality show casts I have never seen any interest here in dragging non-combatants into the mix. We snark on people who volunteer to be judged.

        • quincyil says:

I remember that a similar post was made last fall and the board discussed it. It was at that time someone posted an article on Bachelors in NYC.. an old online story. It’s somewhere on an old board.

  8. Sha2000 says:

Ugg science project…how many years of walking the kids through it before it clicks & they can do it on their own? I’m not talking about the wiz kid who enjoys it & wins the science fair, just the average kid? My daughter is in 7th grade & she still needs help with it. I wish they would have a project on the HW’s series, then I could help her get an A+! Lol!

  9. viki55 says:

Hi all. I just one of those “Kevin Bacon” 6 degrees of separation things. I was looking on the web seeing if news of my friend Christopher Templeton’s passing was getting out (and it is, with some wonderful comments from her fans) and noticed this:

So Chris was in an episode with Frasier who is the exhusband of a Housewives “star” who is part of the conversations on my favorite hanging out web site! It made me smile:)

I’m so sorry about your friend. I lit a candle for her 2 weeks ago at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. I remember her well from Y&R.

    • quincyil says:

That was a great find. I watched “Frasier” every week. Kevin Bacon … is everywhere.

      • Brigid A. says:

Just started watching Frasier re-runs and I can see why the show was so popular. The writing is good and I’m impressed with Kelsey’s acting. The entire cast is talented.

        • California35 says:

I watched that whenever possible in the later seasons, but knew that eventually I could catch up because there were running the old seasons on other channels. I actaully watch more of it after it was canceled on Life Time I think. Any ways, I enjoyed it. Some times could get repititive with Frasier and Nailes eagerness to be popular, wether separatly or together. I still enjoyed most of it thought 🙂

I was hoping the other two shows he was in would make it, but they didn’t. All were similar characters, and that is why I always figured he was like his characters…or at least most of him.

Lynn and I are two of the bloggers that are not speaking of the Real Housewives of Miami anymore, starting now. And we hope you’ll lend your support to this decision! 🙂 http://terryaley.com/2011/02/22/the-lights-are-going-out-on-the-real-housewives-of-miami/

    • quincyil says:

Interesting article. I was planning on watching “The Real Housewives of Miami.” I was looking forward to discussing the show.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

I don’t know if a boycott is such a good idea. Won’t you and Lynn lose your relevance?
I came to IHJZ to express my opinion when Bravo would never post my comments on the blogs.
By boycotting the show aren’t you also boycotting the fans/viewers of the show by not providing them a forum for discussion?
Of course- I should probably read your blog before I start to bash your decision! LOL

        • kbinldo says:

Since when has Lynn ever made us stay on topic? 😀 I’m sure if you want to talk about it, you can bring it up in the comments. Lord knows, they meander all over the place as it is already. 😀

    • Rhetorica says:

I did not know if l was going to watch RHM or not. However, after seeing how Bravo dismisses its fan base, l have decided not to watch. Let us know of future developments.

  11. DJ Loops Fruit says:

h, and your husband is no Martha Stuart. Sorry, I had to throw that in.

    no you mean Martha Stewart
sorry i HAD to go there LOL

  12. DJ Loops Fruit says:

Kandis real problem with Kim is that she DOES think of WIG as a friend and doesnt want to believe that all Wig is doing is taking advantage of the friendship
Kims problem is she honestkly doesnt think she is taking advantage
she is so used to using people and maybe once apon a time when she actually looked like something with men fawning over her and giving her whatever she wanted shes so used to it she feels entitled to it
somewhere deep in that mess are 2 women that do like each other
its also why Kandi was breaking down on the reunion she feels as though Kim should realize its not about the money at all its the lack of respect being shown
    Kandi deserves better

  13. DJ Loops Fruit says:

“personally I don’t care if she had or hadn’t had breast implants I just wish Andy would STOP asking that nonsense!”

he isnt going to and here is why
the questions he asks are the ones he gets asked about most often
and trust me i dont care either way either but there are people that are obsessed wirth that stuff

  14. DJ Loops Fruit says:

goes well beyond that because both Kandi and Phaedra also had issues with NeNe
    thats not really true
Kandi had no issue with NeNe this season
Phaedras biggest issue with NeNe is is that Nene wouldnt admit she knew her before because of course NeNe didnt know her
and because she claimed that NeNe never let up about Apollo
lets just say like the alien baby comment Phaedra got ehrself some wrong information

  15. DJ Loops Fruit says:

sorry for the cyber hiccup LOL

      • Adgirl says:

I didn’t know if should reply here, above or both. LOL.

I think something more was going on between NeNe and everyone on the cast that we didn’t see. maybe they just didn’t like her this year and shut her down.

        NeNe’s last blog states:
“These ladies have apparently formed an alliance, except for Cynthia who happens to have a brain of her own. I don’t have the energy nor do I have the time to stoop to their level of ignorance.”

Maybe there wasn’t a fight or specific issue. Just NeNe strutting around pissing people off.

        • DJ Fruit Loops says:

im sure there was tons that we didnt know about nor hear or see
even on the reunion when NeNe was trying to get Sheree to back her up sheree would hedge a lil but then she would reply honestly
I still dont see that Kandi had any issues with NeNe
she would say from time to time that Nene and Kim were ok now but sooner or later they would be back to fighting
she never said it was NeNes fault

    • MSU Chicago says:

Nene had a problem with Kandi. Last season, Nene had a conniption fit because of Kim not wanting Nene to be involved with Tardy for the Party. Nene was not the most cordial person to Kandi, which in my opinion was because she thought Kandi was in on Kim’s decision. The music teacher gave the song to Kim, not to Nene, so Kim could do with it what she pleased. Plain and simple, Nene was jealous of Kim and Kandi’s relationship and felt left out.

I don’t recall seeing much friendly interaction between Phaedra and Nene, so there could be issues behind the scenes between the two, other than not knowing each other. I would bet dollars to donuts that there is.

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

they had a problem LAST YEAR
do you mean to tell me that you think they kept that going for an entire year have none of us here ever had a fight with a friend ???
they never showed them THIS season getting into anything and they did show Kandi agreeing with NeNe not once but twice about how wig talked to sweetie

  16. DJ Loops Fruit says:

Tonight’s poll asked simply, Who’s side are you on? Kim or NeNe? Not surprisingly, Kim won with 68% of the vote.

of course it was that many people drank the kool aid

    • MSU Chicago says:

I am surprised that it wasn’t higher in Kim’s favor. No matter what you think of Kim, Nene went off the deep end this season. Barring everything else, her behavior in Miami was enough to put it in Kim’s favor.

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

Sorry I dont see it that way
She had more going on then most
divorcing your husband after all the years they were together is bound to put anyone in a bad way
finding out people you thought were your friends were backstabbing you like Dewight
im pretty sure by now anyone that has ever read one of my post knows just what i think of Wig that critter is just trash

    • Rabble Rouserh says:

What? I didn’t drink any kool aid (Not that I voted) but given that answer
      c) They both suck
wasn’t an option, I guess most people went with what they thought was the most true.

  17. DJ Loops Fruit says:

apparently Andy gets a lot of #Fail Tweets. Maybe it’s time to listen to viewers Cohen?

ive never seen one on his tweet acct which i go to daily
I dont know what it is Lynn but you seem to have a problem with Andy for some reason
and after all if it werent for he we wouldnt have any of these shows to chat about
    im just saying

    Hi everyone,

So this is over now? 😦 Quincy thanks again for the recap. You are done with it….but you still have MMListing 🙂

It sounds that we are done with the housewives — or will there be “lost footage” for Atlanta?

Needless to say I have not read all the way through…so I am sorry if I am asking something that has already been answered.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

Hi Ca35- how are you doing?

      • California35 says:

        Doing okay OMIB, thank you!

An ex boss send flowers a group of us, and I started crying…I better stop writing about it 😛 He was so sweet thinking of us. Lately those tears just think they can come out for no reason…gees.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

oh that was so nice! Please girl- you deserve more than flowers they should make you the f’ing CEO (official title LOL) for all you do for them.

        • Brigid A. says:

Hugs, Ca35! Hope you are shedding happy tears about the flowers!

          • California35 says:

Yes and no. He left the company…this reminded me that he left so I got sad again. One of appreciate my work. I was very happy he send them though, to think of it and to do it. Very nice feeling.

            Thanks Brigid.

Lynn – Thanks for listing the portraits, I realized I missed a couple. I will be reading them tonight 🙂

  20. VincenzoNewYork says:

Thank You Quincy for the recap!!
Thank you Lynn for providing us with a wonderful blog!!
I am looking foward to reading everyone’s insights and opinions tomorrow regarding The Real Housewives of Miami.

    • HD says:

I’m glad you said something. I didn’t even know it came on tonight.

      • quincyil says:

The Preview is not on the schedule this week. You would think they would share that since a lot of people didn’t see it.

        • HD says:

What is odd to me is on my TV Guide schedule it says it comes on at 10 p.m. for an hour and then it comes on again at 11:30 but that is for 30 minutes. If they are going to run it again why just run it for 30 minutes? Is this the same “preview” they had on Sunday or is this the kick off show? It is called Paradise Cost.

          • MSU Chicago says:

My Directv states that RHOM comes on at 10/9 central. WWHL is 11/10 central with 3 of the RHOM ladies. After that, a replay of RHOM at 11:30/10:30 central for an hour, with WWHL replay at 12:30/11:30 central.

          • LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

RHOM “Paradise Cost” is airing here in NJ from 10 to 11 per my cable tv listing. Then WWHL from 11:00 to !11:30, then “Paradise Cost” again from 11:30 to 12:30.

          • quincyil says:

Oh.. that 30 minutes could be the preview. I am going to look and see if it’s on Dish tv too.

    • California35 says:

I missed the preview that I didn’t even knew would be on. Now, I don’t know (or didn’t know unless I see it here) that it will be on tonight. I try to watch or record the new season…even if it is a re-run because my DVR is taken. I try the first season just to get to know the wives, but then either loose interest or keep watching. This one came out of no where replacing NY’s and I am NOT happy (sorry I might sound like Gloria). I might or might not watch, I won’t be looking for it. Bravo have so many re-runs all the time, that I might just watch them that way. For now I am only interested on MM (not exited over it yet), and looking forward to B’s. Like others here, I hope I am not disapointed, but I am still very much interested in her. NY wives…I wasn’t even sure I wanted to watch them already…now with the cancelation/moved date/whatever…I LOST interest. Sorry Bravo, but California35 is not happy 😛

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

It was more then a preview, it was the entire first episode! I still can’t believe that they aired the first episode before the premiere!

        • quincyil says:

Really? The next day, I saw Andy say it was coming in WWHL. People who have to go to work early can’t stay up that late. Who would put the first episode in that time slot?

  21. AZ Girl says:

I have not watched the preview of Miami and I probably will not watch the franchise at all. I am disturbed by Bravo “tossing us a bone” type of maneuver with the broadcast scheduling. After promoting HWONY for months we now know it is shelved. Obviously, the production people are overwhelmed with all the filming that was and is now in progress.
It is time for Bravo to back off and re-group on the HW franchises. HW is going down in flames and Miami sure as hell is not going to save it.

    • quincyil says:

I tried to watch two videos from bravotv.com just now. They were asking the women questions. Maybe, the show will be better. Miami is different from Atlanta, NYC or LA. There is a vibe in the restaurants and the open street fairs.

I watched “Miami Social” and really loved the writer, Michele Cohen. I read his Huffington blog too.

I don’t know sports celebrities and I have never heard of any of the Miami Housewives before. Bravo might not have been impressed because they kept it under wraps and didn’t bother to advertise the preview at all.

      • AZ Girl says:

BH was great. It was a gem. Loved it.
I guess it just starting to feel to me really forced in terms of getting these franchises out to the audience. Atlanta started out fine but as Jeang states below they all end with screaming matches and fights. You watch the re-runs of the older season’s and it seems less drama more friends trying to get along. Especially the first season of OC. NJ has always been a bitchfest.

        • quincyil says:

Above here is a link from “The New York Times. ” Their reviewer did not like the show. However, he gave a dig to Jill Zarin in the process. LOL.

I may not like the show. I watched the Atlanta reunion when I had time. When BH or NYC were on, I stayed up to watch on the first showing. I might end up recording Miami on the dvr. I just don’t know if I will like it or not yet.

  22. jeang says:

Well I may be an audience of one here, but I will be watching rhomiami. It has to be better than NJ or Atl with all their screeching. Time will tell and I have surely wasted plenty of time already watching NJ,OC,DC,ATL,BH AND NY. I am always hoping when these start out to see some wealthy interesting women living the good life. More often than not, however, it turns out to be a bunch of jealous, competative, qniving, screaming and fighting shrews. I remain hopeful.

  23. jeang says:

Florida is like three different states in one. North Florida and panhandle very rural, wonderful inexpensive beaches and laid back. Central Fla where I am, used to be also but that was long ago replaced once Disneyworld and all the attractions came in. South Florida, which I love is like another country altogether. Oops forgot about the Keys, another vibe there as well. All are good places to vacation in or live in, depending on what suits you.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

so…how’s the guest room renovation coming along?

      • quincyil says:

One more… I think it is a guest house with a pool.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

oh crap- a pool! I’m packing! Thanks jeang! I love doggies too!

          • AZ Girl says:

Q and OMIB you both need some sun! It has been a long bad ass winter and it shows. Always welcome here in AZ. I have a pool. Freezing right now but it should warm up in…….May

          • jeang says:

No pool, but a lake is across street from front yard and yesterday the first seadoo of the season was out there tearing it up.

    • quincyil says:

I saw a show on house rentals in the keys on HGTV. I went there last year and I wanted to look into one of the houses. Well, you can get a top suite at the finest hotel for less, but a family can stay in the house. I get enthusiastic in conversations with friends, so that is his hint that I still like the idea.

  24. VincenzoNewYork says:

On Sunday night, after Watch What Happens Live, we were able to watch the entire episode. I felt disoriented in the beginning, because I felt that the program was moving at a rapid pace. I must have been zoned out by then, after watching both part one and two of Atlanta, since I decided to boycot the first part of the reunion. Episode one was borning, but I think that they were just introducing the ladies. BH quickly captivated my attention! At first I decided to completely boycot the new franchise, but I’ll give it a chance, until I finally decide if I like it.

  25. VincenzoNewYork says:

I have a question. Why did they decide to air RHODC, if they knew DC would deliver poor ratings, before RHOM? I perosnally liked RHODC, so I wonder what were Bravo’s intentions with this one, especially since they were going to air it after RHONY.

    • quincyil says:

Bravo thought that the Salahis would be of interest. They were in the news quite a bit. I think they misjudged the public disgust for someone going into the White House in that way. A friend tells me that Washington is boring and that people just work and go home. LOL. DC has to be more interesting than a small town in NJ.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

I found DC to be very entertaining! The ladies were tamer than their New Joisey counterparts.

    • Brigid A. says:

It is puzzling. Is there any word about whether DC is returning?

And, sorry to sound dense, but is tonight’s Miami episode a repeat of the “sneak preview” we saw on Sunday night?? “Paradise Cost” airs at 7:00 p.m. PST. I see that the Cuban Barbie is one of Andy’s guests on WWHL tonight. She’s my least favorite Miami HW, based on first impressions.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

@ Brigid, I hope it will be slighly different. I thought that what we saw on Sunday night, was in fact episode 1.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

Regarding DC, I think they are currently discussing it, as Cat had mentioned to Lynn on Reality Buzz. I hope…I really liked Lynda and Cat.

        • Brigid A. says:

I’d give it another shot but hopefully Mary will be replaced. If Bravo insists on keeping her, someone please keep her away from the vino. She can hardly string a sentence together without dozing off.

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

hahahah!! aww poor Mary and her vino…
They need to keep Cat and Lynda. Stacie, I did like too.

  26. HD says:

Is the RH of Miami coming on tonight a rerun of what was aired on Sunday or is this a new episode?

Sorry if this seems redundant. I feel like I keep asking the same question. LOL! I am just confused.

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

I am equally confused! Was Sunday night’s episode like a lost footage pre-episode?? I would prefer not to watch it again, unless if it a different episode!

    • quincyil says:

I don’t know. Andy Cohen called it a preview and Terry Aley reviewed it as a preview. I think this is going to be episode one. This is the normal time slot and this is the time they advertised for the show to begin.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

        @Q from above,
I felt that RHOM was a whole hour..twitter was freaking out after it aired. It aired from 11.30 to 12.30.

        • quincyil says:

What was the consensus in twitter? Is there a place that has their opinions organized?

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

I asked somone on twitter who follows this blog as well. The person’s tweet was as follows:
Hi V!!! I think the same episode that was on Sunday night.

            • LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

I asked over at the Bravo Boards and was replied to – They say tonight’s epi and last Sunday’s epi are the same.

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

they advertised it as the premier

  27. cdnfillie58 says:

Great blog you two…now I need to catch up on the other ones

  28. jeang says:

Well I have trouble sleeping at night and that was the one night I fell asleep and missed the whole thing. It’s coming on now!!

  29. WindyCityWondering says:

Wondering if RHOM was a test show gone wrong and that is why Bravo stuck it in the closet. The preview/first episode was a standard intro to the wives with alittle extra – the mix seems off – two very single and ready to mingle with housewives of various status. None of them impressed me or got me even slightly interested in learning more about them. Best thing sadly was seeing Scotty Pipen!
IMO – Bravo didn’t get the response it wanted from it’s sneak peak and the fans/viewers will be getting the blame for it. Bravo underestimated the viewing audience – bait and switch rarely produces a positive result.

  30. LynnNChicago says:

    Hi Everyone!

Yes, its true, I won’t be blogging about The Real Housewives of Miami. I’m not “banning” any discussion of the show, but I want everyone to understand why we’re all doing this and I’m hoping for your support.

By “we” I’m talking about Real Old Housewife, Real City Housewife, TVTime101 and Terry Aley. We’re all a bit upset with Bravo right now and we are hoping that this will change the relationship between us and them and in turn improve our blogs and improve the content that you all read on our blogs.

Let me explain. We bloggers support each other, we have all wondered more than once why we don’t see any support from Bravo. We’re providing them with free advertising, free unlimited feedback (from all of you) and with constant reminders of their shows through the blogs, Twitter and Facebook. This type of advertising and consumer feedback through focus groups would cost them millions.

We’ve all gotten feedback from people telling us that they wouldn’t be watching some of these shows if we weren’t blogging about them. We’re not arrogant enough to think that we can make or break a show, but we do feel that our efforts, while we enjoy what we do, benefits Bravo.

A few of us have attempted to contact Bravo, we’ve respectfully asked for advance copies of shows, we’ve asked for interviews with cast, we’ve asked for advertising/support and we’ve even asked for something as simple as a RESPONSE. We’ve all gotten absolutely nothing, not even a return email acknowledging that we’ve contacted them.

While we understand that the reality show / blogging relationship is fairly new and there isn’t any standard for how a network handles this, we do know that Bravo leaks information and provides advance copies of their shows to outlets like TMZ, People and RadarOnLine.

Those news outlets cater to many different networks, TV shows, movies and celebrities. We “Hobby bloggers” focus mainly on Bravo and Bravo’s shows. Why are those outlets more deserving of any attention from Bravo than we are? We feel that our blogs are helping the network and the network is ignoring us.

We’re not asking for the world here, we would like a representative at the network be assigned to “handle” us, answers questions, respond to our emails and maybe sends us a preview of a show once in a while. We’d like a little bit of access to the cast members, maybe a monthly interview with one of us and we rotate bloggers to do the interview.

Both Terry Aley and TVTime have already written blogs about this. And we are looking for the support from our readers because in the end, it will benefit all of us, including our readers. All of you are the reason we do this, without readers, what is the point of blogging.

And so I hope that you’ll all support this action we’re taking, we don’t have anything necessarily against The Real Housewives of Miami in particular, we’ve chosen this show because it is new and is in need of bloggers to spread the word. We’ll continue to blog daily and blog about Bravo shows. We are just looking for a little love from Bravo after all the love we’ve given them in the past.

I’m wide open to feedback, I already know some disagree with this decision and we may fail miserably, but we felt that we had to try something to get their attention.

Thank you all for your unending support.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Lynn – bloggers would be the ideal focus group for Bravo HW franchise!
But a one sided relationship never works and Bravo IMO, has not acknowledged their most actively engaged fans – bloggers and their followers! Many viewers came to the hobby blogs because they could not participate on Bravo’s blog.
Through you, I have found other HW blogs and with you I am comfortable enough to say that unless Bravo wants to invite you and your peers to the party I have no problem saying NO to RHOM.

      • LynnNChicago says:

Thank you so much for your support WCW! You have no idea how much I appreciate it! xoxo

        • Nancy says:

Count me in too. Maybe we shouldn’t even watch RHOM?Does anyone know the head of BRAVO? (Andy’s boss?)
We all know how we stand with Andy so lets go over his head.

        • Cusi77 says:

Lynn I was just talking about this “Bravo” mistake of not acknowledging the huge support they receive from you… If you were not blogging Bravo’s programs I will not be watching them! (I never watched TSM, or Top Chef, RHOA, Etc.) I think they should give you some recognition for your hard work bringing more viewers to their programs as well as for RCHW, Terry and Really Old Housewife. My support is all yours! Not RHOM! Thanks for blogging, thanks for your hard work, thanks for your friendship! Cusi

          • Cusi77 says:

Sorry… I was talking with my husband about…. Really! Just yesterday!

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

I agree Cusi, I would not have watched RHOA, if Lynn was not blogging about it!

            • Cusi77 says:

Vincenzo_ The afirmations really work! thanks!

              • VincenzoNewYork says:

                @cusi, you’re doing them too? Haha…
The Universe/God/Higher power responds to every word we say, and every thought we think.

              • Kansas Girl says:

The affirmations seem to work for my noisy colleague at work (2nd day of relative quiet). However I’m not sure they worked for the broken washer. It WAS repaired, but the repair has caused the fridge outlet to die (extension cord across kitchen for now), the heater to only blow cold air, the heater fan to refuse to shut off, and the garage light to stay on and not respond to the switch. What did I do wrong in my affirmation? I’m both mystified and cold. (And looking at quite an electrician’s bill, I”m afraid.)

                • VincenzoNewYork says:

Oh Kansas, you have to really read the book in depth. There are layers of affirmations, and perhaps thought patterns why certain things don’t work out the way we do.

            • LynnNChicago says:

              That’s sweet thanks V :)xoxo

          • LynnNChicago says:

Thanks Nancy and Cusi! xoxo You’re the best!

      • HD says:

        1. I know you said you are not banning discussion of the show but to me that seems counterproductive to what you are trying to accomplish here. Which is fine with me. I watched tonight and it was boring as hell. If we never discuss it I am fine with that. I know you are not banning it but if you are not blogging about it but you have 200 people on this site talking about it then to me that works against you. JMO.

        2. An honest question here…do you and the other bloggers feel you have “put in your time” to have these demands met? Do you have the numbers/”followers” (for lack of a better word) to back your demands? What may seem like a lot to us is nothing “entertainment land”. Do you have the type of clout in the blogsphere/Twitter/Facebook, etc for anyone at Bravo to really listen to you? I’m just asking because I don’t know. You can have a million followers on Twitter or whatnot.

        3. Out of the bloggers you mentioned no one knows anyone at Bravo through degrees of seperation that can get you a step closer to what you want?

        4. Have you and the bloggers thought about uniting in one area to make an impact? Like maybe a Twitter account or a Facebook page? Maybe if they see a lot of people support you they will sing a different tune.

Whatever happens, I wish you the best. Be true to yourself and your work and never forget the reasons you started blogging. Sometimes as things grow bigger we have pause and come back to our first love and remember why we started doing something in the first place. The blog is not bigger than you, you are over it. If you never get your demands met are you still going to blog about housewives shows?

        • LynnNChicago says:

          Hi HD!

Thanks for asking these questions, I do need to address them.
          1. True, I will not be blogging about the show but I don’t try to control content and want everyone to feel comfortable talking about anything they want to talk about. I only hope everyone supports my decision. 🙂

          2. We simply don’t know. We know that we have a lot of readers, the comments made on the blog only reflect a small portion of the hits that the blog gets. We have a lot of lurkers here. In January I posted the summary that WordPress provides to us with some stats for the year. The blog started in May 2010 and here are the year end stats: https://lynnnchicago101.wordpress.com/2011/01/04/2010-in-review/

I don’t have stats on the other blogs and we know we have readers in common but we feel that a good portion of viewers who do read blogs, read at least one of our blogs. So the answer really is, we don’t know but we believe that we do make a difference to Bravo, we think we enhance viewers experience and expand on the shows, keep people talking about the shows long after they’ve finished airing, sometimes even weeks after.

          3. Surprisingly enough, no … none of us have any connections to anyone even remotely connected to Bravo.

          4. That is a great idea, we have all agreed that in addition to not blogging, we won’t Tweet or post anything on Facebook about this one show but we hadn’t thought about creating a Facebook page, something I will talk with them about. Thank you!

Your last paragraph hit home HD, you’re right I started blogging because I loved it, and I still love it and I’ll keep doing it whether we ever hear from Bravo or not.

          Thanks HD! xo

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

      I respect your decision.

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

I think that you deserve to be heard and to be listened to. Your podcast also promotes Bravo and its celebrities, and you definitely deserve some type of a respons from the network.

    • Debbie says:

Thank you Lynn et all bloggers involved. I completely support and respect this decision you have all made. You are the reason I don’t miss a thing, rewatch episodes to catch something you point out that I have missed and are the only places where I get real info and answers. The blogs are the only place for us fans to leave feedback with comments that actually get posted. Bravo themselves doesn’t even allow this. You are doing them a huge service and they should be kissing all of your feet for all you do for thier shows. They are shooting themselves in the foot by disreguarding you all. I want Bravo to know that without the “hobby bloggers” they would eventually not really even have shows that we care to watch. I want bravo to know that any one of you bloggers could do Andy Cohens interviews with more insight, concern for the viewers, better questions and better information. You all are, unlike Andy, in touch with the viewer. I will gladly support you all and not even bother watching some if not all Bravo shows until Bravo and Andy Cohen give and show you all the respect you so much deserve. Thank you for all you do for us, Debbie

      • LynnNChicago says:

        Thanks Debbie! :)xo

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

maybe they could do better interviews but what you fail to see is Andy Cohen is the exec producer of each of those series as well as most if not ALL of the reality shows on Bravo
he is bringing the network major bucks
i love what Debbie does but doubt it really influences the outcome of any shows ratings
if miami fails it wont be because of this it will be because it sucks
just as why there most likely be a r/h of dc 2 because the ratings sucked

    • California35 says:

Lynn, THANK YOU for writing this because I was a bit lost. I wasn’t sure how to ask or what to say…

I have said that I dint want to watch NYHW after finding out a couple of the cast mates were coming back, but thanks to being in this blog I changed my mind. Thing that I should give it a try. I got interested and hoped I would like it. Little by little, I was getting excited and looking forward to…because of this blog and the comments here!! Then they go and move the date!!???

      I am with you…

I was so disappointed that when I heard about Miami’s I didn’t want to see it. I really didn’t! Then I read some things about it here, I get intrigued and saw some Latin faces, and thought “ok I will give it a try”. Again, because of this blog and the comments here!

      I am with you…

Now…what are we going to talk about now? There are other shows and other tv channels we watch. Maybe we can start a list of those, to find those we have in common. Maybe is too soon….either way, I am with you and your followers 🙂

    • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

      I support you 100% Lynn~
I think you do help Bravo & their shows.
This is the only place we know we can come & talk about the shows & honestly be heard by everyone whether other people agree or not.
Bravo makes you wait & usually does not post what you say anyway that’s why I am here too. I hope you get the recognition you & all the other bloggers deserve.
      Love to all..

    • Kellita says:

I totally support you in this, Lynn! I recorded RHOM last night with the intent to watch it today. I was really on the fence, not wanting to invest in a whole new show with a whole new cast. But the only reason I was going to watch was to join in the discussions on here because that’s really fun. Now this confirms what I was leaning towards; not to even bother to watch this one. Go you and the other bloggers!

  31. DarkSonnet says:

I agree with Windy’s comments and I will also being saying NO to Miami.

I don’t think you are asking for too much at all. Bravo is using the popular blogs as focus groups right now and it is indeed a one way street.

  32. HD says:

OT-My goodness…watching Anderson Cooper…what the hell is going on in this world?

    The Revolution WILL be televised!

    • WindyCityWondering says:

It is beyond crazy – killing doctors for treating victims, dumping blood supplies, flying planes and steering warships to other countries – how do you have a revolution when the “military” just says no? This won’t end well.

  33. Listen Lynn, I remember asking Andy months ago to consider having you as a guest
on WWHL. If it wasn’t for you and these blogs, Bravo wouldn’t have a clue as to what the
“real “watching public thinks and feels about these shows- they basically ignore their
own blogs. We all know they read the boards and have gotten limitless free feedback
    on a multimillion dollar industry.
I think the internet is moving even faster than they are capable of understanding, and
they need to address the power and influence that the boards have. (and i’m not
even considering the craziness that is twitter) Bravo knows who you are-they just
don’t know what to do with you yet! they will soon enough, i consider it growing
pains on their part- they’ll come around, they have to. (I also think they are
somewhat afraid of the talent, if you can call it that, and how they will react)
I respect what you’re doing, and understand it as well. If you say no Miami,
    well then- no Miami.
after all, you listened to us when no one else would, it’s the least we can do to
    show you our appreciation.
    My best to you always—Bev

    • Nancy says:

Lynn should be on Bravo’s payroll!

      • HD says:

Just like they had those people on WWHL asking questions and whatnot, how do you get on the show? Where is the show taped? Can you request tickets for the show? There has to be a way. He said he had super fans in the audience. How do you get qualified as a super fan?

I know people may not know the answer to these questions they just popped in my head and I posted them.

        • error404 says:

IIRC Andy once said he worked in 30 Rock, so I assume WWHL is filmed in some NBC studio in Rock Center. Usually you write the show, get on a list, and after some time they mail you the tickets.

    • LynnNChicago says:

Thank you so much Bev! I hope this works… we just want a little recognition. We’ll see.. 🙂 Love the support – much appreciated! xo

  34. cdnfillie58 says:

I won’t be watching RHM either, and not blogging about it won’t hurt my feelings any. Besides that…I’m not passing up my favorite tv show The Good Wife for another bunch of crazy housewives IMO 😉

  35. mbdea says:

I’m only 15 minutes in and I already agree with your decision not to blog about the RHOM.
    1. ITA w/ your rational for not covering it on your blog
    2. So far, RHOM is OTT flamboyant (not classy at all) and contrived. I’m Latina and feel embarrassed by the attitude of these women; their loudness, lewdness, self-adulation and pretension. So far, not one with ANY redeeming qualities. All this adds up to one B-O-R-I-N-G franchise.
    3. Miami Hispanics are a tiny market when compared to the rest of the US Hispanics (I work in marketing/advertising and specialize in the US Hispanic market) but because they’re the loudest (in all aspects) many confuse them as authentic representations of Latinos and worse, as influencers (so far from reality). To me, the RHOM is the same of the same-old boastful, flamboyant loud-mouth Latinas. To put it in perspective, so far, I’ve found these women to be like a bunch of Latina Jill Zarins; loud and obnoxious materialistic spotlight hogs.

No need to waste your time.

    • quincyil says:

It’s recorded on my dvr, but I have other things to attend to this week. The comments of board members and Lynn helped me make this decision. Thanks.

    • error404 says:

sounds like an interesting job! Is it?

please indulge my ignorance, if you will: aren’t most of the Miami Latinos displaced Cuban’s i.e rich people who fled Castro, while most TX and CA are Mexicans who came over for a better life, and most of NY Latinos are Puerto Rican?

I’m Italian American and RHoNJ just makes me cringe! lol But at least that’s just one small country, it’s so much worse summing up an entire race by the population of one city. It’s barely begun and already one reviewer has used “the c word”: Charo!

      • Brigid A. says:

Without researching demographics, I think it’s true that Miami’s Hispanic population is predominantly Cuban. I have met several people here in SoCal from the Cuban community, all having family in friends in the Miami area.

SoCal has a large community of Hispanics from Mexico but also Central America and South America (Ecuador, Peru and Chile in particular).

  36. BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Have not seen Miami wives~wanted to watch just for the beach scenes.
Can’t wait for Bethenny because I am living through her as far as watching Bryn grow up since we don’t have children. It’s getting pretty boring watching most these shows just being about who has the biggest house, most diamonds, hottest husband etc..
On some shows OC for example you can replace one head for another. They all look like blond aliens with those stretched features.
I never thought I would see grown women fight like children & film it for our entertainment. I watched these shows because of Bethenny & Jill in the beginning at the house in the Hamptons & all the fun they were having without shopping & throwing parties that cost 60,000 dollars.
When you have booze at these parties & they always do..someone is going to be a bitch or worse like we saw with Kyle & Kim.
Really getting tired of the fighting & using it through the whole season. Must be something more interesting they could do that we would love to watch with the occasional kitty fight but say you are sorry & move on. Don’t drag them out for weeks & weeks. It makes me feel like these people are very stupid on drugs or booze or all three.
