Camille Grammer from the Red Carpet at the Oscars CNN

Camille Grammer

Camille didn’t interview celebrities, rather she was co-hosting the show, along with several others, commenting on fashion and their chances at taking home the Oscar, then they sent the feed down to the red carpet where someone else spoke directly to the celebrities. Camille was introduced no less than twenty times after each commercial break they seemed to reintroduce her and I found it very odd that each and every time they added, “Star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. Was that in her contract that they had to plug the show a dozen times? Or was this something that Camille wanted announced frequently? If so…WHY?

This isn’t E! or Bravo, this is CNN and I doubt viewers really cared that she was a Real Housewife especially the 10th time it was mentioned, besides she quit Housewives so why keep announcing it? All in all Camille’s input into the Pre-Oscar show on CNN was minimal and added nothing to the program. That said Camille is growing on me, I actually like her but her appearance was basically a waste of Camille Grammer. She didn’t like any of the dresses, as she tried to throw out zingers, they fell flat with her flat co-host. He must have drawn the short straw over at CNN to get this assignment.

Camille tweeted before the show that she was nervous, completely understandable.  DC Housewife Lynda Erkiletian tweeted to Camille:

@TheRealLyndaDC  TO:  @TheRealCamilleG so the day has finally arrived. I can see from the tweets you have tons of support. Just wanted to wish you the best 2nite.

I think the two housewives have bonded over the “Real” in their Twitter names, it is nice to see Housewives supporting each other.  Later Lynda tweeted that she wasn’t able to get Camille’s broadcast in DC so she missed seeing Camille’s debut.  Did Lynda forget to pay her cable bill?  (kidding!)

During Camille’s appearance on CNN, they did dare to utter her ex-husband’s name as her co-host asked her if Kelsey Grammer would prepare acceptance speeches for award ceremonies. As the guy made it sound like a crime if celebrities fail to prepare ready made speeches, Camille happily told him that Kelsey never prepared a speech, he would wing it, then added how very talented he was to be able to do that.  Here is a video of one of those Emmy speeches as Camille looks on…

CNN’s Oscar coverage switched from the broadcast booth to the red carpet with an animated gold Oscar sliding across the screen and a screeching noise like nails on a chalkboard was played, it was horribly obnoxious. Camille rotated into the broadcast with two other co-hosts, what is CNN doing? What a mess! The entire broadcast was shaky, unorganized, awkward and really dull.

After the broadcast, Camille tweeted:

@TheRealCamilleG:  Now I can breathe….. And relax

Camille’s ex husband Kelsey Grammer wasted no time as a single guy, he is already re-married (apparently again with no pre-nup) with is son in attendance but not his daughter, read about it here:

Are Reality Stars taking over New York Fashion Week?

Are reality stars taking over Fashion Week in New York City forcing the A list starts to stay away? It sure seems like it as the Mercedes Benz Tents overflow with the likes of Jill Zarin and Kim Kardashian while Scarlett Johansen, Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore stay away. Formerly regulars at New York Fashion week, many of the A List celebrities, we’ve seen attending in the past are worthy of note only due to their glaring absence.

Even Caroline Manzo’s son’s were seen and Johnny Weir made an appearance, do the A list stars want to be seen at the same events?

The real A List stars apparently attend Paris and London Fashion Week these days.

Caroline Manzo

Jodie Foster and Jessica Alba attended Paris Fashion Week but where were they when Mercedes Benz hosted New York’s Fashion Week? Do you suppose these ladies are willing to sit in the front row next to Caroline Manzo and Ramona Singer?

Mary and Lolly Amons attend Fashion Week

Even London Fashion Week attracted stars likes Rachel Bilson and Kate Bosworth but both stars skipped New York’s festivities.

Just three years ago, Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman and Eva Longoria attended New York Fashion week in support of Diane Von Furstenberg but who was at DVF’s show this year? Well, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen were there.

Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Sarah Jessica Parker

As recently as 2008 Renee Zelwegger, Winona Rider, Ellen Pompeo and Nicole Ritchie were spotted attending Caroline Herrera’s show in the tents but none where to be found this year as this year Eonline actually counted Jill Zarin as one of the five biggest celebrities at New York Fashion Week. She is joined in the top five by High School Musical’s, Vanessa Hudgens and rapper Kayne West. Doesn’t that give you the shivers?

Kanye West and Vanessa Hudgens

All is not lost, Melissa and Joan Rivers, Ramona Singer and Elisabeth Hasselback were all in attendance this season.

Fergie was snapped attending a few shows and Debra Messing put in an appearance, how do the designers feel about this change in their audience? Will their clothing get the same exposure appearing on Jill Zarin walking the red carpet as it would on Halle Berry’s lovely figure?

More Problems for Jill Zarin

Jill had a rude conversation with a “fan” on Twitter, and this time, it wasn’t me!

@JillZarin: On plane. I rearranged everyone in first class so I could sit next to bobby? His bday in tomorrow. Kiss at midnight!

TO @JillZarin: so you’re that annoying person who wants to play musical chairs on a damn plane? I HATE people like u! Especially in first class

@JillZarin: Too bad!

TO: @JillZarin: Do you realize just how obnoxious you are? This isn’t your world Jill. No wonder people hate you!!

@JillZarin: Thank you for birthday wishes! I will tell Bobby!

This “fan” did NOT send Birthday wishes to Bobby. I see Jill couldn’t keep her big mouth shut for any substantial length of time. First why would you tweet that you rearranged “everyone” in First Class? We all know that is just a lie. Common sense tells us she may have had to ask one person to change seats in order to sit next to her husband, so why blow it up to make her seem more important and more vile than she already is?

Then why get into it with someone on Twitter over this idiocy? Jill had to know that someone was going to give her hell about that tweet, it’s just more bragging and typical Jill trying to make herself look more important than she is. Why carry on with someone on Twitter? I have to say though, its good to have the old Jill back!  The good old days.

Thank you to OneMoreInBoston for pointing out this post, a legal battle that is *Allegedly* Jill Zarin, the former Jill Kamen.  It is an old case and at this point we don’t know if this is “Our” Jill Zarin but draw your own conclusions:

Welcome to Chicago Dina Manzo

Dina tweeted that as her Puerto Rico vacation with her daughter ended she would be flying off to Chicago, she did seem excited about it. Dina will also return to Chicago in April for a Project Ladybug event.

@DinaManzo: not gonna lie, excited for WHY I’m going to Chicago in the morning but so not into packing & traveling right now :/

Jacqueline Laurita Responds

After posting my Profile of Jacqueline Laurita, I received a very nice email from her.  It is reported that the Real Housewives of New Jersey are in Cabo San Lucas (aka Scary Island Part 2?) filming but she took the time to send a very nice, detailed email to thank me for the Profile and she said it made her cry. Jacqueline also gave me a few tips on what is coming up on the new season in New Jersey, I can’t give you details because I promised but I can tell you that you should plan to watch! This won’t be the Real Housewives of New Jersey that we saw last season.

Jacqueline Laurita

You can read my portrait of Jacqueline here:

Portrait of a Housewife Jacqueline Laurita @ http://look.ac/hB0mzR

One thing that I can share with you about Jacqueline’s email isn’t any shocking news but she reminded me that we see only a small portion of their lives on the show. Jacqueline said that Bravo chooses to air only bits and pieces of conversations and a very small percentage of their lives.

We’ve heard this before from many housewives. We typically hear it from Housewives who have made asses of themselves or been complete bitches on screen.  Some blame editing, others just remind us that we’re not seeing the entire picture all the time.

In Jacqueline’s case, my profile did go into some of her cringe-worthy moments that I’m sure she is not all that proud of, that said I wanted to remind Jacqueline of something that all of the housewives should realize. While they complain of editing and that we only see small portions of their lives, this is not anything we viewers can control either. We have nothing else to go by other than those few minutes of their lives, we’re just as stuck as they are in this arena.

We can only comment on, discuss and yes, even judge the Housewives based on what we are allowed to see. So I think we can all agree that Bravo is the bad guy. (kidding!)

While my profile criticized Jacqueline’s behavior at the Posche Fashion Show last season, she reminded me that we didn’t see the entire thing.  We didn’t see what may have provoked her and prompted her to chase Danielle through the country club.  We can’t control that either, we can only go by what we’re shown.  Apparently much happened that we were not privy to.

Cat Ommanney – The Real Housewives of DC

Cat announced once again last week that we haven’t seen the last of the DC Housewives, she noted that while there has been longer than usual between filming the first season and the second, we shouldn’t write them off just yet.  Cat said she was “confident” we would see a Season Two.

Cat’s new book “Inbox Full” is getting excellent reviews, she will be hosting a book launch party in Ted Gibson’s Salon in New York City.

The Washington Post did a story on the DC Housewives last week:

What is the delay Bravo?  Could they be in search of new Housewives to replace Michaele Salahi, we do have confirmation that if the DC Housewives return, she will not be part of the show.  Cat told me when I interviewed her that Salahi was just too much of a liability.  I could see that.

REALITY BUZZ with Lynn Hudson! Catching up with Cat Ommanney http://j.mp/hY1o3

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is apparently going to have some casting changes as Camille Grammer has confirmed that she will not be returning for another season. While most housewives are locked in to a 3-year commitment when they initially sign on for this, I’m sure Camille had better “people” than most Housewives and gave her an out.

Similarly Kim Richards is rumored to be leaving the show. I certainly don’t blame either Housewife, each for their own different reasons to be moving on with their lives.

Who will take their places? Well rumor has it that Eddie Cipriani’s ex-wife Brandi Glanville is signing on. Arrested last October for driving while intoxicated, Brandi was dumped by Mr. Cipriani in a very public scandal in which he immediately took up with Country Singer, Leann Rimes.

Eddie Cipriani and LeAnn Rimes

Another possible replacement is Denise Richards, ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and mother to his two daughters, Denise had her own reality show on VH1 that did not do well in the ratings.

Not knowing Brandi at all makes it difficult for us to predict whether or not she would be a good fit for the Beverly Hills Housewives. Denise Richards, on the other hand seems to have matured and grown substantially since we saw her swearing and making fool of herself on her own show. Recently Denise has made appearances on The View, The Talk and other talks shows and I have to say that as much as I didn’t want to like her, I was impressed with her attitude and grace. In the face of her ex-husband’s idiotic behavior and scandals surrounding her divorce, she has matured into an upstanding woman. She refused to speak negatively about her ex-husband noting that he was the father of her children.

Do you suppose Bravo has a prerequisite for new Beverly Hills housewives stating that they have to have gone through a very public divorce in order to qualify.

I was impressed by the way that Camille Grammer handled her divorce. She didn’t splash quotes bashing her husband all over the entertainment rags, she didn’t slam the guy on talk shows or in tabloids. People know that she was wronged by Kelsey Grammer yet Camille kept her composure and grace remaining silent. With complete honesty and a few healthy digs at Kelsey, she got through a really rough time in her life and has come out the other side with many fans and admirers.

Kelsey Grammer is right, Hollywood is finished with him, he may just need to live off his residual checks and whatever gigs he can get on Broadway . I don’t thin the public would tolerate him in a sitcom role again or even a dramatic acting on television, we don’t want to see that dirt bag in our living rooms.

Best we can tell, we’re going to have to tolerate Taylor Armstrong for another season, alongside Kyle, Lisa and Adrienne. I don’t think any of these ladies need the money, I think they enjoy the attention, the fans and the fun. Lisa in particular has really gotten into being a Housewife complete with her dog tweeting and blogging.

Popeater did a story about Housewives divorces and you’ll find an interview with Camille Grammer as well.

Finally, don’t forget tonight on Bravo, Bethenny Ever After premiers at 10pm/9pm Central.

From her newsletter:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K3t0AvfJn8

Reminder to set your DVRs to ‘Bethenny Ever After‘.  Since it’s a new show title, it won’t automatically record it and I wouldn’t want you to miss it!

I’m writing to you as I sit in my Miami hotel room, watching my beautiful baby Bryn in her crib. I forcefully decided to take a “mommy and me” week at probably the most inconvenient time ever: the week right before my show launches, when I’m supposed to be doing nothing but promoting my show.

Instead, I’m buying “swimeez” for Bryn, taking walks on the beach, doing “batheez” and having a “no boys allowed” girls’ week in the sun. This was the best idea of my life and it will definitely become an annual tradition.

I’m so excited for my show’s premiere and for all the other incredible things to come, but nothing compares to all the new gifts that motherhood and marriage bring every day. If all I do is work and run nonstop, I’ll be missing the beauty of being in the moment. As someone once said to me, “If you’re not having fun then what’s the point?” I’m just so used to being a survivor and fighting to get somewhere that it took me a moment to realize that maybe I’m here. I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. We take on too much. Often “no” is the most powerful word. Ironically, my next book is called “A Place of Yes,” but saying “no” to others can sometimes mean saying “yes” to yourself.

Bryn is crawling and starting to talk, and I don’t want to miss any of it. The past year has been so incredible and you have been part of it. I have experienced success in so many areas of my life. I owe some of that success to you, some to myself, and some to the universe that gave me what I asked for and knew I could have.

I’m really proud of my show. It is my life: the good, the bad, the ugly, but most of all, the truth. Marriage, motherhood, work, and life are all challenging, but they can be so rewarding. Shooting a TV show is exhausting, but I’m so proud of “Bethenny Ever After,” and I always give it to you straight. It doesn’t have to be a guilty pleasure. It can just be a pleasure. So tonight, while watching, laugh, cry and have a Skinnygirl Margarita. I’ll be doing the same thing!

The Skinnygirl Night Out Tour starts again in March! See when the Skinnygirl Bus will be rolling into a town near you. Here are some upcoming dates:

March 4: Palace Theatre, Stamford, CT
March 5: Hanover Theatre, Worcester, MA

I think Jill Zarin thinks she is having fun and she shares what happens in her life with twitter. Her sense of humor is less Midwestern and more NYC. Bethenny is honest about her humor and whit. Bethenny’s humor is more NYC. If we were the targets of Bethenny’s whit, we might not enjoy it as much as we do. Being a target is no fun. I can see why the housewives have issues with these two women. I can also see that they are trying to be funny.

    • AZ Girl says:

I don’t think Jill is very intelligent or worldly. But Jill think’s she is. Jill’s last tweet was about the Oscar’s and how she hates the long monologes from “strangers” and wants to see “stars”.
I am assuming that the “strangers” are technical engineers, script writers, directors, costume designers etc.
Ummm those “strangers” are the backbone of the film industry. They are what make and break a movie.
Her comment is dumb and she is dumb.

    • Cusi77 says:

Quincy_ The difference betweeen Jill wit and Bethenny’s is GINORMOUS becuase B also makes witty remarks on herself and when she is out of line with others, she apologizes… unlike J! Jill is soooo selfabsorded to even realize that her jokes are not funny at all! That is the reason I like B and dislike J!

    • klmh says:

I agree. There is a big difference in regional “snark” and it is not readily acceptable in my neck of the woods, especially if its targeted to you.

  2. HD says:

The pictures really add a lot ot the blog. I like them. I think the NYand probably the BH housewives were always going to fashions shows. I will never forget Jill having that fit in season one about the seating. The rest of them I think attend now because it is “fashionable.” I mean no offense to Caroline but she doesn’t even look like she likes to dress up or anything. She probably never did any of that stuff before the show.

    • California35 says:

That is one thing I notice about NJHW actually. They are more “normal/basic” I am not sure what the appropriate word is, but basically like they didn’t really lived a glamours life. Wether they have money or not, they seemed like family/work/traditions kind of people not involved in or used to big parties, cameras, shopping and travels. That was one of the things that got my attention at first. Thinking although I want to see those other things (we had NY for that), I was also going to like NJ. I figured that was the Bravo’s purpose, to have diferent kinds of HW’s. Then of course other things happened 😛

  3. kbinldo says:

The first thing they teach you in Acting 101 is how to draft your Academy Award acceptance speech. And no, I’m not kidding. 🙂

While I’m not defending either man’s behavior, Charlie Sheen appears to have been a “dirt bag”, drugging and whoring his way through the past year.. His show didn’t suffer in ratings or advertising revenues until he went ballistic last week, lapsing into self-proclaimed ‘Warlock’ mode, dissing his executive producer. He maintained legions of fans.. they aren’t the ones that forced the production to shut down. People still accepted Charlie regardless of his behavior.
Why should Kelsey Grammar be any different or anymore accountable for cheating on Camille and remarrying? I think “Frasier” has many fans that would watch a new show. To suggest that he wouldn’t succeed because of his extramarital affair and his treatment of Camille is ridiculous. To say she never bad-mouthed Kelsey while separated is simply wrong.. I think intimating that your spouse liked to dress in women’s underwear and was sexually kinky even deviant, is far more than ” a few healthy digs”. I think she made a couple more choice revelations as well.

    • HD says:

Totally agree. Hollywood is known for affairs and that doesn’t stop people from going on to be successful.

    • FlowerPower (no longer StillaWallflower) says:

I agree! What happened in their marriage doesn’t influence whether or not I’d watch him on TV. If he had a good show, I’d watch.

And Camille wasn’t silent during the divorce. I’m neither a fan nor an admirer of hers.

      • twoile says:

ITA, Camilles’ behavior was definately catty/obnoxious to the nth degree on camera re: other HW’S her comments re: Kelsey were a bit below the belt, no pun intended. It was clear from Camille’s own mouth that she & Kelsey lived in their own seperate sleeping quarters at opposit ends of the property, which to me spells a degree of comfort with the situatio n, that being he as provider /friend(?) & she as arm candy when called for. I don’t believe for one moment that the “hints” of change were not written on the proverbial wall, but I also do believe Camille didn’t read them ( I might do the same) denial in the face of change/loss is not unusual. Camille is recouperating well in the face of all this public personal pain/humility. I think 50 million contributes to the healing substantially.;0) I also think it will be another “trauma” when K&K break up eventually. My compassion is with the childrn who must be very hurt & confused, another mother (replacement parts)loss of dad with immediate celebration of a weding all within a 6mos time frame, now that is PAIN that will have lifetime consequences, hope for the best, plan for the worst. (preventitive care is best) Jeanne

    • val says:

Actually, he was in a few sitcoms the past couple years. One was with Patricia Heating. It was on for one season. And he had one one recently this year that only lasted a few episodes. Can’t remember the names of either one. I agree, if the show is good people will watch it. They won’t care about his affair.

    • Undermywheels says:

If he’s a freak, she married him knowing that. Why talk shit now? makes her look like a ho, bought and paid for. I can’t stand her, those eyes are dead like a reptile’s.

  5. plainviewsue says:

After reading Jill’s tweets, I am SOOO happy that she blocked me. Why didn’t she have Bobbbbeeee get a private plane so she doesn’t have to annoy everyone in first class??? She has not changed an iota.

  6. WindyCityWondering says:

Stars, reality and otherwise, have always been at fashion shows – but it seems like now the public is more interested in seeing them instead of the actual fashions! There are so many new and upcoming designers and the stars, reality and otherwise, draw a certain amount of attention to their efforts.

I didn’t catch Camille’s efforts at the Oscars – but I did catch Tabitha (TV Guide) commenting on the hair of those who graced the red carpet. True to form – if the hair was good she said so and if the hair was bad she said so. And she looked good too!

  7. vilzvet says:

The latest name to be rumored for BH is Ayda Field, the wife of singer Robbie Williams, according to the NY Daily News. The article said she has already lunched with Lisa Vanderpump, but that Lisa has been badmouthing her first season on HW in order to deter some ladies in her circle from joining if asked. Apparently she doesn’t want any younger ladies on the show if Camille is indeed leaving.

  8. twoile says:

Tx Lynn terrific blog up to your usual standard & gr8 pics.OT HWNJ see link

  9. Brigid A. says:

Good morning everyone and thank you, Lynn! Wow, lots of info today and I’ll come back to read some of the links. Jill remains clueless about her behavior and how she is perceived. She’s totally self-absorbed and her twitter wars are just so boring.

I missed Camille’s commentary on CNN/HLN last night but I’m happy for her. Hope Kim Richards follows suit and finds a path to happiness and fulfillment.

Loved the Red Carpet arrivals last night! Natalie Portman and Mandy Moore rocked their gowns and looked so old-style Hollywood glam! Also liked Amy Adams and Nicole Kidman’s gowns and hair. Gwyneth Paltrow looked washed out with that pale gown, over-bleached hair and minimal makeup, as did Michelle Williams.

At least the weather cleared up here in SoCal for a stunningly beautiful, sunny Oscar day!

    • California35 says:

Brigid, I wasn’t able to attend they party…I really didnt get to enjoy the Oscars or the preoscars after all. I got so busy with house work, and unexpected things. I had set to record the red carpet, but it didn’t record. Luckily the Oscars was recorded, and watched some of it. I will watch the rest when I get a chance. Any ways, I only remember two of the dresses you mentioned…Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman’s. Loved them both, but you are right about the color. I liked how they fit them though. I liked Nicole’s hair also 🙂

      • Brigid A. says:

Awww Ca35, no Red Carpet party??? I was looking forward to our Best and Worst Dressed Awards! LOL! You can check out E Online or lots of other sites to see the pics. The awards program was pretty much a snooze. Please, Academy, bring back Billy Crystal or equivalent hosting talent for next year’s program!

        • California35 says:

Oh! I was thinking the same thing. I was surprised at the host pick. Why? I know there were cohosts last year, but people that have been in the business for a loooong time 🙂 These two are good at what they do and they are young and all, and I don’t dislike them….but I was surprised at the choise. I haven’t seen the whole show, so I can’t say I didn’t like them….but for what I have heard it wasn’t good. I saw when Billy Christal came in and he got a standing ovation.

  10. twoile says:

Cont’d oops forgot 2 mention that the list of episodes leads one 2 believe that there isa possi bility that both Tere & Jaque will say goodbye to the series. There is a pic of 3 new cast members, very interesting;)

  11. amia009 says:

Oh shame on you LYNN for not liking (Pain In The Ass =PITA) p.i.t.a. Jill ! What’s there not to like? You mean you dont think it’s a big deal when u have to pay extra for first class you have an obnoxiovs person like Jill messing up ur comfort cuz she wants to sit next to BAAAWBBY? I dont think your fair.(KIDDING) I cant begin to read that article about Jill to comprehend bad nite so if any one would care to explain please do i’ll check back after my nap. I know one thing I love me some Lynn and Sparkle NLace xoxo to you both.

  12. Sha2000 says:

Finally just finished watching Big Love (fell asleep last night)…I don’t know if that means she is out of the family or not but we’ll see. Who were the cops referring to? Bill & Margene when she was 16? And why did Lois hang up on whats-his-name Bruce Dern? I enjoy Big Love but they cover too much in each episode & don’t give each storyline a chance to develop enough in my opinion.

I read your comments about your aunt Margaret and I am very sorry to hear it; unfortunately a friend of mine is very ill and at home in hospice care since last Tuesday, so I truly feel your heartache. I’m on my way to visit her soon (we live very close by lucky) and as painful as it is to see her suffering, I’ve seen such love from her, her family and her group of friends it’s something that we will always cherish. I hope that you and your family finds comfort in that love too.

Wow so much to read & we have a smorgasbord of tidbits. I look forward to reading it all when I can later and being here on and off really has helped me to relax when I need it the most…thanks.

    • kbinldo says:

I’ve been watching Big Love avidly for a long time & quite frankly, I think they wrote themselves into a corner last season. I think they’re hauling Barb in because of Margene. All of the story lines are a mess & there’s only 3 or 4 episodes left in the entire series.

      • Sha2000 says:

Totally agree. The concept was good I wish they had focused on the relationship aspect rather than the hyper drama. Being HBO we knew the show would be good (we loved Sopranos and watched religiously) so my husband & I watched. He only could watch for 1 season & said the show is stupid; he realized it before me.

    • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

      Thank you so much Sha~
She is very cherished by many family & friends as well.
Our family is slightly abnormal to say the least. What should be bringing us closer just seems to not be of any interest to my closest siblings which makes it so hard on my mama.
Sorry seems to be the hardest word as the song goes for some things that have happened in our lives.
Just so glad that Auntie Margret does not realize what is happening with rest of family.
Thanks again for your sweet words & I am so sorry for the pain you are going through as well..
      Peace to us all..

  13. Adgirl says:

Kelsey already has s show in the works. A drama where he plays the mayor of Chicago (really!). His character has memory problems but tries to hide them. It’s going to be on one of the smaller networks like Turner or AMC.
Notably he waited until the divorce was filed & a new production company was formed before he signed the contract.

  14. HD says:

@Sha2000- I am pretty sure they are referring to Bill and Marge. I am sure somehow someone found out about her true age. What got me was why did Barb even step outside and just get in the police car? She didn’t even tell Bill or anything. I think she is going to spill the beans which is going to get Bill kicked out of the Senate somehow.

As for Lois (I love her character) I thought she just hung up the phone because she was going to try to sneak out of the house to get him out of the hospital. Those two really acted well together.

Big Love does cover a lot and sometimes that does not seem realistic. Okay Bill…you own Home Plus, you started a church AND you run for Senate? What else are you going to do poop gold?

    • kbinldo says:

and opened a casino on an Indian Reservation.

    • Adgirl says:

I use to love that show except I HATED the country culty stuff. I enjoyed the interfamily problems and hiding stuff from the public. It cracked me up that Chloe Sevigny’s character ran up her credit cards so she could shop for hundreds of those up to her neck dresses.

      • Sha2000 says:

Nikki is like the Erica Cain character; we can’t stand her but we love to hate her! I’m also not a fan of Bills character (big ego) so it’s hard to feel for his storyline. Love Margene & get Barb.
I’d like to know why Lois & Mary-Kay Place keep returning to lives they despise; I guess the point may be that that’s all they know, life as a verbally abused subservient woman. I do think the guy playing Albie is perfectly creepy but I’m getting tired of the recycled Juniper Creek feud…didn’t they band together against that weird woman who dressed as a man? I wish they focused more on the dynamics of the wives & the family too.

I think Jill exaggerated that tweet to make herself look zany and fun. Last week’s episode of “the Middle” had Patricia Heaton doing the EXACT SAME THING! Re-arranging people on a plane so she can sit with her husband. It was funny when Patricia did it, not so funny when Jill says she did it. Jill probably thought everyone would think it was cute and part of her wacky personna and everyone would go “Oh Jill! That’s just our Jill! Isn’t she fun?” She’s so full of crap.

  16. JenFromCincy says:

What happened to Jill’s face? It looks like it’s been stretched and tightened to the point that it might snap. So not just fillers and botox.

I really loved your portrait of a housewife, Jac Laurita. Jacqueline is one of my favorites. She’s genuinely caring and sweet and a great mother. I was tearing up over the infertility support she gave one of our boardmembers here. I know it meant so much to her.

I tried to find Camille’s Oscar broadcast last night but couldn’t find her. Oh well. If you all want to see how Allison Dubois did in predicting last night’s winners, you can see her predictions on my blog here:

Happy Monday to one and all.

Thanks Lynn for the great blog this morning. Interesting how HW filming has impacted Fashion Week in NY. I remember Beth Stern sitting next to Kelly 2 years ago in the front row while HW was filming. Howard got a lot of calls on his show about it and Howard did acknowledge that they knew Kelly from the Hamptons. I was embarrassed for Beth. Have not seen any well known faces at Fashion Week in any media.

    • LynnNChicago says:

Thanks AZ, I didn’t know that. I don’t think many celebs want to be photographed with any housewife, let alone Kelly! 🙂

      • AZ Girl says:

Yea it was embarrassing. Robin Q. was doing the news and brought up the news articles about Kelly altercation with her boyfriend. Howard sheepishly acknowledge that he and Beth knew Kelly from parties at the Hamptons. Robin was flabbergasted! She was like “You know this person”? Then everyone called in about seeing Beth next to Kelly at the fashion show on HWONY. Howard said Beth did not know Bravo was filming that day. Poor Beth.

  19. California35 says:

Hi Lynn thanks for the blog. I like how you add pictures too 🙂

It was nice of Jackeline for reaching out to you regarding your portrait of her. She did show somenegative sides on NJHW and on the reunion, but she does redime herself by apologizing. She also seem to follow the group, but once in a while she comes out to say or do her own thing. I hope the new season is better as she said, the little parts I saw of last season was not interesting. I hope they don’t mention Daniel’s name ever, since that made them (and her) not look too nice.

I am so excited about Betheny’s show tonight, I did make sure last night to set DVR to record the series not just tonight’s. I am looking forward to it because like she said on her letter, “It doesn’t have to be a guilty pleasure. It can just be a pleasure.”

  20. Olivia says:

Lynn, since you allow it, I am going to disagree with you here concerning not seeing these women in their entirety. I think we do. The confusion for them, and their constant need to remind us of this fact, is that we do not see them in the way they intend. Rather than the envy and approval they seek, we see through the transpancy and judge them otherwise.

Remember these are women who are essentially plucked from obscurity but who do seek the attention when presented with the opportunity. They are women who see themselves as “fabulous” in their own right and relish the chance to “share” this phenomenon of themselves with the world. Why else would anyone allow a camera crew into their lives unless they were assured that the world at large would fall in love with them and their “wondrous” existence? They wish to spread that “adoration” of themselves far and wide.

Jill is a perfect example of this. Believing from Season 1 that she had us all enamored of her wit, fashion sense, mothering skills, business acumen, sound advice, and spending excess, she bristles at the fact that the “fans” were able to see the real Jill at work as these seasons progressed. Petty, backbiting, status grabbing Jill Zarin was taken off her pedestal by her own behavior. She has fought a battle to be placed back on that totem pole ever since.

Jacqueline Laurita showed her true colors by “pretending” to be the solid friend, oh so willing to back up that support in defense of Danielle. But her “true colors” emerged through the unchecked behavior of her out of control daughter and her actions of standing outside Danielle’s car the night of that infamous fashion show and behaving like a bully. Apart from a phony storyline that was gerrymandered around “all things Danielle”, her willingness to play along with that violence and vulgarity allowed us to view her lack of integrity up close and personal.

And why, when the press and the public have discovered the duplicity and shadiness of Teresa would she be willing to return for another season when she has been exposed for what and who she really is? A grifter, a deadbeat, an compulsive liar who has placed her family in the limelight because of who she really is. Someone who believes in her own “fabulousness” that she is willing to offer more of her self centered behavior up for public consumption. “Ain’t I nice?” is really how she sees herself, not the spoiled, vulgar piece of work that she is.

We may not ever see them folding laundry, clipping coupons, taking the kids to the dentist since these are “ordinary” facts of daily life that go unobserved. What we do see is the “realness” underneath the weaves, injections, blown up busts, short skirts, and tons of makeup that emerges from these episodes. The willingness to be as mean, nasty, hateful, excessive, brutal, and vile as long as they can maintain a place on a series that showcases them in the worst possible light.

If they had a shred of intelligence or a lick of self awareness they would see what has been presented as “reality” is more than the silhouette of themselves they wish to share. It is actually a snapshot of who they really are and no amount of editing can change that perception.

Ramona cannot help herself as she reminds us so often of how smart, good looking, and delightful she is when in reality she comes across as shallow, inappropriately dressed, and a rather spiteful drunk. LuAnn and her “pretensions” are on constant display. Far from being “classy” she comes across as a sneaky snake with little interest in her own kids. Vicki and her drive for success shows a woman whose interests lies in money and control and I would not want to be within 6 feet of her.

It is not a question of scenes the camera does not show. The ones that are shown have given us a pretty good idea of who these people are. Their confusion is based on the fact that we do not see them for what they hope to convey. They are pretty transparent bunch.

I do have to say I could not stand Phaedra in the beginning but it seems her true personality finally came out on the show and I enjoyed her. She is still a liar but I understand why she lied when it comes to her mom and religion and whatnot. Maybe she was trying to be a character and after a while she revealed her true self. You can only wear a mask for so long.

I have seen things editted to make someone look bad but editting does not put words into your mouth for example the crazy medium on BH. She tried to blame editing but editing doesn’t make you say you want to stick an electronic cigarette up someone’s behind now does it?

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

HD- In the beginning I really thought that Phaedra was like a performance artist- there was just no way anyone could make the comments that she was making and not be doing it to get everyone’s knickers in a knot. Spam-gate? hello?
So I always liked her crazy cray cray- but she’s calmed down a little bit- I re watched the reunion yesterday and she came off pretty well.

LYNN LYNN ATTENTION ATTENTION LYNNN = You have to google Caroline’s husband – Albert Manzo. He was in the New Jersey paper – something about he is one of the Commisioners of the North Jersey Water Deparmtent ??? Governor Christie is looking into how it is run – I really don’t understand it. Anyway, he apparently gave his voting address as the Brownstone, which is in Passaic County, instead of his home address in Franklin Lakes, which is in Bergen County. I hope you find it interesting. You can google the paper at northjersey.com.

    • KookADoodleDo says:

“Additionally, one of the commissioners must explain an apparent discrepancy in his address which would have affected his appointment. Albert Manzo, who co-owns the Brownstone catering hall in Paterson — home to many Democratic political fund-raisers — listed his business as his home address when he was appointed in 2008 even though he lives in Franklin Lakes.

By listing the Paterson address, state Sen. John Girgenti, D-Hawthorne, had senatorial courtesy over the nomination. Manzo was able to avoid being blocked by legislators in his home district.

A woman who answered the phone at the Brownstone on Saturday said Manzo was on vacation and could not be reached. Manzo’s wife, Caroline, is a cast member on Bravo television’s “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” His father, Albert “Tiny” Manzo, was the victim of a gangland-style murder in 1983.”

      • Adgirl says:

Every single article about the Manzo’s ends with:

“Albert “Tiny” Manzo, was the victim of a gangland-style murder in 1983.”

I’ll bet it was on their wedding announcement in the newspaper.

I think Jill has crossed the line yet again. Is she so special that she has the right to change the seating in first class?

  23. Adgirl says:

It’s the designers or that Kelly Cutrone bish that decides who will sit where at the fashion shows right? Is Bravo paying struggling designers to seat reality people up front?

can’t wait for bethenny! but hey…. at 9 on travel channel, my beloved Anthony Bourdain (judge on top chef too, for those who don’t know) returns with a new season of the amazing NO RESERVATIONS. this episode will be set in Haiti. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us! and just as he goes off air, Bethenny comes on! i know what i’m doing tonight

  25. Olivia says:

The point is that their offscreen behavior speaks volumes.

Dina would have us believe that she is into some inexplicable “spiritual journey” but her comments on Twitter led us to another mean spirited, vengeful, smartmouth airhead who struck back with venom when challenged. So much for the “halo”.

Danielle would have us believe she was a “rehabilitated success” who had put her shady past behind her but who was actively engaged in making porn videos for sale which led to her being fired by Bravo.

Gretchen would have us believe she was a long suffering fiance sitting by as her “fiance” fought for his life when it was revealed she was a two timing gold digger who had a boyfriend on the side during the entire season.

Teresa would have us believe that she is a devoted mother with a penchant for shopping when it was revealed she was 11 million dollars in debt and behaved like an animal in front of her own kids while using language that would rival a sailor on leave. Hints that Juicy Joe may have a drinking problem along with an eye for the ladies put paid to that “loving marriage” theory she was sending out to the “fans”.

Trashley was living with a guy not some unnamed “friend”. The Salahi’s were not the creme de la creme of DC. Sonia gets arrested for driving drunk. Ramona slaps a producer and “outs” LuAnn’s teen. Alexis Bellino and her hubby face foreclosure. Taylor and Russell may have a shady business past. Vicki and Donn’s “renewal” was bogus. Kim Richards may have a substance abuse problem. Much of the “real life” of these people is far more interesting than the excessive image they wish us to accept.

There is no way to cover Kelly’s ignorance. No way to explain away Tamra’s slutty behavior. No way to suggest that Lynn Curtin was in control of her girls. They may all be following a script, all employing their own dialogue to ease us through a segment, but in the end the essence of each castmate is caught on camera by their own willingness to behave as directed even if it is aimed at their own detriment.

There is not one of us with a modicum of critical thinking that would accept Jill Zarin’s fantasy of herself as the doyenne of NY society, a sought after presence at every affair, and a beloved “friend” to those around her. What you see is who she is. A driven and pathetic woman who must have the camera on her in order to breathe.

Kind of like most of these ladies who join her in this pursuit.

Since Sasha mentioned you blogging, I am curious, do you have an interest in that? I think you would be good at it as well.

    • KookADoodleDo says:

      Perfectly stated Olivia!

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

      ahhh- Olivia. Olivia. Olivia.

Yes, I agree with all of it.

BUT one point I would like to make: IMHO I think Bravo sets these women up over and over again and then: BAM pulls the rug right out from under them. I think they are so cossetted, ego- stroked, and plain old spoiled that they all begin to relax just a little bit on camera and let their true colors show. THEN you see the tears and the bewilderment after Bravo shows their ugly sides.

I am probably the only one that likes Faye-and I liked her because she knew the game and how to play it. She gave them just enough to film and make it interesting but not enough to totally mortify her down the road. She was very guarded and with good reason.

And what can I say about our little porn star Danielle? Straight Up Old School Hustler- just hustling any old which way she can. Think about the chutzpah of that one! She actually filmed a PORNO while appearing on RHONJ! She really thought she could out- hustle the biggest hustler of them all: Bravo. Epic Fail.

      • Austin says:

I don’t Faye handled herself poorly at all on her appearance of the RHWoBH. She certainly handled herself better than that crazy psycho. . . I mean psychic and most of the other dinner guests. And after Camille was so nasty to Faye, throwing big rocks from her glass house, I don’t blame Faye for pulling up Camille’s porno on her fancy phone once they got in the limo. Probably not her proudest moment, to be sure, but kind of understandable.

I don’t appreciate the teasers. I could get those on Bravo. “Watch What Happens….”. I thought the whole point of being a hobby blogger, and the point of the boycott was to share what you learned. You get a DM from JL with info and you don’t share? Why should we support your boycott for more Bravo info if all you are going to share is, “I can’t tell you, but watch what happens…” I understand your word is very important to you, and I admire that, but what end goal are you trying to reach? Getting a Bravo banner on the top of your blog? Which would just ensure that you have to keep your lip buttoned until the honchos tell you it’s okay to spill? I have defended you relentlessly on other blogs that are making a mockery of this boycott. But, this post makes me wonder why I did. I enjoy this blog very much, but I am totally confused on what your agenda is. You are making no sense to me.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

      I see it differently.

I think the goal of the blogger was to be able to contact the cast so that when they write their blogs they could include statements and insiders perspective. Since Lynn isn’t writing about the current season, if she shared any details now, all she would be doing is leaking information. I don’t think that was her goal….

But more so, she gave her word that she would not reveal it (at least yet). I value and respect her integrity. When Lynn is able to share, she will.

    • LynnNChicago says:

One thing has nothing to do with the other. I’m trying to open communication with the people at Bravo.

Jacqueline Laurita emailed me to thank me for the Profile that I wrote on my Associate Content site…two completely different things.

      • sugarmagnolia10 says:

I don’t see why they are different. What I see in front of me is someone who has information and is unwilling to share it because of your agreement, unspoken or not, between a source, which just so happens to be a cast member. So, if Tamra sends you a message about the Jeana fight, are you going to tell us that Tamra sent you info, but not share it? I think you could have just shared that Jac sent you a nice email regarding your portrait. But you didn’t…you pulled the “watch what happens” card. And, Lynn, PUH-Leeze spare me the “get it” crap. This is a grey area that is open to discussion, not a black or white, right or wrong thing. I was one of the first to support you on the boycott blog, and I was sincere. And I am also sincere in questioning this new development. The Lynn Hudson I started reading a year ago was all about sharing info/discussion. A year later, you have secrets and promises and boycotts. I respectfully do not agree with your line of thinking. I wish you the best in your endeavors.

        • LynnNChicago says:

You have the right to your opinion, I would never deny you that. All I can tell you is that if someone asks me to keep something to myself, I am going to honor that, no matter who it is. Whether it is a Bravo cast member or a friend or a member of this blog like you.

My goal with Bravo isn’t to get secrets to spill or stories to give away. I am trying to build a relationship with a network that I blog about, I am not asking for advance previews of shows so that I can give all the information about an episode in advance, it is so that I can watch it on my time and have the blog ready to post shortly after the show airs.

In your example, no, I would tell you exactly what Tamra said provided she didn’t ask me not to. If she didn’t bother asking me to keep quiet, chances are she’s hoping it will be made public.

How can I build relationships with these people if I can’t even maintain someone’s confidence?

          • Sha2000 says:

“How can I build relationships with these people if I can’t even maintain someone’s confidence?”

I respect that and as much as I enjoy this blog I really don’t want spoilers spoiling the shows for me.

I for one would rather hear details and back-end info AFTER I watch what happens…

            • HD says:

I do like spoilers before the show airs. I am soooooooo nosy! I just can’t help it. I have been diagnosed with nosy-itis and it is inoperable.

I can see both sides of this argument but perhaps they are two different arguments. Lynn wants communication with Bravo and not just a random DM from J.L. which could or could not happen. The original poster is claiming if you got the exclusive tidbit and didn’t share it how would that be different from sharing info on your blog that Bravo gives you?

If Bravo releases info it is because they want it out there and more than likely won’t put stipulations on it. They want and need the press from magazines, internet sites, etc. so of course they are going to allow you to talk/write about it.

What Lynn had was a personal conversation with JL and if she violates that she can pretty much kiss her word goodbye and can also kiss goodbye hearing from any of the other wives. If Lynn gets exclusives from Bravo I am going to assume she can share them. Just like when a website “leaks” a video or something. Do you think it is really leaked? Of course not. It was SUPPOSED to be leaked for press, etc.

She gave her word and she has to stand on that.

          • sugarmagnolia10 says:

Lynn, first please know above all else, I appreciate you having dialogue with me about this. I know you are good keeper of your word, and as I said before, I totally admire that. After my facebook page, this is the first site I read in the mornings with my coffee. I mostly lurk, but I know you are aware of who hits your site. That being said, I think my biggest question is, if you do open the doors of communication with Bravo, is this site just going to be another “watch what happens” thing? I am totally supportive of your efforts, and had hoped that more open communication would mean more info for your readers. I have no issues with you having more information than I, but I guess I just don’t like it dangled in front of me like the proverbial carrot. I can keep secrets too…one of my good friends from high school works in the travel industry, and she is a housewives fan. She sent me an email today about the NJ wives in the DR. I know what happened in that Hard Rock Hotel bar, but will not share as to not cause her, or her business, any harm. I know I just did what I chastised you for, but I’m just trying to illustrate that I do “get it”. But I don’t write a blog. I guess I would just prefer not to hear “watch what happens” from you. I feel somewhat that you are happy to be in the know, even if you can’t share. When you met with Silex in Chicago, you very eloquently let us know that they had shared some upcoming events, but had asked you to keep it to yourself until it was time to be revealed. I know Jac did the same, but IMO, it was handled in 2 very different ways. Perhaps the boycott is skewing my opinion…I own that. IDK….I appreciate your response and will continue to have me some Lynn with my coffee every morning. One of the things I defended you about on another site (different name) was about your openess to feedback and opinions. (there was a poster, who apparently used to post here, disagreed with you and she felt attacked by you and other posters). I disagreed with her and told her I felt you were always open to opinions and discussion. I have read trolls slamming you, and you either don’t respond, or do so with class. I still feel that way, and I hope that I am still welcomed on your board. Best…sugmag

            • LynnNChicago says:

Thank you for that post and I completely understand what you’re saying. I think you’re probably right, I should have not even mentioned that Jacqueline said anything that she asked me not to repeat.

I could have just as easily left that part out and I should have. Now I “get it” 🙂

That said, please understand that I’m not looking for Bravo to give me secrets because I know that they won’t. I won’t get anything that they don’t want the public to know. They “leak” things to TMZ and Popeater, they get advanced copies of shows to write reviews, not to reveal any storylines because Bravo would never agree to that.
Bravo sends these advanced copies because they trust these media outlets won’t reveal the entire episode or release scenes that Bravo doesn’t want out there.

So I still see them as two different things but I absolutely see your point on the Jacqueline thing and I apologize to you and to everyone. I certainly could have and should have kept that to myself.

              Thank you!

An Interview with Bethenny from TWOP:

Tonight marks the second season premiere of Bethenny Frankel’s (now better-named) spinoff Bethenny Ever After, so to promote the big event Bethenny participated in a media call to address baby Bryn, the Real Housewives marriage curse, why she decided to come back for Season 2 and, of course, Jill Zarin. Read on for highlights after the break.

What was behind your decision to keep doing the show? One would imagine it gets increasingly more difficult to have a camera crew following you around your home as you add a family and more people to your immediate lives.

Bethenny: Well, it gets more difficult and, without getting into the details of my relationship with Bravo, I have a commitment. It’s not like you get to be like, I want to do one season and then, you’ve spent all this money on advertising and crew and all of that and we’re done.
So the show does really well and Bravo’s really happy with it and, you know, they’ve been really great. And there are many things I do love about it. I think it’s a great message for women. I have developed a strong relationship with my fans and like I said, I feel a responsibility in certain ways to be open about my life. [But] will I be doing this forever? No.

You’ve mentioned how you feel the obligation to allow the cameras to film your natural daily life. But is there anything that you and Jason have drawn the line at?

Bethenny: You know, it’s not that I want them to be in here every time I go to the bathroom. It’s that if he and I in general have had the same argument six times over about marriage or money or life or in-laws or something, at some point I want to let the cameras catch that because I just hate when you watch these shows and someone’s, like, broken up with their boyfriend and you see them laying there in full makeup pretending that they’re sad. I just want it to be real and if we’re going to do this at all and we’re going to portray our relationship I want people to get the whole picture.

As you know, a lot of Real Housewives marriages have broken up and you’ve seen it on the show. Was there at all a concern over kind of that Housewives curse?

Bethenny: I mean listen, the Housewives could ruin a lot of things. I’m very happy that I’m not on the Housewives anymore because it’s just a whole different place. But my show, I’m an executive producer. I’m involved in decisions — nothing gets shot if I don’t know it’s getting shot. And if Jason and I became unhappy as a result of the show or there were problems we wouldn’t do it. The least of our problems are my show. It’s just normal things that are happening that don’t have to do with the show. It’s just us being so different and in-laws and money and the more busy I get and normal life, those are the only problems that we have that everybody in the country has. We don’t have problems because we’re shooting my show. That doesn’t create problems.

Jason was on a season of Real Housewives of New York. Were there problems then?

Bethenny: My boyfriend first season did not want to be on the show, did not think it was a good idea, had no interest in it. Jason and I could never have stayed on the Housewives together. He’s like ‘I don’t like these women. I don’t like what this represents. It’s nonsense and it’s just catty and it’s’ — you know, he hated it. And he wasn’t really on very much as you could see. He was embarrassed. He didn’t want to be part of that. So if somebody has a partner or a spouse that doesn’t want that life it’s all encompassing and it can end up being very petty and minutia and that’s not going to be easy.

Were there any moments shooting this season where you were thinking, I wish the cameras weren’t here? Like when Bryn’s changing or crying?

Bethenny: No, because then it wouldn’t be real and it wouldn’t be a good show. No, not at all. Especially with her, no, she’s just a nice, easy kid. But no, it’s just been great. I don’t regret anything because could you imagine if I just kept out everything that was embarrassing or my breakdown on my birthday or me uncomfortable with Jason’s parents or whatever, then it’d be a terrible show.

As far as your relationships with the other Housewives, has Jill Zarin met Bryn?

Bethenny: No, Jill has not met Bryn, no. That’s not even a hard one, that’s an easy one.

No relationship there at all with Jill?

    Bethenny: No, no, no.

Real City Housewife – Your blogs on Dina entertained me the most – where have they been? You’re not besties with her now, are you? (just kidding)

    • I really enjoyed my Dina blogs too, but after the wedding show there wasn’t much left to work with. Maybe I’ll check out her youtube’s and see if there’s anything there.

Bravo has steered away from most actresses. They were considering Denise and Lisa whatsherfacehasbiglips- marriedtoHarryHamlin for BH. I think they are concerned that they will be too fake and composed on screen. Kim Richards hasn’t been filmed in ages and wasn’t so PR smart.

It looks like Jill is going on a cruise with Bobby and Gloria. I wonder what happened to the cruise with Jill Zarin and family. How many tickets did she sell?

  42. Cusi77 says:

I am still not sure if I liked “B ever after”… The relationship between Jason and his parents is a bit too much for me. I come from a very united family but parents should never be in the middle or much less coming first than the wife. I have only one son living in another country and his happiness comes first! I go to see them twice a year for a couple days, my granddaughters remember me FOR SURE! But I know my place… Jason IMO does not know where to put the line… Is it just me or someone can tell what happened there? It is just bizarre… don’t know

    • boston02127 says:

Cusi—I can’t believe you’re a grandmother! When I saw the pic you sent me I thought you were in your 20’s.

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

I think a lot of the clingy ness has to do with the in laws having lost they’re first son
i cant imagine anything worse for a parent
that being said these two are still newlyweds and the in laws should give them some space
once a month vists seem very reasonable and thanksgiving and christamas together as one big family would be awesome

  43. boston02127 says:

Jason’s friend “bon jovi” drives 120 miles to get his hair done and Bethenny says “and this is what he comes back with” lol

    • Olivia says:

I am a little ambivilent about this series. I really like Jason’s parents and completely understand where they are coming from. As their only child it appears that they all share a very meaningful bond. His mother is one gracious in law as she seems to try to express her understanding of Bethenny’s schedule and time restraints. The dad seems like one of those big teddy bear types who would do anything for his family.

However, Bethenny seems more driven than necessary. When this was being filmed he admitted to still having a job of his own yet she seems to be pushing him into joining in on her business which will also include running off to LA to pursue Skating With the Stars as part of her “career plan”. Where exactly does this leave him? Everything seems to be revolving around her wants and needs and moving across country will definitely put a damper on the in law visits which I am beginning to wonder if this is her overall point.

Bethenny seems to see herself as “an inspiration” to young women but again, this is probably more or less her own fantasy. It is becoming rather obvious to me that she is a very restless personality who can only find comfort in building her own surroundings as she keeps reaching for more.

Not sure myself if this is a good thing in and of itself when she moaned through three seasons about a lack of husband, baby, family ties. It may be now that she has all that she still keeps moving toward something else to satisfy her needs. Whatever they are.

      • Cusi77 says:

Olivia, completely agree. It is good that she is seeking for help with therapy… how real is that? That is another question.

        • Olivia says:

To be honest cusi, I am not quite sure about having these sessions filmed. Because we know that a lot of these “reality” shows are scripted for the most part, are we actually witnessing a true relationship or one designed for the cameras?

I am also not quite sure why we need to see these scenes at all. It just seems to me that these “stars” are much too eager to share portions of their lives that are best left unknown to the viewing public. Privacy seems to have all but disappeared and the truth of the matter is that these scenes are now available forever which means that her own child will be subjected to her mother’s lack of barriers.

Bethenny may have issues but it is rather disturbing to hear her recite some of this stuff while the cameras are rolling. Therapy should never be filmed and I question the reasoning of her therapist in going along with this.

      • Nancy says:

To quote a line from Les Mis…

“I am reaching but I fall”

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

it was funny but its gonna wind up causing friction between the two old friends

    • HD says:

I actually didn’t think that was funny. I thought that was so rude. Everything that comes up doesn’t have to come out.

  44. boston02127 says:

I liked BEA. Bethenny is Bethenny, you either luv her or hate her. The show got me thinking about Jill. The HUGH diffrence between Bethenny and Jill…is that Jill is lazy. Bethenny has worked hard to get where she is. Jill thinks the world owes her a living.

    • Olivia says:

I like Bethenny but I find myself “cooling off” a bit. Perhaps it is a Bethenny overload. Small doses is much better in moderation.

However, the contrast between Bethenny and Jill is stark. Jill would never be caught dead in sweats and no make up. There might be a photographer lurking! Bethenny goes natural quite often and doesn’t seem to take that side too seriously.

    • CathyOP says:

I think you can also find her mostly annoying, through the whole episode of BEA. And I’m someone who loved BGM and her contribution as a RHNY.

She’s a snob. Or, maybe she just had to be funny so making cracks about strangers was all there was to comment about.

None of this means I think it’s all gone to her head. I think it was already in her head all along, the reaching, the ambition. I have no problem with any of that.

One thing I did love was her admitting she doesn’t even know when or if she’s wrong to feel the things she does, she only knows to communicate. I think long talks with Jason would be plenty. I’d never feel the need to try to set boundaries like that with his parents, it’s just too soon. Each one of them needs to able to enjoy their place in each other’s lives without all this unnecessary anxiety and tension. It’s all too new to all of them and they are creating so much tension when they need to just “be”.

I like Bethenny when she’s laughing at her neuroses more than watching her living inside them. Of course, this is just one episode and as a personality she is on balance still more likable to me than not.

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

I dont think she is a snob at all
If you spent most of your life in NYC and then went to any small town in Penn your reaction would be quite the same
I know it is that way for me and i grew up in NJ
but when Jimmy & I vist his family that moved to Bangor Pa
OMG it is def a trip thru the twilight zone

        super homophobic
        super super racist
and people wear things you wouldnt be caught dead in 20 years ago let alone now

        • CathyOP says:

No, I don’t think I would react the same way. And I think it’s the very definition of snobbery to reduce individuals into neat, and not very original and unwitty stereotypcial asides.

You’ve cast a whole lot of people under a couple of stereotypes and I’m sorry but no wonder you don’t see it.

I know these sterotypes are real, but I know that making fun of what people wear and their teeth or lack thereof is very similar to the ignorance behind racism and homophobia. Similar, I said. It’s based on assumptions and there’s zero sensitivity as to why they might not be wearing the latest fashion and can’t really afford proper dental care and the fact that it isn’t very accessible no matter what their desire.

It bothers me to be frivolous with people’s dignity.

  45. Dani says:

I really enjoyed BEA. I don’t think that Bethenny knows how to fit into a loving family as she has never had that type of interaction with her own family. I love Jason and feel that he has supported Bethenny and she needs to support him in visiting his parents. Bryn needs grandparents and the family that Bethenny didn’t have. I am looking forward to the rest of the season. I agree with the statement you either love her or hate her and I am one of those people that love her. I am looking forward to the next show and could not believe that the hour passed so quickly tonight.

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

I love her more then any other (former) Housewive
and i agree she should have interaction with the in laws but Jason is going every other week during his first year of marriage and that is a little extreme
once a month is a great compromise
esp since they have so far to travel

      • kbinldo says:

ITA. I realize the in-laws have a valid reason for wanting to be close to Jason & his family, but expecting to see them every weekend (even if they travel to NYC) & stay at each other’s homes is a bit overwhelming. I know I would feel suffocated. How would you like it if every damn weekend you had to go somewhere or have people in your home you have to entertain? When do you get to relax? Even if they are beloved relatives, after a while, it does get really really old & like Bethenny says, it would get to the point where they go to PA because they “have” to, not because they “want” to. I would think a good compromise would be 1 weekend in NYC & 1 weekend in PA per month.

  46. NMhousewife says:

I am another who enjoyed the show. I am not a rabid Bethanny fan that believes she can do no wrong, but I do like her. Sometimes she makes me cringe with what she says, but overall I find her entertaining. I do get the issue tonight with the grandparents. It reminds me of my early marriage days and being surprised at the closeness of my husband and his family and how it affected our married life. I do think it is a valid concern. Anyway, I enjoyed the episode.

  47. cdnfillie58 says:

BEA..not sure how thats going to sit with me. Honestly I found her quite self centred and a tad narcissistic. She tweeted tonight that she puts it all out there, and to me that’s a tired old excuse for rudeness. Its ok to be upfront but there are times you should keep your opinions to yourself if you know what you have to say will hurt some people, namely her daughter’s grandparents. I really saw someone too self centered tonight to realize that Jason is their only remaining son and that his parents have just as much a right to let her know how they feel about not getting a chance to see their only grandchild often, I felt bad for Jason.
I hope we see Bethenny come to realize theres more than just her in her world now.

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

they are seeing the grandaughter every other weekend now
A new mom has a right to her say in the matter and try to remember Bethenny had a horriable childhood with a dad that abandoned her and a teen mom that didnt really want to be a mom and if im not mistaken she was on her own at a very early age with no family support at all

Shes never known a family life like jasons
and as much as i love him he should have slowly cut the apron strings a long time ago
it isnt good for him or his family
now that all being said i LOVE his mom love her to pieces i would have loved growing up in a house like that but a lot of us didnt and that is why we are the way we are
as for Bethenny seeming self centered i dont see it that way at all

      • Ann says:

I love Bethenny, but she can be a pain. She knows it. She is also playing it up for the cameras. She is and she knows it.

You see glimpses of her life and not who she really is. Sure there is anxiety with a new baby and a ready-made family. It is not like she knew Jason for years.

His family and for that matter he is very different from what she is used to in the past. Some things might seem provincial. I am not saying they are just different. It takes time.

However, her father never abandoned her. That is not true and there are many articles and pictures of her with Bobby Frankel even three years before his death to prove that. Further, her mother was no a teenager when she had Bethenny that is absolutely incorrect. She was an alcoholic. Bethenny’s step-father was a great guy from most every article. Just to clear that up.

    • kbinldo says:

To piggyback on what DJ is saying, as much as I think Jason’s parents are great, they’ve already planned out the holiday schedule. Remember the “Thanksgiving, oh wait, we haven’t gotten through Halloween yet” line?

Uh, what? Don’t Jason & Bethenny get a say in how they spend the holidays?

  48. Sc says:

I believe it’s Eddie “Cibrian” , not “Cipriani”

  49. lillybee says:

I just read one of the latest posts on Jill’s fb. She still considers negative comments against her as bullying. When will she ever learn?

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

then she must also understand what a bully she is herself as she is always ready to drop negativity off on anyone around her
i will never get over her tackiness and viciousness to Alex at that party telling her to leave as if SHE was the hostess and not wanting to hear anything Alex was saying and making light of teh fact that Alex was struggling to make ends meet
she actually laughed in her face

and then later to say at the reunion they were never close friend
oh yeah Jill thats why you kept calling her at Ramonas party to get dirt and to get her to come hang with you and the countess

  50. HD says:

Something that really bothered me last night was first of all…why didn’t Bethanny EVER go home to visit Jason’s family during their engagement? I am not buying that. Bethanny went to that town like she was in the damn Twilight Zone. Do you think everyone lives like they are in New York? What the hell is wrong with you?! I mean really! Uhhhhhhh! That really bothered me! It might do Bethanny well to get out of the big cities sometimes and go venture somewhere in the world and see people that just do common things and drinks ARE five dollars and guess what, that doesn’t make you strange or anything. When I went to NYC I didn’t act like I was in a different country. Damn! It’s quite OBVIOUS people live differently in different parts of the country. Who the hell are you? That just rubbed me all wrong.

Also the “do I have life insurance” line. Okay…you want us to believe you don’t have life insurance? I hope she was throwing that out as a joke. Someone who works a 9-5 slinging hash has enough common sense to have life insurance. You mean you never thought of any of this as a millionaire? EYE ROLLAGE!

Thanks for letting me vent! Had to get that off my chest!

  51. ilovelynn says:

loved BEA, love bethenny, but as a grandmother who never sees 4 of my grandchildren at christmas and thanksgiving because of distance(I have one grandchild locally) I hope bethenny spends part of those holidays with jason’s family.it would be very sad if they went off to st barts or something and didn’t see them at all during those weeks. as for moving to ca., if bethenny and jason won”t be coming back and forth alot to the east coast, they certainly have enough money to bring his parents out for a visit to the west coast. I really do love bethenny, but sometimes the stuff she says is cringe worthy. I’m sure “bon jovi” thinks he looks great with his haircut and before she teared up at the bar she talked about meeting the whole “motley crew”. as one who doesn’t have a filter either, I find myself feeling guiltly and apologizing for things said that I thought was “funny”, let alone saying it in front of millions of viewers.

  52. boston02127 says:

    Good morning.

Is anyone else watching Charlie Sheen on the news. He’s a hot mess.

    • HD says:

I watched him. Sadly, he does not see himself yet. He still has a chance. I pray he truly sees himself for what he has become and gets himself together. Any day is another day to start all over again.

    • Kellita says:

Hot Mess is right! Is on more shows today? The things coming out of his mouth don’t even make any sense. He tested negative for drugs yesterday, but his brain must be really messed up. He’s on a bad downward spiral, sadly. I’m worried about what his rock bottom is going to look like.

  53. Laura says:

There was a little mini marathon of NY Housewives yesterday on BRAVO and it was an adventure watching “Scary Island” all over again….it reconfirms the exact reason for this very blog and thank GOD everyone for Lynn and all her fantastic heart and soul she puts into this (along with everyone else)

    Jill is an idiot.

    Kelly is psychotic.

Bethenny is a breath of fresh air.

I did endure the very first episode of Miami and it was worse than watching the paint-drying boring DC….

Wish I could contribute more….i.e devote enough time to participating every day…

Happy March! Hoping to find the time to sit down and watch Bethenny Ever After sometime soon!

    • Kellita says:

I watched the first episode of Miami, too, since I’d already recorded it. I was not impressed. Just a bunch of insecure women needing validation by telling us how confident and gorgeous they think they are, and hopefully we’ll agree. It was boring boring boring, and I didn’t find any of the characters even likeable. That’s all I’ll say about that.

      Have a great day, everyone!

  54. boston02127 says:

    Have a good day everyone.

  55. quincyil says:

I thought the first episode shared a great deal about Bethenny’s new life. This is Jason’s family and friends. I loved the scenes where they were out and about. Bethenny is honest and you know you are hearing her real thoughts. I loved the show.
