IHJZ Inbox Full Launch Party Cat Ommanney

I Hate Jill Zarin   Real Housewives Of DC Cat Ommanney’s Book Launch  Inbox Full

New York Baby!

As most of you know, I interviewed Cat Ommanney for Reality Buzz a while back and we talked about her new book, InBox Full.  Shortly after the podcast interview with Cat was edited and released, I got an email from Cat inviting me to her book launch.  I was overwhelmed by her kindness and I knew I had to figure out a way to get to that party!

With a lot of help from a very good friend in New York City, I made arrangements and gratefully accepted Cat’s very generous offer.

The private party was held at Ted Gibson’s Salon in New York City and Cat sent me the official invitation just about a week later.  Cat also told me that there would be an after-party planned at a bar close by called Boxers that would be open to the public.  Here is my invitation…

I RSVP’d the same day!

I really wanted to let everyone know that I was going to the party but to be honest, I wasn’t sure if some of the New York Housewives would be attending (ie: Jill Zarin) and if she would have tried to get me uninvited if she had heard I was going to the party.  I read that Jill had a book signing scheduled in New Jersey that evening so I knew she would not be there.

Sorry I missed you Jill, maybe next time I’m in New York we can chat!

My NY benefactor was amazing, she not only let me stay with her while in New York, she arranged for my hair and make up to be done before the party and ordered a Town Car to take us to the event!

We arrived a bit late, about 7:45 but as luck would have it, so did Lynda, Ebong and Cat!  Gibson’s is on the second floor and there was a tiny elevator to take you up to Ted’s Salon.  As we walked into the small hallway we were stopped by security and gave our names to the event organizer, as she checked the guest list, in walked Lynda, Ebong and a few of their friends!

After chatting with Lynda and Ebong on Twitter I felt like I knew them already so I introduced myself.  (as Lynn In Chicago) They were both so wonderful, we all hugged and they introduced me to their friends who all told me that they read the blog, they complimented me on the writing and said they enjoyed reading the blogs.

There were two elevators on the wall but unfortunately only one was working and it was extremely slow considering it was going up only one level but that turned out to be a good thing because as we waited with Lynda and Ebong for the elevator, the guest of honor arrived and the party started right there in the hallway waiting for the elevator!

Cat is so charismatic and her smile is infectious!  She greeted everyone with hugs and air kisses, it was so great to see that Cat and Lynda are genuine friends, it was obvious that both Lynda and Ebong adore Cat!

Cat made her way over to us as we continued to wait for the elevator, Cat commented, “what a great day for just the one lift to be working”.  I told her who I was and more hugs and air kisses all around for me and my friends, Cat said she read about the boycott and agrees that we should get a bit of recognition and she’s our biggest supporter!  She thinks we need a bit more love from Bravo.  Cat assured me she would be introducing me to Andy Cohen.

Cat, tall and thin looked amazing in a animal print dress with her hair coiffed to within an inch of its life.  So beautiful!

The elevator opens directly into the Salon and the minute the doors slid open the flash bulbs started popping non stop.  Cat had arrived!

The Salon had been transformed from a place where people are made beautiful to a place where the beautiful people were celebrating.  Everyone was there to support Cat Ommanney’s book “Inbox Full”.

The step and repeat was set up just to the right as  you exited the elevators, Cat was immediately escorted over to the step and repeat and after several photos she began the endless interviews as her guests mingled, drank champaign and enjoyed the party.

Ebong made his way over to the bar to get Lynda some Champaign and while he was away, I was able to get a photo with Lynda.  She had already done her duty at the step and repeat.

Lynda couldn’t have been more gracious, she is so petite but really a huge personality with a smile that shines from across the room.  She talked with us for quite a while and when Ebong returned, she blazed up a dubie and we all got stoned.  (Just Kidding!)

This is Ebong and I along with a new friend I met that night, Her name is Dr. Rosetta and she’s a New York plastic Surgeon with an impressive client list. I think she’d fly to Chicago and kick my butt if I listed her clients, but the list is long and impressive A-list celebrities.

A celebrity in her own right, Dr. Rosetta is the coolest, hippest doctor I’ve ever met. I was lucky enough to be able to speak with her extensively after the party and learned that she’s a closet Housewives fan. We laughed all night long! She’s a fascinating woman!

Before I left for New York, I sent a DM to Rich Amons hoping that he would be attending Cat’s party. I interviewed Rich for Reality Buzz and he was so open and fun to talk to. The show’s producer worked hard editing that interview because it actually went on for about 90-minutes and had to be cut down to 45-minutes. Rich is so easy to talk to and he even asked me a few questions. Unfortunately he said he was on baby-sitting duty but Mary would be there supporting Cat for the Amons clan.

I ran into Mary near the bar, she is really easy to spot as she’s really tall and could easily be a model Mary is stunningly beautiful and so sweet we talked about my interview with Rich, she laughed and asked if he behaved himself during the interview.

After spending a few minutes with Mary we met Cat’s father, a nicer man you will not meet. When I introduced myself as just “Lynn”, he asked if I was the “Lynn from Chicago” and he said that Cat had told him all about me. He thanked me for supporting his daughter and his British accent was adorable. He saw the camera in my hand and asked if I had gotten a photo taken with Cat yet, I told him I hadn’t yet so he offered his arm and escorted me over to his daughter and insisted we take a photo at the step and repeat.

This father daughter duo are madly in love and it is so adorable!

As we took the photos just a few yards away someone stepped off the elevator that created a ruckus at the entrance, lots of flashes from cameras and even a few “whoop whoops” were heard as the buzz at the elevator grow louder and begin coming right toward us. Andy Cohen was being escorted directly toward us to the step and repeat to have his photo taken. It was a bit surreal to be honest.

In a skin-tight black turtleneck and jeans, Andy is exactly as he appears on television.  He arrived alone but didn’t stay that way for long.  He was immediately surrounded with people wanting to greet him.

We all cleared off the step and repeat area so that Andy could take center stage and then the flashes really started popping.

The crowd really started to gather as Cat joined Andy for a photo, then all of the DC Housewives were rounded up to have photos taken together with Andy.

When Andy was finally released from the photo area, he walked right toward me and my friend and so we introduced ourselves.   My friend told him that I was the “blogger” and Andy said, “You’re the one who writes the ‘I Hate Jill Zarin’ Blog.”  I was fully prepared to defend myself but he then chuckled and I knew that I wasn’t going to have to defend anything.  My friend assured Andy that I write about all of the Bravo shows and he said, “oh, I know”.

Smiling throughout our brief talk, without needing any prompting he brought up my email and the open letter.

He said, “I saw your email about the blogs, I answered you!”  When I protested, he said, “Wasn’t there something too with a Cranky Old Housewife or something”  I told him, “Yes, Real Old Housewife but as far as I know, she didn’t get an answer from you”.  He insisted that he responded to us because he remembered something about including a “Cranky Old Housewife”.

I don’t know what he was talking about with the “cranky” thing but unfortunately before I could say another word, the Salon owner, Ted Gibson tapped Andy on the shoulder and asked him to meet some of his friends.  Unfortunately that was the last chance I had to speak to Andy Cohen.  I’m not finished with him just yet!  lol

Cat was introduced by a friend and DC DJ who thanked everyone for coming, thanked Ted Gibson’s Salon and reminded everyone to support not only Cat and her book but the charities she supports, “New Yorkers for Marriage Equality” and “Human Rights Campaign”.

Then he introduced Cat who also thanked us all for coming and told the lovely story of her father trying to get through immigration in New York after flying out of London using his photograph of himself with President Barak Obama. You may remember that Cat was banned from the White House Christmas Party and Cat’s father went in her place.

Cat personally thanked her cast mates, Lynda and Mary for supporting her and of course introduced Andy Cohen to the crowd. Cat said that she knew Andy wouldn’t be staying long as he had dinner plans but she appreciated him putting in an appearance. And then he was gone.

Cat also noted in her speech that Staci was supposed to be there, she apparently said she was coming but hadn’t made an appearance yet, Cat announced, “I am not a fan” after being stood up by Staci.

After Cat’s speech, I was able to get near Paul Wharton who had been surrounded by a crowd all evening.  I can certainly see why all the DC Housewives love Paul to much, he is so kind and generous with his time.  He was focused on whoever he was speaking with and while so many were vying for his time, he gave me his undivided attention as I talked to him about how great it was that he was featured on the show, and how lucky the ladies were to have such a great friend.

As the party started winding down and people began collecting their coats, Staci did make an appearance. With literally just a few minutes left of the party she arrived without her husband Jason and quickly greeted her cast mates and friends who were left at the party. As she came over to where Paul Wharton and I were talking, I introduced myself and asked her how Jason was, we took a photo together and she was off again.

It was difficult getting Staci to stand still for more than a few seconds, as Dr. Rosetta attempted to get a photo taken with Staci and Paul Wharton after I did Staci kept wandering off in every direction trying to say hello to people before they left the party.   Staci wasn’t gracious to the fans at all, it seemed as though we were an annoyance and even Paul rolled his eyes a bit.

The salon owner, Ted Gibson was the best surprise of the night.  This man walked up to every single guest at the party, introduced himself, thanked them for coming and made everyone feel so welcome.  With a constant smile on his face, he never missed talking to everyone in the salon.  A nicer man you won’t find anywhere!

I actually got a bigger surprise as I made my way through the crowd I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned to find Alex McCord standing there next to her husband, Simon!  I had heard that Alex would be there and I caught glimpses of her and Simon across the room but didn’t get a chance to speak to them as they were surrounded by people wanting to talk to them all night.

I didn’t take this photo (obviously) but this is Alex and Simon at the party.

Alex McCord & Simon VanKempen

Alex told me that filming was really exhausting, they started in September and they truly had only just finished filming a few weeks ago.  Alex said she was surprised when Bravo announced that The Real Housewives of New York would begin to air in February as they hadn’t even completed the talking head interviews and she was equally surprised when they postponed the series debut.  She explained that with so little time they wouldn’t be able to get proper previews prepared and time to view and blog on episodes as they were just airing too fast.  She added that the whole cast was relieved at the delay in the air date.

Alex looked great, she was glowing as always and her black outfit with her blonde hair suited her so well.

I got a chance to talk to Simon as well, he said the kids are doing well and we talked a bit about blogging as that is an area where Simon is so very talented.

The book launch was so much fun!  It was a great party and I was so lucky to meet some amazing people.  Yes, they are cast members of a Bravo television show but they’re so much more than that!  Cat couldn’t have been more gracious and kind.  She supports all of us “Hobby Bloggers” and even as she hosted dozens of guests, she took the time to write this really sweet entry when I asked her to sign my copy of her book “Inbox Full”:

Cat Autographed my book!

I highly recommend getting a copy of this book for yourself!

    • LynnNChicago says:

aw thanks hon! xoxo Sorry it took so long to post! I was enjoying NYC 🙂

      • Sha2000 says:

Long? No, you were out of town. We were just all chomping at the bit excited to hear about your evening. Thank you for sharing & posting asap. Btw, I knew all along Andy seemed like a nice guy & sure enough that genuineness that comes across on camera has been confirmed by you. I’m thinking perhaps he asked an assistant to contact you & ROH & it never got done…maybe you should email him (his email is on his blog but I bet you knew that) and say what a pleasure it was meeting him & thank him for stopping to say hello? Bet he will reply. If you do please tell him we love WWHL, he makes it so fun!

Anyway Lynn, thanks for sharing & I’m glad you got to go; a payment of sorts for all the hard work (I know what it takes in maintenance daily, we have quite a big site for the business we run), plus expense on the site. Very happy also that this site is read by some of the very personalities we talk about here. Thanks too to Cat for inviting you so you could share with us…

        Have a great day,
        Susan

What a cool thing, to be invited to hang with the RH’s and Andy! Thanks for sharing, and adding the pictures! Love the Big Smile, you must have been FEELING the LOVE, that night!!! IMO, you deserve some Recognition for all you do, after all the show is made more entertaining by your Blog!!! Not surprised that the RH’s read your blog, and enjoy it!!! Glad to see Andy reads your blog,….just like all of “lynnn’s fam” do, and Love it!! I’m sure he heard about it from Mrs Fabric, but thats ok….if I was her, I’d be calling the employer too……oh darn, FREEDOM OF SPEECH……Blogging about Entertainment is what balances out the Reality Show “Stars”. Without IHJZ, I can’t imagine the Out of Control Universe we would all be spinning in, by now!!! Keepin’ it real!!! Kudo’s to you Lynnn, and I hope you keep getting the invitations to travel and meet Any and All the Franchises soon! Can’t wait to live vicariously through you, again! Karrylin

  3. lillybee says:

I am so glad that you had a good time and that the HW’s seemed to respect you.

  4. Adgirl says:

Wow, Lynn! I had to re-read your blog more carefully a 2nd time. What a blast. I felt just like I was there myself.

    Kadooz!!

  5. DJ Fruit Loops says:

oh Lynn that sounds so exciting
Im so happy you got to do this and even happier that you got to reconnect with Alex & Simon
it was also cool That now you know that Andy knows of you but is so very busy that he thinks he replied to you
is he as short as people say ? or is his personality so much larger then life that he seems taller
how about the after party ?
you were right the weather did get better here thankfully this hadnt happened a few weeks ago when we still had snow
ps your friend that lives here sounds like a living doll
    hugs
    Philip

    • HD says:

I thought I read that Andy “insisted” he replied not that he “thought” he replied. There is a huge difference to me. Shade alert.

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

        LOL
im pretty sure if Andy was throwing shade that Lynn would have said so
he looks like he was warm and friendly in his brief meeting with her and told her he read her blog

        • HD says:

I don’t think Andy was throwing any shade. I think you were with by saying Andy thinks he replied to Lynn.

That is not what he said. Lynn clearly said, “He said, “I saw your email about the blogs, I answered you!” When I protested, he said, “Wasn’t there something too with a Cranky Old Housewife or something” I told him, “Yes, Real Old Housewife but as far as I know, she didn’t get an answer from you”. He insisted that he responded to us because he remembered something about including a “Cranky Old Housewife”.”

No where did she say anything about him being so busy that he thought he responded to her. She said he insisted that he did.

          • quincyil says:

He is a busy guy planning all of those trips with his unpaid interns. Maybe, the intern forgot to hit send.

            • Nancy says:

Please don’t hate me but it sounds like Andy was blowing Lynn off. I have NO DOUBT that Lynn’s site is talked about a lot at Bravo so Andy would have remembered if he e-mailed Lynn or not.
Now I really have little or no respect for that man. This has nothing to do with Lynn, this has everything to do with Bravo. That said… I’m soo glad you had a great time. I only wished that I could have been there with you. Love all the pictures. I was sorry to hear about Stacie. She did seem a little cold to me when I saw her at the reunion of DC Housewives. I’m happy for Cat. I liked her from the very beginning. My family is from England so I “got her” right away. Do you know about her daughters? Does she see them often? Is she going to stay in the states? Did Shrill come up in any conversation? She must have been insane with anger when she found out that you were going to be there. She’ll be in a free fall this coming week because of it. (Good work Lynn) I’m sure you’ve seen her latest interview when she (once again) threw Bethenny under the bus. She really is pathetic.
Welcome back, we missed you and thank-you so much for the blog.
I can go back to sleep now.

              • Sha2000 says:

I don’t think so Nancy…he brought the subject up, why do it then?

                • Nancy says:

IF Andy really did send Lynn a reply why would he have to tell her that right up front? (Unless he was being defensive?)

                  • Sha2000 says:

                    Good question…

                  • HD says:

I think he said that upfront because he mentioned the boycott and in the letter it was saying they wanted some acknowledgement. The two statements go hand in hand. 1. He is addressing that he read the email about the boycott and 2. Contrary to what the email said from the bloggers he did respond to them.

  6. colibrimoon says:

The whole event sounded so enchanting! Oh, I’m so glad you were rubbing elbows with those ladies. Congratulations Lynn!

  7. California35 says:

I’m so glad I checked one more time before I go to sleep. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. You covered a lot and meet a lot of people.

You look GREAT and HAPPY 🙂

Andy answered someone some time ago….there was a letter you shared on your blog, but it was a while back and it wasn’t to you. I wonder if that is the letter he is referring to.

Is the book out now? I will search in Amazon tomorrow.

I will come back tomorrow, of course, to re-read your post and anything else.

    Have a good night/morning.

  8. MSU Chicago says:

How nice of Cat to invite you to her launch party, and what a great friend that you have in NY who took care of you! You look so happy in the photos, and it is awesome that you got to finally meet some of the people that you blog about and to reconnect with Alex and Simon. I love hearing Alex’s side about the RHNY delay. Hopefully you got some scoop about the season, even if you cannot share it with the masses. Staci should take notes from Cat, Mary, Lynda, Ebong, Paul (love Paul!), Alex and Simon. Hopefully one day you will be able to meet Rich face to face.

I love that Andy knows who you are, but maybe his assistant should brief him a bit more about who “he” replies to.

    Cat’s father is so cute!

I read on TMZ the other day that Tareq is going to be on the next season of Celebrity Rehab. He and Michaele must really need the money!

Congrats on the amazing time you had at the party.

  9. Mimisfbay says:

I am so glad that I checked one more time and found this blog! Lynn, so happy you were able to make the party and have such a great time. Congrats! Thanks for sharing this experience with all of us…you are the best.

Eegads, I will need to read this again in the morning. Oh, wait, it is morning. Thanks again.

    • quincyil says:

I am so happy that Lynn had this opportunity. I’m sure she will remember this night for the rest of her life.

Cat’s new life must be agreeing with her, she looks really great.
No mention from anyone of the Salahis though?

Thanks for sharing all the details and your impressions with us, Lynn. Glad you had a good time!

    Claude’s (dina manzo’s) tweet:

My Birthday is Monday, can you all give me the best gift ever? http://wishes.causes.com/wishes/241543

Dina Manzo, Maybe you should have put 3K aside from the cloths closet that you just added on (and constantly bragged about) in your home. You know the closet with the freaking chandelier in it. You must really think you’re something special to ask twitter fans for thousands of dollars for you birthday. Give me a break, it’s 6 AM on Sunday morning and I’m going to go get ready to work a ten hour day so I can eat, pay for school, rent & gas. Kiss my ass Dina.

    • Amber...RealWife says:

ITA! She could make that donation with her eyes closed. Or just ask Carolinebacker and crew and boom DONE! I notice for someone who wanted to get away from the show, she sure claims it! Dina RHONJ huh? No hooker, you are just DinaDowner from Patterson oops FranklinLakes, NJ. God Bless those that donated, but it would have made sense if she had donated to the cause as well, but then it is for her own charity, so… oh fuggedaboutit! You already know!

Tonight The Celebrity Apprentice starts at 9:00 and ends at 11.
Also, The Real Housewives of Orange County starts at 10.

There are other changes this week. “Million Dollar Listing” is moving to 8PM Central on Tues from the 8PM Thurs time slot. OC will be at 9PM Central this Thurs.

I think that Bravo is worried about the ratings of Miami and they will use the popular MDL to lead into their new show.

      • Bobbi says:

These people are going to give my Tivo fits! Stop changing the schedule for goodness sake!

        • HD says:

They are moving OC after tonight to Thursday? Is this because of the Apprentice you think?

          (OC does come on tonight,right?)

    • Sha2000 says:

      !!!! OC !!!!

I’m gonna treat myself to some candy (insert your gummie bear joke here) & a cocktail tonight, maybe fire-up the media room (I normally watch in bed, my husband has it so wired upstairs-if it requires more than pushing one button I have no interest) invite my next door neighbor (she only watches NJ) & make her an OC fan. Love OC, so glad ATL is finished!!!

  15. Bobbi says:

What a great write-up, Lynn! Thank you for all the details. So glad you had the opportunity to attend.

Somehow, I’m not at all surprised by Staci’s attitude. Never was as enthralled with her as others were.

It is a good thing Andy has a face to put to the name now too!

  16. Bea from NJ (@sweeetbea on Twitter) says:

I so enjoyed reading about your experience and absolutely love, love that Bravo, Andy & the Housewives know who you are and real your blog! Hehehehe, and Andy knows Real Old Housewife too! Thank you for sharing with us, keep up the great work & I hope Andy Cohen’s response to the Hobby Bloggers finally shows up! ;-D

  17. VAgirl says:

Thanks for sharing your adventure with us, Lynn. Hopefully, there will be more exciting times to come for you. You definitely deserve it!

  18. Amber...RealWife says:

    Congratulations Lynn!

It’s great knowing you had a fan-tastic weekend hobnobbing with reality stars and friends. That’s awesome! NYC is a great place to live and visit, especially midtown and upper east side. I hope your friends are doing well, and enjoyed visiting with you too.

It must be a feather in your cap, as you know that Andy is indeed aware of you. That’s big, or like Danielle would say… HUGE! LOL It’s great you reconnected with Silex and met folks you saw on tv and had been communicating with on twitter in person! You were busy indeed.

As you know, I’m not a fan of Cat’s, but it is great that she treated you so kindly. It was a BIG get for blogger rights to get her on your side! Also her dad sounded adorable, so I guess she can’t be all bad! LOL Nope, she is! LMAO

Great to have you back from your adventure with the DC crew and friends in NYC, and hope you continue to give us more information as you remember it. You go girl! 🙂

  19. FlowerPower (no longer StillaWallflower) says:

I’m so happy for you, Lynn!!! What a fantastic night. Love all the pics. May your NY fairy godmother receive many blessings in return for her kindness.

I love when stuff like this happens to *real* people. 🙂

  20. HD says:

Lynn, Lynn, Lynn! Girl you better work it!! I am so happy for you!! How nice that was of Cat for the invite and the friend to hook you up with the hair, towncar, etc! It is good to know good people!

Let’s talk about Andy! BAM! Girl don’t you feel so justified. I feel like doing a neck roll in a few faces for you! Yes! He knows you, he knows that blog, he knew about the boycott! I wonder what happened to the reply?!!! Well at least we know that he knows you and I am thinking you have just went up a notch in the Bravolebrity book and you will be getting a few perks!

Stacie-If you didn’t want to go, don’t go. I hate when people come to stuff and water down the atmosphere with their bad attitude.

I am beyond happy for you! This could not have happened to a better person!

    • Sha2000 says:

HD you are so funny! Love when you say “bam” & head-roll now, lol you are a crazy lady combined with smarts & it’s great!

    Hi Lynn,

I enjoyed reading your NYC visit as well as your fascinating time with Cat and the other celebrities from Bravo! I am glad that you have a copy of Cat’s book!!! I’m sure you will enjoy it;the book was amazing, and it was difficult to stop reading as it was full of drama, insights and juicy details!

I am also happy that you recieved some recognition by bravo and some of its stars as well.

    Have a great day everyone!!

    Secrets of a Jewish Mother

I am currently reading it, and I really love it! I feel like I am getting to know Jill, Lisa and Gloria. In my opinion, I feel that people ought to give it a chance. There is so much useful advice and sometimes the advice is given in three different perspectives.
The book is not a ‘fad’ book because of the association to the Real Housewives. It is a book that will be usueful for many years to come; there is so much advice that the book overflows with love from the authors. I may post a more indepth review with an analysis to follow it.

    Books to read:
Cat’s Book: Inbox Full- not a fad book either- worthy of praise without Bravo
Secrets of a Jewish Mother- Excellent

Those are the only two books; I haven’t ready any other books by Bravo people.

It’s a discussion group that Jill’s dog is starting. It might be fun for you to share your opinions there too.

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

Okay. I’ll try my best to finish reading it. I have only read the chapters that interested me first. How about it gets posted during the RHONY season? Just so that it recieves more attention.

            • Sha2000 says:

              Hi Vincenzo,
I think that’s very nice that you posted your real feelings regarding the book & had such kind things to say about JZ. I honestly don’t follow the Jill story so I don’t really know (other than the Amazon-gate & “twitter-wars”) why people get so passionate about being on one side or another about her. You are a stand-up guy, for speaking honestly. I have a Jewish step-mom, so I know those secrets already and at least 20 books waiting on me, so I hope to read your review too.

I love it that this community is open to the thoughts of everyone.

                • VincenzoNewYork says:

                  Thank you Sha and Q.

I think people need to basis their opinions on the book, rather than opinions expressed on Amazon.com.

The book has some really good advice, flowing with pearls of wisdom.

                  • HD says:

I based my opinion of her book on her actions on the show. Not the Amazon reviews. I just could not see taking any advice from someone that quite frankly doesn’t really follow it herself. However, even if Jill hung the moon I would not buy any of her (or any housewive) products. The only product I have thought about buy was B’s drink (they don’t sale it here). Having said that, you are an individual and as an individual you like who you like. If you got something out of the book that is good for you. I like your contributions to the board, very well written and thoughtful so this I will not hold against you. JUST KIDDING! More power to you, V!

                  • Damnert says:

Actions speak louder than words. As far as *Pearls of Wisdom* goes where Jill Zarin is concerned, she might try wearing that pearl necklace before she tries to sell that necklace to others.

                • Sha2000 says:

                  Me too Q.

        • Rabble Rouser says:

          Did she apologize to you?

Did it dawn on her, that her guilt by association tactic only serves to further alienate her from viewers and (potential) fans.

I don’t agree with you about Jill, I don’t know much about Lisa, I think the mother reminds me of Lena Helmsey (and that’s not a good thing) but I ADORE you.

    • Nancy says:

Go back to sleep Jill. NO ONE wants to hear from you!!

      • klmh says:

        Is that necessary?

      • Kansas Girl says:

Nancy, Vincenzo is not Jill. He believes that everyone deserves equal respect, and that people are what we expect them to be. He’s trying his hardest to find admirable qualities in Jill, with the expectation of good and admirable behavior. I’ve got to admire him for this, as it’s hard to consistently hold good thoughts in the best of situations. Go, Vinny, go.

        • Nancy says:

Jill doesn’t have any admirable qualities.

        • VincenzoNewYork says:

          I am not Jill Zarin!!!
I use a real picture of me, with a real name too!

@HD: Ty, also, some of this advice contradicts some of my beliefs. However, in the book, they do offer advice to make your own opinions and challenge the staus quo, which are the qualities of an educated person. This is implicitly stated in the chapter on education; it is my favorite chapter so far.

I totally understand if you based your opinion on the book based on her actions.

I wont buy Bethenny’s products because she is using her fame to sell products. I feel that she is obsessed with weight loss and remaining thin. I do not feel that she is qualified to sell diet books; she does not have a background background in neither nutrion nor biology. I also thought her Yoga DVD was another scheme to make money off of people. I know that she hired a yoga instructor to teach teach the actual asana sequence(posture sequence), and she followed along; however, I feel it was an attempt to make more money of people, especially since there are more reputable and well known instructors with a pleathora of DVDs. Would the DVD have recieved any attention if it was sold and marketed by the actual instructor? I do not think so. Her DVD was more of a spend time with Bethenny in your living room type.

I also think once the BEA season is over; Bethenny’s approval rating may change.

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

I wish Bethenny all the happiness and success that the world has to offer her. She does work hard to advertise herself. I just don’t think her prodcuts offer anything to me.
However, if people adore her, then that’s wonderful! I sincerely mean that.
I used to Love Bethenny too, but I am team Jill. What can I say.

            • Powell says:

I understand what you are saying about Jill and I’m sure that I could learn a thing or two from her, but what I don’t like is her constantly keeping score with people. She has the attitude that people constantly “owe her” when she helps them out and how she has to have “her notes” to have an uncomfortable conversation with someone. I also don’t like how she is fake/phony with her castmates. She and Alex had their differenceces throughout last season, then she would be friendly with Alex, but at the reunion she tells Alex they were never friends. When she was mad with Bethenny saying Bethenny wasn’t there for her when Bobbie was ill, however Jill never told Bethenny the extent of his illness. Then when Bethenny wanted to talk and fix their relationship Jill wasn’t ready but then expected Bethenny to talk on Jill’s terms when Jill was ready to talk. Jill only did that once she realized it was definite that Bethenny was getting her show because Jill wanted to be on the show like Alex and Ramona had been. Jill doesn’t do something if it doesn’t benefit her.

          • floridagirl88 says:

Well now I kinda liked the Bethanny yoga video, especially when I saw that she had a limited range of movement, too. For anyone with Comcast, you can currently find Body by Bethenny On Demand under the Sports/Exercise folder (which means FREE to Comcast subscribers). The instructor is very good. The only down side is Bethenny not willing to stop talking constantly. The upside is that it is a good workout. I suppose I could always mute it….

          • Nancy says:

            VincenzoNewYork,
I never said you were Jill Zarin. I just want to know how much she is paying you to write this %#$@?! I’m a little short on cash this month myself so how about putting in a good word for me so I can join “Jill’s Trolls” and make myself some money too?

            • VincenzoNewYork says:

@Nancy. Every time I write a postive comment; I earn $2,000.00. I make a pretty good living. lol
              JKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

She does not pay me; I am still her fan.

              • Nancy says:

When Jill does something good I’ll be the first to write a positive blog. No money necessary.

            • Rabble Rouser says:

Vinny has been here for a while and was always upfront about being her fan- and hurt by the fact she blocked him on twitter just for following Lynn.

As charming, kind and adorable and eloquent as he is, there is nothing he could say to sway me on my opinion of JZ.

But he bring so much more to the discussions and I am so happy to have him here.

          • Rabble Rouser says:

I am not sure if I am following your logic about not buying Bethanny’s products because she is using her fame to hawk them. That can be said about any of them, including Jill Zarin.

I haven’t bought a product from any housewife- and I probably never will-other than maybe eating at Villa Blanca (but that existed before the show) but I wouldn’t go out of my way to Beverly Hills just to eat there.

I find all the shilling they do very off putting to extremely annoying.

            • Powell says:

I don’t have a problem with the housewives talking about and selling their products. I have been on Ramona’s website and have seen her Jewelry also on HSN and they are pretty nice pieces. I’ve been on Lynn’s website and looked at her cuffs. I’ve been on Gretchen’s website and looked at her makeup. I’ve looked for Bethenny’s Skinny Girl and plan on trying it. All of these products are like so many celeb products. Some I would like to try, some I will definitely not. They all seem to want to sell some product and they have to do it when they are relative, current. They have to use their 15 minutes while the timing is right.

    • klmh says:

Vincenzo, just ignore some of us old salty farts. Its great to hear differing opinions here, and I don’t have an issue with JZ either, most of the time. I enjoy your posts and please consider, we show a lot of ourselves by our comments and criticisms. It’s who we are and I hope to read more of your positive approach on things here, in the Land of Lynn.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

Thanks KLMH. I agree that we show alot of ourselves by our comments and criticisms. We are what we think and what we do.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

          Vincenzo- my darling.

I am VEHEMENTLY opposed to anything Jill Zarin says or could even think of to write. Like HD, I am shocked and appalled at her behavior on the show, and IMHO there is no way to separate it from her writing.

I have been sucked in by Jill’s mea culpa’s before. Anytime I am willing to give her another chance-she says or does something that pisses me off all over again. So I’m all set with Jill Zarin. Not a fan of hers.

HOWEVER, I am a fan of YOURS! I am standing, cheering, and applauding wildly for YOU.

It takes a lot of chutzpah to come to a blog named I Hate Jill Zarin and “see” such positive qualities in Jill. I also like how you treat everyone her with courtesy and respect- no matter how much they may disagree with you.

          Mazel Tov!

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

            aww ty OMIB.

I think that with me, I usually don’t attack people for writing a negative comment of Jill. I have seen plenty of nasty things written about her, but I just don’t think it’s neccessary to antagonize another commentator. I see no reason to argue with somone if they really don’t like her;I can’t persuade people to like her. We just also react differently to her.

          • @OMIB, you are the real deal.
You must be one hell of a great
            person. I like you! 🙂

          • Sparkles says:

I agree with OMIB. Vincenzo, you appear to be a free thinker and a nice person. The world can always use more of those.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

I think you are much kinder than Jill Zarin deserves.

      • HD says:

@ V- I am assuming you mean Bethanny is using her fame to promote damn near everything. I have no problem with people using their fame to promote stuff, that is the nature of the beast but I will admit that Bethanny is doing a lot of promoting, Skinny books, A Place of Yes, Skinny Girl Margarita, Yoga DVD’s, yoga pants, lingerie line, the list goes on and on and I do think that is a bit much. There is a thing called oversaturating the market. I also agree that BEA will certainly affect her fame.

I enjoy a spirit now and again so that is why I would have bought her drink. I want the pleasure of drinking without it affecting my waistline. A girl can dream. 🙂 Sigh…

At any rate, if you like Jill and are “Team Jill now so be it. I am always one for people speaking up on how they feel and doing it freely! Now as for me and my house…childddddddddd…Jill can go on somewhere. 🙂

    • twoile says:

      @V ur funny too;0)

  23. HD says:

Hey Lynn you know I am the queen of questions. Sorry.

What were they drinking? Did you have any cocktails?

Were hors d’oeuvres served? What kind?

Did you go to the after party? How was that?

How do you think this was affect your blog?

    • BlueSky_Forever says:

HD, I think next time you really have to be there!!! Lol, it would be fun.

      • HD says:

LOL! I know, right?! With all the questions I have I should have just pulled a Salihi and crashed. “What? I did have a ticket. I left it in my bra at home. Lynn! Lynn! You know me! This is HD!Don’t turn away. Ebong! Cat? Anybody? Bueller…”

    • Katie (aka kats2) says:

These are great questions I didn’t even think of asking yet because I’m still in awe of Lynn being at the event. Now that I’m over that Lynn is a rock star I have more to add to the list –

Who wore way too much makeup?

Who didn’t eat or maybe didn’t keep the hors d’oeuvres HD asked about?

Did anyone drink too much or seemed you know on a little something, something?

Did you book any other interviews while you were there?

      • Sha2000 says:

Hi Katie, long time no “see” 🙂 hope you are well. Yes HD has great questions & so were yours, here’s mine:

Who was the best dressed & what did they wear?

Did Mary say when her jewelry line will launch?
( It’s the only HW product that interests me)

Is Ebong as tall as he looks? Are you tall too Lynn because you look like you maybe in those photo’s?

        • Katie (aka kats2) says:

Hi Sha2000 all is well (just busy with work) how are you?

        • LynnNChicago says:

Sha.. They all looked amazeballs! lol I didn’t know that Mary was launching a jewelry line so I didn’t ask her that. Ebong is tall ..wow tall but I had 6″ heels on otherwise I’m only 5’4″ 🙂

  24. BlueSky_Forever says:

Congratulations Lynn, this really made my day!!! I’m kinda starting to like Cat, she has shown a lotta love for you & the fans. Did you like NYC? See any Broadway shows? So much to do, so little time, you know you will be back to the glittery lights of NYC soon. When you do return, how about hosting a reception for your blog fans from the NY/NJ/CT etc. area – the whole dang eastern seaboard might have people interested in going. Maybe meet some of the stars too? You could charge $ for the reception. Raise $ for charity to boot….what ever you want.

Could the cranky old housewife be @CrankyOldBroad or the 1st guess is @RealOldHousewife. I follow them & I think both have tweeted Andy about your RHMIA ban. Really Andy, you respond in a tweet? (haven’t seen it yet). No email response??? Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Andy did email RealOldHousewife, and his email ended up in her spam file. LOL! Andy can’t one of your assistants resend that reply to LynnAHudson@yahoo.com? We are waiting…you know Bravo would have zippo nada big fat no $$$ without the FANS and the BLOGGERS like Lynn! So about time you show some love back.

  25. Katie (aka kats2) says:

    Lynn,
As you know from my tweets I am so happy for you and I’m so excited about this blog.

You looked stunning and fit right in with all the housewives. You meeting Andy really freaked me out! I’m sorry you didn’t have more time with him, but very happy he knew who you were and all you do for the HW’s franchise.

Tell your NYC friend who hooked you up that she did a great job, I hope she also enjoyed the event. What a kind person to hook you up the way she did. Tell her I said thank you!

I really hope you get to do a lot more of these events. I never really cared for the DC HW’s but you meeting them and writing about how they treated you made them more interesting to me and now I hope they do come back.

Bravo creates a gap that you fill with your blogs and attending events like this to give these reality “characters” some life off the show (there are things we just don’t get to see). The fact that you blog and attend events like this and share your thoughts and experiences with us, you make it even more real for me. And while you changed my mind on Cat and other DC HW’s (there are still a couple I don’t like or are working my last nerve) but your first hand experiences and you writing about them makes me want to hear more and who knows might even change my mind. IMHO if your a Bravo HW’s you should make it a point to do an interview with you, but you better be nice to LynnNChicago.

Congrats, so happy you had a great time and had a successful trip to NYC!!!

  26. quincyil says:

I can’t imagine Andy’s feelings when he met Lynn. I know he said that he had heard about her, but I wish she had had more time to talk to him.

I also can’t imagine living in the constant whirlwind that the Bravo stars live in. I like peace and quiet. Never having an evening without an event would kill me.

    • HD says:

I wish she had a little more time too.

I honestly think these Bravo “stars” enjoy going to these events because most of them seem to enjoy being seen. I would not like it because I don’t like a lot of attention. I would much rather fade into a wall somewhere.

      • quincyil says:

I like quiet dinners with good conversations.

When I was in NYC a few summers ago, I felt every thing was faster. I did sleep though. LOL

        • HD says:

I went to NYC to perfrom on the Apollo. Yes, I am that famous. JUST KIDDING! I did perfrom at the Apollo but I am hardly famous. LOL!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, NYC. I loved the speed of everything, I loved that things were open late, I loved the city, I just loved the energy. However I don’t think it would be a good fit for me.

When I went to Vegas, I stayed a week and about that 4th day I thought I gotta get the hell outta here! Now that city TRULY never sleeps nor did I. I gambled, I drink, I went to strip shows…oh yeah…what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…oh well…LOL!

          • quincyil says:

If you go to Chicago, I can come up for the weekend. I would love to see you perform.

I have a friend from the Farscape board who is a famous science fiction author. He writes beautifully too. He sends me his drafts to read for input. He also contributed to Stargate Universe plots with background input.

It’s amazing who is online. Famous people who perform at the Apollo just happen to be at web sites that I visit.

            • Sha2000 says:

HD, tell us more! Do you sing, preform an instrument? You must be good! I haven’t been to the Apollo (just walked by about a thousand times, I’m from NY) but I’ve been to Carnegie Hall & at the Cotton Club years ago for my friends birthday party, being at both were a thrill even for a native New Yorker…I got to go on stage with about 30 people at a U2 concert in 09’…it was totally surreal especially since I LOVE Bono & the Edge. I can only imagine that being on stage PREFORMING at the Apollo was like a dream come true. Good for you girl!!!!!!

              • HD says:

Hey Sha2000- Here is a link of me performing (not at the Apollo). I am a spoken word artist.

                • HD says:

Oh shoot. I thought that link was just going to post. My bad!!! I didn’t mean to have that all up on the page. I feel like a damn fool! Quincy can you just make the link show up! For the love of God. I feel like I am promoting myself or something and I am soooooooooo not like that. Please Quincy fix that!

                  • Sha2000 says:

                    OMG!!!!

                    HD,

                    • HD says:

Thank you, Sha! I love to perform! I certainly did not mean for the video to be on the board. Now that you have seen it maybe Quincy can go behind the board and remove it. (Thanks, Q) I feel goofy. LOL!

                    • Sha2000 says:

                      Feel proud not goofy!

Have to tell something very hard I am doing. Going off pain killers that have been getting me through the nights I volunteer at club. Have to call today to quit that too.
Am going to have bad withdrawal for a couple of weeks & could use any encouragement you have. Thanks again for the kinds words about Auntie Margaret. Will not be going to funeral. I have got to detox now. I have been in contact with a medhelp program online that has been giving me great advice. It’s going to be hard to tell them I cannot help anymore at club. Between the ciggy smoke & I have chronic bronchitis as well and the arthritis pain it is very bad today. The pain killers no longer help & I have been taking them about 2 yrs so any advice will be welcome.
    I love you all.
    Patty

    • HD says:

You seem to have a lot going on all at the same time which can be very hard to deal with. I pray that your detox goes well. Any time the body goes through transition it can be difficult in the beginning but just know that this too shall pass and your body will be thanking you so much later.

From what I have heard in dealing with detox is to eat well, sleep well and drink a ton of water to flush your system. Just know your body WILL go through transitions as it is trying to rid itself of toxins and often this is a time people go back to what they are trying to detox from. Just get over that hurdle and take good care of yourself.

Thank you so much HD~your kind words help so much. I am in constant contact again with medhelp & that’s what they said too.

        • Sha2000 says:

Patty, you can do it! As I said before your strength, smarts & goodness comes across here…it will be tough but **believe** in yourself. Think of my friend when you feel weak; she fought her cancer for months & months because she wanted to live & be with the people she loved. She fought for herself & for her children (we discussed this specifically). When doctors gave her less than 24 hours, she fought and gave herself *eight more days*!!! With out food in her system for at least a month, and hardly any fluids (everything came up even water), she hung on. Think of those that suffered with cancer & survived it, of your brave Aunt Margret who fought even though she was in her 90’s! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! HD, gives wonderful advice & I agree; keep in contact medhelp, sleep, water & of course come here & talk & laugh with us. I am so humbled that you shared this & so proud of you that you are taking your life back .

          • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

            Thank you Susan~
I feel like such an idiot~I am in such pain again & the withdrawals are really kicking in now. Thank you for reminding why I am here & Auntie Margaret & you & your friends. I was so scared to tell you all. It seems like everything is in so much turmoil all the time I just want it to stop. I told mama & Allan & they will help all they can. I will certainly come here to laugh & talk I need you more than ever.

            • Sha2000 says:

I’ll make sure to stop by every day 🙂

              Keep strong.

              • Sha2000 says:

Hey btw, in case you didn’t see it yet; scroll up & see HD preform her poetry, she is truly inspirational & empowering.

    • klmh says:

BBLK, Im proud of you for deciding today is the day. I can only relate to my experiences, but I believe denial is at least 50% of the problem. You have recognized the need to get off of the meds and you can do it. You have been given a gift, the gift of recognition, and you can, and will adjust your life to make it better for you and your family.
It will be a day to day struggle for the first few weeks, but with sobriety comes clarity and appreciation that life without overmedication will make you better and stronger for you and your family. As you well know, your pain is your family’s and friends as well, and this is your first day to make things right.
Know that you can succeed and you will. Congratulations on your huge first step. Keep us posted.

      • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

        klmh~
thank you so much. I will be here more & more hopefully. Really hard to type & write again. That’s how I got on pain medicine.
Feel better not having to worry about club anymore & now can concentrate on getting back to semi~normal~
        Abby~normal~young frankenstein. first joke today.

        • klmh says:

Loved, loved, loved that movie. Mel Brooke’s one of my fav’s of all times. Loved Blazing Saddles so much! Keep the humor and you will be rewarded with success. Depression is your enemy. When things look to be getting darker, go outside to the sunshine or wonderful rain, read scripture if that’s your thing, go to a positive place, your family, something that makes you alive and happy, like defeating a “dementor” (Harry Potter).
          Best to you.

        • twoile says:

@BBLK. OT Just a note 2 let u know that there is a software that allows u 2 speak the words & it types it in the hardware, Dragon makes it……..they are advertising a lot on air lately. I had one of the original versions about over 10yrs ago I’m sure it is even better since then….just a idea that would take care of the pain in typing etc. ;0)

          • Undermywheels says:

I have the new Dragon Dictate and it is AMAZING! It took 3 mins to train to my voice…really simple.

    • Nancy says:

      Patty,
Hang in there. My husband and I work in this area of medicine. (My husband is a “Dr Drew”.) If we can help in any way let me know. Detox has come along way. There are other drugs that you can take to make it tolerable.
Also if you still need medication for pain go to a “Pain Clinic” as there are many different ways to deal with it.
      I’ll be thinking of you.
      Nancy

      • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

        Hi Nancy~
I just quit the vfw club so that’s another step in the right direction.
I will certainly ask you many questions if you don’t mind.
Thank you so much. I love Dr. Drew too.
We don’t have much money so I am going to do this at home.

        • Nancy says:

          BaaBee,
Are you going “Cold Turkey”? I hope not. Do you have a Free Clinic where you live? What does the Medhelp program have to say?

          • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

They say it will feel like I am dying but I will be ok. I was taking lortabs. I stopped for 4 days last month & thought if I only helped at club for tips it would be ok 1 night. We have St. Luke’s here & I will stop by next week or call them in the morning.
Maybe they can help. I didn’t even think of that.

    • LynnNChicago says:

Patty, I know it’s hard to share the tough stuff but I’m so glad you did, if there is a group of people that will support you and care, this is that group. We’re all here for you and maybe some here even have ideas or experience that can help you.

I don’t know if this will help you but I had a friend who went through a narcotics withdrawal and said that really hot showers or soaking in a really hot tub helped with the physical pain a little bit. Best of luck to you, hang in there and let us know how you’re doing. xoxo

      • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Thank you so much Lynn~I feel like I am talking to another super star~you don’t know how much you all mean to me.
I love you all..I didn’t mean to rain on your parade but need some love & hugs right now. That is what the medhelp says too.
I will be here at least a few times a day. Hubby is on his way to the store to stock up on vitamins & fruit & juice.

        • quincyil says:

I have no experience with this, but do things to make yourself feel and look better. Have your hair styled and take a friend to shop for something special just for you.
This is your life and you should try to enjoy every single moment.

          Love,

          Q

      • BaaBee-Is there anywhere you can go to get some
Suboxone or Subutex?? Taken properly, it eases the withdrawal SUBSTANTIALLY.
It is a miracle drug and have seen its benefits-

Maybe you could e-mail me directly, I might be able
        to direct you to someone.
Lynn could give you my e-mail address

        • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

I am willing to try anything thank you Beverly~
          my email address is moviepuss@aol.com.
          Love movies & kitties 😉

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

baaBee- I have no background in anything like this and I feel so inadequate. I like klmh’s advice to you ,and of course everyone else’s too. KLMH’s has a ring of truth to it- I can tell she’s been there done that- probably has a t-shirt.

Stay strong- you CAN do this.

I am sending you peace, and love… and surrounding you with a white light of protetcion.

            • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

              Thank you OMIB~
You are all helping me already~feel like crap but I will get through this with any & all suggestions. Sorry to be a such a downer on such a happy occasion.

              • klmh says:

I feel closer sharing an experience in my life with you and those here. Its cathartic, even at this point in my sobriety, at 23 years, and I hope I can help make it a better experience for you.
You will come to realize you are the one in charge. It is your decision and although our drug of choice is different, our dependancies aren’t. Many feel the need for AA or participation in a group and that has been successful for the vast majority of addicts. I on the other hand, did it myself, with the help of a loving husband by my side. I was told I would not be successful, and that made me stronger. I’m a stubborn old fart.

                • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

klmh~unfortunately AA didn’t work for me.
But I am stubborn too & tired of being trapped & living for these damn pills.
I am extremely lucky to have you all & hubby & mama who knows too.
                  Thank you sweet ones.

                  • OneMoreInBoston says:

my little brother hasn’t had a drop in 25 years and also did it alone- no AA- he hated the groups.

They also told him he would fail without the support of a group enviroment.

He is an atheist and chafed under the “Let Go, Let God” philosophy. Yet many others are comforted by that.

You CAN do it whether you do it alone or with help.

We are all rooting for you.

                    • klmh says:

I think there is a basic philosophy flaw in AA, for me anyway. It welcomesdependency. It does not support independentence. It doesn’t empower, but stresses failure as an option and a you can try tomorrow attitude. jmo.

              • Mookies1mom says:

You are not a downer. This is just how life is sometimes. I think everyone has given you some great advice. The only thing I can add is to make sure that someone is with you while you go through this. Not just to give you moral support but sometimes when you are detoxing stuff happens. I am not trying to scare you, just want to make sure you have someone there for you. I think you are incredibly brave. You recognized a problem and you are taking the bull by the horns and doing something about. Hang in there!!!!

    • Rabble Rouser says:

After what seems like weeks of watching Charlie Sheen’s denial and enablers and exploiters circling like sharks, to see someone who admits they have a problem and wants support, it makes me so proud of you.

Anytime you need a few kind words or some support and encouragement, post here.

      You can beat this.

      • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Thank you all so much~you don’t know how much what you say means to me. My hubby Allan will be with me the whole time.
He is a disabled veteran & needs to get off same medicine but will take more time.
I love you all for being here. It is helping so much.

        • vilzvet says:

Don’t go anywhere Babee, as you can see there is a lot of support here! Thinking of you…

Don’t have much experience with this sort of thing, BaaBee, but always up for a chat if you feel the need. I remember you check in early in the am as do I. Good luck to you and your husband.

            • Nancy says:

              BaaBee,
Instead of going “Cold Turkey” you can taper down your dose. Take one less pill everyday and soon you will get to zero.
There is NO REASON to go Cold Turkey.
Trust me, I do this all day long.

    • twoile says:

@Patty, From your prior posts I would feel confident in saying Aunt Margaret is pleased that you are taking care of yourself…….difficult yes ……but you’ve done the difficult with success b4……impossible ………well that is just more of a challenge & you are up to this challenge as you’ve triumphed over other challenges as well……..EZ..nothing worth doing is EZ…so there you are blessings for you towards your successful triumph!!!!!!!! Take care, Jeanne

  29. Kellita says:

You looked so beautiful, Lynn! I’m so happy for your trip to NY. You deserve it!
You writing made me feel like I was there. I hope you get opportunities to meet other HW in the future. It’s really fun to hear about your impressions of what they’re really like.

What a sweet person Cat is! I will definitely read her book after hearing that she’s so gracious. I really started liking her toward the end of the show. She grew on me.

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

Yes, Lynn you looked beautiful!! I am glad that you have a good time in my city, New Yawk City!

  30. Dani says:

Congratulations Lynn, and thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with all of us. I was so excited to wake up this morning and read your blog first thing and I wasn’t dissapointed. As always it was wonderful. Thank you again. The pictures of you with everyone are great and I am sure people that meant you walked away and said what a wonderful person you are. I will be buying Cat’s book.

  31. WindyCityWondering says:

Lynn – you always share and we are all so very happy for you! Glad you got to talk to a couple of the RH/hubbies and hunks too. I have always suspected that your blog has been read by many of those who are written about. As for Andy – maybe that cranky old housewife is Jill…..lol

  32. klmh says:

How much fun was that for you and your friend??? As Q mentioned, it was a trip of a lifetime. Hope you have more of them if you want. Im excited you were able to meet other cast members of DC. They seem like a fun and good group of girls to be around.
Thanks for keeping us up to date on the event, and again, congratulations Lynn.

  33. Great blog Lynn! It sounds like you had a great time. I’m impressed that Andy Cohen knew who you were. You are becoming famous! I wasn’t that crazy about Cat when RHODC was on the air but I am a new fan of hers. I am going to get her book.

  34. plainviewsue says:

Lynn, you made us all feel like we were there with you. I love the fact that everyone knew you!! Including Andy Cohen!!!! You know that Jill reads your blog, and I would love to be a fly on the wall, when she read about his not only knowing your blog but knowing the name of it!!!!

You are such a fabulous writer. Good for you!

  35. housewifeaddict says:

Wow Lynn! I’m glad you had such a fantastic time. What a huge reward for all the hard work you’ve put into this blog. You’ve really become part of the HW family. Were there any other HWs there? I thought someone mentioned OC was in town, and what about NJ and the rest of the NY ones? You’d think they’d all support each other. You looked beautiful! I’m so glad you got to chat with Andy too!!

  36. skogsstig says:

    Stray thoughts:
BaaBee -Sending lots of warm thoughts, sympathy, hugs and encouragement your way!

HD – Bravo on your Apollo performance!!! And thanks for all your thought provoking posts. 🙂

Quincy – I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your HWNYC Season 4 blogs. They outshine anything that actually gets on the air! ♥

    • quincyil says:

I really enjoy writing them. Thank you. Lynn will add photos to the rest. I read the instructions and just couldn’t figure it out.

      Lynn ads one liners too.

Lynn – Many thanks for your blog from the NYC visit! It really feels as if you brought us along in your pocket. 🙂
Your NY friend is truly special – someone to be treasured, I’m sure.

  38. TEB says:

Great job Lynn!! Was your NYC friend anyone we know from this blog? A wall st sort?

  39. Nancy says:

Hi again Lynn. If you are invited to any OC or BH events you are more than welcome to stay with us. (Seriously) Must be a cat & dog lover though.

    • LynnNChicago says:

WOW Nancy! That is so sweet of you! That would be so cool to be invited to California for one of their events, I’ll see if I can talk one of them into writing a book ? lol I love animals! I have a few of my own here!

      • Nancy says:

Our guest room has your name on it. You might have to share the bed with some furry creatures but it doesn’t sound like you will mind.

  40. Kansas Girl says:

I second everything everyone has said up there ^ ! And add my thanks to all who made it possible for you to go.

I look forward to more details as you remember more. I’m sure as things get back to normal, you’ll think of more and more fun things that went on. And about the remainder of your say there. Did you go to 30 Rock? (Andy would be a good interview!)

The blog is a massive love-fest today, isn’t it! So happy for you and that we can share in it.

  41. Cusi77 says:

Thank you so much Lynn for sharing this incredible experience in NYC! I am so happy for you! You looked GORGEOUS! I enjoyed so much your recap that I feel like I was there! Kind Thanks to your NYer friend!

  42. vilzvet says:

Great report, Lynn! Looks like a grand time was had by all! I look forward to getting Cat’s book, since I am now getting alot of use of this e-reader. Cat’s book will be my next purchase, after I’m done with “Never Let Me Go” which is killing me (was made into a movie last year). Is it me but does Lynda look like a far more beautiful, nicer version of Danielle? Mary is also stunning, but too bad Rich had to “babysit”? Aren’t their kids pretty much older?

    • Mimisfbay says:

omg, the Ishigaro? I just saw the movie last night, distubing.

      • vilzvet says:

Yes the author’s last name is Ishiguro, so you know the book. We saw the movie last week and I just had to read the novel, just started it. The movie was sooooooo disturbing! Great young actors, Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan, etc.

  43. MickeyMouth says:

What a fun night! Thank you for giving us this wonderful recount. I’m so happy for you!

  44. kbinldo says:

Sounds like you had a great time, Lynn! Congrats again for getting the recognition you’ve worked hard for! 😀

  45. VincenzoNewYork says:

Lynn, when you return to NYC, let me know! I would love to meet you in person! We can have a NYC Lynn Chicago Blog Convention.

    • vilzvet says:

Crap, I’m going to NYC Tuesday and too bad Lynn’s gone, I would have asked to meet with her, whether she liked it or not, heheh.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

lol. I though of you the other day! I was in Huntington!

      • LynnNChicago says:

I would have LOVED that, sorry we missed each other…I hope someday soon we can meet!

        • vilzvet says:

Oooh that is so sweet! Made my day…
Vincenzo, where you barhopping! That is what Huntington is known for, good bars and restaurants. And a train stop to Manhattan.

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

I had dinner at the Mediteranean Sanck Bar; it’s a Greek Place, located on NY avenue.

H-town does have a night life! I’m not a big drinker and I wouldn’t feel confortable driving back to the south shore without a designated driver!! That would be funny if we bump into each other in town one day. Does your town have a village?

            • vilzvet says:

It IS just a little town, with a couple of good restaurants. At least the train passes through, so alot of commuters here.

        • VincenzoNewYork says:

Vilzet and I can travel into the city and meet you! lol
All the NYC and Long Islanders on the blog would love to meet and spend some time with you.

        • Lynn!! I would have loved to meet you! I live so close to the city, next time you’re in town give a shout out to us new york commentators in Lynnfam and we’d love to chat!
So sorry I missed you 😦
I want a pic with Lynn!!!

  46. The consensus on Twitter seems to be that Andy got RealOldHousewife and me confused, as we have very different blogs which discuss the Housewives.

As I laughingly told him this morning via Twitter, I may be cranky and old, but I am a broad, not a housewife. 😉

Personally, I am surprised that he even knew I existed, to get me confused with any of the ladies involved in the open letter. I have never sent him or Bravo an email, and I usually just take his name off any Twitter responses in order to free up ten characters, on the assumption that he won’t see it anyway. I do however give the Housewives (and occasionally Andy Cohen as well) holy hell on my blog, LOL.

Still, it is very cool that Andy Cohen knows at least three of the Housewives blogs exist, and has clearly been reading them since he knew the bloggers’ names off the top of his head (even though he confused two of us, that is actually kind of understandable given the similarity in names). 🙂

    • Bea from NJ (@sweeetbea on Twitter) says:

      😀

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

love your blog- thanks for posting.

Rather remarkable that Andy knows about the “hobby” bloggers. Next step: I would like him to do a bit more outreach to you all- as the bloggers have the most rabid of HW fans.

    • LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

Just checked out your blog. Had never visited before. I am adding you to my favorites list.

  47. aquamarinecandy-o83 says:

Way to go Lynn!! Great photos — you looked amazing and the others did as well! Glad you had a great time at the party and in NYC. Thanks for giving us all the scoop and that is great you were able to reconnect with Alex and Simon again!! I’m definitely looking forward to reading Cat’s book!

  48. klmh says:

Forgive my repetitiveness. All of these hw are out for two things, fame and money. They are all selling their wares, including JZ. That is their focus. Who would, in their right mind, subject themselves to the constant criticism and magnification of their actions for all to see? Who would want others checking, dissecting and speculating on your past? Who would allow their families to suffer because of either misinformation or hurtful truths? If you fall into the trap of purchasing anything from these ladies, you encourage their behavior and notoriety. Jill is no better than Bethany. They are exactly alike in this respect. But Bethany is a clever girl and does it with humor and successful, to some, snark. jmo

    • klmh says:

Sorry, this slipped and is for Vincenzo in response to a post of his above.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

I agree that they are in it for fame and money. I wouldn’t want my life to be showcased for people to analyze and criticize every move I make. I agree that Bethenny is more successful at marketing herself; she has a talent for it. Some people do find her comments to be humerous; Some do not, including me.
I bought my second copy because I really liked Lisa, Jill’s sister, and I wanted to help it reach the best seller list. I think that we are encouraging their bad behavior at times, but we live in a capitalist nation, where consumerism is a ubiquitous aspect of our life; it is paramount component to being an American.
I think that reading someone’s book is a great thing. You can learn from it, and it encourages adults to read more. I think that if somoene does have a gift to share, then more power to them. I also feel that fans want to be more connected to a celebrity; this enables the celebrity to leave a lasting impression on his fanbase.

        • klmh says:

I agree. Some think it brings them closer to someone they feel they respect.
There is nothing redeeming to me about these ladies, but they are fun to watch. Would I purchase a book from JZ about what her mother taught her and brought her up to be? No. She is certainly not a role model, for me anyway. Would I buy into any of these ladies sales gimmicks? Nope. I would possibly become more interested in charities they support though. Unfortunately there is something to be learned by all of us through their (hw) bad behavior. It should make us more aware anyway. Who knows?

          • VincenzoNewYork says:

I agree, we can learn from their behavior.

            • Dani says:

I respect your opinion. My husband bought Jill’s book for me as a joke. I did read it and found it very hypocritical. What she writes and then the way she acts are totally different. I also have Bethenny’s books and I will say from what I see she practices what she preaches. I could not get the picture of Jill out of my mind when she is sitting on the couch with LuAnn and lies to Bethenny. Then to tell her that she was done with her. When I was reading Jill’s book it just all seemed so phony to me after watching her on HWONY.

I don’t think Jill wrote the book, Lisa Wexler, lawyer and sister to Jill Zarin is the true author. Gloria helped also. I think that Lisa and Gloria created the book and Jill was to help market it with her famous name.

                • Bea from NJ (@sweeetbea on Twitter) says:

That’s my feeling on it too. Jill had hand in creating the book, but I believe her sister & to a certain extend, her mother, were instrumental in writing it. It was a smart move to naturally have Jill involved to capitalize on her fame. Unfortunately, the book came out at a time when the worst of Jill was being shown on RHONY.

              • WindyCityWondering says:

I read it to – there was NO advice I would give a daughter and I would tell my sons to run from a woman who held these “values” or “life goals”.

  49. HD says:

    OT but about OC.

This may be just me but did anyone ever think that Don would have been a better match with Jeena?

    • Mimisfbay says:

Yesssssssss, go HD. I watched the preview and it looks like someone threw a drink on her. Am I seeing things? I think Donn seemed like such a nice guy and took all of Vicki’s BS. Just tuned in to see the episode where they renew their vows. He was so emotional and loving. She was…Vicki. It would be so fun to see Jeana with Donn even if they were just dating a bit.

      • HD says:

I have always thought that! Don seems very laid back and so did Jeana. Vicki and Don just never seemed like the right fit. I can completely see Don and Jeana having a wonderful life together. I think Vicki let a good man go but when its not right its just not right. Maybe her love tank was empty again. 🙂

        • California35 says:

Lol – she her her empty tank 😛 maybe all the wa int her tank was what Don put in it, because she needs to put some ther also.

        • Mimisfbay says:

I think that poor Donn really is the reason that Vicki seemed a bit human. Remember in earlier seasons Jeana kinda flirted with him? She would defend him because it seemed she was receiving the same kind of treatment from that jerk husband.

          • HD says:

I remember that! And I was thinking hmmmmm I wonder if she likes him? I remember that clearly. I think she would have loved to be with Donn but you know I actually do not put it past Jeana to go after him once the divorce is finalized if its not already.

            • vilzvet says:

Are Vicki and Don divorced already? They’re showing all last season’s OC today and it’s amazing that now they’re broken up along with Tamra/Simon, yet Gretchen and Slade are still together!

              • Rabble Rouser says:

I think it’s because Slade is an attention whore and a bum. He’s got no where to go- and being on the show because of his involvement with her is his only pay cheque.

    • twoile says:

      Yes!!!

  50. Mimisfbay says:

JZ? Celebrity? Hmmmmmm. Nope, not buying it or her bloody book.

I will, on the other hand buy Cat’s and ordering it on Amazon today. I think she was great to invite you to the launch Lynn. I do hope that Bravo will at least get early promo info to you and slip you some dirt.

JZ’s behavior is repulsive and I, for one, still hate her. The recent Imus interview was the gift that keeps on giving. She is a beast.

    • California35 says:

Agree! Independently of the fact that I am Bethenny’s fan, I don’t think is right of her to talk about her on her interviews AT ALL. But most importantly not say those things… Then again, that is Jill for you…she is being herself…the self that keeps reminding us that she is still the same Jill.

  51. Scorpiosue1102 says:

Lynn, I am so happy for you that you were able to go to Cat’s party. I’m one of the few that have always liked Cat so it was nice to see that she really is a good person. I’m more jealous that you met Ebong. He seems like such a nice, gracious and overall good person.

Was there any mention of them being picked up for another season or the Salahi’s at all? Just curious.

Interesting that Andy knows all about your blog. Personally, I think it would be awesome to see “hobby bloggers” on his show with a housewife and see how that rolls :).

    Again, congrats Lynn!

    • California35 says:

Great idea 🙂 it would be interesting. A small segment of what blogers say about the program, or what viewers have to say about the program…or more specially of the house wives 🙂

  52. California35 says:

Baabee – I wish you well. I was wondering if you are doing this cold turkey, or if there is a way you can slowly do this.

HD – like your poetry and how you express it. Hope you get a lot of “gigs” 🙂

Lynn, I’m still so excited you had the chance to meet these people and had a great time this weekend. Again, Thanks for sharing!!

  53. So cool Lynn!!
I’m glad you had a great time, and not surprised that everyone was nice except for Stacie.
Andy read the letter! LOL. Uh oh… does that mean he also saw the photoshop I made with a gun to his head?

    • quincyil says:

I think that one of his unpaid interns probably told him about that photo. He was very handsome BTW.

    • LynnNChicago says:

I had a whole list of questions for him RCH and unfortunately only got to ask him one… and the answer was fuzzy at best! lol But its funny you mention that because I did want to ask him if he saw that on your blog, and if he saw any of Mickey Mouth’s creations. Hopefully someday we’ll get to ask him more questions.. lol

  54. quincyil says:

I think a blog about the blogs would be of interest. It seems silly, but a master blog with links like the Drudge Report would be a hit with fans.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

That is a very interesting idea – while I see pros and cons it would be a moving snapshot of where fans’ feelings are at any given time on the shows being blogged about. Would it improve the product?

  55. Lighthouse says:

OT… but amusing: Charlie Sheen Quotes Song

  56. Katie (aka kats2) says:

Shocking that Andy doesn’t pay more attention to all the bloggers, you keep the interest of the fans going and have kept many people from walking away from certain HW franchises. Andy is a fool that he is not involved more. I hope more HW’s will reach out to Lynn to do interviews.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

      AGREE !!!

What a waste of a great PR opportunity.

      • Katie (aka kats2) says:

Sure is in so many ways. I was not crazy about Cat and the DC crew but I’m starting to like them now.

      • Mimisfbay says:

I agree too. I would never have continued to watch because of the BRAVO blog frustration. I remember when I found Lynn it was after I had written a long, very long, comment that was not published, of course. When I found Lynn I could read her comments and feel like others were totally freaked out by Kelly’s behavior. I still question them continuing her on the show. Somehow knowing there were others made watching the show less scary.

  57. floridagirl88 says:

    I hate Jill Zarin.

    I loooooooooooovvvvvvveeeeeee this blog.

Thank you, Lynn. I look forward to reading this blog every day (well actually several times a day). What a great group of people we have here.

  58. lillybee says:

OT, I think that NBC is trying to present NeNe as the star of the Apprentice.

    • Mimisfbay says:

Really? I did see that she was kinda featured in the promotion. It struck me because, love ’em or not Star Jones and LaToya Jackson are truly famous celebrities. Why would Nene be featured in so many of the promos? Does she have that much recognition? Well, Anderson Cooper put her on the map; in my humble opinion. What do I know?

      • WindyCityWondering says:

Apprentice doesn’t seem like a fit for NeNe – she is not educated, business oriented or in possession of a charming personality. IMO, Bethenny crossed over to the network with some success (and a measurable fan base) – NeNe will not.

        • twoile says:

ITA. Nene has peaked!…..sell by date is passed…..& she did it to herself…….. one screaming mimi to many on HWs….!

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

well, I have worked with ex strippers before. They are some of the savviest business women I have ever met.

And they’re so bat shit crazy they’ll throw whatever they can against the wall to see what will stick- they are absolutely fearless risk takers because they just do not care about your opinion.

If it doesn’t make them money they just won’t do it. Absolute sharks when they smell blood in the water.

The challenge that they seem to have each and every time, in my experience, they cannot work well with people in positions of authority over them. They chafe at any type of guidance or direction refusing to take a leap of faith to trust their boss or investors or whatever, no matter what the personal cost.

I think it has something to do with the theory that strippers were sexually abused at some point. Too bad too, I’ve worked with many that were truly entrapenurial.

        • floridagirl88 says:

I think Trump is using Nene to bring more viewers to the show. We are all curious to see if she cleans up her “act” for Celebrity Apprentice or if she is just a loud mouth that didn’t learn anything. I am in agreement that she is well past her expiration date.

    • floridagirl88 says:

Naaah, on one of the promo clips, she wasn’t even introduced by name while some of the others were. In another clip LaToya was and there was just a half second of Nene. In her mind she thinks she is a star.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

She had to resort to yelling and threatening to get noticed – NeNe’s playbook is very limited.

  59. terry aley says:

OMG I can’t believe this is the same Lynn that got started as the guest blogger on my website! It’s amazing how far she’s gone! I’m getting teary eyed.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Thank you for being one of those bloggers who supports and appreciates your fellow bloggers – together you give us so much to snark about and have fun with!

      • terry aley says:

I love all the bloggers! You get real content that doesn’t go through a corporate filter. And much, much more interesting than reading something on the Bravo website.

    • LynnNChicago says:

AWWW Terry, thanks hon! I thank you so much for giving me a chance, you encouraged me and were so supportive, I adore you babes! You’re the best! xoxo

  60. twoile says:

@Lynn Soooooooooo much 2 read & soooooo little time;) What I have read is delightful mostly for the gr8 time you enjoyed w/Alice 2…pics look wonderful….I’m thrilled 4 you & have enjoyed vicariously through your “Big Apple” visit….there will b new meaning to the HWs blogs thanks 2 your “new friends”……now u can rest/relax a bit while u bask in ur glory…FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;0)

  61. Noreen says:

    Lynn,

Thanks so much for the recap of your exciting NY night! How lucky we are to have this blog. BRAVO and Andy owe you a lot of respect. I was a NY fan only (never watched OC) until after I found this blog. Now I watch so many of the shows on Bravo because of this blog (except Miami of course). Hobby my foot; you are a pro.

    Thanks again!

  62. klmh says:

Probably because she made a total ass of herself, again. She used to be one of my favs, but I find it difficult to look at her anymore.

  63. BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Well I finally read it all~
You are so lucky & talented.
Love & Peace to us all & thank you all again.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

babydoll- you make your own luck.
The only way IMHO to make luck is to take off the blinders to your own possibilities. Your doing just that by getting off of the painkillers.

  64. VincenzoNewYork says:

    From above:

HD: aww ty. she has yoga pants too?? Oy gevalt! She needs to take a break!

@Florida: That’s wonderful that you like her DVD. I will say that I do think people who are new to yoga will feel less intimidated by seeing Bethenny’s range of motion, and some of her less then perfect postures. I will give her credit for that;Yoga is not about perfection;perfect alignment comes with practice and awareness. If someone enjoys her Yoga DVD; then that is wonderful.

The reason I won’t buy the dvd because I feel that Yoga is not her ‘gift’ to share to the world; when I use the term gift, I am conveying the viewpoint that she has not spent years practicing diligently like the Yogis who have DVDS to offer the world. She is using her fame to sell a product. She needs to ask herself, what is the purpose of this product? My friend bought the DVD and we both hated it.

I feel that Bethenny should do a Rachel Ray type of gig. She could show us how to cook healthy meals. If she has a propensity towards cooking, why not do cooking DVDS, or try to launch a career akin to Rachel Ray’s career? I think she needs to hone her own gifts instead of saturing the market and viewers with products that do not extend beyond her talents.

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

**I know she did not lead the sequence herself.** I was lucky to try the product without buying it. My friend donated it to the Library. lol.

  65. klmh says:

    HD:

Enjoyed your performance above. I love your passion and you convey it well.

Next question, how did you like the Skinny Girl margarita? I saw her recipe, before she began production, and wondered how you would rate each and their differences. Here is her recipe:

    The Skinnygirl™ Margarita
The margarita you love, only 100 calories.
    Makes one serving
2 oz of Clear Premium Tequila (count 1, 2 while you pour, no need for measuring)
    Tiny splash of Orange Liquor
Juice of 4 Fresh Lime Wedges

    • HD says:

      Thank you so much, KLMH.

Actually I never tried B’s drink. I was saying that was the only product that I would buy but they don’t sale it here. If they did I probably would have bought it.

Having said that, as you posted, she put the recipe all over the net and I am one that likes to get a bang for my buck so it just makes sense to make it yourself because you would save money. I did make it myself and it tasted like a magarita but just cleaner. Probably because that mix has sugar or high fructose corn syrup in it. Once people get over the novelty of a “skinny girl” trademark they realize that they can pretty much make a lot of drinks low cal if they mix the alcohol with diet drinks or just fresh lime juice. Bethanny just found a way to market something that is easy to make.

      • klmh says:

Good to know. So many bottled products, like ranch dressing just can’t compare to making it with real ingredients. Just wondered.
        Thanks!

  66. @tweatcyn says:

Oh Vinnie, I had so hoped you were being ironic about Jill. You are too nice to be true. Do you have any clones in California you can set me up with?
While I enjoy Bethenny on RHNY,
BGM and BEA, I don’t like any of her products so far. Two books and DVD are both crappy recycling of every nutrition and exercise theory out there. Kind of like Scientology. I donated my copies to Good Will (though that may have been bad will on my part). On the other hand, Simon and Alex’s book was very good, and I don’t even have kids. I’m looking forward to reading Cat’s.
Congratulations Lynn on the fruition of a great opportunity. I’m definitely Jelly.

    • VincenzoNewYork says:

@Tweacyn: Thanks, I not all nice lol. I have ‘mean’ in me at times.
Alex and Simon’s book will be next. I don’t have children;I just think it would be an interesting read. Alex is a very good writer, and that is what I am more interested in. I like to read and educate myself on various topics. Maybe her book will be useful for me in years to come.
Cat’s book is delicious! I wish I didn’t read it is so rapidly.

      • vilzvet says:

Loved Alex and Simon’s book! It is on my shelf next to Bethenny’s and, um, Luann’s. Jill’s book? I just waited and got it at the library to confirm it’s reputation. And no Bikini Book, I don’t consider Kelly an author, she’s been annoying me lately all over again because I just watched the Psychosis episode and her obsession with “You’re a cook, not a chef” is clear and evident. Bethenny handled herself SO well in those scenes.

  67. EricSale says:

Hope WSL counted the silverware after you left!

    • Oh… the irony of using that name while accusing someone of being a thief!
      LOL
Thanks for the laugh! I needed that.

    • HD says:

      Is that a joke?

I know we are all having a good, fun time today keeping it kinda light and just shooting the breeze until this evening…

    • twoile says:

      @ES LOL;)

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

oh darlin. Shouldn’t Jen have posted this? oh forgot she’s doing her community service work over the weekend. Where are the kids? running amuck with a sharpie while you make some break and bake cookies?
Careful of those PTA moms- I have been told they’re all dirty whores 😉

    • LynnNChicago says:

      Oh EricSale…you’re such a jokester!

Just an FYI, it is easier for people to get to know you if you stick to one name on the blog, but your previous names on this blog like Sunshine, Periwinkle, Starlight and MyIdeas were all good ones too, but try to stick to just one, ok?

    • Bea from NJ (@sweeetbea on Twitter) says:

Pot calling Kettle comes to mind .. I see the trolls are out again SMH

  68. Katie (aka kats2) says:

I dm’d Lynn that the green eyed monster would rear its ugly head over her victorious trip to NYC and there is no doubt about Lynn’s success with all things HW’s. It’s a shame people just can’t be happy for each other and if they have nothing nice to say or contribute to just move on and spend their time and energy finding their own happiness and success. I think I was 5 years old when I learned this basic life lesson on how to treat other people. It’s never too late.

    • quincyil says:

The Catholic Church says the Age of Reason is Seven Years Old.

      “Age of Reason
The name given to that period of human life at which persons are deemed to begin to be morally responsible. This, as a rule, happens at the age of seven, or thereabouts, though the use of reason requisite for moral discernment may come before, or may be delayed until notably after, that time. ”

At 7 years old, the Church holds you accountable for you behaviors. You have your first confession and Holy Communion in the second grade. After that, you are always held accountable for your behavior and for your sins.

  69. 2Stuupid says:

Lynn I am so excited for you. You are extending your own brand/blog (Bethenny would be so proud!) Ok I am going to beat this dead horse, and since it has been mentioned upthread, what is going on with WSL? I want to make sure that there is not negative energy afloat where she is concerned. I am in the financial industry and I know the only thing you have is your reputation, you can be golden one day, and considered shady the next. There had been innuendo that something had been said on Twitter and now she is not posting on the blog. If I am crossing some line by asking outright, I apologize. However, I am one of those people that think some of these housewives behavior, especially Jill, can be vile in real life and they operate completely devoid of conscious.

  70. LynnNChicago says:

I saw a few questions on the board, I’m going to try to answer them all.

They served Champaign and flavored waters, there were a few snacks around the room.
No one was drunk that I saw….not even Mary LOL Kidding! Seriously, Mary was great!
They all had a good amount of makeup on, (except Alex) mostly the base you can see it was a bit heavy but I think that is because they were going to be photographed, its almost like having to wear makeup like an actor on film. They all looked flawless!
Ebong was incredible, offering to get us a drink from the bar and taking a genuine interest in all of us – he is as tall as Lynda is short but they work together, they were so sweet!
WSL is FANTASTIC! She’s not been run off the blog by anyone, she is just really busy and she isn’t really watching any of the shows airing now. I’m sure she’ll be back when she’s ready or when she has something to say 🙂 She’s still reading as much as she can so feel free to send her messages here.

I think I answered all the questions that I saw…thanks for all the support and good thoughts everyone!!! xo

    • 2Stuupid says:

Thanks for answering Lynn. I have to say I always felt like Ebong and Lynda were very genuine!

    • nancy says:

Thank you Lynn for the info on WSL. I really miss her posts. WSL, if you are reading know that we are all thinking of you.

How are you doing this afternoon?

  72. Lynn.. Congrats for you! I am so happy you received the invitation and had the chance to attend. Very exciting! Shmooches lady!

  73. butterisafruit says:

    Dear Lynn,

I’m so happy you were able to go to this celebration. Cat was right to invite you. She knew what a kind and fair minded person you are. It’s a little victory for the rest of us too. Someone is listening and reading. And none of us would have that if it were not for you.
Your excellent writing, and editorializing has kept us all enthused.
If you never set up this site we’d all be floundering, and it’s been your excellent out takes on each show that makes this place true entertainment. The neatest thing is, the major players also read this .
The pictures are great and you look adorable. You deserve all that is good.
I apologize for not being very active here, even though I try to read it daily. My husband is back in rehab, and my days are spent there. I can’t wait for him to be “fixed” and I can get back to posting and sharing the joy. Quincy that’s for you too.
    Love
    Mary Ellen

    • quincyil says:

I hope he gets better. For weeks after, I fell my neck had spasms. I know what that kind of pain is like. Take care of him.

      Q

      • butterisafruit says:

Thanks Quincy, It will be a year June when his health took a downward spiral. Not that it was that great in the first place. This is his second major surgery since then. I try and catch up with Lynn’s blog in the morning. When I saw that she was going to the Launch Party I was thrilled..still am. It shows that accurate reporting and excellent writing does win in the end.
You can’t fake talent, Lynn’s GOT IT.

    • klmh says:

Im not sure what would have happened if Lynn hadn’t developed this blog, but Im sure my husband would have been the recipient of some undirected rants and raves being thrown about the house. Helped with the kittehs and dogs temperaments and peace of minds as well.
My family thanks you Lynn and Q.

  74. Need a Hobby says:

Great blog & great pics, Lynn! Seriously cool!!! Sounds like you had a great time.

And kudos to Cat for doing the podcast interview & extending the invite to the book launch. Smart of her to do so, really. She establishes some good will outside of the show & helps her book by doing so.

    Congrats, Lynn! 😀

  75. klmh says:

    Guess Nene pissed Andy off:

    http://absurdtosublime.net/

    • quincyil says:

I kept reading down that page. It was full of housewife information.

I am watching Celebrity Apprentice tonight for the board. I really don’t know what to think about Nene and all of this publicity. I thought she was a smart women, but she seems to have made a lot of mistakes.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

When you become a legend in your own mind it is very difficult to see yourself as others see you…..NeNe needs to go away and I hope that Bravo follows through with a phase out. As for her getting her own show…..lol

    • Katie (aka kats2) says:

I don’t think the people who watch prime time TV will like the same Nene we watched on this past season of HW’s. First season Nene she’d be a hit. I think Nene is going to get attention for all the wrong reasons. I hope I’m wrong, because while I don’t care for how Nene has been acting lately, I think she is going through a tough time and is not in a good place.

      • klmh says:

Yes, I agree, but she is her own worst enemy now.

        • quincyil says:

I submitted the notes on “The Apprentice” to Lynn last night. I thought Nene was ok in the first episode. She worked hard and only commented when she was asked to give her honest opinion in the final board meeting.

      • I love watching NeNe self-destruct. I would never ever want to befriend her in real life. She’s scaaaary. Watching celebrity apprentice now, she’s got the biggest ego no jokes

  76. Nancy says:

    Lynn,
I need your help. I’m watching reruns of OC and I want your take on Vickie. (sp?) Help!

  77. m293131 says:

Lynn: Congrats you deserve it!!!! O read Cat’s book because of your recommendation and luvd it!!!

  78. HD says:

Is any one watching the Secret Millionaire?

    • Zarout! says:

I watched it tonight & had my DVR set to record future episodes, but it was so depressing I had to cancel it. I cried like a baby the entire show. I can’t handle the thought of a child going through something like that.

  79. HD says:

Lynn or Quincy-Will there be a blog on The Apprentice? I feel like watching these shows is a full time job. LOL!

  80. ramonacoaster says:

Loved hearing that you had such a good time Lynn and got to speak to everyone (with the exception of Staci). What’s wrong with Staci?

My dog, Baby, died last night. She’s been with me for 12 years since she was 8 wks old. I’ve been crying on and off all day. I know it’ll get better as time passes. I miss her so much.

    • Cusi77 says:

ramonacoaster_ So sorry for you loss sweetie, hang in there… I know how you feel because their love is unconditional… sorry.

    • LynnNChicago says:

I’m so sorry about Baby, I know how you feel. xoxo

Staci arrived late and was cold and unapproachable, it was difficult to get a photo with her as she clearly didn’t want to, she seemed to feel obligated. I think had I not been talking to Paul Wharton at the time, she wouldn’t have even stopped to say hi, and it was Paul who pulled her in to take the photo.

    • HD says:

I am sorry to hear about your dog, Ramona. Pets truly do become part of the family. (I have two cats and one dog). I am sorry.

    • LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your dog, Ramona. It is so hard to lose a pet; they are part of our families, and part of our hearts. Try to remember all the good times you had with her; and also that she had a great life with you.

So sorry honey~we have 4 kitties & 1 is 16 & so thin..Am worried we could lose Sunshine at any time too. They are furry children to us too. We don’t have real kids so there are so very special to us.

    • ramonacoaster says:

Thank you all so much. I really appreciate your kind words. I have another 1yr old Maltipoo puppy that gives me much comfort.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Oh Ramona – so sorry just keep remembering the fun times!

    • So sorry to hear of your dog passing. Its amazing how truly devasting it is to lose a pet. My grandson found my dogs ashes a few weeks ago which I got roped into doing while losing my chit when dog died in vets office. He pets the box of dog ashes to tell him he loves him 3 times a day.. Now he says he is done with the ashes because he now knows that Simba is safe and is loved.. TFF how kids process..

We plan on spreading Simba’s ashes on all the fire hydrants, mail boxes and stop signs around the neighboord this spring.. His stomping grounds.. 😉

    • klmh says:

I am so sorry for your loss Ramonacoaster. They are a part of our family and their loss is profound. In time you will be able to remember the good times.
Is another Baby a possibility? I know its hard to think about another pet, but it doesn’t diminish the love we had for our lost beloved pet and it helps to fill the hole in a bit. Just a though.

    • debbie says:

My heart is breaking for you and your loss. I fully understand how you must be feeling as it’s happened to me.

  81. klmh says:

    BaaBee Loves Kitties:

Please let us know how you are doing.

    • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Am feeling mighty bad as they say. But with all your help & sweet words it is helping me so much.
Peace Love & Hugs to us all
      Thank you klmh~

      • klmh says:

It will get better. I promise. Let us know when you can about St Luke and what they might have that might be of benefit. I’ll check in asap.

  82. vilzvet says:

So I guess we will be seeing Vicki and Don’s marriage implode on-camera just as we saw Tamra’ last season. Right now they seem to be hunky-dory, so this will be interesting to watch. I believe this was filmed beginning last summer, and they filed a couple of months ago? I forgot…It’s only half over and no sighting of the new HW yet. Tamra tattoo removal, serves her right. No one should ever get a name!! You just never know. Looks like we won’t be seeing her younger kids again, Simon must have put the brakes on that. Wow, Fernanda is gorgeous, she should have been the new HW.

  83. HD says:

If you have not done it yet and you have Facebook, please like the Real Housewives of Orange County. I comment on all the shows but the comments people post are HILARIOUS!

    • vilzvet says:

Oh thanks for the reminder. I forgot when you “like” stuff you end up on a message board (but not as great as THIS board!)

  84. lillybee says:

That web site linked above said that OC started late so that they could edit Jim B out
so I am wondering if the same thing is happening to NY.

    • vilzvet says:

Why does Jim need to be edited out? I could see Donn wanting to, but Jim? What gives?

      • HD says:

I think he sued the show or something or other for using his name and painting him as a “shady” character.

      • debbie says:

I read that Jim was no longer taking part in the show because he did’t like the way he was portrayed. Editing made him look like a ‘jerk’. Pretty sure that was the word he used. Although in my opinion, he could have used a much harsher one. He’s a putz.

    • lillybee says:

Something about all his shady business dealings, I think.

  85. LavaLady (formerly known as American Idiot) says:

I’m a little late here Lynn, but just wanted to say thanks for sharing your NYC experience with us, and also all the pictures. I love, love , love that you met Andy, even if you didn’t get to chat with him for very long. You looked beautiful in all the pictures, so happy to be there. So nice of your NY friend to be there with your and help you out. Hope this wonderful experience is the beginning of many more for you.

    • Cusi77 says:

Ditto! this is just the begining… just the begining… Lynn you deserve all the success you are getting and more to come!

  86. Olivia says:

Does Bravo actually think that they are capable of sustaining all franchises with women doing nothing more than calling each other “bitches”?

The first episode of OC is definitely showing the strains of their lack of creativity and imagination. Most of the hour was dedicated to the stupid Gretchen v Tamra “feud” which again makes little to no sense. Having “squared off”during the Reunion Shows no one in their right mind would buy into an invite to a clothing party hosted by the very same person who referred to you as a goldigger and a serial cheat unless it was done strictly for the cameras. Throw an ocean of booze at them and we are off to the races! Boring beyond belief.

And if old Vicki isn’t showing signs of wear and tear I will eat my hat. Six seasons of this backbiting witch and she doesn’t change. As for Fernanda, they will need subtitles under her segments just so the rest of us know what the hell she is saying.

Season 6 should signal the deathknell for having stayed “too long at the party” for the OC. Miami is a disaster. DC utterly boring. NJ a trainwreck. NYC still might have some promise but I am not holding my breath.

Stick a fork in this franchise before it becomes a rival to Sominex.

    • Cusi77 says:

Olivia_ This is the first time I’ve watched OC in Premier. I agree with you that it is boring beyond belief.

I recall watching one episode where Tamra had a dinner party and Gretchen drunk so much Tequila… I got sick of Vicky and Tamra being mean that I change channel faster than I am writing! Then I watched the Reunion of that season… 15 min… Not interested. Not a fan.

I watched Atl because Lynn is blogging the following day and crackes me up to tears! Otherwise… I pass! I will be watching OC because of this blog. This is the first time Lynn will be blogging about this franchise and I would like to know her intake.

      • HD says:

I completely loved this episode! OC is my absolute favorite housewive series out of all of the shows!

        • vilzvet says:

What did you think of Gretchen’s pocketbooks?! Vicki cracked me up: “I’m buying Prada, I’m not going to buy Gretchen’s!” And welcome back again Olivia, you hit the nail on the head. At least Gretchen was being honest, she attended with no expectations. Tamra calls herself a bitch and she IS one. I wonder if custody and now 50/50 with Simon, I will miss seeing her cute kids.

          • WindyCityWondering says:

Wonder if Wanda in Witchita is going to buy Gretchen’s bag after being made fun of too.

    • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Wow ~ I was sorry I missed it again~but maybe not so much now. Was reading blogs on bravo. My brain is not working fully yet but will soon. Always enjoy your opinion because you are usually right.
Well Olivia you are too funny.
      Another one bites the dust?

  87. lillybee says:

Tamara definitely looks like she is channeling Kim Z., especially when she is looking down.
Alexis stop bitching about Tamara’s divorce, it isn’t like you and Jim didn’t do the same thing.

    • Cusi77 says:

Really? I did not know they were divorced before they married each other… she talks like a Menonite and dresses like ….. not that religious person she tries to portray… I did not know her until tonight but something doesn not sound right.

      • quincyil says:

Alexis Bellino came from Hannibal Mo. She and her first husband moved to Southern California. Online, there are articles about Alexis and what the first husband said happen to their marriage.

        • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

I always miss the first episode. I am asleep by 7pm & up at 5am. For no reason. Drives me crazy when I miss the first ones. Went to bravo but they don’t have it in full player yet. The OC wives came back last night right?

          • LavaLady says:

BaaBee I didn’t see OC either, but tonight, at least here on the East Coast, Bravo is repeating it at 9PM.

            • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

I will be lucky to see it at 4 or 5 pm. If it’s on at 8 or 9 it is so hard to stay awake & then sometimes I am up at 4 but for sure at 5am. From what I am reading did not miss much. They used to be pretty good shows & I don’t know why they just keep repeating themselves.

  88. lillybee says:

Tamra’s tattoo removing Dr. was Dr. Will Kirby from Big Brother.

  89. BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Good morning everyone~feel pretty bad but just wanted to thank everyone again.
We will get through this together. For those of you going through it as well I wish for a speedy recovery. I would not wish this on anyone & with your help it really is making it easier. Someone suggested talk type or something I probably cannot afford it but thank you. I cannot talk to my dr. because I am never going back to him but will try St. Luke’s this morning & see what they say.

  90. boston02127 says:

HD–I’m so disappointed that I can’t view the clip of you performing. When people post links from YouTube and such, all I can see is a black box on the blog. My computer stinks. After reading all the posts it sounds like you’re pretty amazing.

    • HD says:

Thank you, Boston. I didn’t know when you post links the video shows up. I think that is new. I really do appreciate all the nice and encouraging comments from everyone!

      • Sha2000 says:

Sometimes the link just shows & sometime the video, I haven’t figured out why yet either.

  91. vilzvet says:

Reminder for your viewing pleasure: noticed “The Channels of Venice” episode in the DVR of NJ, I will have to watch Italy being desecrated today and hideous pantaloon dresses and headgear on poor little girls. Ah good times.

  92. ramonacoaster says:

Bethenny wil be coming up next on NBC’s Today show talking about life after Housewives and her life now.

  93. Kelly_Has_ Big _Shoulders says:

Congratulations Lynn it was nice seeing the pics and reliving the special time you had with you. I have been a fan of your since your first blogs. I usually pipe in here and there but mostly read. I have a quick question I may have missed your explanation but why are you not blogging about the Miami Housewives? Just wondering since I’m Cuban and live in Miami. I was wondering because all the shows get blogged even the horrible New Jersey.

  94. @Bravolebrity1 says:

    Lynn,
I’m so thrilled and excited that you got to meet the DC housewives. I can’t get over how beautiful Mary, Lynda, Ebong and Cat are. Andy is such a handsome guy and I’m glad that he took the time to speak to you for a few minutes and acknowledged you and ROH. You looked beautiful yourself lady and you fit right in with everyone. Looks like you had a great time and I’m so happy for you. I’m glad you have such a nice friend to have helped make this happen for you.

I wish Cat Ommanney much success with her book and I have no doubt that it’s going to reach “Best Seller’ status. Cat has lived a colorful life only a select few have lived such an adventure. Congratulations Cat!

  96. Powell says:

Woo hoo Lynn!!! As the saying goes ” you are stomping with the big dogs” girl!!!! A huge congratulations. I wish I could give you a great big hug. I don’t know what we fans and your fellow bloggers would do without you. You have a great friend that took such great care of you. You looked very pretty. I am glad that you got to meet such great people and had a blast. I’m also glad that you spoke with Andy. Maybe this will make him realize how important you and all the bloggers are to Bravo. Hopefully he and the rest of the Bravo execs will have a serious discussion. It’s good to know that Cat has made some friends with the DC and NYC Housewives casts. Again congrats and you keep doing what you do!!!!
