I Hate Jill Zarin  Top Chef All Stars March 9 Five Chefs Left – Finals?

After a break in filming the season, the final five head to the Bahamas.  Nice location for the finals.

Ok lets be clear, this is not the finals when there are five chefs left, its also not “Top Chef All Stars” anymore when talented chefs like Jen, Angelo and Dale are gone while less talented chefs like Tiffany and inconsistent chefs like Carla, Mike and Antonia remain.  Just sayin’…

Top Chef All Stars is taking votes for their fan favorite all stars, For your consideration, I’d like to strongly suggest that you all vote for Tre!

Remember TRE!  Vote now, vote often, vote for TRE!  Ok vote for whoever you want to, as long as it’s Tre!

*** Spoiler Alert ***

Top Chef All Stars has filmed their reunion show and some have tweeted photos of the Chef’s sitting on the couches, if you’ve watched in the past, you pretty much know where the winner of Top Chef sits on the couches as they film the reunion…If you don’t want to know who wins, don’t look at the photo:

Back to the show.  The Quick fire Challenge was one of the best of the season.  Each of the remaining five chefs were to cook head to head with the winner of their season.  Richard and Antonia are both head to head with Stephanie, the winner of their season.  Richard’s talking head interview shows just how arrogant he has become as he tells viewers that he knows he was the best chef of his season.

Richard has been vocal about this before hinting that he thought that the producers of Top Chef felt it was time to have a female winner, and he lost out to Stephanie simply because she was female.  I don’t know what happened to Richard over the past few years but he has changed into an big pompous ass!

What happened to you Richard???

Richard, Antonia and Stephanie are given veal to work with.  Richard did beat Stephanie in the Quick Fire Challenge but Stephanie beat Antonia so both Richard and Stephanie were awarded $10,000 each for their wins.  All three judges are disappointed in Antonia’s dish.

Mike Isabella went up against one of the most talented chef’s in Top Chef history, Michael Voltaggio.  Mike tells viewers that he spent his time off practicing and training, each time we see Mike he looks a little  bit bigger, he must have been tasting more than cooking.  The two Mike’s were given duck to prepare and while the judges enjoyed both Mike’s dishes, Padma voted for Voltaggio but the other two judged preferred Mike Isabella’s dish and he goes home with the $10,000 in this head to head challenge.

Tiffany went up against last season’s winner, Kevin Sbraga, another controversial winner, Kevin beat Angelo as Angelo was fighting off a virus in Hong Kong and unable to get out of bed for several days during the finale filming.  There is no way of knowing if Angelo would have won had he not been ill but tonight it is Kevin and Tiffany head to head. While the judges like both dishes but Tiffany beat Kevin with her pork dish.

Carla and Hosea are given lamb to prepare, Hosea apparently still doesn’t feel confident as a Top Chef, he felt as though he had something to prove.  As Carla tells us that she is having problems with the equipment, she admits that Hosea would really need to mess up for her to win this one.  No contest, Hosea beats Carla and goes home with a  free trip the Bahamas and $10,000.

With Top Chef producers $50,000 poorer, the Chef’s head over to their lovely suite at the Atlantis.  If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it, paradise and heaven all rolled into one.

The Elimination Challenge as explained by Padma includes the chef’s having 2 ½ hours to prep their dishes off site, then they will have one hour to complete their dish on site at a celebration dinner in honor of the Bahamas’ festival Royalty.

After the prep is complete, the chefs are transported on site and step out of their vehicle and right into a party with the locals dancing in the streets.  The appearance of Padma and Tom Colicchio puts an end to the dancing and party atmosphere as they’re sent into the small kitchen to finalize their dishes.

As Antonia drops some Plantains into the deep fryer, the one next to where she is working bursts into flames, as Richard so astutely pointed out, 35 gallons of oil on fire is not a good thing.  The fire protection systems were set off and completely contaminated all of the food.

Chef Tom Colicchio explains to the chefs that the fire protection systems contaminated all of the food in the kitchen and they will have to start from scratch, prepare their dishes from the beginning and their original ingredients will be made available to them.  However, they’re not locked into the same dish, they do have the option to make anything they want to make.

Richard chooses this catastrophe to annoy Antonia who cannot decide whether or not to change her dish or prepare the same dish she originally planned on, Richard tells us that he is purposely trying to get into Antonia’s head, he explains that she is a tough competitor and is using this to try to throw her off her game.  Richard has absolutely no shame this season, he is a snake and rather than taking a hint from past winners, who have values and courtesy and respect for his fellow chef’s (ala the Voltaggio brothers) Richard is trying to play head games with his fellow contestants.  I have lost all respect for Richard Blaise and while he may very well be the best chef left, he does not deserve to be Top Chef because of his attitude and his behavior!  That’s my opinion.

Antonia saw right through Richard and told him, “Don’t mess with me please”.  I think she knew what Richard was doing and hopefully she didn’t let it phase her.

The fire really threw the chef’s off their game for a while, with the exception of Mike who, after initially squirming just a bit, seemed happy to have a second chance to prepare his dish.

Antonia prepared shrimp with grits, not her original dish, and it included “mystery meat” at the bottom that the judges couldn’t identify.  Antonia was in the bottom three.

Tiffany’s dish was roasted pork with dirty rice, the judges felt it was ok but too simple. Tiffany was in the bottom three.

Richard braised a leg of lamb and the judges really enjoyed it, he must have been channeling Marcel because I saw some type of foam on Richard’s dish.  Richard will not be going home tonight.

Mike prepared a chicken dish with a lobster hash and the judges raved about the flavors, sauce and overall preparation.  Mike won this challenge.  He will be going onto the finals, even though they called tonight the finals?

Finally, Carla prepared a pork dish that was inconsistently cooked, judge Gail Simmons portion was raw in the center.  She knew that portions of it were raw so I’m a bit confused why she didn’t make the correction, she told viewers she was going to have to “MacGyver” it, yet it still went out raw.  They called Carla’s efforts “creative” but raw pork will make you sick and it will get you sent home almost every time.

Carla’s trip to the Bahamas is over.

There was no sign of Anthony Bourdain tonight, instead Chef Eric Ripert, Gail Simmons, Padma, and Tom judged the food along with the King of the Bahamas, who reminded us, “It’s Better In The Bahamas”!  I have to agree!

Just four chef’s left, you can view Carla’s (and all the eliminated chefs) exit video here:

Real Housewives of DC

I was really hoping to avoid this story but it has gotten so good, I have to include it today.

Michaele Salahi signed up for Celebrity Rehab, her addiction was unknown but apparently was not only unknown but non-existent.  She was kicked off the show after only days when Dr. Drew was unable to find any addiction.  Is this woman completely stupid?  She never thought to pop a couple of Vicodin or fire up a blunt before checking into Celebrity Rehab so that she would test positive for something?

But worse than that, Dr. Drew did a complete medical check up on this woman including a neurological exam and was unable to find any evidence that Michaele Salahi has Multiple Sclerosis.  This is not even funny!  The Real Housewives of DC cast members Lynda, Mary and Cat all disputed this claim that Michaele Salahi suffered from MS and they took some heat for that.  Once again, even when confronted with absolute proof of their lies, the Salahi’s continue on with their farce.  This is a slap in the face to anyone who suffers from this horrible condition, not to mention families of victims of this horrible disease who watch their loved ones suffering.  The Salahi’s are trash, they’re lowest of the low!  Someday here’s hoping that karma will get them too.

While Michaele was filming Celebrity Rehab one of her fellow cast, Michael Lohan, father of Lindsay had agreed to allow Michaele’s husband Tariq to stay in his apartment to be close to his wife.  We all know Tariq can’t let Michaele out of his sight for more than a few minutes.

Apparently the agreement was for Tariq to pay Michael Lohan $2,500.00 but, surprise, no payment was made.  Michael Lohan left the filming of Rehab to go and throw Tariq out of his home.  TMZ has film, it is awesome!  Watch Tariq lie more and more about the whole situation:

  1. MickeyMouth says:

Tareq and Michael Lohan. Reality famewhore match made in heaven.

    • quincyil says:

Let Tariq sue the good doctor. I’m sure the television show has a battery of lawyers who will do an autopsy of Michaele and Tariq if he files too.

Does Tareq know that the defendents have depositions? He won’t be allowed to skirt around answers. They look into everything. If Tariqu says that she has emotional issues, the defendents’ lawyers will go after all of her previous medical records and they will have their own doctors examine her.

      It won’t be pretty.

      • Rhetorica says:

Quincy, this is off topic, but did u have a chance to look @ the house on BEA & see if it’s Madison’s on MDL?

  2. Bobbi says:

“I have lost all respect for Richard Blaise and while he may very well be the best chef left, he does not deserve to be Top Chef because of his attitude and his behavior! That’s my opinion.”

Could not agree with you more, Lynn! I do not like the person he’s become. I know Gail tried to explain it away last week, implying he’s a tortured soul beating himself up. There might be an element of that involved, but he has become a nasty person. It will really disappoint me if he takes the title. As things stand now, I’m rooting for Antonia!

  3. Error404 says:

I have to completely disagree with dr drew here… She’s addicted to lying, she’s addicted to fame, she’s addicted to terique, she’s addicted to negative attention, etc… If ms doesn’t need therapy, who does?

    • Noreen says:

I was thinking the same thing. It may not be right for this show, but this woman needs serious help. I think the fame seeking and lying are her biggest problems. If she had children, she be making up diseases for them too for more attention.

      • twoile says:

Sociopathology has no cure……..character flaw. With addiction of any type, ETOH, Drugs, Shopping, Hoarding, Eating etc one must see 4 themselves that they need help (acknowledgement) that is the only route to effective trmt. There are several types of trmt available all can be effective if received…..Robert Downney Jr comes 2 mind he was in Rehab trmt several times & relapsed, is currently doing very well. “You can lead a horse 2 water but you can’t make him drink”. The disease of addiction is fraught with relapse/recovery, a difficult road 4 both the addict & those who care 4 the addict, it is a family disease, be it the family of origin or choice the struggle is the same. Blessings 2 all. Jeanne

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

Oh I absolutely agree- but she’s not addicted to drugs. And that is what his show is all- oh and why his guests receive $250K 😉

      • Noreen says:

I think that’s what prosecutors call “motive.” 🙂

        • Nancy says:

Isn’t it “strange” that addicts that have $ get paid to go into rehab but the addicts that are truly broke have to pay (and treatment is very expensive) themselves but can’t so they don’t get the help they so desperately need.
          Way to go Dr Drew!

    • Powell says:

I totally agree. But shouldn’t she be going to a therapist right there in VA? But you don’t get $200k, 16 minutes of fame, to be on the red carpet and to job knob with real celebs.

  4. Imseasquared says:

I mentioned this on yesterday’s post but it was also noted on TMZ or Radaronline (can’t remember which one) that now Tareq is suing Celebrity Rehab for Michaele’s illegal firing from the show. Probably the best fallout from all of this is that all other reality shows will hopefully wiseup and treat these idiots like the toxic fools they are and NEVER offer them any more shows or else have to deal with Tareq and his blowhard law suits

  5. Olivia says:

Couldn’t agree more with the pathetic attempts by the Salahi’s to make themselves viable.

However, there is some question for me about Dr. Drew revealing the medical tests performed upon Michele. Has he never heard of the HIPPA law that protects patients from the revelations concerning their medical treatments?

As a oath taking physician he should know better. How can anyone take him seriously after this? Whether or not Michele Salahi is suffering from MS is not for him to reveal. It is none of our business.

She may be a lying fool but her medical records should remain private. There are laws to guard against this and Dr. Drew has just shown he is no more credible than any other huckster looking to boost ratings.

I doubt she agreed to him making her condition, or lackthereof, a public matter. Dr. Drew is not to be trusted.

    • Noreen says:

Good point. Is saying someone is not sick or not an addict a violation? Maybe the show had the contestants sign a release regarding their findings?

      • quincyil says:

I think the people on the show have to sign wavers. In “Thintervention,” there was a physicians that talked about all of the contestants health issues.

I think the Salahis live in Bubbleworld. They are not connected to reality.

        • butterisafruit says:

Right Quincy, they do sign wavers. I follow this show all the time. Dr Drew said he once tried to do a Rehab show with non celebs and they were very reluctant because of the public disclosures. It wasn’t only the cameras but having their medical and family busn exposed for all. The Salahis knew all this going in.

          • Olivia says:

Which merely underscores their combined stupidity! Signing a consent form that allows Dr. Drew to reveal their medical conditions?

Does it getting anymore ignorant than this? And what if this “physical” exam showed her suffering from a terminal disease? Would he have felt the “need” to reveal that as well?

            • butterisafruit says:

Olivia, from what I’ve seen, he probably would. He takes on the entire medical case file. And a lot of these “B” listed celebrities do have pre exhisting condidtions and you do hear about it. Many are diagnosed with new conditions on the program. Especially neurological. And it’s all out in the open.

          • quincyil says:

Michaele and Tareq are unusual in that they work together in tadem. Normally, you cross paths with dilutional people they are alone. These two feed off each other. It raises the bar to a new leve.

It seems that the DC housewives are infatuated with Michale from the link given by Terry Aley concerning the Cat O booksigning. Too bad for them. They give her power when they address her issues.

If you want to come out ahead when dealing with people like this, you ignore them and let the authorities deal with them.

            • Powell says:

Remember on DC Housewives when Linda and Mary both say they knew Michele before she married Tarique, that he changed her, she didn’t use to be this way? I think she is basically in an emotionally abusive relationship and she doesn’t know or is too scared to get out. I don’t recall hearing about any female celeb, not that she is a celeb, that did a reality show and her husband tagged along to be as close by as possible. Tarique is very controlling.

        • HD says:

I agree, Quincy. A wavier more than likely is signed that says something like your medical condition may or may not be discussed on live TV.

I have seen a Reality TV contract and they pretty much cover EVERYTHING. I have even seen where if you die you family cannot sue the network. This is not Dr. Drew’s first time at the rodeo.

          • quincyil says:

The lawyers will do an autopsy on Michaele’s entire excitence. It won’t be pretty.

Plus, do we believe Tareq when he says he has talked to his lawyers? I bet he talked to my Harvey, who is a pooka.

            • HD says:

I know you have a medical background so maybe I am misunderstanding. Why do you keep saying autospy?

              • HD says:

                *autopsy

                • quincyil says:

Because they dissect your entire existence. You make a claim against someone and their lawyers will ask for every document and examine every medical test from every medical record in your medical history. They even go over your slides if you had tissue samples taken at some time.

If you say it caused stress, that opens up your contact with mental health professionals. I know for a fact this happens. The defendent has the right to know if your distress was there before the incident.

If Tareq were to file saying this affected his life, they can go into his life for their defense.

                  Depositions never end.

              • Powell says:

Yeah remember when he said the FBI was investigating the polo equipment theft? Mary and Rich Anon said the FaceBook Investigation. And Michela has MS. Linda said Michela Salahi. He is such a liar.

      • Olivia says:

She is “addicted” to fame. The only difference between her and the “reality stars” that populate these shows is that she is even dumber than the norm.

Before they “crashed” a WH party had anyone heard of them before? She is no different than Teresa Guidice, Danielle Staub, or any of those other “stars” who have been shown to have lied repeatedly about themselves only to end up being exposed for the liars they are.

What the Salahi’s lack is the “likability factor” that some of the others rely upon to forge their way to “stardom”. Some of these women from the Miami franchise are being exposed to having had relationships with men who are deeply involved in the drug enterprise.

It is up to the viewer to determine which “lie” is worse.

        • butterisafruit says:

Right I didn’t have a clue who they were. And we all know about them now.

        • Sha2000 says:

I get what you are saying about HIPPA but that’s to protect a patients privacy regarding their medical condition…if there was no medical condition (in this case found to be free of MS) I would question that HIPPA even applies. It’s like suing a doctor for saying “she’s perfectly healthy”. Any judge I would think would throw that out of court. My husband has had extensive training in HIPPA regulations, I’ll have to ask him if saying a person does not have a disease is in violation.
Anyway, her husband told TMZ her problem was “chocolate addiction” so now he’s back to MS BS???

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

I am the HIPPA Officer at the medspa practices I oversee.

Even if there is no disease, it illegal- as in Federal law- to reveal anything about a patient.

Our patients are coming in for Laser hair Removal and our receptionists are instructed not to even verify their appointments times with anyone but them- so no mom calling to find out when it is (if they’re over 18), no boyfriend or husband etc. It is truly a privacy law.

Michaela HAD to have signed a waiver.

            • Sha2000 says:

Yes it is a privacy law, my husband is not in the medical field but has to learn privacy laws. I guess maybe she did sign a waiver…would think so if it all was to be aired right?

            • VAgirl says:

I’m sure she had to sign a waiver, too. But to play devil’s advocate here, would Dr. Drew be violating HIPPA since Michaela had already announced to the viewing public she has MS? Probably so, but I would still see the Salahi’s having a hard time winning a law suit about it.

            • Powell says:

Thanks for that info. I read the disclosure when I go to the doctor and I understand it but you made it much simpler.

          • HD says:

Wait…I thought that was a joke. Tareq really said Michale was addicted to chocolate? Are you serious?

          • Nancy says:

A doctor can’t say ANYTHING about his/her patient.

    • klmh says:

There is no definitive test prove to disprove Multiple Sclerosis:

      http://www.guide4living.com/multiple-sclerosis/diagnosis.htm

You have to wonder if they did an MRI though:

      http://www.guide4living.com/multiple-sclerosis/mri.htm

This certainly isn’t a routine test. As wacky as Michaele is, someone may have given her that diagnosis. Lord knows there are enough cracker/piss poor Dr’s out there to suit your disease to your needs or visa versa.
I certainly don’t care for Michaele, but Dr. Drew overstepped his bounds, jmo.

      • Nancy says:

Remember they gave Denise Rodman an MRI. (The results weren’t good by the way.) The sad thing is he is STILL drinking.

      • JKW says:

KLMH is correct. Even with an MRI unless the lesions are active they would not show up. I would be very leery to say someone didn’t have MS. It is very difficult to diagnose since there are so many different symptoms. Basically you rule out other diseases until you see something on the MRI or decide it’s MS.

        • Rabble Rouser says:

I’m guessing that part of his conclusion could have been based on that she did not bring medication used to treat MS along with her when she checked in or list them.

      • klmh says:

He might not have addressed her MS issue. Post and official quote below.

    • kbinldo says:

The show must have the participants waive their HIPPA rights; otherwise, there would be no show.

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

notice he never said she doesnt have it he just said she was fine it would be like taking test and my diabeties doesnt come up
because im on 14 different meds for that and a variety of things but my test always come up very good
because i take care of myself better now and i take all my meds
it still doesnt mean i no longer have diabeties
if she really has ms like she claims i can see her getting worried missing her meds
dr drew saying she is fine isnt the same as saying as a fact she doesnt have MS

  6. quincyil says:

Jill Zarin is a close friend of Lohan BTW…. He is a member of her circle of people.

  7. Jen says:

When Richard said I hate all my food I almost threw up- what a pompous ass. I liked him but not so much anymore…. I think he is desperate to make up for losing before and he is playing fake humble …… I was hoping for Carla, now Mike I

  8. HD says:

I have to say, regarding Richard, his attitude does not bother me at all. He is playing the game and obviously playing well as he is one of the top 4 left and marked as the one to beat. Not sure if he will win though. Might be a tight race to the finish. Tiffani will be out I think. It will be between Richard, Mike and Antonia.

Carla-I wish she would have won!

Michale Salihi-Crazy. She needs mental help. I don’t know if there is a show for that but she would be the #1 contestant.

    • quincyil says:

I never knew there was a world of celebrity chefs before I read Lynn’s blog. I really don’t care about food. When I dated my husband, he wanted took me to a French restaunt on the 95th floor of the John Hancock in Chicago. I could not eat the food. They put sauce on a fish with a head. He ate me food. I drank the water.

I would rather shovel manure than go to a fancy restaurant.

      • HD says:

Dang, Quincy. Shovel manure? 5 Star restaurant? I’ll take restaurant for 100 Alex. 🙂

For real, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I watch the Food Network all the time so I am pretty familiar with a lot of the “celeb” chefs and I would love, love, love to eat their food any day of the week. However, similiar to you some things I just can’t stomach.

Who is that chef (judge) that is on Top Chef that goes around the world eating pig behind with sauce on it? I don’t know how he does it. I can’t even watch that show I get so grossed out. Also that bald guy who eats damn near everything in the world. I just do not have the stomach for it. When it comes to that type of food, I can’t do it. Different cultures eat different things and I know I would totally offend someone.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

I will eat just about anything put in front of me except beets. pig behind? bring it.

          • Sha2000 says:

Lol! I LOVE beets & so does my 8 year old, in her dna for sure. Pig butt, not so fast.

            • Sha2000 says:

              “Who is that chef (judge)”

              Anthony Bordain…he’s great!
I like him but can’t watch sometimes. He sat down with an Eskimo (? I think) family and ate slaughted seal raw on their kitchen floor, bloodiest most discussing thing I ever saw. He also ate dung cooked in the ground although he did have a hard time with that. OTHERWISE, lol I like him & his show.
              Check him out:
              http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Anthony_Bourdain

              • Sha2000 says:

???? What kind of typo is that???
                I meant disgusting…Auto correct sucks!

                • HD says:

Yep. That’s his name. Dung? Okay. There are just some things I cannot do.

                  • Sha2000 says:

Believe me the raw seal was worse. Have you seen the movie “Kill Bill”? Less blood in that movie than when they ate that raw seal.

              • Rabble Rouser says:

I know from your posts that you are a culturally sensitive and thoughtful person which is the only reason I am mentioning it.

I don’t know if in America has a different meaning when people are talking about those from Alaska, but in Canada the word “Eskimo” is considered to be a derogatory. The word “Inuit” is more commonly used.

Please don’ think I feel you were being offensive, I just thought that maybe had not have heard that POV before being from the US

            • Nancy says:

Beet’s help you to not get cancer. Big time.

LOL @ Bring it! Why did I hear Charlie Sheen in my head? Winning!

I do attempt to at least try everything once. But if it is staring back at me I can’t do it. Once I watched Deadliest Catch and saw the crabs crawling all around like huge spiders and I didn’t eat them for about 6 months. But they are so damn good I had to eat them again. LOL!

            • OneMoreInBoston says:

I remember when I first came to FLA, a friend tried to turn me on to crawfish. I also referred to them as roaches of the sea, to which she flipped out! LOL It was so much work for so little pay. Give me crab legs and lobster tails anyday.

            • Powell says:

What!!! When I see those crabs on Deadliest Catch it makes me crave crabs. Love them!!!!!

Richard’s attitude doesn’t bother me either, I think he got robbed in his season, the same way Angelo got robbed in his and that Stephan got robbed by Hose (my husband turned his back on the show after that) .

I think Tre is handsome and talented- but my heart is with Fabio.

  9. Olivia says:

As I see it, the Salahi’s were known to the public by their “WH party crashing” before the series aired. We already had an idea of how they conducted their lives prior to the introduction on the show itself so we had already formed some opinion about them.

The usual pattern of getting to know these people is following the first episodes as their personalities begin to emerge. So the bias against them, as say the other cast members, had already been formed.

Would we have found Sonja so “adorable” had we known in advance that she was looking for a man to “f*ck” her or would we have been appalled at her choice of words and behavior? Had we known in advance that Teresa Guidice was a fraud and a deadbeat to the tune of 11 million dollars would she have found so many willing to overlook her transgressions? Or the fact that 3 of the women currently on the Miami series were either married to or dating men who are serving time for big time drug dealing?

The franchise usually allows the viewers time to establish a “relationship” with the “star” before the juicy bits start to come out. The Salahi’s were too well known by the time the series started to have worked up a “fanbase” who would defend them against the revelations of their questionable life.

For me, this is the only difference between them and some of the hypocrites who were eventually exposed for behaving with almost the same similarities. They were infamous before going in while some of the others achieved the same infamy as the series unfolded.

As odious as they are, are they any different than LuAnn who thinks she can sing and act? The all share the same gene which is “stardom” without the talent.

I so agree Sha! Rhetorica have you thought about trying alternative methods? For your issue, acupuncture and Chinese herbs would work wonders. Acupuncture works with the body to heal it instead of just masking the pain with drugs.

My daughter had serious knee surgery and did her recovery with my acupuncture doctor and my goodness…her healing went swiftly and so much less pain. It helps the body strengthen the effected area. It also helped her with anxiety and other residual things after having surgery.

Hope you look into it….and blessings for your recovery!!

Hi! I’m well thanks for asking. I got a call from a friend who asked to bring over my friend who passed-her mom. We had tea & talked & shared stories so it was a good day. She returns to Japan next week so I’m happy I’ve gotten more time with her today. How are you today Rhetorica?

          • Rhetorica says:

I’m glad you had a good day. Laughing about stories of loved ones who are gone keeps them here. My day was good. Visited with my husband when he got home & talked to my kids!

            • Sha2000 says:

It was a very good day. She speaks only Japanese and I only speak English & a friend translated, but we are all so close now after going through the loss of her dear daughter & our sweet friend. We feel we all understand each other well. I will miss her when she returns; she holds the answers to all the questions I have about my friend that she herself never got around yet to telling me. All the childhood stories. We are planning to go for ice cream with all the kids this weekend; I’m going to take pictures with all of us but especially of her & her grandchildren. I want to frame it present to her before she leaves, so she can look at a picture and see her grandchildren’s happiness from this trip, instead remembering their sadness from the loss of their mom. I’m glad you had a good day with your family. My husband got home early & was happy to find our little tea party…he was so happy to find our friends mom came to visit. And my kids want to know whats so special about this blog, lol.

              Have a great evening!

  13. Powell says:

Wow!!!!! Those Salahi’s have got some balls to totally lie about any and everything, even about having a crippling disease. Tareq can go ahead and have his lawyer file a no basis claim and VH1’s legal counsel may even sue them, not that they “have a pot to piss in, nor a window to throw it out of.” Before DC Housewives was even close to premiering I sent Andy an email pleading with him to have some influence and not have the Salahi’s be a part of the show. The whole country was appalled at the Salah’s for crashing the White House and living in the DMV area we were even more so. In their case karma is not definitely a bi**h. They will do anything for money, status, and fame.

  15. WindyCityWondering says:

We first learned of the Salahis because of their behavior regarding the White House – I watched the hearing because I am concerned about access to the President! Bravo was filming the incident and IIRC, there was some legal concerns and thoughts on actually showing these nutjobs on their show. There are waivers/tests/evaluations to be considered for Celebrity Rehab and these would have been done before filming started. Dr. Drew says she has numerous issues. Did he actually say she doesn’t have MS or did he just say there is no addiction to treat? The stress from the WH or MS was not specifically detailed and seems like T&M’s stretched this to be the reason for her being on the show.
It will get very messy if they pursue a lawsuit and as Quincy said – it will open the doors to many things they may not want to be public knowledge. If she doesn’t have MS – she should rot in hell. I laugh that Tarq wants to expose reality shows because it will further expose the scams they are trying to pull!

    • quincyil says:

I really don’t care about reality stars for the most part, but Tareq and Michaele get my dander up because they didn’t give a damn about the many good people who were fired over their White House escapade.

I agree that it’s a waste of effort to sue people like the Salahis, the Curtains, and the Giudices though. They won’t pay the settlements. You can follow them around for the rest of your life or try to ignore them.

I just decided to start a movement for debtors prisons for reality stars from Bravo. It could be a new reality show where we can show Teresa scrubbing floors on her knees, and Tariq picking grapes with the hot sun beating down on his head. Lynn curtain can go to work in a tanning company mixing the solutions to tan the leather for her fancy fuffs. The acid solution tans the workers BTW…toxic stuff.

People do this kind of work every day in order to make a living and pay their bills. Why should reality stars get a pass?

      • skogsstig says:

Fabulous idea, Quincy! Got any ideas for a job for Slade Slime?

        • quincyil says:

That’s tough because Slade is an expert at doing nothing. I think Slade loves to drive around Southern California in fancy cars so let’s make him shovel hot tar into pot holes in the blazing California sun with traffic whizzing by him. We won’t let him wear a hat or sunscreen. Maybe, he should take off his shirt so his back can be really tan and he won’t have to get a fake tan in a sock.

          Hmmmm…. again… difficult…

Russell Armstrong would have to go into a coal mine. He is a venture capitalist who funds energy companies. Our nation has so much coal and someone needs to mine it. I hope he woud be inspired to find a way to burn it cleanly and do something positive with his life.

I’d put Taylor in a hot dog suit and have her hand out flyers for a hot dog joint in West Hollywood. She likes to be the center of attraction and she would draw a crowd.

        • Powell says:

You would think so wouldn’t you. But the White House also had security breaches during I believe Clinton & George W administrations. So apparently security hasn’t learned from past mistakes.

          • DJ Fruit Loops says:

Love your recap of Top Chef, Lynn! Sadly, I have to agree, for the most part, about Richard Blais… He seems a bit desperate, and is not handling it too well.
Here’s who I miss: Fabio, Carla, Angelo, Tre – and, to my surprise, Dale. 🙂
Just wish I could taste the food – or at least have “scratch and sniff” TV.

Here’s another great blog on TC, with photos and wonderfully funny, snarky, talk bubbles: http://www.minxeats.com/

The Salahis have joined Charlie Sheen on my ignore list. JZ is heading in that direction, too…

  17. WindyCityWondering says:

One look at the raw pork and we all knew Carla was gone. Heck when she threw it in the deep fryer I was WTH is she thinking? Will miss her personality but she has never had the consistancy in dishes that a Top Chef needs to win. I think she will take the fan favorite prize and I expect to see her on a network cooking show next year.
As for Richard, his real life is definately impacting his Top Chef life – it was sad to hear him say he hates everything he makes – while passion doesn’t make you a better chef at least it should be one of the reasons why you are a chef. And he just doesn’t do arrogant and snarky very well!
At this point, we are all missing our favorites but the field that is left is what we have to choose from – IMO, Antonia has been rock steady (expect for last night and I hope she has that out of her system) and knows her strengths/weaknesses and deserves to take it all. I loved when she cooked the Jimmy Fallon dish because she asked for advice, took it and showed she will come out of her comfort zone without getting all chickeny without a head.

  18. Olivia says:

What Bravo has done is offer up a group of women who are basically nothing more that what my father would have referred to as “bimbos”. Lacking class, a moral center, and an overwhelming desire to get ahead by displaying their body parts and calling themselves “hot” as they pump themselves up with toxins to maintain youth.

Bravo continues to catapult these talentless pseudo celebs into the spotlight knowing full well they come with some pretty serious baggage while offering them a platform to sell their dubious products along the way. So far we have been treated to porn stars, frauds, debtors, DUIs, lousy parenting, golddiggers, and substance abusers.

And the men aren’t much to write home about either. Gigolos, scammers, deadbeats, and cheaters. What’s to emulate or envy out of this bunch?

This idiots offer themselves up to display then wonder why their behavior invites criticism. Ramona refused to have her picture taken with Danielle but had no problem with being seen with Tamra. I fail to see the distinction but that’s just me.

Can’t abide the Salahi’s but I also fail to see much difference in their behavior when measured against the others who seek the same attention. At least to our knowledge they have yet to make a sex tape, been arrested for drunken driving, or have physically attacked another castmate in full view of the audience. Their basic crime seems to be trying to impress us with their “wealth and prestige” that does not exist and they attempted to pull that off by crashing the WH party. Teresa and Joe anyone?

Stacked up against the behavior of other “Housewives” this may seem tame by comparison. Their ability to lie on camera is no more repugnant than what these other women are achieving and receiving far less outrage in the meantime.

The Salahis, IMHO, are no more or no less repulsive than many of the others who more or less go untouched for behaving in the same fashion. Their delusions are ridiculous but are they anymore delusional than Jill Zarin’s? Or Kelly? Or that other “icon” Kim Richards?

    • quincyil says:

I don’t know if Jill Zarin going after Simon van Kempen’s job when she told the post that he was a falling down drunk or that that photo of Alex was spread eagle in the hallway of her husband’s hotel cause him to be fired from his hotel position, but there were very public attacks on his position as manager of the Hotel Chandlier. There are claims that Jill Zarin planted the rumors that Alex would be fired too. I think Jill Zarin can be very vindictive and when she is angry she goes for the jugular.

Kelly is delutional and you can see her be relentless in attacking Bethenny. You don’t pick on the pregnant girl. I don’t care what your issues with her are.

Kim Richards reacted when attacked. She seemed to want to get along. I think she has issues, but I would not put her in the same category as Jill Zarin. Jill Zarin has anger issues. She is jealous and bitingly cruel. The Richards sisters have mean come backs, but you don’t see them going into a fight prepared for battle like Jill Zarin is prepared.

I am so disappointed that Sonja isn’t fun and funny. I thought that we were going to have a good time with her. Cindy Barstop seems ok. I hope she can survive these women. Alex, ignore Jill Zarin and try to have a good time. We will keep the list of Jill’s misdeeds here are IHJZ. You don’t need to worry about that.

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

why do u think Sonja wont be funny and fun she seemed to be all last season
is it the whole Thug in a cocktail dress thing

        • quincyil says:

She seems to be argumentative in the previews on bravotv.com The videos there are worth a look if you have time. She also is shown using foul language. I loved her whit and humor last season.

    • HD says:

For me, what makes the Salahi’s just sickening or even more sickening than the others is that you are lying about an illness. You just don’t do stuff like that when people are trying struggling with MS every day. And then to use your likeness and the fact that you have this dis-ease to collect contributions. Who does that? That is just horrible.

I can excuse and forgive a lot of things but faking sickness (serious illness) that people are truly truly fighting with that is just the bottom of the barrel low to me. I can forgive Kelly’s melt down, I can forgive Kim’s manipulating ways, etc. but when you start lying about being sick and I have watched family members truly struggle with illness (not MS but sickness nonetheless) I just cannot forgive that and it is so low. And then to lie so damn bad you mock people that are fighting adddictions daily so you can get a paycheck and a little fame. That is a very disgusting, sick, low and pathetic person.

      • Olivia says:

I’m not saying that the Salahi’s aren’t despicable. They are.

But those women like Laurie Waring and Danielle Staub have done an equal amount of damage to their own children as well. Laurie used Josh’s problems as part of her storyline in her own bid for sympathy. His issues should have remained private and not for the consumption of the audience.

Danielle’s behavior, via her sex tapes, phone sex, affiliation with Danny Pro, along with a host of other eyebrow raising acts, had to have played a large role in how those kids dealt with it from their own school aged peers. Tamra declaring she wanted a divorce while on camera had to have had some impact on how her children were left to deal with these actions. Simon is still their father after all. Camille’s interview with Howard Stern about Kelsey possible being a “cross dresser” certainly was not in the interest of her children. One can only imagine the reaction of Sonja’s 10 yr old when hearing Mommy referring her need of a man to “f*ck” her as hurtful. And one cannot dismiss Teresa table flipping and calling another woman a c*nt on camera serves a purpose.

No question that the Salahi’s are horrid people. But they seem to be traveling in good company when referring to the issues that surround the others.

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

no one yet knows that she doesnt have MS the last two days people have written on the blog saying there is no test that would prove she doesnt have it yet people are taking a quote that Dr Drew said and using THAT as proof and even then in the qoute he never says she doesnt have it

    • PJ says:

Well put and I agree with you. I don’t really care about the Salahis, but I agree that they aren’t any worse than what I’ve seen of Teresa, Tamara, Vicki, Jill, Kelly, Luann, Taylor, and Kyle. These people are, in my opinion, horrible human beings and the more you see them on camera the more you dislike them. The Salahis are sweethearts by comparison.

The previews of NY look like we will have an even more delusional Kelly, Luann trying to be the manners police while having the worst kind of manners herself, Sonja joining the dark side.

Am I the only one who thinks that Kelly being allowed to be on national TV is just wrong? I think Charlie Sheen should join her they are a matched set.

    • Powell says:

The Salahi’s are the most ridiculous. They breached White House security. That is a big deal and they should have suffered serious consequences. They cost the social secretary her job. Bankruptcies, foreclosuers, having bratty kids and sleeping with married men pale by comparison.

      • LavaLady says:

I was so annoyed when on the DC reunion, Michaela said that no one lost their job over the gate crashing, shaking her blonde head like she was so innocent of everything.

      • PJ says:

Let’s face it Bravo knows how to pick em.

I’m no fan of the Salahi’s and what they did was wrong; but if there was something to prosecute them for don’t you think they would have been?

I happen to think that these other things you mentioned are as bad as what the Salahi’s did. I don’t agree that they pale by comparison.

        • Powell says:

Well as DJ Fruit Loops said you can’t get 10 people in this country to agree and I believe that goes for the investigation that was done on the Hill. The Salahi’s could have been convicted of some crime. They just chose not to.

    • Brigid A. says:

Kim Richards is a delusional icon? Am I missing something? Perhaps my “critical thinking” skills are deficient.

      • VincenzoNewYork says:

@Brigid A: I do recall that Kim Richards was a well known and talented actress during her golden years as a child star. 19. Adgirl says:

Carlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Boo hoo! Goodbye, Hootie Hoo!
We have all come to love Carla. That fine woman never said anything negative about anyone, even in the privacy of her talking heads. A real class act.
I noticed Carla has a catering company. I think her professional cooking life makes competing on Top Chef more difficult than for someone who works in a restaurant.

Richard is an ass. It’s obnoxious that he acts like he should get the award now. However, all the judges have said how complex and lovely his food is, which has raised his expectations that he is much better than the other chefs!
Richard said his wife is extremely competitive (more so than he is) I think he is incredibly insecure & scared of losing. His restaurant Flip crashed after only 6 months. If he doesn’t win TC All Stars he might have a mini breakdown.

p.s. – I read after his last appearance on Top Chef 2008 his old girlfriend filed for child support that he never paid for their now adult daughter. It infuriated her that he kept calling his new baby his “first” first child. He never visited his now adult child. He disappeared. yuck.

  20. Adgirl says:

Why couldn’t Dr Drew treat Michaele’s eating disorder? Isn’t that obsessive/addictive behavior too? That way we could have listened to her lies for a few weeks.

Did Dr Drew state he didn’t find MS or is that just leaked info? Can’t sue over leaks.

    • LavaLady says:

There is an article on Reality Tea’s website, page 2, that gives the info on Dr. Drew, Tareq and Michaela. Sorry, I would post the link, but I don’t kn0w how to.

    • klmh says:

I don’t think it was a leak. I’ll try to find the article I read it in though.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

The network announcement of why she is leaving says no MS. And lol the lawsuit by T&M is invoking the Americans with Disability Act…. WTH? Do these two sit around brainstorming ways to construct lawsuits for profit? They will never go away and never stop trying because they have no shame!

    • klmh says:

      Adgirl:

I don’t think she has admitted that any of those things affects her. I would imagine you would have to recognize the problem before you can accept a remedy.

    • FlowerPower says:

One article that I read said she wanted help from Dr. Drew for her MS because it flared after the White House incident, but the exams she had done for the show indicated she was “fine.”

I read that to mean that she wasn’t flaring, not that she didn’t necessarily have MS.

      http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/03/09/michaele-salahi-celebrity-rehab/

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

exactly what i took it to mean

      • jillz68 says:

As someone WITH MS, whether or not you are flaring the lesions show up on the MRI (lesions are scars from past inflammation). You CAN prove that one doesn’t have MS. There are no lesions on the brain or spine and no Obands in the spinal fluid.

    • Powell says:

She would jab to admit she has an eating disorder right? According to what she told Linda, she doesn’t have an eating disorder.

      • DJ Fruit Loops says:

and i dont think he would treat an eating disorder on a show that is about recovering drug addicts
now if she is addicted to booze that would have been ok

  21. viki55 says:

    Hi all:)
If you just can’t get enough Tre, this is a fun clip! He has such a great smile.
    http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef/roadtrip
I will miss Carla but she did it to herself. Why she has to try doing stuff that she has never done before when it’s her normal cooking style that wins is beyond me.

  22. NormaJean says:

The problem with saying that Michaele didn’t test positive for MS is that there is NO test for MS. A person is diagnosed with MS because other things are ruled out for our symptoms, like Lupus or Lyme. MS can be what’s called Relapsing/Remitting which basically means that you’ll have an outbreak of symptoms that can last an hour, a day, a week, etc and then just disappear until the next time.

Could she have MS? Sure. Could she be lying? Sure. Could she have been misdiagnosed years ago? Sure. But according to the Mayo Clinic…this is no test that will difinitively diagnose MS.

    • klmh says:

I agree, but an MRI can show scaring from the disease. Posted upthread:

      http://www.guide4living.com/multiple-sclerosis/mri.htm

      • NormaJean says:

Agreed, an MRI can show scarring that could be associated with MS. However, even with every available imaging test that exists, the best Dr Drew could say is that he could find no evidence that she has MS. If he says she tested negative for MS than he’s mis-stating the facts. Also, he’s neither a psychiatrist or a neurologist, so he’s not qualified to diagnose MS.

I was just pointing this out because some posters yesterday seemed to think that there’s a test for MS specifically and there’s not.

My opinion is that she does not have MS simply because the odds are that after 18 years she would have progressed to full blown MS.

        • klmh says:

I agree. And Dr. Drew may have been referring to her general health without the necessary addicts problems needed to be helped by his program, rather than clearing her of all physical health problems. I imagine that will be his sidestep to cover himself.
          This could get interesting…

  23. klmh says:

    Adgirl:

    From Reality Tea:

In other Celeb Rehab news, TMZ is also confirming that Real Housewives of DC star Michaele Salahi has been kicked off the show.

The reason? Michaele had “no addiction.” Sources tell TMZ she had “no reason to be there.” In fact Michaele’s husband Tareq Salahi told TMZ over the weekend that Michaele’s only addiction was “probably to chocolate.”

Oh, but it gets even better. Sources tell RadarOnline that Dr. Drew Pinsky tested Michaele for multiple sclerosis, something she claimed to have, and she tested negative, just as many had suspected.

“Dr. Drew did a thorough medical examination of her, including a full neurological check-up, and she is fine. Michaele is all drama, that is her main issue,” said a source to Radar.

Looks like an MRI may have been done, with a full neurological exam.

Punishment for lying about disease was that we KNEW we would get leprosy or something else that involved fingers or your nose falling off. I think maybe other cultures are kinder and call it Karma.

Sad about Richard isn’t it? I really liked him now? Not so much. I am broken hearted about Carla!!! She was just my very favorite. Oh, I will vote for Tre because he is nice and a great chef. Besides I love it when IHJZ influences something!!

In that quote Lynn said any evidence.

If you have MS and maybe someone with more knowledge of MS can share but wouldn’t there be some evidence of having such a disease? Someone mentioned their mom’s eyesight failing, lesions, etc. I would imagine with any disease there is some evidence within your body that you have a disease or some something where doctors can ascertain that more than likely you have MS or some other disease. Diseases normally do show evidence be it in the blood or looking at tissue or other signs. I am no doctor but I would imagine that, that is the reason for autopsies and whatnot because some evidence of a disease has to be somewhere. I can’t imagine you walk around with MS but are 100% healthy in every way and your body shows no signs whatsoever that you are fighitng a debilitating disease. I would think there would be evidence in your body somehow. *kanye shrug*

      • 2Stupid says:

I posted yesterday my Mom has MS, but it is very difficult to diagnose. My mom actually had it for a couple of years prior to being diagnosed. It can be a progressive disease, and there can be really mild forms. They will make my mom have an MRI and they can see lesions on the brain to see if it is active. However, if you are not in a flare up you will not see this. It took years for my mom to start seeing permanent damage. I am 39, and she was diagnosed prior to me being born. At the time her neurologist was familiar with the disease and diagnosed her with it. It wasn’t until she had her first real flare up was he sure and started treating her more aggressively. I think the point that is trying to be made, if you were going to make up a disease, this is a good one, because it is really hard to pinpoint.

This is the only official language I can find about Michaele Salahi and rehab. It mentions nothing about MS:

“The treatment program that Celebrity Rehab documents is intended for individuals with serious substance abuse and addiction issues. Prior to the taping of the current season, producers were advised that Michaele Salahi met the criteria to be treated in this setting. However, professional assessments spanning from that time to the present, found that she did not meet such criteria. As a result, she is no longer participating in the program.”

    • HD says:

Why is this the “official language”?

      • WindyCityWondering says:

It was what the network officially said as the reason for M being fired/let go. The headline said no MS. Dr. Drew did not say MS either. IMO, we are to infer from the tests’ results that she has a clean bill of health therefore, we believe this means she does not have MS. Confusing!

        • klmh says:

I might be wrong, but I believe that was said off the cuff. The “official” language that came from Dr. Drew’s crew was as stated above. Everything else I found mentioning MS was supposition only from different sources.

      • klmh says:

The quote I used above was made by the producers, not a celebrity website or blog:

But producers of Celebrity Rehab weren’t interested in treating stress in Salahi, who was involved in a scandal at the White House during President Obama’s first State Dinner in 2009, and she has been released from the show.

Why? “The treatment program that Celebrity Rehab documents is intended for individuals with serious substance abuse and addiction issues,” VH1 said in a statement to PEOPLE. “Prior to the taping of the current season, producers were advised that Michaele Salahi met the criteria to be treated in this setting. However, professional assessments spanning from that time to the present, found that she did not meet such criteria. As a result, she is no longer participating in the program.”

This doesn’t put Dr. Drew in hot water with HIPAA. That’s why I brought it up. He was not the person that came out and talked about Michaele being perfectly healthy without MS. That statement has been made by others, not the Dr.

        • WindyCityWondering says:

Exactly – Dr Drew didn’t say she had MS or didn’t have MS – just that she had issues. I’m wondering what contract/waivers she signed. And if the Salahis launch a lawsuit based on a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act – they will have to provide proof she has MS. Sooner or later they are going to out smart themselves!

          • klmh says:

It will be interesting to see what the lawsuit is about since Dr. Drew didn’t mention anything other than her not meeting their criteria. They didn’t approach the MS issue at all.

          • klmh says:

A violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act? I guess I forgot about that. Wow, that will be fun to watch that suit unfold!
            Thanks WCW.

  32. HD says:

I hear the MS back and forth you can’t test for it…

I understand that. If you can’t test for it, how it is determined that people have MS?

In whatever way that is determined perhaps Mrs. Salihi did not have these things that determine if a person have MS. There has to be a way to diagnosis people with it, either by you have these symptoms and these symptoms, right? So maybe she doesn’t have those issues such as the eyesight issues or lesions or whatever it is that determines that people have MS.

I am sure on Celeb Rehab you have a complete physical and bloodwork, etc. She may have come back with not ONE THING WRONG with her so then how would she have MS? MS has to have some symptoms to determine if you have MS, right?

    • neroes says:

I just checked my med surg book and it said early diagnosis of MS is difficult because symptoms are vague and in some cases temporary. A lumbar puncture and CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) analysis reveal an increased white blood cell count. Electrophoresis of the CSF, a technique for electrically separating and identifying proteins, demonstrates abnormal immunoglobulin G bands, which appear separated. A CT scan and MRI may or may not disclose lesions in the brain’s white matter.

      • HD says:

I wonder how long she is saying has been diagnosed with MS?

When she is asked about it she is so evasive. If you are going to put it out there and take a stand, take a stand.

        • LavaLady says:

I agree. Personally, I think that MS somehow was either diagnosed years and years ago or proposed as a possibilty for some issue she was having.

Dr Drew got what he wanted – the media attention when the Salahi’s were announced to be on the show. It probably isn’t as important that they actually are ON the show.

    Achhh The Salahi’s!!!

I understand there is no definitive test to prove or disprove her claim of MS.

I do wonder if Dr Drew spoke with her “diagnosising” physician about her symptoms. For all we know it was Micheale’s OBGYN, botox guy or the Sheree’s Love Doctor.
Also, Dr Drew might have had a MS specialist review her file too.

If Dr Drew could not prove she has a “diagnosis”, let alone the actual disease, that’s when he probably kicked her to the curb.

Every single time I see a quickfire challenge or an elimination challenge, I always think why can’t they try a kosher challenge? I mean, they’ve basically done everything else– deep-fried food, vegan food, southern food, etc. I think kosher would be enormously challenging to these chefs. Cooking kosher food is very difficult as you are limited in the ingredients you can choose (like no pork or shrimp) and limited in how you combine them (like no meat and dairy together in a dish). How awesome would that be?

Only problem is that kosher food is extremely complicated. Like the chefs would not be able to use their knives and would have to use knives that have been “kashered”. And there would have to be Rabbis overseeing the cooking to make sure the chefs don’t make a mistake and make their food not kosher. It would probably cost Top chef a ton of money to pull off, but I think it would still be totally worth it 🙂

You aren’t boring anyone, it’s been an active discussion and it’s good to have people with knowledge participating in it.

  44. Satchels of Jelly Beans says:

I apologize if this was already discussed upstream, but with regard to the Salahi addiction business, Celebrity Rehab has had a couple of “guests” who were “addicted to love”. The two who sprung to mind were Rachel Uchitel (most recently), and the model who looks like Giselle’s older sister/mom. I think that, when it comes to her relationship with Tareq, Michaele might fit neatly into this little category. Perhaps Tareq realized (a) what a douche this would make him look like, and (b) that if Michaele got better, she would leave him. Perhaps he pulled the plug — either directly, or through his control over Michaele . . .

    • Sparkles says:

The model, Amber Smith, was first on Celeb Rehab. She actually had a very major pill addiction. Then she appeared on Dr. Drew’s Sex Rehab to treat her underlying relationship problems (and, some would argue, to have a job).

Rachel Uchitel was ostensibly on Celeb Rehab to treat a pill addiction, but the show really focused on her emotional issues. She didn’t seem to have a serious addiction, at least when compared to other cast members who were truly battling major drug problems.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

I thought the whole Rachel t”addicted to love” thing was a farce until I also saw her trying to come off Benzo’s (sp).

I actually liked her more than I thought I would, I thought I would HATE her. But then I thought on some level after losing a fiancee in 911 maybe that is why she went after married (unattainable) men because she didn’t want to be in a real relationship where there was an end game in site.

I still don’t like that she got 10 million bux tho, given that Tigers wife got approx 100 million and had a real relationship and kids with the man. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not poo poo-ing a 100 million bux; but if I was married to someone and his mistress got even 1% of my settlement was never mind
10%, I would blow a gasket out of sheer principle.

      • LavaLady says:

    Good morning 😉

    • DJ Fruit Loops says:

the bit about her having a strained relationship with Andy is just 100 per cent not true
so if they lied about that what else in the articleis false

      • HD says:

How do you know that’s not true? Did you see a scoop somewhere or is it just because she is always on WWHL, etc?

        • DJ Fruit Loops says:

          I can only say that i know its not true ;
Andy never says anything negative about her
          they both adore each other
and he has had her on wwhl more then any other Bravolebrity

      I can see both sides.

OT1H a hurting Nene lashes out and is unpredictable.

OTOH at least she’s smart enough to recognize the pit of vipers she’s cast with. Kim, Khandi, Phaedra and Sheree are carnival barkers in high heels and not one of them would blink before selling her own grandmother for $1.

CA: 2 wrongs never = right. I’d be more inclined to take against Nene had her beef been with someone reputable. Star is a joke. I won’t be watching. The Joan vs. Annie formula is too played out, I don’t need scripted reality to entertain me, and unlike PR or TC, the challenges grew dull like 3 seasons ago. ZZZzzzz

Every time I see the weather channel or the news I feel
    like I am very blessed.
Thank you all again for your support & cannot
believe how many other people are going through the same or worse.
Hope everyone gets the help we all need.
    Love & hugs

So true. I woke up at 5 am and I always watch the news in the morning. I am thinking, my goodness, here we go again. So much destruction lately. I pray that people are safe and stay safe.

I saw all those cars in the water. It just makes you think about what is REALLY important and it certainly is not the abundance of things.

  49. DJ Fruit Loops says:

Pray for the people in Japan and all the others being affected by that earthquakes after shocks

    • error404 says:

I know! Isn’t it awful. Those poor people.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

I’m just praying the death toll stays low, I think right now it’s about 300 with another 100 or so missing. I heard on the news that the last large earthquake there killed as many as 120 THOUSAND people.

good morning all! I thought rhoc was on thursday nites and last night I was actually awake and the first episode was on. what’s going on? is it on a different nite? I have basically just been reading lynn’s recaps and not watching any of the shows, on too late, just try to catch the replays. bea is too painful for me to watch, I agree with everyone who said there is too much whining this season.

great photos of your trip to nyc, lynn. what a beautiful smile you have! you are too adorable for words.

on another note, did I miss a discussion about WSL? not only is she not posting anymore and she was the most active of the new posters, but I went on lynn’s family photos site and her pictures are gone. what’s up with that? is she ok?

RHoOC took over RHoAt time slot Sundays night at 10.

I watch BEA the next day, and after everyone’s constant bitching and moaning, it’s not anything like what I’m expecting, so maybe that’s a strategy to try. I’m enjoying it! And all the whining about it being to whinny is pretty funny.

I’m as out of the loop as you, no idea about WSL.

      • LynnNChicago says:

WSL is “lurking” and always with us, she’s fine and in contact via email. She’s promised to continue her lovely birthday wishes but is taking a little break from regular posting.

Thanks for asking about her, I’m sure she’ll be happy to hear from you!

I’m with you error. I often miss BEA in Monday and read the blogs first , and I always expect to see some horrible bethenny behavior and I watch and think , I’d be ten times worse then she is. Frankly I can’t think of anyone who has as much as she has on her plate physically emotionally ,spiritually ,financially and on camera no less, and she pulls it off because she’s real. I whine more getting up in morning . I don’t know what people expect from this woman.
