I Hate Jill Zarin Million Dollar Listing    March 23, 2011

Thank you Quincy for your blog on Million Dollar Listing:

Million Dollar Listing Week Eight

Josh Flagg has a listing appointment at a home under construction with Barbara. Barbara’s business partner has passed and his holdings are being sold.  The house is to be sold as is.  The construction workers will work for one more week, but the house is far from finished.  The house is 18,000 sq.ft., 5 bedrooms, 9 Bathroom, and there are custom cabinets in the kitchen. There is an unfinished pool, 4 olive trees, a large hand painted wall mural, stained glass windows  and an elevator.

Josh Flagg tells the estate representative, Barbara, that this is a fantastic location, one minute from The Beverly Hills Hotel.  The house is half completed and a fair price would be $5,000,000.  With 8 months of construction and another $1,500,000 the house would be worth $8,000,000 or $9,000,000. Josh thinks that this should be a pocket listing in order to make it more interesting to future developers.  The commission would be $112,000.

Madison and Heather meet and discuss the problem last night when Josh Altman and Madison verbally sparred at the party thrown my Heather and another female friend.  Heather said that Josh Altman was a good guy. Madison said that he felt protective of his relationship with Heather.  Madison said that he got mad quickly. Heather has a PCH that will take 30 minutes and she leaves.

Josh Altman moves a 5PM appointment to 6:30 PM.  He has the opportunity to list a 6 figure house in Malibu and now Malibu is his territory. Josh A meets with Chip the contractor and another listing agent, Joe, is there at the same appointment time. The beautiful home has a panoramic view of the ocean. There are 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a designer kitchen, sliding glass doors, and it is a brand new construction.  Chip wants the two listing agents to determine a price and he wants them share the listing. Chip steps away and Josh A offers Joe $25,000 to leave and let him have the listing alone.  Joe does not accept the offer from Josh.  Joe says the house is worth $15,000,000.  Josh A says the house is worth $13,000,000.  They tell Chip to list at $13,900,000.

Madison tells Heather that he has out of town buyers, John and Erica coming to LA for the weekend to look at houses in the $1,500,000 range.  They want 3 bedrooms, a yard for kids, and big closets.

Josh Flagg and Godzilla, his dog, are in his apartment. Josh is in a robe and his hair is messy. He begins to make phone calls, and tells everyone that “you are the first person I called.” He also mentions that the house needs work.

Josh A is in Malibu for is first showing. Joe and Josh meet with a fellow agent and they try to out sell each other.  Neither will step back and they are both embarrassed by their behavior. They mention the television and 8 inch oak planks for the kitchen floor as they try to promote the house.

Josh Flagg is showing the unfinished house and all of the brokers and agents are shocked by how much works still have to be done. No one seems interested in such a huge project.  Josh tells us that “people just don’t have the vision that I have. Everyone wants a turnkey property.”

Madison is showing the out of town buyer and his sister in law some properties. A sick child kept the buyer’s wife at home and that is a problem because she needs to like the house also.  Josh shows them a $1,400,000, 2348 sq.ft., 4 Bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.  The ceilings are vaulted and the house needs some work. The master bedroom is on the highest level and being away from the small children is a problem for the buyer.

Josh Flagg is home and he calls his grandmother to ask permission to visit her in her penthouse apartment in Josh’s building. The grandmother says to come up and they have coffee. Josh Flagg tells his grandmother that he needs suggestions for selling this home and she suggests a party at the house to let people spend time in the home and get inspiration.  Josh F calls it a construction party.

Madison is taking his out of town buyers to another house listed at $ 1,675,000. The buyer finds does not like the home and time is running out.  Madison then takes the buyer to a $1,595,000 with a modern kitchen that the buyer and his sister in law love.  Madison records the buyer and sister in law showing the house and will send the video to the buyer’s wife for her consideration.  The buyer wants to offer $1,300,000, but Madison suggests $1,400,000.  The closing will be in 15 days.

Josh Altman and Joe are at the Malibu House for a private showing.  There has been a lot of interest in the property.  The two listing agents are working well with each other now.  Madison stops by to see the house.  He always looks at homes in Malibu for his clients.  He meets with Josh A and they have conflict.  Joe asks if that meeting was WW2. Josh said that he did not want to talk about it.

Josh Flagg meets with Colton to discuss his book. Josh Flagg and Colton have been together for 3 years.   Colton is supportive of Josh Flagg writing about their relationship as it would be helpful to Josh Flagg’s career.  Colton would like to be Josh’s partner at events, not just a plus one.

Heather has job interviews that were arranged by Josh A, her new boyfriend. Heather worked in Las Vegas for 5 years selling homes before her position as the assistant of Madison in Malibu.  When she leaves she sees Josh Flagg and he smiles as he knows she works with Madison.  Heather handles the chance meeting well, but she was surprised to see Josh Flagg there in the lobby.

Madison meets with his out of town buyer who now wants to wait 8 or 9 months so he can go to Europe for his business.  He promises to look at houses in the future.  His wife liked the house, but she can’t move with small children if her husband is in Europe.

Josh Altman and Joe meet with Chip and a potential buyer in Malibu.  The buyer has a low offer, but the seller has a bottom offer of $12,800,000.  They negotiate and Josh A convinces the buyer to move to $12,800,000.  They buyer will put down 40% and the deal will conclude in 60 days.

Next week is the finale.

Great job as always Quincy, thank you!!!  Lynn~

Another “final’s” episode of Top Chef airs tonight, Bravo has posted a video of Eric Ripert and Anthony Bourdain discussing Bourdain’s latest book, the sound quality is horrible but if you’re a fan of Bourdain like I am, it is fun to watch!
Don’t forget to vote for your Top Chef All Star fan favorite:
Vote for anyone you like, honestly, anyone…as long as it’s Tre! 🙂
(if he wins, he should share his $10k with me, right?)

Thank you to BlueSky_Forever for posting this link, here you can view Bethenny on Good Morning America and read an intro from her book

I know we haven’t had a Kelly Bensimon moment in the blog lately, she apparently has some time on her hands now so she’s uploaded a new You-Tube video, the sound is horrible and the result of what she’s doing is laughable, but it’s worth 55 seconds of your time for a giggle…

@KellyBensimon  I uploaded a YouTube video — IMG 0070 http://youtu.be/FoEWmZCcRKU?a

Do not adjust your computer settings, this woman really is putting REAL sheepskin rugs on her dining room chairs.  Not only is this a ridiculous abuse of animals but it looks absolutely awful!  She provides the web site where she ordered them, but don’t worry, I’m sure PETA is fine with it.  PETA isn’t saying don’t kill sheep to cover your chairs with their fur, they’re saying don’t abuse animals…OMG this woman is a train wreck!

Kelly has been tweeting recently using a hashtag #KellyFit.  I’m sure this is her answer to Bethenny’s fitness video, cookbook and NYT Bestselling Book Naturally Thin.  Kelly’s fitness tips include a 6-day a week diet with Sunday’s off, she recently tweeted cotton candy, an all natural treat.  (remember she doesn’t eat processed foods)
@KellyBensimon:  “Teach a person to fish, and they’ll eat forever”. #kellyfit
@KellyBensimon:  Mornin NYC, just had coffee out of my “tigger” cup from Disney. Time to workout for 25 before i film #kellyfit
@KellyBensimon:  Look at this dessert from Saddle Ranch. Cotton candy is fun for day off from 6day diet #kellyfit http://yfrog.com/h7razbwj
@KellyBensimon:  Happy Sunday. Give a shout out to all the LA marathon runners. Its a major feat to be so proud of! #kellyfit

So if I understand Kelly properly, her #KellyFit program includes learning to fish, eating cotton candy, drinking coffee and giving a shout out to Marathon runners.  This is an easy fitness program, thanks Kelly!

On a personal note, I want to join all of you who sent your well wishes to JustAnotherMary, a regular here on our blog.  Mary has been battling a horrible disease and her husband has been reading the blog to her since she lost her vision.  Yesterday Mary informed us that she got her vision back and we’re all so thrilled with the great news!

Congratulations Mary, we’re all so happy for you! xoxo

Until Next Time…

    Nice recap Quincy!

It did snow here, not a lot & it most likely will melt today. Up north in the higher elevations they are getting more snow. Listening to CBS 880 radio, lots of accidents on the NJ turnpike. Be careful driving today, it is not a good commuting day here.

Yesterday evening the board was misbehaving, I wanted to post that Bethenny had 900? people at her book signing at Barnes & Noble in Union Sq. in the city lol make that “NYC.” You can see her on GMA & read the intro to her book here….

    http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Books/skinnygirls-road-fulfillment-read-place-bethenny-frankel/story?id=13185636

    Have a great day Lynnfam!

  2. DJ Loops Fruit says:

Blue Sky its still coming down here in essex county I HATE FRIGGING SNOW

    • BlueSky_Forever says:

I’ve never seen a winter like this in NJ (been here since 1985). The snow is coming down, it’s a winter wonderland out there. Pretty to look at….but rough on the commuters trying to get to work via NJ turnpike, GSP (parkway). Good day to stay home & have cocoa with peppermint schnapps!

Out in the midwest back in 1971 ish we had a spring blizzard in April. Huge drifts, higher than my parent’s ranch house…it was all melted in a few days.

Drive slowly you NJ commuters you – take it easy, it’s all good. Stop for a bagel & coffee, enjoy life in the slow lane.

      • LavaLady says:

I’m in Bergen County and it is snowing like crazy. HS has a half day, but I think tomorrow morning may be worse. Still planning to go to Bethenny’s signing in Ridgewood tonight.

        • Sha2000 says:

I remember snow in NY one Easter Sunday in the 1970’s…enjoy, that’s why I moved to the warmer states.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Sha I recall that too as we got in in jersey as well
oh why oh why couldnt my family have settled in miami when i was concieved

          • twoile says:

@S, I too experienced snowin MA on Easter weekend…was afraid I wouldn’t make it home 4 the holiday week from boarding school. I didbut it was quite a lot of snow! :0)

  3. boston02127 says:

Thanks for the new blog & recap. I missed the show last night.
    .
    .
Eww…. that picture of Kelly so early in the morning. She really should look in to wearing a one piece bathing suit.

  4. boston02127 says:

Does anyone know if the cruise ship that Jill is on is the same cruise ship that she wanted fans to go on? (Fans..hee hee)

  5. error404 says:

So happy to hear the good news about Mary!

  6. HD says:

Rest in Peace to Elizabeth Taylor. It is always nice to see a person that truly lived their life in color!

    • quincyil says:

…. I just mentioned her yesterday in our blog. I did not know she passed.
I remember her many movies even those before my time.

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

it happened this morning i think
First Loletta Holloway yesterday now this
If Zza Zza dosnt listen to her doctors she wont be too far behind

        • Zoey says:

And one of my favs, the great Pinetop Perkins, master bluesman, died this week. He was 97. Outlived all four of his children.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

thats really sad when someone outlives all the children 😦
i dont know his name ut im sure i have recodings that he has played on

      • twoile says:

Seems that one of the articles re: Elizabeths death says it is on the anniversary of Mike Todds death symbolic i think.RIP

    • California35 says:

      WHAAAAT???!

Another perfect example as to why coming here is good for me. I get to read about other things and news…not only tv shows.

I got to go find out more about Elizabeth Taylor — 😦

  7. quincyil says:

I think Andy really does love older women. He seems to have a great time with them on the air even if the ladies don’t like him. Gloria and her family really complained about his line of questions after she appeared with Jill to sell that book.

I love the 1960s cloths that Elsa wears. I love the colors and patterns. I don’t know what business Marisol is in, but she should consider a line of clothes based on her mom’s collection for women. I think it would sell well.

  8. HD says:

MDL- Madison, Madison, Madison…he just can’t seem to get a break. I don’t think he is aggressive enough for this million dollar home business. Josh F and Josh A seem to be kicking butt and taking names later and Madison always seems left on the sidelines.

His assistant was wrong to go on interviews without telling him that she was looking because I am sure that industry is very tightknit, they are on a TV show together and I am sure word would get back to him quickly. It made him look bad and she should not have done it without telling him that she is weighing her options and might be looking.

I love Josh A and his confidence! Love it!

As for Top Chef…goodness they are stretching this out forever!! At this point I just want someone to win, anyone!

    Kelly-nuts as usual!

    • FlowerPower says:

ITA on Top Chef! I was hoping they’d do a double-elimination last week and then wrap it up. I don’t even care who wins at this point. It just needs to staaawp!!!!! (and I usually love Top Chef….)

      • HD says:

I normally love it too but I agree. They are like we need you to cook breakfast, then lunch and then a dinner, after that we need you to make after dinner drinks and we will have another competition where you dive in the ocean to discover the heart of the ocean from the Titanic and use that as inspiration for your next dish…

  9. indy anna says:

Another great blog. I’m so happy for you Mary, keep you chin up, miracles do happen.

  10. WindyCityWondering says:

@JustanotherMary – congratulations on your sight. Love to you and Virgil and can’t wait to hear what you have to say!

  11. housewifeaddict says:

I’m so happy that Mary has her sight back!

On Million Dollar Listing – what cracks me up is when two of them have a “chance” encounter, and someone says “how do you know each other?” Aren’t the cameras following them around a give away!!!

If Josh Flagg was really deciding whether or not to come out in his book, would he have asked for the scenes discussing whether or not he should come out of the closet to be thrown out if he decided to stay in the closet? Hmmmm – seems like it was a done deal by the time it was filmed. Not that I fault them for wanting to get that sort of discussion on camera – that scene just seemed very fake and badly acted.

    • HD says:

Hello! I was thinking the same thing. You are gonna ask Colton if he minds coming out in the book on camera Okay….did you not notice the cameras there?

      • WindyCityWondering says:

Scripted – he asked Colton first about including their relationship in the book and then asked him if they could film “his response”…..I like them together.

      • quincyil says:

I think Josh Flagg is a “Showman.” He certainly plays for the camera. I think the clothes he wears and the way he interacts with people at the houses is all for ratings.

I actually enjoy watching Josh Flagg and all of the guys.

Heather seems to really want the limelight. She had cameras following her for a change. I noticed that she has those heels with red bottoms too. Two years of sitting in an office waiting for Madison to come back with the cameras are over for Heather.

        • HD says:

Josh Altman is the showman to me, from the hair, to the clothes, to the swagger. He just is the man! Ari Gold in full effect.

          • quincyil says:

Do you think his relationship with Heather is real? I can’t tell if he is helping her to hurt Madison or not. I would love to know if they are still a couple.

            • HD says:

He is hurting Madison to me if he is pulling away a good assistant. However he could be helping her because she wants to leave and he can probably open a lot of doors for her. Perhaps he sees her potential. Josh A doesn’t seem to me like someone that is diving into a relationship. I don’t think him and the assistant were ever truly together.

              • WindyCityWondering says:

We aren’t seeing everything, but Josh seems to be playing Heather and Madison isn’t reacting well. Heather should have the career she wants – both are hurting her opportunities.

                • quincyil says:

Madison hired her as an assistant. She has experience and a license in California now. She can and should do what is best for Heather. Madison will either supporter her and work with her or not. We might see a new assistant next year. Josh A does seem like a play boy to me.
Some day, he will meet a nice Jewish girl that his mother will like.

            • AZ Girl says:

I think Josh A is helping her. The market is at rock bottom and if Heather gets out now and establishes herself she can make the most of the “upswing” in real estate. Madison would be wise (if he had a broker’s license) to take Heather in as an agent. He would get a percentage of her sales. If Madison has just his agent’s license then have Heather be a co-agent and share overhead. She “eats what she kills” on her sales so to speak.

  12. butterisafruit says:

Just Another Mary, I’m very glad you have your sight back. You deserved a break. I doubt I’d be near as gracious as you have been with all you’re going through.
    Mary Ellen

  13. quincyil says:

Kelly Bensimon seems to get real sun tans. No spray on yellow dye number 42 for our girl. You can see her shoulders turn brownish red.

I notice skin because I am older and I am into saving mine. The Barbie Miami housewife in photos has a speckled décolleté. I have noticed this on Jeanne Keough, Tamra Barney, and Vicki Gunvalson also. It seems they all took care of the skin of their faces, but they baked the rest of their body poolside.

    • HD says:

Did you see that article that came out today about melanoma affecting rich, white women the most?

      • Sha2000 says:

I’m guilty, I have my own speckled décolleté and shoulders, but not my face. It’s a blond thing, we need a little color or we look washed out….not that I can tan no matter how hard I try. I have an Italian mom, an Egyptian husband & two beautiful olive toned girls and I am glow in the dark white : (

There’s nothing like the feeling of the sun on you, and yes, while you do have to be careful of the sun no sun can be bad for you too, we all need a little vitamin D….everything is good in moderation! Wealthy women have lots of time to sun, no surprise in those findings.

        • butterisafruit says:

I can appreciate that. I’m all Irish. And love to go to the beach. The wind, sand and salt water strips all the sun block. No matter how I cover up I still come home with a big red nose.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Kelly is authentic in that the only true tan comes from the sun and it is starting to show – her leatherlike glistening skin suits her bikini/sand angel, ocean worshipping persona. The ocean makes you feel awesome and Kelly loves to celebrate her awesome natural beauty.

    • alicia says:

I notice the skin on the neck- I’m terrified of turkey neck !

      • quincyil says:

We all get older, but you can do a lot to prevent premature aging. Kelly didn’t get that memo.

The Miami girls and all of the California girls must fight the sun battle every single day.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Cedric has Jill Zarin syndrome – that delusional thought that people just don’t see the real person and that tv got it wrong, wrong, wrong!

    • jezzibel says:

talking about developing his own show and it actually happening are two very different things.

      • quincyil says:

Lynn and everyone, I would like to develop a show based on this blog. I will call it… “THATblog!” We will discuss celebrities and how big the moon is. I am thinking that we can start it on you tube, Andy Cohen will see it and we should be on Bravo in no time.

This is as likely as Cedric getting his own show.

        Q

    • twoile says:

Maybe “C” would like to try 4 the Actors Studio as well:D

  14. Sha2000 says:

Okay for those of us watching Miami, the reunion will be aired live:

    http://realitytvmagazine.sheknows.com/2011/03/21/the-real-housewives-of-miami-bravo-to-air-live-reunion-show/

I think they should do that with all the cities.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

ITA – a live show will likely minimize the “walk offs” and make answering a question more valid (no excuses, editing) and real time reaction to the conversation/questions. I don’t want to see Andy reading questions, I want to see the housewife as she is being asked the question! And those plastic surgery/work done questions, Andy’s obsessions with animals and side characters and the ones already asked on WWHL need to be gone!!!

      • Sha2000 says:

I wonder if NY will be live too? Interesting that they chose to do it w/Miami since its had lower viewership.

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Elsa already said she wouldnt be on teh reunion 1.she doesnt fly and 2 she feels she isnt really a housewife

too bad as she really is a hoot

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

slightly off topic for the ones that watch Miami the chef that was teaching the ladies how to cook was the same chef that taught Melissa on joand and melissa and he taught them the same exact dish

  15. Mimisfbay says:

Regaining your sight must be a profound experience and I am so happy for you Mary. Wow.

    • Sha2000 says:

Me too. I remember reading years ago that Stevie wonder was having a procedure that may give him his vision; it didn’t work. I feel so sad still, I am sure he’d trade his millions to see his loved ones faces.

  16. WindyCityWondering says:

All three of the guys on MDL are interesting in a different way – while some of the buyers/sellers are creepy and/or whine too much. That market is alien but still fascinating – the numbers they throw around boggle my mind at times. I wonder if the people of Malibu and BH have the same mindsets about each other as the guys seem to have….

  17. Kansas Girl says:

Hi Mary! (waving and hopping up and down) So glad you can see again. It will be good to “see” you back! Yay!

  18. California35 says:

    Good morning everyone,

I am sad about Elizabeth Taylor — Thanks HD and others who posted about it, because I had no idea.

I have not watched MDL but will tonight. Thanks Quincy for the recap.

    Kelly – still a loone.

My sister and baby are now home, she was released yesterday and she did not need my ride after all. I will go visit this weekend, I can’t wait to see the baby girl again 🙂 I will be taking a lot of pictures 🙂

I will start reading B- book today. So far I read the dedication (it was also posted in this blog). I LOVE how she dedicated this book to her fans 🙂 I know that she always thanks us and mentions us and says everything is because of us…but the whole dedication in that section of the book was to us — the Fans! Love that….

  19. Rhetorica says:

    So happy for you Mary!
I love MDL & am surprised next week is the finale already.
Question: is that a stuffed horse on the right in Krazy Kelly’s video?

    • quincyil says:

I have been writing the blogs and all of this years shows seem to be shorter. I don’t know why, but I suspect they have a budget and as production costs rise, they have fewer shows.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

Except for Atlanta and NJ which seem to be marathons of same old same old! I was surprised to read that Miami has one more episode then the live reunion – Bravo slammed that series out, gave it little promotion and even the blogs have low response rates compared to other housewives.

        • quincyil says:

It looks like they gave trial runs to Chicago and Dallas then decided the housewives franchise was kaput.

There is a new series where rich Manhattan mothers to be ride horses naked. What can I say, it’s a NYC thing.
I have ridden horses for 45 years, but when I was pregnant, I did not get on a horse. I only shoveled when the horses were out of the stalls too. I did not walk in the pasture with the horses following me either even now, I know where they are even though they like me. They could spook and run me over.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

as long as the ratings are good that is all that matters and the ratings are good for Miami i would expect to see a second season of it next year
not so confident about another season of DC

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

the ratings were higher then rupauls drag race
when tehy report on the ratins in most venues they are usually comparing them to the major channels not cable channels whos ratings are almost never as high

      • Mimisfbay says:

Could it seem that way because we were yawning through the Chad scenes?

I actually like all of the guys this year. I liked that Josh A encouraged Heather and supported her decision to become an agent instead of assistant.

I am secretly hoping that Heather goes off to work in West Hollywood and becomes the first woman on the show. Surely there is a woman selling million dollar houses there. We have many million dollar plus properties up here in the SF Bay Area. By the way, you could put most of them on the first floor of a house in the Chicago area.

        • quincyil says:

I am going to miss blogging on MDL. I get into a routine after a couple of blogs. It’s so easy to do these shows as there are patterns in how they film. I think Lynn’s houswives shows are far more difficult to write about.

          I loved Tabatha’s show too.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

i liked Chad on the series and wish he would come back

    • Kansas Girl says:

Rhetorica, Kelly has a large plastic horse in her living room. You can see it in many of her videos. It seems to be life sized, as she “rides” is. I think it’s by an artist. She’s talked about it at some point. It is, of course, “amazing”. LOL.

      • Rhetorica says:

Thanks Kansas! I thought she had taken her fur campaign too far. Of course if you just stuff the horse, you’re not hurting it:) Did you have snow in Kansas? Here in NC, we’ve got some good thunderstorms rumbling.

      • Undermywheels says:

It’s the only horse she SHOULD ride…she really has no talent for riding.

  20. Luvtopchef says:

I love this site and read the blogs and comments everyday. Keep up the great work, ladies. Re the Million $ Listing: “…Heather has a PCH that will take 30 minutes and she leaves.” (PCH = Pacific Coast Highway.) She must have had a listing somewhere along PCH. My absolute favorite person on this show is Josh Flagg. His quirky behavior makes me laugh, and I look forward to seeing the next episodes just because of him.

Re Housewives of NY: After last season I don’t know if I can watch it again, but I will certainly be reading this blog site for the updates. I also wish Kelly would not pose in her skimpy bathing suits – she has great legs but I think her body is unappealing. At this point I’m just out-housewifed and tired of hearing shrill voices, the bickering and seeing the expensive, homely fashions they wear.

Top Chef: Still my favorite, but as the season progressed, so did its appeal to me. The chefs I thought were the best were eliminated early on (the two Dales, Jen and Casey), and the only one left to cheer for is Antonia. I have a sinking feeling Mike Isabella will win the title because, true to himself, Richard will freeze up as will Antonia.

Thanks for allowing me to express my opinions.

    • quincyil says:

Thank you for telling me what PCH was. I had absolutely no idea. That is why I love coming here. People ask questions and share their knowledge with each other.

      Please come often.

      Q

      • AZ Girl says:

When I was growing up in LA, PCH was a two lane road. Dad took us to the beach every night after work in the summer and I would watch my three brother’s surf. Then dinner at a food court that was called “Airport Village” (if I remember correctly)

    • Adgirl says:

I co-sign your post on TC. Geez who wadda thunk Mike I would be a finalist?

  21. Zoey says:

I’m feelin’ the love on the board today, and proud to be a Lynn family member!!! Hugs to you all.

  22. shamrockblonde says:

not a lot of time, so thanks so much for the blog – great as always – and Mary, your name here may be “justanotherMary” but to all of us here, you are and always will be –
“our Mary” – so glad that your sight is back – be well, dear one –

have a great day all –

  23. Mimisfbay says:

I am still laughing about VirgnMary…hilarious.

  24. Noreen says:

Whenver I see Kelladge in a bikini, I expect to see “Help Me” protruding from inside her stomach, ala the Exorcist. There is something bad wrong going on in there.

    • Mimisfbay says:

      Or Alien

      • quincyil says:

I looked up Kelly’s problem with her sternum and it does happen to mothers. Kelly said that Sea did that when she was pregnant. I had never heard of it before. Kelly actually taught me something.

        • Noreen says:

You mean other than how to fancy up your dining room with dead animals? But seriously, I didn’t realize that. Her stomach just looks so painfully overworked. A little fat is not the worst thing in the world. At least that is what I keep telling myself!

    • Adgirl says:

OMG that is too funny. What was that movie with the talking pimple head/face person on the guy? Gross.

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

she looks like a post op in the bikini
      not a good look

  25. Careyann says:

    Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting but I have been reading since the start. I could not believe the tub scene with Tamara on RHOOC. Remember a few seasons ago she started crying because her eldest son got another tattoo on his lip- she cried saying she was a bad mom if her son did this. What would make her think getting naked and making out with her bf. in front of a tv crew was model behavior? Maybe it is me but seeing a 42 yo naked in a tub looking all love struck makes me gag. Now she regrets it but says her kids don’t watch the show and won’t see it. Well, news flash on the website The Improper (theimproper.com) from 3/21 there is TAMARA’S NIPPLE seen during the tub scene. Apparently Bravo had to redo the editing, but the original scene is on the web. Hey Tamara what is the difference between you and Gretchen now?

Love reading your blog Lynn and reading all your followers thoughts. It is so much fun!
    Careyann

  26. I don’t think the “KellyFit” program is working for Kelly right now. LOL

    Tweet from Kelly:

KellyBensimon: Oh my god. My button popped on my jeans before my meeting. If u feel good, no one notices. #kellyfit

    • error404 says:

I’d love to know what brand jeans she wears that have a button! lol

I’ve had buttons pop off khakis, but jeans typically have this really sturdy metal stud type button. They don’t just pop off since there’s no thread to break.

  27. Adgirl says:

I’m going hire an attorney to sue all the media outlets that surprise & abuse me with Kelly’s bikini photos.
What do you think – Mental Anguish? Torture? False Imprisonment?

Anyone want to join for a class action suit??

I am especially annoyed because Kellyobviously provides them herself to a photo wire service. She knows fresh bathing suit pictures are always published. She probably gets a little kick back too.

    • Noreen says:

I want to join your class action!

    • California35 says:

      lol

I still can’t believe she will be in NYHW’s!! I know I said that before, but seriously…why? I am not watching house wives at the moment….I am so over them…still debating about NYHW’s but it was my favorite. I will make up my mind by the time it starts. I CAN’T wait for Lynn’s recaps and blogs about it though 🙂

      • Noreen says:

NY is my favorite series too. I loved it from the start but I am not sure I will enjoy it without Bethenny but I will give it a try. I think I expect the ladies to change or improve, like characters do in a movie or book. And then I slap myself and realize, this is as good as it gets with these gals. That’s what I like about Bethenny, she has matured best the HW series and wants more for herself and her family.

    • error404 says:

you can laugh all you want, but in all seriousness, when ever anyone posts something about Kiki here I’m very careful before I click on anything, especially if it has the word bikini in the link title. I’m too old to suffer such shocks!

      • WindyCityWondering says:

ITA – it is totally disturbing to see Kelly in a bikini – they never fit or flatter her manly body!

  28. error404 says:

OT, but anyone gonna be watchin ‘The Borgias’? Looks like ‘The Sopranos’ meets ‘The Tudors’. lol

    • quincyil says:

What channel? I have read about the family. They were fun for more than a century.

I think that Teresa and Joe are the descendents of ancient Roman mobs.

    • Adgirl says:

What’s scary is they are for real.
I dunno, it was no picnic living in medieval or ancient times. Either you were indentured/slave & pathetically poor, or if you were well off someone was trying to kill you.

      • Nancy says:

You are sounding like Kelly right now.
“someone is trying to kill me”

      • quincyil says:

I love to read about real people in history. I actually studied the Black Plague for a long time. It was amazing that over half of the people alive in towns would be wiped out in weeks.

In Italy, they would put the dead bodies on the doorstep to be picked up by city workers who buried them in mass graves.

TB was another killer. You see it come into a household and as family members cared for their sick, they would get the disease and pass it on to others.

When Rome was on HBO, I studied the diseases of the armies and how they affect the outcome of major wars.

Hmmmm…. no wonder I became a microbiologist. Dear Jill Zarin, I have another hobby other than watching your behavior on a reality show. Let Rachel know. rotfl.

        • California35 says:

lol – on your last part.

Quincy watching or learing about that type of history makes me appreciate the present. It also makes me wonder why when I was a child, I would hear…”back in my day, people didn’t do … back in my day … people were more discret. back in my day…yada yada. Then I see that stuff (or hear some stories of my own family from “back in the day”) and think wait a minute things were WORSE!!! lol

    • California35 says:

I will!! Also Nurse Jacki and United States of Tara (just thought I mentioned them, although they are nothing like those shows you mentioned :-P)

      • error404 says:

        love them too! Also ‘Dexter’.

        • California35 says:

Dexter?!! ME TOO 🙂 The reason for getting Showtime 🙂 I don’t know when that one is coming up though….hmm maybe once The Borgias end.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

i think i may be the only person (besides my Jimmy) that just hates Dexter
it just rubs me the wrong way could never get past season 1

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

i LIVE for United States of Tara
Toni Collette is just about as good as an actress as you can find
        second only to Meryl

    • JKW says:

Oh yea, I saw the Tudors and Pillars of The Earth. I will catch the Borgias too. Those are the kinds of “housewives” I can get into.

  29. error404 says:

Sorry, but I think anyone looking forward to the live RHoMi reunion is going to be disappointed.

WWHL is basically one long commercial filled with bs, sound bites, differed answers and the occasional outright lie.

Typically these reunions are 3 televised hours edited down from an entire day of filming. To me, the decision to do Miami in a shortened live version screams two things:
    1. these particular women really don’t have anything interesting to say
    2. we’re so desperate for improved rating, we’ll stoop to gimmicks

next they’ll be filming the reunions in 3-D. Watch out Tamra doesn’t throw a drink in YOUR face! lol

  30. VAgirl says:

Good afternoon, everyone! Thanks for update on MDL because I missed it last night. I keep forgetting it moved from Thurs to Tues. Oh, well. Mary, so glad you got your sight back. I couldn’t imagine what you must have been going through not being able to see. I really enjoy this blog. You can say what you feel and if someone disagrees, it is done respectfully. Not like some others where the posters are just plain mean. Here it’s all good fun, not so hateful. It’s so funny that some people think this is a “haters” blog. Quite the opposite. I’ve never seen so many caring people.

  31. Adgirl says:

I didn’t watch Miami. I just do not own enough brain cells that I can let that many die.

I did watch OC finally and I suddenly like Alexis. She is my sympathy fav just because she is soooo dim but sweet natured.

Alexis understands when she is being mocked but is helpless to end it so she lets Jim make her pose with the stack of luggage or run around fetching food for him.

The only thing Alexis can control is her body so she starves herself and artifically accentuates her sexy parts. She gets positive attention from men for her centerfold figure.
I’m sure trying to have a serious conversation with her is impossible.

I feel a little bad for her. Just a little.

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

if you didnt watch it how can you say anything good or bad about the show
i have watched it and i like it a lot better then the dc one and the nj one
and after last seasons marathon of hate i think i like it better then NY

      • Adgirl says:

See what I mean about losing brain cells? Kidding, I’m sure it a fun show I just don’t want to watch anymore versions of RH.

  32. Adgirl says:

Hey everyone I got a JOB! It’s not a pretty one but it is something. Starts April so I will be miss participating in fresh NY snark.

  33. VAgirl says:

I was just over looking at Reality Tea and saw where Andy Cohen is saying the DC Houswives MAY be back, but that Bravo wants Michela Salahi back and that the other 4 women are refusing to film with her (good for them!) Negotiations are still ongoing.
Yuck! Bravo will stoop so low sometimes just to try to get ratings. I guess they think DC would be too boring without the Salahi’s on there.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Bravo just doesn’t listen – we don’t want the Salahi trainwreck – hope the others hang tough and don’t sign up if M&T are coming back.

      • Adgirl says:

I enjoy watching delusional people searching for their
“invitation” and squirming around limos en route to the White House.
If people at the WH hadn’t been fired, or hundreds of people victimized financially by these shameless grifters I could watch them every single day.

I love Mary, Cat, Lynda and Stacie but I don’t know that there is enough action to make the show fast paced and interesting for me to invest in again.

      • Mimisfbay says:

Right and they are busily re editing BEA, sure.

    • lillybee says:

If Bravo does sink that low, they better address Michale getting kicked out of Dr. Drew rehab show.

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

      it would be LOL

  34. BlueSky_Forever says:

Wow, Wendy Williams is totally disgusted with Chris Brown!!! She says he has to answer the questions, then say “Ms. Roberts, thank you so much for this interview, I know what happened with Rhianna was wrong”…then talk about your new album, your new hair color, etc. etc. CALMLY & it would have been so much better for him. ITA !! He had no reason to flip out & break the window. She says furthermore, when Chris is on DWTS next week, follow her on twitter as she will be commenting on his performance & presence there. LOL, go Wendy!

    • VAgirl says:

I agree with WW (did I just say that?). I haven’t been following this story closely, but Chris Brown’s actions reinforced the fact that he must still have anger issues.

    • HD says:

While I agree nothing needed to get broken I also must say, even Rhianna has asked not to discuss it in interviews anymore. I think it happened two years ago, he did what he had to do legally and he has done interviews already about the incident and expressed his remorse, etc. I would not like to keep talking about it either. Especially if he thinks he is going there just to promote his album. I think they should let it rest already.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

yes- but he okayed the questions before Robin asked them in their interview. If he believed that the questions took away from his music, then shouldn’t he have said “no questions about Rhianna- I’m over it”?

personally, I don’t like this kid. I think he’s got some anger management problems and I thought it before GMA. He comes across like a spoiled loser, only able to feel like a man when hitting a woman. A little boy bully posturing as a tough guy.

        whatevs

      • error404 says:

I just have a hard time believing that big stars and major news programs don’t have all these type things ironed out before they even agree to do the show, never mind show up. Seriously, two household names and neither has some kind of manager or producer that faxes over a list of questions to be signed off on beforehand? I’m suspicious.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

one more in boston said he okayed teh questions already maybe that one was left out of the list on purpose

      • LynnNChicago says:

I have to agree with you HD, she asked about it, then moved on, the circled back to that topic no less than two more times, it was unnecessary. His reaction during the interview was fine but his outburst and violent reaction afterward says he still has a lot of anger to deal with. He really should have been proud of himself for the way he handled it on screen, instead he made sure everyone knew his anger is still out of control, that’s a shame.

        • BlueSky_Forever says:

Agree Lynn, he needs to grow up & learn to handle his emotions. Right now he is showing us that his anger issues have not changed. Really? Tearing up a green room & breaking a window overlooking Times Sq. where someone could have been seriously injured – what a jerk. Walk out on the interview if you have to, if you cannot handle the verbal side. He needs training on handling the awkward/rude questions – tell Robin off in a manner that will teach her “don’t go there.” The people trying to bring you down will always be out there. Learn to handle them in a way that makes them look bad & you look like a winner. Violence is never the answer.

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

its gonna follow him for the rest of his life
i agree they should let it rest but just because it was brought up he didnt have to go on yet anpther rampage proving just what everyone thought he learned nothing from the first time

    • California35 says:

I agree, that he could have handeled it better…but I also agree that they should just let it go. The problem now is that he reacted poorly and he is showing that he STILL needs help. Good luck to him on his music…I really never listened or was into his music before or after the insident…so I don’t really care much.

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

actually untill his problem is taken to a shrink its never gonna get better
it isnt a question of him “growing up” as someone else stated
he obviously has deep rooted anger management problems

  35. boston02127 says:

JustAnotherMary–Congratulations! I’m so happy for you, I hope & pray that things keep getting better for you.

Some of the posters were planing to go yesterday….can’t wait to hear from them 🙂

    • California35 says:

LavaLady – let us know 🙂 I thought someone else was going, but I think Vilvet is going but that is until April.

      • vilzvet says:

Bethenny is having a signing close by to me next Friday night. I want to got but not battle 500 people to meet her, sigh…(if she got 900 in NYC she is going to get a couple hundred here easy).

  38. justanothermary says:

I’m in tears, the good kind. I shouldn’t be surprised by the outpouring of love and support that comes from this site since I have experienced so much of it first hand, but I’m still amazed. Thank you all. There are just no words. I thank the good Lord everyday that Lynn and her “kids” have been here for me. Ohhhhh – justanothervirg to me to say “Hi and You Guys Rock” trust me, from Virg, that’s HUGE!

    Gretchen Christine Forward.

  43. lillybee says:

Re top chef, antonia was robbed.

    • HD says:

It did seem like they were kinda of really trying to lean towards Mike. However I do have to say Antonia has been making those “salsas” for a minute now. How can you go wrong with a salsa? I like that Mike did something that took a little more skill. Black olive caramel sauce? Sure sounds good. Was it beef tartar and a tempura lobster? Yum! I think he may not have had the punch of bold flavor as they kept saying but he continued to step outside the box all season and that must account for something. Antonia put grouper on top of a salsa…again. Top Chef should not be about what I can cook in my kitchen necessarily. I can cook grouper. I can make salsa. I cannot make tartar nor black olive caramel sauce. I want to be blown away by a chef that is always pushing the envelope and I think that is what put Mike over. JMO.

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

How can you go wrong with a salsa?

use too much of this and not enough of that can ruin a salsa easily
some people go heavy on cillantro and then that is all you taste

        • HD says:

These are Top Chefs. She is not going to go wrong with a salsa which is why she keeps making them.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

but keep in mind they have done that other show with real top chefs that have been established for years
and even they make mistakes and get eliminated all the time
Have you ever eaten in any of the places owned by Emerill
you would assume they would be top notch, right
some of them arent much better then Olive garden
