I Hate Jill Zarin Top Chef All Stars – The Final Three

I Hate Jill Zarin Top Chef All Stars

Now THIS was a great episode of Top Chef. I still believe that some of the more talented chef’s are gone and were eliminated too early, this is what Top Chef is all about!

With twists and turns coming fast and furious, the final three, Antonia, Richard and Mike were really put to the test tonight. Amazing what someone under pressure can handle. Padma pointed out to the chef’s seven classic Quick Fire Challenges from the past, and the chef’s knew they would be choosing one for their final Quick fire of the season.

Mikey chose first for his cousin Antonia. Mike admitted that he is gunning for Antonia, he wants her gone because he feels that Richard is the best chef left in the competition and he wants to beat the best. I think he’s selling Antonia a bit short but he’s probably right. Mike felt that cooking with all canned foods would challenge Antonia the most, and sticks her with the task that would make Phaedra proud.

Antonia gets to choose for Richard, she decides to award him with the hot dog challenge. That one was a bit surprising as I thought there were more difficult ones available but there you have it.

Finally Richard chooses Mike’s challenge. The Classic Quick fire of the One Pot seemed to be a good choice as Richard remembers Mikey saying he always needs 7 pots and pans to prepare a good dish. Unfortunately Richard was a bit short-sighted as that wasn’t anywhere near the most difficult Quick fire available.

Mr. Wolfgang Puck, Chef to the stars, is tonight’s guest judge and as they put 45 minutes on the clock, he wishes them all good luck. But a few minutes into the challenge Padma returns to the kitchen to throw the chef’s a curve ball. The Chef’s now have another obstacle to overcome, Richard will have to finish his dish using only one hand, Mike will have to finish with no knives or hand tools and finally Antonia will have to complete her dish attached to former contestant Carla Hall.

Mike didn’t find it at all difficult to complete his dish without any tools, he had already cut up all of his ingredients and was simply waiting for his dish to cook, he stood laughing at Richard and Antonia as they struggled to complete their tasks.

Wolfgang and Padma tasted the three completed dishes and awarded Mikey the win saying that Richards Hotdogs had too much catsup and Antonia’s flavors were too strong, something that Antonia struggled with all season and continues to make that mistake throughout the finals.

The Elimination Challenge had the chef’s preparing a “Last Supper” for three famous chef’s. Wolfgang Puck returned to enlighten Richard that his final meal would be Hungarian Goulash with Apple Strudel. Michelle Bernstein told Mikey she wanted Fried Chicken with Biscuits and Gravy. Finally Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto informed Antonia that he wanted Meso Soup, perfect rice like his mother makes and Hamachi.

The luck of the draw had nothing to do with this one, Mike Isabella purposely chose the match up the chef’s as he won the Quick Fire and he purposely gave Antonia the most difficult challenge. Richard’s was also difficult as he was the only one instructed he was to create a dessert. Mike should have won this hands down but he didn’t.

The diners enjoyed Richard’s Goulash and Apple Strudel the best and he was immediately sent on to the final two. Based on the comments of the diners it seemed as though Mike would join Richard. Antonia once again blew them away with the spices and Chef Morimoto was not at all impressed with is final meal. I wonder why Antonia doesn’t listen to the judges criticism and ease up on the spices when she’s cooking.

Rather than announcing the winner, Padma pulls out an envelope, twist number three of the night. Mike and Antonia who look completely spent already are to return to the kitchen to prepare one bite of anything they want to prepare, winner takes all and will join Richard in the final two.

Antonia prepares Grouper and Mikey serves Steak Tartar with Lobster, his version of surf and turf. The judges tell Antonia, once again, she was heavy handed with the spices but Mike was told by Chef Tom Colicchio that his steak was bland. The judges vote was literally split three to three until the final vote was cast by Chef Wolfgang Puck and in dramatic fashion Padma asks Antonia to pack her knives and go.

Pack your knives and go

Next week it will be Richard against Mike and the winner will be Top Chef of the gang who lost Top Chef in the past. They were both beat in their original appearance on the show so are they really a Top Chef?

I still think that more talented chef’s have already gone home. Jen, Dale, Casey and even Marcel seem to be more talented than Mike and Antonia. Chef’s like Angelo, Fabio and Tre are more attractive than Mikey and Richard. Get it together Bravo, we’re a smart mostly female audience, keep the cute guys damnit! The season was disappointing watching brilliant chef’s going home while we watch Mike Isabella and Antonia Lofaso complete to get into the final two.

I think that between Mike and Richard, we have to go with Richard to win it all.

Bravo is airing Real Housewives of New York Season Three all day today to get us geared up for Season Four beginning in two weeks.  Tomorrow a preview of RHONY Season Four and this weekend more of Quincy’s fascinating tale of her version (based on a true story) of those wacky New York ladies.  Don’t miss it!

Until Next Time….

I stopped watching top chef all stars because I hate mikey and richard pisses me off. I agree, we need more tre! I loved fabio the most but tre was the strong, silent type <>

  2. PJ says:

It bothers me that Mike can be in the middle all season and then end up in the final two. Especially when others like Angelo were always in the top and made one mistake and are gone. It dosen’t seem fair and I don’t think we have the real talent in the top two. Although I have to disagree about Marcel, I don’t think he belongs in the top. It should have been Angelo, Dale and Richard in the final three.

  3. Kelly_Has_Big_Shoulders says:

I really think that some challenges like for example Mike and Antonia’s last challenge it should be anonymous, I don’t know why I sometimes get the feeling judges don’t just judge the food but the person. Anyway that’s just my opinion. They should try the food deliberate on what tastes better then decided what dish wins without knowing who did until they have made a decision.

    • MK Valle says:

I totally agree with you about this. I called the outcome…Wacky Richard and the Jersey Jerk, no females.

  4. HD says:

I am working today (don’t I sound like Vicki?). I sure would like to be at home watching Season 3 just so I can have a refresher course on why I hate Jill!

    • LynnNChicago says:

Sorry HD, but I’ll be sure to include a reminder list of why we hate Jill Zarin in the preview blogs 🙂

      • LynnNChicago says:

Please take a moment to fill out my Reality TV Survey. http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22C45CKE683/

Jill created a survey, too bad it doesn’t ask important questions that will help Jill Zarin be a better person.

        • HD says:

I wonder why she is doing this survey? It has nothing to do with her in a sense. That is so strange.

I can’t wait to see the list! I am sure I can think of a few things right off the top of my head! Uhhhhhhhh! Season 3 made me so hot under the collar! I just could not take it. From the very start when she starting whining about Ramona pulling out her jewelry on the boat trip and why wasn’t Ramona giving them a freebie, etc. I wish I was home to watch it! I am so jealous!

          • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

I put it on after I read your blog~thank you Lynn.
Sorry HD~I will watch for both of us. lol

            • HD says:

LOL! Rub it in Baabee, rub it in! 🙂

              • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

LOL HD Love & Hugs to You!
I just called humane society to see about volunteering there a couple of mornings each week.
Waiting to hear back. Love animals so this should be hard work but fun too. It is a no kill shelter too.

          • error404 says:

Why? Well this is of course JMHO but my guess is she’s trying desperately to find a job outside of RHoNY and not getting anywhere, so she’s trying to prove crossover appeal. Questions like: “Do you watch other reality shows than RHoNY and what type?” smacks of marketing info to me, like she’s trying to fond out where she can follow her audience and some of the other questions seem defensive, like she trying to counter the accusation that reality tv is over and the market saturated.

            • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

              Hi Error~
I took survey too & did not get results?
              How are you doing?

            • OneMoreInBoston says:

I agree with you. It’s an odd marketing survey though.

What are they trying to get at? The relevance of reality TV “stars” in out own life? The relevance of Jill Zarin in our life?

I almost felt like she was getting duped somehow by a marketing firm looking to gather information about the influence the entire genre- while Jill thinks it’s a survey just about her. Or will benefit just her.

odd. And a little late in the day. These shows have been on for several years. Did someone JUST get the memo that people watch them? And scratched their head…hmmm…how can we make money from this fabulous NEW idea of featuring housewives?

Next they will be studying the viability of the internet. (hmmm…I wonder if do a NEW thing called a “pop up ad”…I know it’s hard to imagine…)

        • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

When I watch Top Chef I need to be cooking or not hungry because watching that show makes me want to eat. I like the show very much but I get so tired of people getting thrown off these reality shows. I still don’t know why they all can’t stay till the end & have the winner & second & so on. I love Anthony B. too.
Another show I miss till repeats.

  5. VAgirl says:

I personally have grown to like Mikey. He has done his homework and has been bringing it. Who’s to say he hasn’t really worked hard to improve his culinary art and isn’t deserving of being top chef? And his game play the last couple of weeks has been spot on and that’s what it is, a competition of smarts and talent. Richard’s lack of self confidence gets on my nerves. He is obviously a talented chef and needs to own it. I have actually enjoyed this season because it seems the judges have actually been choosing the best dishes for that challenge and haven’t been afraid to eliminate the so called “most talented” of the bunch.
Also, Marcel, who I also think is a talented chef, has his own show on the sci-fy channel. I think it premiered on Tuesday, but I didn’t watch it. I may tune in to check it out. It’s called Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen.

    • MK Valle says:

I would check out Marcel’s show but I have a hard time getting past his “Wolverine X Man” hair. Lol

    • AZ Girl says:

I watched Marcel’s show and it was really boring.

      • VAgirl says:

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll probably pass.

      • Mookies1mom says:

I watched it as well. I just don’t like the guy, but I knew that before I set the dvr. I do like to see the techniques but it’s not like I have liquid nitrogen laying around to try to reproduce what he has done. I might watch it one more time to determine if I can stand him enough to watch what he creates.

  6. WindyCityWondering says:

Sad that Antonia was eliminated – all season she did her best without excuse and I really wanted to see her in the final two. Mikey just doesn’t seem sincere to me and Richard does have more creative skills and has the qualities a Top Chef should show. Unfortunately, Mikey will probably win because Bravo likes brats (and I don’t mean sausage)!

  7. HD says:

Well, I am thinking that Richard will win but I do like to see an underdog emerge. Mike knows he is the underdog and will have to cook exceptionally well to beat Richard or Richard will have to make a serious flaw.

This was the Top Chef that never ended! It seemed like it lasted forever. I am glad it is over and it went on so long I am not really invested into either chef. The both seem to cook well, Richard of course with a higher level of skill and execution.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

I Know – even without fan favorites it just seems to go on and on! Richard has the skills/creativity but Bravo is into ratings. The thoughts of the judges last night made me think Antonia was going to win the one bite….

  8. justanothermary says:

Ughhhhh. Watching reruns of RHNY. Bethenny is confronting Lumann. Lumann makes me so sick. My marriage of 16 years and my marriage of 16 years. Her marriage was a sham from the beginning.

Whatever happened to her book? Besides being good for a laugh, her etiquette tips make me throw up in my mouth a little. Kelly’s crazy, but Lumann and Pill are just plain evil. I hope Vince is watching these episodes. I encourage healthy debate, but I don’t believe anyone could watch this and not HATE JILL ZARIN.

    • HD says:

Girl if Luann mentioned that marriage one more time! I have to live vicariously through you all today. What else is going on?

      • justanothermary says:

It’s a beautiful day in my neighborhood. The sun is shining, the son is shoveling and the Virg is still asleep! It don’t get much better than that.

        • HD says:

Sounds like a beautiful day. I know you are enjoying seeing the sun. Yesterday there was a bad storm brewing and my daughter and I went outside to watch the clouds roll in. We take so much for granted, don’t we Mary? We had a nice relaxing time just watching clouds. Sometimes that is what life is about, the little things that sadly tend to go unnoticed.

        • Rhetorica says:

Hi Mary, I’m relative new to this blog but love the support everyone gives each other. I’m not sure of your situation, but so happy for you!

          • 2Stupid says:

Mary, I mentioned on other blog, but I am really happy for you. My mom lost her eyesight due to MS, and I know how difficult it has been for her over the years. Now that I have young children she has to again explain why Grammy can’t always see what the children are pointing to, my sister’s children are much older. So happy for you and Virgil (I will secretly miss Virgils posts too!)

    • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Hi Mary~don’t know if you saw I said how thrilled I am for you. I was just thinking the same thing. Where’s Vinny when you need him. That’s the one in love with Jill but he’s gay right? lol

      • justanothermary says:

I did read every comment and was very touched. Thank you so much. I have been amazed by the outpouring of kindness on this blog. It’s so NOT a hate blog.

Although I do hate Jill Zarin.

Yes, Vince is the gay Jill fan. I’m still not convinced that he’s for real. He comes off as so smart until he starts talking about Jill.

        • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

I really think it’s Jill or her gay husband or both of them inventing this person. Very strange but very funny too.
I hate JZ as well. That’s why someone as smart as this Vinny is supposed to be doesn’t make sense & can think it’s ok to try to ruin someone’s life.
And if he’s Italian why not a little old Italian lady in his soul? lol
Would love to bust them on it somehow.
I have had gay friends male & female all my life & they would never stand up for someone as evil as JZ. They all knew what it is like to have so many against them for being who they are.

          • vilzvet says:

I’m watching it too! Here we have Ramona calling out Luann for lying, Alex is going to confront Jill about all the negative things she’s been saying behind her back about the boys, etc. Alex had her number already. And Kelly shows up in a fur thing with a dress that has no length whatsoever.

  9. justanothermary says:

Oh, I almost forgot. I saw an ad on TV for the SyFy channel. Apparently Marcel will have his own cooking show there. Cooking on SyFy???? I may have to watch.

  10. plainviewsue says:

Bottom line is these two chefs made it to the finals. Whether we think Angelo, Dale or Jen should have stayed, they blew it.

It’s hard to root for either Mike or Richard, cos they both have serious attitude issues, which is why it would have easier to root for Antonia or Carla. But I do think Richard will win.

As for the RHONY, I just watched the first episode, and it reminded me again of how Jill came out of the gate running to get everyone to hate Bethenny.

  11. justanothermary says:

OT, But I was driving around yesterday by myself, cuz I can now, and there are some real flooding issues around here. I hope all of Lynn’s blog family are safe and not threatened by the rising water. I’m in no danger of flooding, but I will probably wind up having house guests in the next couple of weeks as the river continues to rise.

      Hi Mary,

I am so glad to see you back 🙂

It has been raining on and off here in California. The weekend was pretty bad, but it stoped for two days. I rained again yesterday and we are expecting more of it. I am doing well thought, and I will be fine if I don’t have to drive 🙂

  13. California35 says:

    Good morning everyone,

Last night I had a weird situation when coming to this blog…you might have seen a note from me asking what is going on, or something like that. I usually use my iPad when I go on the blog at home, and that is where I went last night. It was so different; I thought Lynn had changed the style of the blog. I thought I would figure it out, and that I would find many comments about the change. I never figured it out, I could see the blogs, but the comments were not updating. The weird is thing was that Kelly’s bikini picture was on full screen until I click to go to next page. THAT was not nice 😛 At one point, my BF saw the screen (after I had signed up to the blog for like the 20th time). He asked who was that on my screen with a discussed face, I told him she is someone I don’t care for, so he asked WHY I had her on my screen then. At that time I just laughed. I told him the situation, but he let me be when I explained that it seemed that the blog was probably under renovation or construction. I also said that I HAD to figure it out because I HAD to have the blog. I kept trying and leaving it, until it was time for bed. I didn’t think to go to my computer to see it because I was still thinking the blog was the reason everything looked so different. This morning I thought about it, and couldn’t wait to get to work so I could try the blog once again. I figured if anything else failed, I would e-mail Lynn.

Now I am here, the blog looks just the way it always does. I read the titles and few comments before I wrote this, just to see if anyone mentioned something about the “change”. There is nothing, so now I am wondering WHY would my iPad do that???!!! The most annoying thing about last night was seeing Kelly’s pictures on my full screen 😛 The most concerning thing was that when logging in, the screen would have some kind of hiccup and would either take me back to Kelly’s picture or to a blank screen with some other housewives website link (only the link).

Any waaaaaays, tonight I will have to figure out why the screens are different on my iPad, or I will seriously rethink my reality with dreams…because now that the blog looks normal, I am wondering if everything was just a weird dream 😛

    • California35 says:

Oh! another thing – THANKS for the recaps and the news — Thanks for mentioning that NYHW will be on today. I was able to set to record them…Of course I have seen them before, but I want to watch again. I will have this weekend back to normal and I will be able to watch them then.

      Have a wonderful day…

    • Crisanna says:

It did the same thing to me on my IPad! I didn’t check the computer either to see if it was different last night, but I’m on here now and it’s back the way it was. I wonder if it was an IPad thing? Mine’s at home so I can’t check to see if it’s still like that. BTW, when you get to the picture of Kelly, there’s a tab on the right you can swipe to get into the blog. I have used my IPad before on this site with no problems and I haven’t updated my IPad either so I don’t know! You can still read the blog, it’s just VERY different.

      • California35 says:

EXACTLY!!! I would “swipe” to the blog.

Thanks for comenting about it, now I know I wasn’t alone 😛

I don’t bring my iPad to work, so I will have to check again tonight, but it was still the same this morning. I hope that we don’t start having problems with our iPad now that there is a new on out. I will check it out tonight.

        • Crisanna says:

I know. I hate the new format. We can compare notes after we check it again tonight. I really hope I don’t have to see Kelly’s mug every time I want to get to the blog!

          • California35 says:

lol – yeah – there were so many other pictures, I don’t know why THAT one was the one making it to the full screen lol

            • quincyil says:

Well, I did look and the nipple looked like a nipple of a mother of four.

            • Crisanna says:

Ok, I’m home and it’s still the new format. I guess I can get used to it. WordPress must have reformatted for iPad. The good news is the pic of kelly is gone. They must use the one from the current blog as the pic they enlarge.

            • California35 says:

              iPad still doing it 😦

  14. Careyann says:

    Hi everyone,
I posted yesterday but all the comments began changing place. I was watching the reruns of RH of the OC reunion and how Tamara was attacking Gretchen and her behavior. Well how things have changed. That tub scene Tamara did was so distasteful and now there is video of a NIPPLE SLIP of Tamara that Bravo did not edit correctly.
The actual unedited video is on several low brow online sites. Bravo has corrected the video but the unedited version is all over the place. Tamara has not said anything yet and I wonder if she knows. But what is really ironic is the stuff she condemned Gretchen about is exactly what she is doing. Next weeks promo of Tamara doing
body shots is real model behavior. I was wondering what you all feel about this.

    • HD says:

I have not seen Nipple-gate. As for the body shots, I may get slammed for this but I am thinking she is out of town, living it up and probably decided to do it. I don’t really mind. It is like when you go to Vegas and act a fool but you leave it all in Vegas. I think the only difference with Tamara is that camera’s were there. How many of us have or we know someone that has, done some wild and crazy stuff on vacation that you just would not do in your day to day life? I know I have.

As for her condemning Gretchen…you certainly reap what you sow. That is why you should never say never. Karma ain’t nothing to play with. Now here she is doing everything she feels she is old enough to do. And her hyprocrisy will come back to bite her. But quite honestly, she doesn’t care. Her excuse will be, “I was newly single and trying to rediscover myself.”

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

hi HD- totally agree. I really don’t care about Nipplegate.

But what I DO care about…maybe I’m being sorta crazy about this…Olivia says it’s all scripted anyways…WHERE WERE THE CONDOMS???

So Ok- this chick is newly single. I guess I’ll believe this is only boyfriend since she was engaged to Simon, so this is her first post marriage, the ink’s not even dry on the divorce papers, boyfriend.

Everybody’s freaking out because of her kids, and what type of a role model is she for them, but I’m asking what type of a role model for single women or newly divorced women is she?

I knew too many people with AIDS that died-and now that the medication is better, know too many living with HIV.

While it is not the death sentence it once was, there is absolutely no reason that Tamara AND Bravo couldn’t take the opportunity to present safe sex in an adult manner. God knows the rest of the scene was adult.

        • WindyCityWondering says:

When my best friend got divorced she did some pretty stupid things in the name of trying to rediscover or discover herself. When I asked her how she would feel if her 21 year old was doing what she was doing she got the message without the lecture! Tamra really needs to go forward not backwards in her discovery process.

        • Careyann says:

I agree that we all do things we may not be proud of but to actually plan it with a camera crew and say you forgot they were there is the part that I feel is BS. It actually made me feel sorry for her because she came across almost like a desperate woman needing validating. She is now saying she plans on getting married to him. I don’t think I would say that in public with out a ring on. Apparently that scene was shot 2 months after they began dating and to hear her say “I love you” to him without any response was hard to watch. Maybe he really does love her but I get this awful feeling that she is going to get hurt.

          • WindyCityWondering says:

How nice of them to treat us to their porn star fantasy but it looks like lust not love to me. ITA – hurtful times ahead.

  15. cusi77 says:

Good Morning Lynn and Everyone! Thanks for the Blog! I watched Top Chef last night for the first time knowing the final is close. What a surprise to me that I liked it! I also ate the entire episode! What great dishes they prepared!

OT_ I have news. My neice had two beautiful boys! They are not identical twins but look a like soooo much! These twins are the 5th. in the family!

  16. LavaLady says:

I did attend Bethenny’s books signing last night at Bookends in Ridgewood, NJ. My sister and I got to the bookstore around 6:15. We were told to purchase the book, and then either wait in line outside or just browse around town and come back around 7:15. My sister took a peek at the line and it was about 30 people. Since it was raining pretty hard, we got something to eat and came back to the bookstore at 7. My sister wanted to purchase another copy if the book, so while she was on line, I noticed a store employee hovering near a back exit. I quickly assumed this was the door that Bethenny would be entering through and I was right. A few minutes later, Bethennny came in wearing a pure white down coat and gold shoes. A few minutes later Julie came in. She was wearing a black down coat and bright red shoes. I could not believe how high both their heels were. They were ushered right into the manager’s office, but you could hear them talking. Bethenny’s voice sounded just about the same, maybe just a little higher than on TV.

My sister and I then joined the line outside. There were probably about 200 people in line ahead of us. By now it was sleeting very, very hard. The line started moving right at 7:30, but only about 25 people at a time could enter. I would say we were on line for about an hour. It was pretty miserable, because of the sleet. We also had thunder and lightning. I was shocked that I saw no one give up and leave the line. I really expected that. When we were about to enter, I could see many, many people behind us, probably about another 200. I was also surprised to see many people with more than one copy of the book.

We entered and went into a downstairs area of the bookstore. There was still a line, but at least we were warm and dry. We could see Bethenny in the front standing at a table. She was very friendly to everyone. You could have a picture taken and get your book signed. Julie was also visible. I saw her pose with people for picures. But you could see she was working, she was all business. Nice and friendly, but definitely not there to only socialize. She is so, so pretty in person.

When we got to the head of the line, you could see that you were not really allowed much time with Bethenny. Just enough to sign the book, take a picture and say a few words. She had a beautiful red dress on, with bright red lipstick. Her hair was down, and slightly wavy. I surprised at how fit she looked, thin, yes, but not scrawny thin, but fit thin. Once in a while she would call something out to the crowd. Mostly about the horrible weather. She felt bad people were so cold and wet waiting to see her. I would say she was very efficient in moving people through. Polite, friendly, but you could tell this was not the time for chatting away, lingering, etc.

When our turn came, Bethenny right away saw we were twins and she asked us if we were best friends. She actually asked us twice. It was kind of nice. So we got our books signed, took a quick picture with my sister’s phone and exited.

We saw a store employee on our way out and asked if they thought Bethenny’s signing was successful. They say yes, absolutely. They figured about 500 people were there, with over 500 books sold. After we left, I would guess Bethenny would have had to stay at least another hour to get through everyone on the line.

I was surprised to see many young girls waiting to see Bethenny. Group of 3 or 4 girls either HS or college aged. Of course, there were people like me, age 50 or so, and also a few couples, and a splattering of single men. But I would say the crowd was mostly young women.

So that’s my story. I think it was definitely worth it. When I got home and took off my coat I realized my sweater and jeans were wet. Also, my wallet and money. And I was pretty chilled. But all in all it was worth it. Now I have to read the book.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Thanks LavaLady – your report made me feel that I was there too! I kindled her book and will start reading it today.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

      wow! What a trouper!

      Thank you for the report!

I wonder how many people would have gone if the weather was nicer?

    • California35 says:

Thank you for the report!! I could imagine it all 🙂

I am so glad you were able to go, and that you saw both Bethenny and Julie. Sorry about your wet clothes, but it sounds like you had fun 🙂

    • Rhetorica says:

Hi LavaLady. I’m so glad you were able to meet her! Can you post the picture for us?

      • LavaLady says:

I’ll e mail it to Lynn and maybe she can put it in the family photos above. I don’t know how to post it right in the blog.

        • LavaLady says:

I just e mailed the picture to Lynn, but it’s actually pretty blurry, so I don’t know if she will post it or not.

    • VAgirl says:

Thanks for letting us in on your cold, wet booksigning adventure with Bethenny. I wish she would come to my area, but won’t hold my breath for that to happen. Looking forward to seeing the picture!

    • Adgirl says:

Lava what a great write up! I didn;t know you are a twin. Does your sister watch Bravo and post here too??
Thanks for sharing with us. I feel like I was there with you.

      • LavaLady says:

Hi Adgirl: First of all congratulations on your new job! How exciting. Yes, I have an identical twin sister. We both live in the same town, and do alot of things together, so we always hear, “Are you two twins, Are you two sisters” It doesn’t bother us at all.

She does not post here, but she does watch Bravo. She is not quite at the same level of viewership that I am, but we do discuss the shows alot. My favorite is NY; she likes NJ. She met Theresa at a book signing last summer. Only 80 people; nothing like Bethenny’s last night.

        • Adgirl says:

Lava I always wished I had a sister, especially a twin (not an evil twin though).
I even forgive your sis for liking Teresa as long she attends Bethenny book signings in the sleet with you.

    • cusi77 says:

Congrats Lava! Thank you for sharing I felt I was there! TYTYTY!

    • Noreen says:

Thanks for the great recap of the booksigning. I felt like I was there (except for the lousy weather)!

  17. Mimisfbay says:

OMG, Lava Lady, you stood on line in sleet for an hour? What a woman! Not sure I could have done that. Thanks for sharing this with all of us. In rain and sleet many would have cancelled; including the author. Speaks volumes.

  18. Rhetorica says:

I thought last night was the finale. Didn’t they used to end the show with three finalists? I hope everyone is OK with the snow & storms. NC had storms but no tornadoes. When I moved down here 15 years ago from Chicago, they NEVER had tornadoes, but now Winston Salem is a tornado alley!

    • KookADoodleDo says:

“Bravo used to think it was about the brand and they could switch the housewives at any point but now they have realized it is about the women involved and that has changed their perspective,” the source said.

“They’ve realized a lot with the failure of DC and Miami, and they’re going to concentrate on the successful shows they have and not expand any further.

“Andy Cohen has made it official that there will be no more new Housewives franchises.”

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

wonder how NJ will do without Danielle?

      • error404 says:

I’m sorry, but what bunch of nonsense!

Yeah, DC and Miami may have been bombs, but sandwiched in between those two dullards was the smash hit Bev Hills! Imagine if they had decided to not do any new HW shows BEFORE they filmed RhoBH? Are they stupid or something.

Also, as OC and Atlanta have proven, it works to fire the dull wives and some of their biggest breakout stars were not s1 cast members.

I have no idea who “the source” is, but I know that they’re not terribly bright.

    • vilzvet says:

I don’t think it’s been mentioned here yet, just that it was still up in the air. I’m betting Miami is going to go the same route.

    • quincyil says:

Interesting. I watched Miami Social and the last episode was very interesting. For some reason, Andy Cohen didn’t like it from day one. It was like the other Bravo shows, so I don’t know why Andy saw it as a failure. Bravo didn’t replay the shows and I have trouble remembering who the reality stars were now.

The people who worked for Bravo on DC and in Miami will be forgotten too.

The must put extra pressure on Jill Zarin and the other women. It shows that Bravo is interested in ratings and income as I always suspected.

I just watch a bit of season three. The absolute truth is… Bethenny Frankel is the star of “The Real Housewives of NYC.” I don’t care about Kelly, the Countess, Sonja and sorry to admit this… Alex. I dislike Jill Zarin and really don’t have a lot of desire to watch her be mean to people.

Who is going to be the Greek Chorus of RHNYC and share her “Bzzzzzzzt” moments with Kelly? No one. We will watch Jill Zarin in an interview tell us that there is no problem with Kelly when we know there is a problem with Kelly.

Do I really want to watch Ramona being mean to potential employees?

On top of this…. I am feeling really sad that Alex gave in to Jill Zarin and formed a working relationship. I am sad that Simon gave in to Jill Zarin in the end and formed a working relationship with her.

There is no David willing to toss stones at Jill Zarin/Goliath.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

may be a short lived truce.

      • Laura says:

I was so sad when they didn’t do another season of Miami Social. I don’t know what it was about that show but I really enjoyed it. I call it mindless TV..something to just have on in the background and be able to follow along b/c there’s no plot involved…I just really liked it. I e-mailed Mr. Cohen numerous times and posted on his Facebook about it but never got a reply, of course.

My girls also enjoyed NYC Prep and that got axed as well….

I got to see some of RHoNY today too and yes indeedy, that Jill Zarin is just so much fun. She lied over and over to Bethenny on the phone, which is despicable enough…I’ve always loved NY since it was the first series in the Housewives stable that I ever watched, I don’t know if after last season and all the Zarin CRAP, if I can actually watch this season. I probably will but it’ll be hard.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Well I guess since the DC ladies don’t want to film with M&T Salahi, Bravo had the out they needed to sink that franchise. Miami will likely go the same route as DC if it about ratings. No new franchises means those still in play are going to have to up their game/ratings to survive for another season. Wondering that since NY got held back for retooling that is is following DC into the Bravo toilet….

    • California35 says:

So what will they keep then? They are canceling a few, and they are not creating new ones….Keeping NY, NJ and OC??

  19. Nancy says:

OMG you should see the outfit Kelly has on while attending a fashion show? You know the one where Ramona put’s Avery in a NY Cab ALONE so she can go to a a party with Crazy & Shrill? Are you kidding me? Now Shrill is telling Ramona that she is very sensitive and Bethenny made her cry. Poor, poor, poor Shrill.
Speaking of Shrill, I bet her BP is through the roof today knowing that BRAVO is playing season 3 all day.
I love the fact that Kelly is making such a big deal over taking a SIP of Bethenny’s Skinny Girl Margarita’s. Let me get this straight. She had no problem doing Meth (and whatever) during the 3 day trip to St John’s but taking a SIP of alcohol is to beneath her. I forgot that she is up for the Mother of the year award. Shoot me!

    • California35 says:

Yeah, I remember when Jill was telling them that Bethenny made her cry many times…I was like…crying for laughing so hard? because she always laughed at Bethenny’s jokes…later we found out it was becasue Bethenny had a LIFE outside of Jill’s. Later we found out even more…

  20. OneMoreInBoston says:

    Where’s Ms. Quincy?

miss your comments my talented friend…must be at work, saving the world from microbiology terrorism

    • quincyil says:

I was, but I am home now. I have spring chores. Somebody has to brush the winter fur out of all of those old horses. I start and they actually get in their stalls waiting for their turns. I listen to music and get a lot of horse nuzzles when I work down there. There’s nothing like a good brush down.

  21. I hope this article in Radar Online isn’t true. I was looking forward to another season of RHODC.

EXCLUSIVE: It’s Official- It’s Over For The Real Housewives Of DC

They’re tearing out the hair extensions and folding up those power suits – as, after just one season, The Real Housewives Of DC has bitten the dust, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

The fifth installation of the hit reality franchise came in with a whimper and never much took off from there, drawing meager ratings all throughout it’s short lived broadcast.

“The show just didn’t do well and it wasn’t worth airing another season,” a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.

“The DC housewives were meant to be starting shooting their second season now and they haven’t heard a peep from Bravo.

“No one from the cast has been contacted yet and told that the show is cancelled.”

RadarOnline.com has learned that the DC franchise isn’t the only Housewives show that has been struggling to lure viewers – Miami has also been performing poorly in the ratings war, forcing producers to reassess any further expansion.

“After DC failed in the ratings and Miami just bombed, they realized they can’t just start a show anywhere and it will succeed,” the source said.

The Housewives franchise has been a phenomenal success, spawning a total of seven different franchises – Orange County, Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, DC, Beverly Hills and Miami.

In the meantime, when it comes to DC : “We’re just hoping that people forget it ever happened,” the source said.

That shouldn’t be too tall an order….

    • KookADoodleDo says:

I also was hoping they would film another season WITHOUT the “Party Crashers”. They were too much of a distraction last season to really get a feel for the rest of the women.

  22. AZ Girl says:

Yahoo.com has posted an article concerning last night’s finale on Top Chef. Mike and Antonia were actually in a tie with their dishes. Wolfgang Puck chose Antonia dish over Mike’s. There was a break in the filming and Tom C. was discussing the dishes with Wolfgang resulting in Wolfgang changing his vote from Antonia to Mike. At work and can’t post the link. They are calling it “Bahamagate”

    • quincyil says:

I don’t like Wolfgang Puck’s airport restaurants. Now, I don’t like Wolfgang Puck himself.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Then Tom is an ass – Wolfgang’s explanation that he would wake up the next day remembering the flavors of Antonia’s dish was a strong statement. From the judges conversation it really sounded like Antonia’s dish was the better of the two – tasteless tartar will always be tasteless tartar!

    • Adgirl says:

Wow that is completely unfair. They should have sent them all to the finale. Tom should not have done that.

    • AZ Girl says:

If anyone is able to post the link and let Lynn know I would be grateful! Posting from my phone. Back to work!

  23. lillybee says:

I saw that and really thought that Antonia would win, I saw that the votes were 4-3 in her favor. I couldn’t understand why she lost. Those last few challenges should have been determined by picking knives rather than let Mike I pick. At this point, things should have been fairer.

  24. Adgirl says:

Waaayyyy off topic. I made an amazing new recipe last night for low cal chicken . My husband raved it was the best he ever had.
I got the recipe from Shape magazine who got it from Il Sole in LA/ Hollywood.
It’s my new impress the guest recipe.

FYI I used beef broth instead of veal.

    • California35 says:

Thanks, it looks good…I will try it tonight 🙂

    • vilzvet says:

Looks delish! I also would not know how to go about getting veal stock, guess it has to be made from scratch. And veal is so darn expensive anyway. I made a complete turkey dinner last night, isn’t that weird? I wanted to clear that big space in my freezer and the bird was taking up space. It was soooo good to have Thanksgiving again, LOL.

      • justanothermary says:

We have Thanksgiving dinner about three times a year. Virg loves it. When the boys were young it was a fairly inexpensive meal for a large family and the leftovers are always a hit. I think I’ll make it this weekend. I haven’t cooked in a while and justanothervirgil is looking kinda neglected.

        • Adgirl says:

OMG I made Thanksgiving like meal 2 weeks ago for lunch w/ my mom. Just used a turkey breast on the bone. The stuffing got soggy so I threw ina bunch of croutons.

      • Adgirl says:

I heard Whole Foods might have veal stock, apparently it is one of the 4 base french stock flavors.
I might mail away for some just for this recipe because I think it will make a huge difference.

      • Mookies1mom says:

I did then same thing about two weeks ago! I made my stuffing from scratch the whole nine yards. My hubby was a happy man!

    • justanothermary says:

This is one I’ll have to try. I do a lot of catering and this would make a nice, elegant meal that isn’t too difficult to make.

  25. justanothermary says:

Totally off topic, but I just HAVE to share. I went to the salon today to get a pedicure. Not just for fun but because it has become difficult for me to do it myself. Anyway, I took off my wig because they wash it and style it for me. One of the hairdressers, Kim, said she thought she could do something with the hair I have. I hadn’t thought much about it, but she had time so I sat down. She is amazing! My hair looks better than it has in YEARS. I used to have very thick heavy hair and it is much thinner, but probably average. I’m so excited. And to top it off, I could see it. What a great day!

    • vilzvet says:

Wow, double good news! Glad your hair is coming back in….

    • California35 says:

Oh Mary, that is so nice!

    • Adgirl says:

Mary, so much good news from you!!! (((mary + virgil))).

      • justanothermary says:

I called Virg at work (I never do that) cuz I was so excited. He’s taking off early and taking me out to dinner. I’m beginning to think he’s a keeper!

    • VAgirl says:

I’m so happy things are looking up for you!

    • AZ Girl says:

      What fantastic news.

      • indy anna says:

God holds you in the palm of his hand. Blessings all around. Have a wonderful evening, you so deserve it.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

awesome news Mary! I know your hair has always been a gig bone of contention for you, since you got sick…so glad you can wear it the way you like and see it to!

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

I meant “giant” or maybe I meant “gigantic” -don’t know from what part of my lil pea brain- “gig” came from

    • Mookies1mom says:

That is so wonderful! I have heard that wearing a wig can be very hot and uncomfortable. So happy for you right now! Big hugs to you and Virg! (Hug him hard enough and maybe his head will deflate a little. LOL.)

My sis-in-law had what I thought was a funny story about her wig situation with her nephew. Apparently, they had some fun with her being able to remove her hair. The next time she saw him her hair had grown back but he didn’t know it. He tugged on her hair and when it didn’t come off he asked “Auntie, why you hair not come off no more?” (I can’t remember how old he was but those were his exact words.) She laughed about it later, because she didn’t want to make him feel bad, but answered his question. He simply replied “Oh, O.K.” and went about his day.

  26. AZ Girl says:

RadarOnline posted that HWODC has been cancelled

  27. Adgirl says:

    Re: Princess
For anyone who thinks Gretchen still “works” in Real Estate, her lic. expired last yr.

Her only employment is RH and trying to foist upon us cheap pre-made products with her name on them. That’s it. Oh and singing too.
She and Alexis have the same “job”.
Alexis is launching a beachy dress line so I guess they are equally busy running their ‘businesses”.
They are not creating and writing like Bethenny.

Did anyone know she also used the name Gretchen Christine Forward???
    What’s that about?

I know I’m in the minority here, but I’ve always thought Gretchen was just a notch above grifter. That Jay guy won in court so there had to be something there. Slade is the perfect match for her and I’m sure they are always conning each other. They could be the next Mr. and Mrs. Salami. They’re both that fame stared too.

      • Adgirl says:

I’m with you. I can’t stand her and her braying donkey voice.
I don’t think she is nice person at all.

      • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

I used to like her when she was with Jeff. I had a similar situation except I was married to my man who died for 11 yrs & he died of cancer. That was back in 1993. Then I remarried & lost that hubby after 7 yrs & he died of a heart attack. So I felt her loss but did not realize everybody lies these days it seems & for no reason.
No one would blame her for needing comfort when her fiance’ is dying. Just own it. That is how I ended up here in KY from NYC.
Now Allan & I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary July 12th.
He is just the best. I may not be lucky in money but I am definitely lucky in love..Our home looks like an oasis with the weeping willow leaves blowing & the lilacs getting ready to bloom & bulbs all coming up.

  28. Adgirl says:

I have been stuck inside all day. Biblical rains here in Nor Cal. We have a waterfall coming down the driveway, I have to dig out an outlet for it every hour.

    Where is spring??

    • California35 says:

I keep thinking, how beautiful everything will be thanks to all this rain. That helps 🙂 Everything is pretty green already…enough already lol

      Hi Adgirl 🙂

      • lillybee says:

It will be beautiful but the grass will grow nice and tall and by summer be a major fire hazard. California has so many bad fires in the summer especially after a wet winter.

    • Mookies1mom says:

Somewhere buried beneath about a foot of snow where I am. LOL

    • error404 says:

everything looked so pretty today under a blanket of unspoiled snow, and the sun casting interesting shadows from the bare trees… yet the whole thing made me angry and depressed. This same exact day last Dec would have given me a boost, but 3 days after the start of spring, it’s a total downer. Can’t remember the last time we had such a long hard winter.

      • Mookies1mom says:

I love the snow when it looks like that as well. It looks so pretty. At night it looks so bright and even more so during the sunny daylight. This is only my second winter where I am but the locals are complaining so I figured it was bad. My hubby is sick of it. But I kinda felt like it was one last hurrah before the spring. I’ll kinda miss it but I can’t wait to start a garden and to go hiking again either.

  29. Nancy says:

Off topic here…What are your thought about Lindsay Lohan pleading “Not guilty”?

I’m still watching NY Housewives season 3 right now and Jill actually said…”Bethenny doesn’t deserve being in the same room with her.” I could hardly watch her the first time I saw this but now I find it utterly intolerable. (And in my opinion LuAnn isn’t any better.)

  30. vilzvet says:

Who does Jill think she’s kidding? Alex looked great walking down that runway! (Watching one of the reruns from last year). Her words: “I really expected alot from Alex. She has the body of a fashion model, maybe not the face. It looked like she was channeling the devil”…man, I really do hate her. It’s all getting refreshed again! And here we see where Kellyhasbigshoulders grabbed her great name, at least she knows what doesn’t look good on her! Jill was a real beyotch in this one.

Coming down in sheets over here AdGirl. We never get this kind of rain so we go into shock.

I am watching RHNY and it is surprising that they start playing the season just before 4 begins. I swear I don’t want to even watch the new season after this. Go Quincy! I know that your pearls are going to be better than the real thing. I am dumbstruck by how much air time JZ got. It is one of great mysteries that Gloria is also featured she is just not a nice woman. Ugh.

Oh Mary I am so glad for you that your hair is growing in well and you have your sight! Wow this helps keep things in perspective.

    • quincyil says:

We will finish our 4th season the weekend before they film. By luck, we timed it just right. Lynn will be adding her thoughts and photos on the next two episode in her email box.

It was amazing how much information about their season is out there. I think that their every move is recorded by the NY pappazzi. I would never want to live in a fish bowl.

  33. katlg says:

Also watching season 3, thank you ladies for mentioning it was on today.
I thought after some time passed I may feel differently about the entire season.
Nope..still have intense dislike for Jill and The Countess, Kelly…well what can you do?
Ramona, Sonia and Alex, still like them.
My thoughts about Bethenney were begining to change a bit with this new season of her show but watching this, I can see why she is so guarded.
She opened up and trusted Jill, showed Jill all of her insecurity and wanting a family but knowing she had to support herself….so she worked…hard..and just as she was seeing the fruits of her labor…BAM…Jill turns on her and wants everyone to do the same.
Is it any wonder she has boundries everywhere, including Jason and his family.
Dating, pregnant and married all within a little over 1 year, lots of changes.
I guess what I am saying and thank you for listening, (love everyone here),
I still love Beth, warts and all, I may love her warts most of all, she has earned them.

    • Nancy says:

When Bethenny was crying outside of Jill’s apt after the “We’re done” comment, it broke my heart. What a bitch Jill is!

      • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

I agree Nancy~I couldn’t watch it again. I am doing good & staying busy. Called humane society today & it looks like I will be volunteering there at least a couple of mornings a week. They only have kitties now but it’s just like being here. Clean boxes, feed them & water in bowls ~ sweep floor & play with kittens..
I cannot believe that Vinny person keeps saying how great JZ is. It has to be Jill & her gay husband. I would love to find out.

        • Adgirl says:

I think he wants to be her real friend so he sticks up for on this “hate” blog.
          He’s a reality star stalker.

          • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

            Hi Adgirl~
It’s just so unreal that anyone would stick up for her here~go to her website & do it. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to be her friend unless he is really JZ.
And if he is a stalker at least stalk someone worth stalking like Lynn or Quinn. lol

          • Nancy says:

Adgirl, you are brilliant! Thats it. You are 100% right. He wants to be Shrill’s friend. How sad.

        • California35 says:

I hope he is watching those episodes….

          • justanothermary says:

I don’t believe for one minute that he hasn’t watched every episode since day one. I am convinced he is a fraud planted by Jill and her minions. I would really like to be wrong on this one, but even Virg was mentioning that he was either a plant or an idiot and he writes to well to be an idiot! Granted, he is much more clever than her usual BS so it seems she put some thought into this one, but he has Jill stink all over him.

        • Nancy says:

How are you feeling? Please let me know. I’ve been in “recovery” for years now and I must say it hasn’t been easy all of the time. I’m soo proud of you. In my opinion it will be the hardest thing you’ll ever do in your life. Let me know if I can help you in any way.
          P.S. I hate Jill Zarin.

          • BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

Hi Sweet Nancy~it is getting easier thankfully since our yard is full of green leaves & flowers blooming.
I still get craving in my mind but the physical symptoms are mild now. Just being here helps so much. Takes my mind off me. lol
I didn’t know you are in recovery too. That gives me more hope.
Hugs & love to you & thank you so much.
P.S. I will always hate Jill Zarin too! lol

    • California35 says:

      I agree 🙂

By the way – I am recording those to watch them over, although I am considering it since it was so painful to see. I do want to watch though, and I mgiht just fast foward when it gets to tough for me to wathc (and the boring scenes also). I remember those slow scenes when Jill is making noise in the kitchen when her daughter was getting some tutoring or something. Another boring scene when Jill goes for a walk at the park with Luanne. And can’t forget the other scene when Jill is talking to Kelly, and tells her that she uses the word “like” a lot. WAIT all those are Jill’s scenes WITHOUT Bethenny, and with her new friends…lol

    • Zipit Zarin says:

Great insight about her being so guarded, katlg. I could hardly believe Foghorn’s stone heart when Bethenny was reaching out to her in confusion as to why the big fight and why it got so blown out of proportion. Foghorn seemed to absolutely hate her. And now we know where it came from. After seeing F say they never had a real friendship, I believe SHE was never a friend. You can’t just turn on someone out of the blue like that if you ever had any feelings for them in the first place. Then when B got engaged the only reason she turned on a dime and wanted to rekindle the friendship was because it would make her LOOK bad, not because she really cared for her. All of a sudden she says they had so much history and were great friends. AS IF. Bethenny was a good friend to YOU, ya cold hearted witch. I was so glad Bethenny had her epiphany right there on the street outside the restaurant. And now look how she reverts back to her bitch self after it’s clear Bethenny won’t fall back into her clutches. “We never were friends” I’ll just never forget the image of her leaving her crying in the street like that. Who uses people like kleenex and throws them away like that??? Psychopaths, that’s who.

Hello all, hoping everyone is having a wonderful day! I’m going to go on and off topic, but i’m trying to catch up!

    1. Congratulations Mary! Good to see you can see! 🙂 Virg did an awesome job keeping you abreast of the conversation here and what was shown on tv. I knew he was a keeper when he said Kandi was dressed like WilmaFlinstone! Loved it!

    2. Bethenny selling her SGM must have driven the NY wives and TMAN crazy! So much success in so little time after leaving the show. Mazel to Bethenny and family!

    3. Gina and the blessing. A few of the comments here were making it seem as Bryn was being taken away from B as a sacrificial offering to a native entity! For crying out loud, they were talking in English with an accent and were not barbarians. They were baptists dressed in clothes of their country. Customs are different, and while B could’ve been distraught over the baby crying, she had to know her baby was not in immediate danger. Was it a baptism or a blessing is the question. Looked like a baptism to me. Maybe Gina felt a loyalty for Bryn and her soul, because of Bethenny’s refusing the sacrament of baptism. Wrong? Absolutely. Right in her mind and heart? Absolutely.

    4. Camille and Kim are coming back! Yay! But the buzz, put out by Kyle&Co., was that Faye was coming on too. How horrible. If Faye were to come on it would continue to be the Kyle show. She’s got Lisa and TaylorsaurusLips up her bum, to add Faye would make it a Kyle lovefest. Camille and Kim wouldn’t stand a chance! They need to add some new blood that isn’t enamoured of VileKyle. They should bring in BrandiGianville and her sidekick Cedric. That’ll cause some drama!

    5. The DC housewives are cancelled? Well if it had to happen, it couldn’t happen to a better bunch. Who the hell did they think they were, banding together, refusing to film with the Salahis? Um hello? The Salahis were the only point of interest in that show. Without them it was like watching paint dry! They took a page out of the Joisey handbook, and it didn’t work for them. They seemed to forget that the Joisey numbers were a juggernaut compared to the paltry DC figures. I wonder who had the brilliant idea? Cat or Lynda? Well, when you plot to take away people’s livelihood, bad things happen. Right Carolinebacker?

    6. Albert Manzo lied about living in the Brownstone to get an appointment on the water commission for a measly salary but got health benefits and a pension. Carolinebacker supported him throughout, but he decided to resign before the investigation further scrutinized his financial records. You know the ones where he claimed income taxes, property taxes and homestead exemptions on the Franklin Lakes property. He should be brought up on fraud charges and ethics violations, as the Brownstone was used for county and city events which would be a conflict of interest. Caroline said it best, they are thick as thieves and crooked too! Karma baby!

    7. OMG the OC. These women have lost their minds trying to hold on to that damn orange huh? ALEXIS is being made a fool every moment she refers to TalibanJim’s love and kindness. Soon after declaring his affection, we see a clip of him bossing her around and demeaning her. The love and respect she gives is not reciprocated by Jimbo. It looks like he can’t stand any of them. GRETCHEN has evolved into a shrieking nutbag, who seems intent on picking a fight with anyone at anytime. She’s gone after Tamra, Alexis and her very own TubbaWubba Slade. I once thought they loved each other, but what i’m seeing is a decades old marriage, not a hot and heavy courtship. I guess you get what you pay for! PEGGY is intent on making herself out to be envied by Alexis. While there may be some competition, darling you didn’t invent closet sex! Kids start kissing in the closets and adults start _____ in them! Get over it! VICKYGunvulson has finally lost it! Her daughter’s trying to leave, Don will leave and her employees should leave! She is totally inappropriate with her crew, but must pay them well as there aren’t any lawsuits pending. Vicky is utterly nauseating to look at. She is not aging well at all. Her dresses are too tight and she’s spreading like Tamra in a tub! LOL TAMRA has lost her mind. In her attempt to shake off the shackles of her trophy wife image (yeah right!), she’s gone straight forge ahead to ProstitutionNoir! The woman who criticized the younger, single, childless, GretchenCristine, has gone ahead and filmed softcore porn to the horror of fans and her family alike. Many believe it was to get back at Simon, but I think it was to prove to the world what a hot tottie she is. Simon was obviously holding her back, with the old your a married mother of four, chestnut. Now that he’s gone and this new guy doesn’t care how she comes across, we will see her unfiltered, unbuffered and undressed! Yuck. PDA’s will be aplenty and we will all be forced to endure it or change the channel. I’ll watch! I won’t like it but DammitJanet, i’ll watch and talk about it! 😉

Something we did last year, and thought we wouldn’t do it again…but with all the rain we are getting we remembered why we went last year. To have a nice sunny weekend :-). We also want to see the Grand Canyon, I have never seen it. I have to check it out on line to see what else is there because I have no idea. It will be a roud/side trip, and that will be fun. I also am trying to plan a trip with mom, but those never happen lol there is always a lot of talk, but we end up not doing it. This year, it was going to be a cruise down to Mexico, but it already seems like it won’t happen. We should see.

I know I’m flying my hate Gretchen flag today but gacccckkk!!
I can’t stand her pageantry hair, jackass cackle, Slade’s-magic-pene and her trashy my little pony pink handbags with the huge GC plastic logos applied.
Alexis a just not a very bright person. But she doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in her body. She is lucky to have a great figure which she accentuates all the sexy parts with silicone. But that’s it. She is dumb, sweet, sexy & devout. That was painfully obvious during her one-upmanship with Peggy and their kids, and then who has more sex in closets. Note to self, Lysol all closets before I move in.
Gretchen is hard, cynical and self absorbed. She said she loves to visit her friends in Palm Springs because they tell her how hot she is all day. Isn’t that nice? I thought she might actually enjoy their company.
I’m sorry but Gretchen is not busy running her little empire of plastic sweatshop purses and makeup. She isn’t any busier with “bidness” than Alexis is so her outrage at being called a princess is just using Alexis for a feud storyline.

Alexis is too dim to realize what happened. She thinks Gretchen is really mad about being called a Princess. Duh.

IMO Gretchen was certainly screwing Jay while she weeping on camera about caring for the dying Jeff. There are plenty of photos of Gretchen and Jay online. Many came from Gretchen herself. He was with her partying with her family during the “Bass Lake” incident. She is a liar in my book.

Tamra is exactly what we all believed her to be. Trashy aging party girl. Again, I don’t think she is out to hurt people. She is having a midlife crisis – just look at the amount of botox and fillers in her face. Tamra is punching her Joan Rivers ticket right now.

    • HD says:

Girl wasn’t that funny when Gretchen said, (in regards to her friend in Palm Springs) “we have a great relationship. They tell me I’m hot.” Girl,I died laughing!

I do have to say and I could be wrong but I think Gretchen was offended by the Princess thing because she caught the heat being with an older man, having him pamper her and he was dying. I think she has been called a gold digger and a princess and I think that may have bothered her. Tell me, Adgirl, do you think she really was in love with Jeff. I could never really tell. Yeah, I might be naive. What was your take on that?

Tamara’s face looks a hot mess. It looks swollen.

      • justanothermary says:

JMHO but Gretchen loved the life style Jeff gave her and she had to keep up appearances in order to cash in when he died. When she found out there was nothing left I’m sure she felt cheated and I think that’s were a lot of her anger comes from. She’s showing her true self this season and she’ not tough enough to handle the backlash from the fans. I’d bet she’s in the running for most hated by the end of this season.

      • Adgirl says:

Well to me watching Gretchen on camera with Jeff, she loved the attention and gifts. I thought at the time if they were really deeply in love he would have married her so she could have a say in his medical treatment and later have SS benefits.

Her off camera behavior- I do not believe you are “in love” with a dying person if you are also attending racous parties with your single male friend, kissing him with tongue in photos and taking him alone with you as a couple on weekend trips to party with your parents.

If nothing else, the level of disrespect to Jeff was epic.
        That is not love.

        • Sha2000 says:

Not to defend her, (not at all) but it’s a mutual thing the way I see it. These men have to know if they were penny-less they’d never get a girl 35 years their junior. Mutual using.

          • Adgirl says:

Agreed. Mutual using. Just don’t tell us it’s romantic love.

          • Amber...RealWife says:

ITA He was in the racing business and knew the groupies were there for the cash and prestige. No other reason! A fool and his money are soon parted, just like an old man chasing after a younger woman will soon be departed. Of course Gretchen wanted to make love to a doughey saggy assed senior instead of a virile thirty-something ish man. But not to be outdone she did both! Let’s not forget that GeezerJeff had the last laugh. He was able to sport her around and have her care for him, yet never married her. Gretchen was unable to close the deal and just got the ring, a house, a bike and a bit of money, while his kids rightfully got it all.

  41. quincyil says:

I have studied season four of RHNYC a lot. I had trouble understandy why Alex and Simon made peace with Jill Zarin after all of the things we are watching today with the rerun of season three. I think it’s attrition. Jill Zarin is relentless and she just wore them down to the point that they gave up. At the end of season four, everyone will be on Team Jill at least in name. In their hearts they might hate the way she treats them, but they are not going to stand up to her. It actually made me sad to know this. Andy Cohen will probably had to do another WWHL reunion for NY as they hold hands and sing, “Kumbaya, My Lord, Kumbaya.”

    • HD says:

Quincy, I agree. Alex and Simon will always try to “fit in”.. It is like back in high school. Everyone wants to be friends with the popular/mean girl and she may be mean to the nerd but no matter what they will ALWAYS want her attention and her acceptance.

    • Adgirl says:

It takes a lot of mental toughness to stand up to bullys.
Additionally, Alex and Simon probably realize they will never have the upper hand in this feud. Jill just doesn’t like them and thinks they are jump ups blemishing the prestige of her show. Jill can afford to be mean because there are zero social repercussions to her.

It’s like a lawsuit. Alex & Simon might be “right” but agree to a settlement anyway because there is no upside in continuing. It just costs too much emotionally and financially to go on and on.

      • Nancy says:

What in God’s name is Jill going to do when “The Housewives” are no more? This is her ENTIRE life. Being in the medical field I will find it interesting.

      • justanothermary says:

The fact is the social-climbing wannabes of season 1 are still in Alex and Simon somewhere. At some point the Bethenny/Pill story became bigger and Silex was given a better edit. Pill is still a big part of New York society and Silex needs Pill a lot more than Pill will ever need them. I think they relize the show will one day end and they will still want the Pill connection.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

didn’t Bethenny say something along those lines with Ramona on the Brooklyn Bridge?
“She won, it’s OK- if I win, then we all lose- she has all of her people , her whole crew- it’s ok, I don’t want her to lose- I’ll lose, so we all can win” or something like that.

slightly OT: what the hell was going on with their makeup last season? Literally applied the eyeliner with a trowel. Looked like they used a big fat Sharpie pen all around Jill’s eyes.

Although…don’t hate me ’cause I’m beautiful, hate Jill because she looked beautiful in the walking through Central Park scene with Luann. Jill looked really, really good. Very pretty. But I still hate her.

      • Adgirl says:

I love Jill’s hair. I don’t always like her clothes but she does have a good eye for color.

        • quincyil says:

I think she tries new styles which is good. She looks nice and had style, but I hate the way she treats good people.

      • katlg says:

When I rewatched that it showed (to me at least) Beth is a team player and was seeing the bigger picture,(more than just herself), so when I hear all of them say now they don’t need Beth and it is better without her, it makes me wonder how smart they really are.
Beth had their back and they and IMHO, the viewing public seem to forget that.

    • Nancy says:

Maybe Alex & Simon feel like they are superior to Jill now so they just don’t care what Jill does or says? The clip of S4 where Jill is gossiping about Ramona and Alex’a colour of dress choices at some wedding Alex sure doesn’t seem like she’s intimidated by Jill anymore.

  42. DJ Loops Fruit says:

Dont know if this has been mentioned yet but Bravo finally gave the dc housewives the old heave ho

Well, what we long suspected would happen has indeed happened. Bravo has canceled their much-maligned Real Housewives of D.C. disaster series after one withered season. Nobody liked or watched the show, so this is not a surprise. Well, to us anyway. Maybe it’s a surprise to the horrible wraithwomen who populated the series? Obviously I’m speaking mostly of the two most hated women, Tareq and Michaele. Though, in their own mind-world that they create and operate, they’ve already won Oscars and are the co-presidents of the United States, so they’re probably unfazed. “Oh, we’d be upset, but you know, we’re doing our sold out international tour and we have so much business on the moon to tend to, so it’s really OK. Really. Do you like our house? It was built by Marie Antoinette and then flown here to the Virginia wine country by a pack of white doves.” They’re untouchable, those crazy ladies! [Radar, so granted it might not be true]

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

they stole my white doves! I’ve been looking everywhere for them

    • Adgirl says:

I want Cat from DC to join the NY show.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

IMO, Bravo has a new sheriff in town (Comcast) and they are likely giving the directive to take down some of the HW franchises. Truly, there are just too many shows/locations and viewers are getting over exposed and losing interest. Low rating shows should be axed. Both DC and Miami are one season, low viewer investments.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Andy seems to fancy himself a celebrity instead of an executive and that is not a very smart career move.

    • Adgirl says:

So Andy is acts like entitled jackhole. Who knew?

hmmm…I knew that NYT article was all fluff. Although he was really nice to you, Lynn. Maybe he has a drinking problem.

      • Nancy says:

Every WWHL Andy has been drinking. I have no doubt Andy has a drinking problem. I can’t believe BRAVO lets him drink (on camera) every week. It’s beyond bizzar.

        • quincyil says:

So many have drinking problems. Jill Zarin never drinks. Did she have a problem at one time or is she just like me a natural teetotaler?

        • Sha2000 says:

I think it’s just part of the clubhouse lounge feel.

    • VAgirl says:

I think the last line of the article is a hoot. Something like Jill Zarin would give up her only child for that much press in less than a month. LOL!

      • Nancy says:

Jill HAS given up her daughter at times for press.
Sending her to a “fat farm” on TV! Who would do that to a daughter? Ally’s college interview. The modeling shoot. I could go on & on.

    • California35 says:

    • quincyil says:

I have wondered that too. At the end of season three, I stopped liking Bobby.

      • California35 says:

yeah, that too. When he confronted Alex, I think that was the very first time she did something I didn’t like. I was like, wooo back off. He didn’t come accross as he was defending his wife, but as attaching Alex. . . even if he wasn’t aggresive. He is getting involved in Woman fights. . .

        • Nancy says:

I wonder if Bobby watches the show? When we do see Jill and Bobby together she put’s on her “nice” cap so maybe he really doesn’t have a clue.

I love doing this too, but I never can get the paint to look nice even with expensive brushes. If I was going to change my kitchen cabinents from stained to painted, I think I would strip and then use a sprayer after a lot of practice. The kitchen is the most important room in my house.

Most of the furntiure shows are throw away pieces so I have no problem playing games with them, but you should think twice about re-finishing true antiques. I would ask a dealer’s advice before stipping them.

I have had house tours in New Port, RI and Providence where the tour guides were on the restoration committee. I also talked to a woman at the Mark Twain museum in Hartford, CT.
There are books available on these subjects at Amazon.

  55. boston02127 says:

How in God’s good name can Kelly justify her BREAK DOWN on this show? She would have been better off telling people she went to some type of rehab for a month or so instead of calling it a break thru.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

I know it was a breakdown because she looked really, really rough. Like really, really, bad.

      Literally. 😉

  56. boston02127 says:

Rachael Zoe & hubby welcomed a baby boy, named Skyler Morrison Berman, in Los Angeles.

  57. boston02127 says:

Get your coco ready……Jill’s fall on the ice is coming up.

  58. Mookies1mom says:

What I’d like to know is after Kelly’s obvious breakdown is: How can Bravo bring her back? They all said it was way worse than what we saw. I can imagine, I worked in the mental health field for a long time. I mean they were actually locking themselves in their rooms and Bravo decides that she’ll be ok for another season? I can’t blame Bethenny for not returning and exposing her baby to that. (Or Jill for that matter!) I can’t even watch the re-runs of it because it was so disturbing to me. I know I’ll probably still watch the new season because I want to see what kind of ass Jill makes of herself. The minute Kelly goes off the rails again I think I’ll be out. But I will keep up through the re-caps provided by Lynn and Q either way.

    • Nancy says:

I totally agree and why hasn’t CPS showed up at her door? I’m speechless.
BRAVO should be ashamed of themselves.

    • error404 says:

It’s disgusting IMO and I refuse to watch s4 for this very reason. Watching mentally ill people derail for “entertainment” is one step above feeding christians to the lions.

      • lovemamaearth says:

        Good point, Error.

And regarding Jill, Alex was right she came in without an ounce of humility.

Watching it all again reminds me of just how badly Jill behaved last season. I’d really like to know what happened to Kelly after last season, if she got help etc.

        • Nancy says:

          Per Kelly…”Get help for what?”
          I kid you not.

          • vilzvet says:

Right, Nancy. On all the reunion shows she blankly stared back at Andy and asked that exact question.
Bethenny was furious and just gave up.

      • indy anna says:

I agree with you Error. I simply cannot put myself through season 4 of the RHONY. After season 3 I felt I needed a long shower to wash away the uglies. Thank goodness Lynn will blog and keep us informed.

HD—The repeat of The Celebrity Apprentice is on tonight at 8:00 on channel CNBC. Each week on Friday night the previous Sunday’s show is on. (I didn’t want you to think that I forgot you) 🙂

    • HD says:

Thank you, Boston. I will be sure to watch. I always miss it Sunday. These shows are taking over my life. LOL!

    • LavaLady says:

Hi Boston – I see you were sick yesterday. Are you feeling any better today?

      • boston02127 says:

I am feeling better. But the past 2 mornings I felt good in the morning but as the day went on I’d start feeling very nauseous. I bought some Pepto Bismol and I’m going to bring it with me today and hopfully will be better. Thx for asking. 🙂

        • butterisafruit says:

Boston do you think it’s the place you’re working that is making you ill?

          • boston02127 says:

I’m not sure. I work at a dance school with children. I talked to my aunt last night and she told me one of her friends has been sick with a stomach flu. I think that may be it.

            • butterisafruit says:

OH that most likely is it. Maybe if you chew on a plain lifesaver, not sugar free. It will help calm your tummy through the day. The carbon helps settle your stomach. I hope this goes away fast. It’s very draining.

  64. BaaBee Loves Kitties says:

    Good morning Boston & HD

  65. VAgirl says:

Good morning, all. It’s cold here in VA, too.

  66. butterisafruit says:

Morning All. I just saw the pictures. That little baby is gorgeous, California. She’s so peaceful. And Lavalady that’s a fun shot of Bethany and your sister. That’s exciting. I love it when you people post the pictures. I really do.

Makes the housewife drama seem (Anu Garg word of the day)…Taradiddle…= Pretentious Nonesense. That email hit my in box this morning and I thought WOW how fitting.

    • HD says:

I agree…the baby is TOO CUTE! And LavaLady with Bethanny makes me feel like I was there too! Represent for the team!

  67. boston02127 says:

    LOL, Kelly’s ironic tweet—

Oof. After the rerun of #rhony, the fans go kookoo. learn the lines, act it out with friends tonight. Happy fridayy
“The fans go kookoo” HA HA—She really see’s herself thru magic eyes! Nutcase.

    • quincyil says:

The reaction of fans must have affected KellyKellorenBensimon’s Universe. She normally has a parallel time line to our reality. Something happened when Bravo replayed Scary Island dinner and Kelly came to our Universe long enough to tell us that she noticed the shock of millions. She has returned to her parallel timeline now. Jill has confirmed that there is nothing wrong with Kelly.

      • Nancy says:

I’m sure it wasn’t only Kelly who had a hard time yesterday during the marathon of NY Housewives.

    • Adgirl says:

Sounds like Rocky Horror movie. LOL.
“Satchels of Gold!” and we all throw a baggie of “gold” bubble gum on the stage.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

I was thinking Rocky Horror too! Kelly is an actress and Scary Island was her greatest performance……sad, so sad.

    • Adgirl says:

      “The fans go kookoo”-A-DOODLE-DOO.

(Coo, coo, ca-choo, Mrs Robinson. )

      • vilzvet says:

LOL I figured Kelly was responding to tweets sent to her so I went and checked them out. Here is just one:

        MoonInLibra LunarLibra
I am now certain that @kellybensimon isn’t playing with a full deck. And if her publicist sees this tweet, please STOP her from tweeting.

        • butterisafruit says:

Painful isn’t it. Andy can have her. I’m not going to watch anymore. I’m feeling abused.

          • Adgirl says:

We need to start a 12 step anti Kelly-Aid club.

My name is Adgirl and I have serious addiction to KKB’s public displays of neurosis.

(FYI not mocking friends of Bill W who are serious in their quest.)

  68. boston02127 says:

I just got done drying my hair, doing my make-up and eating toast while reading the blog. I’m off! Have a good day everyone.

  69. error404 says:

I never get backlash. Page 6 in the NYPost ran a blurb on WWHL’s bus ads and how everyone is poopooing Andy for appearing in them. Um… it’s a Bravo show and he is the “Star”. The time to question is not when the ads appeared, but back when a producer decided to host his own talk show that seemed to have no purpose other than to promote the RH shows. Where was everyone then? Why is it ok for a producer to have his own show, but not ok for him to appear in the adverts for that same show? Hypocrites much.

    • butterisafruit says:

I don’t get that. Trump endorses HIS show.

      • HD says:

I don’t get it either. What are they saying, Error?

        • This is the NY Post article that Error is talking about:

Bravo insiders are snickering about an expensive ad campaign green-lighted by network president Andy Cohen hitting New York buses, phone booths and taxis — featuring the perma-tanned face of, you guessed it, Andy Cohen. One told us, “It’s all about Andy Cohen. Even though Season 4 of ‘Real Housewives of New York’ is about to start on April 7, the ads to promote Cohen’s show, ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ are all over town.” A Bravo source said the campaign will appear here and in Chicago and was green-lighted by the marketing department. Bravo declined to comment.

        • butterisafruit says:

I get what she means, this is it.

Page Six is reporting that BRAVO execs are laughing at the networks new ad campaign. Why? Because it’s all about Andy Cohen people! New York buses, phone booths (they still have those??) and taxis are going to be splashed with the perma-tanned face of…Andy Cohen! A la Carrie Bradshaw in a see-thru pink dress. Well, not really. Someone who works for Andy told Page 6, “It’s all about Andy Cohen. Even though Season 4 of ‘Real Housewives of New York’ is about to start on April 7, the ads to promote Cohen’s show, ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ are all over town.” Ha. Well, I guess he can do what he wants, right?! I actually really like Watch What Happens because it’s just that, you never know what’s going to happen and Andy has a way of making fun of some of the housewives without them realizing it. That’s my favorite part. I know, I’m not proud of my behavior either.

          Bangs n Cupcakes: It’s Andy!

  70. Laura says:

    I hate Jill Zarin!!!!!!!!!

And just have to share….Petite giraffes like seen in the TV commercials….not sure if they’re really real or not…but they are just so cute! The broken English descriptions crack me up…there is a supposed live web-cam set up so you can see one living on the farm…

    • Adgirl says:

You’ve seen the(telecom) commercial with the faux Russian billionaire? He has a micro-miniature giraffe jogging on a mini treadmill watching real giraffes on tv running on the Serengeti?

      • Laura says:

Yes I have seen it….that video and another one are on that link as well…I even called the 1-800 # and its clearly a Russian man, telling you that they don’t have any new calves but if you want one, to be sure and get on their wait list. I’m # 125,429 on the list !!! LOL

  71. Noreen says:

    Good Morning!

Love the pictures of everyone and their families!

Love that Bethenny is tweeting about her book tour and shows she will be doing and Kelly is in hyper-defense tweeting about scaryisland.

    Love that it is Friday!

  72. butterisafruit says:

    Totally Off Topic.

My husband is in a rehab center. His nurse Carlene, has the most amazing singing voice.
She studied opera, and is an accomplished vocalist. You can hear her off an on singing to a patient before they get their medicine. Or to perk up someone who isn’t responding well.

April 14th she’s going to try out for Simon Cowel’s, X Factor in Newark, NJ.
She said she has to have three songs. She’s using two of Barbara Striesands and one of Liza Minelli’s.

I hope they air her singing. She has a terrific range.

    • Adgirl says:

@ Butter- I have been remiss. I am so sorry about your husband. I don’t know why he is in rehab.
In any case, please accept my sincere hopes & prayers that all will be happy for you & your family, and the operatic nurse too. Nurses are everything when you are in recovery.

      • butterisafruit says:

Thanks AdGirl. He’s had a host of problems since last summer, starting with congestive heart failure, then numerous strokes in the cerebela. They’re not paralyzing but they affect balance and depth perception etc. Then he had colon surgery last month so He’s been dumped on quite a bit. Wed we found out he has A.L.S. Lou Gerhig disease.
Which is probably the reason I’m here so much now and can’t stop babbling. Maybe it’s to keep from thinking of the inevitable.

You’re so right those Nurses are wonderful, not only patient but kind.

        • Adgirl says:

Geeez. Terribly sorry about the multiple issues. Your posts are always so fun. I would not have known.

          Bless your family.

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

butter…I didn’t know you were having such a rough time. Stay strong.

          sending you love…

          • butterisafruit says:

Thank you ladies. I keep in my brain, …It’s just one more thing. I send my love back to you. I have to get going now. Have a fun LynnFam Day.

  73. AZ Girl says:

Reading all the comments from watching HWONY re-runs last night and as always Jill just infuriates me, Kelly scares me, and Ramona makes me laugh.

  74. Kashma says:

Actually Richard is a very nice guy. I went to his restaurant, which is an awesome place by the way. I wrote him to tell him how much we enjoyed it, and he responded within days thanking me. Pretty impressed that he took the time to acknowledge it. Shows he has class and appreciation for his fans.
Antonia and Mike set up others to fail constantly, while Richard has constantly helped others out and yet know one acknowledges that. He came up with the whole concept that won the Restaurant Wars, he helped Antonia with the Tongue challenge, and I think he even helped Mikey once too If I remember correctly. He would have even been willing to help Fabio if he asked with the burger challenge. Actually surprised Fabio didn’t ask being they were such good friends. Has he come off arrogant??? Maybe….but when your competition is coming to you for help…..can you blame him?
I think the final four should have been Carla, Richard Dale and a toss up between Antonio and Marcel…..but happy Richard is there. He deserves it hands down.
