I Hate Jill Zarin Is Bethenny Too Thin? Real Housewives of New York

Is Bethenny Frankel Too Thin? or Naturally Thin?

What is too thin?  Isn’t healthy the most important thing?  Did Bethenny really get back into such great shape after giving birth the natural way?

According to Bethenny Frankel “The truth is, I was healthy before and during my pregnancy and afterward the weight just came off”

We know that it’s true that Bethenny was thin and in good shape before she got pregnant, we’ve watched her for three years on The Real Housewives Of New York.  She has always been thin and as a natural foods chef, she knows how to eat properly, cook healthy foods and regularly does yoga.

Is Bethenny skinnier now than she was when we first met her on The Real Housewives of New York?  January 2008 Bravo introduced us to Bethenny, owner of Bethenny Bakes and Personal Chef to the Stars.

Season One Bethenny was pretty skinny

These are the kinds of side by side photos running in tabloid magazines hinting that Bethenny has lost too much weight but the after photo taken in 2009 was before she got pregnant.

Bethenny’s weight loss tips in her book are sometimes questioned as controversal, she tells her readers to “taste everything, eat nothing”.  Taken out of context that could certainly sound like an unhealthy way to lose weight and be healthy.

After reading Bethenny’s book, I better understood what she means by this.  So many diets (a word she doesn’t use at all) deprive you of certain foods, what Bethenny is trying to say is to go ahead and eat what you love, just take a bite or two.  (easier said than done for most of us)  Bethenny talks a lot about portion control, she advises to use small plates and tiny ramekin cups as your serving dishes.  Eat slowly and excercise frequently.

We see Bethenny eat on her show, is that all just for filming?  While she was pregnant she was eating frosting right out of the can for breakfast.  We watched her eating a pasta meal at her in-laws home and preparing meals in her own home.

Bethenny tweets frequently about restaurants and street vendors in New York where she has eaten excellent meals.  When she travels she posts requests for restaurant suggestions in her destination city.

The photo above taken in November 2006 was probably Bethenny at the heaviest we’ve ever seen her, there is an evident pooch in her tummy.  Five years later she has clearly lost weight but she is she healthy?  She certainly looks healthy, so how did she do it?

Bethenny likes to eat, she enjoys food.  I think she’s learned to eat properly and in moderation.  She has will power and that is the key to any successful weight loss program.

Bethenny talks about her childhood and how she struggled with her weight as a kid, she claims to have tried every diet program available and that her mother was fanatical about weight loss.

Bethenny talks a lot about her Yoga program, after Bryn was born Bethenny tweeted many times about doing her Yoga, she seemed to enjoy it.  Of course she was also selling her Yoga DVD at the time.

What do you think?  Is Bethenny healthy or did she lose too much weight too fast?  Is she scary skinny?

Kelly Bensimon

A message from our resident research genius, Harvey:

Kelly was shown arriving but not staying at the charity event that Ramona had purchased a table for… here’s what Harvey found:

Harvey found out that there is a Mr. Gucci. His name is Georgio Gucci and he is a descendant of the original Gucci, but has no association with the House of Gucci, which the family sold in 1998. He has a luxury brands company called Georgio G. He is an old man who hadn’t been to the U.S. in 20 years prior to this charity gala, which was held on 9/29 at the Pierre Hotel. So it is highly unlikely that Kelly knew him, much less knew him well enough to receive a personal invite.

There were two events – an open party for which tickets were $350 and a private after-party for which tickets were $500.

If he had invited Kelly, it would have been incredibly rude not to stay, and we now know why she didn’t stay, she was likely invited to purchase a ticket like anyone else. She didn’t want to be with old people like Mr. Gucci and Ramona. She wanted to be with her 20-something pals, because she can’t accept that she is 42.

So she went off to the Stella Artois launch:

Real Housewives of New York – Season Four by Quincy IL

March Madness

It’s All About Sonja, Part One

It’s the break of day at Sonja Morgan’s townhouse and the coffee has not kicked in yet.  Sonja welcomes Luann who is dressed in a White Shift and Sweater for the MENA/marriage equality march across the bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Sonja is having her hair and makeup done by professionals unlike season one when she prided herself on being able to do such things for herself.  A crown is placed on her up swept hair and the mood is set for the day.

Luann arrives in a white shift dress with a sweater. She explains that her wedding dress is in a museum.  Sonja just happens to have a collection of wedding dresses on hand from a designer so she offers Luann her choice of gowns for the event.

Sonja makes a pre-emptive strike.  She explains to Luann that MENA called last night to ask her to be the Grand Marshall of the event.  Sonja explains that they wanted her because she was so light and funny and such a gay icon.  She concludes the description with “so I agreed.” It seems that something made Sonja feel that she had to give an explanation on camera right away.

Sonja and Luann  discuss what dress would look great on Kelly.  They try on dresses. Sonja can’t zip one off the shoulder dress up, but she loves that dress.

Kelly arrives with a bouquet of white, yellow and orange flowers for Sonja.  Sonja thanks her and reminds us of Kelly’s other gifts: cleanse and scented candles.

Alex arrives and she thanks the other women for participating in this important event. Sonja immediately thanks everyone for coming to her “special day.”  Sonja states that she knows the ladies are big supporters of Sonja and the event.  Alex states that she is actually on the committee while Sonja gives her the look.  The battle has been joined.

Kelly speaks to us in an interview, “I don’t know if it is Sonja’s Day or Alex’s Day.  I was there for the March for Marriage Equality.”

Alex tells the ladies that she pushed Jill and Ramona to come to the event yesterday at the wedding in the Hamptons.  Alex explains that she tried to keep the drama out of the wedding out of respect for the bride. She begins to lecture the ladies about the meaning of the march, but Kelly says, “Let’s just have fun!”  The other women agree.  Luann doesn’t want an infomercial from Alex. Sonja asks, “Was that a public broadcast?”  Alex feels put in her place  for good reasons.

Sonja states that she is the Grand Marshall numerous times as the color of Alex’s face begins to change. Alex tells us in an interview that it is about the cause, not a person, but Sonja is not getting the message.

At the march, we hear one of the speakers state, “The founding fathers would be rolling over in their graves if they knew that this nation remained so bigoted, intolerant, and unequal.”   The Real Housewives of New York City”  come out of their black limo in their designer wedding dresses and are laughing about the fit of their dresses.  They check out how each other look and go towards the photographers for their photo session.

Sonja again thanks the other housewives for all of their support and undivided attention on her big day.

Alex meets with Simon who is wearing a rainbow jacket with sparkles.  He informs her that they were told that as a part of Sonja’s agreement to be Grand Marshall, she insisted that she be the only one to speak at the rally before the March.

Alex tells Sonja that they just got a call from the organizers saying, “Simon cannot not speak and that you (Sonya) would be the only one.” Sonya replies, “Yes, it’s about me coming to speak.” An argument ensues. Sonya is angry, “I am not having this conversation.”  In an interview Sonja tells us, “I think as a friend Alex should have supported me and swallowed the pill, OK?”

Alex and Simon discuss the situation.   Alex states, “She is speaking and we are not.”  Alex tells Simon, “It’s like being hijacked.”

Sonja is upset and she giving her speech to Kelly in preparation for her address. Alex is bothering her as is Simon.  Simon shouts, “Your ego is getting too big, Sonja.” Sonja angrily replies, “No, it’s not my ego.  I am scared to death to do this.”  Alex interjects, “The whole thing is that they cancelled Simon because you wanted to be the only one.” Kelly adds, “We are embarrassing ourselves.”

Luann, in an interview, tells us that Alex’s and Simon’s timing couldn’t have been more worse. It wasn’t about her, it was about gay marriage.”

Alex fights again, “Why are you being so exclusive?  Just one word from you and Simon can speak.” Simon is frustrated and now silent.

Jill Zarin and Ginger, her dog,  arrive.  Jill has on street clothes. The ladies greet Jill. Alex says to Jill, “I am glad you came.”  Jill goes on the attack, “Everyone knows I had a wedding and that I was not coming.” She screams at Alex to leave her alone several times.  Jill tells Alex, “You’ve been picking on me since you saw me.  Just leave me alone!”   Alex looks dismayed.  Alex tells Jill, “I am glad that you are here.” After a few minutes, Jill tells Alex, “Let’s just have a good time.” She forces Alex to touch her hand in agreement. Jill kisses Ginger with her lips and Ginger licks the inside of Jill’s nose.

Sonja begins her speech with a huge smile. She says, “How’s everyone doing?  I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be here. I get to say something that is on my mind, Love.   Love is equal. Same sex marriage is equal.   Alex tells us in an interview that the rally was about “same sex marriage being legal.”  Alex states that Sonja got marriage equality confused with gay pride.

It’s raining and the ladies are walking across the bridge to Manhattan.  They are smiling for the cameras.  Alex leads the cheer and the others follow.

Preparation for Future Conflict

Cindy Barshop is at home in her kitchen with her brother discussing plans for their parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. Cindy can’t take the nannies out of the country so the party has to be in the USA.   We get a play by play of Cindy’s brother’s and Ramona’s issues which concern a dead friend of Ramona and cigars.  Cindy tells us that she has heard things about Ramona and she wonders about her, despite her comments on Ramona, Cindy tells us that this is between her bother, his girlfriend and Ramona.  Ramona will be invited and everyone will have to get along.  She and her brother have to discuss the big house they will rent in the Hamptons for the summer and the size of their boat.

Feelings Run Deep

The wedding march is over and they all go to Alex’s home in Brooklyn to celebrate. Jill Zarin says, “I am not spending energy on things that are inconsequential, unimportant and petty. Alex is speaking to Jill, “We have to talk.  We can’t pretend all that stuff didn’t happen.  Not now, go to Australia.  I don’t know how I feel, but I am willing to talk about it.  Jill Zarin and Alex hug.   While hugging Jill Zarin gives Alex a piece of her mind, “Thanks for throwing me an olive branch.” Alex is shocked.  Francois runs into the room dressed in Simon’s rainbow jacket.  Alex says, “Don’t climb up her leg.”  Jill plays with the boy and tells him, “You can climb up my leg. You can climb up my leg.” Alex takes a drink from her wine glass.

Simon speaks to his guests and explains that if he had not found an Alexandria, but instead, an Alexander, he would not have been allowed to get a fiancé visa, a green card, a job and US citizenship.  He would have had to go back to Australia.  Sonja is confused.  She wonders if Simon is trying to tell us something. She wonders about his clothes.  Sonja confides, “Sometimes, I would have had him go back to Australia.”

Let’s Slay That Girl

Sonja and Luann meet for lunch to discuss Alex and Simon.  Sonja felt that she was the victim of a dry by shooting.  Luann whispers, “They are so annoying. She was going after Jill.  We know that you (Alex) care about this cause  so do we.”  Sonja, “Well said.”  Luann said, “She found her voice, but now her voice is aggressive and no matter how hard she tries to climb up the social ladder once you get to the top you have to be comfortable with how you are and she is not that person.” They both drink wine.

Housewives Being Charitable

Ramona has purchased a table at the Gucci Fundraiser and she didn’t invite Kelly Bensimon because “Kelly can be a whackadoodle.”  Alex explains her perspective of the event at the equality marriage march and Ramona listens.  Ramona tells us that she knows Sonja and this doesn’t seem correct to her. She does not want to take sides.

Sonja arrives with Kelly who was not invited by Ramona, but rather by Mr. Gucci. They pose for photos and Sonja remarks that she came with a super model.  Ramona freaks about the table setting and does not like surprises, but Kelly says, “Hiiiii,” then leaves without dinner.  Kelly describes her relationship with Ramona in an interview, “I know who she is. Friendship with boundaries. We can forgive, but we can’t forget.”    Ramona tells us that the other ladies want to pretend that what happened didn’t happen.  She states, “It’s irresponsible.”

Ramona sits next to Sonja and tells her that “Alex is spewing all this stuff.”    They hold a conversation while Simon and Alex are at the same table eating and listening. Sonja explains that she was about to get on the stage in five minutes and they were saying, “They cancelled me.  Why are you doing this to me?  Blah, blah, blah.”  Sonja said, “I was shaking like a leaf and that we all love our gays in New York so back off.  I give them respect and I demand that they give me respect.  I am not a doormat.”

It’s All About Sonja, Part Two

Sonja invited the housewives including Alex to her portrait revealing event featuring the artwork of Brian, her boyfriend. Alex arrives in a designer dress.  Sonja shares with Alex, “I adore you.  We had a great time in St. John’s.  I never want to have Simon, is that the name of your husband?, in my ear like that.  Like he’s such a big guy and he was in a sparkly jacket and he was in my ear.”  Alex stood there and her jaw fell open.  Sonja said, “It was horrible….”  Alex said, “Actually, what was horrible was using the entire event to make it about you and not marriage equality.”  Sonja said, “Actually, everybody’s eyes went to you off of the wedding march because you were making it about you.” Alex again tried to explain, “No, that is not the case. This was something that Simon and I have both been involved in since July.  We were on the committee and I was supposed to speak, but we decided that Simon would make a speech instead of me. If you would just look at the website….”

Sonja said, “I am going to cut you off because you make no sense. They called me in the spring.”

The fight continued with the ladies chasing each other around the space, saying the same things, and no listening to the other person.  Sonja then started hurling insults, “You turned into a Bridezilla.” Alex responded, “You kicked him off of the podium.” After more sparring, Sonja began to tell Alex to leave. Alex agreed, but wanted to make her point first.  Sonja began to shout, “You need to get some manners.”  Luann and Cindy came to the door and Sonja walked away. Alex told Luann that it was none of her business and left.

Sonja now shares her version of the story with Luann and Cindy.  Luann says in an interview that she would have helped Sonja toss Alex out of the house for wearing a dress that reminded Luann of some kind of S&M bondage kind of thing.

Alex calls Simon from a dark street.  She tells him that Sonja said it was all his fault. In an interview, Alex tells us that she is 37 and has never been thrown out of an event before.

Ramona arrives at Sonja’s townhouse and listens to the gossip.  They unveil the painting of Sonja.  No one seems to like it.  Cindy says her boyfriend would be her boyfriend if he painted her like that. Ramona didn’t like it, but if Sonja likes it that is the important thing. Luann takes a photo of Sonja with the canvas from her phone

Q: “What do you think? ”

    A. That’s it’s none of my f-ing business! LOL

“So she went off to the Stella Artois launch:”

Umm… launch? They’ve been selling SA in the US for a decade now!

    • quincyil says:

It was one of those Lea Black/Cristy Rice moments for Kelly. She made her appearance and was filmed for the reality show. She got a reaction out of Ramona.

Here is another link from Harvey.

      • quincyil says:

BTW, how many people have a pooka who can google? I didn’t have to teach him, he just watched me and figured out how to search. Harvey is a very gifted 7ft white rabbit. He does spend a lot of time out under bushes, but that and shedding white hair on the couch are his only bad habbits.

      • error404 says:

So… it’s a reward program, like the little badge I have on my key chain for shopping at the grocery store. The more dosh I give them, they throw me a free frozen Turkey once or twice a year.

Oh, and if Tinsley was there, then it mush be “society” LOL!

      • Kansas Girl says:

I bet Stella herself invited Kelly to be there.

Who ARE those people? I’ve never heard of them. But they seem to be having a grand old time, just like the people in the old Dr Pepper ads.

In the format of the housewife talking heads interviews:
Do I think Bethenny is too thin? Yes
Do I think Bethenny has an eating disorder or is engaging in unhealthy eating habits? No
Do I think Bethenny would look better about 10 or 15 lbs heavier? Yes
Do I think Bethenny’s thinness is from overwork and stress? Yes
Do I think Bethenny had a boob job? Yes
Do I care that Bethenny hasn’t copped to a boob job? No
Is is really any of my business? No
    Do I like Bethenny? Yes
Do I think Bethenny is a smart businesswoman? Yes, Yes, Yes

      • plainviewsue says:

Agree with each of your bullet points! I “met” Bethenny when she was out on Long Island promoting her book, and I have to admit I thought she was way too thin. Remember, TV adds 10 pounds, so my friends and I were pretty surprised.

I def do not think she has an eating disorder.

      • Mookies1mom says:

        Sing it sister!

    • Agt says:

I think Bethenny looked better in the 2006 picture. She does look a bit stressed and unhealthy in 2011 pic…even Jason told her to eat more when her jeans weren’t fitting on lat episode. 10 lbs wouldn’t hurt. And I do like her.

    • twoile says:

      @VAG, ITA< very well stated=)

  3. Dawn says:

Previously, Bethenny was thin but no particularly toned. She has a small frame and she isn’t too thin.

  4. fort lauderdale gay says:

Considering this week’s show theme, what I found interesting was who wasn’t in attendance…..Jill’s “gay husband” Brad. Last year or the year before, there were rumors that they had a falling out. There was the story floating around that he had accepted some work in Dubai, and that he and Jill were still quite close. I would have thought he would have at least gotten a mention…
As a gay man, I did find one of Sonja’s comments especially offensive. She referred to us as either “our gays” or “the gays”. There is a tendency among straight people to treat us as either pets, toys, or fashion accessories, to be taken down from the shelf, enjoyed and when finished with us for the day, put us back on the shelf, not to be utilized until the next time it benefits the player.
Marriage equality for me is a civil rights issue. There are many legal advantages that automatically come with marriage that are unavailable to gay couples, even in the states where gay marriage is legal. Social Security and insurance benefits being the most obvious. Immigration for international couples is another important benefit that I would like to see the USA embrace.
I especially appreciate Alex and Simon’s support because it is obvious that they truly understand the civil rights issues that gay citizens of the USA face and they are genuine supporters, unlike Jill, who uses her support for her own benefit. Jill talks the talk, but doesn’t walk the walk. Several years ago, she hosted a fund raiser at her former Hamptons home for a political candidate who was no friend to the gay community. Under this candidate’s term, the state constitution was amended limiting marriage to straight couples only. Our “friend” Jill monetarily and politically armed the gay community’s enemies. All the while, she was lending her name to gay causes and gave the public appearance of being a gay rights supporter. Jill is about appearances not substance. She talked the talk, but didn’t walk the walk.
I think Sonja is a smart gal and will figure this out. I am pretty sure she will redeem herself and do what she can to make amends.
The Countess owes much to the gay community for the little bit of success the song she barked out last season received, but I doubt that debt will ever be properly repaid. Her single release launch party was after all, held at a gay club. She is one of those who thinks of us as fashion accessories. I would like to know what Andy Cohen really thinks of her. I get the feeling that scratching the back of her ears with her hind legs comes quite naturally to her….

    • Jezzibel says:

The gentleman that wrote the gawker recap for this episode, mentioned that he had seen Alex and Simon at numerous Gay and Lesbian, as well as Aids/HIV, charity functions/committees/campaigns before lending their support, but the only time he had ever seen Sonja Morgan at any such function was the one we had just watched.

    • error404 says:

” There is a tendency among straight people to treat us as either pets, toys, or fashion accessories, to be taken down from the shelf, enjoyed and when finished with us for the day, put us back on the shelf, not to be utilized until the next time it benefits the player.”

and no one is more guilty of this than Bravo’s housewives! I drives me nuts, always has. It boggles the mind since Andy is an openly gay man.

      • fort lauderdale gay says:

Spot on! It drives me nuts, too. I guess you could tell from my post…. I would like to hear from Andy about this. He’s in Miami now at the Miami rally. I hope to find something on You Tube that will give me some insight into what he thinks.

      • mimi0210 says:

It bugs me when they use the term “my/her gay husband”. I think it is demeaning.

        • quincyil says:

I have gay male friends and I feel they sincerely are my friends. I am friends with the husbands of my female friends, but I never would spend time alone with any of them. Truthfully, if I needed help, I would ask a man that I know cares about me. I think this might be happening with the housewives and they are not expressing their feelings correctly.

        • error404 says:

I’ve never heard the expression outside of RHNY, but I’d assumed it was just a variation of “my work husband/wife”, which doesn’t offend me.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

I have heard it before but then i have a lot of straight women friends that do tend to think of me as some sort of pet
its ok though i just sleep with thier husbands when they are out LOL IM JOKING
i can just see some demented person taking that seriously

      • Kotagirl29 says:

Well turn about is fair play, so every gay or lesbian should get a pet hetero.

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

but we cant hold Andy accountable for everything each of these women say or do
Im sure he cringes just like the rest of us

      • nathania says:

It just occurred to me, that the best description for Andy is (and sorry if this is offensive) “pimp”. Does he really care about the moral makeup of his ho’s, what their politics are in relation to his, and which way they lean on this or that issue? No, at least not within certain pre-screened parameters. Andy is all about the benjamins and he really isn’t concerned too much what his ho’s do, think, or feel, as long as they turn a profit and don’t hurt the franchise. At the end of the day, he just wants them to hand him the money. And if they don’t play nice, they get Staubed, in the back (and front and side).

      • Karen says:

True , but Andy has the last laugh, doesn’t he?

    • quincyil says:

I agree with your assessment also.

In the blog for “Pregnant in Heels,” I noted that one of the women wanted a gay assistant. The star, Rosie Pope, said that she knew why as she had LT. I think this is part of your argument also.

    • cusi77 says:

@FLG_I completely agree with you. With Sonja is about… her. With the government is about …. money. Calling “Our gays” was like treating human beings as pets or servants. It is like JZ said in S1 “everyone should have a gay husband to go shopping” What the heck?

      • HD says:

@FLG, You better say that! I loved that part that Error quoted. I don’t know why people do that, like that is cute. If someone would say we love our Blacks or our Mexicans all hell would break loose. Like Gays is a thing or something. Like its fashionable to have a gay friend. One of my bestfriends is gay, known him since high school and that stuff ain’t just cute when his dad kicks him out the house because he is gay and he comes to stay with me, or watching my other bestfriend succumb to his AIDS status just last year and doing his obituary. I could go on and on. I have many gay friends and they are not “my gays” they are my friends! BAM!

        • fort lauderdale gay says:

Exactly! My gayness is only a portion of my identity. My friends and loved ones are my friends and loved ones. I don’t label them according to some preconceived societal feature. We are friends because we care about and for one another. Period.

          • BlueEyedGirl says:

I think it depends on the person you are talking to and how they take your relationship.. I have a best friend who is gay and he always calls me his fruit fly and we joke that hes the Will to my Grace.. I don’t think I have ever called him “my gay” but I think he would know that our relationship was more meaningful than that..

My cousin also just recently came out and is openly gay and most of his friends are gay and they aren’t “flamboyant” and I think he would be offended at the idea that gay guys are just used for shopping and to not taken really seriously..

He is one of the most important people in my life and he deserves be able to get married and be happy with whomever he chooses.. So I hope more people start respecting everyone for who they are and that legal rights are passed.. I do feel that while people have this idea that gay guys are just something fun to keep around and do not show real support that sadly nothing will come of it.. For Jill to run around and say what she says then to turn around and support a candidate that limits gay rights sickens me.. She doesn’t take her support seriously and honestly it’s probably because it doesn’t affect her directly..

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Donald Trump just recently said something like
          The Blacks Like Me
all i said was yeah good luck with that presidentail bid

i would say i cant believe he said that but then LOOK at him

      • Terry says:

You know what? I’m guilty of saying “my gays” and “my gay husband”. I always thought of it as a figure of speech and personally used it as a way of expressing my appreciation, but after reading what you guys had to say, I will never use the term again. Lesson learned. And profuse apologies to all. I didn’t mean it to be demeaning, and I didn’t mean to offend, but I did offend and I’m sorry.

    • NJ Bev says:

      Dear Fort Lauderdale gay,
What I love about what you’re saying is the way you’re saying it-
Very eloquent. I always thought the housewives had a very condescending
attitude with their gay counterparts, but when you put it in terms like a
“toy to be played with until they’re bored and put us back” it really
puts it in complete perspective. Thank you for opening my eyes further.
      On many things.

    • lovemamaearth says:

Good comments. Kathy Griffin talks about her gays too and they seem ok with it in her audience or when she had her show. It seems to refer to a group, like if you were a Democrat or seamstress or rock climber.

      • MK Valle says:

The difference is Kathy Griffin is a gay advocate or she “walks the walk and talks the talks”

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Kathy has done so much for the gay community and i dont think she uses the term to demean

      • housewifeaddict says:

I’ve heard Kathy say that many times, and now wonder if it is offensive. It’s her reference to her audience base, much like Sonja’s was. Alex also took a lot of heat for introducing a friend as “my day gay”. I’ve never heard anyone in real life talk like that. I live in a very liberal town, and work and are friends with many people who are open about their sexual orientation. If I were to introduce my best friend to someone else at a party, I’d say ” I’d like to you meet my good friend Harvey.” Not my good gay friend Harvey or my good lesbian friend Harvette.

        • quincyil says:

That’s right. I never say, “Please meet my pooka, Harvery. I always say, Please meet Harvey.” Then I hope my friends will be able to see him.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

when Kathy uses it she is doing so to acknowledge her most loyal fans i seriously doubt she would say it if she thought it demeaned anyone
and her gay fans love when she does it

    • Mary T says:

Well said……I thought Alex and Simon were there for the right reasons and none of the other housewives were!

      • fort lauderdale gay says:

Jill Zarin was shamed into attending by Alex. It was certainly portrayed that her real intention was to place her name on the marquee and take the weekend off. My additional opinion is that she must have been advised to attend by her Public Relations team. She did have the most disastrous season of any housewife from any franchise in history and I have no doubt that her every move this season is calculated to prevent a re-occurrence of last year’s PR nightmare. It is unfortunate that she wasn’t even able to pull that off convincingly. She didn’t really want to attend and to me, it showed. Painful as it was to watch, I’m glad that Alex forced her hand and her her lack of real dedication was displayed for all to see. With the current political climate in the USA, the gay community needs honestly motivated, genuinely dedicated tried and true friends to obtain our elevation from second class status to fully valued and appreciated citizens.

I agree Mary ,its also why i think Alex got so upset so quickly over the whole situation
Sonja has no idea how much she hurt herself with that episode
im almost afraid to watch the next one as she doesnt let up on Alex about Simon
also found Sonjas remarks about Simon to be obnoxious

        • BlueEyedGirl says:

I was sooo completely disgusted by Sonja this episode.. She was one of my favorites last season and this episode made me just not want to watch her again.. Her WWHL was just as bad.. She did NOT redeem herself and clearly hasn’t learned anything and felt no remorse.. She should’ve claimed that she was being selfish and apologized.. Instead she said different things about when she was asked to be the Grand Marshall and she thinks we are stupid as watchers to think we wouldn’t pick up on it!

She should have allowed Simon to speak.. Her speech made me completely cringe.. Did you hear how the audience was so not motivated at all by what she said? Simon and Alex clearly feel so passionate about this cause and she was selfish and rude to make it about her..

Also, I don’t know *anyone* who wouldn’t freak out and flip if someone said nasty comments about their significant other.. Sonja said she was trying to break the ice by saying what she said about Simon.. Uhh.. Who would ever take that as light-hearted and nice? Calling someone I love creepy and pretending to not know their name because you think they are beneath you? My heart beats faster thinking about it!

    • NAmerican says:

The moment Jill supported that homophobic politician is the moment I lost all respect for her. We got into a Facebook argument and then she blasted me for even questioning who her friends were. I was a big fan of hers and she attacked me when I simply was questioning her about her association with such an anti-gay candidate (who, strangely enough is rumored to be gay himself), especially when she always seemed to be a fierce advocate of the gay community. She simply could have stated that she was supporting him because he is the husband of an old friend of hers and that it had nothing to do with his politics – that would have satisfied me. But instead she went on the attack and basically told be to drop dead and disappear. What a great way to treat a fan! She really does believe that she is better than everyone else and no one has the right to question her actions or behavior. I initially enjoyed getting to know Jill, I identified with her as I am also a Long Islander that did well and live in NYC (although I did it with hard work and she just married well), but I enjoyed her fall last season even more. She has showed herself to be very self-important, and she is a MEAN GIRL and a bully. She reminds me of my old Jewish relatives that would get angry over the seating plan at a cousins Bar Mitzvah and holds a grudge for 20 years. It is petty and so unimportant, get over it, life is way too short. Didn’t she learn that when Bobby was “dying of cancer” and was “cut ear to ear”! Get over yourself Jill!
BTY, that Florida politician (Charlie Christ – former Florida Governor) has since changed his political affiliation from Republican to Independent to run for the US Senate and eased his anti-gay stance. – He lost the election.

      • fort lauderdale gay says:

I am proud that you are aware of whom I spoke. I also was confused by her support of him and felt the real reason was so she could be an insider with access to the governor in her parents’ adopted state. It paid off pretty well for her, too. She received a $15,000.00 speaking fee to appear at University of South Florida and got to peddle her book, to boot. http://stoopidhousewives.com/2011/04/02/snookis-32000-fee-jill-zarin-did-much-better/ I wrote her and told her the Florida Gay Community needed her help and asked her to speak with Gov. Crist and encourage him to veto the bill that defined marriage in Florida as a union between a man and a woman. I never received a reply and my plea was deleted from her website comment section.

More reasons to not like Jill Zarin. She can spend all of Bawby’s money on a PR team but it won’t help!

        • OneMoreInBoston says:

Thank you for bringing this issue to the blog. I was sorta faintly aware that Jill supported Charlie Christ but I had NO idea he was anti gay!

I wonder if that played a role in Alex’s almost strident insistence that she attend? Now I understand that whole scene a little bit better.
          Oh and BTW-what a f*cking hypocrite!

          • quincyil says:

I thought he changed when he ran as an Independent. I think that a lot of the things he was for for years were tossed aside to get votes for the Senate Seat. I bet some of the Florida board members can tell us more about this.

            • addictedtobravo says:

Sure he has changed – riiiiiight – just like Jill has changed…these people are all about where the wind is blowing and they don’t have an opinion unless a poll or PR person has given it to them.

                From wikipedia

“In July 1979, Crist married Amanda Morrow; they divorced less than a year later.[78] Crist became engaged to Carole Rome on July 3, 2008 after 9 months of dating, and was married[79] on December 12 of that year at the First Methodist Church of St. Petersburg, where Crist is a member.[80]

In April 2009, Crist was one of the subjects of the documentary Outrage, which purports to out politicians who are closeted and opposed LGBT rights legislation.[81] Crist has stated he is not gay.[82][83][84]”

  5. HD says:

Is Bethanny to thin, yes she is. However I don’t think it is an eating disorder or any of that. She is always eating and not just fruits and veggies. This girl can eat! I think she looks like that because she is overworked and doing so much at one time. Also she was already skinny then doing SWTS I am sure just got her more tone so I think that is why she looks the way she does. Lack of rest, being a new mom, new wife, juggling a huge workload, traveling. That would take a toll on anyone.

    • Kellita says:

      I completely agree.

Bethenny probably has a genetic propensity to be thin, and she lives a life where she burns the candle at both ends, so the pounds come off quickly. She seems healthy though, in what she eats and how she works out regularly. She’s my favorite, and I and wish her well.

    • Az says:

Bethanny was breast feeding and that makes the pounds just melt away for some reason. And, besides her hectic schedule, I imagine that training for Skating with the Stars also melted the pounds off of her.

    • housewifeaddict says:

I’m one of those people (a little older than B) that would be better off a little heavier. I recognize it, but my weight always settles on something around 10 pounds less than I want to be. I don’t watch calories, but I do try to eat healthy, avoid high fat foods (thin people can also have high cholesterol and heart problems) and while I love chocolate I don’t eat dessert every day. Bethenny doesn’t look anywhere as think as Rachel Zoe or Nicole Richie, but perhaps she hides it better. Not all slender women have a weight problem. For some of us, genetics (I’m part asian) play a role. What does stand out is Bethenny has made a business about being “naturally thin,” and if she were to gain weight that would be bad business, so I don’t doubt that she monitors her weight more carefully than she lets on.

    • SusieQ says:

I’m a petite, small framed, thin woman and watching B on TV I never imagined B to be as tiny as she was in person. She is very small framed (with big boobs) and doesn’t have an ounce of fat on her. She wore a tight red sweater and black skinny jeans and we all even remarked amongst ourselves that we were shocked at how thin she was. I think because of B’s facial features being so prominent and she was wearing tons of makeup a tiny body just doesn’t seem to match up. She looks hard looking. She looks tired and she looks much older than 40. I don’t think she’s anorexic but I do think she loves being thin because she obsessed about it her entire life.

    • HD says:

I am going to get slammed. I know it. I know many people probably think I am a turncoat or something but I wish Simon wouldn’t blog. I wish Simon would just let Alex be on the show and let Alex blog and let Alex deal with Real Housewive stuff. Why is he soooooooooo involved? You don’t see any other husband/boyfriend doing this to this extent. Even that Salihi guy is not this damn bad and he was pretty bad but goodness. Simon really needs to find a hobby other than Housewife stuff.

      • BlueSky_Forever says:

Simon needs to get a job & support his family.

        • BlueSky_Forever says:

All his blogging could backfire & make people that are Silex fans become former fans. I’ve already lost most of my liking for Simon. Watching Alex to see how she makes out this season. Simon, you are not helping with your bellyaching! Give it a rest.

        • error404 says:

          Shut up! LOL

Sorry, but I’m getting sick of people tossing this insult out regularly. I don’t particularly like Simon either, so ITA about wishing he’d go away a little… but then again I think that about 60% of all public figures! LOL

Simon has a job, and how he supports his family is none of your business. Telling him to get a job is no better than LuAnn making fun of Alex’s clothes. Rude and dismissive.

          • BlueSky_Forever says:

I have my opinion, it’s based on following Simon on twitter. He spends a lot of time on twitter, and it’s obvious that he spends a lot of time responding to criticism. Now he will be hosting his own “show” so hopefully he will make money from his obsession. Wish I was getting paid for watching the shows on tv then discussing it here lol! He needs to respond to just some of the criticism – that way he could make his point & move on. I had to unfollow him because it was just too much. Soar with the eagles, rise above it & just give us the good stuff. A la Bethenny the reality tv super pro. Plus putting their lives on tv makes their business public. We all have the right to express ourselves – not just you. And we have the right to agree to disagree! My point is that Silex seems very stressed this season. Simon is not helping Alex by fighting twitter wars…that’s all.

Thank you Boston. I was feeling really ganged up on here. Rude posting is normally done by trolls. Attack the opinion, not the poster Error & Mary T. Telling me to shut up & get some help? Now that’s rude!

            • housewifeaddict says:

I don’t think Simon could get a “normal” job anymore – especially in this economy. He’s too – well known?? Is that the right way to put it.

He says his job is “social media” I don’t know what that means, but maybe being on twitter 24/7 is part of his masterplan. I totally agree he’s annoying, but I think he is on RHWNY as part of his master plan. I don’t think he’s a big sucking leech like Slimey or the other half of the Salahi duo. I think he and Alex are a team trying to get enough exposure so that when this show is over they will not lose their 15 minutes of fame. It would be next to impossible to balance a real job (like the type where you have to show up every day and work) and the filming schedule. I think of all the women on these various franchises, Alex was the only one who had a normal day job (S1). Everyone else owns a business, or doesn’t have a job outside their home. Most of the husbands own a business (or are athletes (in Atlanta and Miami) and don’t work for someone else in a regular job setting. Simon, Jason1 and Jason 2 come to mind as exceptions – and all seem to have lost their jobs as part of their involvement with the show.

              • quincyil says:

I don’t know what social media is really either. I do know that a lot of people made a fortune with facebook and other web sites.

I don’t think Jason Hoppy lost his job. He may have decided to work with Bethenny because the opportunity to make money with her many businesses was there and she desperately needed an educated people to help her. Jason was in sales and has a business degree and an accounting degrees. Bethenny does not have that education so they compliment each other. Smart people see oppotunity and they take that risk.

              • Wicked says:

Omg! Total epiphany moment. Every HW husband who doesn’t own his own company get fired. Tamara’s (OC) ex fired 2 jobs, Vicki (oc) Don fired, Slade, NeeNee’s husband & Simon (NY). This list is only the shows I watch.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

I do like Simon always have
Its very rare these days when you find a pro gay heterosexual man
and you dont find it much on the housewives
so its almost a breath of fresh air for me
its also just as annoying when people twit him over and over questioning his sexuality as if because he is pro gay he automaticly has to be gay to me thats as bad as being treated like a pet

          • BlueEyedGirl says:

Anyone and everyone can blog too.. Sometimes its just a hobby.. If you don’t like him and his blogged then don’t read it..

Also, I think Simon is so involved because he loves his wife and maybe that’s his way to show support.. Some guys are more actively involved and some aren’t.. In the beginning, I think Simon was more backed off and then saw how Alex was being treated and now wants to help out and be a support system for her and maybe be a little protective..

I also agree that saying he needs to get a job is a little rude.. We see a few minutes of him and his life and that’s about it.. I don’t think we should judge on that.. If Alex has a problem with it then she will address it..

      • error404 says:

I think Silex are in a difficult position. IMO they are a team and active sought to be on TV as a family. They tried and tried until finally Manhattan Mom picked them up. Then it morphed into Housewives and what were they going to do, quit? Even their book is about family/kids and probably was in the works before RHNY gave them the push to get it published, so mission accomplished. Now they are IMO somewhat unfairly maligned because they are on a show they didn’t particulary sign up for, but don’t have better offers. They’d dump RHNY for a show about families in a heart beat. Trust.

But HD, what I Suspect is the real issue here, ia that Simon isn’t very likable or popular. Even if they did have their own dream show ala: Tori and Dean, or Guilliana and Bill, I suspect we’d still be commenting here “Ugh, more Alex less Simon please!” LOL

The HW’s all toss out the stupid insult of “he wants to be a housewife” whenever Mario or Simon or anyone else says something witty proving themselves vastly more interesting than the dull HWs. Sonja dig was a dig at him being a desperate fame whore. Pot, meet kettle.

        • housewifeaddict says:

I’d rather watch Simon than Eddie smootch Tamra, or Slimey wiggle his way back onto OC with his third housewife (yuck, yuck, yuck). Simon is Alex’s husband. How much Bravo shows of the husbands or doesn’t show of the husbands depends on what they do. With 7 housewives, giving up screentime to Simon must be frustrating to the other cast members – but Bravo is going to show us the interesting stuff; we can’t fill an entire hour of Luann’s boyfriend saying nice things. Mario got a ton of screen time in S2 with the tennis spat, and a little in S3 with the Countless remark. Simon got way less S2 when he started to get along with everyone. I think people need to get over the idea that the men aren’t part of these shows. They are. The Salahi’s also came as a pair. And in Miami, that one mom got more airtime than some of the housewives, and the other’s claws came out over that. It’s a show. They are trying to get exposure to sell their merchandise or gain enough popularity to get another show when this one is cancelled. That’s it.

          • quincyil says:

I agree, the show is Mario and Simon van kempen as much as the new girl, Cindy and her brother.

I have had a secret crush on Simon for a long time. The reason is I see him as a truly loving husband and great dad. I love his wacko outfits and his digs at Jill Zarin.

I thought he was funny as the IT/physical trainer/expert at modeling photos. LOL. In fact, Simon is Lucy Riccardo to Alex’s Desi Ricardo even though she is not Cuban and he is not an red head. He is the funny one and she is the serious one who just can’t believe the trouble the funny one gets her into.

There are lots of couples like this. I remember George Burns and Gracie Allen on tv. One set up the other. I think of Simon and Alex as playing off each other.

Bethenny and Jason Hoppy are doing this also.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Elsa the mom on miami was the most interesting character
she was bright funny and could tell a lot about a person in seconds

sadly almost everyone focused on what happened to her face rather then on her as a person
it was also one of teh reasons i enjoyed Miamis branch of teh housewives so much more then most of the others
            OC has become the worst
NY is no longer fun to watch
wont stop me but i dont really enjoy all the haterade being drunk this season

      • lovemamaearth says:

It’s easy to avoid. I love that Jason gets a talking head shot now and then. I’d like all the husbands to get a chance when they’d like to. Adds perspectives. Just think what Bobby could tell us. lol

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

you also rarely see any husband on these shows as supportive of thier family as Simon either
        he enjoys doing it
if its not something you enjoy reading then just dont
some of us do enjoy what he has to say
its nice to get a different perspective from a mans point of view

        • HD says:

DJ people do come here and post because they have varying opinions. We all do not think alike and we are not always going to agree. It is a cop out to say don’t read something. What are we all doing here? None of us watch housewives and say we love it all the time. Just because you do not like something doesn’t mean for the purpose of conversation or whatnot you won’t read it. I happen to read most of the links people post so that I can speak from an informed point of view. However, for your information, I don’t read Simon’s blog thank you very much, I don’t tweet, I am not on any of his list to get Simon information. I read it once since Lynn posted it. Simon is not a housewife so why he is blogging and THAT interested in the show baffles me. He would do well to get a job and I am never going to stop saying that. Having a job is not making tea while your wife is working or where your wife has to remind you no drinking during lunch.

Also, Error, I am quite shocked at you. You cannot say shutup and put LOL behind it and think that, that wipes out the fact that you just me or Blue Sky to shutup. Just as I told DJ, people can have an opinion. If you are sick of hearing it, that is your problem. I get sick of things too but I have never told another poster to shut up. You say that but in the same breath say something was rude and dismissive. No, you were rude and that was uncalled for. It is foolish to think we all share one brain as if no one is ever going to have a different opinion. Highly foolish. Tossing out that LOL at the end was just about as passive aggressive as Luann. If you don’t like something keep it moving.

Kelly is another Cristy crashing events. I suspect she does this all the time because she is really only there to have her picture taken so she can twitter it. I think she is trying to get Kmart to give her a commercial. Another twitter from her this morning about stuff she buys at Kmart. Is jillous out of town or sleeping because I cant believe she didnt set Kelly straight about her plug yesterday for Kmart bedding and not hers. I think the reason Jillous fashion is so outrageous is because before last season, Brad was pretty much styling her or at least trying to control her fashion failures.

    • BlueSky_Forever says:

Kelly must be getting paid for those tweets by Kmart.

    • Kansas Girl says:

But how did she get in the door? There must be someone at the door checking tickets or names on a list. I just can’t fathom how she got past this process. We know the Salahis were told to wait somewhere else, out of sight of that first check-in that they didn’t pass, and then they just evaporated from there to the party. But was Kelly told to wait? It looks like she walzes in on her name. I don’t get it.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

well, I think Kelly “picks her victims” That event hardly looked like the White House.

        • housewifeaddict says:

I agree. I’ve gone to events when you check in and get your table assignment – but they have security per se – more like event registration. Many of these people were guests of someone else who bought a full table (like Ramona had done).

BWT how gracious was it for Ramona to try to cover her embarrassment of having not invited Kelly but Kelly showing up anyway by quickly finding a place for her. I remember Kelly saying she hadn’t RSVP’d for Ramona’s renewal ceremony as well – what a nightmare of a guest she is.

Anyway, I think most of us live in a world where we’re asked to buy tickets to a fundraisers so that the events can raise money. We buy the ticket, and then depending on the price of the ticket, and the type of event (formal versus very casual) show up. The Guicci event and Lea’s fundraiser were definitely the types of events where they expected you to stay, and perhaps even spend more money at an auction or something.

Kelly’s actions indicated to me that she was only there for the publicity. She didn’t purchase a ticket, or she would have sat at one of the tables. I don’t think showing up and being seen helps out the event at all. If they lent their name to the cause and were on the printed material, that might get others to buy a ticket, but I doubt that was the case for Kelly.

It was a little rude of Ramona to ask everyone else and not Kelly – although I do understand why she did it.

    • nathania says:

with the dress in the museum thing I think I finally might understand Kelly. Here is this girl who has the world at her feet from the time she is in her early twenties. And she really thinks it’s about ‘her’. Meaning, the inside part. And then she gets a bit of age on her, and the world comes crashing down, and she realizes it was never about her insides, it was about her outsides. Now that the outsides are shopworn, the world has left the building in search of other twenty somethings to worship. That must be devastating. She is kind of like the child star that never gets used to losing the tween fandom once they grow up. Only she’s living that in her forties.

She of course is more blessed than 99% of the world’s population but instead of being grateful she has to be, well, Kelly. Deep inside she probably thinks that she’d have been better off if she’d worked on developing herself as a human being instead of focusing on the world of looks. That’s why she attacked B. so much last season, because this is what B has done, and her accomplishments can’t be taken away from her because they are hers, she earned them.

I think I just put 2+2 together. Leafing through the blog post on the stoopidhousewives site I read the funny captions about how Sonja’s birkin is a fake. It popped into my head: why would a woman carry around her bag in her own house? Like someone said before: the house is probably already under bankruptcy proceedings so she’s not living there anymore and just there for the filming.
I think it was a deliberate plan on Sonja’s part to invite Alex to the party and kick her out in front of the cameras and the guests while screaming “get out of MY HOUSE!!!”. She doesn’t want anyone to know exactly how far she’s fallen but the picture doesn’t lie, she’s walking around her own house like a guest.

      • Az says:

I thought Sonja was carrying her purse around because that’s what old ladies do: they take their purses with them everywhere. I mean, seriously, am I the only one who watches Golden Girls?

        • Zoey says:

          lol, good one!

        • ann little says:

LMAO, LOVE the Golden Girls!!! but Sonja fancies herself as a youngin’ so I don’t think she’s carry her bag around at home. Plus, doesn’t she have some peon to do that for her?

        • BlueSky_Forever says:

lol very funny. Anyone wonder how Sonja protects her jewels & valuables when she has all these parties at her home? I wouldn’t want all these people coming over for such a large party & knowing there might be people trying to get upstairs into my stuff! It almost seems like a business for Sonja. Maybe she collects a fee for providing the venue?

          • OneMoreInBoston says:

right? There is a very unlived in- unloved vibe going on in that townhouse. It reminds me of a model home in a subdivision.

      • NJ Bev says:

@ann little, you have a valid point.
I know of 2 families in town who live in very large houses.
Both are going to lose the houses, but the way the forclosure
market works around here it takes up to 2-3 yrs. to get finally
“kicked-out” of the house. what usually happens first, and could be happening here, is that they no longer can afford to heat the
house or keep the electric on. I wonder if Sonja lives in the
house full time? can you imagine what it costs to maintain that place? Maybe she just stays there when her daughter is with her.

      • quincyil says:

I thought she was out and they were decorating her house while she ran errands. I carry my purse into the house when I come in from town. I bet she just jumped out of a black limo. LOL

I gained about 35lbs when pregnant with my son, and lost much of it from the birth, fluid, etc, and not long after through breastfeeding. By a few weeks after his birth I was back to normal. I was certainly not an exercise junkie, but I walked most every day during my pregnancy and stayed in shape.
I didn’t do anything special, I think it’s taking normal care of yourself, it’s your genes, and it’s a matter of whether it’s your 1st, 2nd or more pregnancy.

I was shocked to hear how many people were surprised that Bethenny looked so good so soon after birth. You also have to remember, she delivered early. I gained the most weight in my last 2 months! I could not resist hot dogs and chili!

OT there was some discussion about the abandoned pets in Japan & what’s being done to help them on the last blog. Here is a woman talking about it on Anderson Cooper & her website if you want to help her rescue the pets. It’s heartbreaking to see the animals left in the nuclear disaster zone….

here is Isabella’s website for helping the abandoned pets in Japan:

This story brought me to tears. It hurts to see those dogs abandoned, bless this woman for helping them.

    • JKW says:

It’s heartbreaking to see the abandoned pets in Japan. However, if you want to help closer to home, check out the shelters in your area. Dogs are abandoned all over the US. Most shelters are so full they have to euthanize the dogs to make room. There are breed rescues that only foster that particular breed…along with all breed rescues who take any and all breeds.. that pull dogs from shelters and into foster homes. If you can’t help by adopting or fostering there are tons of transports run every wkend…usually bringing dogs from the south to the north or just getting an animal to a rescue. Coordinators make up a “run” sheet and people sign up for a “leg” that is in their area. Usually that is a 1 hr/60-70 mi trip where you meet someone and then drive to meet the next person until the dogs get to their foster or adopting family. This is especially true for puppies (all dogs ) since the North has stricter spay/neuter guidelines. I have fostered moms and their puppies and litters of puppies, bottle fed puppies and adults that would have been euthanized. There are prison programs that match dogs with prisoners to train them and the prisoners learn responsibility and unconditional love. There are loads of listings on Craigs list with people dumping their dogs. There are pilots who devote their time and resources to flying dogs from shelters to a rescue. There are programs for guide dogs and even a rescue that takes dogs from the military when they can’t keep their dogs. With all of that there are still daily calls and emails from shelters begging rescues to pull dogs. There is nothing wrong with these dogs….only the owners who dump them for whatever reason…and some of them are very idiotic. Sorry for ranting about this but there is help needed in the US also.

      • VAgirl says:

Thanks JKW. Please let me continue your post. During my search to rescue another dog (I already had one), I saw and talked to many people on Craigslist who had the flimsy reasons for wanting to dump their dogs. Please, please everyone, if you are looking to get a permanent pet, think about the long term commitment. If you are military and have the possibility of having to move someplace that doesn’t allow dogs, please don’t get one (you might consider fostering instead). Also, if you are planning on starting a family in the future and thing you might not have time for a dog, don’t get one. Imagaine how a dog must feel when they are tossed to the side because a family “just doesn’t have time for them anymore.” How sad. I finally got a dog from a high kill shelter who had a couple of days left. He was owner surrender and I think he was surrendered because he is very very active (to the point of hyper). I’ve only had him a week and already love him. He is a project, but I am retired, don’t plan on moving, so I have the time and resources (yes, that’s also important) to work with him to make him a wonderful pet. Thanks for letting me vent.

        • NJ Bev says:

VAgirl-great story, all the love and patience you
give the new dog , you will get back 10 fold.
But you already know that. 🙂

        • JKW says:

Great VA girl !! … so happy you went to a shelter. I have quite a few dogs from shelters and some I am fostering. I help out a VA rescue that pulls dogs from their local shelter with fostering their puppies. I am in PA and help locally with pulling adults from our local spca. The puppies are adopted quickly around here. I have a couple puppy mill dogs which are very sad. The excuses to dump the dogs are usually of the owners making. Of course the dog pees in your house…you leave him for 12 hrs or you never taught him. You adopted a cute little Lab puppy and SURPRISE…it’s now large and you are in a small apt. It’s very disgusting. Anyway, fostering is a great way to see if a dog is the right pet for you. Driving transports is also a wonderful way to help out. Donations are great since most of the time more money is spent on the dogs than the adoption fees.

          • Kotagirl29 says:

My first pet once I left home was a pound puppy and then I adopted two cats too. I now have four dogs who are all rescues. There are lots of great animals at shelters that need good homes.

Thank u blue sky. Imagine some poor animal watching their owner crushed to death in an earthquake & smelling and hearing their death (animals can hear & smell better then us)
Or their owner placing them in a safe space & not being being quick enough to save themselves before they are washed-out to sea by the tsunami!!
All in the end to die a painful death from Radation poisoning from the melted nuclear reactors.

I’m going to send out these pages u listed to my friends. Thank u for doing this.

I do think that Bethenny is skinny but I don’t think she has a eating disorder. My sister has had four kids and she normally wears a size 3 and after giving birth for each one she would leave the hospital wearing size 5. Within a week or two she would be back in her 3’s. She eats all the time but she just doesn’t gain weight. I wasn’t blessed with that gene but I wish I was. LOL

    • Zoey says:

Wow, don’t you just hate people like that? Ok not hate, but really envy! Their metabolism is just way different.
I didn’t worry about weight gain during pregnancy, I just assumed I would get as big as a house! Luckily my body bounced back, though some things were in different places… I lost all my boobs, for one! I certainly have to watch what I eat in my every day life. When you’re that small or petite (I’m not) like your sis and Bethenny, 5 or 10 lbs can appear to be (and is) a huge difference!

  16. Amber...Real Wife says:

She does look a little thin in some shots. However, I don’t think it’s an eating disorder but more of a stress and excercise issue. During filming of SWTS she was on a grueling schedule which made her thinner yet. DWTS is notorious for making people lose weight with the high octane practices, and SWTS appears more strenuous yet. After the show, it is probably her stress with business and filming BEA that now has the naturally thin girl eating less. Jason, last week, told her to eat more while she tried on jeans she felt were to baggy. Let B come to any board members home for 1 week. We’ll put a little fat on those bones in no time! LOL

“Thanks for making a face and throwing me off that bridge.” Alex is shocked

This above was Never stated during the episode. The exact statement by Jill was, “Thanks for throwing the olive branch.”

You know extending an olive branch is a sign of peace. It is an offer of reconciliation.

    • ramonacoaster says:

Yes I heard that too. “Olive branch”

    • quincyil says:

I listened to it several times. I will go an listen again. When Jill said it, Alex’s mouth dropped open.

This is in Alex’s house during the hug. Honestly, I used the remote and really listened. Then Alex was so made she said that about climbing up Jill’s leg.

I will check it again right now.

      • quincyil says:

OK… It’s Olive branch…. It’s mumbled…. but you are correct, I will fix the blog.

    • I don’t even remember what Jill said to Alex. I kept zoning out during RHONY because it was so boring. 😦

    • LynnNChicago says:

Thank you. But now, I absolutely don’t understand why Alex got so angry. If Jill offered an olive branch, why would Alex angrily tell her son not to climb up Jill’s leg. It does not make sense to me at all.

  19. AZ Girl says:

I am just amazed at Kelly and her appearances. She much get paid to show up at these events. What 20 year old wants a 42 year old mother hanging out with them at a bar. I remember my schedule when I had kids the ages of her daughters. Weekends were filled with sports, sleepovers, birthday parties..all of which meant I was a taxi driver for the weekend. Does Kelly spend any time with her kids? She is one big 42 year old kid.

    • AZ Girl says:

      “must” not “much”

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

      Agreed (surprise!)
I was just thinking that when I was looking over the pictures of her at the Stella event.
Kelly really lives her life like she’s still 19, skipping from bar to bar. She probably didn’t stay at the charity event because there were too many grown ups there. Not cool enough for her!

      • BlueSky_Forever says:

Some of those photos were a little embarrassing…I wouldn’t want my kids to see me behaving like that at a bar. She seems to be getting her freak on at Stella party.

Hey there. As everyone knows, this blog gets so many comments that it can sometimes be impossible to get through them all before making your own comments. Therefore, I apologize if the comments that I am about to make have already been made:

    1. Bethenny, in the March 2011 picture posted above, is way too thin. whatever the method, the result does not appear healthy. The Evil Sonja wrote somewhere that, although she feels that she appears “fab” in real live, she fells that she looks “chunky” on camera. The same is probably true for Bethenny and all of the wives. You look heavier on camera than you do in real life. When you look too thin on camera, you must look thin to the extreme in real life. Bethenny needs to gain 10 or 15, if only for buisness. She is not looking healthy . . .

    2. With everyone speculating on what Jill has had done (so much more than she has admitted), I feel that it’s disingenuous for all of us to ignore Bethenny’s obvious implants. She is so thin that it’s impossible to deny. The skin on her chest sucks right around the implants. Kelly’s are awful, and Bethenny’s aren’t much better. I love Bethenny, but I hate dishonesty! Bethenny has huge implants, and she should acknowledge them.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

        • quincyil says:

We are, but every time I say that someone comes to scold me. I had to go back to some long ago blog recently and I was admonished by a poster for talking about how I valued the people who posted on this blog. That poster hit me over the head with a baseball bat because I said that. I did not respond, but I was shocked to see how many people from the board disagreed with that protesting poster and they too felt the spirit of this place.

      • VAgirl says:

Me too. I’M SO OVER IT!

      • nathania says:

yeah but she so obviously has implants in the 2009 photo.

her implants are not subtle. Her implants almost have their own SSN#.

though I have come to the conclusion that just about every single woman who has notoriety of this kind with large breasts has implants. and the more they insist they are natural, the more likely it is that they are not. all of the following have them in my opinion, meaning I have seen photos where it’s obvious they are implants:

        Lindsay Lohan
        Angelina Jolie
        Salma Hayek
        Christina Hendricks
        Scarlett Johansen
        Britney Spears

and of course Bethenny may have had hers taken out but she had some reintroduced. Natural breasts DO NOT have a crescent shape around the top. Her 2005 photo underscores this. They don’t have the c shaped line because it’s fat tissue and there is nothing there to make such a hard line unless there is an implant trapped in a capsule and screaming to get out.

That being said though I really don’t care whether she admits it because it’s so obvious that she has them. I would prefer that celebrities rather than lie just ask for their privacy to be respected. But, whatever, it’s not my problem either way.

    • chismosa says:

Satchels not sure if you’ll see this reply because i’m replying so late, but so as not incite a mob i’ll do it up here and not below:
i agree with your points about the boobs, and i was into a few conversations about such on the past few blogs. The new Life & Style out this week has Bethenny discussing it- it does not clarify what she has now- only notes that her old ones are out. I agree with you about being very genuine and honest. I love B to death more than anyone, don’t get me wrong.
If you want to be on a reality show and be a public persona- guess what? People want to know what you’ve had done. DEAL.

    • BlueEyedGirl says:

I completely agree with your post! I was looking at that 2011 picture and I think she looks unhealthy skinny.. She *does* have good genes to keep her skinny, but I think she is starting to look like a bobblehead doll.. I do not like to comment on people’s weight for the most part unless they are sending the wrong message across and crossing into the realm of unhealthy.. Bethanny is one of my favorites but I think she is starting to look like what people should avoid with dieting and eating healthy.. I don’t know if it’s an eating disorder but she DOES have a lot of pressure to be skinny and she doesn’t look as she was before but toned.. I don’t think she is doing what she should be..

I was shocked at the episode where they said she was what? a 30 G? Holy cripe.. lol.. thats very thin and very big at the same time.. I do know very skinny girls with big boobs but I highly doubt hers are real..

  21. Satchels of Jelly Beans says:

Uh oh! Regretting not having read ALL comments first. Error is always well-reasoned and well-written. It’s the truth, though . . .

    • housewifeaddict says:

Well I agree that on skinny women the boob jobs are obvious. I come from a pretty reserved background, and feel like no one needs to talk about things like the work they had done, or their sex life, or their bodily functions, if they don’t want to. So I do think Ramona was say out of line about asking Kelly about her boob job on TV. That said, if you are going to talk about it, be honest. Either politely deflect the question (Countless and NeNe are good at this), or answer truthfully (Kandi copping to lyposuctions – who would have known). Lying is not a good option.

    • VAgirl says:

That’s OK. It’s safe to speak your piece here. You will come to no bodily harm. LOL

  22. addictedtobravo says:

I think Alex is not “over” all that went down last season and she is going to remind Jill whenever she can about her hurtful remarks. One of them was the whole “climbing up some guy’s leg” thing that Jill launched at her. Alex can’t help herself and let’s face it Jill’s olive branches are from a craft store faux flower section

    • quincyil says:

It seemed to me that and Alex has a gutteral reaction to Jill saying that olive branch statement. She is in a discussion, tells Jill to go to Australia and when she comes back they will talk. That is a form of an olive branch if you think about it. Saying to someone that you have fought with that you want to sit down and discuss issues calmly, is an offer of future peace. Why yell at your son? Alex is making a lot of faces this season. When people say things now, she drops her jaw and argues instead of breaking out in hives.

I know these things are edited and maybe some other words were said to Alex in addition that we don’t hear.

The discussion with Alex at the march where Jill suddenly got upset seemed edited poorly also. Nothing Alex said right before Jill’s reaction would justify the change.

Bethenny said, “It’s never about what it’s about.” I think Bethenny is correct.

I know from personal experience that a comment can be misinterpreted in real life. These women have been awful to each other for years.

  23. housewifeaddict says:

I thought she was jokingly telling her son not to climb up Jill’s leg because he was being a little boy and coming in playfully. I didn’t think she looked mad at all, just trying to make a little joke about how the tiff started in the first place. Alex really looked like she was having a good time at the party at her house. She was surrounded by her friends (true friends) for once.

Jill has gotten a lot of slack for the things she’s said about Alex and Simon’s boys, but the truth is, being around energetic kids can be exhausting for us older folks, and Jill’s comments should not have been said on camera, but I’m sure we all have similar experiences when we’re around kids that are out of control. Jill may genuinely like the boys and still think they are out of control. She just shouldn’t put them down in public and on camera. That’s where the line is for me. She did look like she was trying with them at the party. She has certainly made a bigger effort than any of the other housewives to get to know those kids. (OMGosh am I saying something positive about Jilll – what the heck is happening).

    • housewifeaddict says:

Okay – this was supposed to post under another comment that asked “Why was Alex so angry if Jill said “thanks for extending the olive branch and not thanks for making that face.”

    • housewifeaddict says:

flack, not slack. I need to go have another coffee – I’m having a bad post day – LOL

    • Kotagirl29 says:

Well to be fair it is not the boys fault that they are wild, it is their parents fault for letting them. And Silex’s kids are a bit animalistic. I remember the final episode of season one when one of the boys was using an action figure to mangle first Jason’s burger and when one of the boys was screaming at the top of his lungs. The excuses about it was late, they are young, they were tired just don’t cut it with me. I have a VERY energetic son but there are really easy ways to burn off that energy. He goes outside, he runs, he jumps, he plays ball, at least when he was younger. Now he plays basketball, baseball, football, and is in Karate. If it had been my son acting like either one of those boys we would have packed up and left. Filming or not filming. I didn’t and don’t put up with that kind of behavior. I am also not a parent to make idle threats. I walked out on my family having dinner in a restaurant because my son was acting up. But kids need to be kids. If and when my son feels the need to yell and run, I send him outside to do it.

      • housewifeaddict says:

I agree they should have packed up and gone home. I would have never have expected my kids to struggle through a long dinner like that. I don’t think it makes them bad parents – I think they just made a bad choice that night.

        • Kotagirl29 says:

I don’t think it makes them bad parents either. They just parent differently than I do. I’ve seen a lot of the younger kids on the HW’s shows acting like spoiled brats and little animals. It is not exclusive to Silex. Tre’s girls are shown in a horrible light on NJ. Alexis’ are not much better when she takes them shopping. Adrienne M’s boys were screaming for chocolate milk. My son can be a total douche sometimes, but I have NEVER rewarded bad behavior. If he wants something, doesn’t get, and then has a fit about it, he has just ruined his chances of ever getting it. I discipline him, I say no, and I stick to my guns. I can disagree with the way Silex parent their children without thinking it makes them bad parents, just different than me.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

what sort of mom makes comments like my son can be a total douce at times
if my mom had ever said that about me i would be crushed
im sure you didnt mean it as harsh as it sounded but that was pretty bad

            • Kotagirl29 says:

Sorry it offends you, but all the teenagers I know have douchebag tendency’s at times. Myself included. It was meant to express a point. I don’t run around and call my son a douche, but kids are not perfect and when he is acting like a jerk, I tell him. And we he is doing something wonderful, I tell him. My Mom jokes with all five of us girls how she stopped liking us from the ages of 13 to 19 because we were a**hole teenagers, she loved us, but didn’t like us. Does it break my heart or make me think she doesn’t love me or like me? No. Because I think back and see that she was right, I was an a**hole a lot of time. Now if I were to show this to my son he would say thanks a lot Mom, love you too, call me a douche back and then we would laugh because we have the same sense of humor. It doesn’t always come across well online.

It’s hard to say. I had two really energetic kids less than 2 years apart – and I hated taking them to restaurants and parties that were for adults. They just couldn’t keep still. But if they start misbehaving in a restaurant, you can’t do much but distract them w/o causing a scene. We’ve all been around parents who choose to discipline their kids in public and cause a huge scene, and it’s disturbing. So I’m reacting to Alex from that angle. She had her kids at the party, and needed them to behave well so she spit out a little command. But who really knows. Hopefully they’ll get those boys into some sports – is that possible in NYC like it is in the burbs? That was the ticket for my 2. We just focussed the energy different directions.

      • NJ Bev says:

I think the editors have always played games with us, as well
as the housewives. Editing really does play a huge role in
the way we perceive things. We see what they want us to see,
        to a point.

I realized this during Beverly Hills-Kyles’ tagline was “in a town
full of phony’s, I’m not afraid to be myself”
during the whole season, IMO, subtle things kept jabbing at how that wasn’t completely true, until the final episode
when her own sister calls her the biggest phony.
I think that’s a classic example of a set up—

        really true

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

Q- I think she meant it as a joke because that’s what Jill said about her children in a very derogatory way. Which is why Jill said to the eittle boy- it’s OK you can climb up my leg – trying to show Alex it was OK-which was also an olive branch in a way.

However you are somewhat correct as many a truth is spoken in jest. But I believe that Alex was trying to be light hearted about it.

        • NJ Bev says:

Did we see Alexs’ boys actually trying to climb on Jill?
I didn’t see that-I did hear her say it and I thought it was funny, and I thought Jill thought it was funny, too, as she said that’s alright, as if she were encouraging them to come by her-

          • NJ Bev says:

I must admit that I did not pay full attention to
the show-and did not watch it the 2nd showing.
for some reason this episode made me physically
uncomfortable. I know someone said they
felt the same way yest. I just couldn’t watch it.
I just kept reading the blog and ignoring the show-
It aggravated me, and I’m just disappointed that
another show that i really enjoyed is , for me,

            • DJ Loops Fruit says:

it was harder to watch the 2n time for me as well cause Sonja and her lying upset me to no end

          • housewifeaddict says:

I don’t think they were trying to crawl on Jill LOL. I don’t think they ever even crawled up “someone’s” leg.

I think a friend of Simon’s was horsing around with one of them – holding their hands as they climbed up his leg. We’ve all done that with kids – and the Countless saw and made it into a big deal.

The only time I’ve ever had a kid try to crawl up my leg was if the kid was a toddler and thought my leg was his/her mom’s leg, and started to climb hoping to be picked up. It’s priceless when they look up and realize they picked the wrong leg out of a crowd of legs wearing jeans.

            • quincyil says:

I believe it was a producer’s leg. The producer was playing with the boy and it didn’t bother him at all.

        • quincyil says:

It was her tone when saying it to the boy that made me think she was suddenly upset.

This whole conversation could be edited into existence. They can take Jill’s words to the producer and put them in her mouth as she sits under a tent.

          • WindyCityWondering says:

Alex told her son not to climb on Jill and Jill turns around and tells the kid to climb on her and ignore what his mom told him! Not once, but twice!

        • floridagirl88 says:

Back in S1 the boys were a bit rambunctious and one of them tried to crawl up Jill’s leg. Jill made a big deal about how uncouth the boys were, etc. So now Jill, in the spirit of, um olive branchiness, says to them to go ahead and crawl up her leg.

When Silex was in DC last summer, I thought the boys were quite well behaved.

  25. addictedtobravo says:

Sorry if this has been hashed out already, but I’m new to this blog…i really thought Sonja was hammered when she started in on Alex at the party. Coupled with the DUI arrest and the slurring on the St. John trip I am now wondering if she has a drinking problem on some level. Also I think it would have showed more on WWHL except David was so out of it he made her look sober.

    • housewifeaddict says:

Some of them drink so much – it is amazing. You’d think they’d want to stay sober and in control during filming. Did they learn nothing from the finale of BH. Or those dinner parties (um Kyle maybe you should lay off the alcohol). At least Ramona is a nice drunk (sort of).

      • addictedtobravo says:

Right you would think…that’s why I wonder about the level of control she has. For some reason Ramona doesn’t seem like she has a problem, but then she isn’t a drunk attacker (she does that sober lol). I have attended many parties and fundraisers and rarely do I run into anyone who is slurring or being so belligerent. There Sonja – you can go to rehab and like all the Hollywood types make yourself into a hero!

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

a happy one at any rate LOL
        turtle time

    • Nancy says:

Finally someone is seeing what I see. Thank-you. Yes Sonia has a problem with alcohol.

      • BambiBaby22 says:

I think most of them from NY have drinking problems:
        Ramona – definitely
        Sonjay – Yes
        Alex-Emerging prblem
        Simon – strong suspicions
        Kelly – Perhaps
        Bethenny – Yes
Jill – No, but wonder why she NEVER drinks (recovering?)

        • addictedtobravo says:

I think Bravo is trying to make it seem like Alex is being driven to drink by these women, but I guess we’ll have to see. Good point about Jill but I think she stays away from the alcohol as a control measure – she probably drinks when they aren’t filming? I disagree about Bethenny and I think Jason would call her on it.

  26. OneMoreInBoston says:

Kinda OT to the discussion at hand- but I am still in shock over Sonja’s painting. In shock that she is even still talking to the artist let alone sleeping with him! What is wrong with her?
Read what she wrote on her foolish blog:

“Now. . .the painting from Brian! I don’t know why he said he hated painting me. He loved painting that other girl, and made her look gorgeous. Maybe he never wanted to paint me? But he had promised for years to paint me. I’m a big supporter of his, and believe in his talent like no other, so he had to make good on it? I guess I forced his hand? What do you think?”

is this woman delusional? What do I think? I think if you have to ask what I think you should drop this guy like a hot potato!

    Oh and BTW- for Boston02127:
“I get my headbands at Henri Bendel on sale in the summer.”

    • quincyil says:

She is in her late 40s and not her early 20s, even with no wrinkels he probably noticed that her face was not as soft as it was when the earlier portraits were painted.

That background was hideous. In his other paintings there is a lot of lines and motions with concectrations of color. I think Sonja told him what she wanted and he complied, but that is not his style. The original drawing showed his style.

I think he is extremely embarassed today.

      • Jezzibel says:

he might have been trying to do the “less is more approach” with her on the original showing, fleshing it out made it look worse and out of proportion.

I think promising to do her portrait for years and her nagging him to do it, are some serious red flags that he was reluctant to paint her and indicates that he is not interested in her beyond the occasional mattress pounding. If he was into her the way she is into him…he’d have been begging her to paint her portrait asap and possible do more then one portrait of his love interest

      • AZ Girl says:

I bet wishes he never painted that picture. I have to admit he is really good looking.

      • floridagirl88 says:

I think he was just tired of banging her and knew that pic would get HIM thrown out, LOL.

      • nathania says:

yes, i don’t really understand the thing about the painting.

because, it was hideous, and this is probably the most exposure his art has probably gotten on television. and why on earth would you want THAT to be representative of your talent, in front of such a huge audience. It’s not just that it was bad, that he gave her obviously fake boobs and aged her face too much, and the background was a horror show, but that it was poorly done. Her legs and feet in particular were not painted well at all. I mean, it was a commercial for his work and I can’t understand at all someone wanting something that bad to represent their work to the american public. Or maybe it was just his way of guaranteeing that he would not have to paint anymore middle aged housewives or their fans/viewers ever again. LOL.

The part of the blog sounds a bit like the (apparently) faux humble old Sonya. It also sounds like a painfully insecure fourteen year old asking her friends if they think the boy from gym class really likes her, or if he keeps slapping her upside the head with the basketball just to be obnoxious.

    • housewifeaddict says:

I think she may have been trying to be gracious. She admitted he didn’t want to paint her and he forced it, and it was an awful painting of her – but if she had said “and I never talked to him again and withdrew all my financial support” she’d have looked worse.

Poor Sonja – I’m not sure if I remember an episode that was so targeted at showing the worst in one particular housewife. Normally they spread that stuff out over 2 episodes, but I guess since the “fight” happened at the picture unveiling – they almost had no choice.

    • jeang says:

Hello Sonya, he wanted to paint that other women, not you, and it shows. Its like raising a big stink at mcdonalds and then eating your food that somebody probably spit in.

      • OneMoreInBoston says:

        right! good analogy!

      • quincyil says:

He wanted to paint young hot women like the one who jumped on him at your house.

I think…we have another Max situation on our hands and Sonja and Bryan are not really having a relationship.

That would explain the girl running over to him and jumping into his arms.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

for all we know taht could have been his sister and from what i could see she wasnt young or “hot”

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

but for the most part he seems to really like her
maybe the other girl was really just much more beautiful then sonja

      • Jezzibel says:

he seemed to like her company in a casual/flirty way….I really don’t think he feels for her the way she wants him to or has told herself that he does.

  27. AZ Girl says:

After reading the posts from Ft. Lauderdale Gay and NAmerican upstream I really think Jill is just crazy. She has no idea the damage she is doing to her reputation. Attacking fans on her facebook page for asking a question? Being on a marriage equality committee but having a fundraiser for a anti-gay politician? I am heading over to facebook to leave a comment for Jill about this. “Adios Lunatics”

    • housewifeaddict says:

The thing is many of these women support causes but don’t really believe in them. It is very un PC to be on Bravo, but not support marriage equality. Remember Stacey getting blasted in DC. It’s also really hard to be a hypocrite as a public figure. Jill is just the gift that keeps on giving.

I personally don’t think you should lend your name to a cause unless you support it – which – as much as I hate to admit it – Kelly refusing to lend her name to Ally’s charity until she learned more about it was actually a smart move. Not that Ally’s charity was controversial – which she could have figured out in a microsecond – – –

Terry, just came back from your site. I knew that “Pregnant in Heels” must have had terrible ratings because very few people here even commented on the blog of the show. I think they tuned in week one and called it quits.

Those numbers are shocking. Has Bravo ever taken a show off the air mid season. NBC has cut shows off. I know because all of a suddent your show is not on.

I wonder how many more episodes they will share with us.

              • nathania says:

I know why I am not watching…it’s the same reason I don’t watch teen mom, and the same reason I didn’t watch the “I’m Pregnant and…” show on Discovery Health. I have no desire to have to lay my pillow down at night knowing there is going to be one more child born to a raging betch. Which is what the previews portrayed many of the women as…prima donnas, loons, folks who might not have it all together where it counts, despite being rich. I have two beloved nephews and one beloved niece with sociopathic moms and that is enough worry and pain to have to deal with. I don’t want to know about someone demanding hair and makeup during delivery and her husband talking about her ‘serious fangs behind her pretty smile’. It’s like Bravo is screening cases for DSS or something (not that they -Bravo- care about the children born to the witches and loons, as long as they get ratings).

In all honesty I never gave those things much thought before I became an aunt and watched my own child-bearing years dwindle down to the very low single digits. At this point in my life, stuff like that is heartbreaking to watch.

            • addictedtobravo says:

It would help if we could understand what she is saying. Between the accent and the (what the hell is it anyway) it’s really hard to follow the show. Still when I do focus really hard she is funny and these pregnant women are something else…

              • DJ Loops Fruit says:

they should at least use subtitles
I used to think i could understand anyone talking on tv from all my years watching eastenders and listening to Moms Mabley albums as a child

    • Nancy says:

“Taylor” is freaking out because of all the BS that was uncovered about her last season. In her mind if she looks all frail and weak the viewers won’t come down hard on her. “Taylor” I’m not buying it. Own your lies for goodness sake.
We all know she drinks too much and I wouldn’t be surprised if cocaine is a factor. The part that I find nauseating is that her and her husband own a part in a drug rehab in Malibu. We all saw the tenderness and respect she showed Kim didn’t we. I’m sure all the people in LA that have the disease of addiction is knocking down the door to get into the rehab facility that “Taylor” & Russell own.

    • Zoey says:

Geez, if she loses any more there will be nothing left but a pair of lips and pumps.

I think Harvey’s research was a little off or else I didn’t under the comment. The party was for Mr. Gucci, he attended, and has been in the US and probably does know the insane one (also known as Kelly).
Just to show that he was recently in the US:

    • quincyil says:

Harvey was trying to show that there was a Mr. Gucci and if there is misunderstanding it has to be my fault.

The older gentleman that the camera panned in on right was probably Mr. Gucci.

Harvey will not like it if I was not doing a good job with his posts. Sometimes, a well run army gets stuck in the mud. Ask Patton.

    • butterisafruit says:

I don’t doubt that Kelly knew Gucci. Her lifestyle/work would put her in the middle of the fashion titans. Back in the day.
She is probably on his press secretary’s list. Her and a million others.

    • quincyil says:

It’s almost as if Harvey is in this room with us right now. I have a message from the great white rabbit, he is not the Easter bunny. Oh,… that is the second message.

The first message is Mr. Gucci was in NYC for the 9/29/10 event, but 6 days before that he was in DC testifying about fake/knockoff designer fashions. That is the 9/23/10 article that you found.

      Kelly probably received this invitation:

Harvey had done research and found out that Mr. Gucci had not been in the US for 20 years before this date. Kelly Bensimon was Kelly Kelloren back then and she was 22 years old. Harvey thinks the young model was probably not noticed by the famous Mr. Gucci.

I, Q, think that Giles Bensimon might know Mr. Gucci from Europe since Giles is a famous fashion photographer and Kelly might have tagged along with Giles while she was being courted and was married to him. I have no research and no evidence, but I bet she could have met him through her ex husband.

Harvey will not like that I had this idea all on my own, but I had a thought and like Jill Zarin it popped out of my head and into cyberspace.

    • housewifeaddict says:

If Kelly did receive a personal invitation from the host of the event, she should have been sitting at his table. I truly think she probably received an invitation to buy a ticket that was probably a very nice personalized invitation – and then she streeeeetched the truth a little to explain why she showed up. Now in Kelly’s defense, what’s she going to do? Buy a ticket and sit with all the other singles? Once Ramona didn’t invite her, she was sort of out of choices. If she wanted to go, she probably should have just called Ramona up and asked her if she could join the party. Showing up and leaving made her look desperate. In Ramona’s defense – inviting Kelly to a real event would have been a nightmare. She doesn’t RSVP and she shows up late and leaves early. In addition to being a wackadoo – she’s also very inconsiderate.

  31. AZ Girl says:

Watched the video clip of mixer/wine tasting airing next week. Jacque is hosting a speed dating mixer and wine tasting. Kelly is at a table with a guy and she like “why do we swirl the wine in the glass”??? The guy at her table explains that it brings out the fragrance of the wine. Kelly’s response “I going to smell my wine”? TWICE. What? Does Kelly live under rock? The guy is like “yes” wishing he never sat down at that table. She is such a moron.

    • housewifeaddict says:

Yes (in answer to the question does Kelly live under a rock). That has to be the only explanation.

    • addictedtobravo says:

at the end of last season I was sort of feeling sorry for Kelly since she is so clearly distorted, but it’s hard to maintain the feeling. She really is like Bethenney said one of the dumbest people we’ve ever had the pleasure to witness.

      • boston02127 says:

@addictedtobravo–I was feeling the same way about Kelly for a short time. I was feeling bad about snarking on her. But it didn’t last long. I think she’s mean and I think she’s a drunk.

  32. housewifeaddict says:

So at the end of September Sonja is clearly on team Jill, Countless and Kelly. Between now and then she went on team blondes.

Did the split occur in Morocco?
    (Nov 13th of so – http://perezhilton.com/2010-11-13-real-housewives-of-new-york-head-to-morocco)

Had the split occurred before Sonja was interviewed by Lynn for the radio show (mid-December) or did it occur when she agreed to do the interview? Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

    • addictedtobravo says:

definitely hmmmmm. Still it will be hard for her to come back from this one especially since she failed big time on WWHL and didn’t fall on her sword. Speaking of bad PR moves.

      • housewifeaddict says:

If she realizes her mistake and owns up, and can work things out with Simon and Alex, she may recover a little. But we’ve still got the pecking order scene with Cindy to endure. Yes – I think the love fest for Sonja is over – but there is no reason to think she’ll pull a Jill and keep making things worse and worse. That takes a very special person.

        • addictedtobravo says:

Since this was filmed months ago and she is aware of what went down you would think she would have done the mea culpas on WWHL. “Yes, yes I was awful! I was so NERVOUS about the painting being revealed that I’d had a couple of drinks and lost my head…” kind of thing. But it really did not come across like she gets that she was in the wrong and in fact was surprised at the poll. But you are right that something clearly shifts – maybe the being thrown from the camel knocks some sense into Kelly and throws off the whole dynamic lol.

    • quincyil says:

Sonja is a mystery. I bet that she was ticked at Jill at the time or wanted to show that she is above it all.

I think she will come to terms with Alex quickly, but obviously if you look at their blogs written for Bravo, Sonja and Alex disagree even to this day.

I tend to believe Silex and the reason is, Alex went to Sonja’s house seemingly happy and ok with Sonja being the grand marshall. It was Sonja that got defensive right away.

I think Sonja wanted this to be her Bravo episodes. Something that did not happen last year. I think she was ready for her Norma Desmond moment:
“All right, Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up.”

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

lol at the norma desmond moment

“the last time we met Mr Demille was someplace very very gay”

  33. Veronique says:

But she is not owning up. She is doing a “Jill.”

She did it on WWHL, and now she’s doing it on twitter. She seriously doesn’t get it, and is blaming “editing” now too.

    • quincyil says:

She doesn’t want to be on the level of the other wives. She was the wife of an heir of JP Morgan and President John Adams. Sonja hasn’t adjusted to the fact that financially, she is below Silex as she owes 19 million dollars and does not have the assessts to cover that debt.

      • lovemamaearth says:

Plus Sonja has horrible manners and an ugly air of arrogance.

If I didn’t know better, I’d guess that Alex is trying to get viewers to back off of Sonja, apparently they’ve made amends and so we’re all supposed to forgive and forget as well.

We get it, that all happened 6 mos ago BUT it still happened and it is NEW to viewers Alex. Sorry!

          • VAgirl says:

WWHL just happened and she had the chance to redeem herself then. We are very forgiving to those who just fess up. I’ll bet she is having a bad weekend. She deserves it. Sorry I know I said I was going to bed, but I can’t get to sleep.

            • Zoey says:

Excellent point. WWH is live, right? She saw what we saw on the show, and still tried to explain her ridiculous point of view.

              • Kotagirl29 says:

I’m gonna play devil’s advocate here. Maybe Sonja didn’t fess up or come clean on WWHL because she didn’t want to give away that she and Alex made up. It could be that is a big part of one episode. But we know they have obviously made up because they have been talking about blondes vs. brunettes.

                • DJ Loops Fruit says:

thats a good point as they arent allowed to say what hasnt aired yet

however it must really suck to have been involved in a fight that becomes so public
and then to make up with the person only to have to relive the argument all over again because of the show.
opening up all the wounds making you wonder should you have just stayed mad or was it right to make up

    Do I like Bethenny? Yes
Do I think Bethenny is a smart businesswoman? Yes, Yes, Yes

  35. error404 says:

They all open themselves up to public scrutiny when they put their lives on tv. The entire cast of RHNY are annoying in their own way IMO.

What’s starts to bug me about the Simon snark, is that 99% of it all seems to revolve around attacking his masculinity, like it’s acceptable to openly deride someone for seeming an “effeminate heterosexual”. Jill inserts herself into Zarin Fabrics like it’s actually her business and she doesn’t do anything but cause trouble there, yet no one questions her femininity, makes jokes about her being a lesbian, or tells her to just go home and wash Bawby’s underwear. But Simon is repeatedly derided as gay, effeminate, thinks he’s a housewife, and needs to go get a job and provide for his family.

    • quincyil says:

and yet… I have a secret crush on Simon.

I think he’s just a Brit at heart.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

Error- you really think that’s Simon’s sexuality is at the heart of the Anti-Simon sentiment here? I don’t see that at all!

I think that others find him annoying, and trying to horn in on a show that is not about him or for him. And honestly, I get it. But…

I don’t agree with it. The Silex image (brand?) and the maintaining of it IS his job. That is why he monitors twitter constantly, that’s why he left his job at the hotel- to start a social media company- who better to manage it?. This couple has $ coming in from their book and from the HW’s and also from Simon’s clients. Alex has her marketing consultancy, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Simon didn’t get $ from Bravo too- from his web show and as a house husband.

IMHO these two are making it, he doesn’t need to get a different job.

Simon is a flashpoint- you either love him or hate him. I love him, I think he’s a hoot and when he’s serious, he can debate well. But I also think he’s probably best in small doses.

      • quincyil says:

Simon is willing to do anything for the show: go to a dinner party where Ramona thinks it’a girls’night out, play tennis, and dress up in red leather pants for a finale. He is more loyal to Bravo than Bravo will ever be to him.

      • VAgirl says:

I like Simon, too. I think he adds something to HWNY other than women talking about who has the worst manners. After all it is called “Housewives,” meaning, supposedly, they have husbands in their lives (at least some do). Simon just happens to be involved in Alex’s life more than Bawby and Mario. If anyone just wants him in small doses, then maybe it would be better to not follow him on twitter or read his blog. He does have a job, not a traditional one, but I don’t get why some are saying for him to get a job. Just my opinion for what it’s worth.

      • error404 says:

“Error- you really think that’s Simon’s sexuality is at the heart of the Anti-Simon sentiment here?”

No. I think people find him annoying, which is fair. I think people all over the internet, not just this blog, hit below the belt and think it’s OK to degrade Simon as effeminate. We all hate Jill for her actions, but we don’t usually resort to poking fun of her sexuality/femininity.

        • lovemamaearth says:

True. But some of us at times talk about how mannish some of the women are.

I enjoy Simon and Alex both a lot since the second season. I think the first season it was a lot of bad editing for them.

And MSG to Alex, I’m glad you found your voice. Too bad that some of the jackals don’t like it.

          • housewifeaddict says:

Yes – there are a lot of “drag queen” comments for LuAnn, and everytime Kelly wears a bikini people comment on her strange and mannish body.

            • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Ive called LuLu a drag queen myself many a time not because she looks mannish to me but because her clothing looks like costumes
Kelly is just nuts to me ive never noticed her body at all

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

on the other hand he does get asked if he is gay almost daily
        that has to be annoying

    • Wicked says:

      I agree.

  36. error404 says:

Alex has always chosen odd moments to make these stands about “issues”, and it always flies over the other HWs heads.

Her s1 point that “girl’s night” is totally retarded was awkward in it’s delivery, but also a waste of time. The other HWs, B included, have the value systems of 1950s TV housewives. The whole thing was eclipsed by Ramona’s psychotic break due to her abusive childhood, but no one understood her point. Had LuAnn been there I’m sure she would have said something stupid and dismissive about Alex’s shoes. :rolleyes

Her s3 “message” was also awkward and ill timed. Her whole point of accountability was lost on women who can’t get past “Did you see what she was wearing?!”

    • quincyil says:

What about the theme for season four? “Let’s have fun at events!” Then every chance Sonja, Luann, and Jill get they gossip about Alex. I wanted to step into that episode and tell Sonja to, “Zip it!”

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

i could have sworn LuLu was at that dinner party and telling simon that Ramona was rude to walk out like that

  37. boston02127 says:

    Great blog. Thanks.

Great posts too. I think Bethenny is a little too thin but she may be the type that loses weight when she’s nervous. I’m get like that. Over the past few months my pants are hanging off me, even if I eat well. So maybe it’s nerves.

About Simon. I’m getting not to like him as much as I use to. I think he horns in a little too much. (is horns in the right term) Butts in?

Jill/Sonja and “their gay husband” comments. Who does that? It’s 2011. Someone should tell them they sound old & dated and totally ignorant. Period.

Kelly’s tweet about buying her sheets at K-Mart and not mentioning Jill. Perfect!
    There’s Jill’s Karma. Her new bff…dumb Kelly!

Michaele Salami’s husband nude in Playgirl? Ugg…shiver….NO. I’d rather stick hot pokers in my eyeballs. If he was the only man left on the earth and the earth was full of pee and he owned the only tree, I’d say no thx to him.

  38. boston02127 says:

OMIB–Just looked at the headbands, there are a lot of pretty ones. Funny you had posted that because I jsut started wearing headbands about 2 months ago.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

I love them too! I always used my sunglasses as a hairband by my melon kept stretching them out so now it’s back to headbands like I’m in 5th grade again. Style icon at 10-what happened?

      • boston02127 says:

I have a couple that are flat and match my hair, you can’t even tell I’m wearing one unless you look close. I like them and I was just so sick of wearing a pony tail all the time.

        • Kotagirl29 says:

I too am back into headbands. I am wearing one right now. I find if I wear a ponytail or put my hair up in a barrette too many days in a row I get a horrible headache. But there isn’t much that feels better than taking your hair down after having it up for a long time (kind of like taking off my bra), I love that free feeling.

          • boston02127 says:

@Kotagirl29 –For the past 2 years I can’t remember not wearing a pony tail. I was always throwing myself together. It has just been recently that I’ve been trying to look a little nicer with my hair & make-up and taking better care of myself. When my mother was sick, I didn’t have time and I didn’t think about me.

            • Kotagirl29 says:

I’m sorry about your Mom. I wear my hair up a lot because it is so damn hot hear in the summer and if I try to wear it down I die. That and the humidity makes my natural curl turn into natural frizz! It’s not a pretty look. Okay and yes some days I am just too damn lazy to do anything else with it.

  39. Adgirl says:

Are any of you discussing Gretchen OC?? She was sued this week by her make up business partner who says Gretchen iced her out of their deal, started a new makeup company without her after stealing all of the funds they they both deposited into a joint account to begin the new makeup line.
Also Slade is refusing to sign a prenup. Shocking!!!

Additionally Gretchen refuses to pay Jay Photoglu the money the court demanded stating she is broke.

    Nice lady.

Explosive Allegations Against Gretchen Rossi, Slade Smiley In Makeup Business Partner Lawsuit Background: Gretchen Christine Beaute was always considered “shady” at best, fraudulent at worst, the news that anyone who ordered the makeup was steered to Slade’s PayPal Address
    from DBKP:
One year later Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley are now officially engaged in a lawsuit related to Gretchen’s makeup line, Gretchen Christine Beaute, the lawsuit–filed by Gretchen’s business partner-Gretchen’s long time and now former makeup artist and extremely angry former friend RonAnn Meyers.
RonAnn appeared in season five of RHOOC in Bravo footage which seems to bolster her claim she was a partner in Gretchen’s makeup line. (One wonders if Bravo is happy about having yet another cast member embroiled in a lawsuit where Bravo footage might be aired in court.
On April 13, 2011, RonAnn filed a lawsuit naming Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley as the defendants in a 37-page lawsuit. Some of RonAnn’s claims: ‘breach of oral contract’, ‘fraud/deceit’ and ‘fraudulent conspiracy’. RonAnn is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages and a trial before a jury.
In other Gretchen Rossi court related news, Gretchen was ordered to pay Jay Photoglou over $40,000, but, are reported here yesterday, thedirty reports she is claiming she doesn’t have it..
The latest lawsuit involves both Gretchen and Slade as defendants. Slade’s other court case, Slade’s October 2010 court claim he’s too destitute and indigent to pay back child support for his son Grayson, who suffers from a rare form of brain cancer. Slade Smiley’s Court Documents
Over at the Bravo footage vault, scenes from season five, episode 14, the episode where Gretchen and RonAnn worked together on selecting the right shades of makeup and cosmetic containers for the new makeup line.
Gretchen Rossi’s long time makeup artist and current business partner, Ron Ann, discuss preparations for the upcoming Women’s Empowerment Conference where Gretchen will unveil her new makeup line.
    More details from the lawsuit
In the lawsuit RonAnn claimed she had been Gretchen’s friend and personal makeup artist for seven years.
RonAnn claimed in February of 2009 after RonAnn mentioned she was planning her own makeup line, ‘Wiinks’, Gretchen ‘expressed an immediate interest’ in becoming RonAnn’s business partner.
The partnership was a 50/50 deal in ownership, control, and profits.
Agreeing to ‘pool their resources’, Gretchen and RonAnn each deposited $5,000 in a joint business bank account. RonAnn claimed that at a later date Gretchen cleaned out the account–over $2,100–without informing RonAnn. RonAnn had to pay the overcharge fees and close the account.
RonAnn claimed in February of 2009, Gretchen and Slade Smiley ‘unilaterally moved to change the name of the makeup line’ eliminating ‘Wiinks’.
RonAnn had a long established relationship with Lady Burd, a private label manufacturer.
RonAnn claimed Gretchen and Slade cut her out of the loop, negotiating a deal with Lady Burd Cosmetic’s New York office.

Gretchen just can’t seem to keep herself out of courtrooms. Will Bravo drop her? Listening to and taking the advice of Slade Smiley is working so well for her, ya’ think?

I had my name slapped on Lady Burd cosmetics more than 20 years ago! They are a private label company! What the F*ck???

O/T—Me & my b/f are watching a show on A&E called Storage Wars. People go to storage unit places and bid on storage units that have gone unpaid. It’s amazing what people leave behind.

    • vilzvet says:

Ooh, that sounds like a good show. I remember a couple of years ago my daughter’s boyfriend’s family lost precious photo albums, etc. in a storage unit because they could not pay the balance due. If you don’t pay, your stuff gets kept. I bet alot of the stories on this show are related to that rule.

      • VAgirl says:

They have found a lot of neat and very valuable stuff. One unit had an extensive sport memorabilia collection that was worth a lot of money.

        • VAgirl says:

I’m watching Hoarders: Buried Alive. There are a lot more hoarders in this world than people can imagine. It’s very hard for a hoarder to change.

    • boston02127 says:

They give the intrested buyers 5 minutes to look. They can’t go inside. It’s interesting because at the end of the show they show how much things are worth.

The people that go to these seem like pro’s. I never knew people did this.

      • VAgirl says:

They actually make a living doing this. At least three of them do. I think one guy does it as a hobby.

  42. Adgirl says:

I love Alex even if I do think she needed a serious timeout at Sonja’s. Can you imagine what we would say if Kelly acted like that??

I do not thinkSimon is gay. Not that I care, but many seem to. Sonaj payed that card on WWHL. I think Alex & Simon view themselves as artistic/ patrons of the arts. They are non-conformists who also desperatly want to be acknowledged & belong. That’s not very unusual.
If they lived on Manhatten in the Village all of RH would be all over them as being cool.

    • Louisadelmar says:

My recollection is there have been Simon/gay comments since Season 1. I’m quite sure he isn’t and I never got the impression anyone was serious in their suggestion. Its just he’s very different from Bawby and Mario.

      • boston02127 says:

I think Simon is metrosexual. Not my type of guy, I like work boots & jeans type. But there’s certainly nothing wrong with being metrosexual, lots of handsome guys out there that are.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

its really funny in my lil town
most of the straight guys here dress and groom like gay men in the 80’s did
the pluck thier eyebrows within an inch of thier lifes
i think it may even be more of a “guido” thing then a Metro thing
and then all the gay guys i know that live in town dress in mostly jeans and flannel
          or casual sweats

      • quincyil says:

LOL.. sure is different from Bobby, who has a collection of Playboy magazines in the basement of his mother’s house and who tells the Wall Street Journal that he enjoys watching Jill take off her girdles on Valentine’s Day or Mario, who follows women walking away from a table his wife is sitting at.

Simon has always told us of his love for Alex and his sons.

I’ll take Simon over Bobby and Mario anyday.

        • boston02127 says:

Q—I agree, Simon is a nice father & husband too. Much better than Bobby & Mario.

          • SimonGetAJob says:

I’ll leave the kids out of it, IMO we have not scene enough of them with their kids to make judgement call and I will give them all the benefit of the doubt on that. But when it comes to how they treat and support their wives, I’d take Mario and Bobby over Simon any day. Simon is controlling, self-centered and has a temper. He has not always had his wife’s back even when she specifically asked him for it. Bobby and Mario have real jobs and let their wives take the lead with their job on HW’s. I wish Simon would give Alex that space.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Maybe its because he grew up down under and not in America

he does seem more devoted to his family then the others

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

in season 1 i think Mario really believed he was
        he isnt

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

personally i think Sonja needed the time out
she wants to talk about manners
yet she was the host that threw a friend out of her home
she also was teh one that brought up the march incident and started the fight
lied about some of the facts and everytime Alex tried to tell her just look at the website
she was cut off with more lies in a loud agressive voice
she made a fool of herself on national tv

now this happened several months ago and they have made peace
and someoen else pointed out that maybe she didnt fess up on wwhl because they may have wanted the fact they made up to not be revealed yet
i give up trying to guess and will just sit back and watch it unfold
if i dont kick the set in

    • BlueEyedGirl says:

I think the difference for me with Alex.. is she owns the crap she does wrong! Look at her bravotv blog and she admits she was wrong and shouldn’t have acted the way she did.. I applaud her for that. The other women rarely seem to be able to do that

  43. cabbie413 says:

Do you guys ever communicate with the housewives via twitter and/or their blogs?

I noticed that other housewives seem to view their fans as just that, fans. Simon and Alex respond in kind and view their fans as supporters, and i think it lends to making them more down-to-earth and much more likable than the others.

    what do you guys think?

    • quincyil says:

When Alex’s book came out she sent me an email after a facebook comment.

She has like a gajillion followers, but ends each update with phony sounding questions like “eating ice cream. So good! What’s your favorite flavor?” Really Ms Frankel? You have the time and want to read 687 responses form complete strangers “Chocolate” “Vanilla” “Strawberry” Give me a break! LOL

But what shocks me is how some, like Jill and Dina for example, will just all out attack their fans like crazy women, and then people will still say they like them!?!?

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Jill never attacked me she blocked me

A viewer said to me, “Didn’t you interview Sonja before the season started?”

I responded: @LynnNChicago: yes, I did and it is sad! She was pretty nice during the interview but I had no idea she changed so much

Sonja saw our conversation and said:

@SonjatMorgan said: @LynnNChicago I did not ask to be Grand Marshall. MENY pulled Simon NOT I. Sorry I was so proud w my FRIENDS at home? After 3 hrs of hosting.

@SonjatMorgan said: @LynnNChicago @Mccordalex SILEX has tough first season. I believed in the best in them. Not what was portrayed

      • housewifeaddict says:

But it wasn’t that was portrayed – it’s how she continues not to own it. It doesn’t matter who pulled them – one word from her would have fixed it.

      • PJ says:

Sonja needs to get her stories straight. Simon and Alex were never scheduled to speak or they were pulled, which is it? Sonja was asked to speak before she was on RHNY, or she was asked after she was on RHNY and therefore she wanted to know if it was just her or a RHNY thing done for cameras. Sonja has as big of an issue with telling the truth as some of the other Housewives in RHNY. What is wrong with telling the truth and taking ownership of your actions and why are some of the RHNY so bad at this concept? Don’t these women realize that by telling the truth they might have the respect of viewers instead of contempt? The lying must be second nature to them and not just a product of being on a TV show.

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Jill Zarin knows about the Bloggers Miami boycott. The bloggers requested the DVDs because they blog for thousands of fans. Jill will send it to a blogger that gets few hits because it was created by her friend to honor Jill Zarin.

When that blog was created Jill said she was sending 10,000 hits to them and they thanked Jill. The truth is Jill has 33 people for an upstream that she advertised on her twitter and begged for more people to come. The truth is Jill has followers, but they are not all her fans. The truth is she is a huge reality star and she enjoys giving digs on twitter to Lynn and IHJZ followers.

My big excitment today was walking around the Berkeley hills, drinking beer and coming home to weedeat the yard and lay down new grass seed. Aren’t you all jealous? I was going to tweet about it but I bore myself. LOL.

I chose to live on the farm because of the horses, but our town pretty much closes down after 9 PM. I think there is a gas station and a couple of bars open and Walmart… You can go to Walmart 24 hours a day.

        • Adgirl says:

OMG. I went to Walmart in the middle of the night when we visited Fort Worth. Someone should make a reality show about the type of people who go there at 3:00 AM.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Shrill is so transparent she makes Casper The Ghost look Opaque

    • Laura says:

I have a question….Jill kept telling Alex and anyone else that would listen that she was on the “committee” yet never agreed to actually participating in the Equality March…..okay, fine and dandy but then why the hell did she show up there with her mouth-kissing little dog and march along with them?

Oh wait….I forgot to consider the source

Another thing…..does JZ REALLY expect ANYONE to believe she doesn’t follow Bethenny like a psychotic stalker???

Approx. 10:20 p.m. EST she posted on her Facebook “Home on a rainy Sat night with my boo and boo boo.”

Hmmmmmmm…doesn’t Bethenny call Cookie “da boo boo”?????

This woman makes me SICK SICK SICK!

      • Nancy says:

Next we’ll be hearing that she wants to move to LA.

        • Laura says:

I wonder if Bethenny can get some sort of restraining order against her for that? lol…noo, probably not…

      • Cheri says:

Ginger is not a mouth kissing little dog she is a nose licking little dog! Please refer to her correctly (lol)

@Jillzarin hey is there anyway I can rewatch your ustream video from Thursday?

    Jill back to someone:
@S———– I only do it live…I don’t save them. At least not right now. Maybe in future. Are you getting my announcements in email?

Simon sees, and lobs this beauty:
@Jillzarin @S————- Is that so there’s no record of ur statements regarding the voting on WWHL polls? Did u state I used robots 2 rig?

I can just hear Jill now – Bawwwbeeee – he did it again. What should I write back. Bawwwbeeeeee.

I didn’t know the wedding dress that Alex wore was the one she wore at her wedding. She has a picture of herself and the two guys that were at the equality march on her wedding day on her home page blog. (what we wore). She had very dark hair.

  50. lillybee says:

I watched Paula Deen today (shoot me now).
She had Carla from Top Chef on as a guest. Carla was so good, funny and easy to follow. Carla totally deserves her own cooking show.

Carla got it! The Chew is replacing AMC on ABC. With Batali, Carla, and others.

This is why I like Alex!!!!!

    • housewifeaddict says:

Seriously – Simon and Alex need to coordinate their PR. This tweet from Simon:

Sonja I love you, I really do & we both know this happened 7 months ago BUT your story keeps changing, and that’s the problem you’re having. You’ve now said so many things, on TV, on WWHL, to news reporters & now on Twitter, that your contradictions are making it worse. RT @SonjatMorgan: @Yvettejackie38 MENY would have let Simon speak if they wanted him to speak. Its their event. Not a RHONY event

      • SimonGetAJob says:

Case and Point – This is why Simon needs to STFU and get a job. Someone has a disagreement with Alex and it’s not hw vs. hw it is hw, simon vs hw. It is pure BS. Alex should have the lead and voice when it comes to the show, Simon should but out! It is that simple, I’m sure all the the husbands behind the scenes support their HW, but they don’t take to twitter and blogs to take over. THIS is my problem with Simon and has been since S1.

I now know what Simon’s Social Media Job is he sits on his ass all day long reading every blog and tweet about the HW’s and takes to his own blog and twitter to make comments. All while his wife is working her ass off at real jobs that don’t afford her to lounge on the computer all day and drink.

I don’t think Simon is gay, I think Simon is a self-centered, social climbing, asshole who controls his wife and treats her like crap.

        • VAgirl says:

I disagree. Agree he may be a social climber, but not an asshole and definitely not controlling. I don’t think he treats her like crap either.

          • SimonGetAJob says:

I will never forget his temper and rage he had on her birthday. Or the time Alex asked for him to be her wingman and he failed, or the house warming party, where Simon pushed for inviting (was it Jill) when Alex didn’t want it. I also think he is responsible for the naked pictures being released, and I also think he has a drinking problem, too many have said it and I believe there is some truth to it.

            • aquamarinecandy-o83 says:

I think Simon pushed to invite Ramona to the party at that time and Alex didn’t really care if she came or not (and Ramona didn’t).

        • BlueEyedGirl says:

I also disagree with you saying that he is butting into anything about MENY.. And the reason why is because he is upset he didn’t get to give a speech on something he is clearly passionate about.. This one has NOTHING to do with the RHNY.. He wanted to speak and had one prepared and if it were me, I would be pissed to not be allowed as well.. And if I got over it then saw the bullshit lies that someone said to take away something I was passionate and excited about.. I would say something too..

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

first off he has a job
secondly who are you to tell him to butt out
last time i checked we all have the right to voice our opinion
i do believe your advice is coming from a good place
like if he butted out things would be fine
but the point iis they all made up (all 3 of them) months ago
the person in here that said maybe sonja isnt admiting anything on wwhl because it might affect the outcome of the reast of the season of the show
          time will tell
ps Simon would give his life for his wife and kids that doesnt sound like a social climber or one that treats his wife like crap
sitting by the computer is part of his job seriously doubt he drinks all day long or he wouldnt be able to do his work at home AND be able to tweet

          • SimonGetAJob says:

Who are you to tell me that? I watch the show just like everyone else and make comments. My opinion of Simon is coming from what I have watched from S1. If he would but out and be in the background like the other husbands Alex would have a chance to speak and be judged for herself. With them it’s a packaged deal and it creates a 2 against 1 situation. I don’t blame Sonja for not wanting Simon in her ear. I have watched since S1 and most of the problems Alex has had is because of her husband and not actually her.

  53. housewifeaddict says:

Remember when Ramona hit the producer? That was reported around Oct 5/6.

She was honored at a dinner Oct 4th which we haven’t seen yet –
The Gucci dinner was Sept. 29, and Sonja’s party maybe the day after so it should be coming up very soon if they show it. It happened when they were filming in her apartment with Alex and Sonja.

  54. Nancy says:

If I woke up every morning for the last few years knowing there was a blog called
I Hate Jill Zarin I would RUN to a shrinks office and say…”73 million people can’t be wrong so can you help me?”

My entire day is ruined if one of my cats look at me with hate in their hearts.
(This happens a lot when I don’t give them fresh salmon 3x’s a day.)
I wonder what the pay off is for Jill that keeps her from going into therapy?
My guess is that she truly is a text book Narcissist. That being said there is something else going on with her. For someone that is soo concerned about what people think of her she has very little insight to her own behavior. Sad.

    • Dani says:

Nancy even if Jill went to a shrink and he told her she had problems she wouldn’t believe him/her. Just like she doesn’t believe us and we know what her problems are.

    • OneMoreInBoston says:

I think this blog really bothers her.

I also think that maybe she has been to see someone, and believes that she is working on herself.

      • quincyil says:

I think Jill Zarin sees a therapist too. I think she could not have survived national hatred without the help of a professional.

      • error404 says:

Interesting. I’d just always assumed she saw someone because a NY Jew without a therapist is like an Italian-American without a statue of the Madonna in their house. LOL

        • Nancy says:

If all of you are right, she needs to get her money back.
She is however sitting on a gold mine.
If Jill put those secessions of camera she would have the #1 sitcom in history! I wouldn’t miss that for the world.
What would be the name of it…?

          • LynnNChicago says:

Do you think she’s seeing a therapist? or a publicist? To Jill, the PR person is more important.

If she’s seeing both, she’s not listening to either OR they suck at their jobs

  55. Dani says:

I am having a exciting night too. I am watching Les Miserables. I think this is my 4th time to see it. I have been watching and reading Lynn’s blog tonight. Quincyil I love it when you call us family and I enjoy your posts. I can’t wait for Jill to answer Simon’s tweet, so I am going to continue to lurk as I finish watching the movie.

  56. chismosa says:

to Error404- in the previous blog you mentioned something when comments were about the classes and society, and said:
Mario and Ramona: Italian/Irish Catholic/Jews society? BWabhahahahaha But they are honest hard working people who married for love.

I have been trying to figure out that Mario’s last name is Singer? So is he Italian or Jewish or both? But they seem so Christian-minded and Mario’s father’s business in the religious jewelry/tchotchky field- ?? It is so confusing to me.
Someone here said that Ramona was Italian so i guess that, never heard her maiden name before. I realize they are all Christian, but Singer? the name sounds Jewish to me

Do you know? Or can you direct me to where in past blogs this was discussed (don’t take time out, just a general idea)
just wanted to see if you could give me a more definite answer, i’m looking everywhere- thanks so much!

    • error404 says:

Hi chismosa. No, I don’t know details of their ancestry, sorry.

      • quincyil says:

He’s Italian. He speaks Italian. Ramona is Catholic sends her daughter to Catholic school and they attend mass on Sundays.

That said, the “Singer” surname is Jewish.

Singer is an Ashkenazi Jewish Name, that is, Jews that lived in the Rhineland and Alsace regions of Germany and France. It may also be the case that there is an anglo saxon variant as both societies existed predominantly in the middle ages and would likely have come from similar places.
        Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Singer_surname_origin#ixzz1Jn7i3QOr

Over the generations some families change religions. Mine does. Protestant/Catholic/ Protestant/Catholic…

Probably, Mario’s ancestors were Jewish and at some time the family became Catholics. I am not surprised.

        • AZ Girl says:

Q: you are correct. Before WWII Pope Pius XII at the request of Hitler set out to convert Germans to the catholic faith. There is a book “Hitler’s Pope” published in 1999 which lays out the plan of Hitler to make germany mainly catholic.

  57. chismosa says:

great blog Lynn, i agree that i think Bethenny is too thin, however we know she is healthy and she does run herself ragged. i think she needs to learn to prioritize and figure out what she wants and needs to take on. the smaller implants help her look more streamlined as well. It doesn’t help that her face looks very gaunt at times due to its structure, but she is so lucky with the overall body shape she was born with (i.e. she is not a pear). But we love her and always will support her!

  58. chismosa says:

why is everyone commenting about going back to the city for the march/ day of the march being after the wedding in the hamptons when WASN’T IT PROVEN THESE TWO EVENTS WERE NOT ON THE SAME WEEKEND?? Am i losing my mind or is my information incorrect?

    • quincyil says:

We think there were two wedding. One during the week which we think was a Jewish wedding and the one in the Catholic Church on Sat. the RHNYC filmed.

That is why there is a confusion of dates. So Jill, Ramona and Alex went Sat. to the reception and then Alex drove back Sat. night so she could get ready for the march.

  59. chismosa says:

@VA Girl, JKW, and Blue Sky:
I just want to say thanks so much for pointing out all the dog/ animal rescue information above and giving readers your input on getting a dog, pet, etc.
I can’t really even read what is most of what you wrote because I cry instantly thinking about it all- ( i am a dog person).
Also i saw in some magazine that April is something like adopt a greyhound month? These dogs get retired at this time of the year and where can they go? It’s so sad… so i just wanted to say thanks for your kind warm ways and god bless you and may hell come to the a$$holes in the world who mistreat and abuse animals. You SEE how civilized the Japanese are being about letting pets be with their owners? In this disgusting country you can go from being involved in animal cruelty to making millions of dollars on a football team again. I can’t even discuss, i’m already fuming.

(i have a thing about the Japanese and how elegant and gracious they are as a people compared to the people at other natural disasters that have occurred of late in the world).
Anyway, thanks and best to you with your endeavors with dogs/ animals.

Finally got to watch last episode of NYC ho wives. I think Sonja is started to act more crazy than Kelly. Speaking of which, Kelly must have gotten some good meds because that is the sanest I have ever seen her.
These women make themselves look like self centered idiots when every time they do something for charity it has to be about them.
Alex as I said before you need to get away from these women & stop trying to make them understand what is important because to them they are the only thing that matters.
Those poor gay people who came to get a bill passed so everyone had the right to get married were not even in Sonja’s mind. She wouldn’t let Alex speak because she didn’t want to hear the truth.

I agree about Kelly! I thought what the hell. Not only does she seem sane she looks so pretty.

  63. Kashma says:

The first season of RHNY was on a few days ago….She’s always been thin…..but she definately is thinner now…But I don’t don’t think it’s because she’s starving herself. She reminds me of my sister…..who’s always been very petite frame….very thin….if she was a celebrity I am sure people would wonder……..but seeing her day to day as I do…She is just a very active person…..She’s on the go constantly with her two girls…..I joke that she can’t sit still….kind of like my mom is….and she’s always been very thin too….She always does everything around the house….indoors and out…As far as her eating…..She eats like Bethenny talks about in the book….She eats but she isn’t compelled to eat everything on the plate….sometime she does…and sometimes she doesn’t….but she doesn’t deprive herself and eat diet food….she’s just mindful. If she’s full she stops.
I guess what I am saying here is people just need to relax a bit on her weight…..I think she’s just a person on the go and can’t sit still…….with that plus the baby….I am sure that all factors in.
But like someone needs to watch their weight and be mindful not to gain too much weight…someone like her probably needs to keep an eye on it when it’s venturing to the extreme in the other direction…..Her whole concept is healthy eating and lifestyle….but if she’s not looking healthy, that could damage her brand.

  64. WindyCityWondering says:

We drove to UW-Madison for a recruiting event Friday night, unaware that storms rocked NC….hope everyone is safe!
Bethenny is naturally skinny and healthy. Sonja had her turn in the Bravo Barrel of Terror – she is not recovering gracefully. Simon and his tweets/blogs crack me up. Kelly is on meds, LuAnn is still a snake and I truly, sincerely dislike Jill Zarin a lot.

  65. HD says:

NYC is on again and I am cracking up at how many times Sonia says she’s the grand marshall.

  66. WindyCityWondering says:

Sonja is sly as a fox and stupid as a box of rocks – and Bravo had to have had a hand in the turn of events regarding the speakers. She could have said yes to them speaking so easily! Alex and Simon should have used their Bravo time to deliver their messages on the issues instead of being whinny fools.

    • Nancy says:

      Sonja is a nasty drunk.

      • housewifeaddict says:

I’m actually beginning to wonder if she remembers anything from that day, and that’s why her stories keep changing. Or maybe she was drunk the night before, called up the organizers, and left her demands.

Silex only have 2 friends on the show – Ramoner and Sonja. I hope Simon stops tweeting so that Alex and Sonja stay friends in case there is a S5.

  67. boston02127 says:

I have Bravo on. On the commercial (for next week’s show) the announcer says:

“has Kelly found the man of her dreams” then they shoot to Kelly and some poor dumb guy and he’s asking “will you marry me”?

Imagine marrying Kelly? It would be like babysitting a demented monkey 24/7.

  68. WindyCityWondering says:

LuAnn is a toad! She says nothing nice about anyone either to their faces or in her talking heads. She doesn’t get the fact that none of them think she is classy… hoping this catches up with her at the reunion. Next week we get to see her boy toy promote his wine business…yawning already dahlings!

    • housewifeaddict says:

      I’m not sure I agree.

      1) LuAnn hasn’t said anything truly awful (yet) this season. If she had made a comment about Jill’s dress, we’d have all cracked up. If she had told Jill to stop fussing at Sonja, we’d have said “you go girl”. LuAnn’s main problem is she’s on Team Jill and has been since season 1.

      2) LuAnn’s scenes may be boring, but at least she’s trying to show us something else besides the bickering

      3) LuAnn may go out to lunch and gossip – but that’s who she is. Ramona is an in your face, Jill is stab you in the back and behind the scenes, LuAnn is a hopeless gossip.

      4) LuAnn’s main problem is no one cares what she thinks. When she was rich and a Countess, I’m sure some people pretended to care, but now she’s pretty much irrelevant. The only ones who even pretend to care are Sonja and Jill. Kelly dials her down to a 2 – Bethenny and Ramona dismiss her outright, and she never talks to Alex.

      5) LuAnn’s other problem is she’s a clueless snob. Her entire edit on the show is showing how her actions don’t match her words – and that she is completely condescending and out of touch with reality.

      6) However LuAnn’s biggest problem is she decided to go on Team Jill S1, and hasn’t changed course. She didn’t pick the winner, but she can’t switch now.

I actually think shows full of inflated ego’s like LuAnn’s might be more pleasant to watch. We could laugh at her, say ouch when she makes a fool of herself without realizing it, but not have to watch one housewife be ganged up on by all the others.

I think that’s why I like Atlanta the best. They are always switching sides, and everyone has their turn being friends or frenemies. Yes they may have jumped the shark – but it’s campy, crazy, but not as unsettling as NY is starting to be, and NJ was last season.

      My two cents,

    • Nancy says:

It’s her “Holier than thou” attitude that makes me want to slap her. In her own mind she thinks once she’s made a choice on who’s right and who’s wrong all bets are off. End of story. For the life of her she can’t process people that debate her. That’s the way she talks to her kids, the help, her “friends” and
her “low lifers”. She is going to fall hard, very very hard.

    • SimonGetAJob says:

Luann is so not relevant darling! Think about what has happened to her (divorce, stupid music, new BF) and no one really cares, she is still just a supporting cast character (at most) on a show that needs to end. If Luann was no longer on the show would anyone notice? Her boss Andy, doesn’t even have her on his show and gives her very little time on the reunion shows. If it is really her that falls off the camel, that will probably be the most memorable moment she has had on the show and I’m sure event that scene the camel will be the star.

      • Nancy says:

You are soo right. I wonder how much time she spends with her children? All we’ve seen is LuAnne trying to pon her kids off on someone else.

Since she got those bubbies she seems to be aging & her face is distorted & cannot dress for shit. lol
She’s seems to be growing in height while her pit bull(no offense to pit bulls) jerk of a husband is shrinking from the pics on RT.
I knew a lot of people like the Jersey wives for a while & even babysat John Gotti’s grandchildren in Howard Beach around 1991 or so when his daughter lived upstairs from my first hubby’s parents. I still think Sonja is redeemable despite what she did. I’m still willing to like her. It’s a good thing for Sonja that she has a bad episode earlier in the season. By the time the reunion airs, most viewers will only remember what was shown the last few episodes.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Hope she redeems herself too! Maybe her non redeeming appearance on WWHL was because she had to keep in character with the march/art party fiasco….

  72. Miss Katherine says:

that’s a very good point. when season 3 first began, i thought bethenny was acting like a loose cannon and was team jill. however, by the time of the infamous speaker phone incident with luann cackling in the background i saw the light! guess it shows how quickly someone can change… for better or worse.

    • error404 says:

True, even Camille somewhat redeemed herself after being branded the worst HW of all time. But the audience rarely forgets a thing. As popular as Bethenny is and a “break out star”, people still routinely drag up every snide joke she quipped about Silex 5 years ago.

Or, in HW speak: Does the Bravo audience forgive? Perhaps. Does it forget? Never! LOL

  73. Adgirl says:

Shouldn’t Sonja’s intro be “I’m the Stick that stirs the Shit”?

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Yes she should! We know her need now to be all about herself – likely she thinks she has earned this for the half season she did…. unlike Jill she gets out her anger, hurt ,etc. immediately. Like Jill, she doesn’t feel the need to apologize or pretend to see the other side of her behavior’s effect.

      haha good one!!

or I’m the b*tch who stirs up sh*t?

Watching NJ Housewives and T & J’s “children” are making a pizza in Joe’s new work/home. The kids are totally out of control and I kept thinking how are these girls
going to act once they become preteen/teenagers? The thought leaves me speechless.
Now on to our favorite, Jill Zarin. When she was interviewed at the TV Land Awards
last week she was terrified. She couldn’t make eye contact, she had a hard time keeping on subject, she kept looking at Bobby for support blah blah blah. She wasn’t going to attend the March but because Alex had nailed her on her s&%$! she was soo afraid that she would be talked about (and not in a good way) she had to show up. Jill wouldn’t have done that during s3. Alex has gotten under her skin and she’s not doing well because of it. During the wedding reception why was Jill sitting in a chair way away from the spotlight? I think it was because of Alex & Ramona. She would never have done that during the other seasons. I really think this “lady” is starting to loose it, and loose it big. In re: to the stupid poll on WWHL did her behavior look sane to anyone? I rest my case.

  75. WindyCityWondering says:

After looking at the pictures of Kelly from the Stella launch – more fleshy wrinkles – her thighs look bad – gravity is one thing – but is she really exercising or living the healthful lifestyle like she professes? The facial animation compared to RHNY is kind of creepy too.

Looks like tonight is the night that Nene goes bonkers on Celebrity Apprentice. Star Jones had to hire a body guard and Hope said that Nene was unstable.

Nene seemed fine so far. I don’t know if she walks tonight, but she leaves at some point and does not get fired.

    • HD says:

That was such a cop out on Nene’s part. I wish she would have stayed until it was time for her to go.

      • quincyil says:

It seems Star Jones, by hiring a body guard, upset Nene even more. Let’s hope that Nene was not threatening and that Star was being melodramatic.

        • HD says:

Star Jones got a bodyguard on the show because of NeNe? Is she acting that bad?

          • quincyil says:

Nene is a tall person and Star may have watched Atlanta. Star also threatened legal action against Lisa for numerous email sent after Lisa was fired. Star called them threats.

          • error404 says:

Who, Star or Nene? I guess the answer is “yes” no matter who you meant. LOL

  77. AZ Girl says:

Watching the re-run of the christening and Juicy Joe is a drunken hot mess at the reception. We now know he was sweating out how he was going to pay for this stupid waste of money event.

  78. Smompy says:

Hello all. Just wanted to say a quick thank you for all the great recaps and comments here. I’m sticking to my promise not to watch RHoNYC this season, but from checking Bravo’s blogs, watching WWHL and reading Lynn’s site, I’m pretty much up to date on all the Housewives. And from what I’ve read and heard, I’m glad I stopped watching. Evidently Jill is still a bitch, Kelly is still an imbecile, Luann is still on her high horse, Ramona is still crazy in a good way (mostly), Alex is still awkward with confrontation and Bethenny is still glad she escaped. The only change seems to be Sonja and her new diva attitude? But that’s not completely unexpected. As Lynn noted, this is probably just a case of her getting the Season Two Swelled Head Syndrome. Oh, and the hair removal chick? No offense to her, but I don’t really care.

Oh, and since Ramona and Mario’s religion was discussed a bit:
Yes, she and her husband are practicing Catholics (who could probably use a little more practice), but what’s weird is that they were married by an Episcopal priest. Also, I read Ramona’s mother’s obituary in the local paper, and she apparently belonged to one of the orthodox churches. I think they said she was Ukrainian Orthodox. Even weirder, Ramona’s dad’s obituary identified him as being a longtime member of one of the local Baptist churches, Go figure.

Anyway, keep up the good work, all!

    • Adgirl says:

Hi Smompy, good to see you here.

I recalled from Ramona’s profile in the NYT Mario attends mass by himself in the Hamptons. I think he is more devote than she is. Maybe that’s why she made that comment in front of him about not caring if people marry their pets (about the Marriage march). I think it’s against his teachings so he is silent on the topic.
