I Hate Jill Zarin, Pregnant in Heels May 3, 2011 Pregnant in Heels by Quincy IL

Suspenders for pregnant women are horrible so they will not be sold in Rosie Pope’s chic maternity clothing establishment. Rosie wonders who would invent such a thing. They did look like something that you would use to secure a bicycle to the back of your car.

Rosie is riding in her black limousine and she gets a call from Hanna, one of her assistants. Melissa needs Rosie’s help. She is about to have her first baby, but she suffered three miscarriages and is worried about just about everything in her world. Melissa’s husband, Jared, shows a photograph of his wife at 105 lbs and tells us that we have to get her back there. Melissa was a model for twenty years. Jared is in property management. Melissa is in the process of renovating her 10,000 sq. ft. house. She is pressuring the men who are painting to finish as she is about to have her baby and to have a charity event at her home instead of a baby shower.

Rosie asks for a house tour in order to check baby proofing. The nursery is beautiful. They need drapes on the two windows, but Rosie is surprised that they had custom electric plug protectors made. There was a closet filled with clothes for a baby boy from 0 to 4 months.

Melissa introduces Rosie to a team of women who will help her with the baby. There is a house manager, a baby nurse, a prenatal educator, a personal trainer/nutritionist and an event planner. It takes a village to raise a baby. Rosie wonders why she has been asked to the meeting. Melissa wants Rosie to help with a fashion show at her charity event in a couple of days. Rosie agrees and will donate dresses that can be auctioned off for a Children’s Charity. Melissa would like clothes that the mothers can wear before and after the delivery. Melissa will also walk in the show at 34 weeks of pregnancy. Rosie will show her latest collection of maternity clothing.

Hannah, Rosie’s assistant, request a favor from Rosie. Hanna’s sister’s close friend has a home that is a wreck and her baby is coming soon. Lisa, the pregnant mom to be, is a singer in a popular women’s band. Her husband Steve also plays rock music. They are not typical Rosie clients because they are not millionaires, but they need help so Rosie will help them. Rosie arrives at the small apartment in a house to find Steve is a collector of knives, skulls and guitars. When Rosie arrives Steve says, “I hope she brought beer.” Lisa is about to have a baby and she does not know where she is going to put her.

Rosie immediately goes into inspection mode and she feels that lethal weapons on the walls are a danger to a baby. There are guitars propped up along the walls and there is a cabinet full of CDs that could fall if the baby tried to climb up on it. Rosie tells us that she is really worried about Steve’s attitude and she wants to get to work immediately. The couple shows her a closet that some people have suggested as a nursery, but Rosie said the baby needs a window and fresh air. While they are boxing up Steve’s precious collectibles, Rosie tells him that he has to grow up and he does not take this well. Steve and Lisa need to stop thinking about themselves and become parents. The environment should be safe for a child. Rosie has to figure out a way to make everyone happy when she redecorates the apartment.

At Melissa’s mansion, the preparations for the fashion show are at a standstill. The house renovations have not been completed. Rosie asks LT to stay at the home to make sure everything gets done properly, but she is a little concerned about his ability to follow through. They discuss the layout which includes a step and repeat for the photography of their famous and rich guests.

Rosie, LT, and Melissa hired maternity models that are beautiful and healthy. LT says that they will take style to a whole new level. The women are professional models who just happen to be pregnant.

At Rosie’s apartment, she meets with her husband to discuss their fertility issues. He has red eyes when she talks to him and she cries as she explains that her pregnancy was recently terminated. Rosie wonders if they should try again, but her husband says that the process is strenuous and painful for Rosie, but this is the way they can have their family and they should try again now. At Melissa’s mansion, Rosie has a conversation about Melissa’s concerns and the lost pregnancies the women have suffered is discussed. Melissa feels that she is to blame for her medical issues, but Rosie would hate it if her husband blamed her for having difficulties in getting pregnant.

Lisa and Steve are coming back from vacation to find their home looks great and it is still their style. There are guitars safely hung from the walls and red pillows on their couch for a splash of color. A corner of their bedroom has become a nursery and there is a mural on the wall with a bunny rabbit holding a guitar. The baby music carousel in the crib has tiny guitars on it. Rosie considers Steve and his collection when she renovated his apartment for the new family. Steve is over joyed and he hugs Rosie.

At the last moment, the Baby Shower/Fashion Show/Charity Event is ready. Melissa has red and black dress options to wear in the show, but she comes down the stair case in a flowered moo moo, which is not a part of the collection of dresses that Rosie has donated to the charity. Rosie believes this is a slap in the face. The charity event is a huge success and Melissa did wear a dress designed by Rosie on the walkway to the cheer and clapping of her guests.

Lisa and Steve become loving parents to their baby daughter, Emma Jane. Steve stepped up to the plate. Rosie reminds him to keep the skulls in storage. Lisa sings her baby to sleep every night.

Melissa and Jarod have a baby boy, Greyson. When Rosie goes to visit she is surprised the Melissa and Jarod are alone with their baby. They decided that they want to take care of him. Rosie feels that Melissa and her son will be on the best dressed list for a long time.

Last week, Rosie Pope shared that she held a title and was qualified to help one of her pregnant wives ask a Lord to be a godfather to her daughter.

Our IHJZ board contributor, kotagirl29, found a link to a video in which Rosie Pope answers a request for more information about Rosie’s claim to be a baroness last week. In this video Rosie makes the claim that the Labor Government gave her mother this title and that her mother rejected that honor for political reasons. (In the show, Rosie said that she had the title until she married her American husband.)

We have a IHJZ board contibutor, Kukulet, with extensive experience in the study of peerage. She gave us an accurate description of a life peerage in Britain: “Life peerages are created by the Queen, and approved by the Prime Minister and a special commission within the House of Lords. It’s usually an award for services rendered to Queen and country. For example, most former Prime Ministers are Life Peers. The recipient of a life peerage holds the title of Baron, but a life peerage cannot be inherited by the children of the recipient.”

We will continue to attempt to explain Rosie’s comments as she will not doubt be asked about this in the future.

This blog will be updated later today.

    Q—Great recap, thx.

  2. boston02127 says:

    Have a good day everyone.

  3. quincyil says:

    Have a good day, Boston!

  4. Bloshka says:

I’m disappointed in Rosie Pope. I’ve not seen her acknowledge her driver, let alone thank him. In this last episode, she walked into the cluent’s house and did not greet the legions of help. Later she was very rude to the workmen who were assembling a runway.

I am always turned off by people who behave poorly to staff.

In another episode, Rosie helped a woman set up an English-style high tea so that the client could ask a member of the peerage to be godfather to her baby. Mind you, they asked him BECAUSE he is a lord of the realm and the woman’s boss.

Finally, I feel bad for the manufacturer of the preggo suspenders. Here they send a product over and it gets trashed on television. Rosie could have made her point about beautiful merchandise for pregnant women without picking on some hapless manufacturer.

    • quincyil says:

Good point about the suspenders. I did not think of the manufacturers at the time. I had nylons roll to my knees in a stairwell at the end of my last pregnancy and it was a tad scary and embarassing.

    • error404 says:

Bravo does this all of the time, not just with products, but with places too. It’s especially bad with the RH series IMO because they are all so obsessed with one upping each other and trashing what ever the other does, that pretty much any event begins with the guests criticizing the selected venue, designer clothes worn by the hostess, etc…

IIRC, when Bravo all but forced Bethenny to go to Rosie Pope on BGM?, she pretty much made fun of Rosie and her services the whole time.

      • quincyil says:

That is so true. Bethenny did make fun of the two mothers in the CPR class.

Why would fancy, rich NYC women go on Rosie’s show?

My dad wore suspenders for years when he was older. They do a great job of holding up your pants when you have a tummy.

        • HD says:

I remember B going to Rosie and I am so glad she kept it light. Sometimes I think Rosie just overexaggerates things. I did basic baby proofing in my house, latches, electrical outlets, gates but other than that my “don’t touch that” was enough. I wonder how we all survived without all these gadgets, baby nurses, mother’s helpers and everything else.

          • quincyil says:

We had baby latches 33 years ago. My dad installed them. We had baby gates which are considered unsafe today. Our cribs had a side that would drop and that is unsafe today. I put my daugher in a moving jumper and that girl went all over the house at 7 months and that is unsafe today.

I think I put her on her stomach and had stuff in the crib too.

We just didn’t know, but it all of this saves a baby, I say we should change.

  5. HD says:

Great recap, Quincy. You actually made this particular episode seem bearable as I typically cannot stand these couples.

I lost my baby last year and just last night I was speaking to a friend about it and started crying. I finally decided to write about it in the hopes that I would feel better about it. Somedays I never think about it, other days I do think about what could have been. Although I do not have issues like Rosie I will not try again. I am soon to be 35 and I guess enough is enough. 🙂

    • quincyil says:

You will figure this out. I respect your so much.

35 is a spring chicken. My daughter is going to be 33.

    • Lavalady says:

    • JazzNightOut says:

      Sending you love dear HD.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Love to you sweet lady – please never say never.

    • error404 says:

35 is still young enough, but I’m sure you have your own reasons for your decisions and know what you are doing. Good luck with whichever path you choose. (())

we were pursuing adoption for a while with little success, and now that I’m heading toward 50, emotionally it seems “game over”. We do have friends my age or older who have adopted, but you can see it’s not easy. Mr 404 says never say never so I remain open minded but not anticipatory, if that makes any sense.

      • quincyil says:

I have a good friend and my husband’s cousin, a man, who had his first child at 54. He’s my age now and having a wonderful time with his 4 year old. He was great with my kids, but married a younger woman who wanted to have fun for a few years before starting a family.

I think there are kids who need caring fathers. I wonder if there isn’t a child waiting for you right now.

      • AZ Girl says:

My husband and I met a couple last year that were in their 50’s and after their kids had grown adopted 2 young babies. I don’t know how they do it!

    • 2Stupid says:

I lost a baby between my first and second and I still get emotional about it. I was 11 weeks. However, I was 34 with my first and 37 with my second. I will be 40 this year and if I could afford it, I would have another! I know losing a baby is very difficult, but my doctore explained to me that women have 25% chance of suffering a miscarriage. It does help you put into perspective, and not be so why me! Hugs to you HD!

    • Kukulet says:

I was the same age as you are now when I lost twin boys at 8 1/2 months. It was a fluke-something went wrong that could not have been foreseen or prevented. I felt the same way that you do-that I would not try again…but, when I was 38, I had my youngest daughter, which was not a planned event, but a joyful one all the same.

You never get over the pain of the loss of a child, of course…but it does get easier to bear. I won’t advise you to consider having a child, or say that your feeling about that is wrong, but I would advise you not to completely rule it out. Another child can’t replace the one you lost, naturally, but I found that the joy of watching my new daughter discover the world did ease my grief.

      Best wishes to you. 🙂

      • quincyil says:

I am sorry this happened to you.

I’m sure your daughter is the joy of your life.

      • 2Stupid says:

I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad God blessed you with a daughter. My mom had a son that only lived 4 hours and I often wander how you get through something so painful. I was touched by your words to HD.

      • kotagirl29 says:

I am sorry for your loss, but so happy you were able to have a daughter that has brought you joy.

    • California35 says:

      ((HD)) 😦

    • Mookies1mom says:

I’m so sorry for your loss.

    • boston02127 says:

@HD—My mother had me (and my brother) when she was 38. And we’re natural twins.

    • kotagirl29 says:

Sorry for you loss HD. I cannot imagine how hard that must be. As with every situation you must always do what is best for you.

      • vilzvet says:

I am sorry for the losses told here today. This place is so wonderful and I think it is great that you all feel so comfortable here to reveal such sad moments. I was lucky enough to have 3 kids but my dear sister could not. She actually had a pregnancy “scare” last week at age 46! That would have been incredible though. It was just not meant to be…she does have a great life anyway, travels alot, etc. She has come to terms with it. I wish I had had a baby for her, but I had that idea too late…

        • HD says:

OMG! I had so much work to do today I didn’t even check the board until I got home. It is so nice to read the comments and I was certainly not trying to make anything about me. Thank you all so much for your kind words. I have been blessed to have a daughter (15 years old) and I am so thankful for her and our relationship. How fitting for Mother’s Day weekend. Love you all!

    • AddictedtoBravo says:

HD, I am so sorry for your heart wrenching loss. I lost several babies through miscarriage and then low and behold when I went to the hospital with the last one I met a doctor who was able to help me. I had my first baby at 39 and second at 41. I don’t know your situation but I thought I had hit the wall with no.hope and then it all fell into place. Hang in their

    • BlueSky_Forever says:

HD, sorry for your loss, and to all the others that lost babies too. Hugs to all.

  6. Kukulet says:

I went back and checked out the episode with Lord Wedgwood, and did some other checking through various sources..and gotta say, Rosie Pope is an out and out liar.

    a) Rosie was never a Baroness. I guess she figured that, with a slight British accent and the information that she was born in London included in her bio, Americans would be dumb enough to take her at her word, but it sure ain’t true. Her mother is a life peer who doesn’t use the title. Technically, Rosie can refer to herself as “The Honorable Rosie”, since Mom IS a Baroness, but that’s all.

    b) Rosie referred to Lord Wedgwood as “royalty”-again, probably thinking that Americans are so stupid, no one here would understand the difference. He’s not royalty, he’s nobility-not an “HRH”, merely a “My Lord”. It was actually a really dumb thing for someone with her alleged “heritage” to say. Some Americans may not know the difference, but SHE would, if she were what she claims to be.

    c) You don’t need to set up a special English high tea to ask a member of the peerage to be the godfather of your child. You simply invite him to dinner and ask him.

    d) And what is going on with this chick’s accent? One second, she’s got the clipped British tones, and the second, she’s drawling like she was born in Savannah. It’s irritating me.

    • quincyil says:

People tend to embellish in their real lives and I bet she is so used to saying these things that she did not realize that people would wonder and investigate.
I googled her that night to see if she was listed online.

Over the next few days, I would google “Rosie Pope baroness,” but I kept getting a link to IHJZ’s blog and I knew that I knew nothing about that. LOL

She’s eventually going to explain and retract here statements. It’s embarrassing, but it’s a reality show life lesson that I’m sure none of the reality stars will learn from……………. LOL.

      • Kukulet says:

I hope Rosie does have to make a formal retraction. Her claim is insulting to those who did the work to earn a life peerage. Granted, Tony Blair and his government handed them out like confetti-but it IS an award for a significant contribution in the service of the British Commonwealth.

It’s not like the Nobel Peace Prize-they generally don’t hand out life peerages to people who haven’t done anything to deserve it. 😉

I’m really not clear on what it is that Rosie does. Is she just there to handhold wealthy parents to be?

        • quincyil says:

She had a store with her own maternity clothing line. She has has a second location (I think it’s in Tribeka) with classrooms and how to classes for moms.

If you look at the time frames of the two show, I suspect they already had Rosie’s show in the works and used Bethenny’s to help lead in Rosie’s show. Rosie’s second son was born a while ago and in her own show, she is not pregnant with him.

    • kbinldo says:

British & Southern accents are very similar. When the Beatles first appeared in the US, some folks wondered why the Fab Four sung with Southern accents. 🙂

      • quincyil says:

I bet this is true. I read about dialects and how the moved across the country.

I don’t have a problem understanding Rosie at all. I have friends who speak with accents and my husband has a strong accent so I think I got used to interpreting.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

i still cant understand a thing she says and ive never had a problem understanding people from most countries before

      • Miss Katherine says:

definitely not! while both accents have a drawl, they’re totally different. i’ve lived in the south and my father is british! when i was little i also had a british accent before going to school and my pre school teachers thought i had a speech impediment

    • kotagirl29 says:

She has mentioned that her husband was tryin to teach her to sound more American. But I think she has a speech impediment, i.e. a lisp. Throw a lisp, a muddy British accent and a very muddy attempt to sound American and you get Rosie Pope.

      • klmh says:

Maybe so, but I have yet to see that tongue beyond her bottom teeth. Im not a speech therapist, but am almost positive that could be fixed.

  7. TLM says:

Bethenny tweeted this AM that she’d like to get to 500K followers on Twitter by the finale. I think a challenge has been laid down!! Let’s see if we can find 5,000 more friends to follow her! Address is @bethenny.

  8. WindyCityWondering says:

I am still having a problem with what Rosie actually does! She says she is there for the baby and creating a safe environment for the baby. But then we are treated to self absorbed parents to be, her silly staff and empty storefront, fashion shows and therapy sessions. She labels things chic and yet she dresses like WTH? She is a pleasant enough person but this show makes little sense to me.

    • error404 says:

I actually blame Andy more than I do Rosie. I think the basic premiss is good: Yuppy parents to be who are ill-prepared get a crash course in common sense. So far so good. But instead, we get these really OTT weirdos who are absolutely nothing like the viewer demographic, and the whole thing gets derailed fairly quickly. To me, that’s a fault of production. I’m sure it would get rather dull by the 6th episode of watching nice people who have just been too career focused to pay much attention to child rearing stuff before they had to make it a priority, but starting off the very first episode with something so ridiculous lost a lot of viewers right form the get go IMO.

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

“Pregnant in Heels” is produced by Hud:sun Media for Bravo

dont think Andy may have had anything to do with this except ok it

        • Error404 says:

Maybe. But he did pick it. If he had any pre-production suggestions about direction when they pitched the concept, I don’t know. But hecertainly didn’t reject it as being too fantastical.

          • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Yeah im pretty sure your right about him picking it

just not sure who decided to run it after having shelved it
ive tried and tried to watch it but i never make it past 5 minutes between her annoying voice and the people that come to her for help this show annoys me MORE then Millionaire Matchmaker
and i didnt think that was possiable

  9. AZ Girl says:

Jill tweeted a picture an hour ago that she is backstage at Oprah’s getting a tour with Lisa. I find it really hard to believe that Oprah would have anything to do with Jill. Good news is that Jill is wearing her bangs again in the picture. Much better look.

    • lovemamaearth says:

I wonder who gets tours and who doesn’t.

This is sweet from Nick’s blog:
It was a beautiful day out, the type I enjoy and others see as dreariness, not so sunny and probably around 57, with just that edge of chill that keeps you going, makes you remember you can feel the world around you.

More importantly, it was the day the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck re-opened and we were off on a mile-walk pilgrimage.

  10. TLM says:

    • AZ Girl says:

OMG! Poor Hoda. Combination of Theresa and Kathy Lee is dumbness multiplied by 1000.

      • vilzvet says:

Darn I missed it. I was watching the Oprah of yesterday with Shania.

        • cabbie413 says:

you didnt miss anything – “alls” she said was “you’re gonna have to watch and see” – that was the answer to every housewife question. With regard to her new book – fabulicious – “alls” she said was that it’s a book about cooking for your family making sure to give them all the calcium and nutrients that they need. <– no, seriously, that's what she said.

Kathy Lee obviously was annoyed by her! Kathy asked about her court date coming up next month and Theresa said "no.. I don't have a court date" and Kathy says "oh yes, yes I think you do." and Theresa says "no.. not me. I don't think I do." and of course Kathy says "yes I think so…must be someone else then.." lol

          • Lavalady says:

Teresa has the annoying habit of not finishing her words:

Watch what happens on the sixteenth becomes

Wat wha happen on the sixteen

          • quincyil says:

            From the IHJZ research files:

There are two different adversary cases pending but they are both ultimately about the same thing.
Her original bankruptcy petition, Case 09-39032-MS Giuseppe Giudice and Teresa Giudice, was filed 29 October 2009. This was a Chapter 7 filing, seeking to discharge all debt (except those they they reaffirm).

The trustee is the guy who basically is hired by the Court to take control of the estate. He has to figure out what property there is and protect it until all the claims by creditors and claimed exemptions by the debtors can be sorted out.
The trustee – John Sywilok – filed an adversary action Adversary Proceeding #: 10-01845-MS to object to the discharge. That case is scheduled to go to trial on July 14.
Then there is also the U.S. Trustee, who seeks to promote the efficiency and protect the integrity of the Federal bankruptcy system. To further the public interest in the just, speedy and economical resolution of cases filed under the Bankruptcy Code, the Program monitors the conduct of bankruptcy parties and private estate trustees, oversees related administrative functions, and acts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and procedures. It also identifies and helps investigate bankruptcy fraud and abuse in coordination withUnited States Attorneys, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other law enforcement agencies.
The U.S. Trustee, Roberta DeAngelis, also filed an adversary proceeding to object to the discharge. That case – 10-02150-MS DeAngelis v. Giudice et al – is scheduled to go to trial on October 13 & 14 of this year.

Well, God bless KL for trying to ask a real question! Ter is a born liar and never seems to let small details like being the world’s worst liar stop her from spewing nothing but lies 24/7.

              I don’t understand
One – why go to a talkshow if you don’t want to answer, or if you have something to hide.
Two – if you go to the talk show and don’t want to talk about something, why not say that instead of lying to the host’s face and on TV!!

          • boston02127 says:

@cabbie413—The “countess” said “alls” last week! I laughed when that came out of her mouth.

          • vilzvet says:

Oh that sounded like a must-see! Kathie rocks today. I hope Teresa does not have a best seller with this next book. All I know is one of the recipes is called “Joe’s Juicy Meatballs” and that was getting alot of flak.

    • klmh says:

I hate this, but Teresa was technically correct. Next month they aren’t due in court. Its in July. The Giudice’s should be in jail.

  11. quincyil says:

It’s a formula show very similar to Tabatha’s Salon Makeover. After the second week, I knew what the rest of the series would be like. They have an entry into the show that features NYC streets and her shop with her assistants doing something that is contrived every week. Then Rosie is in her limo to take the next unusual assignment which she always things is wacky, but will do it because she is a maternity concierge and that is what she does. (There are different concierges in affluent places. Doctors, lawyers and therapists all act as concierges to the rich.)

Then we go to the homes of the moms and give them Maternity IQ tests (which they did not mention this week BTW) and inspect the home to see how prepared the mom is for the due date. Melissa from the mansion was the most prepared so far. Rosie thought she was over prepared because of the team of women advisors, but there is no “just right” with Rosie.

The husbands are either MIA or they wish they were MIA after watching the show.

Rosie always knows the solution to every problem.

The parents turn out to be ready and loving in the last part of the show thanks to Rosie.

We all know that having a child is a learning process and we are better parents after we have experienced the ups and downs. The producers and editor have canned the formula for this show with a few variations so it’s easy to blog.

It’s light hearted compared to Mob Wives, Nene on Celebrity Apprentice and my contributions to the study of Jill Zarin so I enjoy watching and writing this blog.

I’m glad that Rosie successfully had a second child and if there are women in Manhattan that are stupid enought to be filmed for a second season, I’m sure that grandmothers on the prairie will watch it.

There is a new show coming soon in this time slot so I think this show is almost over.

  12. cabbie413 says:

just saw Christie Brinkley on Wendy Williams Show and I have to ask..what is she on?! She’s flighty and stretches her words and I think she’s looks awful now. She’s no longer natural and it’s obvious she’s had some work done. She no longer looks the same and it’s disappointing!

Why is it so BAD to just age gracefully these days??

    • quincyil says:

I have never seen the Wendy Williams show here. Is it only in the East?

        • quincyil says:

We must be in the 5 percent. We have Fox, but I have never see that show listed.

I pray this woman didn’t have a brow lift, but it sure looks like she did. Her eyes don’t look the same at all. I think brow lifts should be illegal. In all but a few cases, they ruin peoples’ faces.

She always did sound like she was either on drugs or VERY affected when she spoke, even going way back. I actually thought her speech sounded much more natural here than before!! She still looked normal in October http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drb4VRMVY7s.

Whoever made the comment about aging gracefully – I fully agree! I just don’t get the whole hoopla to look 20 forever. Hell, I’ve lived this life and I own it!

I used to color my hair only to get rid of the gray, except for a massive white forelock in the front – like Bonnie Raitt (except I have very dark brown hair.) Well, I quit coloring my hair and I’ve discovered that my gray (white, actually) outlines my face with no (okay…very little) white throughout the rest of my hair. I love it! People have commented on it and tell me that’s how they remember me.

i recall someone posting they thought Andy had some work done but anyone looking at his pixs from the start till now can see he is aging and isnt doing anything regarding it

She looks better back to her look.

She really is excited about being there, she has been talking about it for days now.

      • lovemamaearth says:

I can’t wait to see Jill’s profile in recent shots to see if she had a nose job. We got a great view of her when she was talking about wearing a cap and gown at MENY.

    • I get the feeling some of Oprah’s producers are fans of the Real Housewives. Jill was probably invited to go to Harpo Studios by one of the producers. I wonder if it will bother Jill if she found out that the producer that she has been hanging out with for the past couple of days, Lindsay, also tweeted Bethenny a few weeks ago and invited her to come to Harpo Studios. It was when Bethenny was in Chicago to do the Bravo Upfronts. I don’t know if Bethenny went but I am sure that if she did, she wouldn’t go on Twitter and brag about it constantly. *shakes head*

Okay, I have been feeling under the weather for the last three days. Up coughing all night and I am just as grouchy as I can be. I finally watched an entire episode of PIH, thanks to Q, and I have one question, where are their mothers? best friends? aunts? Or, BOOKS? I feel like I visited an alternate universe.

I was dumbfounded by the rocker? What? You mean to tell me that she didn’t NOTICE that the CD rack would fall over on a baby? That goofball boyfriend was laughing about having swords and skulls around; not to mention obscenities all over his guitars?

The woman refusing to wear one of Rosie’s dresses after she agreed to auction her designs for her charity? Who does these things? Okay, calming down now.

Quincy, I was determined to watch because I just love your recaps. After the show my old Irish grandmother’s words rang in my ears “Mimi, darlin, there are more horse’s asses in the world than there are horses”.

Q, your pearls on the blog are the reason I watched and, you know, I really liked Rosie but the show was just eh. Baroness Smaroness, like Luann…you are in the US now dahling. She may have just mentioned that her mother refused a title and it was like the birthday party game where the story ends up completely diff. Do we care? She isn’t trying to pass herself off as royalty really.

Thanks for the recap I will resume drinking tea now. Cough cough

    • TLM says:

The obscenities on the guitars, I didn’t see as an immediate issue; obviously the kid is not going to be able to read them. I would no sooner tell a musician to take stickers off a guitar than I would tell him to stop being a musician. I think the focus should have been totally on safety risks. The guitar should have been put away in a case for THAT reason, along with all the other goth crap.

I don’t know that the rocker dad was any more aggravating to me than the spoiled beyond belief, entitled women who have paraded through the show so far. Like the one who smiled that she shouldn’t have to change diapers because “it’s work (grin).” Or the one who said she’s always gotten her way in life with EVERYONE, so why should it be any different that she gets her way in determining her child’s religion?

      • quincyil says:

They blurred the writing on his tee shirts at time also. I think he likes those words.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

didnt see the show but they sometimes do that because they didnt get clearence from the company who made the shirts

    • quincyil says:

Sometimes when I am sick like your are, I use pillow and prop myself up on the couch to sleep. That way the fluids in your nose will not choke you as much. Sleep is the key to recovery.

I think Rosie is probably hard working, but I have noticed interviews of New Yorkers on their streets during election times and they seemed to not come from Smallsville. Those women do have families, but their moms are having lunch with Jill Zarin and are too busy to help them paint the nursery.

I took time off to paint my daughter’s…yellow with a blue border.

Smallsville goes to CT for grandma time as often as she is wanted.

    • klmh says:

I hope you’re feeling better Mimisfbay.
I must tell you that the phrase your grandmother used “Mimi, darlin, there are more horse’s asses in the world than there are horses” is one of the best I have ever heard and thank you for sharing that. I have it saved on my fav. quotes now. I bet she was a fabulous person.

Watching the 2007 wedding of Lauri and George. It’s so weird to see Tamra and Simon and Vicki and Donn and see that 2 couples are no more. I am impressed and somewhat surprised that the Petersons are still together. I think the production company did an outstanding job of filming the wedding.

    • California35 says:

That was a nice wedding…I saw it way back.. I think that was the first season I watch of OC, although I did see some older episodes.

    • quincyil says:

I remember it. It was beautiful. At least, those two are still together.

      • NJ Bev says:

        It’s showing now, here.
this was the last good season of OC for me. I had always
found this group of women to be fun and more of what this
show was supposed to be like. I liked Tammy Knickerbocker
and enjoyed her storyline. this was Tammy sue’s first
year, while she was still the “hottest housewife”(before
Gretchen, who stole her title the next year) and she was
        still humble and in control.
Laurie added a lot to the show and after she married
        George she had other priorities.
I think the market tanked after this season, so the OC
fairytale died for most of these people as well as much of
        the country……………….

        • mariareads says:

I have been recording the old OC shows and I watch them at night when I can’t sleep. I too enjoyed those seasons and I really did like the original Tammy and her story line. It was interesting and she was different. I remember some people not liking George, but I never got that feeling when I watched. I thought he seemed like a nice guy.

          • vilzvet says:

      • vilzvet says:

That really is one of my all-time favorite sitcoms. It’s totally underrated and was hilarious. She nailed that part perfectly. Definitely mean at times but it was part of her charm. I doubt you are that mean, lovely Boston! I can watch that show every day.

  17. boston02127 says:

I just read the posts. I don’t understand about the suspenders. Quincy you mentioned something about nylons too. What is this for when you’re pregnant?

    • IndianaHousewife says:

Hi Boston. Obviously I am not Quincy, however I believe she is talking about when your pantyhose are too small for your belly and they roll down. In my personal experience (three children) once that elastic gets started moving it gathers a force all its own and goes from your belly button to your knees in no time. Also at this point in time women who worked in a professional or semi-professional job were not considered dressed appropriately unless they had the hose. I hated them then and still do!

Back when I had my children I lived in a rural area and maternity items where not as available as they are now. Even my undies would roll down my stomach.

    Good morning all,
Jill is sooooooo transparent. You have to laugh at her. Of course she watched BEA last Monday so she knows next week the $120 million is going to come out. So what does our little pathetic child do? She goes on Oprah and then pretends she has some deal with her over the summer. Did everyone see all the pictures of Jill and Oprah together back stage? Exactly, me neither.
Jill, GET A HOBBY PLEASE!!! Ginger should be your hobby. All we’ve heard for the last 4 years is how much you love your dog. I now, find that statement offensive.

    • boston02127 says:

@Nancy–Good Afternoon! It’s 2:30 here. I already feel like I’ve put in a day and I have to go back out to work in a little while. About Jill tweeting about Oprah. From what I understand Jill is going to the Oprah studio to watch an Oprah show and that’s it. I’m hoping & praying Oprah doesn’t mention a word that Jill Zarin is in the audience. Is there something else going on with Jill & Oprah. I can’t see Oprah putting up with Jill.

Jill is so dumb. If she’d just shut her mouth and DO SOMETHING worth while that consists of working and putting her heart and soul in, she may get herself reconized. She’s lazy. Lazy lazy lazy.

      • Nancy says:

boston, I thought I read in one of Jill’s tweets that Oprah gave her all these “projects” to do over the summer. Someone from here gave a link to it yesterday. I’ll try to find it after my “boyfriend’s”
show is over. (aka Cesar Millan) He is my hero. In my next life I want to be a “Whisperer” of all animals.

        • boston02127 says:

Projects from Oprah??? Does Lynn know? Hmmm…

Of alllllllll the people Oprah knows, she picks Jill? Maybe Oprah is losing her mind?

          • Jill tweeted this last night:

Jillzarin: Had the most wonderful time with My new Oprah family and look forward to all the projects! This will keep me going all summer! See u in am!

            • error404 says:

This is classic liar non lies, worthy of the Salahis.

              Let me translate:
“My new Oprah family” = the bouncers who escorted her out after being told she was allowed backstage.
“all the projects! ” = the moldy book tour, the spank rip-off junk, the urinestream videos, emotionally preparing for the first day of the last week of Ally’s summer vacation, etc… Jill is always very busy!

Jill never said Oprah gave her any projects, and if anyone was silly enough to misunderstand her just because she put the two separate thoughts together into one sentence strongly implying such, well it just proves what lengths her haterz will go to diss her. LOL

          • California35 says:

No, Jill lost her mind 😛

Jill is telling us this knowing that it won’t happen and she will look even worst.

I would think that IF Oprah had her on the show (or has projects with her); she would have other of the wives.

Remember that when Jill says SHE is going to be somewhere it usually means that she will be ONE of the many wives or people there lol

Also, the show could be about something very negative not necessarily something nice.

            • Nancy says:

Oprah is a very smart lady and I have no doubt she knows all about Jill Zarin.
If Jill wants to play “dress up” all summer we’ll let her as she truly is the gift that keeps on giving. God bless her.

              • quincyil says:

I don’t know if Oprah knows about Jill Zarin. Oprah is busy actually doing things and I bet she does not watch a lot of television.

                • Nancy says:

You maybe right. I hope so.

                • mariareads says:

Oh, but her teams know about Jill and the housewives. That’s their jobs. Since Oprah has OWN and is not hurting for ideas, I don’t believe that Jill will get anything out of it. Just stupid.

      • Shannon says:

I think Jill was told she had to apologies to everyone for everything she did wrong. Which should take about 3 to 4 months. lol 🙂

    • klmh says:

Maybe the projects Oprah has for her and other housewives, is to learn how to be a better person, to work on herself and become a productive human being instead of what she is, maybe. 🙂

The fact that Pregant in Heels has been wasting on the shelf before we got to see it and that Rosie hasn’t been on WWHL makes me think this show is a one time event. Rosie should have been invited to talk about the royal wedding at least.
I like Rosie fine but I do not enjoy watching a bunch of hormonal pregnant women make holehills out of mountains. Sorry.

Who else noticed that Rosie looked 3-4 mos pregnant in last night’s epi? She kept holding bags over her belly.

    • quincyil says:

I don’t think they are filming the second season yet. She has gone through a pregnancy and the baby was born in Jan. That is a long time.

    • kotagirl29 says:

I don’t know if she was pregnant in the episode although I thought I saw a baby bump when she was playing guitar hero. I do know that she did eventually get pregnant because she has two kids listed on her Bravo bio and when I was trying to find out more about her being a Baroness she was getting congrats on baby Wellington.

      • quincyil says:

She was pregnant, but it was ectopic and then they discussed trying again. They might have edited it though and added the discussion with her husband. I saw the bump too. They may have edited the scene about trying again into the show.

    • klmh says:

I know you have a hectic schedule Boston, but that stuff can be dangerous. There have been some recent articles concerning this…

  21. Nancy says:

Totally off topic and I hope I don’t open a can of worms but I’d like to hear how you all think about shooting Osama bin laden dead vs bringing him in alive? Doesn’t everyone deserve due process?

    • kotagirl29 says:

I think that we spent the past 10 years trying to find him and bring him in. And it didn’t work. I am sure they would have preferred to bring him in alive, but circumstances would not allow for that. I am glad he is dead and I doubt anyone ever expected a different outcome. I don’t think he would have been the type of guy to come out with his hands above his head.

    • VAgirl says:

And what due process would that be? He’s admitted on tape that he was the mastermind of 911 hasn’t he? Would you have rather had him sit somewhere like GTMO for years and years waiting for “due process” so that he could make himself out to be a martyr for his followers? I think it was the appropriate outcome for this monster. I’m not for being politically correct in this case. Just my opinion.

    • lovemamaearth says:

I think OBL said he’d never be taken alive. And sources have said OBL didn’t know as much as the other guy about the 911 plans.

I’m not sorry he’s gone. I hope the “dancing in the streets” that was said to have happened in other countries on 911, didn’t happen here.

Coincidence that Oprah’s topic is what it is today.

      • HD says:

I don’t think he would have been taken alive.

      • lovemamaearth says:

BTW, I’ve heard that much of the “dancing in the streets” didn’t really happen — some of the photos were of wedding and such. But the hype seemed to serve TPTB to jusify invasions.

    • Kukulet says:

Due process is an AMERICAN legal principle that mandates that the government must respect all of the legal rights that are owed to a person within our borders according to the laws of the USA. OBL was not American, was not within our borders, was not entitled to the protection of the laws of the United States – yet the soldiers still abided by due process.

The soldiers arrived at his compound and gave him the opportunity to surrender peacefully (due process-respecting his human rights under the laws of the USA), but he CHOSE to suspend all rights by opening fire on the soldiers and forcing them to defend themselves.

He was given a clear choice and he made it. Would you have preferred that the American soldiers to have just stood there and died themselves, so as not to violate OBL’s “right to due process”?

      • lovemamaearth says:

I’m not a lawyer, but the Nuremberg trials were due process and well done. And giving it to our “enemies” tends to take the hate out of their sails to some degree.

        • quincyil says:

Al Qaeda admitted attacked NYC. Obama admitted it on video.

They really didn’t want a trial.

          • lovemamaearth says:

True. But some have confessed to crimes when they didn’t do them. And I’ve heard there’s some evidence that some of the videos were faked. I don’t know. I just know I don’t want our behavior and actions to be just like theirs.

Apparently, al Qaeda hates America because of our foreign policies and how it butts into things that aren’t any of our business. It seems to be a very valid point although their 911 murders were not valid (to put it mildly).

And I heard that Iraqi oil has been auctioned off already. None of our business but that didn’t stop us. Sad.

        • Kukulet says:

I agree with you, and I agree with the concept of due process. Ideally, OBL should have been tried for his crimes.

BUT he eliminated that option by opening fire. And he knew what he was doing, and what the outcome would be-it’s pretty clear that he didn’t want to be taken alive.

At the moment he began squeezing that trigger, due process became a moot point.

      • Nancy says:

I’m not saying I’m unhappy about the outcome. I’ve only heard that bringing him out alive was never an option and OBL was unarmed. That’s the part I’m having a hard time about. Did killing him put the US in more threat? Maybe we could have gotten some information out of him? Don’t get me wrong I hated the “man” and I’m personally glad he’s gone. It’s just not back and white to me.

        • Kukulet says:

I’m not sure what reports you are reading, but most of the reports that have appeared have stressed the OBL WAS armed and he DID open fire.

          • lovemamaearth says:

            I heard that too.

Might be contradictory of me, but I’m glad he wasn’t taken alive and had the fiasco that happened with Saddam, happen to OBL.

          • Nancy says:

I must be going mad because as of last night on CNN they said he was unarmed.

          • Cheri says:

You need to listen to the news

      • Nancy says:

That’s not what CNN in saying. He was UNARMED.

        • VAgirl says:

But don’t you think he had some armed people around him? I believe they gave him a chance to surrender and he would not. You don’t give someone like that a second chance. Otherwise you have a lot of dead SEALS and he’s still not captured. I haven’t been watching the news as closely as I should about this because I don’t like all the “conjecture” by some supposed newscasters (I’m not talking about anyone in particular here). Nobody knows what the results of his demise will be upon the world and I don’t like all the analytical guessing about it. I’ll leave that to the intelligence community. That’s what they are there for. I’m funny that way.

          • VAgirl says:

And how did they know he was unarmed at the time? He could have had a concealed weapon or even a bombed attached to him. You don’t have time to analyse things like that in the moment.

            • quincyil says:

Reading this thread all I could think about was bin Laden would murder all of us happily.

                without due process.

which is what makes us different from him.

                or should.

                • twoile says:

@n, OBL had already “claimed credit” 4 the twin towers 9/11. It seems 2 me that he (alive) was a greater (known) threat 2 US etc.
Due process served IMO! armed or not.

          • nathania says:

I honestly think it would have been gratifying for there to have been a trial. The death and burial at sea…gee I really hope it’s all true but only the fishes know at this point, yanno?

I think they would have taken him alive if they could have. Clearly there was a shootout. I know they waterboarded at least one guy to get information about the location of the compound so I am sure they would have been more than happy to torture Osama as well for whatever information he might give them. Bush wasn’t going to do it, in my opinion Bush knew the whole time OBL was in Pakistan, he said early on that OBL ‘wasn’t important anymore’ and ‘didn’t matter’ to him. OBL apparently inherited $300 mill when he was 14. That is just one kid in a big family (I believe one of his brothers, Salem bin Laden, was in business with GW Bush back in the day as well), so there are massive amounts of money under that name and I always believed a deal was made and money changed hands, for OBL to ‘disappear in to our friendly ally Pakistan and go inactive, and we’d just look the other way, at least while Bush was in office since the Bushes and bin Ladens go so far back. Obama, needless to say, wasn’t playing that.

        • Kukulet says:

Wow…I’m sorry. I didn’t watch the news last night and didn’t read today’s top stories until just now. I honestly had no idea that the current reports state that OBL wasn’t armed. I’m really sorry, Nancy, that I spoke out of turn.

I’m deeply shocked. US officials have done a complete 180 on the details of what took place. The reports all say that he “resisted” without explaining further, but if OBL wasn’t armed, then I have to think that shooting him violates humanitarian law.

          • VAgirl says:

Humanitarian laws! Give me a break. There was nothing humane about this monster who, as Quincy would say, would be happy to kill us all and would have absolutely no qualms about it. Sorry, but that’s how I feel and I may be the only one here who does.

            • Kukulet says:

Give you a break? I didn’t write the Geneva Conventions.

Personally, I think he got just what he deserved.

Less personally, if we violated the GC to coldly kill him, then we are no better than he was.

              • VAgirl says:

IMO, the Geneva Convention should not apply to him, but that’s what makes this a great place to live, we’re free to express our opinions.

                • lovemamaearth says:

I’d think the Gen Convention would apply to all humans. I have mixed emotions as Kuku does but after the War of Tonkin lies, I don’t trust the government to always tell the truth.

    • BlueSky_Forever says:

No not everyone deserves due process. JMO but this is war Nancy. obl would gladly kill us all. al queda does not give due process when they chop off journalist’s heads (google Pearl). When those planes crashed into the World Trade Center there was no due process. When so many families lost their loved ones in 9/11 there was no due process. When I see 3 of my son’s close friends who all lost their fathers to that madman obl’s evil machinations Nancy I don’t think about due process. I want the war to end….al queda & obl started this & we the people of the USA will proudly do what has to be done. I am proud to be an American, proud of Obama, & damn proud of those brave Navy Seals that did the job.

      • BlueSky_Forever says:

Just so you know, I am not in favor of killing for killing’s sake. Just when it is necessary in times of war. My grandfather was in France WWI on a hospital train; my father in WWII in the Navy and many relatives fought in WWII. My adopted son wants to be in the Marines. Nancy we need our military to protect us. Some day I hope there will be peace the world over. In the mean time, we will not sit by and let evil organizations like al queda attack us. Anyone who underestimates the evil intent of al queda needs to wake up.

      • kotagirl29 says:

Well said Blue. We the People agreed to/decided immediately after 9/11 that we would get those responsible. There is a lot of hurt and anger as a result of terrorist attacks across the globe, but none more so that here in the USA. Sorry, but I did a happy dance when I heard the news. If that makes me a bad person so be it.

        • lovemamaearth says:

The problem with dancing in the streets here is that it will probably make their news, add to their propaganda against us and likely get another journalist kidnapped or killed. If we act like that and we have the privileges of growing up in a civilized country, what can we expect of them where they grew up in “an eye for an eye” country. Literally.

          • kotagirl29 says:

I didn’t mean that I literally got up and started dancing and I do think that broadcasting celebrations of his death could be dangerous; however I was pretty damn happy to hear that he died. As were many. I’m sorry but when someone evil is killed or dies (for whatever reason) I think it is just desserts and I’m relieved and happy.

      • nathania says:

well actually the CIA started this when they trained the mujahadeen to fight the Russians in Afghanistan.

The origins of al-Qaeda as a network inspiring terrorism around the world and training operatives can be traced to the Soviet War in Afghanistan (December 1979 – February 1989).[56] The U.S. viewed the conflict in Afghanistan, with the Afghan Marxists and allied Soviet troops on one side and the native Afghan mujahideen radical Islamic militants on the other, as a blatant case of Soviet expansionism and aggression. The U.S. channeled funds through Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency to the Afghan Mujahideen fighting the Soviet occupation in a CIA program called Operation Cyclone.[57][58]

to me what caused all of this is cars needing gas which allowed a whole bunch of lunatics on both sides of the ocean to get rich and in positions of power and so they could kill the poor with fighting over more oil so they could get more power and more money. It’s a never ending cycle, it seems. The whole history needs to be taken into account. I would feel better about this in the sense of closure were it not for the ridiculous and illegal war in Iraq which has cost so many civilians and military lives based on a lie. That puts a pallor on this for me. So many lives lost in vain.

        • BlueSky_Forever says:

Nathania I respect your opinion. We do not get all the news here in the U.S. al queda was responsible for blowing up civilian airplanes in India for years, going back at least 30 years. It is an evil organization that uses terror to cause fear, panic and murder to achieve their political ends. Did you read about the attack on Mumbai (Bombay, India) not long ago?

I agree that many lives have been lost and that Iraqi & Afghanistani citizens have suffered terribly. The only good thing to happen in Iraq is the death of saddam hussein & his sons. al queda became active in Iraq after the US attacked it. Then countless other jihadis went to Iraq to kill US/British etc. coalition forces. What a mess it became. Afghanistan is a mess too. Has anyone been helped by our forces going into these countries? It’s hard to say. Did going into Iraq & Afghanistan to spread democracy and help these countries modernize encourage Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen, etc. people to protest their dictatorships? Again hard to say. Perhaps they would have had their freedom movements anyway.

If we can stop these lunatic jihadis from obtaining the nuclear bombs that Pakistan has then isn’t that worth it? I do believe what we are fighting for is worth the costs. I am praying every day that it will be over soon.

Normally I am a pacifist. However, IMO sometimes we do need to go to war. Remember Hitler & Japan…if the US had not gone into WWII where would we be today. When monsters like Hitler and OBL do their worst, then who will stand up to them? Sometimes we do need to take that stand and protect ourselves from further attack. Getting obl is a huge deal. It lets al queda & the taliban know that if you attack us, we will be relentless.

American Greg Mortensen is now under attack for building schools in the Afghanistan/Pakistan remote regions for girls. He wrote 2 books, one is “Three Cups of Tea.” If we could drop teachers, books & schools on these people perhaps the outcome would be better.

These jihadis (taliban, al queda) totally put down women. That bothers me. However it is their culture, let them live as they wish to live. It’s when they attack us that I really have a problem!

Someday soon I do hope we the human race will be able to solve our differences without going to war.

OT, but yesterday VAgirl mentioned that she didn’t recognize the names of the figure skaters Nancy mentioned from her recent trip to the world championships.

In case anyone’s interested, the winner of the ladies’ crown was Miki Ando, the same skater Jill was yelled at for skating too close to and endangering on RHNY last season. LOL I’m surprised Jill didn’t tweet something about it! PR101

    • quincyil says:

Thank goodness Jill didn’t hurt Miki Ando….

    • VAgirl says:

Yes I’m surprised Jill didn’t mention that her good friend won the world championship since they were both on the rink at the same time – that makes them good friends – right? LOL.

    • Nancy says:

You forgot about the remark Jill said to one of her trolls after being yelled at.
“I’ll get him” (or something like that). If I was on the ice I would have done more than yell at her. She could have really hurt someone. And that dress she was wearing. Cringe worthy.
What is your take on the Rachele Flatt “issue”? I think Rachele and Jill should meet.

      • VAgirl says:

Nancy – I’m interested. What is the Rachel Flatt issue? I know she’s a skater, but what’s up with her?

        • Error404 says:

She skated poorly and admitted in her post skate interview that she knew she had a stress fracture in her leg before she even flew to Russia. Well, she was obliged to tell her federation and have them decide if she was still going or if they would send a replacement. Now they opened an investigation into the matter. It may seem trivial to some but she didn’t follow the rules. It’s also somewhat controversial because her coach has a reputation for encouraging his Skaters to compete injured and thus risk real harm.

        • Nancy says:

The US was only allowed to send 2 women to worlds this year due to our poor showing last yr. They (USFSA) bring the winner and the runner-up from Nationals. This year Allissa C. won and Rachele was the runner-up. Third place went to the young lady that placed 4th at the Vancouver Olympics. Rachele knew she had a stress fracture in her right lower leg BEFORE
heading out to Russia. She didn’t tell anyone until it was too late to have her replaced. She skated horribly so the US will once again only be able to send 2 women to the 2012 Worlds. It was soo selfish of her. The USFSA (aka God in the skating world in the US) isn’t very happy about what happened and I have a feeling heads are going to roll.

      • Error404 says:

I think it was purely selfish. She knew she wasn’t up to it but hoped to somehow get lucky and not miss out on a possible last chance at worlds. I know I’ve beentold repeatedly for years what a genuine sweetheart dear she is, but I’ve always thought it was a big ole phony act.

        • Nancy says:

She can kiss goodbye to any skating shows this summer.
I’ve never liked her or her skating. She tries to hard to be artistic and it comes across as cheesy. Send her off to Stanford asap. She should look up Debbie Thomas as they have a lot in common.

          • VAgirl says:

Now I do know who Debbie Thomas is/was.

          • error404 says:

she used to bore me, but not bother me. In recent years though, she both bores and bothers me, for the same reason Star and Phaedra drive me nuts.

In housewife speak: Am I proud of my own higher education and professional status? Yes. Do I think it makes me better than others because I achieved goals that others perhaps don’t even share? No!

Yeah, yeah, you’re lawyer, you’re an “educated black woman”, you took a bunch of AP classes and got into a blinging school… I heard ya the first 165,595 times. Now shut up about it already! LOL

Operation meet Vicki Gulvason is in full effect. VAGirl posted that she would be here tomorrow and I will be going which means I’m gonna have to buy her book. Uhhhhhhh I like Vicki but the only housewife product I have EVER bought was SGM. I wish I had an IHJZ T-shirt to wear just in case I happen to get a photo with her. If I meet her I will let you all know how it went. Thanks VAGirl for the info.

    • quincyil says:

Do you have a Hobby Lobby…. Jill bought tee shirts and Ally decorated them for Bobby’s cruise birthday vacation. I say make your own IHJZ tee shirt.

I would love a photo of you and Vicki BTW.

    • VAgirl says:

You’re welcome. If you want a monetary donation towards the book that you probably won’t read, let me know. I’ll contribute. I read it somewhere that she was going to be there. You might want to double check since I wouldn’t want youto make a trip for nothing. Wouldn’t it be great if Lynn collected pictures of various posters “posting” with a “housewife” and we managed to cover them all? They all usually have something they are selling or shilling somewhere. So far, nobody has come close to my neck of the woods or I would definitely visit – any of them – just to get a picture for Lynn’s blog.

      • VAgirl says:

        Sorry I meant “posing.”

      • VAgirl says:

HD. That didn’t sound right about the book that you probably won’t read. I just think that it might not be an interesting book, but I may be totally wrong. I don’t dislike Vicki either so at least you’re not going to see someone you absolutely do not like.
Thanks for going and I would like to hear about it whether you actually get to meet her or not.

    • California35 says:

Hi HD, you are going? Be prepare for all the “whoo hooo!” lol

Let’s make those shirts!! I would BUY one for SURE.

Lynn, would we need some kind of “permission” to make those or can we just go ahead and make our own? I would help on getting them done. I have a company I work with who make my business cards.

Ok – sorry I got carried away – I guess I need a “hubby” lol

      • quincyil says:

Lynn will stop by tonight, but I think she would laugh if you made those shirts.

        • California35 says:

          🙂 for me and friends?

I could do that, but I meant for her to sell or give away 🙂

      • HD says:

I would love a IHJZ shirt so it can kind of be our little joke when we take pictures with the housewives when someone actually gets a chance to meet them. Lynn, I think you have a new venture to start out on. 🙂

@ VAGirl, I did check with the store and she is scheduled to be there at 7:30. I totally got what you meant about the book. No worries. It is not something I will be pressing to read but I will read it one day.

        • Golden Girl says:

OMG HD you have got to make that shirt and meet Vicki Can you have a fiend take your picture with Vicki while you are wearing the IHJZ shirt and then tweet it to the housewives! I die I die lol.

  26. California35 says:

OT – I had lunch with a good girlfriend. She works nearby but we don’t do lunch often, we say we will and then months go by.

She had told me of a job that she was hoping would open in her company. She told a few times a while back, but I didn’t hear back about it again. Today she told me very casually that there was an opening that just got filled. That she was asked if she knew someone she could recommend. She told them that she had the perfect person BUT she wasn’t crazy to recommend her to work for that manager.

aaahh I guess it is for the best. Why would I go to a job where the manager won’t be good? In a way though, I wonder if I would have the same impression. In that case there would have been some uncomfortable feeling if my friend doesn’t like the manager and I did. I guess it is all for the best. I just got a little feeling that I wished I had at least was given the chance. Any ways I just wanted to share the almost good news … 😦

On the other hand, we have an interview going on today for a key position (manager position for part of my department). It is someone I meet before who did work for this company when we were smaller, and actually interviewed for a full time position but didn’t work out. The position was lower for his label, but the company wasn’t ready for the available position now. I worked with him directly and he was very pleasant and grateful for my support, at the same time he was very helpful and gave me great advice. It was weird to see him today, and I was surprise he is interviewing for this. At this point I don’t know if he joining in would benefit me as it would have been in the past, but I am sure he would be GREAT at it and great asset. I wish he had taken the job before, I am sure I would be in a total different situation now.

    • lovemamaearth says:

Maybe the manager is a JillZarin. Maybe your friend helped you dodge the bullet that Bethenny got hit with.

You have a great attitude with the guy in the last part of your story.

      • California35 says:

Yeah, she sounds like a JillZ 😛 my friend said it was a pitty that that person is like that. She is just very dificult to work with or work for. She is very happy she doesn’t work for her, they just work for the same boss. Can you imagine me leaving this job for something like that NOO!! 🙂

You are right! I am positive about this guy. Weather he takes/gets this job, just by having him here reminded me of how I can be treated (unlike I am now). It is just like the original founders and original employees, they are very nice.

      • Golden Girl says:

I see both sides, it would have been nice if you were given the chance to decide if the boss would be difficult to work with, my girlfriends and I have totally different experience with other people. I can also see how as a friend its hard not to automatically protect your friend against someone you see as not so great to work with. Good luck on the interview with the other guy and yes I do think things happen for a reason.

        • California35 says:

🙂 Thank you. Good luck with him to get this job. I wonder if I would have told him to run run instead of trying to work here LOL and protect him like my friend is trying to protect me. We are not friends though, besides, we just never know maybe the company NOW is ready for someone like him. There is a lot of “fixing” to do, and I am sure he would be the man to do it (uless he leaves giving up).

Uh-oh, looks like Kelly Killoren Bensimon has some competition for TASTEMAKER status!!!

Spoiled-beyond-belief Rosie Pope client Mina-Jacqueline Au is now trying to leverage her embarrassing appearance into, I don’t know, some sort of career. I guess she figures at the very least she can get free stuff from people who are afraid if they don’t give it to her, her baby will die from her utter cluelessness and preoccupation with caviar servers over baby bottles.

The “About” on Mina’s Facebook page:
Mina-Jacqueline Au is known for her taste for the extraordinary. Appointed a “Luxury Lifestyle Connoisseur” by the media, her advice is featured on TV shows that are seen by more than 2 million viewers nation wide as well as newspapers & magazines.

So I guess the new words for “tastemaker” are “luxury lifestyle connoisseur.” Oh, how far can we sling the bullshit?? What happened, did she get asked one question by Parents Magazine or something?? If you really read all her posts as well as her “about”, you see that there’s no “there” there. On the show, she announced several times that she did not work.

She’s even tried to use Ramona to spin straw into gold, by posting a pic of her along with, “Have you seen? Bravo calls Ramona Singer and I “Ra-Mina”?!?!

No, you freak. Bethenny coined “You never know who you’re going to get…Ramona or Ra-meana” and Ra-MEANa referred to Ramona’s nasty alter ego, and it wasn’t flattering. No one called you anything but a spoiled brat.

Next she’ll be claiming Bethenny created a nickname for her.

The only people I know who would wait that long is because they can’t afford anything…I can’t believe these woman.

Same with all of Joe’s sisters and brothers, and their families, my cousins, my aunts, and my mother and father-in-law… and no, we don’t always get along. Do I sometimes wish my cousin would stop with the lame jokes? Yes. Do I wish my baby sister-in-law didn’t copy everything I do down to the shoes I wear and the chairs on my front porch? Of course! But you know what they say: “You can’t pick your family.”

    Ain’t she nice? Ain’t she?

she then uses her debut blog to rehash a bunch of old DIY suggestions she’s already rehashed 100 time son twitter and youtube over the past two years! Is it too late for amNY to terminate her contract? How does cutting and pasting old stock bring fresh new of-the-moment to their readers?

    Well said, @Blue Sky-
It’s very easy for people who have been unaffected by such tragedies

“the hate blog says Bin Laden should live”

  35. neroes says:

Yes well said Blue Sky. My son is in the army. Military intelligence. He has spent 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan . We are fighting a war with people who don’t wear uniforms. Our soldiers used to hand out to children in the streets chocolate and beanie babies until the enemy started strapping bombs onto the children and blowing up the soldiers and their own children. They leave their children in a parked car so no one suspects there is a bomb and they detonate it with their own kids in it. How many Americans would do that. They want to kill us simply because we’re not Muslims. The President could have just sent a missile into the compound to take out bin laden but that would have killed the children. Sometimes in war we have to do things that are terrible (remember Hiroshima). My son says there is so much we don’t know and I trust him. Goodness I usually don’t post very much and I’m actually shaking.

neroes I am so happy you posted. God bless your son and protect him and all our soldiers over there. Please thank him for his service. Who could strap a bomb on a child? Did you see that movie Hurt Locker? So it is based of fact.

    • VAgirl says:

Neroes. Please thank your son personally for me. It’s he and his fellow military members that make me proud and able to sleep better at night. I pray for them constantly. I don’t know when it became taboo to be patriotic but its pretty sad. Nobody likes war but it’s necessary with all the evil in this world. There I go again. I just cannot help myself. LOL.

      • Queen Butter Bean says:

        God bless your son!

I’m with you – It’s a sad state of affairs when it’s not a good thing to be patriotic. But I guess I’m old school. I always say the Pledge of Allegiance with hand over heart and tear up when I sign the National Anthem. AND… I make no apologies for either.

    • kotagirl29 says:

Your son is a hero. We should all thank the men and women who risk their lives so that we may live ours. Being able to express an opinion on a blog is just one of the small freedoms that we are blessed to have because of those who serve. My thanks to him and the rest, as well as to you and all the family members who support our troops.

    • nathania says:

claims have been made that the war in Iraq has cost the lives of up to million civilians and orphaned up to five million Iraqi children. It’s pretty safe to assume that the human beings in Iraq and Afghanistan love their children just as much as the human beings in America love ours. Children are beaten and murdered every day in this country as well. I have a sister in law who has to have her arm twisted just to be a semi-decent parent both days of the week. I have not been able to get anyone to intervene because so many children are being beaten, starved, tortured, neglected, sexually abused, and otherwise mistreated in this country that what my nephews have gone through is so far ‘not bad enough’ for county and state agencies to get involved. Some of the things children go through in this country are far worse than a quick and painless death, and many would prefer it. That is a drastic example to have to make but I think it needs to be said.

To say “they want to kill us because we are not Muslims” begs a reminder that it was us that invaded two countries and not the other way around. Iraq has never been proven to have anything to do with the attacks on 9/11 and even George W. Bush himself has admitted he was wrong in ever making that assertion so people need to accept that and stop tying the two together. The war in Afghanistan is more justifiable in the sense that it is the true home of al quaida, but as Michael Moore has said, people need to remember we were attacked by not a country but a terrorist organization. If we truly believe Osama bin Laden was the mastermind and we feel truly gratified that he is dead because it bring closure and even a sense of revenge for 9/11, then what exactly did we get from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Should we have been fighting the terrorist organizations the whole time, instead of bombing countries and killing civilians? Isn’t that what we were there for, to find Osama bin Laden and take down his organization? And yet, he’s found in Pakistan?

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

But how can you fight a terrorist orginaization when their location is not known
I was against all the wars but understand what our government thought it was doing
now that they have killed him lets hope they pull out

@n, I also believe we were victimized by a/n concept, adulterated by a very distorted perspective of spritual commintment.Resulting in hate sadly……….maybe time & perspectrive will provide balance……take care.

Woa! When did Fox News hijack this blog? Good luck Mr Gorsky!

  37. Nancy says:

I’m NOT saying bin Laden didn’t deserve to die, because he did.
I’m not un-American, I’ve been here for more than 30 years and have spent much of that time saving Americans’ lives along with my American Doctor husband.
We are on the same team. I ONLY questioned the part of killing OBL right on the spot or capturing him alive. I’m not sure if America is safer now because of that choice that was made. Thats it. I LOVE Obama and I LOVE America.
My God people OFF WITH MY HEAD!

    • BlueSky_Forever says:

Nancy glad you clarified your position. You may keep your head. No one in this country would ever chop it off, unlike al queda.

    • NJ Bev says:

off with her head! off with her Head!! 🙂
C’mon Nancy, (and you too, Error!)
tell me you can’t see where we are coming from?
But, is it only you who is entitled to the opinion?

      • NJ Bev says:

my point being that it was a question left better unasked,
        on this blog__

      • Nancy says:

        NJ Bev,
All I was hoping for was a healthy debate. You decided to make it personal. I never said I was 100% right and you were 100% wrong because I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it…hence the debate. I really love living in America or I would have left it a long time ago. I thought your comments to me were down right mean and unnecessary.

        • VAgirl says:

Well, you definitely got the debate. How healthy it was is “debatable.” LOL

        • NJBev says:

          1-A healthy debate?
          2-You think I was mean?
first of all the question should never have been introduced
to the panel-this is not the place for it, this “healthy debate” belongs elsewhere- not on a IHJZ blog.

second, you trivialize the death of 46 husbands, fathers
mothers, sons and daughters who died on 9/11 within
a 10 mile radius of my home and tell me not to take it
personal. It was personal. YOU were mean. not me,
I may have been defensive, and I always will be when
someone suggests that Osama Bin Laden was killed
unnecessarily. Shame on you. Now go cry to Error
and make sure he rips me a new one ,too!

    • VAgirl says:

I still like you Nancy and Error. ((((()))))) Thanks Nancy and hubs for choosing professions that save lives.

    • lovemamaearth says:

I don’t know where the anger came from all of a sudden. Part of being patriotic is allowing others’ freedom of speech imo. And feeling safe to discuss meaningful things seems logcal here. But maybe not. And I don’t know a single person who doesn’t support the troops. As a result of the topic, a couple of us here got their news updated.

    • nathania says:

I am not even convinced he’s dead.

I mean, this is the same govt that told me that Iraq had something to do with the attacks on 9/11. A lot of people died because of that lie. It’s a different administration, but still, I mean, they say, ‘we done shot him and sunk him in the sea’, and I’m just supposed to be like ‘okeydokey’?

For all I know that is the official story to stave off any reaction from militants (good luck, lol) and they really have taken him back to CIA headquarters with the intent of torturing the hell out of him just for fun…or maybe to get whatever information that they think he might have. Who really knows.

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

enough people have seen the actual photos to know he is dead

and some of them that stated so were Republican

the reasoning behind not releasing the pics is for as little backlash as possible
        yes we got ONR terrorist
there are more of them out there

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Keeping him alive for what purpose ?
so other terrorist would strike our country until he was released because that is surely what would have happened
If nothing else his death tells others that you will be caught eventually and be forced to pay for your crimes against humanity

  38. Nancy says:

P.S. Let’s go back to “Hating” Jill.

  39. lillybee says:

In honor of the above. I hate Jill Zarin.

  40. California35 says:

Watching Survivor – any one else is?
This is s tough game/show. Body AND mind –

    • VAgirl says:

Nope. I haven’t watched that in years. I couldn’t even bring myself to watch Top Chef Masters tonight. I think they made a mistake having two top chef shows going back to back w/o a break.

      • California35 says:

        This is my second one.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

finally caught up with all teh episodes of the killing
im usually good at figuring out who teh killer is but this one has me stumped i only know it ISNT The Teacher they are making it look too much like it’s him
and i would have guessed the dad but then why would he be so intent on harming the teacher

          It cant be the mom
Speaking of which that actress looks and sounds so familiar to me
im thinking she may be the same actress that was on deadwood
          anyone know ???

    • vilzvet says:

Just finished watching it. Rob is hanging tough. Did you ever see Rob’s original Survivor or the one where he met Amber (All Stars)?

  41. Nancy says:

I’m watching American Idol and I have found a husband for our very own
KooKoo Bensimon!!!! Steven Tyler. He is wearing a feather necklace and has the exact blank stare Kelly has. A match made in heaven!

    • California35 says:

Lol – does he really? Interesting, he did drugs too didn’t he?

      • Nancy says:

He was clean & sober for about 20 years & then relapsed. He got back into recovery and has been C & S for about 2 yrs now. I like him so I best not set him up with KooKoo. Oh well…

      • Nancy says:

That’s so funny that you thought about drugs right off the bat.

    • VAgirl says:

I would have paired her with Gary Busey, but I think he’s married. Steven may be available, though, and you’re right. They would make a good couple, but I think she may be a little old for Steven. He probably goes for the younger ones. Have you watched TheVoice on NBC? It’s better than idol.

      • California35 says:

I watched last week, I don’t see last nights in my DVR 😦 there was a Good wife and Body of Proof, so it probably didn’t record.

        • VAgirl says:

Oh yes. I like Body of Proof but missed the last one. Maybe I’ll catch it on demand or something. My hubs likes The Good Wife. Three good shows all on at the same time.

          • California35 says:

            They are!!

I also watch Parenthood, the reason I didn’t watch Body of Proof’s first episode. TV junky I tell ya 😛

      • California35 says:

        Gary Busy lol.

      • Nancy says:

OMG Brilliant! Gary & Kelly!! Gary just got out of rehab himself.
Re: The Voice, I heard it is great! I’m not impressed with American Idol so I think I’ll take you up on The Voice.
Thank-you. The “kids” on AI are hurting their vocal cords by screaming instead of singing. It’s hard to hear them week after week.

        • California35 says:

In liked it, Lynn even wrote a recap of the first week 🙂
          I don’t watch Idol

        • VAgirl says:

I think you’ll like the voice. There are four coaches – Christina Aguilara, CeLo, Adam Levine (Maroon Five) and the country guy that’s engaged to Miranda Lambert (sorry, brain fart). They have each chosen 8 people each for their teams. I think now their team members go head to head against each other and the Coaches pick who wins and loses, not the public. That right there makes it better than idol in my opinion. Tuesdays at 10:00 pm.

          • vilzvet says:

Christina picked a local girl here. She is the one who sang Bleeding Love and is a former child actress who was in “Jersey Girl” with Ben Affleck.

  42. VAgirl says:

    I guess I’d better call it a night. It’s 12:52 a.m. where I am. Good night.

  43. chismosa says:

catching up on comments but can i just say i can’t believe Ryan from Flipping Out is getting a show! A$$hole! Sorry but i thought it so awful the way he was on FO to Jeff. Very Jill Zarin-like. AGHHHHH!!

    • nathania says:

is anyone willing to give the Cliff’s Notes version on what exactly it was that he did to Jeff?

It’s hard for me to feel sympathy for Jeff because he can be such a jerk but if this is the partner that screwed him over I’d love to know what exactly went down.

      • jeang says:

He evidently ran their mutual website and suposedly directed a majority of business calls for Jeff to his own office and didnt share the business opportunities with Jeff.

    • Queen Butter Bean says:

Wow – I didn’t hear that Ryan was getting his own show – not one I will watch. It was a really assholey thing he did to Jeff – so sneaky and underhanded.

  44. jeang says:

Honestly I think the only partners for Krazy, Sonja and Lumann would be the type you see hanging around a field reporter, trying to look like they just happened to be standing there (and not moving) and occasionally looking at the camera out of the corner of their eye.

  45. aintinice says:

Does anyone here know where I may purchase a I Hate Jill Zarin T-Shirt?

    • Nancy says:

Ask Bethenny as I’m sure she’ll know or she’ll give you one of hers. ha ha

      • aintinice says:

I wasn’t trying to be funny, I am very serious, I want to buy one.

      • jeang says:

I actually do not think Betheny ever hated Jill but was hurt and is now so over her she doesnt exist. She missed out on that business opportunity cause she could have made major bucks with IHJZ t shirts or bumper stickers.

  46. lillybee says:

I am so hating this season of Top Chef Masters. The challenges are so gimmickery.
Let the masters cook their food in a real kitchen most of the time.

  47. HD says:

OMG! I went to the Barnes and Noble website just to make sure Vicki didn’t cancel or anything so I can finalize my plans for tomorrow and you guys will never believe, she was there Wednesday NOT Thursday!!! I can’t freaking believe it! Operation meet Vicki aborted! I am so frustrated. I made plans and everything! They are having the Derby parade here tomorrow and I told my daughter after the parade to go home with her friend because I would be meeting Vicki. This totally SUCKS! Not that I just love, love, love Vicki but when a housewife is that close you gotta go. 😦 FML! Oh well maybe next Derby. That’s the only time anyone with fame from a little to a lot come to this city. Eye rollage!

    • butterisafruit says:

I’m sorry HD that IS disapointing. I wonder if something is off kilter. Because she tweeted that she was at OHare and was heading for the Derby.

What is her book about? How to sell insurance? I hadn’t known she wrote one…there are so many interesting books coming out that I don’t think I would spring for hers…(Shania Twain, Barbara Eden, Steven Tyler…)

    • VAgirl says:

Oh, no! I can’t believe that happened! And all your planning, too.
