I Hate Jill Zarin The Real Housewives of Orange County by LynnNChicago
I am so disappointed in this season of Orange County, I can’t even hate any of them because I don’t care enough about any of them.
Tonight Tamra meets with Lynne Curtain just long enough for us to hear that Lynne is keeping her husband busy, “Bless his heart”. They are doing great, Tamra doesn’t ask Lynne about her teenage delinquents who were filmed dancing topless with Hello Kitty pasties on their nipples. Lynne and Frank continue to be blissfully unaware that their children are headed for disaster. Lynne tells Tamra that Fernanda was upset and told her about the kiss between Tamra and Fernanda last year on Tamra’s birthday. This storyline is so exhausting it just gives you a headache.
My theory, when Tamra kissed Fernanda in the bathroom at her birthday party, Bravo/producers thought that this woman would make a great 6th housewife. Damn that Tamra for going and finding a man to love and dump Fernanda. Later in the episode the two ladies meet over drinks and their NOH8 photos and all is well again.
The more I see this Peggy woman, the less I like her and we’re really running low on like for this one. Her one episode on postpartum depression did make me feel for her a bit but she seems to have found a cure for it, slamming other people, judging other people and drinking huge amounts of wine while backstabbing your friends seems to have done the trick. Peggy spent a lot of time with the two mean girls, Vicki and Tamra and suddenly Peggy is one of them. She’s ready to throw her friend of 6-years under the bus.
I have no love for Alexis but Peggy was her friend. Best we can tell it was Alexis who got Peggy onto the show, the first thing Peggy did was stab Alexis in the back. The one thing I will give Alexis is that she doesn’t attack the other ladies the way they go after her.
Peggy tells us that she and her husband used to double date with Alexis and Jim Bellino but that things have changed and recently Jim has been making snide comments to Peggy’s husband Micha. I know my husband and his best friend argued just the other week about who knows more about Lamborghini’s, I think it really is a deal breaker. Peggy is the Jill Zarin of the OC, she slams below the belt. Her talking head interview says, “As long as I’ve known them, Jim’s never really had a real job”. Yet to Alexis’ face Peggy says, “Jim’s always been able to set his own schedule”. Love Jim or hate him he has to be making some money some how, Peggy’s husband’s job seems just as dicey as Jim’s. Peggy’s point was that Jim should have been at her dinner party. Did you really miss him Pegs? Does he add that much to the conversation? Did it screw up your seating arrangement? In one breath Pegs tells us that big bad Jim was mean to her husband then she complains that he skipped her dinner party.
Alexis confesses that she lied, Jim wasn’t busy with work he simply doesn’t want to be around these women. Peggy passes along that information to Tamra and Vicki. Peggy criticizes Alexis for lying about the whole thing but wasn’t Alexis lying to avoid hurting people’s feelings? Not that anyone really cares what Jim Bellino thinks but come on, it wasn’t a lie anyone really cares about except Alexis and Jim.
Alexis apparently feels that her new dress line is complete and she decided to be photographed wearing each of them for what I can only assume are ads for the dresses. I’ve never seen a dress designer wear her own clothing but I’m sure Alexis knows what she’s doing, bless her heart. When her husband Jim arrives to “help” with the shoot things go from bad to worse. I don’t know where he gets his education and experience in photography/modeling but he decides to begin to direct the shoot and only serves to annoy the hell out of everyone. Alexis tells us that he’s funding the entire project (no kidding) but regardless of who’s paying the bills, the bible tells Alexis that she must obey her husband so when he tells her to stick her ass out for the photos, she has to do as she’s told. I am pretty sure that’s what the bible author’s had in mind, don’t you?
In the nothing new department, Vicki treats Donn like garbage, he tells her he’s happy she is home and cooking in the kitchen, she ignores him and tells him she’s going out and that they won’t be eating for a long time. She then tells the audience (rather than telling her husband) that she’s angry with him because he drank too much at Peggy’s party and acted like an ass. It was actually Vicki who acted like an ass but that is who she is. Her cackling with Tamra, slamming her husband and blaming him for not having any children was typical Vicki bad behavior.
I have to thank Slade’s mom for popping in for a visit, she was able to say everything that we’ve all wanted to say to him for months. She asked about his job beyond carrying Gretchen’s luggage and he told us that he’s a consultant and that his last job just ended two weeks ago. They say mom can always tell when you’re lying, Slade’s mom is no different. She pushes Slade and suggests some other jobs that he might be good at, of course he immediately dismisses her suggestions. Slade tells us that he made his first fortune in the mortgage/title business and Mom says that the industry is coming back. For every mortgage lost, there are plenty of people refinancing or doing short sales, both of which need mortgage closers/title officers to handle the deal. Slade continues to insist he can’t go back into that business leading me to believe that there is more to it than just a declining market.
Slade and Gretchen travel to San Antonio Texas so that she can appear on a talk show to sell her handbags and make up line. I have to give her credit for attempting to go and get what she wants, she does seem to be working hard to try to make this work. That said, she seems to be stuck in a dead end relationship, I know she claims to love Slade Smiley but she wants children yet doesn’t want to marry him, that says it all doesn’t it? If you truly love the guy and want to have kids there would be no hesitation.
I’m trying very hard to like any of these women but it’s really difficult, when they’re so vicious and mean, Tamra is just low class trash and Vicki only wants what Tamra has right now and thinks that by leaving Donn, she’ll have a hot latin lover too. Peggy and Alexis are really complete idiots and can battle over who has more money, better educated children and more loving husbands but in the end, who cares? Only the two of them. Gretchen seems to be distancing herself from the down and dirty feuds but then we come to find out we don’t care about what she’s up to. This show has really gone downhill.
The Celebrity Apprentice by Quincy
There were 3 hours with two challenges.
Lil John gave his check to the United Methodist’s Children’s Fund manager for $80,000.
In the first five minutes, we are shown the confrontation between Nene and Star from the previous episode and are shown their interaction in the board room which resulted in the firing of Hope. We watch Nene and Star leave the board room together. Nene wants to discuss what has happened with Star, but Star slips into the elevator alone and leaves. Nene shares with the remaining cast members.
The next day, Mr. Trump addresses the group then he talks to Nene about the dispute that she had with Star Jones. Because he feels that Nene and Star are unable to work together, he place Nene on Backbone with LaToya, Lil John and John Rich. Meat Loaf went to ASAP with Marlee and Star.
In an interview, Star tells us that she was not concerned about going to Nene’s level, but was afraid that Nene would take her to Nene’s level. (Last week Star stated that this was not “The Real Housewives.”)
The teams will create a campaign for a new product from On Star. For the first time an add-on unit will be available in Best Buy. They will create a live comedy show with an audience and each team will select 3 comedians. They will sell 50 tickets for as much money as they can raise. Jim Cramer, a television stock market analyst and close friend of Mr. Trump, will judge the contest.
The original men’s team meets the next day and they begin to make calls. La Toya is having problems reaching people. John Rich is very successful. After a while they discover that Nene is missing and they discuss this throughout the day. John Rich wants to make a song and they agree. He calls Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy will help. After hours, Nene texts La Toya to tell her that she was not coming back. The team is frustrated.
The women’s team ask Tracy Morgan to make a video to help them and they will film at 30 Rock. Tracy made fun of Star on Sat. Night Live and she was a good sport so he wants to do this for her. Jim Cramer feels that a video is not good enough. He would have asked Morgan to come to the show. Star creates the video. She and Meatloaf have issues.
Nene is observed in a cab leaving. Mr. Trump talks to her on the phone and warns her that others who quit were called names. Nene leaves and feels that she was treated unfairly. Nene tells Mr. Trump that you accommodated Star Jones. Mr. Trump says, “Nene you are fired.”
The teams select the comedians after watching them perform. Star does not laugh or smile.
The teams call their friends who have already donated great sums of money. Kathy Hilton gives La Toya another check for $1,000 and La Toya does not push for more.
On the original women’s team, Meat Loaf is working for Paint the Turtle Charity so he calls backers he knows from that charity to help. He becomes emotional fearing that he is gambling with money from the charity. Star calls Mr. Trump and asks if they can have a guarantee that Painted Turtle will receive the money that Meat Loaf raised. Mr. Trump said the rules are that the money goes to the winner and he wants them to work hard and win.
La Toya and Meat Loaf act as Masters of Ceremony for their teams. Jimmy Fallon tells jokes and gives $10,000 to the men’s team coffers.
In the board room, Meat Loaf is very upset and near tears. John Rich will pay Meat Loaf charity whatever Meat Loaf raised because they are friends. Meat Loaf thanks Mr. Trump for the opportunity and says that it made him a better person. La Toya raised: $82,500. Meat Loaf raised $102,080. Meat loaf’s charity will receive $184,580.
La Toya’s team stays in the board room. She says the men did well. Lil John says she was the project manager and she failed to raise money so she should be fired. Mr. Trump fires La Toya for the second time.
The Celebrity Apprentice
(Second challenge of the evening)
The next challenge was to promote a new product for On Star. A unit is available at best buy to add on the security of On Star to your vehicle for the first time. Before this it was only available in new cars. They will strive for creativity/originality, product integration, and brand messaging. On Star was created in 1995.
John Rich and Marlee Matelin will again compete as project managers.
The teams will create a video. They will write, film and edit
The men begin to create a script. John Rich is sick with what he thinks is a sinus infection. Lil John feels that the burden is on him to win this challenge.
The studio has a white screened background and a crew with experienced cameramen. Marlee’s team will have a police help Marlee find her car after Star who portrays a representative of On Star locates it and then they all go to a donut shop. Marlee, whose husband is a police officer, likes the idea of that an officer helps her get her stolen car back
The men’s video will feature Lil John and two other women. Lil John’s rap format will be the form of the message.
The executives of On Star like the videos, but have concerns. On Star looks at policemen as heroes and the executive of the company hate the donut shop idea. They feel that Lil John is too enthusiastic and a woman in a vehicle did not have her seat belt on so they can’t use the commercial as they stand for safety.
In the board room the men don’t like the video of the women’s team. The women like the video of the men’s team. John Rich and Lil John leave after they are told that they won the challenge and received $40,000 dollars for John Rich’s charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The total for this charity at this point was $690,000.
Star, Meat loaf and Marlee remain. They discuss their assigned tasks and then leave. While out of the room Meat Loaf becomes upset with Star and he shouts. The actual product was filmed, but edited out of their video. They blame each other for the mistake. They return to the board room. Mr. Trump asks what the fight was over when they return and Meat loaf accuses Star of lying. Mr. Trump asks who was in charge of branding and the answer was Star, so he fires Star.

Karen and Renee are bonding in a bar when a drunken Irish man begins to ask sexual questions of Karen. She ignores him, but Karen comments and he tells her that she needs to lose 30 lbs. Renee and the drunk have a verbal fight and she warns him that he doesn’t know who she is. She calls Junior, her ex-husband, on the phone and says that this man is disrespecting her.
Karen warns Renee that Junior is on bail and he could get in trouble if they call the cops so they both go to the parking lot to fret until Junior arrives in the large white car. He is angry and Renee reminds him that he is on bail. He speaks to the drunk. We don’t know what he says, but the drunk apologizes right away to Renee. Renee is happy because she thinks Junior still loves her. Karen is impressed that Renee could call Junior and he came right away.
