IHJZ Top Chef Masters May 11, 2011

Top Chef Masters by Quincy IL

I’m with the Band

The numbers are dwindling and we have 7 chefs competing tonight for their charities. There will be two competitions a quick fire challenge and after dividing into two teams, they will create a feast fit for a rock star.

The Chefs are in their kitchen for the quick fire challenge and they feel comfortable in that environment when Curtis Stone surprises them with a 7 minute time limit.  We are told that it takes 2 minutes to heat a pan. The chefs will prepare two dishes per person.  The prize is $5,000 for their charity and immunity.

Hugh is featured in many of the interviews as he has a quick wit and is self-deprecating.  He also has one eyebrow which he pointed out. Many of the chefs decide to make foie gras because that can be properly cooked in 5 minutes. The other dishes include caviars, scallops, apples, and tuna.  Hugh describes his dish as cat food. Several people drizzle blood orange juice.

Curtis returns with another surprise.  The Chefs will judge each other’s dishes.  Traci does not like this as it creates animosity within the group.  First they taste the dishes.  The comments are bitter, too salty, not enough salt, and perfect.

The Chefs are given 1 through 7 on cards which they hold up as their dishes are discussed.  Hugh rates his dish the lowest and he stands by the decision with humor.

The final ratings were:

7  Selena

6 Hugh

5 Floyd

4 Mary Sue

3 Alex

2 Naomi

1 Traci

The Feast/Elimination Challenge

Since Traci won the Quick Fire, she picks the members of her team.  She takes four chefs which may be an issue later. They wear black aprons.  Traci picked: Hugh, Naomi and Mary Sue.

The remaining chefs will wear red aprons and they are Floyd, Alex, and Selena.  The leader eventually will be Alex.

Meet the Rock Stars: Maroon  5

The Chefs tell us that they have experience cooking for celebrities.  They will travel to the Roosevelt Hotel in LA (Hollywood) to create a feast for the rock stars that have traveled extensively and eaten in fine restaurants all over the planet Earth. The chefs will create a family meal, but the requests by the rock stars are all over the map.  Some of the requests are Japanese steak, corn, vegetarian, and a Thanksgiving feast.  The prize is $10,000 for the winner.  One chef will be sent home also.

There will be an issue of time management so the chefs have to make their shopping lists on the way to Whole Foods, shop quickly, prepare the food in travel buses moving on the expressway with drivers from a senior citizen home and moving traffic that people trapped on the street in downtown New York City would envy.

During the menu planning, Traci wonders if she makes the correct choices when it came to selecting her team.  They two teams shop quickly in Whole Foods, but the red team leaves  long before the black team.  The cooking space is limited and the chefs have to deal with the moving vehicle which sometimes seem like a scrambler ride from an amusement park.

The black team complains about the lack of space.  One chef wishes she could make the salad on the floor, but does not.  The red team uses the toilet to sear steak.  (I would send Floyd home for that.)

Alex of the red team states that he has 30 years of experience so she makes 4 dishes.  Selena has been in the bottom in the Quick Challenge and she has concerns.  When they are ready to serve, it is Alex who has ruined the pasta by starting it too soon.  It looks awful and tastes bad.

The red team is happy with their dishes.

The Dining Room

The Roosevelt Hotel Dining Room looks like King Arthur’s dining hall.  There is a long table and high back chairs.  The three judges Curtis, Stone, Ruth Reichel and James Oreland are on one side.  Gail Simmons is also at the table.  The Maroon 5 come in and sit on the other side.  These young men have a great sense of humor and seem up for the task of eating the fabulous dishes.

The menus of the teams are amazingly similar.  Both have corn soup and steak.  Both include the foods of Thanksgiving.  The black team has a Spanish edge with chips, guacamole and margaritas. Spanokopita was requested by a rock star because his mother makes that dish so both teams complied.  They black team serves last, but when the margaritas arrive, the party begins.

The judges are critical and the rock stars also have likes and dislikes.  One says that he was surprised that the food was so much like his mom’s.   There are agreements and disagreements when judging the good.  James Oreland states that the roof of his mouth was damaged by a corn crust.  He thinks the tapioca was undercooked.  One of the rock stars loves the tapioca.  Everyone loves the gravy which a rock star points out covered and ordinary piece of meat.

At the end of the judging, the rock stars give thumbs up and tell us that they would hate to hate to have their performance ripped apart on television.

The black team wins and Traci’s charity will receive $10,000.

The red team will have a member eliminated and there is much discussion. Alex’s pasta was awful. Floyd’s salad was too simple. Selena has problems with flavor.  At the last moment, Alex is told to pack his knives and leave.  The other chefs hug him and wish him well.  He knew that his offerings had problems and this was for charity so he was glad that he participated.

From Wikipedia:

Maroon 5 is an American pop rock[1] band from Los Angeles, California. While they were in high school, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Levine, keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, bass guitarist Mickey Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick formed a garage band called Kara’s Flowers and released one album in 1997. After a brief period they reformed with guitarist James Valentine, and pursued a new direction as Maroon 5. The following year they released their debut album Songs About Jane, which contained four hit singles: “Harder to Breathe“, “This Love“, “She Will Be Loved” and “Sunday Morning“; it also enjoyed major chart success, going gold, platinum, and triple platinum in many countries around the world.[2]

  1. Christine says:

    Good morning friends,
OT but I caught the last 2 minutes of AC360 last night and he was on a tear about the ousewives’ recordings. He started with Michaele Salahi’s “Bump It” which he described
as sounding like a combination of Darth Vader and a character on “V” due to autotuning. He then went on to Kim Z and “Tardy for the Party”. He admitted that he likes Kim but didn’t get the song. Next he mocked the “Countess’ ” “Money Can’t Buy You Class.” he first laughed at the Countess title then went on to say that someone who uses the word “class” and isn’t referring to a room full of school children has no class. As the son of Gloria Vanderbilt (now there’s a real old-money and distinguished family, Luann and Sonja), he would have been exposed to some real class and elegance.
Finally he gave his opinion of Simon’s single and said that it also didn’t make any sense.
He said that he couldn’t believe that anyone could throw up a song, and he clarified that meant “throw up” as in vomited, and think that through auto-tune and digitalization believe they were singers.
    LMAO, I love AC.

      • HD says:

Yes, he made fun of Danielle too and showed a clip of her. I loved it!

        • HD says:

I commented about this on the last blog-He said all of those housewives songs, including Simon’s would be on a soundtrack they played in Hades. LOL!

          • Dawn says:

I like Anderson Cooper but to imply that because a family of origin had money that they also possess class is a fallacy. The Vanderbilt family were robber barons. Money, in any form, doesn’t automatically translate into class.

            • error404 says:

What? A house the size of a city all decorated with gold plated cupids frolicking above a fireplace stolen from a european monastery isn the definition of “class”? I’m shocked! LOL

            • Christine says:

I didn’t mean to imply anything about the Vanderbilts themselves. I said that he was exposed to those attributes . I think that most monied people did not attain it the old fashioned was, by earning it. There was and is plenty of scandalous and criminal behavior to go around for most of them. Vanderbilts, Whitneys, Morgans, etc. are not without sin. After having read “Little Gloria, Happy At Last, I do believe that she has conducted much of her life with a degree of dignity despite her horrible childhood.

            • nathania says:

It really almost never does, actually.

    • error404 says:

someone on FB just suggest Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen hook up. I threw up in my mouth a little.

      • NAmerican says:

Anderson Cooper has a HOT Boyfriend, saw them at a gas station on Long Island (AC has a house in West Hampton) and once at JFK. Andy Cohen is not in the same league as Anderson Cooper!

        • Rabble Rouser says:

          AC is a silver FOX.

          • 2Stupid says:

He and Andy and Kelly Rippa are very good friends though. He has been on WWHL 2 times. He knows all thing housewives thanks to his friend Andy Cohen.

        • DJ Loops Fruit says:

Andy is a Executive at a network
Anderson is Talent at a network
try and guess which is making the most money LOL

they have been great friends for ages
it has nothing to do with whos in whos league
they are sisters they could never hook up

      • DJ Loops Fruit says:

all i can say regarding THAT too many outlets not enough plugs LOL

  2. quincyil says:

I read some of the comments on the lawsuit. I bet Jason understand this kind of thing and is a comfort to Bethenny.

Patti Stanger is so vile. I hope that we have a discussion before the next season of “The Millionaire Matchmaker” and we all agree that this blog not include her show. She has been so mean to so many people that I really don’t want to acknowledge that she is on TV.

    • HD says:

Didn’t you or Lynn blog this show before or no?

      • quincyil says:

I wrote the blog. It was at 9pm on Tues.

We have been including all Bravo shows and a few off Bravo that Lynn likes. This summer we will do HGTV shows that have been mentioned on the board.

    • error404 says:

IIRC MM wasn’t on Bravo’s “returning shows” press release. But it did include as a new show something that sounded just like it, with someone else.

      • lovemamaearth says:

I didn’t like Patti and then when she paired up with Jill and got all jillous about B, it put it over the top.

And when that one gal on MM gave Patti a serious critiquing, I cheered that she got a little of her own medicine. And her clothing choices for men aren’t all that great imo.

So a new someone might make the show topic enjoyable.

    • LynnNChicago says:

I agree 100% I never really liked Stanger but after her comments about Bethenny were recorded and posted on You-Tube with her vile language – I dispise that woman even more.

But then she appeared on WWHL and was asked why she hates Bethenny and she back-peddled and lied about what she’d said. She’s full of crap!

    • katlg says:

      Lawsuit, what did I miss?????

    • Cusi77 says:

Quincy I hold you in high regard for Blogging MM last Season! I can’t stomach Patty S!

I agree with not including Millionaire Matchmaker EVER!

      To Lisa Jones:

Give my best to Susan Saunders!

      • Okie Folkie says:

I was looking forward to watching the reruns of S3 RHNYC today, as that was what Bravo had scheduled until yesterday. And Bravo changed their line up with that gawd awful woman.

I hope she goes far far away. But, it looks as though Bravo really doesnt want anyone to watch their channel during the day, ’cause they have her on next Tuesday as well. EEEWWW
        Go AWAY, Ms Skanky!

    • nathania says:

I agree just because it is so formulaic it almost seems scripted. it’s either a sex-addicted male in hollywood who can’t keep it in his pants or a middle aged woman in denial that she’s not 22 looking to buy a man who wants to be kept because she can’t give up control. I have seen exactly one show where the couple had chemistry.

I find it entertaining to watch, I won’t lie, but it’s not worth blogging about. You could submit the same blog over and over like Danielle Staub did at the end of RHONJ and it wouldn’t be wrong.

    • DJ Loops Fruit says:

it doesnt need a discussion really
I stopped watching the second she trash talked betenny

  3. HD says:

Lynn, I absolutely love when you blog but this is yet another Bravo show that has lost me and I typically love Top Chef. Something about this season is not cutting it for me. (Maybe it’s me and I’m a foodie.)

I think Bravo kind of jumped the shark with the success of so many HW brands and Bethanny show(s) and Top Chef and then they just started making stupid shows like the Pregnant Show and now this horrible season of Top Chef Masters. Now they have some singing show coming up and goodness knows what else. Is Bravo losing it’s touch? I don’t know. Sometimes too much of a good thing can turn into a bad thing. I am in Bravo overload so I stick to the shows that we really tend to comment on a lot, a lot which of course are the Housewives. (This is only my opinion, I am well aware people watch these shows, etc.)

    • LynnNChicago says:

I know what you mean, I just can’t get into this. Maybe the chef’s are all just too nice to each other??? 🙂 Lets talk Housewives instead LOL

      • quincyil says:

I had never watch Top Chef Masters before last night, but I like the people on the show. I am not a foodie. I also had never heard of Maroon 5, but they were nice young men.

      • YouKnowWhoThisIs says:

I been wanting to say this to you for so long. What about Bethenny’s vile comments to people.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

I think with this TC Master’s- it’s hard to dig because I never heard of the Chef’s before. Are any of the competitors this season Michelin star chefs?

    • Tara F says:

I totally agree! I usually LOVE this show… I think it’s the combination of playing for charity and lack of Tom Collichio. The playing for charity lowers the stakes of the competition. When chefs are eliminated, it’s no biggie. And without Tom, there’s not an element of snark.

    • It feels like Bravo has been giving out Starbucks gift cards to everyone on their payrool who submits show ideas. And they’re producing EVERY frigging idea, throws ’em on the wall and sees which one sticks. Waiting for the show about a little person housewife who bakes cakes in Beverly Hills while raising sextuplets with her sister wives and wants to hire a maternity concierge for the birth of her next child while her first recorded “hit” plays in the background.

      • nathania says:

        it really does, doesn’t it.

they are so out of touch so they have no inner instinct for what might appeal to anyone. Cohen himself is way too drunk to have good judgement about anything, he proved that by publicly lusting after the goat killer the other day on WWHL.

  4. NYCer says:

    RHONY news from Page Six:

“Real Housewives of New York” single mother Cindy Barshop’s ex-fiancé, Kevin Downs, says her claims on the show that she always planned to raise their twins, Jesse and Zoe, alone are “just fiction.” The spa owner, who wears the single mom and sole breadwinner badge proudly on the Bravo show, had claimed: “I’ve had serious relationships, but I wasn’t in one when I had my girls.” But Downs told us they were living together at the time and split five months after the twins were born. He claimed they tried five cycles of in vitro fertilization before they settled on an egg donor. “Cindy has old eggs. I don’t know what else to say,” Downs fired back. Barshop’s rep had no comment about the eggs. The couple got engaged in 2006 and split in 2009. “It’s just fiction that she raised them alone,” Downs said. “The truth is she is not a single woman who had these kids on her own.” Downs, who also has children from a previous marriage, added, “I’ve been trying to work out a schedule with her to be with the girls.” Barshop’s rep added: “He’s there for his kids as best as he can be.”

    • chismosa says:

love, thanks so much. was wondering where they got those great blue eyes from (i know i know it’s possible). old eggs. so funny- mean but maybe she deserved it.

I also second the motion to not include Patty Stinker’s show on the blog. She is obnoxious

    • quincyil says:

If those are donor eggs and his sperm, I think he is genetically related to the children and she is not.

Your eggs do get old. I think mine have fossilized.

      • chismosa says:

thats true i was wondering why he wants ‘visitation’ – or whatever was said. So weird… twisted storyline there. Her veneers are so ugly. Well maybe Dandy will bring this up today at WWH? Slack Jaw may have something to say…

    • error404 says:

She’s been lying thru her veneered teeth all season long, so this is no surprise!

Who stays engaged for over 3 years, goes out of their way to have kids before they marry, and then splits right after the kids are born? These two both sound like losers. And that’s the sanctimonious judgmental truth! :pfffttttthhhhhh

      • nathania says:

wow, that’s quite a bit different than she represented it.

yes my sister’s eggs were kaput at 40. she has the same situation, donor eggs in vitro with her husband at the time’s sperm. their child was born with congenital problems and the marriage did not survive and now they are divorced. which is how my sister represents it, she is not claiming that her daughter was fathered by ‘random sperm’

        how weird.

these people do not get the whole concept of being filmed, apparently.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

So they are the exfiance’s daughters? Cindy made is sound like he abandoned her during the process….she is really a nasty piece of work.

      • Christine says:

Is there any one of them that does not lie – they are all despicable people.

      • Rabble Rouser says:

She also made it sound it was random sperm that was used and not random eggs.

        • Lavalady says:

I agree, RR. Cindy made it seem as if the babies were conceived with her eggs and an annonymous sperm donor. And she had no idea who the father was and didn’t care anyway, she was raising them herself.

        • WindyCityWondering says:

exactly – we were left with the “impression” that they were her eggs and her exfiance abandoned her in her quest for children!

  5. boston02127 says:

    Kelly’s tweet~~
    Its thursday, thursday… watch #rhony, and I’ll be on #wwhl. Clubhouse!!! Woohoo @BravoAndy @Bravotv @BravoPR

(that should be headaching to watch)

    • chismosa says:

i wonder what she’ll drink or IF she’ll drink.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

I don’t remember if Kelly has ever been on WWHL – maybe I blocked it out? Not really looking forward to seeing the liar and the loon.

      • Cusi77 says:

Windy_ I recall she was there once and a caller asked her if she had her “ginny” made in LA… Andy asked to be more careful with the callers!

  6. boston02127 says:

Another one of Kelly’s tweets, I’m not even sure where to go with this. If you’re on twitter check out @amny. It’s in another language.

    Her tweet~~
Who saw todays article I wrote in @amny? The #jcrew pearl cluster bracelet is so hot. #kkbstyle

    • HD says:

I don’t see what is wrong with this post Boston. I mean with gas being $4.15 cent a gallon now aren’t we all lining up to get Jcrew Pearl Cluster bracelets? Sheesh.

      • boston02127 says:

HD–Lol, did you go to @amny on twitter?

        • HD says:

I don’t have Twitter. I thought amny was a magazine or something that she wrote an article in.

      • VAgirl says:

I’ve been looking for one of those! Thanks Kelly

      • chismosa says:

jcrew makes beautiful jewelry but sometimes very $$$
        save it for the gas

        • boston02127 says:

This is where she said she wrote the artical.

          • HD says:

            What is wrong with her?

            • boston02127 says:

That’s what I was laughing about, I’m not sure but I think it’s Chinese. Kelly can hardly speak English never mind write in Chinese.

          • error404 says:

here’s the online mag she “writes” (read: copy&paste) for: http://www.amny.com/

no new article ny KKK up yet, maybe later today.

she is the gift that keeps giving though! Yeah, jcrew is so hot hip and happening NYC style, that got we have a “noted taste maker” like Kiki to tell us these things, as no average teen in a typical mall in middle america would ever know that jcrew had nice bracelets for cheap! She’s so giving, out Kiki

            • HD says:

Okay…I am not into home decorating but Kelly says on this page…

“These floors are black before I painted them white because I wanted them to be clean. That’s an easy trick-paint your floors”

Okay…does changing the color of your floor make them clean or does sweeping and mopping them make them clean? I’m confused.

              • WindyCityWondering says:

of course it does – black floors look dirty and white floors look clean and if you are a moron and paint over beautiful hardwood floors you have Kelly style! lol

              • error404 says:

black hides dirt, so she probably washed it less. White shows dirt after like 5 minutes, so she’s probably washing that damn floor every single day of her life. So yeah, it probably is cleaner. LOL

  7. VAgirl says:

Can’t watch TCM, but thanks for the recap Lynn. BTW Adam Levine (Maroon Five) is one of the judges on The Voice. I’m liking that show so far (better than Idol IMO).

As for the Bethenny issue. texaschick had a really informative post on yesterday’s blog about contract law.

    • LynnNChicago says:

Mornin VAgirl! That was Quincy who recapped TCM for us. I have been watching Adam Levine too on The Voice, I like him, he’s got a great personality. I perfer the Voice to AI, for some reason the talent even seems better.

      • VAgirl says:

Sorry, Q and thanks for all you do.
Lynn, some of the singers on The Voice definitely have some professional experience and are using this show to hit the big time (Frenchie). Some of the others are very young with little experience (the one who sang Leather and Lace). I, too, think they are more talented than the contestants on AI.

        • chismosa says:

i dont watch singing shows at all- but i never get where all these contestants come from? Why are they not on Idol? It’s been on for YEARS– or there is America’s Got Talent for older people than the age limit… ? It’s like there is constant talent coming from everwhere

          • error404 says:

            Talent? Like Sanjaya? LOL

The Jennifer Hudsons are the exception, not the rule, and even then the show still managed to eff it up, so….

            • MAMAZ says:

Amber Reilly auditioned for AI and didn’t even make it to the judges.
She now plays Mercedes on Glee.

Jennifer Hudson was the most talented person to ever appear on AI. And she got no respect. But she went on to win an Oscar.

American Idol isn’t really about finding talent. Like all TV shows it’s about ratings. They bait you in with the bad/comical auditions and the heartwarming stories. You stick around to see which of the hard luck cases makes it to finals. By the time voting rolls around you are hooked.

              • NJ Bev says:

I heard that the reason Jennifer
Hudson was voted off was because
her hometown city and a huge
portion of of the surrounding areas
                had a blackout-so her “core”
voters were never able to get
                through the lines to vote…….

  8. chismosa says:

does anyone know if you can view this blog well on a blackberry? i just got a new one with data on it (was not using data for some time to save $$)
i want to keep on top of comments

  9. chismosa says:

just re-reading the Post item on Cindy- 5 in vitros- that is 100,000$ – so like 5 years ago or so she got engaged- she must have been early 40s or late 30’s at that time when she started invitro? i feel bad for her but i still don’t really care for her at all. i’m usually gut-instinct about people.

  10. boston02127 says:

    Have a good day everyone.
Last exam at 1:15 today. Then I’m free!!!! (till June)

  11. I don’t know if this has already been posted but Simon is annoyed at Jill again.

    From Twitter:

SimonvanKempen: @JillZarin either u were missquoted or u r lying again http://bit.ly/JillLiesAgain I didn’t lose my job and really wonder why u make shit up

This is from the article that Simon is referring to:

Zarin also talked about the pitfalls of being thrust into the spotlight. “Alex McCord’s husband, Simon, lost his job because of the show.” Of course, Zarin said that the season will start to heat up and encouraged the audience to keep watching.

    • Cusi77 says:

So… the Love Fest is already finished?

    • quincyil says:

After watching the video and seeing that the hotel owners are Simon’s clients, I doubt that he lost his job because of the show. I think it was a contributing factor in his decision to leave after 11 years because every thing that happens to us affects our decisions. I think Simon sees the potential for making more money in consulting. Alex and Simon see how well the other wives have done by taking chances too.

If Alex having that conversation and saying to Jill that Jill tried to hurt her husband job meant that Jill hit the jackpot and got him fired. Shame on Jill Zarin. People have to have money for their famlies and she is evil to use her abilty to strike out in the press and on TV to cause harm to a cast mate or to any person.

      And Jill calls us, “Haters.”

      • I'm in Florida says:

Excellent Quincy, You always hit that red-headed nail on the head! Haters indeed.

        Great Blogs, BTW.

        • quincyil says:

Hi, I love Florida. We have flowers again on the prairie so I am in heaven. Dandelions are no problem here. The horses love the yellow flowers.

    • HD says:

You know I don’t feel for Simon. He is so desperate to be liked by her they just take the scraps she drops for the table. When someone shows you who they are, believe them. Simon knows how Jill is so there is no point in trying to be mad now. They should have just left her alone.

      • chismosa says:

i agree HD that he shouldnt try so hard to have her like him & Alex/ or like her back. But maybe essentially, deep down Simon is such a kind-hearted soul he wants to see the good in people? I’m not like that- unfortunately i do come from a place of not-yes most of the time. My brother is a place-of-yes and so are most people close to me.
I think that hopefully now- with RHNY really at it’s start of declining (I hope) – S & Alex find something else to do. I love them and hope they find great opportunities either with Bravo or another network / media field where they will remain in the public eye
Jill is vicious and disgusting and we see e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g no matter how she acts on camera

      • WindyCityWondering says:

Don’t understand why Simon wants to be friends with Jill for any reason! She can say she is making amends or wants a truce but she is just buying time for her next attack! So Silex have morals and integrity but their stupid is showing when they deal with a shark like Zarin.

        • chismosa says:

i agree ^^ and as a generally pessimistic person, i am angry at him for being so stupid. However i think it may be a case of him being too good a soul. He needs to drop her. I hope this is the end of it for him and the NY housewife monster.

        • error404 says:

I don’t think for second they have any interest in being her friend. They just want it to STOP! Stupid bitch can’t even give a simple interview without bashing them for no reason. I’ve never been stalked by a lunatic, knock wood, but I would imagine it’s really aggravating.

          • quincyil says:

Jill is a yenta. Just like the conversatin with friends at the wedding, she was sharing her true inner thought at the Jewish event and got recorded again.

She said mean things in the Highland Park event. Someone I know spoke to a woman who attended when Jill was in Chicago last winter.

All of the PR people in the world can’t save Humpty Jill.

      • error404 says:

In general I kinda agree: why appoint yourself official caller of JZ’s shit? Get a real hobby.

But in this one example, I feel it’s damned if he does, damned is he doesn’t. I must be really frustrating to have a bitch like Jill bad mouth you in the press every 5 minutes for no reason at all. Who cares if she doesn’t like him. She’s a f-ing bitch who spends all day every day making her enemies’ lives a misery. JILL: GET A HOBBY!!!

      • Amber...Real Wife says:

If the devil keeps knocking at the door wearing different disguises and soft words, some will eventually open the door. Foolish? Absoeffinlutely! But, kindhearted people often are. Jill is like the SNL Landshark knocking on the door saying “Candygram!” only to then swallow the person whole or chew em up and discard the rest.

        • chismosa says:

Amber you SAID it. That shark candygram skit was before my time but i remember seeing in on clips. that is exactly what she is

🙂 I’ve got an old sole. My shoes that is! LOL

I still love SNL. I have NETFLIX so I’m able to watch the BestOf/Seasons instantly. I loved the Farley/Sandler/Rock &
Ferrel/Cattan/Fallon/Morgan eras. I think TinaFey was the best writer.

                • chismosa says:

i own most of those- especially Phil Hartman and be sure to check out Cheri Oteri- she has a whole dvd on her stuff. Love her

                  • nathania says:

Phil Hartman was a genius, the most talented human being that was ever on that show. he is practically a god.

                • Lavalady says:

I went on SNL online yesterday to see the Rosie Pope skit with Tina Fey. Too funny!

              • error404 says:

I used to defy my parents and stay up past my bedtime to watch. Of course, my uncontrolled laughing fits always woke them I got yelled at, but that was part of the fun. I also learned a lot as my older siblings would have to explain half the skits to me: like what a douche bag was. LOL

                • WindyCityWondering says:

                • quincyil says:

I was the perfect daughter. I was obedient. One day, I infomed my mother that I was going to marry a man 10 my senior from Iran and she hung up the phone on me and refused to talk to me for 6 months. My dad made her go to the court house in downtown Chicago with him and my two youngest siblings.

She got over it and now loves him to, but this is a very controlling mother who was very upset when the bird left the nest.

          • Dawn says:

Give them their own show. I know that I’d watch. I’m over RHONY. I don’t even tune in any more but I read the blog and sometimes catch episodes in reruns. I DO watch Bethenny. BTW, Jill would spontaneously combust if Bravo gave them a show and the ratings were good. 🙂

      • Rabble Rouser says:

I don’ t think Jill is someone to be trifled with, she takes things so beyond the level that in the end it just isn’t worth it.

Be it her calling someone an anti-Semite because they didn’t like her book.

Or calling cops and the press claiming she is being stalked by a FAMILY in Chicago and in Texas

Or renting a private plane o ‘pop by and say hello’.

There are no minor skirmishes with that woman- it’s a Hatfeild vs McCoys level of vendetta that you are up against.

        • quincyil says:

I know this kind of woman. They always have friends in the background that do their bidding also.

They form a gang and feel it is their duty to destroy you. If you confront them, they deny it. Then, because you confronted them, they attack again.

      • nathania says:

I get the feeling that Simon believes in the power of dialogue.

Just like that woman who posted the FAS stuff here. He rebutted it in a very civil manner.

He may be a bit naive in that way. But I do think his intentions are good.

    • lovemamaearth says:

If he lost his hotel job because of the show, it was because of HER comments. I do believe she wanted him fired. I don’t see why someone who seems as smart as Simon would quit a job in such a market.

And I can see why Simon wants to be liked by Jill. I have a relative who is jill-ish and I work to keep the peace– maybe similar to that. They and we have to be in the same circles as the jill in our lives at various times and one has to have enough “class” to b civil.

    • lovemamaearth says:

=”Lisa and Jill were excellent speakers,” said Polow. “Jill proved that there is more to her than just the ‘Real Housewives’ persona. …Reality TV isn’t always real, because of editing; you see what they want you to see.”==

I went to read some articles about Bethenny being sued for $12M plus $100 for punitive damages… all I can say is that B was right when she said that money scared her! Mr. greedy wants a free payday

    Bethenny Frankel sued for $100 million‎ – msnbc.com

Sorry if this was already posted

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Not really worried because Bethenny has Jim Beam lawyers behind her now – deepest pockets usually wins – no judge is going to honor an oral agreement from a firm that worked for her for a couple of months. They introduced her to her partner but they didn’t do any work. Bethenny is in the big leagues now and there will always be bottom feeders coming after her.

      • chismosa says:

i do remember an agent being on season 1 and then again on season 2- someone who was somehow managing her. There was a girl once who’s office she went to when Davora whats-her-face came by to tell her she was on the cover of Social Life mag but i dont think this is her

        • WindyCityWondering says:

It would be nice to know exactly what the suing mgmt firm was hired to do for Bethenny.

        • TLM says:

I thought that was just the publisher of that Hamptons Social Life magazine, or whatever it was called. Her agent is Brian Dow. They showed him on the SG bus.

          • Lavalady says:

How long has he been her agents for TLM. Just wondering if it has been the last few years or is he her new agent.

          • TLM says:

I see she wasn’t even a publisher there, just an editor. That Gawker link pretty much rips her to shreds. I never knew why Bethenny was so excited to be in Social Life mag anyway. It must have a circulation of less than 50.

      • TLM says:

Beam doesn’t represent Bethenny. This all happened prior to her deal with them. It’s all about the deal she had with the management company, and Beam has so far not been named as a defendant. The only interest Beam has is in keeping the terms of their deal with her private. At most, they would be witnesses.

I agree that the oral agreement would not be persuasive, but I’m now reading about emails that were exchanged as well as other written agreements. We won’t know the full story unless or until we see the actual complaint.

I agree this will most likely not go to trial, but will be settled. If it goes to trial, the amount she actually made from the Beam sale would become public record, since it’s relevant to damages. Her management company will find out the real figure in discovery, and they’ll negotiate from there.

        • AZ Girl says:

Unfortunately it is going to be major pain and exspensive for B. Frivilous lawsuits drive me crazy.

          • TLM says:

I am a B fan till the end, but I am not willing to write it off as frivolous. If they helped her broker her deal with Kanbar and introduced them, then chances are they are owed something. The tough part will be figuring out what the damages are here, and it will come down to examining exactly what communications went between her and her then-management. The timing of her firing them and then signing a SG deal sounds odd, without knowing more details. I’m sure the plaintiffs will depose Beam and Kanbar.

I worked with placement agencies for years, and they go after commissions they are owed if they find out someone was hired who they introduced to the company, or at least submitted a resume to them, even if they did little else. They usually win. Most agencies vigorously pursue these commissions, because it’s a major part of their income.

As much as I like B, I think her former management would be silly not to pursue this if what we’ve heard so far is true. I doubt she was intending to scam anyone; no one knew SG would take off the way it did. As B said, “Mo’ money, mo’ problems.” They will work it out.

  13. WindyCityWondering says:

It dawned on me last night why I have such a problem with the TCM – they are being treated like novice chefs looking to break into the industry – why can’t we see them do what they do best? Work in a professional environment on dishes that show their styles – then judge them on a profession level with a professional panel of judges. That whinny judge has to go – he makes the judging process so painful! I laughed in agreement when that member of the band said he would stick a fork in James!

  14. floridagirl88 says:

After watching BEA, it is such a chore to watch the NY hot mess. Jill and her constant inappropriateness is tiresome. She just can’t keep both feet out of her mouth. What is wrong with this woman? Has she tried therapy? Damn, I Hate Jill Zarin! I don’t think I will watch if there is a S5 because already I am getting tired of S4 and aren’t even half the way through. How tired? I’ll look at something else when an episode originally airs and catch it On Demand after I’ve run out of other things to watch. Allows me to skip commercials, too.

Bravo, please stop the madness that is Jill Zarin.

    • NAmerican says:

I don’t watch the RHNY anymore either, I just am not into the nastiness and cattiness. So I just read about on this blog – I like to hear about the drama, but I just can’t watch it anymore. I agree with many on this board who have been saying that BEA is such a better show, it’s sweet, funny, and positive.

      • MAMAZ says:

I’m with you. I can’t watch any of the Housewives shows anymore. They are like emotional snuff flicks.
But I love Bethenny so I come on here no and again to hear what folks are saying about her and BEA.

        • nathania says:

          “emotional snuff flicks”
          that is a perfect description.

Bravo sent KKB clearly careening over the edge (the more time passes the more i’m thinking withdrawal from something she’s usually on that she couldn’t take on St. John because of cameras/castmates) and they have no conscience about what happened or how it could have ended in damage to her or other castmates. Jill is clearly mental yet they continue to have her on because … well that i don’t understand.

    • T-REX says:

Yep, I have given up on both RHOC, can’t stand any of the people on that show. Have now given up RHNY, I hate Jill and Kelly, heard Sonja turned into a raving lunatic, and this new character is starting off as one of the biggest liars ever, no need to tune in to that hot mess, I will just read about it on this blog. Not sure about Jersey yet, but since they kept Teresaliar I don’t think I can stomach another season of that show. So it’s down to RHBH, I went from watching all to just one. Of course I will watch as many seasons of Bethenny’s show as they can produce, but I don’t think she will do more than one more. Way to go Bravo, way to keep an audience!

A breath of fresh air compared to JZ and her “which designer dress I should buy”, or any number of them who tweet about appearing on Wendy Williams. By the way, what is the Wendy Williams show? I searched for it on my Directv guide and could only find it at midnight on BET – past my bedtime (except for SNL 😉 ). The only guests she seems to have are the Housewives.

      • Christine says:

JZ tweeted that she couldn’t get across the FDR because of firetrucks. Oh those pesky nuisances on the FDNY. Don’t they know that Jill hasn’t shopped in like the last 11 minutes?

        • chismosa says:

Christine now THAT sounds like a typical Jill type of tweet

          • Christine says:

I have friend who has a radio talk show in Boston. He sent me an article about the residents of Beacon Hill who were complaining about those noisy LifeStar helicopters landing at Mass General being so loud that they sometimes could not hear their conversations. I first thought, doesn’t Jill have friends in Boston?

            • quincyil says:

I am sure Mass Gen is busy. I think living in that neighborhood is a mistake they should move to a farm on the prairie. The helicopter comes over 2 times a day because the main oil pipe lines for the nation run across out land. I wave to the pilots and they wave back. No one is allowed to dig anywhere near those pipe lines.

        • error404 says:

is that the actual tweet? It does make sense. It’s impossible to cross the FDR, unless you use the pedestrian bridges. It’s a 3 lane highway! Did she mean she was trying to drive down the FDR? Like any major city, it’s clogged with traffic every day.

          • error404 says:

            sorry.. doesn’t make sense.

She has a twitpic of FDNY trucks in front of her cab at the entrance to FDR N and comments that they’re blocking her and something about that being her life.
The comments about being nuisances and shopping were meant by me to be ironic.
I just thought that it was a petty thing to complain about.

      • chismosa says:

that reminds me Nene is on WW today if anyone cares. Go Nene!
Wendy was a big radio personality and then got a show on tv. Basically she looks like a tranny and is made great fun of on The Soup- on E!. But i like Wendy, she also calls it like she sees it. Shes from NJ originally and tapes in NY

      • Lavalady says:

It’s on in the daytime here in NJ, on Fox. Just your regular everyday talk show. Wendy was on Dancing with the Stars awhile ago, but I think she was voted off early on.

      • Christine says:

Thank you for the Wendy info. I didn’t think it was up there with Ellen – who has guests like Bethenny.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Bravo has to do something with RHNY – Jill/Kelly and LuAnn are so boring and bring a hugh negative vibe to the franchise. Jill doing self reflection and renewing herself? Kelly wishing for Prince Charming to come rescue her and give her daughters a normal life? LuAnn, with ice in her veins, doing a love story? Bravo needs to clean out the NY stable – it really stinks!

      • Pantry Viewer says:

Ugh, couldn’t agree more. Felt so good to turn off the tv last week after Jill walked up to the table in the restaurant and immediately they started turning ugly and hateful with their rehearsed Ramona stuff. Blech. Seriously, these women are completely uninteresting.

      • nathania says:

they should have done so at the end of last season.

Andy just will not listen and it is going to cause him this show if not the whole franchise. It’s already obvious it would have been a whole different show without Jill in the picture. And what was the need for Cindy to be added? I like Cindy, but she’s unnecessary.

    • error404 says:

I don’t really get all the Cat love. I find her lacking in humor or dignity. Yes, she can hold her own in a fight and does not suffer fools gladly, but none of it translates into “entertainment” for me. Both the Salahis and Countless Lulu were unphased by her attacks, as liars and grifters live in a fantasy world of their own making, and Cat wasn’t even snarky in her attacks, just kind shrill. Petty fights and watching Alex and Ramoner get all agitated while Jill and Cindy refuse to own up to their horrid behavior is a big part what’s wrong with s4 to begin with, so watch Cat humorously go after these delusional bitches who will only say some stupid put down about her shoes in their talking heads as a rebuttal will only be more of what’s wrong IMHO.

      • chismosa says:

i dont adore her but i do think shed be a welcome change to NY. I get it- she’s not that amazing but imo i like it. compared to the other $hitty ‘wives’ representing the tri-state area

        • nathania says:

she might get on my nerves in real life but I like my rude and angry people to be outwardly rude and angry, unlike the Countless who is rude and angry and unwilling to cop to it and pretends to be something else. I think Cat has her defects but she’d be great on NY.

  17. TLM says:

Does anyone know who the crazy woman writing for Jewish Journal.com actually is?? It appears her only topic is Bethenny, and every single column is hateful. I couldn’t believe this one. It appears her singular mission in life is to defame Bethenny. The publication says it has 600K subscribers, and I find this very hard to believe. No publication worth its salt would allow a columnist to write the things this person does about anyone, even someone they didn’t like. The writer seems to stop just short of equating Bethenny with Hitler.

    • quincyil says:

I noticed that she comes into a google for “Bethenny Frankel.” I stay far away from this persond.

    • Christine says:

Wow, that is one angry, bitter person. Her words make ours sound like a Jill Zarin lovefest.
As an aside, filing lawsuits are easy, winning is not. Oral contracts are stupid moves and seldom binding without some written agreement backing them. I was a practicing attorney for 12 years after retiring from law enforcement and this was the kind of frivolous crap that I hated about attorneys and the court system. Anyone with a pulse can be a client – with or without real damages. Punitive damages are even harder to prove. B will probably settle as it is much more cost effective. That’s really all these bottom feeders want.
Also, much as I have daydreams about winning Powerball, I often tell my husband that I can only imagine every A–Hole relative and acquaintance who would crawl out the woodwork with some claim to some of it.
B is right – more money, more problems.

she sooooo wants to be Bethenny – she is totally Kelly jealous of her!

      • MichellefromNY says:

Lashon hara, speaking ill of another is a big sin in judaism. In biblical times you contracted leprosy when you spoke ill of another and had to be separated from the community.

Also, the reason the commentators and ilana keep hating on bethanny because of how shetreats her parents isbecause in judaism honoring ones parents is major league important, its in the ten commandments. So i get why they dont like bethenny who bad mouths her parents, unlike jill who never badmouths her mom even though im sure she resents her.

But what these people dont understand is that bethenny has every reason to hate her parents. My mom went through an equally traumatizing childhood with her parents and she badmouths them all the time. Today, my mother is a stronger person and raised an amazing family. You cant judge someone who went through those kind of experiences, you just cant. Its something you have to work through your whole life and it rarely gets easier.

There’s a sense of superiority amongst those commentators, like if you dare put down your mom you are an awful person. No, jill is an awful person because she’s disgusting to everyone.

    • T-REX says:

Wow was that Harsh! This woman is obviously delusional, I am sure if you checked she probably follows JZ on Twitter. First off the whole “Dancing on her father’s grave” comment is so off kilter. Seriously, have you watched any of the previous RHNY seasons, Bethenny had tried everything in her power to get closer to that man, and he pushed her away. Bethenny’s mother did do all of the things Bethenny has claimed! Frankly if my mother treated me like crap all, wrote horrible articles about me and sold pictures to the internet to make money off me without my permission, I don’t think I would speak to her either.

      • quincyil says:

      • nathania says:

honestly it sounds to me like this was written by her mother, or someone related to her mother. probably someone in her mother’s immediate family (I am thinking sister) because they use her mother’s full birth name and because they are clearly every bit as crazy as mom is.

      • nathania says:

the kind of rancor these women have against her is the kind that is usually held by people who have been on the receiving end of legitimate harm. it is very, very strange. to my knowledge, the only evidence of Bethenny’s grave misdoings is the voicemail telling Jill to ‘get a hobby’ (an understatement if there ever was one). I keep hearing these references to Bethenny’s supposedly grave crimes, and yet, NO evidence of anything has ever surfaced, despite her spending 4 seasons on a reality show, 2 on RHONY and 2 on her own show. If Bethenny has concealed an evil nature after 4 seasons on reality tv then she is truly a mastermind.

What is eating these women? They sound positively miserable as human beings. It might just be that Bethenny was once less than satisfied with her life and she changed it, and they are unwilling or not courageous enough to do the same

    • jeepers1941 says:

I doubt it. You have to understand the mentality behind the traditional jew. Jill they like because she’s of “their kind”. Bethenny, who isn’t really jewish according to orthodox standards (which is the standard i abide by) but is jewish according to most traditional jews, left the faith. So she kind of deserted the jewish way of life by being nondenominational, so it boils their blood. Mind you she married a christian, the absolute worst thing to do according to a lot of jews. So because she “abandoned” them, there’s a lot of resentment. So this lawsuit is how they see karma paying her back for ditching them.

Honestly? Unless bethanny does something truly terrible like jill, theres no reason to be so vile to her. Jill, on the other hand, pisses everyone off so we have every reason to bitch about her behavior. 🙂

    • nathania says:

      my comment on the article:

if this lawsuit is successful it will be precedent setting. I have had oral agreements with tons of people, and I have introduced many people to each other. I would comment at length about the obvious mental impairment of this author and how they are a complete embarrassment to both themselves and this publication, but I have to get started making my list of people that I am going to sue.

  18. HD says:

Question-Why are some people saying Bethanny fired her management in 2008 and others say days before she inked her deal? Which one is it? If it is days before, that does look a little shady. Just being honest.

    • Stella says:

The article says she fired them in 2008 and right before she started developing Skinnygirl so it was about 2.5 years before she sold Skinnygirl.

    • chismosa says:

that’s exactly what i said yesterday- shady if days before!

hello all – thanks for the recap! I enjoy watching all of the TC shows even this one, even though boiling water is an iffy thing for me! – not sure if anyone already mentioned this, but Raquel Castro, the girl that is singing on the Voice, small, long hair, very cute – was the little girl in the movie Jersey Girl with ben affleck –

ah trivia – how I love it – as for Jill – ah – how I hate it!!!

kisses to all you fabulous people!!!

I can no longer watch the indignities the producers make these skilled chefs go through. These chefs’ abilities were insulted with having to work a fast food challenge, and then by working in inefficient RV kitchens. These chefs have worked long and hard to earn their good reputations, and to see them go through these stupid challenges is upsetting. Why do the producers want to makes these professional chefs look like incompetent cooks? Why do these chefs accept these sorts of abuse?

I think they signed up to win money for their charities, but they also get their face and name on TV so people will flock to their restaurants.

  21. Tonight’s episode of RHONY might actually be interesting. This is a tweet from Ramona:

ramonasinger: 2nite Jill gets caught lying to me on RHONYC. Tries to get the whole thing bleeped out! Happens @serafinagroup 4 my #RamonaPinotGrigio party

I guess when Ramona states that Jill “tried to get the whole thing bleeped out”, she means that Jill tried to get Bravo to edit something out. Maybe this is why Jill is accusing her castmates of “acting”in tonight’s episode.

    • Christine says:

      To quote Carla Hall “Hootie-hoo.”

    • IndianaHousewife says:

Darn it! I had just gotten to where I was in bed at a decent hour. Lately I have been just as happy to run a week behind on my viewing, read the blog to stay current and be sleeping by 10:05pm. With this teaser I am sure will still be up at 11:00pm and then sucked into watching WWHL too. Oh well the weekend is almost here!!!

      • Lavalady says:

I’m with you Indiana. I feel myself getting sucked into watching it tonight, although I always make sure to record it and WWHL as well. I think Ramona is talking about something Jill said to the bride at the wedding, something like “why did you invite Ramona”. And of course the bride tells Ramona, and Ramona must confront Jill, and so on, and so on.

        • IndianaHousewife says:

I think you might be right. The good news is I stocked up on groceries last night. Guess who has a good supply of vodka lemonades? Here’s how it goes at my house, homework, supper, baseball, bath, story, bed — and then I have my version of TURTLE TIME – a cocktail and the housewives! Might be time to get a hobby???

    • MichellefromNY says:

Jill tweeted that if you wanted the “truth” about tonights episode, you should sign up for her crapload of a newsletter. More like spinning if you ask me. She’s going to be called out tonight and she’s not happy.

  22. timetopayupbethenny says:

It is so wonderful seeing karma paying a visit to Ms. Frankel. You know she is absolutely pulling her hair out over this lawsuit. The thought of losing any money must drive her insane.

    • IndianaHousewife says:

Probably not nearly as insane as you feel watching her get everything she has worked really hard for. Jealous much? And you are right Karma is a B!tch, what do you think yours will be for someone to get happiness over anothers troubles? Think before you post!

    • Pantry Viewer says:

Seriously, Jill, your green envy is showing from underneath your knock-off spanx, and it is ug.ly! Trudge down to Bed Bath and Beyond and cover it up. Most unbecoming for you to wallow in a perceived problem for B. Man, you’re a nasty piece of work. Must be difficult to be so jealous every day of your life.

Go to sleep! Go to sleep!

Ok, I am going to admit this, I tweet occasionally (70 in 3 years maybe) but have no idea what trending means. Can anyone explain this to me?

          • nathania says:

honestly the way Jill is kind of increasingly frantic makes me think she did a ton of conniving and spinning during the break and then the filming, and then conveniently went off to Australia so she wouldn’t be around when things unfolded. Things are unraveling instead, her minions aren’t marching in lockstep like she planned and she’s getting irked and trying to regain control she never had in the first place. So sad to watch.

      • Eve says:

I’m sure that after you DIDN’T watch the finale of BEA on Monday…you were feeling pretty low because B is wealthy AND happy. Don’t be too happy now….B will turn out fine no matter what happens with the lawsuit and will still be nice, more honest and richer than you.

    • HD says:

I don’t think she is pulling her hair out although in all honesty if someone is owed something, you pay them. That is how life works. If she HONESTLY TRULY owes this person, pay him the 10%. If not, then I wouldn’t worry about it so much. Of course she will have legal fees but not on the scale of the payment he is demanding.

If she happens to owe this person, the RIGHT thing to do is pay him. There is no right way to do wrong. I wish I could see the emails and the exchange, etc.

    • error404 says:

” The thought of losing any money must drive her insane.” I’m so confused Jill! Isn’t this kinda an anti-semitic thing to say? Or is it ok because you’re jewish too, kinda like the n-word and rappers? Was there a chapter in your moldy book on “the glee one feels at the misery of friends”? IDK, like most of the world, I never read it.

Tons of suits thrown out everyday because they are deemed “frivolous”. Jill why don’t you just go back to your “tweethole” where you can make up more lies.

      Hi Jill. lol

    • alicia says:

I think Bethenny will be just fine. Money isn’t everything to her.

    • nathania says:

      I kind of doubt it.

Because Bethenny has been poor. She’s not spoiled, she’s not whiny, she’s not dependent on anyone but herself. She knows she can make it poor. It’s great knowledge to have. She’s probably in shock that someone would think they could take something she worked so hard to earn, though. But being around Jill Zarin for as long as she was might have prepared her for the reality that not everyone is ethical and many people are snakes.

    • dsc60 says:

karma did pay a visit to bethenny which is why she found a great guy, had a beautiful baby girl, and is having success after success. unfortunately, when good things come to a person, there are those nasty little bugs that crawl out of the woodwork, much like yourself, because of their own greed and jealousy. not to worry, they will be swatted away.

      • T-REX says:

  26. WindyCityWondering says:

Jill’s reality is sadly not in sync with other people’s reality. When she gets caught lying she changes the story. When changing the story doesn’t work then she trys really hard to play the victim. Too many lies with too few sincere apologies won’t make people believe you Jill! If Ramona and Simon are both calling her on it now then it is easy to figure out that she comes off looking like the bitch she truly is! So much for owning herself – lol!

  28. fort lauderdale gay says:

Well kids, tonight is Thursday. I wonder what the ladies from NY will have in store for us this evening? Bravo calls this episode “The Mask Has Two Faces”. I’m wondering if a better title would be “Bonfire of the Banalities”? Perhaps an ember from Jill and Alex’s “hatchet burning” last week will find its way from Brooklyn to Manhattan like a heat seeking missile, to that poor tired wig and costume that our dear Sonja is going to be wearing. There is no known gay, dead or alive that can fix that weave! Chris March must be a sorceress! Miss Thing is gonna be running back to Project Runway with proof that she can fix ANYTHING and make it wearable. I see another Drama Desk award in her future! Meanwhile, Countess Ugly Moth High Horse (she wasn’t wearing the squash blossom last week) will get her wish and due to an unfortunate house fire, Sonja will be forced to buy a more POSH toaster oven. (Frankly, Sonja and I are just happy our toaster ovens still get hot….) LuMann’s showmance boyfriend Jacques, upon seeing Sonja’s hiney will no doubt rush himself and LuMann off to France to inspect some winery’s barrels. Jacques, still reeling from the sight of Sonja’s derriere, will no doubt fall into the wine vat with LuMann and she will be forced to do her talking head sessions still covered in grape juice and husks. In a few weeks, will the Countess turn camel spit into wine? Now that is a recipe we could all use while traveling in Morocco!
Cindy is going to visit the dentist with Jill in tow. Will the dentist wire Jill’s mouth shut so she can begin PR401 and convince us that she has completed her transformation from the conniving caterpillar she is, to the sweet, true and friendly butterfly she espouses to be? I think not. I haven’t had any takers on that swampland in the Sahara I have been offering to give to anyone who can prove Jill has really changed.
Ramona, pass me the Pinot grigio, PLEASE!

    Bethenny’s response to lawsuit:
UPDATE 4:05 p.m. – CNN received the following statement from Frankel:

“Unfortunately, one of the signs of success is being the subject of frivolous lawsuits, like this one. This is simply someone with his hand out, who did nothing to earn it, and I am not going to be bullied. We are exploring all of our options, including filing counterclaims against these people. “

    • T-REX says:

You go Bethenny! We have all seen her pissed on camera. She is going to go all “New York and LA combined” on their asses, HA!

    • chismosa says:

im glad she responded, good for her. She will win out in the end. Good for her, we all love you B (well most of us here at least)

    • fort lauderdale gay says:

I agree. Alex submitted a logo for skinny girl and Bethenny decided not to use it. I can easily see Bethenny firing someone, when she thought she had a better way to go about it. I hope Bethenny “cleans some plows”. One thing about it, when Bethenny cleans a plow, you can eat off of it when she’s done!

    • California35 says:

Any ways, good for Bethenny on responding. I hate for her to deal with all the mess a lawsuit (real or fake, with reason or not) will bring. It will bring too much stress and worry to all involved. I hope it doesn’t turn into a circus, but I am glad she said something. Short and sweet…you go Bethenny! I hope all works out!

Hi everyone…I am trying to keep my focus on work, too much going on. I hope to join you all tonight for NYHW…

    Hello IHJZ Family,

Thank you all again for your kind words and support. I am having a much better day today (emotionally) than I was the other night. It really felt like I was on total system overload. My brother, Leo, had a really good day today. He is on the list and has pretty rough road ahead, but we are looking into other options, like stem cell research. There is a cardiac research program in Houston, TX that we are signing him into when he gets released. He meets the criteria for admission into the program and they do accept patients who are waiting for a donor. Because he has one of the more rare blood types his wait on this will be longer than some, but my research into the stem cell program gives me hope that this could work for him.

Thank you all again for your support, it really has meant the world to me.

Oh, lordy. Jill is visiting Pittsburgh.

The way this woman exploits the Jewish community offends me as a Jewish person. Just the whole threshhold of having to donate $1000 or so to see this woman is just obnoxious. She kept saying the “Jewish Mother” thing could apply to anyone, yet she has almost exclusively targeted synagogues and Jewish organizations to promote it.

I can’t keep up with Jill and her moods. In this article, all of a sudden it’s a regret that she fought with Bethenny and she “should have learned a lesson” and hopes they’ll be friends again; countless other times I’ve heard her basically say they weren’t really ever friends. She seems to have a split personality.

Finally, she ends with saying everything she does is “for the fans,” taking a cue from Bethenny. “The fans” would be upset if she didn’t continue her never-ending book tour. I tend to think Jill’s fan base are Jewish women 65+. Nothing against those people, but I just don’t think Jill is attracting 20- and 30-something women like Bethenny has, and certainly not in Bethenny’s numbers.

    • Nancy says:

Another line we need to put on a t-shirt…per Jill

      NEWS ALERT JILL…NO WE WON’T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Christine says:

Pittsburgh? Maybe she heard Bethenny talking about all the good people in her life from Pennsylvania and decided to crash that party.

Especially since, you were back stabbing me at the time anyways. For you to make me feel guilty? How f’n dare you. Wow, so many ppl were right, I wish I would of woke up and listened along time ago.
I won’t be back to get your reply either, in case you thought of leaving one. Not interested.
Do I really need to sign my name so you can have ppl come do what you wanted me to do. No thanks.

It don’t matter, obviously people aren’t allowed to express their selves with out people like Christy always thinking that she know’s everything. It’s nice of you Q, to say something like that to her. Pardon my posts to Christy, but she is always putting her fat face where it don’t belong. I have a prety good idea whio it is also. If it is true, from what I heard then Lynn should apolagize. Now christy go make a call to someone. Play hero.

        • Christine says:

I’m in the South and the dialect here is unique too, to say the least. Didn’t mean any disrespect to any of you but I do agree that this was personal and didn’t belong here.

      • ForCrustyChristy1 says:

No, I hate 2 admit, in Christy’s /Intensity88 and Grace’s world, no one is allowed to state how they feel. Only their feelings are valid. Sorry YouKnowWhoIam, your feelings aren’t valid. Who cares if Lynn used you. Now if it were Crusty, the world would have to stop and listen.
Crusty, don’t you have some reporting to do? Like calling Child Protection Services on someone innocent because you want to be known as a hero? Like you do every day of the week.
You jokers, cry that someone called SparklNlace’s boss, because she was tweeting on State time, instead of working.

      • ForCrustyPart2 says:

Meanwhile, if that were oh let’s say you know who, you would be the first one calling their boss up if you knew they worked for the state and was using a state computer, and state time to tweet.
Why don’t you Crusty, quit acting like your God, and stop acting like everyone should fear you. When you say, “don’t let me call them out” “don’t let me get play hero and ruin one’s life” You know what I mean by that.
It’s okay when you open your foul mouth, god for bid when some one else does. If you worried about your own family, as much as you do people you don’t know, then maybe you wouldn’t be paying out of your ass for dental work, for your nasty a$$ husbands gingivitis, cavity infected teeth.
People don’t use names because of freaks like Christy and Grace. They look you up and call you, but if you call back it’s harassment. You jokers. I bet you Christy would take credit for Bin Laden’s capture if she could.

She’s one of Jill’s rolls. She blew her cover with the “I’m glad Bethenny is getting sued” quote. Who else would slam Lynn and Bethenny at the same time.

  36. Ihate2Admit says:

I hate to admit, one thing Jill has been right about, that is editing. We have heard complaints from all the housewives. Jill calling Alex a f*ing B, rather she said it to the Producer or her, not right, but they should of showed it how it happened.
Learning more about editing is starting to turn me off reality shows all together.
Sure they have to make it for ratings, but if that were our Bethenny, we would be mad as heck saying they made her look bad.
    Shame on you ShedMedia!

    • Kukulet says:

Why would it matter who Jill said it to or how it happened? She knew she was miked. She knew the cameras were up. She signed a contract agreeing that whatever was documented via video or audio would appear on the show. She’s not a beginner at this-it’s her fourth season.

Jill and everyone else gives the editors the raw material to work with. Can’t make a banana smoothie without a banana.

      • WindyCityWondering says:

Makes you wonder what she sees when she watches the shows!

      • lovemamaearth says:

That it even entered Jill’s head is nasty. Much less that she said it.

I don’t think B ever blamed editing. Alex might have in the first season because it was slanted. Ex, them going to the beach, it was clearly not a warm day that they would have chosen to do that as a couple.

      • WOWWOWOWOWOW says:

Ihate2admit, Sorry love, you may not have your own opinion.

  37. Ihate2Admit says:

Think about it, if B said to the Producers, that Jill is
    CUN Tuesday
    Hell of a Liar
    B i t c h
then they did it what they did to Jill to B, we would be upset.
I’m surprised she didn’t get in trouble for saying how they did it, and how it really went down.

    • Nancy says:

The difference is that Bethenny would have been right.

      • lovemamaearth says:

But they did show B talking about people pretty harshly.

        PS to Kota, take care.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

My problem with the editing card is very simple – if you don’t act like a bitch or talk like a bitch then the editing crew can’t make you look like one! What happened to owning your behavior Jill? There is no way you can redeem yourself if you continue to act like a jealous shrew – continue to talk trash and play your Team Jill game – you are beyond boring now. And as for fans, IMO, most of them must be in your head!

  38. WindyCityWondering says:

Warning: Flying Monkeys are on the loose – Jill must really come off looking like the queen of the asshats tonight! This should be delicious and a gift to bloggers.

Bethenny responds to the lawsuit in PEOPLE Magazine:

Bethenny Frankel: ‘I’m Not Going to Be Bullied’

    By Alla Byrne

Bethenny Frankel may have been looking forward to laying low after an emotional, intense season on Bethenny Ever After, but the drama continues.

After reportedly selling her Skinnygirl cocktail brand for $120 million, the reality star was sued this week by her ex-mangers for a share of the deal, plus $100 million in punitive damages, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Life is good for me with all the things that are most important, namely family,” Frankel told PEOPLE Thursday. “But let’s be clear, I am a strong woman, and I am not afraid and won’t back down when I’m bullied by something with zero merit. Success is earned by hard work, not taking advantage of others.”

In another statement released Thursday, Frankel said, “Unfortunately, one of the signs of success is being the subject of frivolous lawsuits, like this one.”

According to the complaint filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Raw Talent’s co-president Doug Wald alleges he signed Frankel as a client in 2008, introduced her to the liquor industry exec who helped her sell her brand, and was fired days before she signed her deal to sell Skinnygirl.

“This is simply someone with his hand out, who did nothing to earn it, and I am not going to be bullied,” Frankel added in her statement. “We are exploring all of our options, including filing counterclaims against these people.”

    • With reporting by LIZ MCNEIL

    • Nancy says:

Bethenny should sue them for slander.

      • Okie Folkie says:

I wondered after the lawsuit came about, since Beth was on WWHL on Sunday night and the news broke Monday mornin, do ya’ll think she already knew what was coming down the pike towards her? Thus her “Mo’ money mo’ problems” comment.

If she did know, I think she was acting like the center seed in a cucumber. Very cool, indeed.

        GOOD LUCK, Beth!

        • Ihate2Admit says:

This sounds similar to Gretchen Rossi’s law suit that was filed against her . The make up deal. There is so many. Now, if B did do what Gretchen did, have this guy show her all the ends with the promise of being a partner, then it’s not right. But if this guy is just waiting for a hand out, then no. He is wrong.

    • WindyCityWondering says:

Wonder what the other clients of that mgmt firm are thinking about this. While I don’t understand the timeline for this lawsuit, I do understand that I would think twice about hiring a firm that acts like a pimp! Bethenny may have been introduced to David by the firm, but it was B&D who actually did the heavy lifting to get Skinnygirl where it is today.

    • Mookies1mom says:

I hope Bethenny smacks them in court and they walk out with their tail between their legs!

      • AZ Girl says:

Ha! BD was amazing. Bette would take Jill down by just a look. I can see it now. Jill walks in a room where Bette is and she lights a cigarette, turns her back to her and talks to someone else like Jill is vapor.

  41. majnon says:

I didn’t hear about the lawsuit until this morning, and my heart fell when I heard. It’s been encouraging to read everyones comments and then Bethenny’s statement above. I like that she said she is a strong woman and will not be bullied.
    You go girl!

  42. Suzieq says:

Sorry to go OT, but has anyone ever tried watching Chloe and Lamar show? I really like it so far….I don’t love them the way I love B and J, but I do find myself rooting for them. 🙂

    • butterisafruit says:

I watch bits and pieces. When it comes to that family the network runs the show constantly.

  43. Amber...Real Wife says:

Firing Managers isn’t unheard of. Many lack discipline are inept and drop the ball too many times. If this manager was in name only, and B and Julie were doing all the work, as we know they did, then he should’ve been fired. Bethenny is a very intense, demanding client. I’m sure he was unable to produce or represented her poorly.

A year ago hip hop star, NickiMinaj, on the cusp of international stardom fired her first of seven managers because she didn’t apply for a international work permit in time and Nicki was unable to go on a world tour as the opening act for Rihanna. That manager was with her since the beginning. Since then she has since fired 6 other managers, including P.Diddy, who she fired a month before she dropped her first platinum selling dvd. I doubt she has paid any of them.

Now I question would NickiMinaj have more contract experience than BethennyFrankel? The only housewife that isn’t BRAVO’s indentured servant or that has to give a cut of their profits. I think Bethenny will be just fine. A shakedown indeed.

  45. cabbie413 says:

hey Lynn, c’mon where’s the new chat blog! 🙂 I’m watching reruns right now,w here they are discussing not getting Cindy’s invitation – well now that we know Cindy lies so much, I’m inclined to believe she never sent the invitation to the women, except Kelly who has small children. kelly never said she didnt get the invite, but Luann, and omg Sonja went on and on about it.

I’m inclined to believe it actually WAS a kiddie party at the horse farm and she invited Kelly and her kids and Alex and Simon’s kids.

    • lovemamaearth says:

I think Cindy’s business was sending so many invites to bare the beav, that the HWs put her emails into spam or auto delete.

  46. cabbie413 says:

With regard to teh Bethenny lawsuit, i think that maybe for the THREE MONTHS this guy was working with her while she was DEVELOPING skinnygirl, they may have met with various people..but remember, Bethenny said all the big companies said NO. Bethenny, however, didn’t give up on her dream.. After 3 months she fired this guy but continued to develop her product and started mass market it after a year or two..now 2.5 years later, she cant keep the stuff stocked fast enough. Here we are 3 years later, and Bethenny probably goes back to these same big name companies so she can market it internationally, and the big companies that told her no before, NOW see the potential of the product and how successful Bethenny made the brand. So now they deal with Bethenny and the product. In my opinion, Bethenny owes this guy nothing. She worked hard and probably had to hit them over the head with numbers and customer demand that now they want to deal. Initially, as she said, EVERYONE of the big name companies said NO.

what do you guys think about it from that likely scenario?

  47. AZ Girl says:

Has anyone notice how hard Kelly was trying to follow Cindy’s message. She was in her face 2 inches away almost “mouthing” the words coming out of Cindy’s face.
I am being serious now. I think Kelly has a hearing problem. Have you noticed EVERYONE talking to her has to be in her face and inches from her nose to have a conversation with her. I think they “wire” her in for the reunions. I just cannot figure this woman out. She is just beyond normal.

    • majnon says:

I have never been able to forgive Kelly for scary island.

        • lovemamaearth says:

She hit that guy she was dating. We saw her be verbally mean to B. She’s also super rude. I wish her ex husband or an ex boy friend would dish about her.

    • cabbie413 says:

I think as a child people just had to get in her face and talk to her like, well, a child.. and now that’s just how she communicates (using the term loosely with her)

Kelly is really just dumb. She has gotten by on her looks and her marriage to Bensimon. She has absolutely nothing going for her.

notice during the show she said Elle McPherson is “my husband’s” ex ..umm Kelly, if you didnt know, he’s not your husband anymore.

I found it interesting she referred to him as “my husband”

    • chismosa says:

Barshop and ex in war of words

    Alexis Bellino Reveals Eating Disorder

Another Real Housewife has revealed another secret struggle.

On Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, airing 10 p.m. ET on Bravo, Gretchen Rossi, Peggy Tanous, Fernanda Rocha and Alexis Bellino are out for some authentic Texas barbecue. In between footage of Alexis’s digging in, she admits, “I had an eating disorder.”

“I was surprised how Alexis was getting into food,” Peggy said. “I’ve never seen Alexis eat so much.”

Although Alexis told E! News she overcame her food issues after “years of therapy,” she acknowledged that the situation continues to be a lifelong struggle.

“An eating disorder is kind of like an alcoholic,” she says in the above clip of the episode. “Once you have one you’re never completely healed.”

Alexis – who’s a dedicated wife to husband Jim and a mom to James, 4, and twins Melania and Mackenna, 3 – also talks about how her battles with food began.

“My mom and dad’s divorce – it was devastating to me. It started an eating disorder. I couldn’t control it,” she says, “I’d go days without eating. I’d make myself throw up if I had to, and it was horrible. I just realized I’ve got to get this thing under control. And I did.”

Telling E! she “suffered from both anorexia and bulimia,” Alexis also revealed why she chose to speak publicly about her struggle. “It’s time to try to help people with something I overcame, Someone can be 10 years free of it. Your life can go back to normal.”

I know you are all , like, “I told you so!” …. err I meant …Shocked!
