I Hate Jill Zarin Preview – Real Housewives of Atlanta October 4, 2010
Last week my friend HD did an outstanding preview of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and tonight’s the night, the premier will air at 10pm / 9pm Central.
It feels like a really long time since we were all frustrated by the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season Two reunion shows. We know now that the women had rebelled against Bravo and made a pact not to speak badly about each other or argue about anything. This was in response to Bravo refusing to give the women a raise, there would be no drama on the reunion and therefore Bravo wouldn’t benefit from their fighting any longer, not without more money and more perks! Sort of like the cast of Friends, The Real Housewives of Atlanta banned together for a common cause, money!
It was actually a pretty smart thing to do, and apparently to some extent it worked because they’re all coming back tonight! Even Lisa Wu Hartwell, I’m sure you’ve all heard, will be in just a supporting role this season, she may appear only in a few episodes at the beginning of the season. Word is Mrs. Hartwell refused to amp up her storyline for Bravo, I guess her bubble baths with her husband just weren’t as sexy as she thought they were.
So we’re left with the four from last season and two new housewives that will be introduced in the next few weeks. We have three bat-shit crazy women, NeNe, Kim and Sheree, and then there is Kandi Burress who could not be more unsuited for a Bravo housewives series. I’m assuming that Kandi joined the cast to spark her musical career but I can’t imagine why she is still there. Kandi is truly talented and it actually annoys me every time Bravo executive, Andy Cohen plays these talentless housewives songs on his network and completely ignores Kandi! Kandi is the only one with any talent and she doesn’t get air time. Possibly Kandi refused to give Bravo a portion of the proceeds, and rightly so!
Kandi Burress is a single mom who joined the cast last season with her cute little daughter, overbearing mother and a slew of aunts watching over her! Overbearing or not, Kandi’s mother cares so much about her daughter and the love that they share is beautiful.
Kandi has an internet radio show called Kandi Koated Nights and the conversations get risqué leaving all of the other housewives blushing in shock. I hope this season Kandi finds true love! Kandi is the Sonja (RHONY) of Atlanta.
NeNe Leakes is a big woman with a bigger mouth and even bigger personality! She has battled with every Atlanta housewife at one time or another and her highly publicized marital problems are no surprise to anyone who’s been following the story of NeNe during the off season. Kandi aired a telephone conversation that NeNe’s husband Greg had with a radio personality on her internet radio program. Greg apparently did not know that this was being recorded or would ever be for public consumption, naturally it was less than kind. Greg talks about how much money he spent to help his wife become famous, renting an expensive home, buying her a new wardrobe and expensive vehicles for her and her son, he wanted to be repaid for those things. While it appeared as though this couple were pretty tight during Season One, Greg was the voice of reason that would rein NeNe in when she got completely out of control and we rarely saw them argue. Apparently this was all part of the plan to make NeNe a star and support their lifestyle.
This season we’re going to see this couple implode and their marriage is stressed to the extreme. We’re also going to see NeNe’s son Brice featured as his problems with drugs and the law are highlighted.
NeNe’s on again off again best girlfriend, Kim Zolciak is just a hot mess, this chain-smoking, wig wearing egomaniac who needs a reality check. She fancies herself a singer but has the worst voice of any of the singing housewives. As much as I love Kandi, I totally blame her for allowing Kim to record a single and force us all to hear this horrible song! Kandi says, “Kim has one single and she thinks that she’s Lady GaGa.” Well, now Kim as two singles, her new song, “Goggle Me” was just released last week and it is worse than “Tardy for the Party” if you can imagine.
Kim has two daughters who I can see going in the same direction as Lynne Curtain’s daughters as they’re both already on Twitter, a social network that is arguably an adult site. This woman has had an on again off again relationship with a man she calls “Big Poppa” who we all now know is Lee Najjar, a very successful – and married – real estate mogul based in Atlanta. TMZ cameras were the first to capture images of Zolciak and Najjar on a romantic vacation at the Hotel Atlantis in the Bahamas last November.

Word is that Kim and Big Poppa are now over once again, for the time being, Kim has also been linked romantically to DJ Tracy Young fueling rumors that Zolciak is bi-sexual. Big Poppa was in the picture during filming so he will be presumably talked about but never seen. (the Tommy Manzo of Atlanta)
Bravo has posted some previews of The Real Housewives of Atlanta including the ladies giving tours of their homes and long previews of the show.

New to the show this season is Phaedra Parks, who is with child as we join her this season. This newly married entertainment attorney is the talk of the town due to her new husband and his past stint in jail. Phaedra is a friend of Kandi’s and will be introduced to viewers as she’s planning her very own baby shower.
Also joining this season is supermodel Cynthia Bailey and her 10-year old daughter Noelle. This independent lady who has also done some acting is struggling with the decision to marry her longtime boyfriend.
Finally, I was surprised to learn that Bravo was bringing back Sheree Whitfield to the show. Sheree’s now defunct clothing line She By Sheree was really the only interesting thing about this housewife. A single mom, we watched last season as the usually cool and calm Sheree was visibly nervous meeting with a fashion house executive. Her clothing line seemed to define her storyline and with that gone, it will be interesting to see what comes next for the divorced single mother.
Sheree has a huge ego, throwing herself lavish parties and having a massive painting of herself unveiled to hang in her home. Sheree’s children do not appear on the show presumably because the father of the children will not allow them to appear, I’m not really sure what we’re going to see Sheree doing this season. She seems to be the Dina Manzo (RHONJ) of Atlanta, without the shy husband and ugly cats.
And so with six and a half housewives, Atlanta kicks off tonight and I, for one, can’t wait so Watch What Happens!

Last night I did my second interview with Carly Hall along with Laura (@Geoaubsmom) who ripped open the latest Dina Manzo story. Laura is responsible for providing us with the documents on the charity, she really did her homework.
Carly has interviewed Sonja Morgan (RHONY) for her show and has invited Dina Manzo to give her side of the story on the show, so far no response.
When the interview is released, should be later today, I’ll post the link so that you can all hear Laura’s story.
This whole Project Ladybug thing could have been a complete nothing had Dina just answered a few simple questions rather than losing her temper and becoming defensive. People who donate their money to charity have the right to inquire as to where that money is going, how it’s being spent and how much of it goes directly to the children that Dina’s claiming to help. As it turns out, past year’s financial statements have revealed only 51% of the funds donated to Project Ladybug have been turned over to St. Joe’s Hospital to help children.
That is less than some charities and more than others so it isn’t necessarily the end of the world, and it is within legal guidelines, but Dina’s refusal to cooperate with Laura’s requests for information resulted in more questions and more research. Laura has committed to seeing this through to the end, Project Ladybug is required to file their final 2009 tax returns by the end of this year and Laura will be watching…

Thintervension is tonight. There are lie detector tests for the castmates. I think Jeana Keough is going to get caught with a coconut shrimp in her pocket.
I am going to review Thintervension in put in the comment section for those who want to read it. I am also going to write about that food voice that Jeana listens to when she is supposed to be eating oatmeal.
Went to happy hour with my girlfriends last week and they order coconut shrimp. I could not bring myself to eat it after finding out how many calories it has. Thintervention has been really informative but I am worried about the amount of injuries that have occurred. Jackie needs to warm up her people and stretch them out after the workouts. Off to spin class.
I think they are over doing it too. I walked for the first few months of my cardio and the teacher watched over me in the weight lifting. I was afraid of getting hurt. After all of this time, I can finally jump rope again. You wouldn’t believe how hard it was in the beginning.
Did you do a Thintervention recap this last time? I looked for it and I guess I missed it. There is so much going on on this blog I am having trouble keeping up with it. It has become more interesting to me with Jackie trying to rein in Jeanna and that English woman who doesn’t want to participate that much (I’m terrible with names).
I wrote it on Tues last week and it’s in that comment section. There was a second part of skin care.
Looking forward for your comments. I’d been so freaking busy lately I turn on the TV but can’t sit down to watch anything! So I pretty much learn the details from this blog :).

I agree, Kim couldn’t hold a tune if it had handles and that is my one pet peeve with Kandi….that she actually let Kim think she could sing!! Girl, tell the truth, you had to alter her voice within centimeters of it being not hers to get it to sound even halfway decent to human ears!!

Without knowing what Greg did, besides the unknown interview, I think he’s been used and put out to pasture. He seemed to be loving, doting husband and father. Tried to help his stepson become more independent and responsible but now that the money is gone, Nene is making him out to be the bad guy and wants a divorce. Stardom changed Nene. She really made it about herself and you saw her constantly out WITHOUT her husband. While Lisa and her husband went to events together, Nene went alone. Greg was home watching the kid and I guess being old. Nene cares only about Nene.
I am in agreement with you. I thought that last season when Kim said that Nene was cheating on Greg.
Amber I have to agree with you about Nene, season one she was my favorite and last year the change in her was scary…
While Greg did come across as very likable and the voice of reason in previous seasons…he was supposedly still married when he hooked up with NeNe. He is also said to be behind on child support for his son he had with his ex-wife.
Thus he is nothing more than a dead beat who left his wife for a trashy- loud and obnoxious stripper who isn’t nearly as attractive as she thinks she is.
I agree. Nene used to be my favoriate before Kandi, and not I cannot stand the woman.
Atlanta is entertaining, but I would love to see it canned just so that Nene can not make another dollar off of this franchise.

WSL- I did see your crash! That was a missed Port/Starboard crossing!! I commented on last blog but it got a little crazy over there! We race a J-boat (smaller than the one in your picture). I’ve raced for NYYC for an International Team race but I’ve never been to the club in Manhattan. Just Harbor Court.
A little bit of crazy, lol!
Nene was my favorite housewife in Atlanta S1. I really felt for her when she was humiliated by Sheree, then betrayed by Kim and Sheree. She went through it and came out smelling like a rose. Yes, she was loud but she was funny and witty and that made her more endearing.
Then came S2. After all of the positive press and endorsements from celebrities she lost her mind! S2 she came guns blazing, she was over the top in every situation. She went to every event looking for fights, demanding camera time, bullying Kim and Kandi at every opportunity. Her thuggish behaviour was outrageous for any woman let alone one in her 40’s.
Later when asked about losing fans, prior to Jill though, she blamed editing for showing her in a bad light. Nope. Much like Jill, all of the behaviour was there, BRAVO chose not to show it. They were cutting the story to make villains and heroines. Then when all the rope given to these wives was pulled taught, they showed the wives true colors.
I recall it a little bit differently. She didn’t blame editing. What she said was S1 they were themselves. S2 they had “show runners” who would whisper in their ears, “Go confront XYZ about the rumors going around.” and so on. This made a lot of sense as some of the confrontations seemed contrived and out of the blue. I could see where show runners and fan mail would make someone think showing their ass is cute 😉
Actually she did blame editing on WWHL, in response to Andy’s questions about her behaviour and fan reaction. She said BRAVO chose to air those situations and not everything that was taped. Andy said “So you are going to blame editing?” and she wanted to move on.

Sorry I missed your post last night diva – it was a kina crazy night. I’m feeling good, but the reports don’t match my feelings so I’m in for 4 more chemo treatments.
Thanks all for the kind thoughts and prayers. I am constantly amazed by the amount of support I find here in contrast to the lack of it within my family who simply can’t be bothered. You’re all the best!

My family did the same thing to me when i was diagnosed with cancer. Never ever mentioned it, never ever asked me if I was ok-nothing but crickets chirping if you know what I mean.

I had the family sit down when all this started and told them I would need help and that none of them would ever have to go through something like this alone and I didn’t think I should have to either. Everyone was going to be there for me but it never happened. I’m not even telling them about the new series of treatments.
I hope the 4 go quickly. With Altlanta starting, maybe this blog can take your mind off the chemo.

I went through weeks of treatment too. I loved the staff. I was heartbroken when I found out I had 2 more treatments, but I’ll tell ya. Those women made a scary, heartbreaking situation almost like a party. The vast majority of care givers in this country are so wonderful. They may not have gone through what we did or are, but dangummit, it seems like they have. The human touch from a stranger is something I cannot describe when facing breast cancer.
That is awful! I don’t have anything to do with my remaining family, so in my case that would not be surprising, but your family’s denial must have really hurt. You are a strong one!

2 years old and was not posted in our Lynn’s Blog.
The first blog hit here in April.
it was a local blog to the area the NJ housewives live in associated with a newspaper – Ashley was all over it defending the wives prior to the show beginning. People were trashing them and it was boringly tedious but funny in a way knowing what we know now. Everyone used the handle anonyomous except Ashley used her name once.
Actually the blog not local to NJ at all. Not associated with a newspaper either.
It was just a blog on the net that mentioned a new RH show in NJ when word got out that there would be one. Evidently NJ folks were active with the google, looking for mention of the show, found that blog and then had a free for all. Classic case of “anonymous” calling out another “anonymous.” Nuts. At least Ash used her name.
TY Wall Street Lady for posting Ashley’s comment… It seems that she was already the same lazy excuse of teenager we all saw in further episodes… I pity her as well as Jaq… Talking about immature people!

Bothered the HELL out of me. And let me tell you why. You may not understand this, you may think it is an innocent comment. But this is a common “myth” within our race. And trust me IT IS A MYTH! Don’t be fooled. However, Black people-men and women are often times over sexualized in the media and reduced to their body parts. They have been for years. Take Sara Baartman for instant. Please look her up and read about her and how her body parts were put on display for the enjoyment of others who have never saw a behind and vagina and breasts like her’s. It is offensive.

From what I recall she was the daughter of a slave, & injured during childbirth. She needed her fissure repaired. The doctor (curiously, the doctor who attended the birth), proceeded to experiment on her and degrade her in painful ways. Wow HD, thank you for teaching me about Sara Baartman. Growing up in NY in the 1970’s a white child I now find that much of my black history knowledge is lacking & I do honestly like to read about it & learn & I feel it respects my friends who sat with me in school & were taught predominately just white history. They never spoke Dr.Kings name in my grammar, middle or HS…how sad is that !!!?!!! What beautiful words I missed until my later years; I have a dream for instance should be MANDATORY for all children to hear & I make sure to teach my white daughters this countries black history so they have the entire picture of the growth of this nation, in mind & spirit.
Sara Baartman’s story is sad & fascinating! I found this video on her story below. Warning it is not for the office or children. If you watch please stick with it to the end because it she brings up some very valid points however I think they speak to our female society as a WHOLE in this nation, not just black women but a lesson for white women too, including some in the HW’S franchises.

I looked-up Sara Baartman’s story. Very sad. I got the condensed version on Wiki-pedia. About half-way through I realized that her story reminds me of today’s reality television in so many ways.

THANK YOU! I have been saying for a while that reality TV reminds me so much of her story. A lot of people make that connection. It is really sad. So much of the advertising, the media, so much women in GENERAL are equated to body parts but Black people truly have a history of this like we are some sex crazed people with huge Mandigo members and other body parts just waiting to have sex 24 hours a day.

If you look up Human Rights–you will see that the Republicans are the ones – during Reconstruction-after the Civil War, that did the 14th (think) amendment – Equal Rights for everyone. This lasted (the Nadir) until the start of WWII–and finally in the 1960’s–we got “civil rights”. We still have Sundown Towns–all over this nation…We need to get over this ….. we are all just human.

I think this myth persists, in part, because it is embraced by many African-American men…which isn’t exactly surprising I guess. I mean, given the choice, most males would prefer to be seen as sexually impressive & powerful than be thought of as small and (probably) unable to satisfy. Just as an FYI, there’s a pretty good book by Scott Poulson-Bryant (IIRC it’s called “Hung”) that’s devoted to just this subject.
Trojan’s “Magnum” condom sales are proof of that. I couldn’t tell you how many loose fitting Magnums I’ve encountered in my time. The boyfriend I mentioned in my TMI post upthread tried to act like there wasn’t a condom that could fit him and therefore we should forego them learned a little lesson from me. I’m no fool, Howie Mandell has put too many condoms over his head in the 80’s to ever allow me to buy that lie from a guy. My first encounter with that boyfriend almost didn’t happen because he kept “accidentally” breaking the condom. After the 3rd try, I noticed he was using his thumb to cause the break. He thought I would be a silly girl and allow him to go condom-less but I told him, “I guess it ain’t happening then.” Amazingly, the 4th condom did not break. Nor did any other regular sized condom break the entire time we dated.

I’ve met a guy or two who carry them, implying they are just “too large for regular condoms” but when it was time to do the do, the condom fit like a dish washing glove. Condoms stretch to fit. Male egos cause many men to claim “I need a bigger fit”. Plus Magnums cost several dollars more per box, so Trojan caters to that myth. I had a bff who bragged she had to buy Magnums for her man because he was “too large”. I blew up a regular condom in front of her and asked, “Bigger than this?”

Who constantly says you owe me an apology and then demands one when the other person says they didn’t realize they offended to begin with? If one is actually given then it isn’t enough! She invades personal space and then gets pissy when the person backs away or attempt to get her nasty hands out of their face. If her brains were in her behind then she would be Einstein! But alas they are not so we will be treated to a Teresa on crack season of NeNe noise and nonsense….

I think you’re on to something here. I thought the same thing about Bethenny’s books versus Jill/Luann/Teresa’s. Not too sure on dates here, but I think Bethenny’s first book was already released or already in the works when she joined housewives, so they couldn’t add book proceeds into their contracts.

DAMN!!! I was really looking forward to her deposition.
He was suing her for $5 mil and TMZ says that it was settled to the satisfaction of both parties. Can’t imagine Danielle has anywhere near that money, so what I’m thinking is she may have to publish retractions to what she wrote in her book re him and some kind of a public apology.

“Everything was settled to everyone’s satisfaction” is the phrase I was told to repeat concerning a lawsuit that I brought against a major retailer for discrimination in 2000 and settle out of court. It is a standard non-disclosure clause.
We don’t know details re their settlement. If part of the agreement was to not speak of the settlement, then what you described would apply to them.
In your case, was there anything written in which you agreed to not speak of the case or your settlement? If you didn’t sign off on non-disclosure, then you could yap all you want about your case. There are many other ‘standard’ lines used…
I can only speak of it to a lawyer or accountant “if it is necessary.” A co-worker at the time said to me, “Well it’s a good thing you blabbed about it to everyone already.”
My case was handled by the state of California’s department of fair employment and housing, and the file is as thick as a phone directory. Sometimes I let friends just read the documents ;-). Also, I have a 30″ x 10″ blow up of the settlement check on display in my home office. The home office in the condo I bought with my settlement check 😉
And this company still sends me gift cards for free panties :-), I just can’t ever apply for a position with the company or “speak” of the lawsuit details. “It was settled to everyone’s satisfaction.” Wink Wink!
Depos are hugely expensive so I’m not surprised about this.
He knew when he filed that she didn’t have $5 mil, so his intent wasn’t for money. There are ways for him to get the settlement money (future earnings, her part of the house sale), but that would take forever to total the settlement amount.
I’m sure that whichever way the attorneys were being paid; if contingency, the deposition is factored into the final settlement; if hourly, it’s just added to their hourly fee.
I doubt that the cost of a deposition was the impetus for a settlement on either side.
He probably settled for a small amount out of future earnings and full disclosure of the “truth”. She does have new show so that has to translate into some kind of income. I’m sure his attorneys know he’s just about as skeevie as she is and it would be pretty tough to get a jury to award anything to anyone in a situation like that.
Maher didn’t want to settle because his guns were loaded with more Danielle dirt. Danielle’s atty contacted his atty and they settled on Friday. They signed off on a non-disclosure, so no one’s talking… but someone has to know something! Even though they cannot talk about it, someone’s going to let something leak.
Danielle has been laying low. If her show were a ‘go,’ she would be twittering and blogging about it. Her contract with Bravo makes it very clear that she cannot appear on her own show with any other network until two years after her deal with Bravo expires. She’s screwed.
Usually it’s a three year option, hasn’t she fulfilled it?

Your reply held so much meaning because there is so much of our history that is not taught and Sara Baartman represents so many women as you said, regardless of color. It just so happens that sex is equated A LOT with Black women but all women can benefit from knowing her story. Your comment shows wisdom and understanding and that is what life is all about. I heard the conversation but had no idea Kandi aired it. Did that happen while filming? WOW NeNe must really despise Kandi now.
I heard a radio interview between a male DJ and Gregg where Gregg complained about spending $300K on NeNe to get her on the show and make her famous. Gregg wants his money back. I never thought that anything to do with Kandi. Maybe there is another interview??
Kandi was not the person who released that convo. It started with a recorded phone convo between Gregg and a radio DJ that the Leakes owed a large sum of money to (forgot the amount but at least 5 digits). After months of being blown off over repayment, he played the secret recording on the air. After that, several media outlets replayed it and transcripts were printed on blogs.
I still can’t imagine NeNe being okay with Kandi playing it on her show. Did this happen during filming?

Speaking of Jersey Shore… in my wildest days, I could never have imagined being as skanky as both the men and women are on this show. Before I actually watched it, I thought the show was just about stupid people getting drunk. Well, it’s still about that, but it’s also about the women in the house jumping into bed with their disgusting guy roommates, and the guys lining up women from the clubs for sex, then figuring out how to kick them out of the house afterward, get rid of the “fat” ones (ie those who aren’t borderline anorexic), and on and on. I think Mike “the Situation” is a disgusting pig. How advertisers have picked this guy up to endorse their products is stunning to me. He treats women like used Kleenex and is a total idiot. Not that it matters other than in terms of advertising, but he is also the least attractive of any of the men in the house.
What is most amazing to me is that the Jersey Shore people are still young enough to live with their parents, and it sounds like most of them still do. How do you return home to your parents and family after the entire world has seen you jumping in and out of bed with everyone else, and acting in such a vile way? I couldn’t believe Mike actually was making accusations of Angelina’s infidelity. With the way he lives his life, he’ll be lucky if he isn’t diagnosed with HIV in six months.
While “the Situation’s” rules and musings about women are insulting and sometimes inhuman, the fact that this waste of space continues to find girls to sleep with him tells me he isn’t the entire problem. There is a twisted culture now of young women who have been misguided into thinking sex equals power, but it is an illusion. Soon they find themselves being looked down upon and they realize they are rather powerless after all their exploits. I really feel this era began with Britney Spears and the Spice Girls.
The “sexing up” of young women is unfortunate. This was not supposed to be the end goal of the womens’ movement. The womens’ movement was about not being unfairly judged for one’s choices, such as to live together or put off having kids in favor of a career or simply because you didn’t want to have them. It was not to be judged for working outside the home if you had kids. It was to plan your family and use contraception not to have more kids than you intended. It wasn’t supposed to be the groundwork for young girls becoming amateur strippers sending naked pictures of themselves around, or trying to rack up as many sexual conquests as they could. Nor was the end-goal supposed to be every teenage girl wearing sweatpants with words plastered across the seat of their pants, or jeans so low that thongs and ass cracks are visible in normal circumstances. What happened to women making smart choices and protecting their emotional and physical health?
Our culture seems to have taken what is really sexual addiction, and glamorized it. I think some of these women feel they are nothing unless they can get a guy off, and that that is an accomplishment. Which is just sad.

Having watched the show – they are sadly twisted children/adults but then again they have no goals, no education and do not value themselves as anything but players in their own social system. They do not have jobs, they do not have responsibilities and they don’t seem to have parents who guide them to maturity or teach them to be part of the greater society they will one day be part of…. Why do I watch the show? Because my teenagers do and believe me – they have stronger and more negative opinions of these kids than we do!
Never saw it & never will but my kids are young & not allowed to watch, I told them I get an itemized list from the cable provider on whats being watched & they believe me. AS a young woman growing up on LI & Queens & spending time in Manhattan I avoided those types like the plague, no way would I watch them on tv.
Oh this isn’t like “grab the popcorn, Jersey Shores is on!” – they are 16, 18 and they asked if we could watch it (internet news sparked their interest) – so we did for two episodes, and that was the end of it. JS is an alien world to my guys and I was glad they asked to watch it so we could discuss it.

I use to watch Real World. Especially seattle, New Orleans and Hawaii. I don’t even know if that show is on anymore.
It’s deeply disturbing to me that the vile, ugly, amoral cast members of this show are looked up to by young people. But I was equally disturbed to learn that between his Jersey Shore & DWTS salaries, his guests appearances and various “endorsement deals,” Mike “The Situation” (who IMO is a dead ringer for Elmer J. Fudd) would be raking in more than FIVE MILLION DOLLARS this year!
I have mixed feelings about it because I feel like women can’t be fully free until they are free sexually as well.
If they want to have one-night stands because THEY want to, then that is their choice.
What I don’t see is much change in the minds of men, and this was demonstrated with that show, where the guys go out and drink and choose a certain kind of girl as a sex toy, while they are looking for a woman who says ‘no’ to settle down with and have kids with. The same madonna/whore myth is in operation, at least among the stupid men, like the ones that are showcased on Jersey shore.
I have never had a satisfying one-night stand, which is why I don’t bother with them. I’m talking male or female, it has never done a thing for me. But that’s me, and if other women are different, then good for them. If young women today know their bodies well enough to be satisfied that way, then I believe that is healthier than holding on to ‘virginity’ until marriage when the male is not also required to do so and when they may not find satisfaction in the marital sex either. They may be sexually incompatible and not find out until it is too late and they have a marriage contract.
I don’t think sexual freedom for women is a bad thing, as long as it is true freedom and society isn’t bringing some forced sexualization to bare on them.
Young women today do have to compete with a ridiculous amount of internet porn and that can add pressure. It’s hard to look at what is going on and know if they feel freer than my generation did or if they are acting out of cultural dictates. Women are sexual by nature, it’s ironic to me that in each generation women model themselves after icons whose sexuality is generally not dictated by an inner voice buy by financial concerns. What seems to be about sex is really about making money for the pros that become famous, it’s all about the benjamins so to speak and not about sex at all. Or in more puritanical years, about finding a breadwinner by appearing chaste. It never seems to be purely about female sexual desire.
I thought the visitors would be back today. It takes a lot of effort to keep that kind of thing going and they do have appointments at the spa. It’s takes a long time to blow out long hair.

Wondering about the multiple personality troll attack last night….Rainbows struck me as someone who is an adult who knew/is related to the NJ families – it is a small town and people talking about other people is a pasttime. When someone make it out of that small town/place (via education, career, marriage, etc) there is resentment towards that individual. IMO the tidbits about Albert being bisexual and Tommy having a love child were what set the troll attack off. The whole calling Rainbow’s parents, talk of attorneys really made me think of Iron Hand Caroline! I don’t think Caroline was the troll(s) but then again she never does her own dirty work!!
Everyone was so awesome last night in handling these trolls with maturity, tongue n cheek humor and respectful responses – Lynn has a strong family here and I don’t think the troll was prepared for that.

Much of what Rainbow said was pretty common knowledge to the Lynn Fambly. The other stuff she could/would not substantiate so . . . A large grain of salt.
Very true, but I take pretty much everything said by anyone on the internet with a large grain of salt. I’m cynical by nature, but I still stand by my statement that some of the things that Rainbow said resonated with me as being true, while some of the things that long term posters here have said don’t. I just have to go with my gut.
It may not be my business to say so, but having read through the posts of the last few days I would be very careful engaging “over the rainbow”, or whatever his/her moniker is, since that person is seriously throwing out a lot of unconfirmed gossip onto this site and I don’t think it is a good idea to speculate over what he/she is saying.
We have no idea who this person is and what their intention may be, but there is a lot of scurrilous stuff being presented as “fact” by this poster that could lead to some very serious charges against Lynn. This person is posing as someone with an awful lot of “inside” information that may not even be close to the truth. It is very damaging to the people involved and without public knowledge I question the veracity of what and why is being said and who is making those claims.
The best reminder may be to think of “Tweet Maxine” who makes claims with very little substance.

It was in her initial postings. I questioned her repeatedly and she backed down very quickly about it. Very, very dangerous accusations to make against businessmen with wives and children, who have to make a living in their community. Not to mention they are being accused of something criminal with nothing to back it up. Innuendo is a very scary thing, and could really damage both of their reputations.

Charges of sexual misconduct that has never been part of a public record, and citing them on a blog is not a public record btw, can be taken as slanderous. It is one thing to comment on the behavior exhibited during the series, or if the public is aware of lawsuits via public disclosure, but to throw out charges of this nature can lead to some serious consequences.
Taken what is written on another blog and embellishing it for the sake of appearing to have “inside information” is not cool.
Simply writing something repeatedly does not make it so.

I first came to this site in the middle of the “sympathy card” campaign. There are people out in cyberspace who misunderstood what was going on and now call this site “crazy” and think Lynn is similiar to PizzaGirl and TweetMaxine. I once got into it with someone on another site who was obsessed with her hatred of this blog. This person now cyberstalks me and regularly copies and pastes my comments here onto another blog and describes my avatar whenever I change it to let me know she is watching me. What she is getting out of stalking me is a mystery. My point is someone with bad intentions could take what is posted on here, attribute it directly to Lynn and try to bring legal involvement to her.

Unless they have nothing else to do in their law practice as this would suck time out of their life for an unprecendented result; unless the poster has written something so outlandish, disgusting and detrimental to the life of the subject of the post that it would result in their suffering mentally or bodily harm came to them because of the post. The rules of libel and slander still apply to a blog. Since social media is evolving, the laws are changing rapid fire. Do you really want to be part of a landmark legal case? But basically…this is harmful speech. It can harm the person it is directed at, and could harm the owner of the blog. Just because you think it doesn’t mean you should say it or write it. If it can be substantiated with source documents (as per the legal documents re: Guidice, Ladybug, Manzo, ect) or cited with a reputable media source, or from their own blog/twitter, it is just an unsubstantiated rumor. Oh, and put your real name on it!
If you still really feel compelled to scream rumors, get an anonymous Twitter account and scream it to the world.

Totally agree – it was gossip/rumor without the factual backup we deal in. I would be surprised if Rainbow came back but it is a given that the troll will follow and dog her because that is sadly their MO.
As for trouble coming Lynn’s way – she has no part in what drive by posters do and it really was a bit disconcerting to have that happen here. Those of us who were here when it happened knew it was for their benefit/enjoyment not ours and they were called out respectfully and continuously – this isn’t the blog environment they would be interested in or accepted in.
They are public people. In a nutshell, they would have to prove that Lynn and Lynn’s posters wrote with the intent of malice and then they (HW) could sue for defamation (good luck with that!). They would have to prove a LOT to proceed with suing someone who made their opinion known or is stating (to their knowledge) a fact. Lynn would also have to have known that the poster was going to write their post and HER intent was malicious. There is a ton of rigamarole and case law would have to be sited as this is new territory and laws are constantly changing.
So, there are many blogs that write much, much worse things about RHONJ, much worse than Lynn’s site and none of them have yet to be sued. You all can take what you will from this… I’m just sayin’ and I’m going to keep writing.
For public figures as I understand it, one must show not only malice, but also that the person(s) knowingly and intentionally promulgated false info with intent to defame.

I apologize if someone already addressed this, since I can’t find it. But what is up with Jeana saying Allan is her “chef” when he is clearly the guy she was dating on RHOC who supposedly lived in Arizona? And they said she wasn’t seeing him anymore? He supposedly had a lot of money as well, so did he move from Arizona to live with her? I can’t believe she is actually paying him to be a chef for her. Or was he a chef who pretended to be her boyfriend? That whole scenario is as fake and suspect as the house they claimed was Slade’s house on “Date My Ex”, which Bravo clearly rented to stage the show.
She lives alone and goes out all of the time so I don’t think he is her chef. She had finacial problems with her mortgage and had to beg the government for help in decreasing her monthly payment. She probably is hiding her financail problems. I know that Kara said something about having to work her way through school so Jeana must not be giving her money. Oh, the house gets rented out for weekend weddings. I’m thinking of having a wedding there and inviting everyone. 3 days… bring a swim suit.

I guess I’m a little confused also but for different reasons. Wouldn’t a chef be able to prepare calorie controlled meals for Jeanna? I kicked started my weight loss journey a few years ago by doing Nutrisystem. Most diet plans like Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, and E-diets count your calories and only allow the minimum for your gender. Why isn’t her chef/cook preparing 1200-1500 calorie daily meal plans for her? Seems simple to me.
She made a joke about her boyfriend/chef eating all of the food. His stomach is rather large. Jackie Warner was taken in when she was told he was her chef too. It’s the same guy from Arizona whose son played baseball with Jeana oldest son. He wore cowboy boots and brought her roses in a limo for the date at the St. Regis Hotel. He was supposed to be wealthy, but with Jeana’s ability to lie might have been a local fry coat with a talent for fried twinkies.
Jeana has been doing poorly and it’s now week five. I think she told her daughter is was six pounds down when they were having mani pedis. The exercise and diet is designed for her to lose 5 lbs per week. She’s drinking and eating junk. We will see the results of her lie detector test tonight.
The chef/boyfriend should be able to cook for her, but no one can control what goes into your mouth.
She’s really not that heavy. I think she’s in the 160’s and is 5’6″.
She wants to return to being a playboy centerfold, but I don’t think that will be easy.
IMO Jeanna didn’t really want to be on this show – but she needs some income and will get paid even if she doesn’t lose any weight. When Jackie confronted her on the coconut shrimp and champaign – Jeanna was lying like a rug and about as sincere as the cat that ate the canary.
I’m 5’5″ and fluctuate between 150-160 lbs. I wear a 6-8 and nowhere NEAR as fluffy as Jeanna. Did you see my avatar with the vinyl pants showing off my midsection? The screen say she is 168lb, but she looks to be over 200lbs. I know she is apple shaped, but at 5’6″ 130-160 lbs is a normal weight range. Why does she look so blocky? If she is only 10-15lbs overweight (for t.v.) , why does her belly stick out further than her breasts? I know, skinny arms and legs, large mid-section. But the person I see on screen and her alleged weight do not match up. Why lie?
It’s funny as I was thinking the same thing the other night. I am in the same range as you which led me to think one of a few things:
1) I must look a hell of a lot worse than I think I do
2) TV puts on more than the 15 lbs they say
3) She is lying about how much she weighs

As we age, fat goes to the abdomen. She has a lot of fat under her chin and in her arms also. I think she probably has a small frame like Bethenny Frankel who at the same height and weighs 115 lbs. I think that was Jeana’s weight at the time of her Playboy shoot in the 80’s too.
I think years of dieting and menopause have affected Jeana.
We are all built differently too, in that we all carry weight different. I’m 5’10” and feel I look good at about 170. I have a friend the same height who could easily go 200 and look much better than me. I’m short waisted and long legged, she is more evenly proportioned.

She doesn’t show up for court for this accusation.
Now $1800 in legal fees later the kid fails a drug test for pot from his probation officer& goes to jail for 10 days.All along he was subjected to surprise parole officer directed police searched for drugs & weapons. Officers took all household knives some sharp tools & his Bow & arrow (family had already put the sport guns at the parents home)

Whether we think it’s worthy of legal action or not, some upstart attorney who wants to make a name for him/herself could cause a scene. It would be a high profile case and command a lot of attention. It wouldn’t matter how much cash the Manzo’s have, the attorney could do it simply for the press.
I think that the person that posts the questionable content is held liable, not the person who runs the blog. If they receive a notice from an attorney to delete something most of the time they do from what I have seen on political sites.
This comment may seem out of left field, but I was going through old bookmarks and I see that one of them is the webpage of Alma Daniel, the officiant for Bethenny and Jason’s wedding. I never said anything at the time, I don’t think, but was anyone else mystified as to why Bethenny chose such an oblivious dingbat for her officiant? Was she looking for someone to play “straight man” to her comic stylings? Ms. Daniel was like Aunt Clara on Bewitched, constantly bumbling and oblivious to what was going on. The woman gave kind of a blank look as B was crying her eyes out, and was just going to keep asking questions I guess, even if B had been writhing on the floor. Daniel never changed her expression once. They had to ask her, can we have a minute? Then, at the ceremony, she was deadpan, “you can’t kiss her yet,” and it seemed like everyone was in on the joke but her. There are so many people you can find to officiate, I just had no idea why they would pick this woman.

IIRC Bethenny didn’t do this part of the wedding planning – Jason took care of the license and the officiant. Bethenny got something from the interview with her because she cried and it was the the beginning of her thinking that where she had no family Jason’s family would soon be her family.

It is a nasty way to try & control information. Many boards & forums that I have seen that have managed to survive this kind of attack, very simply place a disclaimer on their site. Its up to Lynn at this point as far as I know if she wants to do any editing, but allowing the whole thing to play out actually gave us all a chance to realize that whoever it was definitely had some personal motive or agenda. We’re grown-ups & we can decide what we want to believe or not, although there are some particular nasty allegations about minors being tossed-about, that personally, I think should be blacked-out, or deleted. Although, once again, the fact that youngsters who are put into the public-arena by their parents are unfortunately subject to being discussed by the public.
We don’t know who these people are, their ages, their connection to the “Manzo Family & Friends” or their motivation for playing their game on this site. We were innocent bystanders to the LOUD ONES and IMO they were really after Rainbow not us. It was like hearing the fire sirens getting closer and closer and passing us on the way to the call…we were not attacked for anything we said but for simply being here. Guessing it was a weird weekend in Franklin Lakes and we got the blow back from it.

The moderator-police-partypooper Strega claimed the NY posts were “off topic” around the time of Amazongate and suddenly shut down the NY pages. Most of the allegedly off topic comments were about Jill’s despicable behavior and (to me) were discussing matters seen on the show.
That was (sort of) how Lynn’s I Hate Jill Zarin board was born.
I remember that. In my opinion, Jill threatened a lawsuit so TWOP complied and shut the board down.
Didn’t Lauri and George from OC also threaten to sue if Bravo didn’t take a MB down. I remember reading that somwhere.
Eh, Bravo’s own RHONY messageboard members talked about whatever they wanted, including Amazongate, without any interruption whatsoever.
I think bd closure had more to do with TWOP’s own famously strict and bizarre moderation practices (and bd shut downs) rather than any fear of litigation. If the latter were true, Bravo’s own site (bravotv.com) would also have restricted speech and it didn’t.
TVWOP is also run by Bravo. Strega the moderator has rules posted that the posts have to be about the show and nothing else. When “Amazongate” broke everyone on TVWOP were posting about it. It was closed soon after and never reopened.

My Mom loves that song. When nappster was just starting and sharing music was thought of just like sharing a record with your friend, my Mom collected Jambalaya in every language she could get her hands on. I think the funniest version was in Chinese, she has a CD that is back to back Jambalaya in all kinds of languages and you would think it would get tiresome to listen to it, but it just gets so silly you can’t get the smile off your face.

My first post was about the Bishop scandal. I met a teenager a while back on 42 and 8th in Manhatthan asking for money. She started telling me about her past that she was abuse by her step father,and the Bishop .She tried telling her counselors and others about the Bishop.
She went telling me that society,and everyone who was close to her looked down on her because, she spoke up about the Bishop. At the time I had no idea who Bishop long was, when the teen told me her story. I doubted her in mind by saying. Oh she’s just another bum in Manhatthan.
When the scandal broke about the same Bishop that teenager told me about. My mind immediately went back to her. It made me think that sometimes when others tell their life story. It can indeed be a cry for help. And where location I met that teen it’s at the Port Authority station and is very much a drug and prostitute haven for those teens once they exit those Greyhound service system.
I wanted to clear that up for some of the posters who were confused about my posting of the Bishop. I saw some of you wrote that I knew her when we were teenagers. After writing that on Saturday I said excuse my typos,because I was typing from my iPhone

The auction has been called off indefinitely. That is direct from the auction house, AJ Wilner on Sept 30. Why? Because I signed up to participate in the auction and wanted to know what’s going on, so I called them.

The lady is in a wheelchair now.She won a sizable settlement but ofcourse was never paid.Joe thought so little of the action he didn’t even show up in court.
I have spoken with her and she fell because the stairway is unlit and filled with trash and often wet.When Joe was ordered to bring the building up to code all he did was fix the steps and the light fixture in the entry.The first floor is the only one with lights in the halls.
Joe can never own another Sec8 housing unit.
The tenents were court ordered to pay a collection agency their rents but Joe still harrasses and threatens them for not paying him.
I was also told he would threaten to have Teresa beat them bragging about how tough she is.

Speculating but seriously thinking that due to all the hidden assets, lying etc on their part – the case is being reevaluated because of new information. No way did they ever qualify for Chap 7 and no way could they have amassed that amount of debt on the stated income! Such a thing (denial of bankruptcy protection) would be for the judge to declare, not the trustee. The trustee is appointed by the court to serve a function for the court; he does not supercede the authority of the court/judge.
I don’t understand that article, it makes out like money is going back to the family. I thought the auction was going to be held to raise money to pay the creditors since the items are part of a bankruptcy. I know the lawyer is lying through his crooked teeth, it’s what he’s paid to do…but People has a bit of a reputation online for being a source that is somewhat trustworthy compared to most other online sources. There are some stories I have followed that have been given credence or shot down just based on what People has posted online. Both the Republican and Democrat parties have strayed so far from their roots that whatever they did during the civil war is irrelevant. Both parties are now in the business of staying in power, period. Neither party tells the truth or lives up to it’s promises.
As for the Presidents birth certificate there is no guessing involved by us or a monkey’s uncle. Barack Hussein Obama II was born in Hawaii, a copy of his birth certificate was made available and verified authentic.
The original document is on file at the Health Dept. This has been confirmed by both Hawaiian Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino and Alvin Onaka, who is the registrar of vital statistics who both reviewed the original document. The proof has been offered again and again. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with this or any president but do it based on real issues not baseless accusations against his right to be president.

In the south, which you are supposedly from (right?) it is very humid. African American hair tends to frizz in humid weather so as a result, all the hottest new short cuts come from the south. When I was a hairdresser, all the hairstyle books had sections. A long section, medium length section, updo’s, etc. Every short style was from a southern salon or southern stylist. Two years ago the “Fauxhawk” was all the rage. What you see in Kandi and NeNe are variations of that theme. 😉

What is going on with Ramona? For some time I’ve wondered if she is having a problem with menopause and hyperthyroidism. The hyperhydrosis with botox underarm injection treatment and the very wide open eyes. At the fashion show the bug eyes? She seems almost hyper, especially when she jumps up speaking emotionally and very fast (as during the reunion when she jumped up and was pointing her finger at Jill, etc). I’ve actually wanted to tell her to be checked by her doctor for possible problem with hormones.

I’ve had serious concerns about Ramona from the beginning. Eye like that, no filter, laughing one minute and crying the next, etc. It all seems “not quite right”.
I know someone who is the same way. She’s not on adderall but has a very high metabolism and cannot sit still. She’s hyperkinetic. Her child is the same way. This person cannot drink caffeine as it overstimulates her. She is constantly jumping up, talks fast, and knocks things over with her abrupt movements. It’s just the way she’s wired. She can go from happy to spiteful in two seconds flat.
I would be interested in seeing Ramona in person. Some peoples eyes react badly to the lights from the cameras. I have a friend who is a local news anchor. His eyes look like that when I see him on TV but not in person.
Looooooong day. I rushed to get done to watch Atlanta. I’m so glad I didn’t miss Kim telling the world that she’s been chasing dick since she came out of the womb and watching her daughter eating with food spitting from her mouth.

From a business perspective I would say the lawyer ; for fun I like Kim. I admire the way she forgives NeNe & moves on. I like the way she loves to laugh. I don’t understand why Andy picked on her at the reunion. But even that she took in stride like a “professional”.
I liked NeNe a little more tonight. She seemed more human. She admitted she has anger problems.
I’m not loving the lawyer, seems VERY full of herself, and judgemental of others.
Kandi is still my rave fave. And of course Kim is my secret alter ego.

Sheree didn’t irritate me as much as usual. Could it be that NJ and DC has worn me down and that these ladies seem like saints in comparison?
I noticed that Sheree doesn’t look as tranny-like as she has in past seasons. She looks softer. And yeah, I think after NJ, the trash bar has been set higher, so now these women seem like utter lambs in comparison (well…). Then again it’s the first episode, so hopefully (I love good trash) it will get better (read: trashier).
I think Candi is more real… the lawyer seems nice as well.

I remember back long years ago when I was watching at 7 or 8 years old, I thought he has gorgeous. I also loved loved loved Liberace. Denied the rumours even back then i didnt care he was handsome as well. When Liberace used to wink, mama and daddy said my sister and I were so smitten we just giggled uncontrollably. Those two men had talent, nothing that any of these hw would know anything about.
My grandmother was a pianist and she would get irate everytime she saw Liberace. She instited that his form was horrid and that no real pianist would lift their arms like he does. But she’d tune in every week!
Liberace certainly was not a classically trained pianist! He was a chord style player with a lot of entertainment flair.

She may dislike tweeters (and in her defense some are mean) but tweeting and being on the RHONJ is how she promotes her charity and for that she just has to suck it up and remain professional. It only hurts her charity to become combative when asked questions.

In my late 30’s I started having some wrinkles , by that time I went to live to France and found “Sysley” skin cream… MAGIC! there were gone! I am still wearing “Emulsion ecologique” once a day. That’s all! Drinking water and lots of berries, To lower my cholesterol, instead of taking Lipitor who is going to damage my healthy liver,,,, no way!
Why in Heavens a 23 Year old needs Botox? I am talking about KZ… she lost expression in her face! She used to be beautiful in Season 1… How insecure a person could be to go trough unnecessary surgeries to look “better”? She looks empty! What’s with her daughter eating like a 2 Y.old…?

If I am reading this correctly, in the past 9 days Diane Dimond has made approx.
$130.88 from paperbacks and $60 from Kindle, in royalties. Authors normally receive about 15% of Kindle sales, and approx. $4.09 per book sold, but it’s late and and I suck at math so somebody can check my figures.
Since the book is self-published my guess is the Salahis would split the profits with the writer. So even if I tripled these figures (which might be generous), for the first few days the book wasn’t tracked by NovelRank, that means the writer’s share would be no more than $600. Give or take. And she may have to split it with the Salahis. That’s not even white limo gas money.
Bet the author they were interviewing on the show was happy he dodged the “War, Wine and Roses” bullet.
And in an off note, my dog, who has been laying under my feet the entire time I was looking all this up, needs a good butt washing. He stinks and my eyes are watering. phew!

Agree! I work with college students and like to adopt some of their slang. They think it’s funny that this “old” teacher (57 too) is trying to talk like them. But I get their attention and keep them laughing. To my mind, there is no sense letting ourselves get old and molder. Better to keep up with life and have fun living it.

HD – Your poem was beautiful and very moving. You have real talent. I also was touched by your post concerning the objectification of African Americans as oversexualized. I had a class once on Race Relations in America. The professor made the same points. There are several ways these myths came about but they all revolved around the idea that African slaves were unable to control themselves sexually because they were more animal than human. Which soothed the consciences of “good Christian” slaveowners. We learned about Sarah Baartman in that class. What a heartbreaking story.Thank you for reminding me of it and calling it to the attention of everyone here.

I am sad that a horrible but important lesson about Sara’s tragic treatment & life was followed by words that hurt & angered u.I felt so grateful to have learned of her story. As I know I will remember it all my life.
I still hope ur wise & fun input won’t leave.
