I Hate Jill Zarin Monday News Sept 20, 2010

I Hate Jill Zarin            Happy Monday!   Sept 20, 2010

Happy Monday and a huge BOOOO to Bravo, another Monday with no original programming, they will be re-running episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta from last season all evening. There isn’t any good reason why they couldn’t have begun the new season of the Atlanta crew this week other than that they’re waiting for rating sweeps in October to debut their top rated Housewives series. Shame on you Bravo!

Stacie Turner of The Real Housewives of DC posted her blog on Bravotv.com and takes a page and a half berating and abusing the Salahi’s. Stacie explains that she and her husband gave Michaele and Tariq the benefit of the doubt when they first met and actually enjoyed spending time with them in Paris and at their winery. I think Stacie and Jason got their first glimpse of the real Salahi’s when Tariq decided to attack Mary’s daughter through is wine-induced drunken ranting at the winery. We also watched last week as Stacie took the Salahi’s house hunting but it appears as though Bravo may have aired some scenes out of order as I believe the house hunting was prior to the winery debacle.

Stacie briefly mentions the Facebook plan to befriend her half-brother despite her biological mother’s wishes. Stacie leads us to believe there is more to come on this story, I was happy to hear that she did give her mother props for making the difficult decision to give birth to Stacie and giving her up for adoption. The woman has really taken a beating in the press, even though I don’t believe anyone has uncovered her identity at this point, I’m sure she’s paying attention regardless. The woman could be living in fear that the show will eventually “out” her as Stacie’s mother and potentially affect her real life.

If the DC franchise has done nothing else, it has certainly brought up a lot of discussions about many different issues that are important to many people. From race discussions, political debates, gay rights and adoption protection, DC has been a jumping off point for some heated debates. Nothing short of absurd, the discussion now about whether or not Michaele Salahi is suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, if nothing else, is bringing this disease to the forefront and providing a lot of opportunities for people to talk about what living with this means to them and how it has affected their lives. If this woman is lying about having this disease, she should be publically flogged!

Here is an excellent post from a regular poster to this blog: Had Enough!:

Mike Carson, writing on Andrea Rogers’ blog about Salahi’s claim to have MS, is just brilliant (and you could substitute Giudice for Salahi and have basically the same story, minus the claim to a disease):
Earlier this week, perennial famewhores Tareq and Michaele Salahi took to the couches of Fox and Friends to make the “exclusive” announcement that Michaele is not suffering with anorexia but battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Leave it to Michaele to come up with yet another ridiculous explanation to mask the obvious, and bonus points to her for being clever in choosing a disease whose initials are the same as her own – it’s easier to remember that way.

The intriguing element to Michaele’s interview is not in what she says, but what she doesn’t say. Watch the interview again and pay very close attention:

For those of you with sharp ears you’ll notice that Michaele never once says that she actually has MS, neither does Tareq. Don’t believe me? Read the transcript:

Gretchen Carlson: I said at the beginning of the interview that Michaele had a major announcement to make exclusively here on “Fox and Friends”, and we’re gonna do that right now. It has to do with your health. One of the other controversies surrounding you is that some of the other Housewives on the show say you’re too thin. What would you like to make the announcement about today?

Michaele Salahi: You know I am uh… don’t deal with anorexic, I’m not an anorexic and um… I’ve never had an eating disorder. But one thing I have kept a secret is for seventeen… (chokes up and stops speaking)
Diane Dimond: This is very emotional for Michaele.
Michaele Salahi: …This is… (pained expression, on the verge of tears, stops speaking again)
Gretchen Carlson: I’m sorry…
Diane Dimond: Can I jump in?
Gretchen Carlson: Yes.
Diane Dimond: For seventeen years Michaele has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. And when I watch “The Real Housewives of DC” and I see this story line (note: at this point Michaele perks up, no tears or traces of tears in her eyes and smiles at Tareq) of them, picking on her frankly – there’s always got to be some one in those casts they pick on and it just happens to be Michaele – “Oh, she’s anorexic. Oh, we have to have an intervention” it keeps the storyline flowing but unfortunately it’s not true. Just like it wasn’t true that they were gatecrashers. She has Multiple Sclerosis.

Michaele Salahi: So I can talk now, sorry Gretchen, I had to get that… (gestures with hands)
Gretchen Carlson: I understand.
Michaele Salahi: This is the first time I’ve said it publicly. You know my own family, my cousins, a lot of the people dearest to me, my best friend just found out. So it’s something that I kept personal. Uh… and I think a lot of people do with chronic illnesses or, you know, any kind of disease. Whether it’s heart… whatever you deal with. You know, breast cancer. So for me I kept it personal because I never wanted to be judged, never wanted to have pity, and um… I certainly wanted to hold on to my job. And I think, you know, we’re making strides in America every year. But maybe at this time, with the White House and everything that took place, maybe all this happened for a reason and I can do something good to help someone else.
Tareq Salahi: And you know, one thing that Michaele, you know, I’m very proud of Michaele, you know, coming out talking about this, but instead of running and keeping your head in the sand, you know, stay out there, live a life, do whatever. You can have a job.
Michaele Salahi: Because you can have a great life.
Tareq Salahi: You can have a great life.
Michaele Salahi: Yeah, many people do.
Gretchen Carlson: Many people would be shocked to find that out today. Michaele we hope that your health continues heading in the right direction.
Michaele Salahi: Thank you.
Gretchen Carlson: And we appreciate you telling your story on “Fox and Friends” today Michaele and Tariq. (Gretchen shakes their hands) And Diane Dimond (shakes her hand), my congratulations on the book, “Cirque du Salahi”.

And there you have it, the art of the con in play-by-play format. The lies are obvious but the execution is subtle. Michaele and Tareq have successfully convinced people of the MS claim by never uttering the words themselves. Instead they manipulated (through Michaele’s faked breakdown) Diane Dimond to speak the words and provide the timeline (Michaele just said seventeen, she never said what the measurement was) in a public forum. Once Diane provided the details, Michele perked right up and was as chirpy as a canary on coke while describing her illness in extremely general and vague terminology. She could be speaking of ANY disease yet because we, the audience, heard Diane say that Michaele has MS we believe the lie or at least believe that Michaele made the claim when in reality she didn’t – not on camera anyway. Tareq was also careful to follow the same formula as Michaele when delivering his additional statements about her condition.

As far as we know there are no witnesses, no evidence and no documentation of the claim. Obviously SOMEBODY told Diane Dimond and Gretchen Carlson that Michaele Salahi has MS, but whom we’re not sure as that conversation happened off camera. Without any recorded evidence Tareq and Michaele haven’t technically made any false claims – it’s a minor technicality but important – which leaves them free to claim later that Michaele has a different disease or that they never said Michaele has MS and still technically be telling the truth. You Real Housewives fans out there might remember that Kim Zolciak from Atlanta pulled a similar stunt on the first season reunion show when talking about the mysterious illness that caused her hair to fall out.

It’s brilliant and sick – classic sociopathic behavior – but this is how the art of the con works. A masterful con artist convinces people of the ensnaring lie through detail association and implied meaning rather than direct statement. This enables them to play off a person’s natural tendency to assume and thus create a scenario that the con artist can take advantage of. If pressed about certain details, the con artist can always fall back on the true statement of “I never said that” because in reality they never did, they merely planted pieces of information next to each other that the target logically assembled into the story the con artist wanted them to believe.

Don’t assume however that con artists are above flat out lying, as Michaele and Tareq have so aptly demonstrated – con artists do lie. The ideal method for conning people is to make them fall for the aforementioned technique of deception by logic. When called out on details that were said the con artist will then claim that they never made those claims and that you assumed and jumped to conclusion. In most cases this will make you doubt yourself and be even more vulnerable to the con artist’s next lie because they are now playing on your embarrassment. You’ll pay extra close attention this time so as not to make the same mistake again, not seeing that they will replay the first deceptive routine only this time adding more details and drawing you in further. It’s in this second stage that they are often the most successful in gaining whatever it is that they want out of you. If you still persist in nailing a con artist on details, they will then result to direct lying and verbal evasion as a way of getting out of the situation.

It’s important to recognize these types of subtle cons as they happen all the time in our everyday lives. You don’t have to be a socialite or television personality to encounter people like Tareq and Michaele. Con artists are everywhere from work to personal relationships. Their individual motivations vary but their goal is the same: to take advantage of you as a means of personal gain – be it financially or otherwise.
With regard to Michaele and her “illness,” she doesn’t suffer from MS (Multiple Sclerosis), she suffers from NS (No Shame). In her case it’s the special form of NS known as “Salahi Syndrome” in which the sufferer is incapable of feeling any shame while living in a constant state of hyper delusion and malnourishment. There is unfortunately no cure for “Salahi Syndrome” and what’s even more unfortunate is that while a terminal disease, those suffering from it have a normal life expectancy. The outcome is that these unfortunate blights on society continue to roam free bringing irritation and illegitimacy to all those they make contact with. Way back in the 1800′s people suffering from diseases like “Salahi Syndrome” would have been confined permanently to institutions as a means of protecting them and society. In Tareq and Michaele’s case that is a system that needs to be brought back ASAP!

Had Enough, thank you for sharing that with us.

I just want to take a moment to congratulate former New Jersey housewife, Dina Manzo on her new hobby, creating YouTube videos ala Kelly Bensimon. Dina apparently has confirmed with her attorney’s that she doesn’t need her ex-husband’s written approval to allow her daughter to appear on internet videos. Dina has informed us that she has a lot to share with viewers and so far we’ve learned how to bedazzle pumpkins and Styrofoam flying bats and ghosts to make Halloween decorations. Notice she mentions a few times that she didn’t actually make any of those things lying around her house. I just can’t wait to see what she’s got in store for us at Christmas. Dina’s videos:

Dina’s daughter, Lexi was ill last week and I’m happy to report she is better now but please Dina, don’t tweet photos of your daughter lying in a hospital bed, ok? Thank you for not turning her illness into a YouTube video.

Another portion of Caroline’s deposition was released today by TMZ, in it, she states that she gave Bravo an ultimatum about refusing to return to the show if Danielle will be on next season. Which do you think brings more ratings? Danielle or Caroline? Obviously we know that Danielle won’t be on the show any longer, however, I highly doubt that it is due to Caroline’s threat.

Teresa’s youngest daughter turned one year old and Teresa threw a lavish birthday party for the child. While most of us have a backyard fun BBQ or enjoy guests in our own home, that isn’t good enough for the Giudice’s and their hidden money that is burning a hole in their pockets. An elaborate birthday cake, another ridiculous outfit on the poor child and the balloon artist are just a few of the photos that were tweeted by guests at the party, including Dina Manzo, Godmother extraordinaire.

http://plixi.com/p/46059364

Jacqueline Laurita added from the bash this tweet:

JacLaurita: We are having fun at Audriana’s 1st Birthday party. Elmo has arrived!!!!
JacLaurita: Kids in bed sleeping, Chris and I have down time…..YAY!!!!

I’m glad that Jacqueline enjoyed Elmo and spends her downtime with her husband tweeting.

A new rumor is going around that Melissa Gorga will NOT be part of the New Jersey Housewives Season three as had been previously rumored. She did tweet that she attended Teresa’s baby’s 1st Birthday Party and has been tweeting photos of her family as well. You can follow Melissa on Twitter @Melissa_Gorga

Kelly Bensimon had a busy weekend, she had a yard sale with her daughters and apparently fans of The Spin Crowd (yes both of them) caught a glimpse of Kelly on that show. I simply cannot watch that show after the first episode I watched that moron try to force one of his employees to get her lips pumped full of fat to make them fuller. These people reinforce every negative stereotype of Hollywood and then add some more.

Kelly’s yard sale was hosted by Georgica Creek Antiques in the Hamptons with the proceeds going to local charities, the East Hampton Library and Long Island Harvest. Kelly tweeted constantly all day long with photos of her children as well as the regular photos of herself.

I have a few teenagers in my life, they love to take photos of themselves and post them on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. They’re forever using mirrors or friends to snap each other in every pose, making sure only the ones that make them look great get posted. I laugh at them because they’re teens and that’s what teens do.

It’s also what Kelly Bensimon does. The difference is that she pays someone to snap the photos and forward them onto Twitter or Facebook. A 42 year old woman is, once again, behaving like a teenager. Her own daughter doesn’t even do this stuff! What is wrong with this woman? Granted many of the housewives do this to an extent, but Kelly posts dozens of photos of herself, every moment of her life is captured on film and posted for the world to see.

Kelly’s brilliant idea of hosting a YouTube site and posting videos of herself, she has an entire catalogue of useless and brainless videos for your viewing pleasure.

Never to be silenced, Jill Zarin continues to tweet just in case we forget she exists:

@jillzarin Congrats to @JonathanCheban and @SimonHuck On another great episode. Loved it!

@JillZarin I know them. Lucy and ethel! @JonathanCheban RT @MimisGirl1 @Jillzarin i don’t get that Jonathan? I See a lot of u housewives and the khardashians r loving the show? What am I missing?

Jill had to explain to a fan why Jill and others enjoy this ridiculous show, well that clears it up Jill, she knows them folks, that is why she likes the show! What other reason could there be? More of Jill’s tweets:

Don’t forget to watch @ramonasinger on hsn tomorrow. Good luck mama!

I just dropped @AllyZarin off at school. Won’t see her for a while. Ginger had a good run on lawn there! Run Ginger run!

Yes Ginger, run as fast as you can away from the crazy lady! Some tweets from the famous dog:

Ginger Zarin: Don’t forget your Susan Saunders nametag & crate for Amazon reviewer cat theft opportunities ~> RT “@mdob216: dressing up as @jillzarin and bringing a bottle of @bethenny ‘s skinny girl marg tonight for a real housewives themed party! =)”

Ginger Zarin: Ooooo snap! Mommy thinks she’s A list! ~> RT “@Jessica90110: Just saw @jillzarin and she wouldnt take a pic with me.”

Ginger Zarin: I typed the cops on myself saying I defecated in public– hoping they will imprison me. Oh the freedom! Been waiting by the door

I can never get enough of Ginger..the typing dog who really needs to be rescued from the big bad evil Jill Zarin.

Lynn – I have a bone to pick with you! This is my only day off this week and I have so much to do. Then you go and post a new blog! How am I going to make it to the grocery store, bank, and finish laundry? Highly inconsiderate of you, lol.

Thanks for posting the tweets. I don’t have a twitter account but I love to read the rabid, rantings of the Really Nuts Houswives of Where Everville. I’m with you on the Ginger Zarin love. Too bad JZ doesn’t share her dogs sense of humor.

LOL! She always does this to us!

        Hi Lynn,
Thanks for the new blog and the awesome postings of the tweets, I can tell you that I don’t understand the tweeting at all I don’t know how it all works, does it cost money?? I have to be honest I don’t have a lot of knowledge when it comes to different programs and I know that the tweeting is really becoming the next best thing everyone is doing it, and I dont know how, I thought that my kids would know all about it but I was surprised that they don’t so I’m still in the dark on tweeting..

My first comment when I read Caroline not wanting to return for another season if Danielle would be a part of it due to her integrity.. I think it’s interesting to know she thinks she has so much integrity and not have a problem with Teresa, if she continues to hang out with Teresa next season she’s full of crap simple as that….

I have a question also, are the camera’s already rolling on the NJ housewives, I’m thinking if they are it’s probably due to wanting some footage on Joe and Teresa’s situation as well as hopefully filming juicy Joe going off to serve his 10 days.. I would hope that he’s locked up like anyother person would be and doesnt receive any special treatment… I think its great I think they both need to be locked up and I hope they both are convicted of fraud and are locked up for a lot longer than that !!
Also what about the New York ladies are they filming yet?

I’ve run into WAY to many “people” with the Salami Syndrome in varying degrees & different forms of it. Mike Carson’s discription is right on and so identifiable! Actually, the Salamis, IMO, are more on the harmless side because they’re so obvious…it’s the others, the ones who can really work the game undetected that can ultametly cause the most chaos & destruction. There is a song from the 70’s, ‘Smiling Faces’, I can’t remember who does it (at the risk of sounding like a paranoid, schizoid, or any other kind of zoid) I think of this song in my head often. The words are something like ” smiling faces, smiling faces, sometimes…. they don’t tell the truth…no…smiling faces…smiling faces sometimes…they dont’ tell the truth…your enemies can’t do you no harm..cuz you know where their coming from…” ……”don’t let the handshakes and the smiles fool yah, cuz you know that their ONLY tryin’ screw yah” I think that last part was “i’m only tryin’ to school ya” but I like my words better! Does anyone remember this song?
(Oh yah, in the early years, I must have been a magnet for this kind of guy. The face & name changed, manipulation remained the same) BUT NOW I AM FREE!! Married to Mr. Nice Guy after 24 years single to figure it out!

      • WindyCityWondering says:

        Backstabbers by the O’Jays

      • Ellabean says:

        I beg to differ:

“Smiling Faces” was recorded by a grou p called: The Undisputed Truth

But “Backstabbers” (by the O’Jays – you are correct there) and “Smiling Faces” are both great Motown songs!

        • dreemz says:

“The backstabbers…backstabbers” I’m going to be trying to remember the words to this all day, yes, it IS 2 different songs. Music is one thing I thought I would NEVER forget…I’m sure I didn’t burn up the brain cells that held that information, I just misplaced them. lol

  3. Scorpiosue1102 says:

The Salahi’s are the worst kind of con-artists. Michaele Salahi said she didn’t want to lose her job. Ok, that’s a bunch of b.s. Any company of over 50 people has FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) and you have up to 12 weeks(don’t quote me since I’m trying to remember from my old supervisor days) in a 12 month period to take time off from work for an illness and still have a job. It may not be the same job, but you CANNOT lose your job because of an illness. If she was a make-up artist at a major department store (can’t remember which one) then I would be 99% sure that the had FMLA. So again, I call b.s. FMLA has been around since 1993

    • Scorpiosue1102 says:

*** my rant is about her supposed MS

    • OneMoreinBoston says:

Depends. She was employed by Trish McEvoy, and stationed in Nordstroms. If she was a 1099 status, as some makeup artists are (I am for freelance work) then she would be up sh*t creek without the proverbial paddle.

A lot of times, you are on call basis. The store’s Beauty Dept.manager can ask for you personally, but if you’re sick one time too many-you’ll get passed over.

The beauty industry is notorious for breaking all federal employee laws. If you’ve ever had a manicure at a Vietnamese owned nail salon, those women work 14 hr days, 6-7 days per week.

      • tuzentswurth says:

Also, be sure to check online (state licensing board website) if they are actually licensed. They get busted a lot for not being licensed and if they are cutting those corners, who knows what they are doing in the sanitation arena. You can get serious diseases from improperly sterilized instruments there just like a Dr or dental practice……..and it may come years later to haunt you.

        • OneMoreinBoston says:

Again, depends. The department store’s beauty counters are regularly “raided” bythe FDA and Health boards, most of them have very stringent cleanliness standards.

Not because it’s the right thing to do, but because it sells more. Most of them have disposable applicators, and the lipsticks are wiped down with alcohol in between appointments. Mascaras are used just for makeover purposes, and disposable applicators are used, and then thrown out after each “dip”.

I clean my sable brushes after each makeover with alcohol as well.

BTW, my brush set cost me almost $1000, and it is insured.

Also I am NOT licensed. In my state that is completely legal as it is application of product only, not breaking through the epidermal layer.

          • MAMAZ says:

In spite of Federal laws many companies worry about absentism when employees have chronic illnesses. They often look for reason to get rid of them. But given how litagation happy the Salahi’s are supposed to be I can’t believe she wanted have told her employers and hoped for them to push her out.

            • Adgirl says:

Whaaa? Michaele didn’t disclose her “illness” because she might lose her make up job? So, if she took time off when she felt ill how did she explain herself – she was hungover? If you have a doctors note your employer still won’t know what your illness is, unless you voluntarily tell them. It’s confidential.

              • nathania says:

I just wonder exactly how long it has been since Michaele Salahi held anything even vaguely resembling a ‘job’.

              • OneMoreinBoston says:

                To @adgirl:

You are incorrect. As a 1099 employee, you are both the employer and the employee.

There is no one to give a note to.

If you turn down work on a consecutive basis, you will not be asked back.

If there is a large event planned, and you’ve agreed to work and then do not show-whatever the reason, you will not get future work, because you will get a reputation, however unfair, as not honoring your commitments.

  8. Olivia says:

I am kind of anxious to see what the proposed “storyline” will be for this season’s NY crew. Without a “storyline” there is no show. Bravo is not in the business of running around wasting miles of film about women shopping at Whole Foods or getting stains off the rugs.

My guess, and nobody hold me to it, is that we will be looking at some form of “redemption” coming from Jill. She will be looking to soften her image after last season’s “debacle” and it will be up to another castmate to make her look sympathetic.

Another guess is that Jill and Ramona will be each other’s “best friends” working against the team of Sonja and Lu Ann. If nothing else, you can always count on Ramona to be on the side of the “winner” in any outcome because I don’t see Jill signing up for another “storyline” that casts her forever as the “bad guy”. I think even she has had enough of trying to overcome that image.

Look for more scenes with Alex and Simon who I think are on the path to getting their own series when this one finally breathes its last breath. My take on this is his resigning his post at the Chandler Hotel in order to make himself more available to film. Just a guess. These people live on a diet of fame.

Kelly will only be included as a “filler” presence. Running in the streets. Riding her horse. Fashioning jewelry out of roadkill. Scenes that will not tax her “acting abilities”. Lu Ann will play the role of “bridge” between the warring camps since nothing in her life so far spells “interesting”. Sonja will assume the part of the “comic relief” once reserved for Bethenny.

Have no idea what this “newbie” unannounced so far is supposed to bring to this otherwise lifeless series that remains to be seen. I am unable to see a way in which they can “top” last season’s efforts since I think we can all say we got pretty exhausted toward the end with the bickering and back biting going back and forth.

It may very well be that these franchises have actually come to the end of the line pretty much as a result of the vulgarity exhibited by the NJ crew. The same old, same old “storylines” of fashion shows, bitter bitching, mean spirited comments, breast augmentation, fat removal, Botox injections, eyebrow lifts, hair extensions, meaningless lunches, Pinot Grigios moments, vow renewals, and excessive spending all share the same theme of “been there, done that” once too often.

So I am looking for Jill to make nice, Ramona to give her “kudos” for the effort, Kelly to crank up the absurd, Lu Ann to bore, Silex to dominate, and Sonja to drop a few more names. Without Bethenny to blast the pretentiousness out of the water, there really is not much else to expect by way of “surprise”.

That is unless they all decide in tandem to take a leap off the Brooklyn Bridge to end the agony.

    • nathania says:

I have been thinking the same thing about ‘the end of the line’. Because they are trending toward ridiculous with NJ and Atlanta. Unless they do a RHOWWF and just market to a completely different demographic.

  11. tuzentswurth says:

I saw the Caro Manzo video, her deposition. WORST witness ever? She talks about the “stories” Danielle told w/o ever saying ..”She told me”……it seems to me that it is all heresay evidence. She admits on the show that she has nothing to do with her and doesn’t socialize w/her, so is this beauty salon gossip? She sits with her head cocked listening to the question, then never looks at anybody, eyes rolling all over , looking up, down, gesturing wildly etc. Looks like she is making this shit up as she goes along. Now, I am no Danielle fan but I just don’t think this looks like valid testimony for factual court evidence. Stuff Danielle wrote in her book??? OK. This crap, pure heresay. Caroline is no better than Danielle. She needs to look at herself.

    • Need a Hobby says:

That was just a snippet of the deposition, isn’t it? The case is about what Danielle has claimed publicly and to others. So if D said these things at the Season 1 reunion (as the attorney asked Caro to recount) and Caro heard D say them, what Caro’s testimony is not hearsay. Caro’s not testifying to the truth of D’s statements, just that she made them at the reunion.

Since the reunion was taped, they’ll ask for a subpoena the reunion tapes (uncut) if they haven’t already.

      • MAMAZ says:

need a Hobby – I don’t understand why they even need Caroline’s depostion since they can subpeoena the tapes. ?

        • tuzentswurth says:

Exactly, other than Caroline is a vindictive bitch with a vendetta and wants to make sure she “gets” Danielle. From what Caro always said, one would think she would not want to involve herself with anything Danielle. Well, more publicity and face time for Caro….way to keep it going Caroline, maybe you could get Ashley to help you too.

        • Need a Hobby says:

Maybe the depositions are the basis for asking & getting a subpoena?

This is all pretrial stuff. The plaintiff has to show there is a cause for action to the court for the case to proceed. D’s attnys will ask the court to throw out the case. Based on the preliminary evidence (depos, docs), the court will decide whether or not to let the case proceed.

          • Blue Sky says:

This is a purely “he said/she said” case. There is no proof on either side. The attorneys are going to make big $, while nothing is accomplished…Danielle should have realized she should not say things without proof. Best thing is for both sides to settle out of court, which is what Maher probably wanted in the 1st place, $. She provoked this lawsuit, IMO. However, Maher is not such a great guy. I read the book, “cop without a badge.” He was a hoodlum, from a young age, in jail, and became a snitch because it helped him get out of jail, and make money. Where would he be without Danielle being on RHONJ? Nowheresville. She should countersue him, & get a piece of the profits from the upcoming tv show to be based on the book, if she can. Really, Maher should be thanking her, not suing her!

            • Need a Hobby says:

I don’t claim to know if there is or isn’t evidence that what D said is false and she’s knowingly defaming the guy.

If there is proof and/or evidence that would reasonably lead one to believe/conclude that she’s knowingly lying, then it’s more than a he said/she said. On the other hand, if the court finds there is no cause for action, the case will get tossed.

They are both people I wouldn’t want to have anything to do with. He can be despicable, and still she can also be lying. (Her public statements about her own brush with the law in FL conflicts with court/case records. So it’s not like she’s concerned about making factual statements.)

What is known is they’re getting far more public attention than either warrants. A pox on all their houses.

YAY!!! I wonder if Teresa has the common sense not to Tweet from all of the places she will be traveling to during the next 10 days because we all know she takes care of her 4 children all by herself.

I read before that he had to spend weekends in jail before for his first DUI and he got the crap beat out of him. He tried to sue for damages for his injuries then but lost… Of course now with his “star” status maybe he will be seperated from the general population.

      • Buffywood says:

I just checked her site and she has an event listed tonight for sharcancersupport.org and it is “A tasting event featuring the signature dishes of top NY women chefs, along with live and silent auctions.” but if you go to the website she is not listed anywhere. It looks like she maybe was going to this but listed it so she could look like she part of the event which she clearly is not.

As for her other two appearances this week at what appear to be some bad night clubs/bars, they are still listed. Nice to see she has her priorities straight. I hope the grandparents have a good week watching the children.

Totally off topic but I learned something about taser guns this past weekend. When you fire one (the kind that spring out), the guy sends out tiny pieces of “confetti” that have serial numbers on them. These can be used to trace back to the taser gun used. I thought that was a petty cool fact. Moral of the story, if you taser someone vacuum the area really good and empty the vacuum bag.

          • Pantry Viewer says:

            LOL!!

        • Blue Sky says:

She was getting $4,000 an appearance, IIRC. Ten appearances a month = $40,000. Not a bad gig, she can afford babysitters. Somebody has to make $ to feed the family. I wonder how many pizzas it takes to = $4,000?

          • Rabble Rouser says:

Is there something wrong with us that we can’t stand this women- while others are standing in line to buy her crap (Laura excepted of course- I am referring to fans who actually love this woman) ?

Also, you claim to have been a famous model, publisher, editor, author, designer and major tastemaker before you appeared on RHONY. You’ve stated many times that you’re grateful for bad press because it “gets your name out there” and “gets your brand out there” and “your (cough) charities out there”. For you to repeatedly make statements about “getting yourself out there”, you must be well aware that you were never out there before the RHONY. You don’t have to worry about me being shy. While I’ve never met Gov Christie I’ve know almost all of the other people who will be there tonight my whole adult life. It is a pretty small affair tonight with a limit of 200 people. I use to avoid these little dinners but since my mom passed away last June I feel obligated to go with my dad. I may encourage my 13 year old daughter to go with my dad tonight instead as it is a good learning experience for her. She looks just like me when I was her age and it will probably freak a lot of them out.

  16. nathania says:

    ah, so many thoughts…

I went to the link with Kim G and thought, you know, why SHOULDN’T she be on this show. She does on camera what they all do off camera. In fact, if I had to guess I would say Kim G. was probably drunk half the time so she never bothered to notice what was on-camera and what was off-camera and probably got blind-sided by the end of the season when it became clear that that part actually matters a bit, it’s how the other ‘ladies’ contrived their show images.

It seems to me that if Michaele really had MS that the ‘charity’ they run would be an MS charity instead of a non-specific charity for ‘children’s’ causes. I do believe someone like her would be skywriting “I have Multiple Sclerosis” all over Virginia and DC if it were true, debilitating/terminal illness is one of the greatest grifts there is. I was trying to find out about their charity and found this snippet which is interesting:
    http://www.taxgirl.com/white-house-party-crashers-forgot-invites-and-tax-returns/
It contains this paragraph from VA dept of Ag:
“The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Office of Consumer Affairs cautions consumers that Journey for the Cure Foundation, 14141 Hume Road, Hume, Virginia, has solicited contributions from Virginia citizens for allegedly charitable purposes. However, as of May 13, 2009, this organization has not registered with or been granted the appropriate exempt status by the Commissioner as required by law. Therefore, contributors are cautioned that their contributions to such organization may be used for non-charitable purposes.”

That was over a year ago and an extension was requested and then expired (to gain tax exempt status) so if the charity is legit at this point it sure wasn’t when it began. I just think the charity would have been an MS charity all along, but who really knows…

Caroline cracked me up during that deposition… someone needs to tell her the correct answer to that question ‘do you hate my client’ was ‘NO’. She’s that arrogant and stupid to portray herself as having a vendetta because apparently she thinks the whole world is on RHONJ 24/7. I laughed when she said it became very ‘dark’…she is the one who made it the very dark thing, by investigating Danielle and publicizing her past. I guess the timeline might be, Dina picks the cast but Bravo chooses Danielle as well, Dina strongarms Danielle into paying for attorney fees for the contract so they can appear a united front, which Danielle resists because she is probably the only street smart one in the bunch and had her own attorneys negotiating her contract, Danielle gets p.o.’d and feels bullied already by the Manzos and is happy to confirm to the sister of Dina’s ex that, why yes, she did in fact have to have her ex sign permission for the children to appear, Caroline sees red because nobody EVER does anything around Caroline without Caroline’s express permission (I can believe this even more if it’s true she arranged Dina’s marriage to Tommy, that’s some influence…it was given even more credence in the VHI wedding video where Tommy referred to Dina as his best friend, which means his hag if the rumors are true…Will and Grace tied the knot at big sister’s behest) and the rest is heavily edited history. I hate to wish anyone ill but it wouldn’t make me cry for Caroline to fall flat on her arrogant butt before it’s all said and done.

    • dumberries says:

@nathania, I would like to see Caroline knocked down a few notches myself. She’s so hypocritical in her judgments. It’s okay for Bernie Kerik and the Giudices to take other people’s money for their own extravagant pleasures, lie under oath and break the law. But, it’s reprehensible for anyone she doesn’t like to break the law. It was wrong for Jac and Chris to give 18 yr old Ashley a car when she was not working or doing well in school, but Albie deserves to have everything given to him at the age of 23. It’s fine for her to expose someone’s past to the world, but unforgivable for anyone to mention shady deeds in her family’s past….

      • WindyCityWondering says:

One day Caroline will get hit with the reality stick…she can’t sit in judgement of others without some blow back!

  17. nathania says:

oh, one more thing, if I was pitching the kind of real estate Stacie is i would berate the Salahis too, the time she spent with them could have cost her a real commission.

    • Quincy IL says:

That is correct. She is running a business and has small children. It was wrong to waste her professional time for a joy ride.

      • Jen says:

But isn’t part of her ‘job’ tob
be on the RHODC and film with others? Fake or not

        • nathania says:

yep, the point was about her berating them, and I don’t blame her for calling them out on camera, and putting them on the spot about the goings on at the winery and what the value of their assets really is. From the link I posted above:

“For the most recent bankruptcy, the company claims about $335,000 in assets and $965,000 in liabilities, though that number for liabilities could go much higher. The IRS is listed as a creditor, though exactly how much has not been determined, as the company has not filed corporate taxes since tax year 2006 (yes, if you’re making a timeline, the due date would have been in the year that Tareq and Michaele took over from his parents).”
That is referring the Chapter 7 bankruptcy filed by Tareq, which must have happened post 2006 if I am reading it right. Good grief, if Stacie had dug even deeper (assuming she didn’t, she may have just been playing coy) she might not have ever taken that ride.

          • nathania says:

so I just read the CNN link in that article and it says the bankruptcy Tareq file was LAST YEAR. I don’t know hardly anything about real estate or bankruptcy/tax law, but would they even be able to get a $8 million mortage ‘funded through’ a business that was still in bankruptcy or filed as recently as a year ago? No wonder Stacie was pissed…

    • WindyCityWondering says:

I had a house on the market that before it could be shown the prospective buyer had to have the financial proof they could afford to purchase. Any realtor who deals in the high end market would require this so as to eliminate those who just like to look at other people’s homes. IMO Stacie didn’t want to do the scene with the bankrupt bobsie twins and it showed.

  18. dumberries says:

Albie is a wannabe Giudice. Too pretty to work (in his own mind) and fantasizing about punching people in the head.

I get the sense that Albie thinks he’s above working at the Brownstone like his brother. Caroline seems to love her kids, but she thinks Lauren’s not too bright but sweet, Chris is a goofy entreprenuer, and Albie is the blessed chosen one… Why work to support yourself when momma will give you everything and make excuses for you….

    • WindyCityWondering says:

      nicely summed up!

    • kk says:

Chris, Lauren, Albie, and Ashley (let’s include those Jersey Shore kids too) should all be drafted and sent to Afghanistan and give a few of our troops a break. They’re all spoiled brats, who should be doing something with themselves.

Thanks for the video – JZ reeks of desperation, if you ask me. Now matter what antics she tries to use to win back any fans, her true ugly will always shine through.

      • dumberries says:

I agree Stanbo. More damage control. She’s trying too hard to look like she’s self-depreciating. If she would sincerely apologize and admit her real schemes against Bethenny and Alex (as Boston inidcated) then people would possibly give her another chance. I don’t think she’ll ever be that big of a person.

    • boston02127 says:

It was funny until the real Jill showed up. Blech! I bet she thinks that doing this video will make her look like she has a great sense of humor. Too little too late Jill. If she did a video of an apology to Bethenny and Alex then I’ll think differently of her.

Her hair really drags her down and makes her look older than she is.

    • Need a Hobby says:

As others have said, Foghorn’s learned that it’s better PR to appear to have a sense of humor about herself and play along with the gag rather than just attack critics & satirists as she did previously. Damage control.

Rachel Zoe for ex, was smart to embrace Amy Phillips & her schtick. But Rodg: Amy’s own stuff was much funnier and prescient: especially when Amy’s Rache is juxtaposed with the real Rach…. in the grocery store for example. Like, bananas. 🙂

    • Rabble Rouser says:

I don’t think she is truly being a good sport, I think the only reason she seems to be embracing it is so us ‘haters’ can’t use it to mock her. When she is in on the laugh, it does take some of the fun out of it.

    • nathania says:

That’s great advice there on her page but she left out a few things. First, see, you have to get someone, like a private investigator, to rake through the past of said “toxic friend”. Then you have to make sure you are on a reality show so that you can spill their dirt on National Television. Then, while acting above the fray, support friends and relatives in tearing the ‘toxic friend’ apart. If you ever allow yourself to meet with her again, make sure you result to name-calling (things like “clown” and “garbage” are good, for starters) and baseless accusations. Make sure you talk over her so she doesn’t get a chance to speak, and if she somehow manages to get out half a sentence, interrupt so she can complete her thought. Finally, involve yourself in any litigation the ‘toxic friend’ might be involved in, going as far as to say at a deposition that you ‘hate’ her. That should do it.

she can sing much better than she can act! 🙂
Thanks for the laugh….I lurk every day, only post occasionally. I would also like to give a shout out to all of the care givers out there. My dad passed away a year ago today, and it’s been a reeaalllly tough day for me today. I burst into tears at the grocery store (thankfully, I’m a regular), made the cashier and bagger cry thinking of their own loss. Then made my MIL cry because she was reminded of her mother passing….So, I was really due for a chuckle. Thanks to Lynn and all of the posters for making me laugh!

I saw a bit of her when she was on American Idol and I was impressed with her singing voice, it was a relief to me that this generation has an icon like her that can actually sing. I wonder if this persona is just something she put on to get the acclaim she feels like she needs or deserves. Because in her interviews I always felt like she was putting on a bit. But her live performances speak for themselves. 20 years of Madonna was enough…she basically became a star based on her personality, with a huge help from her boobs. Madonna is a barely passable songwriter, and she can carry a tune but that is about it. Yep these clips show she’s a smart cookie.

I know! I am pretty liberal on social issues; pro-choice, no death penalty, legalize mary jane, gay marrige OK (as long as they also get stuck with their partners unpaid bills like us hetero marrieds do) and I don’t even mind if people have guns.
I just don’t get something, like how can LGaGa run around all self important like she does, with the media slobbering over her while female politicians are torn from limb to limb by the media. I know more about the personal lives of female politicians than I do about professional lives of male ones – remember Geraldine Ferraro?. I’m kind of embarrassed for the media the way they kiss up to entertainers and attack serious females.

      • nathania says:

I guess it’s because they aren’t threatened by Gaga.

      • sugarmagnolia10 says:

I am up way too late, puttering around the house, reading blogs and out of pure boredom I watched Gag-Me’s speech. We all know I can’t stand her, but I was truly insulted by her words. First, she spends an entire minute preening and flashing a peace sign (gotta make sure the paps got the photo), then proceeds to site the vows that our servicemen and women say, then throws the paper she was reading the vows from on the floor. It goes on and on, until she then decides that the “republican homophobes” need to go home. By no means am I a republican, but to equate party choice to homophobia is just wrong. Wrong and ignorant.
I hate to sound like an old wet blanket (I’m only 36!), but I also have to comment on her age. When the DOD directive was put into place in 1982, Gag-Me wasn’t even born. When Clinton signed on to DADT, she was 9 years old enjoying her wealthy UES childhood. I believe that with age comes wisdom, and I don’t think she even has a clue as to the complications or the caveats of this issue. It is just not that simple. If it were, then we wouldn’t even be commenting about it.
My BIL is in the military–special forces, so his job is very dangerous. He has served in Korea, Desert Storm, 3 tours in Iraq, and he just returned from Afghanistan. He will be the first one to say that he doesn’t care “where a man sticks his dick, as long as he’s got my back in a fox hole”. I believe that to be true for many servicemen. This whole DADT almost puts a homophobic shine on our troops. Which is another thing I do not care for…
And lastly, until you volunteer for a job that puts you directly in harms way, knowing you could die, but you serve others by keeping them safe and defending their freedom, then you have no fucking right to tell tell a soldier to go home. IMO, it’s not the soldiers who have issues with this, it’s the politicians, the special interest groups. Again, just another youthful proclamation on her part.

I truly believe she is just grandstanding. And, to me, it’s insulting. I am big supporter of our troops AND a gay advocate. Those 2 things exist peacefully within me, and I think the same is true for the majority. I wont post the link because I am not giving Perez HIlton another hit, but it’s on his sight. 20 minutes of this Ninny prostelitizing about shit she knows nothing about, and of which she should certainly not be speaking.
I actually just googled “dadt” and guess what came up…Lady Gag me. GROSS! What is this world coming to?
The narcissism of this woman is just beyond!

        • kk says:

    • nathania says:

Personally I think the reason it is selling is because since the advent of gossip bloggers and the paparazzi free-for-all, plus the tell-alls and roman-a-clefs about old Hollywood, everyone knows that all stars are constructed in one way or another, many of them had drug habits, money problems, sexual ‘proclivities’, and spent their time on casting couches. I think Julia Roberts was probably the last actress who sailed through the ‘hollywood icon’ public relations phase unscathed before the internet killed it forever. So maybe people prefer joe schmo, whom they already know is just like them, to making an icon of out someone whom they know is just like them but has a public relations firm employed to lie for them and ends up a multi-millionaire because of it. Angelina Jolie, who is like the present-day Julia Roberts, is that famous in my opinion because she admits to being skanky so the public forgives her (though she had to adopt alot of kids to get that forgiveness). She is no better an actress than Julia (not saying much either way) but her persona compared to Julia’s is 180 degrees in the opposite direction. It just ends up running downhill into ‘reality tv’ I guess.

Ford had three half-sibs that he didn’t know well. So I’m thinking Carter. He had two sisters. Now Jimmy had only one term. And Ruth Carter Stapleton had one son, but I don’t know anything about him. But Ruth Carter Stapleton took her degree at UNC and died (at age 54…shame) in Fayetteville, NC.

I’m not a lawyer, but my husband is, and I remember going through hundreds of note cards of heresay rules with him during law school. I am POSITIVE you ladies are correct, but I am confused. I thought Caroline’s testimony would be heresay since her testimony directly deals with the alleged damage. I was under the impression that because she claims Danielle told her directly about this….As I’m typing, I think I may have figured it out. Is it because it’s a civil tort and not a criminal charge?
Please someone explain it to me, because I’m confused! I would ask my husband, but he hit his housewife legal stuff limit after Joe and Teresa’s last shenanigan!

    • sugarmagnolia10 says:

Okay, another lawyer friend just called, and he explained it to me. Caroline was only saying that the conversation happened, right? I think someone posted that earlier. I would still love a more in depth explanation if anyone has time! Thanks….! Sheesh, the law is so confusing…

      • dumberries says:

        @sugarmagnolia,
I have no legal expertise, but my understanding is that hearsay applies when someone testifies to that some action occurred, based only upon what a third party told them. If Caroline was testifying that Danielle made the defamatory statements to Jac and Jac told Caroline, that would be hearsay. Or, if Caroline was testifying as to whether or not what Danielle told her had actually taken place, that would be hearsay (she wasn’t a first hand witness to said acts). In this case, Caroline was only deposed to testify that defamatory statements were indeed made by Danielle about her ex in Caroline’s presence. So, the gun rape and pet killing allegations Danielle made about her ex to Caroline (and others during the reunion taping) makes her a first hand witness to what the ex claims is defamation.

I understand that Danielle is counter-claiming that there is no defamation, whether her allegations about him were true or not. She contends that his reputation couldn’t be worsened by anything she said because he’s long since ruined his own reputation with his statements, his actions and confessions he made in his book.

I don’t know if the ex has the S1 reunion tapes (or if he tried to get them), but if he does, then a first hand witness may just be icing on the cake. Caroline seemed anxious to go beyond just testifying to the statements that Danielle made, she also added her opinions of Danielle’s character and the fact that she believes Danielle to be a delusional liar. This corroborates the ex’s claims about Danielle being untruthful and could add more credence to his claims. On the other hand, her testimony about Danielle’s character might be ruled completely irrelevant. Either way, Caroline’s negative remarks about Danielle’s character definitely wound’t harm his case. IMO, this is personal for Caroline; she wants HER opinions and gripes against Danielle on the record; this is one way for her to do it and still claim that she doesn’t want to be involved in Danielle’s drama (“I was deposed, I had no choice”). Based on the content of her testimony and the fact that she had dinner with the ex beforehand, I’m convinced that Caroline weaseled her way into the case to stick it to Danielle (JMO).

        • nathania says:

I think they are going to throw it out. Danielle is right, just based on what the man has said in the press recently, he’s a slime. And the court is going to assume they are both lying and exaggerating.

        • Had Enough! says:

Dumberries has it right. Here is the actual (federal) hearsay rule:

“Hearsay” is a statement, other than one made by the declarant while testifying at the trial or hearing, offered in evidence to prove the truth of the matter asserted.

But there are many exceptions to the hearsay rule, and one of them is pertinent to Caroline’s testimony about what Danielle said:

(2)Admission by party-opponent. The statement is offered against a party and is
          (A) the party’s own statement, in either an individual or a representative capacity or
          (B) a statement of which the party has manifested an adoption or belief in its truth, or

Her constant chirping about how wonderfully charitable she is, marathons, now this “garage sale” with 1200 tweeted photos, demanding that “mean viewers” should donate a buck, yadayada, for her it all seems quite different that the true meaning of the word. Thank you George Steinbrenner for reminding us that being charitable means so much more when it is done privately and anonymously.

      Well said!

Kelly seems incredibly lost as a person and I just wonder what is at play with her. The real housewives shows are definitely showing that you can have everything and still be empy and not appreciate it.

We are doing a Salem tour right around Halloween, including witch history. It does include a brief stop in Boston, can’t wait.

      • boston02127 says:

@vilzvet–Where are you coming from? You’ll love Salem, esp next month. It’s so fun to walk around at night and see everyone dressed up.

        • vilzvet says:

It’s a bus trip from NY. It’s a very popular tour, so 4 other people that couldn’t get on are going to follow by car and stay at the same hotel as us. Should be fun!! My cousin in Amesbury hopefully will drive down to meet us.

          • Sha2000 says:

Oh I’m jealous! I LOVE Halloween (especially retro looking Halloween decorations) & have been wanting to do that trip for a while. BTW, did anyone see a reality show called “Who do you think you are?” or something like that this summer? Sarah Jessica Parker was on & they traced her family tree back to a woman who was put on trial as a Witch in Salem. The law was changed as her trial was going on & execution for supposed “witchcraft” became illegal….the end thankfully of that era. She (the accused ancestor) lucked out big time & so ultimately did SJP. Had her ancestor been convicted & sentenced to death, she would have never been born (& we would have never been treated to Square pegs, Miami Rhapsody great movie & Sex in the City). Wow right? But I wonder how much the producers manufactured in that “reality” show? It was pretty interesting if you want to take a look:

TEB–I’m so glad you have a good time. A friend of my family drives one of the duck boats. His “duck boat name” is Johnny BagODonuts. Did you happen to visit Castle Island? I live right on the Blvd that takes you there.

We had “Mack” as our Duck driver. My 3yr old got to drive and it was a big hit. We were in Marblehead most of the time doing a sailboat regatta. It was fun!! Not positive if we hit Castle Island as the 1.5yr old was a bit squirmy at times….

      • sugarmagnolia10 says:

I lived in Boston for a year, and I LOVED the duck tours! I lived right off Huntington, by the Pru, so I saw them constantly. Finally had some out of town guests and took the tour. My favorite part is when they take you in the water. Also really enjoyed the Tea Party boat…they re-enact the Boston Tea Party in full costume. I hate that damn freedom trail red line though….I walked all 6 miles of it with an over-eager historian friend. After about 10 statues and monuments dedicated to Paul Revere, I was waiting for one that said “Paul Revere took a piss here while he was waiting for one if by sea, two if by land…”
There is actually a spot where he was waiting, although the pissing part is my bad humor!

        • sugarmagnolia10 says:

Oh, and I really enjoyed the witch museum. It’s pretty small, and doesn’t take long, but the drive to Salem is beautiful. We took an overnight trip from Boston, went to Salem, then spent the night in Marblehead. It was a stormy and rainy day but it was that much more fun. I seriously cannot conceive of the kind of money the people in Marblehead have….those are their vacation homes?

Hey legal eagles. Question for you.
I haven’t been following too closely but I noticed up thread people mentioned subpoenaing the Bravo tape, the portion that was not broadcast.
Can Bravo resist on the same grounds as news outlets? If it isn’t published/broadcast then it is akin to reporters notes and therefore protected? Or, did the ladies possibly sign a contract that denies them access to film not broadcast?

    • Had Enough! says:

That the ladies may have a contractual provision prohibiting them from getting the tapes doesn’t stop Kevin Maher. He didn’t sign a contract.

No, shield laws would not apply to entertainment. And shield laws apply to protecting journalists from revealing a source. The tape is not a source.

Any thoughts on Stacie looking for her birth father?
I can understand the desire and compulsion of the child given for adoption to make contact with the birth parents.
I can also understand the need of birth parents for total privacy. Sometimes there can be terrible results if the birth parent hasn’t told their family or only some family members know.

    • kk says:

Tell me about it. We going through this now.

    • Char212 says:

I’m kind of on the side of the child in cases like Stacie’s. They have a right to know their medical history especially.
I think Stacie’s mom is making it so much harder on herself by not telling Stacie who her dad is. If she had told her Stacie would have left her alone if that’s what she wanted and gone on to find her dad. Now, because she won’t tell her they are contacting other family who knows nothing of Stacie until now. Big mistake…HUGE!

      • Kat says:

I agree with you. Stacie’s birth mother has created this pickle. She should just be honest with Stacie about the father. imho

    NeNe’s response: There’s a bridge waiting 4 u 2 jump off! Go kill yoself

      • Adgirl says:

        NeNe is beyond disgusting.
Her telling anyone, let alone a young girl to “There’s a bridge waiting 4 u 2 jump off! Go kill yoself” is plain evil!!!

NeNe is a mother, doesn’t she understand how fragile young people are????

    • nathania says:

I sure don’t have any desire to watch that. Once people start saying things like that and hitting each other (or Teresa-fying each other, I don’t know what the word is for consistently coming within inches of battering someone) I just lose interest.

    • Had Enough! says:

Is NeNe the one who screeches? I can’t stand Kim Zolciak so I don’t watch Atlanta but the few times I caught glimpses, there was a woman who I honestly thought was doing Geraldine (Flip Wilson’s famous character). Screeching her head off.

      • LynnNChicago says:

Thats the one… she’s about 6′ something towers over the rest of the cast.

I watched a couple of episodes for the first time yesterday. Is it true NeNe is a fan favorite? I thought she was nasty and full of herself. Stacy seemed nice and the designer who had her show on the season finale seemed really arrogant but her show was nice. I really did not watch enough to really get to know what cast I liked or didn’t like but I did not like the NeNe lady, am I missing something?

  59. Need a Hobby says:

On the Juicy goes to jail story:

Juicy Joe was busted for driving with a suspended license in May in Lincoln Park, NJ.

He had his license suspended in March when sentenced for his DUI. In August he appeals his DWI sentence and gets it reduced.

Last week Juicy was sentenced to 10 days in jail for the May charge, had his license suspended for another year, and fined $1500. He probably won’t serve the full 10 days and reportedly has a cell to himself.

Reportedly, according to Radaronline, being thrown in the pokey is like a joke to Juicy. Fortunately, he won’t be in jail long enough to write a prison memoir. Although radar says sources claim Juicy plans to sell his story. Evidently Joe thinks he’s Britney Spears/Lindsay Lohan now.

Article from NJ local paper: http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.ssf/2010/09/husband_of_real_housewives_of.html

    • Someone left a link in the comments to that article. They claim that Joe’s business partner gave an interview to this site, and he’s claiming that Joe G. has a judge in his pocket. http://ibuysss.com/?p=410
Now I’m wondering if there really is any substance to the rumor that the Giudices are under a bigger investigation, and that’s why they appear to be getting away with everything?

      • Had Enough! says:

He may have some local yokel judges in his pocket, but I doubt he’s got any juice in the federal court system, which is where the bankruptcy action is going on, and where any perjury case arising from the bankruptcy would be filed. And the IRS isn’t going to go away either.

      • How far does the “good ole boy” network extend in NJ? I don’t think it is going to help with a bankruptcy fraud case, and certainly not in the subsequent IRS mess that will follow. For the life of me, I don’t understand why Bravo has not cut the cord to these people because they have more baggage than the Salahi’s, Curtain’s and D. Staub combined.

        • In answer to how far does the Ole’ boys network go in NJ-we have another state motto that was drummed into my head, “Its not what you know-its who you know.”
For some reason, thinking about the Giudice case, I remember that saying.
That link/site seems a little bit “homemade”, and I’m wondering if Joe’s business partner has been having trouble getting his side of the story out?
In a way I feel sorry for Joe-I really think that he’s going to take the fall for all of it, if it comes to someone being punished, but I have to wonder how far Teresa was pushing him to hand-over the cash?
Seriously, I have wondered if he is the victim of domestic abuse. If he was, he’d probably never admit it-but I could picture it happening if she does what she does knowing that cameras are watching…

          • Some bells are going off in my head about misappropriation of funds for these Sect 8 housing units. I wonder if he has more partners than just Joe Mastropole, and what their game is. I also want to know if he owned properties other than in just NJ. On top of that, the bankruptcy fraud with the intentional non-disclosure of information.

Not big time, but definitely federal interest. This guy is not just a simple stone and stucco sub-contractor, and pizza shop owner to have a network in the local judiciary system.

          • WindyCityWondering says:

Both Teresa and Joe are equally in their bankruptsy quagmire. Hopefully, they both go down for their parts – Teresa’s business is in her name only so she can’t blame him for not knowing…. And then we have the IRS……waiting patiently for their turn at these thieves!

I have been meaning to tell my dear Lynnfamily that ur tax $$ r being well spent. The UN went into secession on Monday. My terrace looks Right at it. Starting Sat. 4 20’NY police, orange boats w/a large gun point off the back of the boat w/a man w/his arm resting on it. Mind u I have strong binoculars. positioned themselves in front of the riverside. You know the UN is considered International
Territory but the US pays for most of the bills but its still in debt. Any way then there is a 40′ Coast Guard boat that sits even further out in the water & no guns r visible. OK anytime any boat even the NY Circle Line goes one of the orange boats speeds up & rushes to the passer byers side & escorts it by the UN. All night these boats stand by diligently with blue lights flickering. Now its 7 AM & the boats all have switched out I guess changing shifts.
Hmmm. They r being extra careful & I think that is a good thing.
I bet that makes many of u be glad u don’t live in NYC.

Yes but….until last year, the United States owed the U.N. hundreds of millions in arrearages:

      http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2010/09/20/advancing-us-interests-united-nations

The White House, by the way, is being a bit disingenuous. It is true that the Bush Administration was antipathetic to the U.N., but those arrearages go way back to The Great Communicator (or as I think of him The Best Supporting Actor) when we stopped making payments and withdrew from UNESCO as a way to pressure the U.N. to do what we wanted.

A government that refuses to see that this “we are number one” attitude and thinks we hold some moral high ground (translation: our **it don’t stink) and that thinks we can bully everyone else is inviting more terrorism.

      • Ellabean says:

Well said and well researched, Had. Kudos.

        • Had Enough! says:

Thanks, Ellabean. The older I get and the more I read, the more I’m convinced that no one has any interest in the truth anymore. I am really sick of our political system and of both parties, and really scared of these fringe groups. I admit that I can’t think of a better way, but honestly, the whole thing is just a bad deal. They say we get the government we deserve, but I don’t think we really have any power to change it. Some of them are slightly better than the others, but not enough better, and they get sucked into the system, too.

          • Kat says:

I so agree. I have no answers either. Except I would cut down on lobbyists and campaign contributions from corporations.

    • Ellabean says:

  63. stanbo says:

Good morning, ladies…is everyone sad for the RZ finale tonight? lol. I used to love this show and still watch it, but it got weird this year. The fashion part is great, but I get uncomfortable just watching the kids/no kids stuff….it seems so personal, and while some reality stars can pull of “personal”, Rachel makes watching her personal life very uncomfortable. I think she’s probably a nice person deep down, but she seems to have so many walls up around her. I wonder if there was some type of abuse in her life? Her family seems nice, though I notice that she doesn’t seem to have a particularly close relationship with her mother. And do you notice how uncomfortable she gets anytime the subject turns to even the slightest hint of anything sexual? On one hand, I can almost respect her shyness about talking about such things on TV, but on the other hand, I get the feeling that she is actually grossed out by anything sexual.
Oh well, just some random thoughts on a Tuesday morning. I better get my butt back to work!

    • Had Enough! says:

Stanbo. Surely you must know a few Jewish women. Surely you must know a few Jewish mothers? Being close to a Jewish mother is like getting sucked into the sun. Believe me, I know. Look at Gloria the Crypt Keeper and JZ. Normal women can be close to their mothers because normal mothers do not suck the life out of their daughters (and all the air in the room while they are at it).

I watch RZ for the same reason I watch awards shows. I love to look at the beautiful clothes. Not that I am into fashion. I’m not. But some of the clothes are really works of art and I do love the touch of glamour and elegance that sometimes appears. To the extent that I watch anything more than that, I think she seems like a nice person period. Not just deep down. Maybe a bit immature and shallow, but that may be more about her environment than about her.

    • I loved watching RZ the past two seasons because of the fashion, too. But this season has lost too much of the fashion and focused on the drama of the personal life. I find it very easy to miss and watch on another day.
Seeing her fabulous jewelry collection stored in her closet was amazing. The trips to designers, grabbing dresses..to jewelry stores to wear with award show outfits. Seeing RZ tour of Chanel’s apartment in Paris, wonderful. Sometimes watching her fawn over designers was a bit much, but it was business.
Then this season the fashion has taken a back seat to her marriage drama and pregnancy story. Sadly she will never become pregnant (and shouldn’t) until her eating disorder is resolved.

I think RZ is a wonderfully creative woman. What I worry is that she will end up as an obituary in the LA Times like Karen Carpenter.

      • Had Enough! says:

Yes, I loved the Chanel tour. She has a great eye, that’s for sure. Though these clothes are so beautiful and the women are beautiful…some women can wear anything. Still, she seems to really know what is going to look best on someone and how to complete the look. I find all the personal nonsense irritating – esp Taylor and Brad. He is actually becoming a celeb in his own right. Bananas.

And I am sure there are plenty of other good stylists who manage to get the job done without all the hysteria.

        • Stanbo-When Rachel has talked about her mom in the past she called her “Mommy,” talked about her in glowing terms about how she got her fashion sense from her, but I could have sworn she was talking about her as if she had passed away. I was stunned to see the woman at the Seder!

          • stanbo says:

I know, right? The way she has talked about her in the past and the distance they seemed to have at the Seder was quite noticeable to me. Maybe it was just editing.

Another comment about the whole baby thing…I have 3 older sisters (baby boy, lol) and my one of the three would have loved to have had kids but could not. While probably not intentional on the part of the person asking, it really made my sister sad every time someone brought up the issue of her not having kids. I never ask a couple why they don’t have kids, especially when I don’t know the struggles they may have had to have them, and because, really, its none of my business. That is such a personal thing.

I was thinking last night that the Salahis, the Giudices, Been-No-One, etc. are proving that there IS such a thing as bad publicity. Then I see Elliot Spitzer chit-chatting with George Stephanopoulos on GMA and I recall that Spitzer is now a CNN commentator.

Now he didn’t get these gigs BECAUSE of the bad publicity. Apart from his skeevineess, he has always been considered a bright guy and a sharp politico. But the point is that the bad press – massively bad press – certainly didn’t hurt him.

    Ditto Martha Stewart.

  68. Had Enough! says:

What was the KooKooLet smokin when she wrote this?

“I wanna be Keith Richards,” Anna Sui once told me in an interview. From that moment on, I became obsessed with her. Yes, she a killer researcher, Yes, she knows a load about fashion, and yes, her shoes, fragrance, and makeup line are smokin’ hot.

Editor: Would you PLEASE proofread this crap before you send it to me? “Yes, she a killer researcher?” WHAT? Do you mean “Yes, she IS a killer researcher”? By the way, does that mean she researches killers when she isn’t designing? Why is the word “yes” capitalized in the second clause? If you are going to use the vernacular, please use it correctly. She knows a boatload, not a load.

”And, yes she has hung out with Marc Jacobs since they were in their twenties, and yes, her closet in her apartment is dreamy. She is all of those things, and her Spring 2011 line was sexy, and 70s smokin hot.

Editor: What is with the smokin’ hot in all your writing? It is really quite irritating. Do you think it is cute or clever? It is not.

Honestly, I hate going to her shows, for all I want to wear now are those dresses. I’m still tan, why do I have to wait for layers of chiffon and cowboy boots paired with pale prints.

Editor: I asked you last week to please pull look at your daughter’s third grade grammar book and review the lessons on punctuation. You are missing the conjunction in this sentence and have just glued together two clauses with a comma. What you apparently meant to ask was “I’m still tan so why do I have to wait for layers of chiffon and cowboy boots paired with pale prints?” And note that questions end with question marks, not periods.

Someone in “fashion hell” is trying to torture me. A lineup of the clothes before the models put them on, and adorable asian girls with mini buns on their heads backstage.

Editor: This isn’t even a sentence. And how are the clothes and the Asian (note the capitalization here; Asia is a specific place and is therefore a proper noun so it takes a capital letter, even when you make an adjective with it) torturing you? Sorry. It makes no sense.

I love you Anna, your voice in fashion is so loud and clear. We all love you from Andrew Bolton, curator of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Baby Jane Holzer, Kelly Osborne, and me.

Editor: Again. Punctuation. You can’t just slap the clauses together like this. It could be: “I love you, Anna. Your voice in fashion is so loud and clear.” Or “I love you, Anna, because your voice in fashion…” Or even “I love you, Anna – your voice in fashion…” But it can’t be the way your wrote it.

Now are Andrew Bolton, Baby Jane Holzer, and Kelly Osborne (who is she again? one of your reality TV nobody friends?) co-signing this with you?

    Thats a whole lotta love!

Editor: I’ll have some of whatever she is smoking.

Editor: She apparently read my last memo because she is now – miraculously – using the word “it’s” correctly.

Would it be a show? A presentation? No one was clear.

Editor: Is there a difference between a show and a presentation? Doesn’t a fashion show present the clothing line?

Was Jay-Z going to be there, or just the regular fashionites? One thing, however, seemed for sure: Tory’s line would take the cool, chic, well-traveled look to new heights. I was right. For this collection, Burch’s muse travels to souks in Morocco, cilmbs every mountain,

Editor: She refuses to proofread or even spell-check.

and has a vaguely European, but unltimately unplaceable accent.

    Editor: Again.

Editor: You’d better take a look at the runway photos. Nearly all the pants are low-rise. Did she actually go to this show? Or did she just pop in, say HIIIIIIEEEE and cartwheel back out?

to ’70s inspired easy dresses, everyone wanted it all! I heard that Kayne West even made an appearance, but I must have missed him. Sugar! But I did see some cool looks that I was lucky enough to discuss with the lady of the hour — Ms. Burch.

Editor: And what did Ms. Burch have to say? Or is the only thing interesting about this the fact that YOU got to talk to her? Is this article about you or about the designer and her clothes.

The Spring 2011 line is looking hot, strong, and sophisticated. Get ready ladies, the sweat pants and t-shirts are gone for spring. It’s time to look hot again!

OT Radar reporting that Simon Barney was arrested last night for domestic violence against Tamra. Something to do with a dog leash.

    • stanbo says:

Apparently he hit her with a dog leash while exchanging the family dog because she held a birthday party for one of their kids at a “non-neutral” place.
      Are these folks for real?

And Gretchen is getting sued, again?

      From the story:
RadarOnline.com learned exclusively that the argument leading to the altercations was over a custody battle — about their dog!
Tamra and Simon have been sharing custody of their small dog and he brought the dog back to her house Monday night.
“He was angry and threw the leash at her and hit her with it,” a source with knowledge of the case told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

“Their kids were in the house and started crying.
      “It was a bad scene.
Tamra recently moved into a new house. She now dates Eddie Judge and her relationship with her soon-to-be-ex is often acrimonious.
But this time Simon went too far. The leash hit Tamra. She wasn’t sure what to do,” the source told RadarOnline.com. “But she knew she couldn’t tolerate the violence. She called the cops.”

Simon apparently texted her after the incident, and after he left her house, saying that the leash slipped out of his hands.

    • Rabble Rouser says:

I read it in ROL- they were doing a custody exchange of the dog (I don’t even want to get into that nonsense) and he tossed the leash at her.

He needs to be more careful, she seems like a very vindictive person who would exaggerate situations to garner sympathy, especially with a pending divorce and custody situation.

      • stanbo says:

It looks like it’s turned into one of this unfortunate messy situations where one will do anything to hurt the other. But Simon has always struck me as a very controlling jerk, and I wouldn’t put it past him to become violent. Good for her for sending the message that she won’t tolerate that kind of b.s.

Neither of them are nice people – they will hopefully get what they deserve! He is a very dark person and she is equally obnoxious as a victim – neither think about anything or anyone except themselves. If they can’t even be civil over the dog – what chance do those poor kids have!

Share Print Font: + – The Twitter social media was hacked this morning, impacting thousands of users of the popular microblogging site. The company said it has identified the attack and has now patched it.

The hack of Twitter.com is extra nefarious because the tweets activate without being clicked on — it’s enough for Web surfers to move their mouse cursors over them.

According to Mashable, the bug redirects users to third-party websites without their consent.

CNET reports that the security firm Sophos warned users about the Twitter vulnerability in a post early Tuesday.

The hack affects users of the Twitter site, and hasn’t impacted users who use third-party applications, such as Tweetdeck.

Please check back for more details on this developing story.

Is Bravo paying their housewives a bonus to get in trouble with the law (Tamra and the flying dog leash) or to do cruel things (NeNe twittering someone to jump off a bridge) to get more publicity? This is getting silly! They are becoming little criminals and their “shows” are always cited in the articles.
